Arizona high school student arrested for bringing AR-15, ammo to campus
[FoxNews] A 15-year-old high school student in Phoenix, Arizona was taken into custody after he was allegedly caught with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and ammunition at a high school, police said.

Phoenix Police said the Bostrom High School student was arrested at around 1 p.m. Friday for bringing the firearm onto school grounds.

The administrators immediately placed the school on lockdown and alerted the police, who then confiscated the weapon and arrested the student.

"When they arrived, officers detained the male student in the school’s main office. The student was found to be in possession of a semi-automatic rifle. Additional ammunition was found in the student’s backpack and lunch box," police said, FOX 10 Phoenix reported.

The student faces felony charges including "minor in possession of a firearm, carrying a weapon on school grounds, interfering with an educational institution and other weapon-related charges," Donna Rossi, director of communications for the Phoenix police, told NBC News.

According to a press release, school administrators received a tip during lunchtime that the gun was on campus, FOX 10 reported.

Illinois woman allegedly tried to smuggle drug-laced paper to boyfriend in jail
[FoxNews] A woman from Bellwood, Illinois, was arrested after allegedly attempting to pay a corrections officer to help her smuggle narcotics to her boyfriend in jail, according to reports.

Kasandra Claudio, 23, was accused of helping to smuggle narcotics to her boyfriend, Dwain Johnson, 20, of Gary Indiana, Fox 32 Chicago reported.

Johnson was taken into custody in December 2020 after allegedly murdering and attempting to carjack a retired Chicago firefighter.

On Friday, Johnson and Claudio were charged with attempting to bring contraband into a penal institution and bribing a public official.

An officer at the correctional facility Johnson is being held in told the Cook County Sheriff’s Office in April that Johnson approached him about smuggling paper laced with drugs into the jail.

Maryland guardian arrives in stolen vehicle to take custody of teens arrested for auto theft, police say
This one just keeps getting better and better. Read on, dear Reader.
[FoxNews] Maryland police said the guardian of four teens arrested for auto theft last week arrived to pick them up in a stolen vehicle.

The Charles County Police Department said officers patrolling in Waldorf, Maryland, at about 1 p.m. on May 16 saw two Hyundai vehicles in front of a business. A computer check revealed they were reported stolen.

When the officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the drivers of the two vehicles sped off.

At the same time, a dispatcher took a 911 call about a group of suspects that entered a business and stole merchandise before fleeing in two vehicles that matched the cars the officers were attempting to stop.

The suspects got out of the vehicles at a Park and Ride lot and attempted to hide, though the officers were ultimately able to apprehend them without any further incident.

From the two vehicles, police arrested 18-year-old Deshaun Deamonte Whitaker and 21-year-old Vincent Lee Alston, both of Washington, D.C., who were both charged with theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and rogue and vagabond.

Whitaker was released on $2,000 bond and Alston was held without bond in the Charles County Detention Center.

Four juveniles were also arrested and charged with theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Police said a female guardian was set to pick up the four juveniles, but the guardian and two other females arrived in what appeared to be another stolen vehicle, which left after the three women were dropped off at the police station.

Officers located the vehicle on a nearby street, which reportedly had a broken back window and steering column damage. When the officer ordered everyone out of the vehicle, the driver fled, nearly hitting one of the officers.

All the occupants got out of the vehicle after the driver drove a short distance, and it was determined the vehicle was stolen from another jurisdiction.

Anthony Matthew Stewart, 19, of Washington, D.C., was driving the vehicle and arrested after a brief chase on foot. He was charged with first- and second-degree assault, unauthorized use of a vehicle and providing a false name to police. Stewart also reportedly had active warrants for his arrest.

Also in the vehicle were three juveniles who were apprehended. One of the juveniles, a 16-year-old boy, had active arrest warrants, and a 13-year-old girl was reported missing from another county. All three juveniles were charged with theft and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

The three women who picked up the four juveniles earlier that day – Carlisa Monnae Blackeney, 18, of Washington, D.C., and Mahkiyh McQuinn-Woodly, 18, of Hagerstown, Maryland – were charged with theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, providing a false name, and rogue and vagabond.

Both Blakeney and McQuinn-Woodly were released on $2,000 bond, while Stewart was held on a $25,000 bond.

Police said the occupants in all three vehicles knew each other.

Michael Strauss - Dog Tags: Identifying our Deceased Military Veterans
[fold3 HQ] Thanks to our special guest contributor Michael Strauss, an Accredited Genealogist from AncestryProGenealogists® for this informative article on military research using dog tags.

Behind the imposing gates of Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia rests the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Around the clock, active-duty personnel stand as sentinels remembering our fallen veterans. Many cemeteries have remains of soldiers from past wars marked with a single haunting word, "Unknown." To properly identify each man and woman who have paid the ultimate price for their country, the military created identification tags. Here is a look at how those tags have changed over the years.

#1  When eldest son deployed to Afghanistan as a combat engineer, he asked me to get multiple sets of dog tags made up and send them to him.
The reason?
They would take individual tags and put in boot laces, pants cuffs, each pocket, etc.
They regularly dealt with IED's, and the idea is to make each part of your body identfiable in case there's an 'boom'.

UC Berkeley Hosts Exclusive 'Black Only Graduation Ceremony' in Defiance of Civil Rights Laws That Forbid Racial Segregation (VIDEO)
[Gateway] The University of California Berkeley finds itself embroiled in controversy as it hosts an exclusive "black-only graduation ceremony," which directly contradicts the principles of racial equality and integration established during the Civil Rights movement.

The African American Studies Department at UC Berkeley announced in March that they would be holding their annual "Black Graduation" ceremony for students in May.

"The Department of African American Studies plans on hosting our annual Black Graduation ceremony, which is open to all majors and degree programs across the campus," read the announcement.

On Saturday, UC Berkeley held its black-only graduation at Zellerbach Hall, UC Berkeley.

"Black Graduation is an annual, campus-wide ceremony that celebrates all Black/African/African American identifying students upon completion of their undergraduate, master’s, Ph.D., J.D., and/or professional degree programs," the live stream caption read.

Campus Reform reported that the public university’s separate graduation for African American students has been going on annually since 2013.

The exclusive nature of the ceremony raises concerns about conflicts with the principles of equality and integration that were established during the Civil Rights movement.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964, for example, prohibits racial discrimination in public accommodations, which includes educational institutions. The act aimed to dismantle segregation and create a society where individuals are treated equally, irrespective of their race.

"We’re disheartened to see universities like Columbia and now Berkeley veer so far to the left that they’re resurrecting Democrats’ segregationist history," California College Republicans Communications Director Dylan Martin told Campus Reform.

"Encouraging our separation into groups — saying there should be something separate and special for different races — furthers the division in this country. The solution to racism is not segregation. CCR is happy to represent all College Republicans in the state in condemning these segregationist actions," Martin said.

Flag Officers 4 America write a letter to Congress
From the website: 160 retired Admirals and Generals wrote a letter urging Congress to defund the military’s insane Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program.
The domestic cultural threat with the innocuous name...

"Diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) divides rather than unites our military and society. DEI’s principles derive from critical race theory, which is rooted in cultural Marxism, where people are grouped into identity classes (typically by race), labeled as “oppressed” or “oppressors,” and pitted against each other.

Join with the other flag officers fighting for America and sign this letter demanding Congress stop this practice infecting the U.S. military.

We respectfully request that Congress, pursuant to its constitutional powers “… to raise and support Armies …” and “… to provide and maintain a Navy …,” take legislative action to remove all diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs from the Department of Defense (DoD). Additionally, we ask that you ensure that no DEI related policies, programs, and funding are included in the 2024 NDAA.

As our Nation faces looming threats from “foreign” adversaries/enemies, our military is under assault from a culture war stemming from “domestic” ideologically inspired political policies and practices. If not stopped now, they will forever change the military’s warrior ethos essential to performing the mission of deterring aggression and failing that, to fight and win our Nation’s wars. Our military must be laser focused on one mission–readiness, undiminished by the culture war engulfing our country.

For generations, our military was a meritocracy, which, simply defined, means selection and advancement based solely on merit and ability. Service Members (SMs) were judged not by the color of their skin but by their character, duty performance, and potential. Meritocracy, coupled with equal opportunity, created conditions for all to advance and excel, which stimulates healthy competition, thereby raising standards. Historically, our military has been one of, if not the most, diverse and inclusive institution in America.

The domestic cultural threat has an innocuous name: “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI). But, in reality DEI is dividing, not uniting, our military and society. … Under the guide of DEI, some people are selected for career enhancing opportunities and advancement based on preferences given to identity groups based on race, gender, ethnic background, sexual orientation, etc.

Government Corruption
The FBI just got caught in yet more massive, outrageous FISA abuses
[NYP] Like the casino gambling scene in "Casablanca," the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court is "shocked, shocked" that the Federal Bureau of Investigation continues to ravage the privacy of vast numbers of Americans.

For each American the FISA court permitted the FBI to target, the bureau illicitly surveilled almost 1,000 additional Americans.

The court’s just-revealed ruling signals the FBI presumed any American suspected of supporting the Jan. 6, 2021, protests forfeited their constitutional rights.

FISA was enacted in 1978 to curb the rampant illegal political spying exposed during the Nixon administration.

After the 9/11 attacks, the George W. Bush administration decided the president was entitled to order the National Security Agency to vacuum up Americans’ and foreigners’ emails and other data without a warrant.

Federal judges disagreed, and the result was a 2008 FISA reform that authorized the feds to continue commandeering vast amounts of data.

But under Section 702 of that law, the FBI was permitted to conduct warrantless searches of that stash for Americans’ data only to seek foreign intelligence information or evidence of crime.

US Treasury warned of a possible default until June 15
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen suggested that the country may not make it to June 15 if the issue of the public debt limit is not resolved in the near future.
Their version of playing hardball in the hope that the House Republicans give up demanding spending cuts.
“My assessment is that the chances of making it to June 15, being able to pay all of our bills, are pretty low ,” Yellen said in an interview with NBC on May 21.

She also stressed that the problem of US public debt must be resolved before June 1.

Earlier, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that problems arose during negotiations on the public debt of the United States of America. According to her, the team of US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy put forward a number of proposals that had a negative impact on the negotiation process.

As IA Regnum reported , President Joe Biden during a press conference following the G7 summit in Hiroshima also said that he could not guarantee that the Republican opposition would not provoke a default with their decisions and actions.

Biden could not rule out default in the US

US President Joe Biden said he could not guarantee that the Republican opposition would not provoke a sovereign default by their actions. He made such a recognition at a press conference in Hiroshima following the G7 summit.

Biden says he can't guarantee avoidance of US default. "I can't guarantee they won't trigger a default by doing something outrageous," Biden said.

He also said that he is studying the possibility of using presidential powers to avoid default, including within the framework of the 14th amendment to the US constitution.

"I'm looking into the Fourteenth Amendment to see if we have powers or not," he told reporters.

According to the president himself, he has such powers, but the question remains how to use them without the risk of challenge.

The fourth section of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution states that the solvency of the public debt should not be in doubt. This section may allow the president to decide the issue of public debt without congressional approval.

Recall that on May 10, Andrey Kolganov, a leading researcher at the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University, told IA Regnum that the US authorities will not be able to endlessly raise the ceiling of public debt, so a default becomes inevitable in the future.

According to Kolganov, a default on US government obligations could mean a fairly strong drop in confidence in their securities, not only in government securities, but also in private ones. This, in turn, will create very serious financial difficulties up to the possibility of causing significant damage to the banking system.

At the same time, he stressed that the issue of increasing the public debt is exclusively a subject of political bargaining between Democrats and Republicans. Because in fact, the US has no other choice but to raise the national debt ceiling. Otherwise, they will not be able to finance their domestic spending.

Earlier, the head of the White House admitted that the predicted default in the event of failure of negotiations to increase the national debt ceiling would be devastating to the US economy. At the same time, Biden noted that he does not rule out a default, although he does not reject the possibility of a short-term increase in the national debt ceiling.

#1  The federal government still has and will continue to have revenue flowing in.

1 - payment on bonds continues
2 - programs mandated by law to be paid (see Social Security) will be next in line for coverage
3 - everyone else takes a hit in what is divided up from what remains.

The Stupid Party will continue to be itself and end up with a omnibus bill that will be chocked full of non-essential spending.

#2  The fourth section of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution states that the solvency of the public debt should not be in doubt. This section may allow the president to decide the issue of public debt without congressional approval.

My understanding - and I am but A Wing Wiper Of Very Little Brain - is that there is a pretty strong school of thought that says the 14th Amendment absolutely requires that the debt be serviced, even at the expense of everything else, and only Congress has the ability to change it one way or the other. Either way, it's going to end at the Supreme Court, and they will go with the most conservative (read: LEGAL) call...at which point expect to see the Left suddenly discover Andy Jackson's philosophy of, "The Court has made its decision, now let them enforce it." They will do what they want until everything finally, completely, and irreparably breaks...which will likely be the morning that the Blue Cities suddenly realize that the checks didn't come.

It's got to end, and it will not be a controlled landing. We had - maybe - until the mid-2030s before the crunch was going to come, but the berserk pandemic spending pretty much pulled that rug right out from under us. I've been saying for a couple years now that in terms of the economy, all it was going to take now was one bad day, either on Wall Street or on Capitol Hill.

I truly believe now that day is coming.

#7  The best comment is still Kevin McCarthy's: (paraphrasing) that he is afraid the Biden administration will "bumble their way into default."

I don't think I have ever seen a more incompetent group of people anywhere.

FBI Revokes Security Clearances From Whistleblowers Ahead Of Congressional Testimony
[Daily Caller] The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) revoked the security clearances of two whistleblowers ahead of their Congressional testimony regarding alleged abuses within the agency, the acting assistant director of the FBI revealed to the subcommittee chairman, Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan.

Christopher Dunham responded to a subpoena from the Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government regarding the revoked clearances of former FBI agents and whistleblowers, claiming the two violated multiple rules and guidelines leading to the loss of their clearances, The Washington Post reported. Friend and Allen
... Steve Friend, a former FBI special agent, and Marcus Allen, an FBI analyst working out of the FBI’s Charlotte, North Carolina, field office ...
have maintained that the loss of their clearances was an act of retaliation for speaking out, in part, over the FBI’s investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol breach.
So essentially they've all been FIRED. Maintaining a security clearance is a condition of employment.

#5  ^ That's it right there. Even the always opitimistic Mrs Mundi yesterday had to acknowledge that we are entirely a lawless country. The "Law" now is simply anything that gives cover and succor to the machinations of the marxists.

#6  They will be kept in a floating category of whistle-blower purdah, technically employed but lacking clearance, so they can never return to the Bureau, and their colleagues are chilled about association with them in any way, preventing sharing anything since they lack clearance.

Most importantly, this is a brazen intimidation tactic, essentially telling the rank and file agents and first line supervisory agents, its career terminal to reveal anything unsanctioned by senior leadership.

#7  It's very clear that the senior management of the FBI, CIA, DHS, and many other federal agencies need to end up in a noose or imprisoned until the heat death of the universe for their many crimes against the American people. It is my fervent hope that they each receive the Karma they so richly deserve.

UN breathes life into once-polluted Gaza wetland
[IsraelTimes] Development Program removes 35,000 tons of garbage from Wadi Gazoo, plans sports and leisure facilities, as clean water flows in from new German-built treatment plant
Any bets on how long before the thing is ruined and stinking again, dear Reader, even though Israel had nothing to do with it?
The Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip’s only wetland is slowly coming back to life.
