#5 Can we call it Artemovsk now that the battle has concluded?

ELI5: How is it possible? I thought Wagner was done in Bakhmut. That Wagner were pulling out. Poorly trained Conscripts were to replace them. I thought they ran out of ammo, and only had shovels. What about the UKR Counter-Offensive that was so successful that the next the day the city fell.

So are UKR troops so incompetent that Russian conscripts with shovels liberated the city.

American Propaganda and the Traction it gets makes me want to slit my wrists. Deep State would be so lucky.

Yet Zelensky still sent young UKR men with wives and children to die in the Meat Grinder - despite it being a lost cause. For the optics.

#8 The battle has moved to the flanks where the Ukrainians are making low effort attacks to surround Bakhmut, but mostly to draw in more Russian reserves. The Ukrainians have moved another km in the last 2 days on the southern flank. Also saw video where they have captured heights looking into the city.

The Ukrainians also control a small SW section of the city (the utility district?) where they are sending out patrols and makes a good jumping off point if the Ukrainians did decide to attack into the city. No Russian effort to take it or move to Chasiv Yar.
