A video narrated by Russian ministry of defense spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov, charges the US and NATO with the planning to invade the two Russian speaking breakaway republics, Donetsk and Lugansk.
The Facebook video announcement has a link to a Yandex.ru document center where the five page order is displayed.
NATO and the US military have been training Ukrainian forces since 2014, but this document dump purports to show US involvement with the planning of an invasion of Lugansk and Donetsk in January, 2022.
Russia's "special military operation" carried with it a purpose of preventing a Ukrainian invasion of the two breakaway republics. The document, if authentic, shows a clear cause for war.
Both republics were recently recognized by the Russian Federation as sovereign countries, and both republics' troops are heavily involved in clearing their respective territories of Ukrainian regulars.
Most recent reports by both sides indicate Lugansk and Donetsk troops are having a difficult time in achieving their objectives, even with heavy Russian fire support.

That said, I think the fantasy that there was going to be a solution to Donetsk and Lugansk in Ukraine's favor was a major weapon of Putin's. It's why so many of Ukraine's forces were in a bad position to deal with the invasion. And that the Rasputina in Ukraine may be cutting both ways.

In an open letter to the Biden administration that was first reported by Politico, 27 foreign policy experts urged for a "limited No-Fly Zone over Ukraine starting with protection for humanitarian corridors that were agreed upon in talks between Russian and Ukrainian officials on Thursday."
"What we seek is the deployment of American and NATO aircraft not in search of confrontation with Russia but to avert and deter Russian bombardment that would result in massive loss of Ukrainian lives. This is in addition to the request from Ukrainian leaders for A-10 and MIG-29 aircraft to help Ukrainians defend themselves, which we also strongly support," the group later added.
The foreign policy experts noted that a rapid number of people were fleeing Ukraine and said that the country was facing a "severe humanitarian disaster."
"The refrain ’never again’ emerged in the wake of the Holocaust, and Ukrainians are wondering whether that pledge applies to them," the group wrote. "It is time for the United States and NATO to step up their help for Ukrainians before more innocent civilians fall victim to Putin’s murderous madness."
The letter to the Biden administration was led by U.S.-Ukraine Foundation co-founder Robert McConnell.
Other notable signatories include former NATO supreme allied commander Gen. Philip Breedlove, former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor and former U.S. Ambassador to NATO Kurt Volker. Was Lurch involved?
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has lobbied the U.S. and NATO for a no-fly zone, but is has been ruled out by the Biden administration because its enforcement would require U.S. and NATO jets to attack Russia jets that violate it.

[Daily Beast] The Ukrainian defense ministry has released audio from a call that it claims captured two Russian officers lamenting the death of a top general and the collapse of its secure communications network in Ukraine.
In the call—which has been verified by Bellingcat, the fact-checking group known for exposing Kremlin misinformation—two purported Russian FSB officers are heard discussing the death of a general killed in fighting near Kharkiv, which has been hammered by shelling this month.
Ukraine’s defense ministry named the general as Vitaly Gerasimov, chief of staff of the 41st Army, and Bellingcat reported that it had confirmed the death with Russian sources. In its statement, Ukraine’s defense intelligence agency said Gerasimov had been "liquidated" alongside "a number of senior Russian army officers" in fighting near Kharkiv.
If Gerasimov’s death is confirmed, he would be the second Russian general to be killed in Ukraine within a week following the death of the 41st Army’s deputy commander, Andrei Sukhovetsky. A pro-Putin Chechnyan general, Magomed Tushayev, was also reported to have been killed.
Russia’s failure to protect its top-ranking officers backs up reports from Ukraine that the Kremlin’s invasion force is in disarray. On the call released by the Ukrainian defense ministry, one FSB officer can be heard complaining that its encrypted comms system had been destroyed, allowing Ukrainian forces to listen in on Russian military orders.
Bellingcat’s executive director, Christo Grozev, wrote, "In the phone call in which the FSB officer assigned to the 41st Army reports the death to his boss in Tula, he says they’ve lost all secure communications. Thus the phone call using a local sim card. Thus the intercept."

At the same time, not high-precision weapons are used for strikes, as claimed by Russian military leaders and propagandists, but unguided bombs OFAB-250-270, FAB-500, OFZAB-500. This results in significant civilian casualties and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. Such bombings are another obvious crime committed by the Russian army against the humanity.

Most of those hospitals have been hit w/Grad rockets and artillery. They won't level large buildings but will kill and wound people, destroy equipment and supplies and contaminate sterile areas. The medical personnel will have to work with what remains since the indiscriminate shelling creates even more casualties.
[Ukrinform] Mykolayiv has been the location of several failed Russian advances and the airport was recently recaptured from the Russians. Mykolayiv prepares for tomorrow's defense, by booking 50 buses to transport captive Russian invaders.

Good night, I don't think anyone will shoot today. They are trying to sleep, to prepare for something tomorrow. [Aviationist] The Polish MiG-29s will be deployed to Ramstein AB, Germany and placed at the disposal of the government of the U.S.. From there, they can be transferred to Ukraine.
After denying the various media reports and claims that the country was about to send a certain number of its fighter jets to Ukraine, it looks like Poland has eventually agreed on a plan to transfer its MiG-29 to Ukraine via the Government of the U.S.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken had already confirmed that the U.S. was working with Warsaw on plans to supply Ukraine with its fighter jets on Sunday. "We are working with Poland as we speak to see if we can backfill anything that they provide to the Ukrainians," Blinken was quoted to say by CNN in an interview.
A new chapter in the "fighter jets to Ukraine" was written on Mar. 8, 2022, when the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a new statement.
The new statement claims that the country is eventually ready to deploy its MiG-29s to Ramstein AB, Germany. From there, the U.S. Government will eventually make the jet available to the Ukrainian Air Force. In return, Poland will get "used aircraft of analogous operational capabilities".
The question now does not pertain the type of the aircraft that would be transferred to Ukraine, but the airframe that the nations transferring the Fulcrums could potentially receive, from the USAF inventory. One common feature between all of the European MiG-29 users is that they are either looking to, or are already operating the F-16. Thus, in one case, it could be deduced that Poland may be requesting the Government of the U.S. to supply second-hand Vipers, to replace their legacy MiGs.
Another option that could potentially be pursued as a solution is a standing fighter unit that would be stationed in Poland, filling in the capability gap left by the lack of Fulcrums. However, this seems to be just a wild speculation. Another rumor: Poland gets some of the F-16Vs scheduled for Taiwan.

Ukrainian forces have continued to challenge the lengthy Russian ground lines of communication leading from near Sumy to eastern Kyiv. Russian forces near Kharkiv have been steadily diverting to secure and extend those lines over the past few days, as we have reported.
The Ukrainian General Staff reported on March 8 that Russian troops currently near Chernihiv appear to be moving east. We assess that those forces may seek to link up with troops coming from near Sumy to help them consolidate and protect their extended lines in support of the planned offensive against Kyiv.
The situation in eastern Ukraine and southwestern Ukraine remained largely unchanged in the past 24 hours. Ukrainian General Staff reporting of additional Russian efforts to advance on the city of Zaporizhya likely confirm that Russia intends to make blocking that city a priority. The forces Russia is so far moving toward Zaporizhya appear to be far too small to encircle or take it.
Russian forces are consolidating and preparing for further operations along the western and eastern outskirts of Kyiv, especially in the Irpin area in the west and the Brovary area in the east;
Ukrainian forces are challenging the extended Russian lines reaching from Sumy, which Russian forces have not yet taken, to the eastern outskirts of Kyiv;
Russian troops are likely attempting to bypass Mykolayiv and cross the Southern Bug upriver of that city to permit an advance on Odesa combined with an impending amphibious operation against that city; and Russian forces are also driving north from Crimea toward the city of Zaporizhya.

Their reports are basically a lot of speculation with almost daily cut-n-paste of variations on the theme of "no change in the last 24 hours." Plus that magic word favored by "expert" analysts these days, limited:
March 5: Russian forces in Ukraine may have entered a possibly brief operational pause
March 6: The military situation on the ground has not changed significantly in the past 24 hours.
March 7: It is too soon to gauge the likely effectiveness of any Russian attempt to complete the encirclement of Kyiv
March 8: ...Russian forces near Kyiv made limited gains and prepared for limited drives

Russia is building camps to the north and northwest of Kyiv. They are bringing in supplies and troops. There are 3 small towns that the Russians will have to assault through to start the attack on the capital proper and that will be the beginning as well as a major artillery bombardment.
From a political point, it does seem that Putin is continuing to build up forces to force Ukraine to accept his demands and if they don't he can start the attack.
Russia is still lacking enough trucks to supply their forces quickly and attacks have reduced that number by a degree so the "stall"/"buildup" etc. might go on for a while.

Encirclement, isolation, and the starvation of Kiev is the RU strategy.
On FOX this morning Jack Keane enthusiastically supported the Polish MIG fighers to Ukraine. Last week Foggy Bottom indicated the MIGS to Ukraine would.... "not be an action endorsed by NATO."
This is the Biden administrations methof of saying, "not only no, but fok no."
This essentially means, NATO (will or may) NOT defend Polish air fields from Russian cruise missile attacks.
Not to be taken as fools, this week the Poles said, "no problem, we'll fly the MIGS to Ramstein Air Base and the US can send them to Ukraine." Now the kak sandwich is back on the Foggy Bottom and the feckless Biden administration.
I suspect we may very soon learn that the Germans have rejected any MIGS to Ukraine through Ramstein scheme. The Germans will NOT want Ramstein to become a MIG maintenance hub for the Ukrainian unpleasantness (no longer termed "WAR" by the UN). Can't blame the Poles. Can't blame the Germans.
Bidens henchmen betray everyone and everything they come in contact with to include the American citizen and taxpayer. I will be surprised if the Polish MIGS ever get to the Ukraine.

I think the "gig is up" - or very nearly so. It looks increasingly likely that Ivan doesn't care about international opinion, being cut out of SWIFT, or MacDonalds. He wants the Ukraine, and is determined to have her - starting with her capital. Or the rubble that was once her capital.

Simplistic take: Kiev existed in the fifth century. The Rus had moved south down the Dneiper River, and found Kiev already there. Kiev became their hub/capitol. Rus were 'the people who rowed'. This tortuously evolved in Russia.

Listened to the March 2 call with Ray McGovern and Mearsheimer.
My observation fwiw of the recording of that Victoria Nuland-Geoff Pyatt call from 2014 is Nuland is one hell of a cold calculating lady. She says fewer words than the blabbing ambassador, and every word of hers is carefully chosen and enunciated in that delicate soft voice.

Murphy Gas in SC is selling for 4.02 for regular up about 15 cents since last week.
The attendant said they were running low already after a tanker fill-up them up last night.
So the wife and I decided to store 50 Gals of Non-Ethanol which costs a bit more @ $4.30 a gallon.
We have done this before, during the run-up to the Hurricane Katrina GAS shortages. We found it lasted 5 months that time without issue. We later learned a good Stabilizer would push the useable life out to a year plus.
BTW: Wally World seems to have anticipated the need for Gas Cans and is charging $21 for a 5 gal plastic jug that sold for something like $14.95 a few months ago.
So for just over $215 for the gas plus the 3x 5 gals cans we were short in having 10 ($66+). Plus multiple trips to the gas stations. All told we spent almost $300 to play LMOE.
