No charges filed against man arrested in carjacking attempt on two St. Louis cops
[St. Louis Post Dispatch] ST. LOUIS — Police say prosecutors are refusing to file charges against the man police say tried to carjack two officers in a marked patrol car Saturday.

Police had sought charges of first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and resisting arrest against a 27-year-old man.

Evita Caldwell, a spokeswoman for the St. Louis Police Department, confirmed to the Post-Dispatch on Monday that prosecutors refused charges. She referred all additional questions to the circuit attorney's office.

Allison Hawk, a spokeswoman for the circuit attorney's office, said the case was still under investigation.

About 3 a.m. Saturday, the two officers were driving to Chouteau Avenue and Seventh Street for a report of gunfire. The officers said a man stepped in front of their car on eastbound Chouteau near South Tucker Boulevard, then walked to the passenger side and pointed a gun at the officers.

Police didn't say if the patrol car's lights were activated as the man stood in the way of the car.

1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Sports Ultra-Rare Engine Option
[Motorious] In the 1950s, two competing cars constantly fought for the title of America's favorite luxury sedan/coupe. These vehicles came from manufacturers who had been at each other's throats for decades by that point and still reigns true to this day. We're talking about Ford and Chevy; more specifically, we're talking about the Fairlane and Impala. These two cars were direct competitors back in the day, and classic automotive enthusiasts still fight about it. You can get a piece of the action in this excellent condition 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner. This car has made great attributes both under the hood and inside the car but first, let's talk about the incredible exterior quality and how it's been maintained after all these years.

UN: Afghanistan is unhappiest country in the world, Zimbabwe close behind
Allahu Akhbar! We're Numbah One!
[KhaamaPress] The United Nations World Happiness Report has found that Afghanistan is the unhappiest country among 149 countries of the world.

The report was made public on Saturday ahead of International Day of Happiness on Sunday, March 20.

Transformation of the political system and recapture of power by the Taliban in Afghanistan was not the reason behind the country being the least happy as the World Happiness report produces its reports based on its date of the past three years.

Lebanon, Botswana, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe are in the bottom five unhappiest countries of the 149.

Finland was found to be the happiest nation followed by Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland, and the Netherlands.

The worlds’ happiest and unhappiest countries are ranked based on six categories: GDP per capita, freedom to make life choices, social support, healthy life expectancy at birth, perception of corruption, and generosity within the population. The scores are from zero to ten wherein Afghanistan scored low in all categories.

With the humanitarian, hunger, and economic situation in the country, Afghanistan is not expected to leave the spot for another country in the next few years.

Army Flight Surgeon and SF Surgeon co-worker Silenced Over Frightening Vaccine Data
[Western Journal] An Army flight surgeon said she was ordered not to discuss military medical data when giving testimony in a case regarding a Navy commander who refused to receive a COVID shot.

Dr. Theresa Long testified COVID shots were resulting in members of the military developing demyelination of the central nervous system, Liberty Counsel reported.

She made that determination while working with Dr. Pete Chambers, a Green Beret surgeon.

They came to their conclusion as they reviewed the Defense Medical Epidemiology Database, the military equivalent of the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System operated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

When asked during her testimony about data in the DMED, Long, a lieutenant colonerl, replied, "I have been ordered not to answer that question."

"Ordered by who?" queried Judge Steven Merryday of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division.

Long said she was told by high-level command not to bring up military data in her testimony.

Matt Staver of Liberty Counsel, representing the embattled Navy commander, then asked if the data were important and relevant.

"Yes," Long said.

DOD briefing regarding Poland
[DOD] SENIOR DEFENSE OFFICIAL: Hey, good morning, everybody. Get started here.

Not a whole lot of changes to talk about today, certainly not on the ground. By our count now, the Russians have launched more than 1,100 missiles. The only thing that I would say that's different since the last time we had a chance to talk is that we have seen some increased naval activity in the northern Black Sea. The Russians have a little bit more than a dozen warships, different stripes and sizes -- amphibious ships, surface combatants, mine sweeper and some patrol boats that they've got up in the northern Black Sea, and we think that at least some of the shelling that's happening around Odesa is a result of these ships and their activities, the surface combatants.

It is not clear that this is an imminent pre-staging sign of an amphibious assault on -- on Odesa, so it would be -- at this point, we would assess that it would be wrong to conclude that this is somehow an indication that Odesa is under an imminent threat of an amphibious assault, but we have seen increased activity by Russian surface combatants in the northern Black Sea.

And since I really don't have anything other -- anything else to update, I mean, we'll just -- we'll go right to questions. So, Lita?
Etc.

Putin's ‘Brain' Calls Russian War in Ukraine ‘Fight Against American Hegemony,' Warns World Will End if Russia Defeated
[Breitbart] Russia’s fight in Ukraine is aimed at America and “global liberal elites,” according to Russian ultra-right ideologue Alexander Dugin, who has been called everything from “Putin’s brain” to “Putin’s Rasputin,” as well as “the most dangerous philosopher in the world.” He also warned that a Russian defeat would spell the end of the world.

Prominent Russian philosopher, historian and sociologist Alexander Dugin claimed in an interview with Al-Jazeera on Saturday that Russia faces an existential threat and is thus posed to succeed in the current conflict.

“Russia is destined to win. We have no other choice,” he said. “This is an existential threat to us, so victory is our only choice.”

“After our victory, the world will not be the same as it is today,” he added.

When asked if the fight in Ukraine was ultimately aimed at the U.S., Dugin, whose Foundations of Geopolitics helped reshape the views of Russia’s political and military elite in the late 1990s and gave a new form to old prejudices against the Western nations by means of the “Eurasianist” ideology, replied in the affirmative.

“This is a fight against American hegemony, but not only the hegemony of the Americans,” he said, adding that the current confrontation is also directed against “the global liberal elites who are trying to take over the world.”

In particular, the anti-liberal philosopher claimed Russia is “fighting against the hegemonic totalitarian liberal system, and not against the U.S. as a country, or Europe, or Ukraine as a country.”

“It is a war against (those) principles,” he added. “It is a war of ideas.”

According to Dugin, had former President Donald Trump remained in power, the current scenario would never have unfolded.

“If Trump were still in power, all of this would not have happened,” he said. “He was realistic and refrained from exerting pressure on us. He did not care too much about Ukraine or the spread of NATO.”

#8  If you listen to what Brandon says at Skidmark's link you will see that he is indeed pushing for a New World Order. Brandon says:

There’s gonna be a new world order out there, and we’ve gotta lead it. And we’ve gotta unite the rest of the world in doing it.

So, is the "we" of which he speaks America or, as Dugin asserts, "global liberal elites". Either way, it sounds a bit like John Lennon's Imagine.

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace... You...

We know that Brandon doesn't care much for borders and we doubt that Putin ever cared much about John Lennon. IMHO, none of them can be trusted.

Ukrainian mother seriously wounded while shielding her 6-week-old baby from blast
[CBSNEWS] A photo of a Ukrainian mother cradling her baby in the hospital after she was seriously maimed in a missile strike by Russia has gone viral. The photo shows Olga, head wrapped in a bandage, breast feeding her baby in a bed at Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital. She still has blood splattered on her face.

The 27-year-old woman, who did not share her last name, shielded her baby, Victoria, from shrapnel after a missile strike in Kyiv on Friday, according to Rooters. "I was maimed in the head, and blood started flowing. And it all flowed on the baby," Olga told the news agency. "I couldn't understand, I thought it was her blood."

The missile strike shattered glass across the room. The baby's father, Dmytro, woke up to the sound. He took Victoria as Olga began screaming her baby had been cut. "Olga, it's your blood, it's not hers," Dmytro told her.

Russia lacks enough combat strength to advance further: Ukraine
[DAILYSABAH] Advisor to the head of the Ukrainian president's office said the frontlines between Russian and Ukrainian troops are "practically frozen" as Russia does not have enough combat strength to advance further.

Neither the Russian nor the Ukrainian side currently has the strength to make significant progress, although tactical attacks were still being carried out, Oleksiy Arestovych said in a post on Facebook on Sunday.

The Ukrainian general staff fear that Belarus might actively join the war and claimed evidence of Belarusian troops being prepared for a direct invasion.

While Russian troops did invade Ukraine from Belarusian territory, the authoritarian president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has so far rejected an active involvement of his own troops in the war.

“(Over the past day) there were practically no rocket strikes on (Ukrainian) cities,” Arestovych added.

Russian soldiers and officers are feeling the pressure as commanders are being accused of "cowardice and weakness of character" after inspections by Russia's Federal Security Service, Arestovych claimed.

Earlier on Sunday, the Ukrainian military said it had inflicted more losses on Russian forces in ongoing clashes, with approximately 14,700 Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine so far.

Ukrainian forces have destroyed a total of 96 Russian aircraft, 118 helicopters, 476 tanks, 1,487 armored carriers, 947 vehicles, 21 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 60 fuel tankers and three boats, according to the latest update from the Ukrainian General Staff.

At least 230 Russian artillery systems, 74 multiple rocket launcher systems and 44 air defense systems have also been destroyed, it added.

Claims on casualties and damages from both sides, however, have not been independently verified.

According to U.N. estimates, at least 902 civilians have been killed and around 1,460 injured in Ukraine since Russia launched a war on its western neighbor on Feb. 24.

The U.N. has said the real figures are likely to be much higher as conditions on the ground make verification difficult.

The hostilities have also driven 10 million people from their homes, according to the U.N. refugee agency.

#11  From what (one-sided) pics I have seen, the Russians seem to be operating the tanks without a solid combined arms doctrine, they are going in without infantry, depending on artillery and rockets and air support (primarily helicopters for CAS, fixed wing for deep attacks) to suppress the enemy and simple mass to overcome the defenses. This pretty much fails if you don't have infantry to support the armor, the ATGM teams are having a field day with ambushes and pop-up attacks.

Not to say this will be a loss for the RUssians. It seems the Russians are learning from this, and have gone to their old "shell them to hell" playbook, which is slow, methodical, and very destructive. All they need is enough men and ammo to feed into the meat grinder, which they appear to have, absent a mutiny or very unlikely domestic turn of events.

It's all a question of who runs out first: the Ukrainians and their cities being rubbled and civilians deliberately targeted, displaced and/or killed (and eventually suffering morale from such terror), or the Russians and their Army being attrited to the point where their command and control and logistics simply fail at certain key points.

Never underestimate the ability of the Russians to drown you in their blood.

Biden tells US businesses to ‘harden’ defenses against Russia cyber threat
Hardening systems is a good idea anyway, during these troubled times — this is as good a time as anyway.
[IsraelTimes] US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity, except maybe for abandoning Afghanistan...
warns of intelligence pointing to a growing Russian cyber threat and urges US businesses to "immediately" prepare defenses.

"If you have not already done so, I urge our private sector partners to harden your cyber defenses immediately," he says in a statement.

Biden cites "evolving intelligence that the Russian government is exploring options for potential cyberattacks," including in response to Western sanctions over Moscow’s launching of the war in Ukraine.

"It’s part of Russia’s playbook," he says.

Biden says the US government would "continue to use every tool to deter, disrupt, and if necessary, respond to cyberattacks against critical infrastructure."

However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
he underlined that most critical infrastructure in the country is owned and operated by private entities, which cannot be compelled to take specific cyber security measures.

"Owners and operators must accelerate efforts to lock their digital doors," he says.

I use Ammoseek.com for AMMO and have found PALMETTO STATE ARMORY a great source for firearm "kits", build-out parts and etc...

On AmmoSeek, I am seeing in stock,
Steel Case Rifle .223 REM 55 gr FMJ 1000rd Case for $385.00.

Which is way down from the $525 per 1000 I saw back in 2021 after the LSD's Stole the Election. At a 2021 Eastman Gun Show, there were a few A-holes selling 5.56mm /.223 for $20 for 20 rds in zip-lock plastic bags.

Even adjusted for inflation, we are still higher than the Trump Admin (2016-2020) prices of 23 to 28 cents a round.

India-Pakistan
Srinagar acid attack case: Court frames charges against two accused
[GREATERKASHMIR] Srinagar, Mar 20: A court here has framed charges against two persons who were arrested for throwing acid on a woman in February in downtown city and the trial will begin from the end of this month.

The two accused were presented before Principal Sessions judge Jawad Ahmad, who framed charges under sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 326-A (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by use of acid) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), officials said.

The trial will start at the end of this month, they said.

Expressing satisfaction over the development, Senior Superintendent of Police (Srinagar) Rakesh Balwal said the police will fight this case till the end and ensure that the victim gets justice.

"Our aim is that this case becomes a milestone in history for a speedy trial and punishment to the accused so that it acts as a deterrent for those harbouring such thoughts or having such tendencies," Balwal said.

Advocate Mir Naveed Gul, who represents the victim, said the charges were framed against the accused persons involved in the acid attack on the 24-year-old woman.

"The principal sessions judge, Srinagar, without any delay, listed the matter on an urgent basis. I appreciate the expeditious hearing of the case and the framing of charges," he said.

The charge sheet was prepared in a record time of three weeks by the Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
Police. Balwal was personally monitoring the case and had also constituted a Special Investigation Team headed by Superintendent of Police (North) Raja Zuhaib Tanveer. SDPO Mohammed Yasir Parray, SHOs Tasir Hamid, Owais Geelani and Sub-Inspector Shahista Mughal were its members.

The charge sheet has been filed against three people -- Sajjad Altaf Rather, Mohammed Saleem Kumar and a juvenile, against whom the police want to press charges as an adult because of his involvement in the crime.

According to the charge sheet, the juvenile helped the police recover the black glass bottle that was used to throw acid on the victim's face.

Police had also noticed injury marks on the upper side of the juvenile's right hand. He was taken to a hospital for examination and doctors opined that the injury was caused by some chemical substance.

"During the course of investigation, it also came to light that the victim had rejected the marriage proposal of the accused". This angered the accused and he decided to "teach her a lesson" and "conspired to take Dire Revenge from the victim".

The SIT also recorded separate statements of Rather and the juvenile about the route taken by them. Their statements were corroborated by obtaining CCTV footage.

Mobile phone records as well as locations of the accused have also been annexed with the charge sheet to corroborate the conspiracy angle in the case.

Rather, who is the main accused in the case, had returned to the medical store, where he was working as a salesman, after committing the crime.

The victim is undergoing treatment at a Chennai hospital and a businessman-turned-politician is bearing all the expenses.

According to the nonprofit United States Naval Institute, plans are to remove the two 155mm guns from each destroyer and replace them with missile tubes for the Common Hypersonic Glide Body being developed for the Army, Air Force and the Navy

Few details have been released, but the hypersonic missiles are expected to fly at 17 times the speed of sound to attack targets nearly 2,000 miles away. Unlike ballistic missiles, they will be maneuverable in flight to avoid anti-missile systems.

San Diego-based General Atomics is one of the defense contractors working on the hypersonic program.

Russia and China claim to already have working hypersonic missiles, although U.S. officials say the ones reportedly used against Ukraine were actually traditional ballistic missiles launched from aircraft.

#1  to attack targets nearly 2,000 miles away

Isn't that a little 'off-mission'?

#2  Given the test results, I'm surprised we have any that work.
Or are they building the platforms on the assumption the missiles will be ready by the time the ships are ready?
Or are the missiles ready now and just wrapped in competent military/government secrecy....naw, that's just crazy talk.....

#3  How many gun rounds vs how many missiles will it take to provide shore bombardment, which was supposed to be the mission for those guns? Of course, that is assuming that you would ever get the ammunition for those guns, which nobody was manufacturing, and would be prohibitively expensive.

The Zumwalts are an answer in search of a question that nobody asked except for defense contractors and their pet congressmen. Should simply upgrade the Arleigh Burkes with the gains from the research done for the Zumwalts, and buy more of them.

#4  Some good work on the Zumwalts here. I saw one underway a couple of years ago. I hadn't realized just how big those suckers are until I saw one.

#5  Well, they are trying to apply lessons learned. Only time will tell.

#6  Of course, both the Fitzgerald and the McCain are Burkes. Having a great ship doesn't mean much if the bridge crew is so dysfunctional that they can't avoid a freighter.

#7  Who cares if they can't compare to the old Rocks and Shoals requirements, nor the old Bluejackets manual from a couple of decades ago? All that matters these days is social justice. The admirals in the pentagon make sure those destroyer officers obey orders to get vaxxed, and most importantly, they use the correct pronouns! That's what matters to them.
