Biden officials are exploring ways to provide abortion access for pregnant women and girls in U.S. immigration custody in states with bans, four U.S. officials who requested anonymity to discuss the government plans told Reuters.
Many federal shelters for unaccompanied children apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border are located in Texas, where a Republican-backed law that went into effect in September banned abortions at six weeks.
For the past nine months, U.S. health officials have been flying or driving minors from Texas shelters to other states for abortions. Advocates say more guidance is needed now, and fast.

Joe Biden’s culture war against our own armed forces is being conducted on several fronts: including pursuing the pet social engineering projects beloved to the Left at the expense of readiness and capability of our forces (for example, exercises in CRT, diversity, inclusion, and equity); dictating the rules of engagement (ROE) that hinder our troops’ ability to fight an enemy that often times doesn’t wear traditional military uniforms, hiding behind women’s burqas, and operating from schools and mosques; and slashing the necessary funding for force modernization and sustainability. As a result, our armed services are facing historic lows in recruiting and lack of American public confidence. In short, we are no longer the world’s preeminent military power, and we will lose wars going forward.
Who wants to serve in a military that prioritizes purely political agendas over patriotism, success, and selfless service? Who wants to serve senior leaders who don’t understand or embrace the traditional meritocracy of the world’s once greatest military force? Apparently, not many. The U.S. military has a serious recruiting problem, and it needs to be fixed ASAP. For the first time since the institution of the “all-volunteer force” in 1973, 2022 is shaping up as the most challenging recruiting year to date. The Army has announced that it will have to cut its size by 12,000 troops due to the inability to fill its ranks and, after five months into the year is at only 23 percent of its goal. The Air Force’s top recruiter has declared “warning lights are flashing” for meeting 2022 goals. The Marine Corps, which normally has little problem meeting and exceeding its goals this fiscal year, is likewise falling short of needed personnel. A recent Department of Defense poll asked young adults ages 16-21, “How likely is it you will serve in the military?” Approximately only 11 percent responded “definitely or probably.” And that is trending down, precipitously. Senator Thom Tillis (R – NC) summed it thusly: “To put it bluntly, I’m worried we are now in the early days of a long-term threat to the all-volunteer force, with a small and declining numbers of Americans who are eligible and interested in military service.” Adding, “Every single metric tracking metric tracking the military recruiting environment is going in the wrong direction.”
The debacle in withdrawing from Afghanistan, in addition to the in-your-face implementation of command directives that have nothing to do with fighting and winning wars, is largely to blame. Americans are rapidly losing confidence in our military, traditionally one of our most revered institutions. According to the Reagan Institute, confidence in our military has dropped to 45 percent, the sharpest decline and the lowest level since the surveys began. Sixty-two percent of those surveyed disapproved of the Biden administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. Eisenhower’s adage was spot on, but our current leadership doesn’t get it. Morale is key to our military institutions and their success. And, clearly, people don’t want to serve and put their lives and families on the line for a government that doesn’t value them.
Only with new leadership, and leadership that can disassociate itself from the onslaught of woke policies and reinstate the patriotic call to serve, will the United States restore our ability to win militarily. The damage has been done but we can recover. Make it happen this November and November, 2024. Our future as a republic depends on it.

[RODINANANEVE] A few days ago something happened that many (including me) refused to believe until the very end. Even despite the obvious omen in the form of an exchange of "paramedic" Tyra .

First of all, Donetsk, which just yesterday again experienced one of the most terrible days since the beginning of the war. And I'm not talking about 2022. But, you know, for me personally, the key marker of everything is still the exchange of “Azov”. Like some kind of dominant event. In his light, we will talk. Today I'm just going to share my experience with you. It took me a few days to put it all in my head and somehow summarize.
And I will divide my impressions into several blocks.
I. Form. And the form of what happened, to put it mildly, is not encouraging. Society was simply confronted with a fact: they exchanged everything. Before that, again, repeatedly vowing that this would not happen. Moreover, by and large, they did not begin to talk with society even after the incident. I demonstrate complete disrespect and even some kind of nobility. The passages of a number of guards that, they say, who are you to ask, I will not even mention.
II. Content. It is not so conspicuous, but, if you look, much more sad. Let's start with the fact that I stubbornly did not leave the feeling of natural schizoidness of what was happening. In the direct, medical, sense of the word: “shiza” is a bifurcation. So, on the one hand, we are liberating Severodonetsk and Lysichansk, and on the other hand, they are liberating the “Azovites”, making “goodwill gestures” and allowing the resumption of the artillery genocide in the Donbass.
Moreover, this "shiza" caught my eye not only to me. The author of one of the Donetsk TG channels uttered a very characteristic phrase that he no longer wants to use the word "denazification". I don't think I need to explain why. And this problem is much deeper than his emotions. Moreover, its roots are at a fundamental level. They are in the very official lack of ideology that our leaders are so proud of.
Here are the results in practice: the declared denazification, which is a purely ideological goal, is not realized in practice. Because our non-ideological arbiters in uniform simply do not understand what exactly they are doing.
III. Impression. And this is the biggest moment. First, what happened is disgusting. I say this directly, not at all embarrassed by the emotional coloring of this phrase. It is also disgusting because the infernal reptiles with human blood on their hands were released (and it is there, which has already become clear).
And according to the very form of presentation to people: first silence, then a lie (that completely innocent disabled people who were not involved in crimes were exchanged, and then it turned out the opposite), and then aggression and an attempt at dirty manipulation - they say, are you against the release of our guys ? I don't want to comment on this at all.
Once again, this is gross. It's just gross. Well, according to the results, too: the enemy propagandistically won back this whole festival of "good will" by 100 percent. I have already watched the interviews of the characters from Azovstal, who were exchanged, who say that, they say, "They were respected in captivity." Guys, the very glorification of hellish creatures, which I warned about a few months ago, is happening with your hands.
IV. Conclusions.
First (and most importantly): the situation has shown that in fact we are now having two wars. And at once on several planes. Firstly, they are different for the lower classes (for whom it is popular and sacred) and the upper classes (for whom it is generally not clear what drives it).
Secondly, on the part of the official Russian Federation, it is “pragmatic” (because of which such exchanges and such “goodwill gestures” become possible), and on the part of Ukraine, it is ideological (and that says it all, including in terms of further developments on their part).
Thirdly, on the part of the Russian Federation, this is a war of a “limited contingent”, “humane” and in general “on the floor of a bump” (excuse my French), and on the part of Ukraine this is a total war with all the consequences, which I also spoke about literally just now .
The second conclusion: now the desire of the Moscow authorities (at least part of it) to reach an agreement is already clearly recorded. I say right away to citizens, guards and patriots on the payroll: I am not going to discuss this thesis from the word “in general”. It's just a fact that I postulate. His statement is an ultimatum.
Well, the third conclusion. Which personally calms me down. And he is still the same: the enemy has once again shown that he will not betray us under any circumstances. His reaction to all these obscene and disgusting proposals of an agreement is so obvious and eloquent that it does not even need to be commented on.
Summing up all this, I can say that it may even be for the better. As they say, what happened is so bad it's good. Against the background of the impenetrable brutality of the enemy and his unwillingness to negotiate in any form, a painful, but necessary birth of a new reality will inevitably occur. Which are already too late. And what happened has every chance to accelerate them.
There is only one thing that worries me: the waste of time. Because while behind the high fortress walls it reaches some like a giraffe, the country and the army are wasting time. Meanwhile, American MLRS and high-precision barreled artillery are moving towards the enemy.
Gentlemen, who care for the “war with small forces” and still deny the need for a transition to general mobilization, probably want to wait until the number of these guns goes into the hundreds, and American F-16 fighters and modern air defense systems are also added to them? If you do not finish off the enemy at least in the Donbass before this happens, our country will have to win in blood up to the nostrils. But that will be a completely different story.

Kukhmirov is expressing his disappointment over the expressed sentiments by the Russian military and political establishment, concerning the prisoner exchange which let some Azov militia return to Ukraine, and at the Russian abandonment of Snake Island, characterized as a "good will gesture."
It must be noted that virtually every Russian correspondent/blogger that I have read, share the same sentiments.

[ColonelCassad] The Parliament of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) lifted on Friday the moratorium on executions of death sentences. This was reported by the press service of the People's Council of the Republic.
“The People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic lifted the moratorium on the execution of death sentences,” the parliament’s Telegram channel said in a statement. This legal norm will come into force after the publication of the DPR law “On Amendments to Article 202 of the Penal Code of the Donetsk People’s Republic”, which was adopted on July 8 as part of the regular plenary session of the autumn session of the DPR People’s Council of the 2nd convocation.
As Yelena Shishkina, chairman of the Committee on Criminal and Administrative Legislation, explained in her speech to the parliament on Friday, “the draft law proposes to recognize part 9 of article 202 of the Criminal Executive Code as invalid.” This paragraph stated that the provisions of the code on the execution of the death penalty come into force on January 1, 2025.

[France24] FBI Director Christopher Wray on Tuesday urged China-born people in the United States to contact the FBI if Chinese officials try to force them to return to China under a program of coercion that he said is led by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The first thing he ought to do this time around - fire every person legally possible, then fire more of them.
I've often thought that since Trump's total experience (like mine) was in the private sector, he wasn't expecting the massive and open defiance he got from people who were nominally his employees. Hopefully he's learned that lesson and will get rid of a lot more of them. And have Congress revise the Civil Service Act so that he can fire more of them.
