#5 You have to read Sword and Scimitar by Raymond Ibrahim to get a clearer sense of the underlying basis for the early evangelical/political motivations of Islam, as well as the absolute imperative for conquest at the root of its long, cruel and bloody history. The fall of Constantinople and the desecration of the Hagia Sophia are a stunning insight, and Ibrahim uses original sources from Islam and CHristianity to make his point.
