Man Burns Genitals in 'Jackass' Stunt

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Attempts to do a movie stunt landed one man in the hospital with burned genitals and another facing criminal charges. The men were trying to do a stunt from one of the "Jackass" movies, in which a character lights his genitals on fire.
"I saw this cool movie, where a guy sets his wang on fire. Let's try it!"
Jared W. Anderson, 20, suffered serious burns to his hands and genitals, according to the criminal complaint. Randell D. Peterson, 43, who sprayed lighter fluid on Anderson and lit him on fire, was charged with felony battery and first-degree reckless endangerment Tuesday in Eau Claire County Court. Peterson?
His cousin, Kermit Dickson, is also implicated.
Witnesses told police that Anderson, who was drunk, volunteered to do the stunt Sunday after watching the movie, the complaint said. Drunk? Imagine that.

According to the complaint:

Anderson pulled down his pants and let Peterson spray him with lighter fluid. When the fire didn't catch, Peterson sprayed more lighter fluid on Anderson, splashing some on his clothing. He tried again to light the fire, catching Anderson's genitals, hands and clothes.
Direct removal from the gene pool.
Anderson ran into the bathroom, jumped into the tub and put the flames out. Other guests took him to Luther Hospital, and eventually he was treated at the Regions Hospital Burn Unit in St. Paul, Minn., for second-degree burns. Anderson told police who were called to the hospital that he didn't want anyone to get in trouble because of the stunt.

Peterson was freed on a $2,000 signature bond. He has a hearing scheduled April 16. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

#1  Taggers huh? I call them vandals, and they should be punished very harshly. Like maybe amputating a hand or something.

#2  The comparison with an Aardman animation, like "Creature Comforts", was unavoidable.

The best solution for taggers I've heard of was a businessman who installed a few pressure paint nozzles, and a discreet camera.

When the taggers came up to the wall, the security guy would 'spot', and one of his employees would turn one of several valves on the other side of the wall. If he was standing directly in front of the nozzle, he would get painted bright green.

The employees loved it, and kept the videos of their best 'hits'.

Saudis amputate right hand of Pakistani thief
A Pakistani convicted of robbery had his right hand amputated in a public square in compliance with Islamic law on Wednesday, the Saudi Interior Ministry said in a statement. Mohammed Haji Ghoulam had been convicted of theft in the holy city of Medina, said the statement, which did not disclose what he stole. His right hand was amputated at the wrist, the statement added.

I think "amputated" is a bit euphemistic - "hacked off" would be more accurate IMO.

#3  And when the Islamists destroy everything in the Saudi Arabia collection, who will they blame?
Most medieval and Renaissance art is based on Christian religious themes. Therefore it is anathema to Islamists, even more so than art for art's sake.

Sweden: Muslim women expelled from pool can't sue
Two Muslim women who were expelled from a public swimming pool because of their clothing were not victims of discrimination, a Swedish court ruled Wednesday. The women, who wore headscarves, sweat pants and long-sleeved T-shirts, accompanied their children to the pool in Goteborg on two separate occasions in April 2004, but were asked to leave after refusing to change clothes.

Lifeguards said their clothes would pose a safety risk in case they needed to jump into the water to help their children, court documents showed. Pool regulations stated that all parents accompanying their children to the pool must be ready to assist them in an emergency.

Sweden's Ombudsman against Ethnic Discrimination sued the city of Goteborg, saying that other people with full clothing were not asked to leave the pool, and said the women had been singled out because of their religion.

A passable swimmer in western full clothes can still swim short distances in an emergency specially if he has no shoes. Now let's have this ombusman against ethnic discriminations show us he can swim in a burkha. No lifesavers around of course.

#4  Icerigger, I note that the Mufti in Coppenhagen said that women who did not wear the veil were asking for it.

Similar to Mufti of Australia Sheik Taj el-Din al-Hilali who gave a sermon at Lakemba mosque blaming non-Muslim women for rape, and saying if they didn't wear the hijab then men shouldn't be blamed for raping her.

Also he said women should be imprisoned for rape.

But his worst comments have been sanitised in Australian media down to "He caused controversy when he likened women to uncovered meat" - taking all the religion out of it and all the reference to blaming the victim for rape.

House Committee vote fails to impeach Katsav
In its third and final meeting on the matter, the Knesset House Committee on Wednesday failed to pass a motion to impeach President Moshe Katsav. Seven MKs voted in favor of impeachment, four voted against and two abstained. Even before the vote took place, however, the motion was destined to fail because at least 19 of the 25 committee members would have needed to vote in order for it to pass.

#3  The local Muslim leaders would flip out if he asked for *anonymous* Muslims to come on his show to condemn terrorism. They would seriously freak out, because most of their strength comes from pretending that the entire community is monolithic in their beliefs.

That might even be a national draw. If things got too hot in the studio, he could go somewhere else for "secret interviews". It would even have a comic element, using voice distortion equipment.

I hope somebody suggests this to him.
