[Guns America Digest] A 17-year-old from Illinois has been charged with first-degree homicide after his involvement in two separate shootings Tuesday that left two people dead and one wounded at the Jacob Blake protests in Kenosha, Wi.
The Village of Antioch Police Department announced in a Facebook post on Wednesday that Kenosha authorities had charged Antioch resident Kyle Rittenhouse with the crime. He is in the custody of the Lake County Judicial System pending an extradition hearing to transfer custody from Illinois to Wisconsin.
That would be Kenosha County District Attorney Michael Graveley.
Viral videos of both incidents rocketed around social media yesterday. In the first, a person who appears to be Rittenhouse carrying an AR-15 can be seen running away from a protester who throws something on fire at him.
Moments later, eight shots ring out, though it isn’t clear how many of them come from Rittenhouse’s rifle. At least some of the shots came from an unknown gunman who fired into the air, according to the New York Times. A man lies on the ground between two cars, and Rittenhouse circles around while speaking on the phone.
People can be heard yelling "Call 911! Get help!" Rittenhouse, still on the phone, runs from the scene and out of the frame.
Rittenhouse shot the man in the head, and he later died.

With the DAs letting violent rioters go and charging those that defend themselves, you will start to see violence against them.

There was a lot of repairs being done in the Whitehouse basement right after they left, that could indicate extensive plumbing replacement/revitalization.

I have this image of a bathroom reminiscent of the 1970s Plaza Hotel. Large white porcelain fixtures and white tile. Grout a bit damaged, a hint of mold. The toilet seat is a bit loose.

[East Idaho News] Lawmakers debated for two hours on Tuesday morning about whether they should move forward with a concurrent resolution that they said would eliminate the governor's emergency declaration regarding the coronavirus pandemic.
Debate in the Idaho House of Representatives revolved around Rep. Steven Harris' House Concurrent Resolution 1, which would end Gov. Brad Little's

disaster declaration first imposed months ago.
Supporters of the resolution argued that Little exercised overreach by continuing to extend the declaration. Opponents of the resolution outlined that if the disaster declaration ended, Idaho would no longer be eligible for some needed FEMA funding. FEMA has paid for things such as personal protective equipment used by hospitals and long-term care facilities.
Ultimately, the concurrent resolution passed with a 48-20 vote, with two members absent. It still must be approved by the Senate.
There also was disagreement about whether the legislators even had the right to debate ending Little's declaration because it was not included in the governor's proclamation calling the Legislature into special session. Article IV, Section 9, of the Idaho Constitution states clearly that "when so convened it (the Legislature) shall have no power to legislate on any subjects other than those specified in the proclamation."
"I just feel that we are taking up something that we're not constitutionally authorized to take up," said Rep. Scott Syme, R-Caldwell.
Rep. Brent Crane, R-Nampa, said he thought the subject matter of the resolution did fall within the bounds of the governor's special session proclamation.
Harris, R-Meridian, argued that the disaster declaration has had an emotional, financial and mental impact on residents.
"The main objection of course was to ensure hospitals weren't overrun," Harris said about the governor's declaration. "It turns out in Idaho we've never even come close."
Harris' statement was not true, as the both the Nampa and Meridian St. Luke's ICUs have previously reported reaching or nearing capacity because of the coronavirus.
Rep. Vito Barbieri, R-Dalton Gardens, supported lifting the governor's declaration, largely saying he doesn't believe coronavirus is an emergency.
"This declaration should have been done two months ago," Barbieri said prior to the vote.
He went on to claim that masks are only a "political statement" and have no value. That statement is false, as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as multiple local health professionals, have repeatedly said that masks can help prevent transmission.
At one point, Barbieri actually claimed that hospitals are inflating COVID-19 numbers to get more federal funding. "Hospitals are making up the statistics," he said.
Hospital officials from St. Luke's and Saint Alphonsus Health Systems refuted the statement later Tuesday. No evidence exists that health care systems have lied about COVID-19 admissions or numbers.
Other lawmakers, including Rep. Brooke Green, D-Boise, expressed concern about how removing the governor's emergency declaration could affect FEMA funding.
"We may think and we may hope and we may wish this virus away, but it's not going away," Green said prior to the vote.
Green noted that FEMA funding is used not only for the pandemic, but also for issues such as fires and floods.
"In coming months, we do not know what this is going to throw our way," she said. "We have an obligation to provide for our communities."
Republican Rep. Laurie Lickley, of Jerome, was also concerned about access to FEMA funding. "The financial impact is not acceptable," Lickley said prior to her no vote.
House Speaker Rep. Scott Bedke, R-Oakley, supported the concurrent resolution. "It should be improper to extend a disaster declaration ad infinitum," Bedke said prior to his yes vote.
Bedke felt the Legislature should be involved in decisions about continuing to extend declarations and argued that Little hadn't involved them.
"The legislative branch lacks the tools, the government lacks the tools to act in a balanced way in a crisis," Bedke said from the floor....

The leading Democrat’s call for Biden to sit out the debates comes after the former vice president’s campaign refused Trump’s request for more than three debates.
Trump senses an opportunity against Biden after using debating forums to crush a series of competitors in 2016. This month, Trump unsuccessfully asked the Commission on Presidential Debates to reschedule one of the debates with Biden to early September, so voters could tune in before casting mail-in ballots.
Trump often claims Biden, 77, is senile, and on Wednesday suggested that Biden be drug-tested before the debates to make sure he doesn’t use performance-enhancing drugs.

I remember when Biden debated Paul Ryan in 2012. I'm sure Nancy remembers too but prefers not to speak about it. Almost every time when it was Ryan's turn to speak, Biden would interrupt and talk all over whatever it was Ryan was trying to say. He was like an obnoxious old drunk in a bar who needs to have a taxi called for him. It was disgusting. But, then, that's the way democrats debate because they know they'll lose if their opponent gets to speak. Tim Kane tried it on Pence but made himself look ridiculous in the process. I think the worst example of this behavior was when Lloyd Bentsen interrupted Dan Quayle to tell him he was no Jack Kennedy. Quayle should have taken it as a complement. Hillary didn't dare pull that shit on Trump and it's doubtful that Biden even has it in him anymore. The only way to prove that he does is to debate.

A stunning statistic that I read the other day said that Hillary Clinton who won over 2 million more popular votes than Donald Trump in 2016, only carried 61 counties in the United States out of a total of 3100. [PJMedia] Anti-Trump singer/actress Bette Midler was so triggered by first lady Melania Trump’s speech on Tuesday night that she went on a blatantly xenophobic Twitter rant.
"She can speak several words in a few languages. Get that illegal alien off the stage!" she tweeted. [Links to Tweets follow]
Midler’s ranting continued with the tweet, "Why are they promoting this awful person, #melania? Was it in her contract?'
But the worst came in her next tweeet, when she lamented, "Oh, God. She still can't speak English."
Bette Midler apologized for a series of tweets in which she insulted Melania Trump’s Slovenian-accented English.
The Jewish singer-actress wrote the mocking tweets during the first lady’s speech at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday night. The tweets have been deleted.
Midler also tweeted during other Tuesday night speeches.
On Wednesday, she acknowledged that she was wrong to mock the first lady.
"Well, all hell has broken loose because I said Melania ’still can’t speak English’ last night. I was wrong to make fun of her accent. America is made up people who speak with all kinds of accents, and they are all welcomed always," she tweeted.
Some of Midler’s critics noted that Melania Trump speaks five languages — Slovenian, English, French, Italian and German — and told the actress that she was being unnecessarily mean.

That kurva slob. From what I can tell, Midler didn't say she was trying to be funny, which could have been written off as poor, bad-taste humor. But no, this was mean-spirited. More hypocritical filth from the Left.
