[Breitbart] A dark money group aligned with Democrat Senate Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) brought in a record $92 million in dark money from anonymous donors while Schumer blasted Republicans for using dark money.
Majority Forward is a nonprofit organization affiliated with Schumer’s Senate Majority PAC. Between July 2019 and June 2020, Majority Forward hauled in $92 million, according to the organization’s most recently released tax forms.
During the 2020 election cycle, Majority Forward gave Schumer’s Senate Majority PAC $51 million in contributions, making it the largest donor to Schumer’s PAC.
While Schumer benefitted from millions of dark money dollars, he criticized Republicans for doing the same thing. Schumer also pushed the Senate to pass the For the People Act, which contains provisions requiring political nonprofits to disclose donors who contribute more than $10,000.
“Majority Forward is kind of a dark money empire that the Democrat Party really doesn’t want to talk about, especially Chuck Schumer,” said Parker Thayer, a Capital Research Center investigator.
“The Democratic Party makes a big deal in public about getting rid of dark money, getting dark money out of politics, but the reality is even the New York Times is now reporting on this,” Thayer told Fox News.
Thayer referred to a recent New York Times report that found 15 of the most active Democrat dark money organizations outspent the top 15 Republican groups by a margin of over $600 million. Those Democrat dark money groups spent $1.5 billion during the 2020 cycle, compared to $900 million for Republican organizations.
Although Democrat dark money groups spent more than Republican groups in 2020, pro-GOP super PACs outraised their Democrat counterparts in 2021. For example, the pro-GOP Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) raised double what the pro-democrat House Majority PAC did.
Last year, CLF brought in $110 million, compared to House Majority PAC’s $55 million.
[FoxNews] Andre Locke, father of the man who was killed, called for 22 days of peace in memory of his son. 'Because we aren't police bashers,' he said
More than 1,000 protesters marched in Minneapolis on Saturday, seeking action following last week’s police "no knock" warrant shooting death of Amir Locke, according to reports.
Locke’s death was the latest in a string of controversial incidents in Minnesota in recent years involving confrontations between Black men and police.
The latest shooting happened early Wednesday inside an apartment as police conducted a raid in connection with a murder in St. Paul, FOX 9 of Minneapolis reported.
Locke was not named in the warrant, the Star Tribune of Minneapolis reported.
Court records show that another man living in the apartment had threatened police during a 2018 arrest, FOX 9 reported.
Choose your friends carefully, lest the lesson be fatal.
Police video of the raid suggested Locke, 22, had been sleeping on a couch, wrapped in a blanket, when police entered the apartment and fatally shot him within seconds, the station reported. The video also shows that Locke was holding a gun at the time.
On Saturday, the crowd gathered around 3 p.m. outside the Hennepin County Government Center then marched for about three hours in cold temperatures, FOX 9 reported.
‘WE AREN’T POLICE BASHERS'
Speakers at the gathering included Andre Locke, father of the man who was killed. He called for 22 days of peace in memory of his son.
"Because we aren’t police bashers," the father said, according to FOX 9. But he called for the removal of what he called "bad seeds" from the city’s police force.
"There’s great officers that are White. There’s great officers, period," he said. "But they have bad seeds. They have the bad seeds and those bad seeds are the ones who don’t need to be in our communities."
On Friday, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey said he would ban "no knock" warrants for police in most situations.
But Saturday’s marchers held signs opposing Frey, with messages such as "Frey lied, Amir died," and called for Frey and Minneapolis police Chief Amelia Huffman to step down, FOX 9 reported. Protesters noted that Frey had previously promised to end "no knock" warrants in Minneapolis in 2020, after the police shooting death of Breonna Taylor in Louisville, Kentucky, in similar circumstances.
But police continued seeking and obtaining "no knock" warrants afterward – even though Frey, a Democrat, claimed in campaign literature prior to his November re-election that such warrants had been eliminated, the Star Tribune reported. Police obtained more than a dozen such warrants in the past month alone, the newspaper noted. Frey told the Star Tribune that he is not notified when a judge issues a "no knock" warrant.
Police said after Wednesday’s shooting that Locke possessed a gun, but attorneys representing Locke’s family said Locke owned the firearm legally and didn’t appear to understand what was happening before he was fatally shot, FOX 9 reported.
A man who tried to burn down a high school during the BLM riots in Minneapolis after George Floyd's death was sentenced to just five years of probation
On Thursday, Mohamed Hussein Abdi pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit arson in a St. Paul courtroom, according to court documents
The 20-year-old will also have to pay over $34,000 to Gordon Parks High School
Abdi was arrested one month after attempting to burn the high school down in June 2020
He gained entry to the building through a glass door that had been broken amidst the George Floyd BLM riots
Security footage showed him pouring liquid from a container onto the school's cafeteria floor as well as a nearby trash can before fleeing the burning building
There was $500 million worth of damage and over 1,500 business damaged or destroyed in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area alone

So 1,000 Far Left liberals, many likely just there hoping to get a protest weekend hook-update. Protest that Amir Locke was shot and killed with a firearm. In a place that qualified under the NEW 2021 super restrictive No Kock Warrant Issuing Guidelines.
But hold on wasn't it the LIBERALs back during Obama that were screaming and demanding all police MUST BE have Bodycams?
Wasn't part of the liberals selling point and reason so as to openly and quickly show if Police actions were or weren't justified? So we could avoid such Public Misunderstandings/Protests/Riots as these?
But now, despite having Bodycam video CLEARLY showing that Locke had a gun with at the time of the Police Executed No-Knock Warrant. The liberals are still protesting????
What do they want KOREAN Police Firearm usage rules?
3 requests to drop the weapon, then a fire Blank round.
Then reissue the warning again before shooting a live round?
Maybe these Liberal idiots need to read up on the NUTROLL a Minnesota Police Officer needs to go thru to get a no-knock warrant and how restricted it is to execute it IF THEY CAN. 2021 Minnesota Statutes

Police said after Wednesday’s shooting that Locke possessed a gun, but attorneys representing Locke’s family said Locke owned the firearm legally and didn’t appear to understand what was happening before he was fatally shot, FOX 9 reported.
This is the money quote as far as I'm concerned. Dude was literally sleeping on a couch, minding his own business, and they weren't looking for him. He probably had no idea his idiot friend had mouthed off to the cops four years ago.

Yeah, no. It's the ice coating cracking, falling off etc. Branches may snap from the weight of ice, but they're not popping like frozen water pipes.
I always liked the aftermath of a little freezing rain, so long as I don't have to drive anywhere.

Last year's 'worst ever' freeze in North Texas at 139 hours below freezing was compared to other long-term events on the teevee news last night. Last year's freeze was tied for fifth place.
Worst ever (recorded) was in December, 1983 with 295 hours below freezing - just over twelve days!
Footnote: One hour before last February's 139-hour freeze, the temperature was 33 degrees. For 93 hours prior, it was sub-freezing. So last February, there was 232 hours below freezing, with a one hour break. DFW Freeze Summary

[WashingtonExaminer] Black Lives Matter's fundraising pages on ActBlue were deactivated Friday, a day after the Washington Examiner exposed that BLM was still accepting donations on the Democratic platform despite claiming it had stopped amid questions about its finances.
Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, and Washington state ordered BLM in January to cease soliciting contributions in their states until it discloses its finances for 2020, the year it raked in tens of millions during the nationwide unrest prompted by St. George Floyd ...the patron saint of Minneapolis, a sterling example for our children and indeed for us all. St. George was martyed by the Devil's agents in blue while standing on a street corner preaching tolerance and racial justice or something like that... 's killing at the hands of police. Nb. This is Kerry's stepson. Kerry is one of the most corrupt of all our Congresscritter insider traders.
Remarkably, [Obama appointee Judge Ronnie] Abram's husbandwas a federal prosecutor in Robert Mueller's Russia investigation and part of the team that seized passports and restricted travel for high-profile defendants like Paul Manafort and his business partner Rick Gates.
Archer did not face the same restrictions. As he awaited trial since summer 2016 and since his conviction in summer 2018, Archer has been allowed to travel freely across the globe.
His travel log, enumerated in the court documents, reads like the travels of an American secretary of state: Russia, Mexico, China, Spain, Italy, the former Soviet republics of Kazakhstan and Ukraine, the money laundering capital of Latvia,Hong Kong, London, Singapore and the French Antilles, to name a few.
(Maybe he is indeed traveling as a representative of the former Secretary of State i.e. as bagman for stepdad John Kerry.... Inquiring minds want to know)

[Breitbart] The massive flow of migrants crossing the Rio Grande into the Del Rio Sector is shattering last year’s record pace, according to the sector chief. Apprehensions in some stations are up more than 215 percent over the record set in 2021.
Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens tweeted a shocking report that stations in his sector are experiencing an increase in apprehensions of 215 percent — some as high as 350 percent. The increases catapulted the sector into first place over the Rio Grande Valley Sector.
Breitbart Texas visited the Del Rio Sector last week to meet with Texas National Guard officials regarding Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star border security mission. While in Eagle Pass, Texas, Breitbart witnessed the steady flow of mostly Venezuelan migrants where more than 50 crossed at a single location in just two hours.
During the first three months of Fiscal Year 22, which began on October 1, 2021, Del Rio Sector agents apprehended more than 91,000 migrants who illegally crossed the Mexican border into Texas between ports of entry, according to the Southwest Land Border Encounters report for December. This marks an increase of more than 247 percent over the same period last year when agents apprehended only 26,000 migrants.
Del Rio took the lead in January as the busiest of the nine southwest border sectors. Agents apprehended an estimated 31,000 migrants during January, according to a source operating under the umbrella of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This was down slightly from January when Del Rio agents apprehended about 33,000 migrants.
Rio Grande Valley Sector agents, normally the busiest in the nation, apprehended slightly less than the Del Rio Sector in January. These agents apprehended just over 30,000 migrants.
[Breitbart] Friday, FNC host Tucker Carlson criticized the Biden White House claims of a possible Russian false flag operation and the willingness of some in Washington, DC to side with the Biden administration on the U.S. response to a potential Russia-Ukraine dust-up.

[Breitbart] Laredo Sector Border Patrol agents stopped more than 800 migrants from illegally crossing the Rio Grande into Texas last week, according to the sector chief. In addition, the agents apprehended 2,000 more who crossed the border into South Texas between ports of entry.
Laredo Sector Chief Patrol Agent Carl E. Landrum tweeted images of migrants being smuggled into the U.S. from Mexico. The images also show some migrants being stopped from crossing the border river and sending them back to Mexico.
In addition to the 800 turn-backs, agents apprehended more than 2,000 migrants in one week.
The Laredo Sector is the only southwest border sector to report a decrease in migrant apprehensions for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 22. Agents apprehended nearly 23,000 migrants — down from more than 25,000 during the same period last year, according to the December Southwest Land Border Encounters report.

After the killing, Iran's intelligence minister, Mahmoud Alavi, claimed that two months earlier, he had warned security forces that there was an assassination plot targeting Mr Fakhrizadeh at the exact location where he was shot.

I'm reminded of James Jesus Angleton and the massive turmoil within the CIA searching for the mole, and the Hanson story that moles can be anyone. Some cultures are especially vulnerable to believe in betrayal by the most trusted, because they have it as an embedded cultural norm. Iran comes to mind and tremendous damage can be wrought by mere inference, even when it is so unlikely, or is it?

GO-F_ME still accepted funds under false pretenses.
Not charging them is akin to not charging a bank embezzler, that returns the money. However, the 1000's of felony level crimes were still committed.
Once GO-F-Me accepted the account setup.
Then collected 10's, IF not 100's of 1000's of individual donations.
Collected their skim fee (interest or whatever).
Only to decide they'd not honor their own EUA and legal disclaimers.
Plus publicly hint of misappropriations and possible redirection of the funds.

[Dawn] The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday that the clearance operation in Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... , which was launched after turbans attacked security forces camps in the province's Panjgur and Naushki areas late on Wednesday evening, had been completed.
Twenty bad boyz were potted during operations after the attacks, the military's media affairs wing said in a statement, adding that nine security personnel had embraced martyrdom.
"Both attacks were repulsed successfully by prompt response from troops at both locations," the ISPR said.
It added that nine of the bad boyz were potted in Naushki and four security personnel, including an officer, were martyred during an exchange of fire with the snuffies there.
In Panjgur, the ISPR said, security forces had repulsed the terrorist attack after an intense exchange of fire during which some of the snuffies had fled the area.
Security forces had carried out a clearance operation to hunt down the hiding turbans in the vicinity, it said, adding that initially four fleeing bad boyz were potted there and as many were encircled by security forces the next day.
"All encircled bad boyz were potted in today’s (Saturday) operation as they failed to surrender," the ISPR said.
The military's media wing said five soldiers, including a junior commissioned officer, were martyred and six injured during follow-up operations in Panjgur over the past 72 hours.
Moreover, the ISPR said, three terrorists, including two high-value targets, linked to the attacks were killed in Kech district's Balgatar area on Friday.
These bad boyz were potted in a follow up clearance operation conducted at a makeshift terrorist hideout.
"Our security forces stand firm and resolutely committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism from our soil no matter [at] what the cost," the ISPR said.
Earlier, the ISPR had said intelligence agencies had intercepted communications between the turbans who carried out attacks in Balochistan and their handlers in Afghanistan and India.
The attacks in Naushki and Panjgur were claimed by the banned holy warrior outfit Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
...a common enough name in Arabia, in this case more fully Mohammed Mani Ahmad al-Qahtani, but in the Rantburg archives he appears as Mohammed al-Kahtani and Mohamed al-Kahtani ...
who also suffers mental health issues, was dropped in 2008 after he was tortured
American authorities have recommended releasing a mentally ill inmate from Guantanamo Bay and repatriating him to Saudi Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century... , according to a government document published Friday.
Suspected of being al-Qaeda’s intended 20th hijacker for the September 11, 2001 attacks against the United States, Mohammed al-Qahtani was tortured by interrogators at the US military base in Cuba, where he has been detained for nearly two decades.
The government dropped its case against him in 2008 due to the abuse he experienced at the prison.
The detention of al-Qahtani is "no longer necessary to protect against a continuing significant threat to the security of the United States," the Periodic Review Board, a panel composed of several US national security agencies, said in a summary of its decision. "He's crazy. I mean loony tunes-crazy"
In its final determination dated February 4, the board said al-Qahtani was "eligible for transfer" and recommended that he be repatriated to Saudi Arabia, where he could receive comprehensive mental health care and be enrolled in a rehabilitation center for holy warriors.
Because the Saudi rehab program has worked so well thus far?
The body noted his "significantly compromised mental health condition and available family support."
The same family from which he launched into Al Qaeda? Another winning choice. We’ll see if the Saudi Arabia of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is up to the challenge.
Security measures, including surveillance and travel restrictions, were also recommended.
Al-Qahtani was one of the first prisoners sent to Guantanamo in January 2002.
He had flown to Orlando, Florida on August 4, 2001, but was denied entry to the country and sent back to Dubai.
He was eventually captured in Afghanistan in December 2001.
His torture at the prison was widely documented and spurred on international human rights ...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you... groups’ calls for the site to be shut down. He was subjected to prolonged isolation, sleep deprivation, sexual humiliation and other abuses.
"We tortured Qahtani," Susan Crawford, a top judicial official in the Bush administration said in 2009, according to a Washington Post article.
In January, the United States approved the release of five of the remaining 39 men still at Guantanamo.
Ten others, including the alleged criminal mastermind of the September 11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, known as "KSM," are awaiting trial by a military commission.
The detention center, run by the US Navy, was created after the 2001 attacks to house detainees in the US "war on terror" and has been called a site of "unparalleled notoriety" by UN rights experts.
[OneIndia] The Gauhati High Court on Friday upheld The Assam Repealing Act, 2020, under which all provincialised (government-funded) madrassas are to be converted into general schools in Assam. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia and Justice Soumitra Saikia said the changes brought about by the legislative and executive action of the state are for the provincialised madrassas alone, which are government schools, and not for private or community ones.
It also dismissed a writ petition challenging the validity of the Act. The writ petition was filed by 13 individuals in the HC in 2021 against the state government's decision to transform the state-funded madrassas to general schools.
The Court had concluded the hearing on January 27 and had reserved its judgement, which was passed on Friday. The madrassas which are wholly maintained by the state cannot impart religious instructions in terms of the mandate of Article 28(1) of the Constitution of India, the Court said in its judgement.
It also pointed that the services of the teachers of the provincialised madrassas have not been dispensed away with and they will be trained for teaching other subjects, if required. "The division bench of the honourable High Court has upheld The Assam Repealing Act of 2020, which had repealed the Madrassa provincialisation acts of 1995, 2011 and 2018," Assam Advocate General Devojit Saikia told PTI.
In the same judgement, the HC also upheld all subsequent notifications issued by the government of Assam to convert madrassa institutions into general educational institutions.
Assam plans to shut govt.-run madrassas, Sanskrit tols in NovemberAssam plans to shut govt.-run madrassas, Sanskrit tols in November
The court upheld the Act on the basis of Article 28(1) of the Constitution, which mandates that any educational institution cannot impart any religious instruction if such institution is wholly funded from state budget or public funds, Saikia said.
The Assam Repealing Act does not affect the privately or community run madrassas and will only impact 397 madrassas and four Arabic colleges run by the government, he added.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who had pushed the Assam Repeal Bill as the state education minister in 2020, tweeted "Division Bench of Honble Gauhati High Court in a landmark judgment delivered today upheld the Act of 2020 to repeal Madrassa Education Procincialisation Acts and also upheld all other notifications to convert 397 provincialised madrrassas to general educational institutions."
The Bill was passed by the state Assembly on December 30, 2020, under which all the provincialised, government-funded madrassas were to be transformed into general schools. It sought to abolish The Assam Madrassa Education (Provincialisation) Act, 1995, and The Assam Madrassa Education (Provincialisation of Services of Employees and Re-Organisation of Madrassa Educational Institutions) Act, 2018.
Following the passage of the Bill another act relating to provincialisation of madrassas, which was passed by the state government in 2011 stood repealed. The state government has assured that there will be no change of status, pay, allowances and service conditions of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the madrassas under the Assam Repealing Act, which was passed during the tenure of the first BJP-led government in the state.

... among the most brutal gangs on the Turkish payroll...
arrested on Friday a woman of a village of Maabatli in the countryside of Afrin, north of Aleppo governorate, on the pretext of dealing with the Autonomous Administration previously.
Militants of the Ahrar al-Sharqiya faction arrested Asia Ahmad Haydar from her house in Ketekh village and took her to an unknown place and her fate has been unknown so far, a local source told North Press.
Haydar was arrested under the pretext of working in institutions of the Autonomous Administration previously, according to the source.
In June, the Turkish-backed military police arrested the woman and she was released after paying a ransom, the source noted.
In July 2021, the US Department of the Treasury announced a new package of sanctions applied to the Ahrar al-Sharqiya faction.
The city of Afrin and its villages, north of Aleppo, have been controlled by Turkish forces and the affiliated factions since March 2018.
Since then, the region has been witnessing ongoing security chaos accompanied by infighting among militants of the Turkish-backed factions, arrests, and kidnappings amid the factions’ disability to settle the security and spread safety.
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Following days of relative calm, the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria witnessed on Saturday mutual shelling between the Syrian government forces and the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions.
The opposition factions’ sites in the towns of Kafr Amma, Kafr Ta’al, Atarib and al-Wisata in the western countryside of Aleppo, were bombed with heavy artillery and missiles by the government forces, military sources of the Syrian opposition told North Press.
Two people from the town of al-Wisata were injured in the shelling. They were transported to the medical points for treatments, said the sources.
Similarly, the opposition’s sites near the towns of Qleidin and al-Enkawi in the Gab Plain, west of Hama, were also bombed by the government forces stationed in Jurin Camp, the sources added.
The opposition factions’ sites near the towns of al-Bara and al-Ruwaiha, the Zawiya Mountain area, south of Idlib, were shelled with heavy artillery and missiles by the government forces stationed in Kafr Nabl, according to the sources.
Meanwhile, the government forces’ sites in the towns of Dadikh and Kafr Batikh, east of Idlib, were bombe by al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room.
...a coalition project of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (Al Nusra), the Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation, and Jaysh al-Izza...
The government forces’ sites near the town of Quptan al-Jabal in the western countryside of Aleppo were bombed by al-Fateh al-Mubin as well.
The de-escalation zone in northwest Syria had witnessed relative calm regarding the mutual bombing operations between the two sides of the conflict following months of military escalation.

[REGNUM] False materials like the article about Russia's "attack" on Ukraine are published by Bloomberg on a systematic basis. such a statement was made by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova , on the air of the Moscow-24 TV channel.
Zakharova was asked whether she considered the publication of the material about Russia's "military invasion" of Ukraine deliberate, or whether it was a technical error.
"Deliberate, accidental or semi-intentional, accidental. I know that this is systemic," said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Zakharova recalled that about two weeks ago, the same agency reported on an alleged agreement between Russia and China that the invasion of Ukraine would be postponed due to the start of the Olympic Games in Beijing. The diplomat called this story “absolutely crazy” and clarified that "it was disavowed by the Foreign Ministries of both China and Russia."
"Therefore, this thing is systemic. And how they implement it is, it seems to me, a question, including internal investigations," added the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Earlier , REGNUM reported that Bloomberg published the news about Russia's "invasion" of Ukraine on its website on the night of February 4-5, but later deleted the message, calling it erroneous.

[AlAhram] Paleostinian prime minister Mohammed Shtayyeh on Saturday urged the African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. Even as the continent reels from a spate of military coups and the Covid-19 pandemic, the relationship with Israel is expected to figure prominently during the summit this weekend.

On Saturday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) announced that Turkey sent a new group of Syrian mercenaries to Libya. Turkey did this despite local and international demands to withdraw all foreign forces from the North African country.
In a statement, the SOHR said 250 mercenaries from the pro-Ankara Libyan National Army (LNA), including the Al-Majd Corps, Sultan Murad, and Al-Hamza Divisions, arrived in Tripoli on Friday.
This group was sent to replace 250 mercenaries who left Libyan territories to return to Syria.
They noted that some of the mercenaries who were sent to Libya paid their leaders $250 to make them travel to Tripoli.
On January 27th, the SOHR reported that Turkish forces cancelled the flight to repatriate a group of mercenaries from Libya to Syria through Turkey.
On January 10th, reliable sources informed the SOHR that the mercenaries in Libya reportedly received the second half of their salaries, an estimated $300.
It claimed that the total payments in January amounted to $900 each, while 10,500 Turkish Liras were delivered to their relatives in Aleppo. On the 2nd of January, the SOHR activists reported that the mercenaries received the salaries after a seven-month delay.
Last week, the SOHR reported that the Turkish government intended to maintain employing mercenaries, despite international calls for all foreign forces to withdraw from Libya.
An estimated 7,000 Syrian fighters are believed to remain in Libya, according to the SOHR.
Notably, on the 10th of October, a new group of 100 Syrian fighters had been repatriated to Syria. This coincided with the back-and-forth transfer operations of mercenaries. The group also contained fighters who were transported to Libya in 2019, the SOHR said.
Libyan Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Mangoush, told Reuters in October that many foreign fighters had left the country. This comes as the government seeks to mobilize international support to withdraw the remaining forces.
The ceasefire agreement between Libya’s warring parties called for all foreign mercenaries to be withdrawn within three months of its signing in October 2020.
Shafaq News/ Iraqi security forces captured a member of the ISIS group who was in charge of logistics earlier today, Saturday, in the Nineveh Governorate.
The Iraqi military intelligence said in a statement that the intelligence department of the 14th division identified the terrorist who was remotely moving between Saladin and Nineveh.
"After piling up evidence, the terrorist was caught in Kanous, Saladin, in cooperation with a force from the second regiment of the 50th brigade," the statement said.
"The terrorist transported supplies, mobile phones, and SIM cards to the terrorist groups sheltering in Qara Dagh, Nineveh," it added, "the terrorist is wanted in accordance with the provisions of Article 4/Terrorism."
[Jpost] BEHIND THE LINES: What is a charity based in Israel, apparently devoted to the Palestinian cause, doing building mosques in northern Syria? Turkish ethnic cleansing.
The Living with Dignity Association, based in Tira, sounds like a project of the so-called Islamic Movement, as the Muslim Brotherhood in Israel calls itself. The Southern Branch is the political wing, based near Tel Aviv, which nowadays manifests as the Ra’am Party in Naftali Bennett’s governing coalition. The Northern Branch is the militant wing, based in Umm al Fahm in the Galilee, which coordinates with Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and Erdogan’s Turkey. About 10% of Israel’s Arabs are connected to the Islamic Movement, if only through its charities.
On June 21, 2021, a newly built mosque was inaugurated in the village of Sheikh Khurez, in northwest Syria, close to the Turkish border.
Sheikh Khurez is located in the part of Syria under the nominal administration of the opposition-linked Syrian Interim Government. In practice, since the Turkish Armed Forces’ Operation Olive Branch of 2018 destroyed the Kurdish Afrin canton, the area has been under the de facto rule of Ankara and its associated militias. The latter are organized in the framework of the Turkish-trained and financed Syrian National Army.

[IsraelTimes] More than 200 kilograms of marijuana flowers and hashish seized, no arrests made
Israeli troops foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs into Israel from Egypt on Friday morning, the military said.
According to the Israel Defense Forces, soldiers monitoring surveillance cameras spotted the drug smuggling attempt and dispatched troops to the scene.
Suspects from the Egyptian side tossed the drugs over the fence, apparently for accomplices on the Israeli side to later pick them up.
More than 200 kilograms (440 pounds) of marijuana flowers and hashish, estimated to be worth NIS 4 million ($1.2 million), were seized, according to the IDF. No arrests were made.
"This operation is part of the ongoing effort by the IDF and security forces to thwart drug smuggling on the Egyptian border," the military said.
On a sometimes nightly basis, Egyptian smugglers attempt to pass contraband over the border to Israelis, who collect the packages and sell the drugs in Israel — mostly marijuana from grow houses in the Sinai Peninsula, but sometimes harder drugs like heroin.
[IsraelTimes] Russia sends a pair of long-range nuclear-capable bombers on patrol over its ally Belarus amid spiraling tensions over Ukraine.
The Russian Defense Ministry says that the two Tu-22M3 bombers practiced interaction with the Belarusian air force and air defense assets during a four-hour mission. The flight followed several similar patrols over Belarus, which borders Ukraine to the north.
The mission comes as the Kremlin has moved troops from Siberia and the Far East to Belarus for sweeping joint drills. The deployment added to the Russian military buildup near Ukraine, fueling Western fears of a possible invasion.
Russia has denied plans of attacking its neighbor Ukraine, but urged the US and its allies to provide a binding pledge that they don’t accept Ukraine into NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and structure.... or deploy offensive weapons and roll back the alliance deployments to Eastern Europe. [IsraelTimes] Iranian foreign minister wants to see something ’tangible’ from the Americans after Biden administration, the guys that caused the debacle in Afghanistan ...the gang of subgeniuses trying to pass themselves off as the adults in charge of the series of calamities characteristic of the administration of a mentally challenged geriatric case... restored some sanctions relief is aimed at salvaging nuclear deal
Iran’s foreign minister on Saturday welcomed US sanctions relief intended to entice Tehran back to the 2015 nuclear deal, but said the move was "insufficient."
On Friday, the Biden administration restored some sanctions relief to Iran’s civilian atomic program as world powers and the Islamic Theocratic Republic continue talks aimed at salvaging the languishing agreement.
"Lifting some sanctions in a real and objective manner could be interpreted as the good will that Americans talk about," Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told news hounds on Saturday.
However, a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth... he said the move "is not enough."
"Good will, in our viewpoint, means that something tangible happens on the ground," Amir-Abdollahian said.
Amir-Abdollahian reiterated that one of the "main issues" in the talks is obtaining guarantees that the US will not withdraw from the 2015 deal again.
"We seek and demand guarantees in the political, legal and economic sectors," he said, adding that "agreements have been reached in some areas."
Foreign Ministry front man Saeed Khatibzadeh also called the US sanctions relief insufficient, saying Tehran expects the lifting of sanctions outlined under the nuclear deal.
"Everyone knows that is not sufficient," Khatibzadeh was quoted as saying by the Iranian Jamaran news website.
"Indeed, the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran ...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both... is waiting for the US to implement its duties and commitments according to the nuclear deal dimensions," he said.
The Biden administration on Friday restored some sanctions relief to Iran’s atomic program as talks aimed at salvaging the languishing 2015 nuclear deal enter a critical phase.
As US negotiators head back to Vienna for what could be a make-or-break session, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken signed several sanctions waivers related to Iran’s civilian nuclear activities. The move reverses the Trump administration’s decision to rescind them.
The waivers are intended to entice Iran to return to compliance with the 2015 deal that it has been publicly violating since former US president Donald Trump ...His ancestors didn't own any slaves... withdrew from the agreement in 2018 and re-imposed sanctions. Iran says it is not respecting the terms of the deal because the US pulled out of it first. Iran has demanded the restoration of all sanctions relief it was promised under the deal to return to compliance.
Friday’s move lifts the sanctions threat against foreign countries and companies from Russia, China and Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... that had been cooperating with non-military parts of Iran’s nuclear program under the terms of the 2015 deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA.
The Trump administration had ended the so-called "civ-nuke" waivers in May 2020 as part of its "maximum pressure" campaign against Iran that began when Trump withdrew the US from the deal in 2018, complaining that it was the worst diplomatic agreement ever negotiated and gave Iran a pathway to developing the bomb.

At least ten civilians were on Friday killed in southern Somalia, following a wave of al-Shabaab ...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all of which have enough problems without them... violence in the country, despite beefed up security in several towns across the Horn of Africa nation, which is battling instability.
Somalia has been a hotspot of terrorism in Africa, with al-Shabaab turbans closely associated with al-Qaeda, dominating several parts of the rural central and southern parts of the country. IS-Somalia turbans are also dominant in northern parts.
State media reported that the ten died near Abdalla Birole township in the outskirts of Kismayo ...a port city in the southern Lower Juba province of Somalia, at the extreme southern end of the country (always assuming Somalia can be called a country). It is the commercial capital of the autonomous Jubaland region.... , the regional administrative capital of Jubaland. This is the first time the turbans are attacking Jubaland in as many months.
"10 non-combatants were killed and three others maimed after a bus they were traveling in ran over an IED bomb planted by the forces of Evil on outskirts of Kismayo town of Somalia’s Jubbaland State, on Friday, " state media reported.
Al-Shabaab turbans have since taken responsibility but could not explain why they targeted civilians. Usually, the group targets senior civil servants, security forces, and at times, innocent civilians like yesterday.
The attack took place near the outpost of the US Africa Command, which has since been deserted. The United States military left Somalia in 2021 following an order by former President Donald Trump ...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party... , but there are plans to redeploy them.
Jubaland has been in the fore front fighting al-Shabaab holy warriors, and the regional troops have been working closely with Somali National Army, the Kenya Defense Forces, and the Æthiopia National Defense Forces who work for AMISOM in the region.
A few days after a similar raid in Wajir and Mandera counties of northern Kenya, where at least 14 people were killed. Kenya and Somalia have borne the brunt of al-Shabaab forces of Evil for over ten years now.

Speaking of meltdowns, an analysis by Joe Concha of Zucker's defenestration at CNN -- looks like the big shareholders such as John Malone might have had a say. Hint: it had zip to do with his relationship with the woman and everything to do with his whoring relationship to Sonny:
CNN's Collapse is Now Complete
Instead [of covering the COVID story in a professional manner], Zucker apparently believed it was the perfect time to exploit the situation for political gain and to help the network's ratings.
Andrew Cuomo benefitted from briefings that made him appear to be the adult in the room regarding COVID and Trump appear to be the villain. Cuomo got a $5.1 million book deal as a result.
Chris Cuomo and Zucker/Gollust/CNN benefitted from marathon interviews with Cuomo's governor/brother, which didn't touch the governor's alleged nursing home scandal. Ratings soared.
So, was Zucker's departure simply about a consensual relationship with a co-worker? One might be forgiven for questioning that.
The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria has accused the President Muhammadu Buhari's administration of deliberately refusing to release the names of Nigerians that are allegedly sponsoring terrorism in the country.
President Buhari had on October 1, 2021, in his speech during the 61st Independence Day anniversary of Nigeria, said the government had been able to identify sponsors of the secessionist groups and their leaders.
Also, on Thursday Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit uncovered 123 companies and 33 bureau de change operators linked with terrorism in the country, in addition to 26 suspected kidnappers and seven co-conspirators.
The minister added that 45 people suspected of funding terrorism had been arrested and would soon be prosecuted.
Reacting in an interview with Daily Post, National Coordinator of HURIWA, Emmanuel Onwubuko, accused the Buhari administration of deliberately withholding the names of the alleged sponsors.
HURIWA alleged that the Federal Government was not serious about ending the insecurity across the country, insisting that the government had the data of Nigerians and should be able to fish out the alleged financers.
He said, “The secrecy surrounding the unveiling of the identities of the terrorism sponsors is a pointer to the fact that some persons in government are into something that they don’t want Nigerians to know. Nigerians have the right to know those who have made life very unfortunate for them for more than a decade.
“The government has skeletons in its cupboard and that is why they keep violating the rights of Nigerians to know the sponsors of Boko Haram and other terrorist groups. This is why they are after radio stations and other media platforms, trying to silence the voice of Nigerians.
“The Attorney-General of the Federation once told Nigerians that they have compiled over 400 names of some terrorists and have charged them to court, where is that case and what is the status of that matter?”

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Several trucks loading military reinforcements and logistical supplies coming from the Syria-Iraq border through al-Bukamal city in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, sent to Iran-backed factions on Saturday.
Israeli missile attack resulting in glorious secondaries in 3...2...1...
The trucks loaded medium-sized surface-to-surface missiles, ammunition and logistical equipment that were distributed to warehouses of the Iran-backed forces in several cities and towns in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, a military source told North Press.
The first shipment headed to a warehouse in al-Naser center in Bour Sa’id street in Deir ez-Zor while the second was distributed to Fortress of Rabah in al-Mayadin city and to Imam Ali Air Base in al-Bukamal city, the source added.
Syrian government forces’ checkpoints blocked al-Bukamal-Deir ez-Zor route “In order to keep residents from knowing what was on the trucks,” the source noted.
That doesn’t seem to have worked well...
These reinforcements are the largest since the Iranian-backed factions took control over the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
Since late 2017, factions affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have been deployed west of the Euphrates River and parts east of it which previously were under the control of the Islamic State Organization(ISIS) that recruited thousands of local young people in its ranks, according to reports.
With all the weapons being sent to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, responsibility for artillery attacks on the Donbass belong to the US now. by Anatoly Stepanov
[RIA Novosti] First Deputy Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky called on the United States to respond to the shelling of Donetsk by the Ukrainian army.
The diplomat reposted on Twitter a photograph showing smoke rising from the outskirts of the city after a mortar attack from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
"While the West continues to hype around Russia \'s imaginary plans to attack Ukraine, the Ukrainian army openly continues its habitual shelling of residential areas, to kill and maim civilians, brazenly violating the Minsk agreements. Where is the reaction of the US envoy under UN ?" Polansky wrote.
Earlier today, the shelling of the outskirts of Donetsk was reported at the DPR representative office in the joint center for monitoring and coordinating the ceasefire regime. This was confirmed by the head of the city administration Alexei Kulemzin.
Last night, Bloomberg posted the headline "Russia Invades Ukraine" on its website. It was soon removed, the agency said it was a mistake and promised to investigate. A few hours later, the German tabloid Bild released its material - a report by unnamed secret services about Moscow 's alleged "plan" to annex Ukraine. The same article cited a comment from the Russian embassy calling the allegations "a strange mixture of speculation and rumor."
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the Bloomberg publication, noted that such messages could lead to irreparable consequences. The State Duma called them an information blow to Russia, contributing to the growth of instability and whipping up hysteria.
Relations between Russia and the West have become even more tense in recent months. Washington and Brussels accuse Moscow of preparing an "invasion" of Ukraine and, against this background, are strengthening their presence in Eastern Europe.
In Russia, they reject all claims and remind that Kiev does not comply with the Minsk agreements: the Ukrainian authorities have concentrated half of the army’s personnel near the line of contact and fire at the militias from prohibited weapons.
The Kremlin and the Foreign Ministry have repeatedly noted that the goal of stuffing about "aggression" is to build up a foreign group near the Russian borders. They also explained that the main reason for the escalation of the situation is the actions of the United States and NATO , which are pumping up Ukraine with weapons, thereby pushing it towards military adventures.
At the end of last year, Russia handed over to the United States and its allies draft documents on security guarantees. The main demand was the non-expansion of NATO to the east, but it was precisely his Western partners, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, that they ignored in a written response.
[IsraelTimes] ’It is better to have a distance of a few months and not just weeks,’ US sources quoted as saying; 2015 pact envisioned Tehran would need a year to amass enough material for bomb.
This is why we did not vote for those idiots.
Israel fears that reviving the nuclear deal between Iran ...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both... and world powers may leave Tehran only a few months away from having enough fissile material for an atomic bomb, Israeli television reported Saturday.
The Kan public broadcaster did not specify who in Israel was concerned by the possibility that Iran’s so-called breakout time would be significantly shorter under a restored nuclear agreement.
But American sources quoted in the report appeared to acknowledge such a prospect.
"It is better to have a distance of a few months and not just weeks, as would happen if no agreement is signed," the sources said.
Something needs to be bombed until the rubble bounces. Then the distance will be nearly infinite, as it became in Iraq and Syria.
The original deal aimed to keep Iran at least a year away from amassing enough material for a nuclear weapon.
That was profoundly stupid, too.
The Kan report came days after US officials told The Wall Street Journal that a revived agreement would leave Iran with a breakout time well below a year, citing the advances in its nuclear program since then-president Donald Trump ...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...... withdrew the United States from the accord in 2018.
The exact length of the breakout time will depend on the manner in which Iran agrees to return to compliance with the deal, be it by dismantling its stockpiles of enriched uranium and relevant pieces of equipment, destroying them or shipping them abroad.
However, a lie repeated often enough remains a lie... enough nuclear material for a bomb is not the same as having the capabilities to build the core of the weapon and to attach it to the warhead of a missile, which Iran is not believed to possess and would likely take many more months to achieve.
Unless they were working the projects in parallel, using dual-use parts from the same suppliers they’ve been buying from, in which case the time suck will be demonstrating that the design works as intended. After all, they’ve been working this project for over two decades, as the CIA admitted some years after it came out they’d shaded the truth in their annual report on the subject to President George W. Bush.
Despite the JCPOA’s more limited impact, US negotiators are still committed to returning to the deal, guided by the belief that some restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program are better than none at all.

Oh good! Another war! This will surely work, unlike the last 88 times we tried it.
Say, what was the last war the Pentagon won? There hasn't been one this century. In fact, they just lost to 8th century goat herders. How are they planning on winning a real war against a tough adversary if they can't even win against primitive screwheads?
The question answers itself, doesn't it? They don't want to win. They just want another war. More Americans to decorate the cemeteries in Arlington and more returning home with blown-off limbs or shattered psyches.
We're sick of war. The idea of kids, just young American kids going to war in Iran when it doesn't benefit the American people in the least is even more sickening to me now than ever.

Israel needs to bite the bullet and handle it despite America running interference for Iran, just like they did Iraq and Syria. We have articles in the Rantburg archives dating back to 2003 detailing their concerns, and other articles from time to time revealing some of their actions delaying what some shrug off as inevitable — bugs in the program controlling the centrifuges, flaws built into purchased parts and equipment, assassination of some of Iran’s nuclear scientists and the clear subornation of others, and the glorious raid on the Tehran project files warehouse.

The new church was built in the Ahalina 2 Residential Project in accordance with El-Sisi’s directive to construct a church in every urban residential community the state develops to provide an equal opportunity for worship for all.
The newly inaugurated church is going to serve Christian families in the areas of Ahalina 1, Ahalina 2, Ahalina 3, and Qubaa in al-Salam City.
Several Islamic State’s West Africa Province militants fleeing airstrikes of the Nigerian military have drowned around the Marte axis of Lake Chad, a known stronghold of the terrorists in Borno State.
According to a report by PR Nigeria, no fewer than 25 of the terrorists met their waterloo.
Military fighter jets of the Nigerian Air Force, the report said, raided camps of the Islamic State of West African Province in a weeklong sustained aerial attack leading to the death of scores of the terrorists.
An intelligence operative told the news medium that camps and warehouses serving as ISWAP insurgents’ ammunition and firearms stores were bombed and destroyed by the aircraft.
“The military jets’ bombardments were simultaneously carried out at Bukar Mairam and Jubularam, Abbaganaram and Chikul Gudu which resulted in the explosion of the warehouses, killing several terrorists.
“The terrorists who survived the blast at Bukar Mairam and Jubularam fled and attempted to cross a river within the Lake Chad axis. It was in the process that about 25 of them got drowned,” the source added.
He further said recent air offensives by troops have seriously affected ISWAP operational command, thwarting the group’s plans to carry out major attacks on military formations in the North-East.

[DW] Dozens of influential Moslem figures were handpicked by the government to take part in the new Forum of Islam. Critics say it is an attempt by French President Emmanuel Macron to gain right-wing support.

Myanmar villagers and anti-coup fighters have accused troops of burning hundreds of homes in the country's restive northwest, as the junta seeks to crush resistance to its rule.
Mass protests against last year's coup have been met with a brutal military crackdown, and violence has flared across Myanmar as civilians form "people's defense forces" (PDF) to oppose the junta.
A woman from Bin village in the Sagaing region, which has seen recent clashes, said troops had arrived in the early hours of Monday.
“They shelled artillery and fired guns before coming in,” she said on Friday, adding that the sound had sent villagers fleeing.
Troops then set fire to around 200 houses, including her own, she said, requesting anonymity.
“We could not bring anything with us. We took some warm clothes only, and then we just ran away.”
Troops also torched houses in nearby Inn Ma Hte village after a local pro-junta militia was attacked by anti-coup fighters who then fled, according to one of the rebels. More at the link
Gunmen have killed Victor Lucky, vigilante commander of Sapele town in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.
Lucky was said to have been ambushed by about five gunmen with AK-47 rifles after leaving venue of the burial ceremony of mother of a former Commissioner for Youths, Chief Omolubi Newuwumi.
The assailants drove a tinted SUV and shot him several times at close range.
The incident caused tension in the town as businesses and vehicular activities closed immediately.
Confirming the incident, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said nine persons have been arrested in connection with the killing.
Bandits have launched a fresh attack on Karfi District in the Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State and reportedly killed 17 persons.
SaharaReporters learnt that armed bandits invaded at least five communities under the district on Friday night, leaving several others with injuries.
A resident of the area revealed that the hoodlums arrived the area by shooting sporadically at residents.
“They came around 11:00pm on Friday and started shooting and looting, during which they killed about 17 people,” a source said.
The member representing Malumfashi Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Aminu Ibrahim Saidu, who confirmed the incident, said, "I've visited the affected communities to sympathised with the families over the unfortunate incident.
"The increasing criminal activities recently in Katsina State, with the police authorities attributing it to the influx of bandits from Zamfara and Sokoto states due to the ongoing military operations in those states is troubling."
When contacted for confirmation of the incident, spokesperson for the police in the state promised to get back on the issue but had yet to do so as of the time of this publication.
While violent crime reported to police rose 5% in 2020, you can't blame that increase on guns because gun crimes actually fell by 27%.
With violent crime increasing over the last two years, Americans want a solution. But President Joe Biden constantly frames violent crime as only a gun problem. Again, it was the sole focus of Biden's speech in New York City on Thursday. Even when he mentions police or prosecutors, it was in terms of enforcing gun control laws.
But this "guns first" approach ignores a basic fact – over 92% of violent crimes in America do not involve firearms. And while Biden blames guns for the increase in violent crime, the latest data show that gun crimes fell dramatically.

[TakiMag] Some people come to hate what their profession suggests that they should love: Many librarians hate books, for example, at least if their way of treating them is any indication. Not a few would like to dispense with books altogether, replacing them by computer terminals so that they no longer have to deal with fatuous requests by scholars and would-be scholars for obscure volumes hidden in the back shelves.
When librarians sell off books that they deem to be surplus to requirements—libraries no longer being repositories of knowledge but more like fast-food outlets, so that something that has not been in demand for a certain length of time is struck off the menu—they take their revenge on the hated, tyrannous objects by defacing them with marker pens, in the process reducing their market value so that the library will have fewer funds with which to replace them by other hateful books. You can just imagine the joy of Quebecois librarians as 30,000 children’s books, deemed poisonous to children’s minds, were cast onto bonfires, the ashes used to fertilize newly planted trees in order to save the planet.
“It is difficult to imagine a whole archive being thrown away thoughtlessly; it is much easier to imagine it being thrown away, or rather destroyed, thoughtfully.”
Book burning, which Heine warned led eventually to the incineration of people, is essentially futile, at least in the long run, for it is rarely that every last copy of any book can be burnt; the burnt book is able to take its revenge by reappearing at some time in the future. Far worse than book burning, then, is the loss of an archive that contains unique and original documents. This is what happened, or was done, to an archive that a friend of mine, Jillian Becker, sold to Leicester University.
Having published novels with success about her native South Africa, she researched and wrote a world best-seller about the Baader-Meinhof gang called Hitler’s Children. She then researched and published a book about the Palestine Liberation Organization. Not surprisingly, she was now fascinated (and appalled) by the phenomenon of terrorism and set up an Institute for the Study of Terrorism in London. I visited it several times in its unmarked basement offices. At the time, I enjoyed the slightly cloak-and-dagger atmosphere of this. I was still a young man.
For the six years of its existence, the Institute researched terrorism around the world, often at some risk to its staff. It was consulted both by governments and by companies anxious to reduce their risks, and it published booklets on such movements as the Tamil Tigers and Sendero Luminoso. Newspapers and other media called on it for confidential and reliable information. With the end of the Cold War, however, its funding dried up. The Institute had discovered that much of the terrorism in Europe was encouraged and funded by the Soviet Union, from which the funders drew that natural but mistaken corollary that with the downfall of the latter, the problem of terrorism was more or less solved. Jillian Becker knew otherwise but was unable to persuade her donors that the Islamists would take over from where the Soviets had left off.
The Institute was therefore wound up, but in its six years of active existence it had accumulated a valuable archive that it was imperative to preserve. It contained unique documents retrieved from terrorist headquarters, interviews with former terrorists who had repented of their activities, confessions, photographs of crime scenes, names and biographies of perpetrators, and the like. In 1993, the Institute sold the archive to the University of Leicester for safekeeping. Read the rest at the link

Having purchased a number of OLD (late 1800's) books and even a few worthy 1st editions at Libraries & estate sales over that last 45 years. I have also noticed libraries eliminating certain titles, increasingly adding "social" title issues, and moving towards Digital books. All while downsizing (even trashing) the older printed history books for "socially adjusted " updated versions.
One of the best political mind changing printed books that I own and loan out on occasion. Is a 1930's GA. Legal Code. It clearly shows the Democratic Party as the Racist Political Party it is and has been for over 160+ years.
