Biden admin updates its nuclear explosion guidelines to include SOCIAL DISTANCING as Russia readies its missiles against the West: Americans should go to basements, stay inside for 24hrs and not look at blast - but stay six feet from others
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] 'That will be the least of our worries': Biden administration is mocked for updating its nuclear attack guidelines to include SOCIAL DISTANCING and mask wearing as Russia readies its missiles after Ukraine invasion
  • The Biden administration's instructions for nuclear explosions tells Americans to 'continue to practice social distancing'

  • Guidelines tell Americans to remain six feet apart and wearing a mask when sheltering in place in the event of nuclear attack

  • It is not immediately clear when this guidance was included in the nuclear explosion page but it was last updated on Friday, February 25, 2022

  • The revelations of the guidance comes after Vladimir Putin escalated tensions
with the West on Sunday by ordering Russian nuclear forces be put on high alert

An Open Letter to Every Damned Politician! On the Election, Selective Lockdowns, Corruption, all of it!
[USAA News] Politicians, why the hell do we need you? You have done nothing for the citizens of this country. Nothing! Your job is to protect the God-given rights of American citizens. You work for the people and you have forgotten your place.

Night after night, year after year, we go to work, pay our taxes, and bite our tongues. We watch you on the evening news pontificate about this issue or that scandal, yet you do nothing to help the American citizen who pays your exorbitant salary through our endless hard work. We’re sick of it!

We watched as Hillary Clinton broke every law in the book by lying to the FBI about her using a personal server to conduct government business with classified information, and then delete over 33,000 emails once she was caught. It was proven that she broke multiple laws, regardless of intent. In fact, the laws she broke specifically state that intent is not needed for these laws to be broken. And what did you do? Nothing. Who was punished? Who went to jail? Who was held accountable? Hillary Clinton? James Comey? John Brennan? Please.

And what about the IRS targeting Tea Party groups? After the IRS was caught intentionally harassing these groups, they finally admitted that they were breaking the law. Who was sent to jail? Who was fired? Lois Lerner? James Clapper? Obama? Again, no one.

And how about members of Congress? Apparently, it’s just fine for them to outright lie and spend millions of our dollars and three years of our time investigating a phony Russia scandal launched by Hillary Clinton’s Steele dossier. This resulted in more of our hard-earned money being wasted with the impeachment proceedings of President Trump. Was anyone even scolded for lying? For wasting our money? God forbid any one of us lies to Congress. That would mean our heads!

Did you even notice that Joe and Hunter Biden were peddling Joe’s influence to the highest Chinese bidder when he was Vice President? Ukraine ring a bell? Imagine, the former Vice President of the United States was altering American foreign policy based on how it financially benefit him and his family. Where’s the outrage? Why is no one in jail or hanging from a yardarm? Your silence is your approval.

Now we have Big Tech censoring us...censoring the very President of the United States! Because of you, our voices are now censored in the public square, violating our first amendment right to free speech. Where are you? You are not protecting our rights! For working only a few months out of each year and making top dollar, you appear to help no one but yourselves. Are the Big Tech deals too good to pass up? Do values and the Constitution mean nothing to you? Why did you even run for office in the first place? It certainly wasn’t to help the American people.

And the 2020 Presidential election. It’s obvious to everyone that the Democrats cheated by having Democrat votes magically appear in the middle of the night — all in key swing states, mind you. And we know you’re going to do nothing, again. We’ve seen the fraud and the cheating. We know the logistics. We’ve done our jobs by voting and paying attention. How about you do your jobs and start arresting people? Why is Joe Biden the President and not in jail for corruption? Why are his cronies allowed to flout our election laws?

For years, the American people have slaved away and tolerated you as a necessary evil. You are not necessary anymore. You have not protected anything for the American citizen!

We watched as our elected officials entered Congress as ordinary folks and left as multi-millionaires.

We watched as you took a broken healthcare insurance system and made it infinitely worse by adding more government to the problem rather than removing it altogether to let a truly free market help us.

We watched as people who hate us call for our destruction while they openly steal the 2020 election and then tell us that it’s all fair and honest.

We watched as governors and mayors transformed themselves into tyrants by completely ignoring our Constitution, usurping power, and creating laws out of thin air, all in the name of, "public safety." This is America. The rights of the individual trump the rights of the public. Don’t you realize that this principle is the very cornerstone of our republic? Now that you’ve reversed this principle, we have socialism.

'Ukraine FM slams 'traitors to humanity' for leaving Russia SWIFT loopholes: 'Money soaked in our blood'
[FOX] Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba Sunday condemned the move by western countries to allow Russian energy transactions to continue on the international SWIFT banking system, even as they issued harsh sanctions on other transactions.

"I will not be diplomatic. Some countries are trying to leave loopholes, exclude a number of banks so they can apply some measures with their left hands and continue to trade with Russia with their right hands," Kuleba said.

"Stop doing this now. Stop trading with the blood of Ukrainian men women and children. This is not a metaphor but the reality of what you are doing," Kuleba continued. "History will judge you and your names will forever remain in history books as names of traitors to humanity. There are examples of such names in the 20th century. I am confident you do not want to add your names."

'Even Putin's generals looked stunned: Military chiefs are caught in the headlights as Vlad orders his nuclear deterrent forces to go on 'alert' with a decree that shocked the world
[MAIL] Vladimir Putin's closest advisers appeared perturbed when he dropped his bombshell about readying nuclear weapons yesterday.

The expressions of army general Valery Gerasimov and defence minister Sergey Shoygu were caught on camera as the Russian president put his atomic arsenal on stand-by.

A senior US defence official said last night Putin's step is 'potentially putting in play forces that if there's a miscalculation could make things much, much more dangerous'.

And defeat is not acceptable to the Russians.

In Russia-Ukraine talks, US/West will be lingering specter in the room. I am worried US/West don't wish to see a reconciliation now. They are more interested in plunging Russia into severe difficulty using sanctions, leading to widespread anti-war movement and shaking Putin govt.

Russia is a nuclear power. This is an existential issue for Russia. Putin couldn't care less about your sanctions. He doesn't care about human life. His forces will not be defeated in Ukraine - all your pathetic keyboard cheerleading will not alter any of these facts.

In Serbia you bombed the Serbian side to rubble to force a peace agreement at Dayton.

Why do you think Putin will not do exactly as the US and NATO did in Serbia in order to force terms on Zelensky?

Is this just a game for you? Aren't you embarrassed to see Chinese state media commenters like #HuSays (@HuXijin_GT) making more strategic sense now than all your media propagandists and posturing chicken hawk senators?

#27  Has your leadership gone insane?

Joe Biden was a fool in the prime of his life and now he is a feeble old fool who suffers from cognitive decline or dementia or whatever you speculate it might be. Sorry, but he is not up to the job. Would it be too much to ask if, for once in the history or our two great nations, the Russian would step up and be the better man? Or has Vlad lost his mind as well?

Maybe only God can save us now. Or maybe we are all doomed just because of two mad men.

OK, I just watched the video at the Daily Mail site in which Putin says NATO nations are threatening him so that he must put his nuclear deterrence on high alert.

That is pure bullshit. We will not be the first to use nuclear weapons and Putin has just forfeited all of the sympathy that many of us had for him. Many of us now believe that Putin has been in power for much too long now and it is time for some patriotic Russian who is in a more stable state of mind to take the helm.

But I think I see another problem. As I watched the video and read the subtitles I realized that, compared to the time it took me to read the subtitles, it was taking Putin a long time to say what he was saying in Russian. I would read the subtitle and then wait and wait and wait for the next subtitle. Believe me, I'm not a speed reader.

Ask yourself, compared to the number of syllables in the English language subtitles, how many syllables does the Russian language take to say the same thing?

The problem may be that your language is too cumbersome and it takes an extraordinary length of time to express your thoughts. I can't help wondering if, when you have to actually think in Russian, does it takes as long to think as it does to speak? This must be extremely difficult for you. My sympathy.

Sunday Talks, Psaki Gives Away the Ukraine Game – Russia Is Needed As Fall Guy for Biden Energy Policy and Economic Damage
[ConservativeTreehouse] During an ABC interview today, White House Spokesperson Jennifer Psaki gave away the game for the Biden Administration’s intent on exploiting the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

Keep in mind, as the Biden team were getting pummeled for negative economic outcomes, massive inflation, skyrocketing energy costs and gas prices set to double, the White House worked to create an urgent defense by manufacturing the crisis.

While Joe Biden ate his pudding, the people behind the scenes told Zelenskyy and Putin that Ukraine was about to enter NATO {December 2021}. The White House then seeded details through China knowing the intel would get back to Putin. Russia took the bait and intervened.

Now that cretin is destroying your economy and your position in the world. $150 oil. Hyperinflation everywhere. Millions of Americans thrown into poverty.

Soon there will be war in Asia. War in the Middle East. Nations lining up to get their own nukes.

Why are you doing this? Why didn't you force Zelensky to be reasonable and accept partition? You could have backed it up with a serious threat to Putin -- not your stupid useless sanctions but a serious nuclear threat -- as a way to force a lasting durable peace agreement from both sides.

Instead you made promises you weren't willing to keep and enabled Putin to commit this atrocity.

Man up and admit that your idiot president bears a large responsibility for what we know now is the destruction of the world's security and prosperity. Man up. Stop denying.

#8  I blame Clinton and the idiots that came after him. Instead of throwing a party and disbanding NATO after the Soviet Union fell and trying to establish ties with Russia, they pushed NATO right up to the border of a very paranoid and humiliated nation and sought to punish them.

The aggressive and paranoid Russia we have now is a direct consequence of those actions.

I still blame Putin for being an asshole though and support the Ukraine in spite of our feckless political class.

#9  If you had a president who was not braindead, you could force an end to this war right now.

Zelensky is in Belarus for peace talks. You can still tell him to accept partition - Russia now dominates the east and south and has secured their land bridge to Crimea. Zelensky is still alive and his big cities have not yet been leveled. And you could threaten Putin with a real stick - a thermonuclear strike unless he accepts the deal MF pulls back to the Novorossia line.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Russia says military coordination with Israel in Syria will continue as usual
[IsraelTimes] Embassy says cooperation is daily and ’useful,’ indicates condemnation over Ukraine invasion won’t influence Syrian arrangement

The Russian embassy in Israel said that military coordination with Israel in Syria will continue, even as the two countries spar over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Jerusalem and Moscow have in recent years maintained a so-called deconfliction mechanism that works to prevent Israeli and Russian forces from clashing in Syria. Russia is a main player backing the Syrian government in a grinding civil war, while Israel has waged a years-long campaign of Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s aimed at pro-Iranian fighters located there and at preventing the transfer of Iranian-supplied weaponry.

"Our military officials discuss the practical issues of this substantively on a daily basis. This mechanism has proven to be useful and will continue to work," the Russian embassy said in a statement to The Times of Israel.

It also noted that while Moscow supports Israel’s security needs, it opposes violations of Syrian illusory sovereignty.

Israel’s military told Rooters its forces "will act when needed to counter threats, defend the people of Israel and our illusory sovereignty."

Russia on Friday summoned Israel’s Ambassador to Moscow Alexander Ben Zvi to clarify Israel’s position regarding the Ukraine invasion a day after Foreign Minister Yair Lapid called the incursion a "grave violation of international order."

As Russia attacks Ukraine, Israel has avoided taking a stance aligned too closely with either side. This is believed to be at least partly due to its need to work with the Russian military presence in neighboring Syria.

Israel has expressed concern regarding the invasion and offered humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people, but Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has avoided condemning Russia or even mentioning the country by name in his statements since the launching of the widespread military operation across Russia’s border early Thursday morning.

Russia’s ambassador to Israel told The Times of Israel on Friday that Moscow "hope[s] that Israel will continue [taking] a wise diplomatic approach."

The deconfliction mechanism was discussed by Bennett and Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
when they met for talks in Sochi, Russia, last October. A senior Israel official said after the meeting that they had agreed to continue the arrangement.

There were "very wide" talks regarding the situation in Syria aimed at "safeguarding the coordination mechanism," said Housing Minister Ze’ev Elkin who accompanied Bennett on the trip, at the time.

Former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Putin on multiple occasions to discuss the issue and claimed that their personal relationship was a main factor in maintaining the mechanism.

Russia meanwhile, is a close ally of Syria’s Bashir al-Assad, has forces based and operating in Syria, and provides Syria with air defenses that try and shoot down Israeli jets and missiles.

Israeli officials do not generally discuss the full extent of the coordination, but they stress that the IDF does not seek Russian permission before carrying out operations.

On Thursday, Syrian state media said three Syrian soldiers were killed in an Israeli airstrike near the capital Damascus. The alleged strike came hours after Israel apparently dropped leaflets on Syrian army positions warning that they could be targeted for collaborating with Iran-backed terror group Hezbollah.

Pak-Afghan trade activities resume as Chaman border reopens
[Dawn] The Chaman-Spin Buldak border between Pakistain and Afghanistan, which was closed after festivities between the two countries’ forces began last week, was reopened on Sunday morning.

All hurdles have been removed from both sides of the Friendship Gate on the border.

The border was reopened after a delegation of Learned Elders of Islam from Chaman headed by tribal elder Molvi Haji Faizullah Nourzai held negotiations with Kandahar Governor Yusef Wafa and other Taliban

leaders.

Sources said that the Learned Elders of Islam delegation also remained in contact with senior Pak officials during their talks with Afghan officials.

"Our negotiation remained fruitful and resulted in opening of the border," Mufti Mohammad Qasim, front man for the Ulema delegation, said.

He said the delegation conveyed a message of goodwill from Pak authorities to the Kandahar governor and other Taliban leaders.

He said the people involved in trade from both sides were facing financial losses due to the closure of the bother.

According to Mufti Qasim, "both sides regretted the festivities which caused loss of lives from both sides".

He said a flag meeting between border officials from both sides is expected in a couple of days to resolve the issue which caused the festivities. Direct talks between bigwigs of the two countries would help in reducing tension in border areas on both sides, he added.

Mufti Qasim hoped the situation would improve in the coming days.

After opening of the border traffic was also restored which was suspended on Feb 24.

A large number of trucks carrying Afghan transit trade goods, import and export items, fresh fruits and vegetables crossed the border.

Hundreds of Pak and Afghan nationals, who were stranded on both sides of the border, also returned to their countries. They included women and kiddies.

With the opening of the border, hundreds of daily wage labourers also reached the border and started loading and unloading goods from trucks and other vehicles in Chaman, Imran Khan

British Spy Boss: ‘LGBT+ Rights' Are What ‘Distinguish Us from Putin'
He’s not even an ass — that requires deliberation. He’s a plain-vanilla fool of the first water.
[Breitbart] “LGBT+ rights” are the most important “values and hard won freedoms” distinguishing “us” from Russian President Vladimir Putin, Richard Moore, chief of MI6, the UK’s Secret Intelligence Service, wrote on Friday.

Moore did not specify if his use of “us” was a reference to the United Kingdom, the Anglosphere, or the broader West.

He expressed his sentiments via Twitter, relating his remarks to ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He included an acronym from “LGBT+ History Month,” with “LGBT+” for “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans +.”

BP to offload stake in Rosneft amid Ukraine conflict
[BBC] BP is to offload its 19.75% stake in Russian state-owned oil firm Rosneft after Russia's "act of aggression in Ukraine".

The oil giant had come under pressure from the UK government to make the move since Thursday's invasion.

It has held the shareholding in the Russian company since 2013.

BP chief executive Bernard Looney has resigned "with immediate effect" from the Rosneft board, as has fellow BP-nominated director Bob Dudley.

Rosneft said thirty years of successful cooperation had been ruined and blamed BP's decision on "unprecedented political pressure", according to reports from Russian news agencies.

Mr Looney had been on the Rosneft board since 2020, alongside its chairman Igor Sechin, who is a close friend and ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Terrorists Kill Seven, Kidnap 57, Shoot Prospective Undergraduate In Kaduna

Terrorists have shot a prospective Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, candidate from Government Science Secondary School, Birnin-Gwari in Kaduna State.

The victim was on his way to register for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), in Kaduna, when he was attacked by the terrorists.

UTME is a computer-based standardised examination for prospective undergraduates in Nigeria.

He, however, escaped with bullet wounds, but seven other road users were not that lucky.

Ibrahim Abubakar Nagwari, Chairman, Birnin Gwari Vanguard for Security and Good Governance, in a statement, explained that the terrorists killed seven locals in the community.

He lamented the resurgence of violence in the area, saying it had become a daily experience for the locals who are being terrorised by the insurgents.

He further explained that three other people escaped with mild wounds, adding that 57 others were abducted.

According to him, “the nightmare of armed banditry along Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna highway has further deteriorated in the last 24 hours".

Turkish-backed factions arrest a civilian in Afrin

ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE, Syria (North Press) – The Turkish-backed Military Police arrested yesterday a civilian of Afrin region in Aleppo northern countryside, north Syria.

“Members of the Military Police raided a village in Maabatli district of Afrin countryside and arrested Jwan Muhammad Youssef without knowing the reasons,” an eyewitness told North Press.

According to the monthly report of the Violations Documentation Center in Northern Syria (VDC-NSY), the Turkish-backed National Army factions arrested 37 people in Afrin since the beginning of February.

Since the Turkish incursion into Syria, the killing and wounding of 8,590 people have been documented. The figure of detainees has reached 8,230, about 5,530 of whom have been released, while the fate of the rest is still unknown.

The city of Afrin and its villages, north of Aleppo, have been controlled by Turkish forces and the affiliated factions since March 2018.

Since then, the region has been witnessing ongoing security chaos accompanied by infighting among militants of the Turkish-backed factions, arrests, and kidnappings amid the factions’ disability to settle the security and spread safety.

Britain
Ukraine conflict: [Foreign Secretary] Liz Truss backs people from UK who want to fight
[BBC] The UK government has stressed that British troops will not be sent to fight on the ground. Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said Ukraine would instead be supported to "fight every street with every piece of equipment we can get to them".

She said the UK government was "doing all it can" to support Ukraine with defensive weapons on the ground and with "far more severe sanctions" against Russia, to stop Putin from funding his "war machine".

"We are seeing a huge united effort, across the G7, across our allies, to challenge Vladimir Putin," she said. "Because this is Putin's war. This is pre-fabricated, pre-ordained aggression to try and subvert a sovereign democracy.

"We simply cannot allow him to succeed."

The foreign secretary said she feared the invasion of Ukraine would be a "bloody and long-running conflict" - with consequences felt far beyond Ukraine itself.

She said the UK "will need to do more [and] spend more" - citing the unprecedented sanctions announced by the government earlier this week, and Saturday's decision by the EU, US and their allies to cut off a number of Russian banks from the main international payment system, Swift.

"The aim is to degrade the Russian economy - to stop the money Putin has used to fund his war machine," she said.

She said the UK government had compiled a "hit list" of Russian billionaires and said there would be a "rolling programme of sanctions" against individual oligarchs.

"We will be targeting oligarchs' private jets, we will be targeting their properties, we will be targeting other possessions that they have - and there will be nowhere to hide," said Ms Truss.

Ms Truss acknowledged that there was likely to be an "economic cost" to the UK "in terms of access to oil and gas markets" - and a likely rise in the cost of living, with the conflict expected to drive energy and fuel prices even higher.

#1  Some Additional BKgrd Info.

In mid-Feb. and just prior to The U/R war starting. U.S. officials finally admitted that Russian state-backed hackers have been had gained access to a number of key U.S. defense contractors over the last 2 years.

It is clear Russia's Cyberware Command obtained a large collection of US national security data on weapon development projects and readiness information. Many other, not discussed, cyber/data control items and issues.

#2  The second-order effects of this Biden face plant are that Russian military technology will accelerate, the Chinese alternative to SWIFT will rapidly accelerate, and at least half a dozen nations will rush to join the nuclear club.

And America is certain now to have hyperinflation and economic stagnation at the same time. The dollar will eventually go the way of sterling after 1918 - just one currency among many.

No almighty dollar means no more US stick. No nation will allow itself to be vulnerable to US financial blackmail. Sanctions will become an empty ridiculous threat.

All of these consequences are 100 times more important to the world and America's position in it than anything that will happen in Ukraine. Together they mean that the US world order is finished.

And the US is bringing all this on itself. For what?
For whom? Zelensky? Hunter Biden?

Why are you shooting yourselves in the balls?

Why are you plunging the world into chaos?

Who is profiting from your mad fixation?

Kenyan military kills four Al-Shabaab militants in Boni Forest
[Garowe] The Kenya Defense Forces [KDF] killed at least four al-Shabaab
...... Somalia's version of the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...

turbans on Saturday in the porous Boni Forest, which has been operating as temporary shelter for the al-Qaeda linked group, which often attacks various places in Kenya.

Al-Shabaab had increased its presence in Kenya particularly in Lamu, Garissa, Mandera, and Wajir counties which border Somalia. There is a heavy presence of KDF soldiers and those from the US Africa Command in the said counties.

In a statement, the KDF Communication office said the turbans were trying to cross over from Somalia when the incident occurred leading to a heavy exchange of gunfire in Sarira just within the vicinity of Boni Forest.

During the encounter, the statement confirmed, several turbans escaped with serious injuries to neighboring Somalia.
As Dr. Steve of the salmon (“It’s not pink!!) highlight used to say, “Pray for sepsis,” although gangrene would also be acceptable.
The KDF team did not suffer any notable injuries, the statement noted.

"The Kenya Defense Forces [KDF] engaged and killed four al-Shabaab turbans in Sarira, Boni Forest in Lamu County. The turbans were trying to cross over to Kenya through a common border. Others escaped with serious injuries to Somalia," reads the statement.

"No injuries were recorded on the Kenyan side during the encounter. The KDF troops have intensified operations in Boni and will continue to protect the local residents and get rid of al-Shabaab," KDF added.

Currently, there are close to 3500 Kenyan troops serving under the African Union

Europe
Ukraine conflict — EU round-up: Putin's war prompts dramatic German U-turn
[BBC] Germany has just witnessed a truly historic day. Chancellor Olaf Scholz only came to power in December, but within 24 hours he has transformed modern Germany's foreign policy.

During an emergency parliamentary session on Ukraine on Sunday, Chancellor Scholz announced an additional $113bn (£84bn) for the German army.

There was an audible ripple of shock in parliament. Some MPs clapped, some booed, others looked stunned.

Undeterred, Mr Scholz went on to announce drastic measures that would have been unthinkable a week ago, including a constitutional commitment to Nato's military spending target of 2% of GDP - and he confirmed that Germany would be sending weapons direct to Ukraine.

Within a few days Vladimir Putin has managed to do what Nato allies have spent years trying to achieve: a massive increase of military spending in Germany.

This is arguably one of the biggest shifts ever seen in Germany's post-war foreign policy.

Old political certainties about peacekeeping are being ditched in Germany. Left-wing politicians and many voters are unhappy with higher spending on weapons.

But since the invasion there has been a dawning realisation here that, if successful in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin may not stop there.

So the political mainstream accepts that Germany needs to spend more on its military: to defend Nato allies, but also to defend itself. Suddenly Ukraine feels very near to Berlin.

Finland and Sweden have brushed off warnings from neighbouring Russia that their possible joining of NATO

would trigger "serious military-political consequences" from Moscow for the two countries.

A statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry Friday voiced concern about what it described as efforts by the United States and some of its allies to "drag" Finland and Sweden into NATO and warned that Moscow would be forced to take retaliatory measures if they join the alliance.

Military operation in Ukraine will remove Western abscesses in Russia
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Mikhail Demurin

[REGNUM] The military operation that our country is conducting against the fascist regime that seized Kyiv in 2014 is increasingly acquiring the character of an internal cleansing political operation. One by one, she opens the abscesses that were formed by the efforts of the West on the body of Russia back in the 1990s and were not cleaned out in the 2000s.

The military operation that our country is conducting against the fascist regime that seized Kyiv in 2014 is increasingly acquiring the character of an internal cleansing political operation. One by one, she opens the abscesses that were formed by the efforts of the West on the body of Russia back in the 1990s and were not cleaned out in the 2000s: liberal pop and theater parties, “Russian” athletes who have dug in in the West, various kinds of “social activists” ... And it was possible not to strain about the artistic and sports audience, but our government itself has made the main “heroes” of modern Russia out of them!

Among these abscesses is the Yeltsin Center, which advocated the termination of the operation to force Ukraine to denazification and abandon the role of the forward base of the NATO offensive against our country. Like, the Soviet Union was destroyed together; it is clear for what purposes they did it; why fight now?

The Yeltsin Center and the Yeltsinists in general are proteges of the West who, just as Boris Yeltsin wished, want the West to be the guarantor of their power in Russia and that they, accordingly, could plunder our country without fear of popular anger - it would be suppressed by the occupation NATO troops.

We have not heard a single statement from the Yeltsin Center against the military coup carried out by the US and its allies through their Ukrainian puppets in Ukraine in 2014. We have not heard such statements from the Yeltsinists against the repression of Russian and pro-Russian Ukrainian activists that then swept across Ukraine. We have not heard their statements condemning the atrocities at the House of Trade Unions in Odessa. We have not heard them condemn the punitive operation of the Kiev junta against the Donbass, which refused to obey the fascists...

Finally, we have not heard a single speech against NATO moving its troops and military infrastructure to our borders. On the contrary, they constantly put sticks in the wheels of any actions aimed at making Russia more independent, so that its ability to defend itself grows, so that it gets out of Western control.

Today, the Yeltsinists are again talking about our “uncivilization”: they are again proposing that we go to the “community of civilized countries” and together with it, as it should be understood, destroy everyone who will stand in the way of American hegemonism, as was the case in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya , Syria. And as they tried and failed to do in Cuba and Venezuela. They want our country, having taken over the "baton" from fascist Ukraine, to become the vanguard of the Anglo-Saxon racists in their attempts to subdue China.

It will not happen. I am also sure that the positive outcome of the actions to denazify, demilitarize and democratize Ukraine, to withdraw it from NATO satellites, will give impetus to the cleansing of Russia itself. After all, we and our puppets of the West have a lot of them and they really interfere!

#11  Had Putin rolled into Luhansk and Donbass, and stopped with a wider DMZ around them, that likely would have been nothing from the West on this other than some weak sanctions. Old senile Joe even hinted at this when he made his "minor incursion" remarks.

You want the fault in this, it was Putin's decision to attack outside of the "Russian" regions, and levy war on ALL of Ukraine's large cities, and the cherry on top was the manic paranoid nuclear threats.

#12  From your own Sohrab Ahmari

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is a very big deal and a very bad thing. Permit me to stipulate that, before going on to observe that the event has also triggered the latest outbreak of mass hysteria among the Western ruling class, the severest yet.

Just when sobriety, responsibility, probity, and diplomatic skill are most needful, our pundits and policymakers offer the opposite: trembling emotion, cheap propaganda, wild fantasies, a refusal to dialogue and de-escalate. And the worst part is: It’s all so damned familiar. Once more, we are falling—or rather, being driven—into structural information traps that hamper sound decision-making and force policy choices we might regret dearly when it’s too late.

The process has proved highly costly in recent years. This time, it could spell catastrophe. This time, rash action risks a direct confrontation with a mighty Eurasian civilization with wounded pride and a vast arsenal of strategic weapons. How did we get here?

If you’re stuck in one of these info traps, it is very difficult to pull yourself out. Those who might try to help will face the full force of your wrath (as we will see). Once the media moment has passed, of course, you might wonder how you ever came to believe X or to advocate Y. There might be hints of regret. But then life presses on. Other concerns compete for your limited time and attention. That is, until the next trap-laden media event.

Yet we must examine previous episodes. Four especially stand out: the post-9/11 wars, the Arab Spring, the European migrant crisis, and the Covid pandemic. These happen to be the defining media moments of my career as a journalist, and in some cases, I fell into the info traps. The experience indelibly shaped my worldview. But you don’t need to share my worldview to notice—and beware—three info-trap patterns common to all of these media moments.

First, beware emotionally charged images that tend to overwhelm reason. The Arab Spring should have been instructive on this count. Following the self-immolation of a Tunisian fruit vendor in 2010, images of denim-clad, smartphone-wielding young liberals taking to the streets dazzled reporters and social-media users. The images fed a narrative of heroic Jeffersonians facing down hidebound kleptocrats. The fervor suppressed inconvenient questions.

Questions like: Were these youths, in fact, representative of their societies, or did they win our favor merely because they happened to look and sound like us? Were they actually prepared to govern their societies, or might their movements be hijacked by less-savory actors? If Islamists with mass support did end up in power, would the young liberals be able to accept that? Were there reasons to take a more cautious approach, taking into account religious and tribal complexities and the geopolitical fault lines that crisscross the region?

Needless to say, the United States didn’t pursue a cautious policy, pushing its clients to step down and, in the case of Libya, mounting a military intervention to oust Muammar Gaddafi. The result: instability, civil war, ungoverned spaces, terror, and an eventual return to autocracy in most Arab Spring states.

Emotive images similarly overwhelmed rational decision-making during the 2015-16 European migrant crisis. The decisive shift toward flinging open the continent’s gates came in response to a photograph of a Syrian child lying dead on Turkey’s western shore after trying to reach the Greek isles. More than a million newcomers—mostly men, many unvetted—poured into Europe as refugees. It was far from clear how many were, in fact, economic migrants whose crossings had been made possible by human smuggling. Concerns about mass migration’s adverse effects on security, welfare services, and social cohesion were, again, suppressed until much later—when it was too late.

The pandemic supplied its share of gripping and potentially misleading images—above all, that of the death and misery in Italy’s Covid wards, scenes that were certain to arrive at a hospital near you, unless drastic but temporary measures were taken. Few inquired about the extent to which Italy’s horrors were a specific product of Italy’s health system and its elderly population.

Second, beware the treatment of dissent or criticism as treason. This is perhaps the most pernicious pattern in info traps, because it taps into the very human tendency to ostracize and “out-group” dissidents. Modern media, with their power to incite ravenous mobs, have supercharged this ancient temptation. The mob has been instructed to defend a certain policy—and only a traitor or villain could have second thoughts!

Thus, opponents of the Iraq War, including many who made this magazine their home, were called “unpatriotic” conservatives. France’s reservations led to the idiocy of “Freedom Fries.” Those who questioned the Arab Spring—including as eminent a scholar of the Middle East as Bernard Lewis—were dismissed as “Orientalists” and worse. Likewise, those who questioned Angela Merkel’s open-door policy could barely get a hearing in the mainstream.

Then there was Covid. Everyone had to wear a mask. Everyone had to boast of his vaccination status online, to post masked selfies. To proclaim #StayHomeSaveLives. Critics of job-killing and small-biz-destroying lockdowns were no doubt callous and heartless. When R.R. Reno, editor of First Things, warned that the West was succumbing to a dangerous safety-ism, prioritizing physical wellbeing at the expense all other goods, the Catholic University theologian Joseph Cappizi accused him, falsely, of proposing that “the value of life should be measured in economic terms,” of being “indifferent to the wellbeing of society’s most vulnerable members.” It was a sophisticated way of asking the same question posed by Reno’s frothy online persecutors: “How many Grannies are you prepared to kill on the altar of your economy, Rusty?”

Third and finally, beware delusions of total mastery over complex crises. It’s all too easy for people speculating on traditional or social media that complex matters are actually simple, that “we” can take drastic measures without worrying about the consequences, because the West enjoys a uniquely capable civilization, thanks to its scientific and technological prowess. We think we can “game out” the outcomes, to see around the corner, to prophesy with data.

Time and again, events make a mockery of this confidence—yet it persists. The Iraq War’s proponents told us we would be greeted with flowers, that the occupation would be short and sweet. Operation Iraqi Freedom plunged the country into chaos and civil war that finally redounded to the benefit of Iran. “Wir schaffen das [We can do this],” then-German Chancellor Angela Merkel said of the prospect of absorbing a million migrants. Her decision dramatically destabilized European politics. “Two weeks to flatten the curve” lasted more than two years.

Do you notice similar patterns in the Western response to the Ukraine crisis? I’m afraid I do. From the pictures of grandmothers and photogenic young women taking up Kalashnikovs to defend Ukraine, to (manufactured) stories of Ukrainian troops sacrificing themselves rather than surrender, we are being bombarded with one-sided, emotionally gripping images.

We are once more treating dissidents and critics as traitors and villains and “Putin shills.” The same people who accused lockdown critics of murderous indifference are now accusing critics of escalation of…the same thing: Capizzi on Monday assailed the Harvard Law scholar Adrian Vermeule for “liking” a map circulating online showing Russian forces encirclement of the Ukrainian city of Kharkov. Vermeule was guilty of something, because he had clicked “like” on a map of a place “where innocents are dying.”

And we are once more touting our own mastery over events that are rather hard to master. The usual hawkish suspects are feeding the dream of a hopeless Ukrainian resistance. These figures are likely merely deepening the Ukrainian people’s pain, without altering the ultimate outcome of the conflict. And measures that could plausibly alter the outcome bear the unfortunate risk of bringing us close to the brink of all-out war with Moscow.

Perhaps that is what many Americans want. But those who are comfortable with the escalation cycle and think they’re prepared to accept the downsides might consider if they’re viewing events from deep inside an information trap.

[Breitbart] The National Guard of Ukraine has shared video footage of “Azov fighters” greasing bullets with pig fat for Chechen “orcs” deployed in their country on their verified Twitter account.

The Checehn Republic, a Muslim-majority federal subject of the Russian Federation headed by Islamist strongman Ramzan Kadyrov, is reported to have sent forces to Ukraine to support President Vladimir Patin’s ongoing invasion of the country, with Kadyrov sharing video footage which purports to show Chehen fighters replacing the Ukrainian flag with a Russian flag at a captured military facility.

Kadyrov has boasted he could amass a 70,000-strong force to send to Ukraine at a rally of a reported 12,000 fighters in Chechnya’s regional capital of Grozny, and the Western press has been alive with lurid if weakly-evidenced reports of Kadyrov’s fearsome Kadyrovtsy “hunters” — notorious for alleged human rights violations including kidnapping and torture — have already been deployed to eliminate Ukrainian officials marked for death by the Kremlin.

The “Azov fighters” of the National Guard of Ukraine who have filmed themselves smearing bullets intended for “the Kadyrov orcs” with pig fat — which Muslims consider fundamentally unclean — are almost equally notorious, being former paramilitaries of the Azov Battalion, a volunteer militia with strong neo-Nazi links which was only integrated into the Ukrainian military proper in 2014.

#1  Sunday night - Kiev's mayor says evacuation not possible since his city is now completely surrounded:

In an interview with The Associated Press on Sunday, after a grueling night of Russian attacks on the outskirts of the city, Mayor Vitali Klitschko was silent for several seconds when asked if there were plans to evacuate civilians if Russian troops managed to take Kyiv.

“We can’t do that, because all ways are blocked,” he finally said, speaking in English. “All ways are blocked and right now we are encircled — everywhere is Russians and we don’t have a way to evacuate the people. And everyone who had plans to evacuate himself already moved.”

#2  Ah, the Azov fighters: fascism's finest. And you guys pretend that Ukraine isn't full of neo-Nazis. Do you work for Fakebook?

https://theintercept.com/2022/02/24/ukraine-facebook-azov-battalion-russia/

In a statement to The Intercept, Facebook spokesperson Erica Sackin confirmed the decision to allow previously-banned Azov but declined to answer questions about why the 180-degree switch to the new policy.

Azov’s formal Facebook ban began in 2019, and the regiment, along with several associated individuals like Biletsky, were designated under the company’s prohibition against hate groups, subject to its harshest “Tier 1” restrictions that bar users from engaging in “praise, support, or representation” of blacklisted entities across the company’s platforms.

Facebook’s previously secret roster of banned groups and persons, published by The Intercept last year, categorized the Azov Battalion alongside the likes of the Islamic State and the Ku Klux Klan, all Tier 1 groups because of their propensity for “serious offline harms” and “violence against civilians.” Indeed, a 2016 report by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights found that Azov soldiers had raped and tortured civilians during Russia’s 2014 invasion of Ukraine.

Niger State: Bandits killed 17 killed in 16 villages Saturday, 8 kidnapped from nearby church Sunday

About eight worshippers have been abducted by terrorists during a church service at Salama Baptist Church in a village called Gidigori in the Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.

A source from the community told Daily Trust the incident occurred at about 10 am on Sunday, adding that the pastor of the Church was among the abductees.

It was gathered that the church is close to Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State.

Similarly, in December 2020, a 37-year-old pastor with the Evangelical Church Winning All in Chikuba town in the Shiroro Local Government Area of the state, Reverend Jeremiah Ibrahim, was killed by bandits.

The victim was killed when the assailants invaded his church.

Also in November 2021, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Kaduna State, Rev. Joseph Hayab, confirmed the killing of two persons and the abduction of 66 worshippers. He also said three other victims were seriously injured by the bandits.

At least 17 people, including a father and son, were killed when suspected bandits raided villages in Mashegu, Lavun and Wushishi Local Government Areas of Niger State. Many fled their homes as a result of the attacks, which occurred between 12pm and 8pm on Saturday.

In the Mashegu Local Government Area, the villages attacked were Sahon-Rami, Igbede, Chekaku, Ubegi, Maishankafi and Poshi.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Mashegu Local Government Chairman, Mohammed A. Isah, said the Chief of Staff to Mashegu Local Government Chairman, Umar Ubegi, and his father were killed during the attack. Also killed was the Village Head of Poshi, and seven others in Sahon-Rami and Maishankafi.

“They moved from one village to the other on motorcycles, killing and kidnapping people. They also rustled cows belonging to villagers. About 13 communities were sacked and people have fled. Tension is high in our local government now. These people have been operating since Friday. But only one village was attacked on Friday which was Sahon-Rami. The remaining villages were attacked today (Saturday),” he said.

In the Lavun Local Government Area, ten villages were reportedly attacked, leaving no fewer than three persons dead while 3 others were kidnapped.

The villages attacked in Lavun Local Government were Egbako, Dabban, Kupa, Ndaruka, Tsogi, Mawogi, Yemi, Managi, Kanko and Gogaga. Yakubu Mohammed, a resident of Egbako, one of the communities attacked, said, “They started the operation around 12pm, moving from one village to another. For now, we have only discovered the dead bodies of three persons. They also went away with three others.”

The affected communities are 36 kilometres away from Bida, and less than 30 kilometres from the palace of Etsu Nupe.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
The Russian perspective: The situation in various directions in Ukraine by February 28
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Andrey Chervonets is a Russian military blogger:

Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine on the border with Belarus will still start, but will not start today, as expected, but tomorrow morning

The map from the Ukrainian railways gives a certain idea of the operational situation in the country

North direction
There is not much news from here. In Kiev, the RF Armed Forces advanced in the area of Gostomel and Bucha. By evening, Bucha was in the hands of the RF Armed Forces. The assault on Kyiv was not undertaken.

In the city itself, the left bank is a zone of relative calm. Adjusted for current conditions. There were several explosions in Troyeschina of unknown origin, there are isolated cases of looting and shooting.

A positive role is played by the fact that local crazy people have a minimum of weapons on their hands. What can not be said about the Right Bank and especially Obolon. The right bank is all the most interesting in the north-west of the capital. Apparently, the concentration of forces of the Russian Armed Forces continued there during the day.

Central direction
In Kharkov and the suburbs continue to clean up. Kharkov Mayor Terekhov explained to people in the subway that it is necessary to negotiate with the newly arrived authorities so that neither the city nor the people suffer.

There is information that from the national battalions people change into civilian clothes, sit down with ordinary people in the basement, and when there are sweeps, they threaten people and say "be quiet."

Fighting near Sumy and Chernigov.
Kupyansk is completely taken. Warehouses in Balakliya exploded all night. Fights - during the day. Columns of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation go to Izyum .

Donetsk front
The army of the LPR came to Severodonetsk . An offensive is underway in the north of the LPR.
They have been in Severodonetsk since the war began.
In the DPR - great successes. Mariupol surrounded - fighting on the near approaches. Russian troops march from Berdyansk to Mangush.

North of Mariupol, the DPR army reached Volnovakha and surrounded it during the day.
Also they have been there since the start of the war.
The Mariupol-Volnovakha highway was cut.

Mariupol is almost cut off. The RF Armed Forces are coming from Berdyansk.

The capture of Granite and the encirclement of Volnovakha, coupled with the situation in Mariupol, gives reason to assert that by February 27, the unified defense system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the southern direction had actually begun to disintegrate.

The army of the DPR shows itself well when breaking through the layered defense, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been building for eight years.
They're still militia.
Liberated City of Schastye. A city dweller talks about how people lived under the occupation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who and from where shelled Shchastya in the last week before the liberation

Southern Direction
In Zaporozhye , the RF Armed Forces passed Tokmak yesterday and are approaching Zaporozhye from the south and southeast with significant forces. Several settlements were taken south of Zaporozhye, part of the group passed Zaporozhye, heading to the northeast. One of the goals of the grouping is access to the rear communications of the AFU grouping in the Donbass.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are concentrating troops near Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk.

Near Nikolaev - the situation without significant changes. History
in Odessa . Yesterday, in the chat of one ZhK, they spent half a day rushing around with marks on hatches, picking up recordings from cameras (which do not cover the area where hatches are located), arguing whether it is necessary to inform the SBU or just paint over; then swore to paint over or fall asleep. As a result, the SBU reported, and painted over, and fell asleep.
I don't understand it either
And in the evening, the engineer responsible for building up the street where the hatches were painted and covered with gravel came to read the chat. It turned out that he and his assistant drew crosses on the hatches for something. It would all be funny if it weren't so sad. Psychosis is a terrible thing, it is useless to appeal to the minds of these people now.

From Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
Situation for February 27th
1. Fighting continues in Kharkov. There are losses on both sides. An air defense regiment surrendered near Kharkov - under 500 prisoners.

2. In Kyiv, the RF Armed Forces are advancing near Gostomel and Bucha. Fights are underway for Irpin. Fighting continues in the Vasilkovo area. The area of control is expanding to the west of the city. Explosions are periodically heard in Kyiv. The police on the left bank fled.

3. Kupyansk is completely taken, local authorities are assisting. Warehouses in Balakliya exploded all night. The fighting continued in the evening and at night.

4. The LPR army went to Severodonetsk. Today, in fact, the battles for the city begin. Fighting for Volnovakha began in the DPR. Mariupol is almost cut off. The RF Armed Forces are coming from Berdyansk.

5. In Zaporozhye, the Russian Armed Forces passed Tokmak yesterday and are approaching Zaporozhye from the south and southeast.

6. In Ukraine, they began to release criminals (including Onishchenko and Semenchenko) and distribute weapons to them. Also began deliveries of weapons from NATO countries.

7 Russia's relations with the West are flying to the point of absolute zero. The world is changing online every day.

8. Zelensky refused to negotiate on the demands of the Russian Federation.

#1  Country to western tabloid press spam, David P Goldman of AsiaTimes reports that their western military intel sources' info is that Russians are taking their time and preparing to encircle Kiev and other cities

NEW YORK – Russian forces are driving the Ukraine army into pockets of envelopment, well-informed European military sources told Asia Times.

“The Russians are in no hurry,” a European military intelligence analyst wrote in a text message. “They will engage and drive the Ukrainians into several pockets. Then they will ask them to talk or kill them. It’s a time-honored tactic.”

There are three major Russian encirclement maneuvers presently in progress, the intelligence source added. The first is in the south, with troops moving to the west of Mariupol, the largest city in the breakaway Donbass region whose independence Russia recognized last week.

Russian columns are moving north on the west side of the 70-kilometer highway that connects Mariupol and Mykolaivka. In Donbass, Russian forces are bypassing heavily entrenched Ukrainians on the so-called Line of Control, threatening the Ukrainian fortifications from the rear.

Kiev is already encircled, its mayor told the Associated Press late on February 27: “Mayor Vitali Klitschko was silent for several seconds when asked if there were plans to evacuate civilians if Russian troops managed to take Kiev,” the AP reported. “We can’t do that, because all ways are blocked,” he finally said. “Right now we are encircled.”

Google Maps shows that roads close to the capital on the west side of the Dnieper River are closed, presumably by Russian columns pushing south from Belarus.

Russia appears to be trying to minimize casualties—a potential political liability for Putin—and avoiding frontal assaults on entrenched Ukrainian positions or urban warfare in Ukraine’s major cities.

Instead, the Russian Army is fighting a war of position, with the aim of cutting off Ukraine’s best units from resupply and forcing a negotiated settlement on Moscow’s terms.

The Russian Army knows the terrain and tactics well. During the Second World War, Ukraine was the setting for history’s biggest battles of encirclement.

The German envelopment of Russia’s Southwestern Front in the First Battle of Kiev in 1941 resulted in over 700,000 Russian casualties.

In 1943, the Soviet First Ukrainian front attempted to envelop and annihilate the German Army Group South. Although this failed – as did the Germans’ attempt at a counter-envelopment – Russian forces retook the city of Kiev and left German forces exhausted.

They killed and raped. Residents of Donbass - about the crimes of the Kiev Nazis
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Timur Kondratiev

[REGNUM] In 2014, a coup d'état took place in Ukraine with the support of Western countries, after which the Kyiv junta sent national battalions and armed forces to the Donbass, the inhabitants of which refused to support the new government. The war between Kyiv and the Donbass lasted eight years, Ukrainian punishers regularly shelled the territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics from heavy weapons, during the punitive operation more than a thousand civilians were killed, including women, children, and the elderly.

#3  Not fiction: here are facts about your brave UA comrades fighting for a free and independent Nazi Ukraine, the Totenkopf-brandishing Waffen-SS worshippers who are linked to Nazi groups all over the world.

https://www.foiaresearch.net/organization/misanthropic-division

The Misanthropic Division is a world-wide neo-Nazi network, which in 2014 emerged in Ukraine, some of whose members fought as mercenaries against pro-Russian separatists in the war in Donbass. The Misanthropic division is closely linked to the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion, now part of Ukraine's National Guard. It fights for the independence of Ukraine - both from Russia and the European Union - with the goal of establishing a Nazi state.12

Amnesty International accuses them of serious human rights violations. The division maintains networks in Europe, USA, Canada, South America and Australia, which are also used to train and recruit fighters.3

Its members are considered racist and prone to violence. Among other things, they glorify National Socialism and the Waffen-SS. The Misanthropic Division is using a logo that is inspired by the Totenkopf (death's head) symbol that was one of the most readily recognized symbols of the Nazi Schutzstaffel (SS).

#7  I always find the idea of Slavs as neo-Nazis amusing. Real Nazis considered Slavs as deserving of genocide as Jews, just that they had to conquer beyond Germany’s original borders to get started on the project.

Which means the Azov ones are really merely plain vanilla white supremacists in fancy dress with secret handshakes. The question I have for our Russian visitors is whether Azov cadres went to Russia for the usual white supremacist paramilitary training that so many other white supremacists and neo-Nazis have gotten in recent decades — as of two years ago the Russian Imperial Movement ran the Partizan military camp just outside St Petersburg, for instance.

I though Putin was justified when he took Crimea. That was never a part of Ukraine. But now he's has gone far enough and then some. He's made his point. Take Donbass if you must. Call it a great victory if that will save your face, and leave the rest of Ukraine alone.

#20  Why can't you Germans and the rest of the world's Nazis stay the fuck out?

Here is reality: in Odessa on May 2014, Ukrainian Nazis slaughtered over 100 civilians -- burned them alive, shot them as they were trying to escape a burning building the Nazis set in fire, hacked them to pieces in the streets.

THIS IS FACT. There is extensive eyewitness evidence in the form of horrifying videos and photos of this barbarism. They're easily found -- search for photos Odessa fire massacre. They're authentic.

They document the same sort of barbarism that Nazis brought upon millions in Ukraine, and Russia and all across Europe.

Believe whatever makes you feel better but STOP DENYING THESE FACTS.

And German Nazi-deniers need to stay the fuck out. Haven't you done enough damage to the world already?

#21  Nice of Russia to send one of its Hitler Youth Putin Puppets to spew propaganda trying to mask the war crimes of Russia with "whatabout-isms" of questionable veracity and provenance.

There are none without sin in this - but the Russians are the far greater ones by committing an overt act of war including war crimes against civilins as evidenced by independent video online, free of the spin of the various news agencies.

Lets start with a simple one: you can now try to provide justification for that armored vehicle that deliberately drove into and over an elderly person in a private vehicle that was simply attempting to drive away from the area.

Here's your clue: there is no excuse for it, any more than the allegation you make. Show incontrovertible evidence, not just your unsubstantiated one-sided anecdotes and deliberately slanted language designed to inflame rather than inform, also while omitting the crimes committed by the separatists as well.

And why is Russia using a notorious Chechen unit to do their dirty work? Evidence is there in the 56 vehicles and dead Chechen General that were attempting to hunt down President Zelensky.

There are no clean hands here, and what you seem to not understand is the things you describe, even if partially true, do not absolve Russia of being very much in the wrong in this full-scale invasion, on a far large and far worse level.

(hint: you're using one of the favorite tools of fascists and propagandists, its a fallacious argumentation technique called "tu quoque")

Videos and Photos of the Odessan Massacre
BY ERIC ZUESSE

For the first time in history, an organized massacre of civilians has been filmed by many people from many different angles and perspectives while it was happening, and is documented in extraordinary detail in “real time,” the perpetrators having no fear of any negative consequences from their endeavor, and even cheering and celebrating the tortures and deaths as they

Background: On May 2nd, the Ukrainian Government in Kiev, located in the west, ordered local governments in the country’s east to take over the buildings that were being occupied by Russian-speaking Ukrainians who didn’t recognize the legitimacy of that newly installed and U.S.-supported Ukrainian government. There was violence in many cities, one being Odessa, where Russian-speaking Ukrainians were taken into the Trade Unions Building (viewed as leftist by the conservative political parties) and were massacred by burning, gunshots, and other means.

This video from George Eliason, an American living in Ukraine, shows the Trade Unions Building starting to be firebombed; then at 2:28 a big firebomb is blasted into the building and there are cheers, but by the end of the video the flames are strong and the sky can hardly be seen because of the dense smoke from the burning building:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HOfLxp896I&feature=youtu.be

The next video shows the firebombs (Molotov cocktails) being thrown into the Odessa Trade Unions Building, and occupants escaping to the roof:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9AMjLBIliw – t=10

This next, very brief, video shows the burning building from the street, with someone (who is identified on other videos as “Mykola”) firing a gun in the direction of the burning building:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypnu0vteNto

This next video shows a crowd of anti Russian-speaking men from the neo-Nazi Pravy Sector (or “Right Sector,” paramilitary racist anti-Russian nationalist Ukrainian party) herding Russian-speaking Ukrainians into the burning building:

This video from Eliason shows members of Pravy Sector throwing stones and firing rifles into the building:

This brief video from Eliason shows people jumping out of windows from the burning building:

This video from Eliason shows people with clubs beating to death to finish off several people who had just jumped from the windows:

This brief (2:06) video, which was uploaded to youtube on 6 May 2014,

shows an Odessan who is in a street-crowd right after the massacres had occurred on May 2nd, and he’s being asked questions about what had happened. A passerby with a cellphone recorded this brief interview, and the questions came from members of the crowd, who wanted his account.

Here’s a transcript of the video’s printed subscript’s English translation, retaining its typos exactly as they were shown in the film-clip (except that the curse-words aren’t shown letter-for-letter):

Those who were collecting the bodies said: we were walking on the dead bodies … [How many people got killed there?] If we take the whole day, 116. … They are burying them secretly.

They were collecting the bodies and finished off the wounded. [Did they poison them with some gas?] Not only with gas. They used stan granades, guns, traumatic guns, pump-action rifles. They chased the people into the building and finished them there. Two guys were clubbed to death with sticks. Is it normal? Is it a f–king united country?

They burned a woman with two children alive. In the first floor this woman and two children were killed. …

And the Media called us … I’m sorry but I will talk [to the media]! The Ukrainian [Kiev] Media call us terrorists. But the Right Sector [a Western-oriented neo-Nazi party, prominent in the new Kiev government], the wankers, chased us up to the roof of the builing. They threw Molotov Cocktails at us and cried ‘Death to enemies’. To what enemies [he asked them]? And then they cried [out in support of] ‘United Ukraine’. [He replied] F–k the United Ukraine. F–k this countrry [the newly installed government in Kiev]. [How all this was going chronologically?] Chronologically? They came … [Were there any children killed?] There were many children, women and old people murdered. They finished off the wounded. With headshots. They jumped on their heads. The police couldn’t do anything, they only cordoned off the building. The police tried to come up, a grenade burst among them, and they jumped on the dead bodies. [Where are the rest of the bodies?] The rest of the bodies are six kilometers from Odessa. We need to go there and take them. [unclear question] My name is Vania. [He turns to go.]

showing (as he titles them) “Pregant woman strangled with cord,” “Torture- Gasoline poured over his head,” and “Rape and torture victim.”

This next item is a picture of the burning building, and a list of the first 36 identified corpses:
http://www.unian.net/politics/914899-stali-izvestnyi-imena-36-pogibshih-v-stolknoveniyah-v-odesse.html

This group of photos includes both the photo of the strangled pregnant woman and the video recorded from the ground below while she was screaming for help:

The following 59-second video taken right before the operation shows local Odessa police forces en-masse refusing to participate in it, dropping their shields and walking off, instead of following their instructions from the central government in Kiev:
http://users.livejournal.com/_devol_/882549.html
The Ukrainian title right below that video translates as “Part of the Odessa Police refused to stand in the cordon.”

Next is a photo of two Right Sector girls smiling into the camera while carrying Molotov cocktails to the building to join in the massacre:

The following 9-minute video was taken by a Right Sector person wandering through the wrecked burnt-out building on the night of May 2nd after the job was done, to inspect the corpses and record with pride and satisfaction the results of a day’s work:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vv9_z6Cdf3g

The last two mentioned items are linked to on May 2nd, the very day of the events, at this informative blogpost:
http://www.moonofalabama.org/2014/05/ukraine-imf-lose-the-east-and-get-more-money/comments/page/2/
where the 9-minute video is described thusly: “The people either suffocated to death or/and were beaten to death. The fascists are searching the corpses for their identification and names and contacts of their friends … apparently to put them on the list of further fascist terror.” Wallets are taken, etc., for that investigative purpose. So, the victims’ families might now also be in danger.

Also linked-to there is a photo of a coterie of about 6 girls pouring from a gasoline can into beer-bottles to make the Molotov cocktails. They looked like a group of friends simply enjoying a street-party:

1.08 Everything around is already burning. Injured people are lying on the ground.
1.18 1.20 Maidan activist Mykola is running and shooting at people, who are trying to escape from the window.
5.40-5.50 attackers throw more fire to the window and then are shouting “GOAL!!!”
6.25 – 7.13 Mykola … is shooting at people who are trying to catch air and are seen from the window.
8.10 Maidan activists are telling each other to go to the backyard, because people are trying to escape from there
8.26 Crowd is shouting “They are escaping! Run to the backyard!”
14.15 People, who are still alive are shouting “Police, you have been bought as scums and all of you will go to prison afterwards!”
14.41 Man from the window is shouting “Citizens of Odessa city, rise up!”
16.40 People start to jump from the window. 2, 3, 4 dead bodies. [Not shown, but only mentioned in the conversation.]
21.00 Still alive girls are shouting from the second and third floor.
23.00 Burning man has fallen from the window. Crowd is happy.

#30  Do read Sōrös' own words if you want to understand just wtf this is all about instead of going bwaahaa the humanity! It is not America's fight. Only a fool would interfere on behalf of Europe in this.

Euromaidan-sōrōs-EU-Marshall plan

Soros funded Euromaidan 'protesters' through the International Renaissance Foundation. He supported the anti-Russkie propaganda, and egged on Ukraine to join join join the EU. It's all the globalists, people. Gobbling up sovereignty by selling supranationalism to weak flunky leaders, getting the US, utter fools to fight to consolidate everything and everyone and make the whole world 'sanctionable', then engineering all that power into hands like Biden or Kamala's. So that when the time comes no society is protected by strong nationalist leaders and everything and everyone can be coerced.

This battle is not of one asshole trying to prove a point or save lost glory. It's about two paradigms of Nationhood. A flunky leadership under a supranation protected and policed by NATO, and a militarized sovereign State that will protect its sphere of influence at any cost.

Everything else is noise created by the media, and when all media and all organizations reach consesus on cancelling something, forgive me if I don't start nodding my head. Recent history has taught me to be exceeding skeptical about their labels and explanations.

Putin Joke Going Around Today in Europe and US
Vladimir Putin, wanting to get on the good side of voters, goes to visit a school in Moscow to have a chat with the kids. He talks to them about how Russia is a powerful nation and how he wants the best for the people. At the end of the talk, there is some time for questions. Little Sasha puts her hand up and says "I have two questions: Why did we Russians take Crimea? And why are we sending troops to Ukraine?"

Putin says "Good questions . . ." But just as he is about to answer, the bell rings, and the kids go for lunch.

When they come back, they sit back down and there is room for some more questions so another girl, Misha, puts her hand up and says, "I have four questions. My questions are: Why did the we Russians invade Crimea? Why are we sending troops to Ukraine? Why did the bell ring 20 minutes early for lunch? And where is Sasha?"

Boko Haram, ISWAP Fighters Attack Borno Community, Kill 13 Persons

At least 13 people were reportedly killed by fighters from the Islamic State for West African Province, ISWAP, within 48 hours in Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.

ISWAP on Sunday reportedly attacked Sabongari village, a few kilometres from Damboa town in the Damboa Local Government Area of the state.

“The attackers left seven people dead,” local vigilantes told Daily Post on Sunday.

This comes barely 24 hours after an attack was reported in Mandaragirau and Ghuma villages in the Biu Local Government Area.

It was also less than 48 hours after the insurgents attacked Kautikari village in Chibok, leaving several persons dead.

Locals in Mandaragirau village said this is the second time the insurgents will be attacking their village in February.

According to them, the first time, they abducted some young men from the village, who are still in captivity.

The attack in Mandaragirau village left three persons dead with scores injured, according to locals from the area.

“In Ghuma village, they abducted two girls and looted food items. They also razed down shops and took some livestock with them,” a witness, Umar Audu, said.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
US official confirms: US keeps Wuhan-like dangerous pathogen bio-laboratories in Ukraine. Tells us repeatedly they're not bio-weapons...and then spends a lot of time worrying the Russians will hit them, releasing dangerous pathogens.
One wonders if the usual American suspects — like Anthony Fauci, MD — worked with Russian labs as well.... It seems in character, somehow, and goodness knows the Russians have serious experience on the subject.
[TheBulletin] The Russian invasion of Ukraine may put at risk a network of US-linked labs in Ukraine that work with dangerous pathogens, said Robert Pope, the director of the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program, a 30-year-old Defense Department program that has helped secure the former Soviet Union’s weapons of mass destruction and redirect former bioweapons facilities and scientists toward peaceful endeavors.

The pathogens with which the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program labs work are generally kept frozen, so they can’t replicate and become infectious. The risk the pathogens pose would increase if a building lost power and suffered damage. "If you lose the electrical power, the pathogens in the freezers warm up," he said. "If the ventilation system is damaged, or the building itself is damaged, and these now ambient-temperature pathogens are able to escape the facility, then they can be potentially infectious in the region around the facility."

Although Russian officials and media have misrepresented the US-supported labs in Ukraine and other former Soviet countries in disinformation campaigns, Pope doesn’t believe the Russians will deliberately aim weapons at the labs during the invasion.
Disinformation is information they don't want you to know and that harms their interests.
"I think the Russians know enough about the kinds of pathogens that are stored in biological research laboratories that I don’t think they would deliberately target a laboratory," Pope said. "But what I do have concerns about is that they would ... be accidentally damaged during this Russian invasion."

The invasion could also provide fodder for new disinformation narratives around the labs, Pope feared. The Russians, he said, "could potentially go to one of these facilities and fabricate something that they call evidence of nefarious activity at the facility."
In other words, collect damning evidence of the work being done there. Read between the lines.

#1  So full of shit. They've been lying to you about everything, for years. About their work on Wuhan and their bioweapons work in dozens of countries around the globe.

In the last 24 hours, all "Defense Threat Reduction Office" PDF files from the embassy website (https://ua.usembassy.gov/embassy/kyiv/sections-offices/defense-threat-reduction-office/biological-threat-reduction-program/) were removed without any explanation.

Fortunately, all of the documents detailing contracts related to the bioweapons labs run by the US were archived by internet sleuths:

#2  ISTR after the USSR fell, one of the initiatives was to keep funding Soviet labs so the knowledge didn't go elsewhere. Are these labs the legacy of that policy?

All Hell Breaks Loose As Global Markets Open: Stocks Crash, Oil & Gold Surge
[ZeroHedge] The dead cat bounced Friday.
Buy on the rumour, sell on the news... or is it the other way round? When blood is running in the streets, anyway. Now is the time when people like me should use the play money to take a few profits if they’re there or buy a few blue chip stocks/bonds if they’ve crashed despite solid fundamentals, but otherwise stay away from anything exotic and hold until the players get it out of their system. Those of you clever about such things will do as you please, but you-all understand matters financial in ways I simply can’t despite decades of reading and discussion on the subject. Trailing daughter #2, who takes after Mr. Wife, has promised to advise me should it ever become necessary.

#10  Nearly every ordinary person and every single friend family member acquaintance wants no part of this madness. It was mad for the Ukrainians to flirt with NATO - completely totally irresponsible and foolish - mad for the Americans to tease them with hints about joining NATO and Mad for Putin to invade.

Normal decent humane people want peace. There an obvious solution and only the US president and his diplomats can make it reality.

#12  Just a game to you. "Play money."

My brilliant paternal grandmother was originally Russian, so I know there are those who can read intelligently.

Play money is a term of art associated with investing in the stock market, being defined as money one can afford to lose without going hungry. The name is a warning that if the money is needed for food and shelter, it must not be bet in risky financial markets. The very opposite of a game, in fact, which is why I don’t play.

#13  Stop fucking expanding NATO.
Stop it.
It was an insane delusion to think that any major power would allow a hostile military alliance led by a US hyperpower to put its missiles and bombers and soldiers 300 miles from its capital.

Abandon that foolish and absolutely horrific fantasy.

Alongside this carrot, any rational and even marginally competent leader - unlike your blithering fucking idiot president - would wield a big stick. Not your stupid sanctions, not your ridiculous twitter images of this or that tank burning but the same stick US presidents always use in these crises i.e. your nukes. That's what Trump would have done .. probably did.

Peace is available if and only if the US sends over an intelligent set of diplomats like the ones you used to have before your idiot NATO-expanders got into power

#15  Typical American ignorance and negligence. Before your idiotic sanctions most Russians LIKED Americans. Opinion polls before 2014 showed that a large majority of Russians had a favorable opinion of America and wanted closer relations. Putin himself offered - and gave - real and substantial help in the war against terror.

Your fucking idiot president Obama, your clown diplomat McFaul and your insane neocon plotters in Kiev - Victoria Nuland, plus all the shitty little American carpetbaggers around her - your people trashed Russians' goodwill. You humiliated us, yet AGAIN.

Your stupid fantasies about bringing NATO to the edge of our capital threw this all away. Since 2015 Russians' favorability toward the US has plunged and Russian favorability toeard China has soared.

Nice job, geniuses. Well done, Obama and Nuland. Bravo, McFaul. Hope your carpetbags are stuffed full, Biden et Cie.

Your foolish people turned what should have been friendship and cooperation between two advanced European Christian nations into a totally pointless and destructive squabble.

Man up and take some responsibility. For once.

#16  "Stop asking us to help you"

Who asked for your help? You're so full of sarcasm you can't even think straight.

Normal people as opposed to keyboard Rambos don't want help; they want the US hyperpower' leader to act like one and bring about peace.

The war will conclude one of two ways: either Kiev will look like Grozny did in 2000, or there will be a settlement that ends the war now without further bloodshed.

We and the rest of the great power nations have no use for your idiot leaders but right now, we have no choice. It's America's world disorder. Only the US president can intervene and end this war before tens of thousands are killed.

#24  McFoul was ambassador for 2 years and had little independent authority. His last day as ambassador was 26 Feb 2014 the day before the Russian take over of Crimea. Crimea declared itself an independent country and Russia then declared Crimea part of Russia in March 2014. No US ambassador returned to Moscow until summer 2014.

#26  It's cowboys damnit.

Look get it through your Slavic brain. We just want to be left alone. But NO! you and your European brethren dragged us into two of your fratricidal tribal wars in the first half of the last century. Something a lot American ancestors came here to avoid. Even after the second one, we demobilized and tried to go back to 'normal' but your big leader decided to blockade Berlin. Then that little bit about what your boys did in Czechoslovakia just pushed it further. That made the apparatchiks in Washington reintroduce a peacetime draft, listen to the geopolitical 'geniuses' in London and join something called NATO or as the Brits referred to it - to keep the Germans down, the Americans in, and the Russians out. Planning and funding the North Korean invasion didn't help at all at the time. The defense budget then became the biggest thing in town. All that was the start of the poison that killed the old republic and gave us the oligarchy we have today. Look in the g'damn mirror if you want to see who got us here.

Turkish shelling wounds woman in Hasakah

TEL TAMR, Syria (North Press) – A woman, from a village in the northern countryside of Hasakah, was wounded Sunday due to the Turkish bombardment of the area this morning.

The Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed Syrian opposition factions targeted today the village of Umm al-Khair, wounding the 30-year-old Marwa Khalif.

The woman was wounded by several shrapnel and was taken to a hospital in Hasakah for an urgent operation, a medical source at Legarin Hospital in Tel Tamr told North Press.

This morning, the villages of Tel Shnan were subjected to continuous bombardment for about an hour, with more than 25 artillery shells and mortars, reporting material damage to property, according to an eyewitness.

Later, Turkish bombardment focused on the villages of Umm al-Khair and Dashisha in the western countryside of the town of Tel Tamr.

All areas on the contact lines in the northern countryside of Hasakah up to the northwestern countryside of Raqqa, are witnessing almost daily shelling by Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed Syrian opposition factions.

Turkish drone targets government positions in Aleppo

ALEPPO NORTHERN COUNTRYSIDE, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, a Turkish drone targeted the positions of the Syrian government forces stationing in the town of Tel Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo, north Syria.

This afternoon, a Turkish drone targeted the hill of Tel Rifaat, on the outskirts of the city, where the Syrian government forces are deployed, but no casualties were reported, according to what an eyewitness said.

There is a police station and the State Civil Status Department in the vicinity of the densely populated hill.

On February 15, the town of Tel Rifaat and its surroundings were hit with about 20 shells by the Turkish forces, resulting in the injury of 5 children as well as causing material damage to civilians’ property.

The town of Tel Rifaat, which embraces a part of IDPs of Afrin, has been threatened with invasion by Turkey and its loyal factions since residents of Afrin fled their areas and headed towards the northern countryside of Aleppo amidst the successive shelling that the town is witnessing.

The Syrian government forces accompanied by Russian forces are running the town of Tel Rifaat and its vicinities, where their posts have been deployed since 2018.

Officer of government forces killed in Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – An officer of the government forces plus a civilian were killed on Sunday evening in two separate attacks in the countryside of Daraa.

“Major Maher Wassouf, who was affiliated with the Political Security Branch of the government forces, was killed in an attack by unknown assailants on his car near the town of Sayda in the eastern countryside of Daraa,” a local source told North Press.

“Al-Wasouf was from the city of Jableh in the countryside of Lattakia, and he was in charge of the Nassib border crossing with Jordan.”

“Al-Wasouf was infamous for his blackmail of travelers and truck drivers with the aim of paying royalties,” the sources said.

In a separate incident, a person was deadly shot by unidentified gunmen in the town of al-Naima in the eastern countryside of Daraa.

Daraa, which is completely run by the government forces, has recently witnessed cases of killing of more than 10 people, most of whom were former members of the opposition.

Biden energy policy enriched Russia, emboldened Putin, enabled invasion of Ukraine, critics claim
[JustTheNews] The Biden administration's energy policy — from canceling the Keystone XL Pipeline to acquiescing to Russia's Nord Stream 2 pipeline and canceling federal oil and gas leases — has helped enrich and embolden Russian President Vladimir Putin, facilitating his invasion of Ukraine, critics argue.

When President Joe Biden first took office, he revoked permission for construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline, banned new leases for oil and gas production on federal land, and planned on restricting methane waste emissions from natural gas drilling on public lands. While the U.S. pipeline construction has stopped, a Louisiana federal judge's ruling has delayed the Biden administration's plan to restrict natural gas drilling.

Largely as a result of such sharp restrictions on U.S. energy production, gas prices at the pump have jumped by $1 a gallon from a year ago, and oil prices have skyrocketed to $90 a barrel — the highest levels since the Obama administration.

Last year, Biden also lifted bipartisan congressional sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which was to deliver Russian natural gas to Germany. Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Biden announced that he would reinstitute the sanctions, an announcement that came a day after Germany halted certification of the pipeline.

The only option for Biden to "affect Russian behavior — is to kick them out of the international banking system, and he wouldn't do it," former Deputy National Security Advisor KT McFarland told Fox News on Thursday at CPAC. "Why? Because the Germans and the French and the Italians — nobody wants to go along with it. Why? Because they all rely on Russian energy, Russian oil and natural gas."

New Jersey Democrats Sen. Bob Menendez and Rep. Bill Pascrell also recommended removing Russian banks from the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) payment system.
