[ShabelleMedia] The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has said that it has arrested suspects in connection with the SYL Hotel in Mogadishu last week.
In a brief statement, NISA announced the 16 suspects include some accused of owning the vehicles used in the attack, security forces working at checkpoints, and other people.
NISA added that Abdinasir Dahir Nor who is the person who made it possible for the al-Shabaab ... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa... vehicles carrying bully boyz to enter Mogadishu and pass through the checkpoints.
The attack on the SYL hotel, which is located opposite the Somali Presidency caused the death of three soldiers and injuries of politicians, government officials, and civilians.
The arrest comes amid questions about how al-Shabaab succeeded in bringing in vehicles loaded with explosives and gunnies into the capital to attack the popular SYL Hotel.
Security checkpoints surround the SYL hotel as it is situated in the city’s green zone.
[Garowe] Several members of the Somali National Army (SNA) are said to be missing following an al-Shabaab ... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... attack in downtown Mogadishu on Saturday, the second raid within the Somalia capital in as many days.
Some reports suggested of dawn al-Shabaab attack on a government base in the vicinity of Busley, near Dhanaane, south of Mogadishu. Significant casualties were reported as a result of the early Saturday morning attack, according to government officials.
The base was reportedly manned by different units from the military, military police, and other special security forces. This was the second attack within Mogadishu after al-Shabaab raided SYL Hotel in the capital last week, killing at least five people.
The complex terror attack killed dozens, including senior Military Officer Liban Golcad, according to SNA sources. Besides the missing soldiers, military vehicles were destroyed, with the al-Shabaab taking responsibility for the morning attack.
The al-Shabaab murderous Moslem group in a statement claimed to have killed "more than 57" soldiers, a figure that has not been independently verified. It is not clear whether the missing soldiers were killed or were kidnapped the the turbans who usually ask for ransom.
Security teams have been mobilized in Somalia to search for the missing soldiers, with al-Shabaab, still mum over the latest developments. The elite soldiers man Mogadishu, a city that has been experiencing relative calmness in the last several months.
The al-Shabaab is under surveillance by the Somali National Army, the US Africa Command, and the African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS). In return, al-Shabaab has been targeting security teams in their areas of operations, waging deadly attacks in the process.

"Some 30 to 35 armed pirates are stationed on the ship around the clock. They are trying to exert pressure on the 23 captive sailors since the EU warship has been monitoring MV Abdullah from closer proximity," a family member of captive Engine Oiler Mohammed Shamsuddin told The Business Standard today (23 March).
Concerns over the well-being of the crew are mounting, the family member said.
"The crew members are now barred from staying in the cabin. There is a shortage of fresh water. The captives are facing difficulties with water usage, and everyone is required to share one toilet. They are also facing challenges with food," said the family member.
He, however, reassured that all sailors have been unharmed so far.
Images on social media show the heavily armed pirates on the ship, with one photo depicting them aiming weapons at an EU warship — as posted on X Wednesday from the official accounts of The Daily Somalia and the Indian Air Force.
On 16 March, the Indian Navy rescued the Maltese flag-bearing MV Ruen with 17 crew members. Since then, Somali pirates have been extra cautious about the crews on MV Abdullah.
European naval forces, meanwhile, continue surveillance efforts, including their helicopter patrolling the airspace and the warship stationed at closer proximity to the hijacked ship, as seen in the images and videos posted on the force’s X posts.
Although the EU Naval Force confirmed their presence, they did not disclose any information regarding their mission.
Meanwhile, ...back at the pie fight, Bella grabbed the cocoanut cream... Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud today assured swift action to resolve the crisis.
Given the hazardous nature of the cargo onboard the MV Abdullah, precautionary measures are being implemented to prevent any actions that could jeopardise the safety of the vessel and its crew, he said.
"The safety of both the sailors and the ship is our top priority," the minister affirmed. "We must proceed cautiously to avoid any potential damage to the combustible material on board."
In light of past incidents, the minister stressed the urgency of the situation, recalling the lengthy resolution process of a previous hijacking involving MV Jahan Moni. However, denial ain't just a river in Egypt... he said the government’s active engagement in expediting the resolution process.
Shipowner’s firm stance on peaceful resolution
In response to these developments, Kabir Group, the owner of MV Abdullah, expressed their stance on the safe return of the sailors.
"We are aware through social media that the EU’s warship, helicopter patrols, and presence of heavily armed personnel on MV Abdullah. But we do not support any armed campaign that may jeopardise our sailor’s safety," Kabir Group front man Mizanul Islam said.
"Our priority is the safe return of the sailors through peaceful means. We and the govt have informed the EU or the Indian Navy that we want the repatriation of our crew members and we have no support for anything that puts the lives of our sailors at risk," he added.
Bangladesh Merchant Marine Officers’ Association General Secretary Shakhawat Hossain said, "Due to the EU’s naval force’s presence, there is psychological pressure on the pirates. That’s why the pirates have armed themselves heavily and are trying to exert pressure on the hostages.
"However, denial ain't just a river in Egypt... without Bangladesh’s consent, there is no scope for the EU to conduct operations on Bangladeshi ships. Even the Bangladesh government and shipowners have not initiated any military campaign on MV Abdullah till now."
He reiterated that seeking a peaceful resolution remains the only viable option for securing the release of the crew members.
Shakhawat, however, acknowledged that while any military action risks endangering sailors, the ship, and its cargo, it might also present a swift resolution to the crisis.
Eight days after the hijacking, on Wednesday afternoon, the pirates contacted MV Abdullah’s shipowner for the first time. However, denial ain't just a river in Egypt... it could not be known yet what discussions have taken place.
On 12 March, Somali pirates seized control of MV Abdullah carrying coal and manned by 23 crew members, all Bangladeshi, in the Indian Ocean.
According to the latest known location, the pirates anchored the ship off the coast of Somalia’s Gadhavjiran last Friday after changing locations twice.

Security agencies are appealing to Garissa residents to report any suspected bandidosDeath Eaters for action to make the country safe and secure.
This comes weeks after five suspected al-Shabaab snuffies were killed in an operation in Fafi, Garissa County. Police said four others were arrested in the operation and were taken in for further interrogation. Police said they were cooperating well. The group was headed for Fafi from a hideout when they were ambushed on March 2.
During the ambush, the team recovered two PKM machine guns, one RPM, six AK47 rifles and a number of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) making materials. Mobile phones and SIM cards were also recovered, officials said.
A quick analysis of the phones has so far given important leads on a number of local al-Shabaab facilitation network, officials said.
The intelligence-led operation caught the snuffies by surprise as they crossed into Kenya and establish a temporary camp in Fafi area of Garissa. Police said the area is being used as a logistics base for the bandidosDeath Eaters who move to attack targets and retreat there.
This comes in the wake of reports the terror gang has been sending their members to Kenya in the past month in readiness for an attack. Police said they have upped their operations in the area to tame the plans for the attacks.
A number of ambushes have happened in the past months which left dozens of security agents dead and injured. The area is near the Kenya-Somalia border where the snuffies cross and launch attacks inland.
A major operation is ongoing in the area to address al-Shabaab-related attacks, which partly happen due to the proximity to the main Kenya-Somalia border. The bandidosDeath Eaters have been attacking places near the Kenyan border by using guns and explosives leaving dozens dead and many injured.
The recent attacks have forced the government to suspend plans to reopen the Kenya-Somalia border.
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian reports say that festivities have broken out between Israeli troops and locals as the army carries out arrest raids in several areas around the West Bank.
Videos published online show military convoys moving through cities near Ramallah, Jenin and Hebron.
According to official Paleostinian news outlet WAFA, firefights broke out in two areas near Jenin, and soldiers used live ammunition in al-Arroub camp near Hebron, though no injuries are reported in either location.

The United Nations Security Council approved a resolution Monday calling for an "immediate cease-fire" in Israel’s war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
The resolution passed the Security Council 14-0, with the US abstaining and declining to exercise its veto power.
The measure calls for a pause in the fighting to last through the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which ends April 9, as well as the unconditional release of hostages taken in the Oct. 7 Hamas attack in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had demanded the US veto the cease-fire resolution, threatening to cancel plans to send a delegation to Washington to discuss plans for a ground offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.

[AmericanThinker] In Israel, a land that prays for peace even as it’s forced into war, the concept of Iron Sheep—peaceable, productive creatives made strong through their collective history, culture, and efforts—has become an important part of Israel’s strength during the current war.
In America, the word "iron" is used in many contexts. There are "tough as (iron) nails," "iron will," "Iron Man," etc. The strong metal is a metaphor for human strength and stamina. In Israel, "iron" has a similar connotation of strength, as seen in the name for the Gaza conflict: "Swords of Iron." Then, there is the "Iron Dome," referring to the missile defense shield for intercepting short-range projectiles. Recently, we were introduced to the "Iron String," which is a guided mortar shell that limits collateral damage. And, at some point soon, Israel will introduce the "Iron Beam" that concentrates energy into a beam to be used against incoming missiles.
Recently, though, I was introduced to an Israeli concept known as "Iron Sheep" ("tzōn barzel" or "Iron Flock"). Sheep are peaceable animals that gather together, one presumes, to offer comfort and strength to each member of the herd. The metaphor here is of a grouping of events, movements, moments, people, and ideas that are gathered together, forming the continuous history of the Jewish people. In other words, formative cultural assets.
Before October 7, it seems that tzōn barzel, Iron Sheep, was to be an organized exhibition for artistic endeavors. However, the Israeli-Gazan war pushed off the cultural event scheduled to take place at various locations around Jerusalem. The Gazan barbarians caused a delay and, at the same time, gave new impetus to its organizers. Tzōn barzel is now taking place, though. The Jerusalem Biennale website will give the reader a view of these Jewish assets.
It would have been far too prescient to expect the curators of this exhibit to have included references to the Iron Sheep that have now become part of Israeli parlance. The Iron Dome prevented the mass destruction of what the Jews have built in their homeland. The Iron Swords War has been the well-organized response of the Jews to the banal evil of mass slaughter that would otherwise have ended with myriad homeless and dead Israeli citizens. The Iron Sting mortar shell has made it possible for Israeli soldiers to avoid being the mass murderers that the world’s antisemites nevertheless insist they are. And the future use of the Iron Beam will hopefully make war far less inviting for everyone worldwide.
All these Iron developments are truly tzōn barzel, cultural assets. They have preserved the Jewish state so art, craft, scholarship, literature, and music can continue to be rooted in a Jewish historical context. However, these new iron tools of both war and peace would not have been developed without the spiritual nature of Israel’s denizens who, now more than ever, realize the importance, indeed necessity, of an independent Jewish state. There are many among us who wish them to be strengthened in their endeavor.

[WND] Our country is on the verge of so many bad things. A "communist color revolution" is going on right now, complete with censorship, weaponization of government against our own citizens, witch hunts and "communist show trials" (see President Donald Trump and Jan. 6 prisoners/hostages).
Soon we could face revolution, anarchy, civil war, societal collapse — and to anyone who isn't blind, deaf or very dumb, World War III is already here.
All of this is happening in my opinion because of China and the Chinese Communist Party. They've created it, produced it, coordinated it, and they've made it happen by bribing the entire Democratic Party and every Democrat politician, a large percentage of the establishment GOP and all the key U.S. government bureaucrats.

Ben and Jerry's have a lot of fans. I think only a minority of those fans know or care about the company's politics. Perhaps if they could get Yaya Sinwar or Dylan Mulvaney (or better both together with the former killing the latter) to appear in a commercial their politics would be more well known.
Personally, I think it is overpriced and has too much sugar.

In South Dakota, it was previously against the law that any foreign entity to own over 160 acres, but this newest restriction outright bans buyers from China, Iran, Cuba, Russia, Venezuela, and North Korea. All current foreign owners from any other country have three years to transfer their agricultural land or become a legal U.S. resident in order to keep it.
"Well, what I hope the American people realize is that the country that controls our food supply, they control us," Noem said. "China would never — they would never allow Americans to come over and buy their land. They don’t even allow their own people to buy land in China. Why would we ever allow them to come to America and own our property and own land in the middle of the United States that they will use for nefarious actions to control us? I think America needs to wake up. We have our enemy among us. We have no idea how much land they own."

Spent 4 years total underwater in the US Navy. This story is very good. We had to replenish food every 10 weeks. A submarine shower is being sprayed with Rightguard. When emptying sanitary one would apply high pressure air and listen to the “marbles”, when they disappeared, the valve was shut and the pressure vented inboard. We were not able to exercise by running in place or with weights because sound carries. I left after 10 years because I could not go back to “cold” bunking after getting married. When death charged, the ship rings like a bell, vibrations make it shake 5”.

[Federalist] House Republicans are demanding answers from the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) after a whistleblower came forward with allegations of agency interference to thwart investigations into Hunter Biden.
On Thursday, the GOP chairmen of the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees sent CIA Director William Burns a letter seeking records related to claims the CIA acted with the Department of Justice to protect President Joe Biden and his son.
"The information we recently received from the whistleblower seems to corroborate our concerns about DOJ’s deviations from standard process to provide Hunter Biden with preferential treatment," lawmakers wrote. "According to the whistleblower, in August 2021, when IRS investigators were preparing to interview Patrick Kevin Morris, an associate of Hunter Biden, the CIA intervened to stop the interview."
"Two DOJ officials were allegedly summoned to CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia for a briefing regarding Mr. Morris," lawmakers added. "At that meeting, it was communicated that Mr. Morris could not be a witness during the investigation."

Hunter Biden lost his mother Neilia Hunter (Joe Biden's first wife) and sister Naomi Biden in a car accident. He also lost a brother, Beau Biden, to brain cancer. I think that these events contributed to his substance abuse issues along with the fact that his overly politically ambitious father, Joe Biden, never got Hunter the help he really needed. I think Joe Biden provided Hunter a deal where Hunter could make money by claiming he could provide access to his father for a percentage

Way back when I was working in Cambridge, Massachusetts I lived in a town outside of Cambridge. There was a small restaurant named Betty's Breakfast Kitchen. I had breakfast there every Saturday morning. One Saturday I was sitting at the counter. The waitress asked me what I wanted and I said, "I don't suppose you have grits do you?" She said yes. Betty's husband is from Alabama and he likes grits so I ordered them. Just before my breakfast came a black gentleman sat down next to me. When my breakfast came he looked over and literally did a double take. He said, "Is those grits?" I said yes, they are. He yelled back to the kitchen, "Betty! You didn't tell me you had grits!" We had a nice conversation after that.

I think part of the game that is being played is that several states have laws in place to prevent precounting any ballots before the polls close. The encouragement for everybody to vote by mail takes the counting activities out of the precincts in puts it into the centralized counting locations. This also builds in an excuse for extending the counting period. The absentee ballots are checked in but not scanned. Once the precinct reports are in, the cheaters can then assign any needed fake ballots to voter files that did not vote. Fake ballots can be assigned to fake voters immediately, but the counting freeze was because the Trump count exceeded Biden voters + fake voters. They needed fake ballots assigned to non-voters to get the job done.

Possibly the disrupted attack on the synagogue was meant to be part of it, Gletle Crique8919, but I see no hint that this was meant to go much beyond the attack on the concert. As a result of the strike, the work of industrial enterprises for the manufacture and repair of weapons, military hardware, and ammunition has been disorganised, and foreign-made military equipment and means of destruction transferred to Ukraine by NATO countries have been destroyed.
