Thousands of regular service soldiers get orders for 4 more months amid IDF manpower shortage – report
[IsraelTimes] Amid a shortage of troops, thousands of soldiers who were set to be released from their mandatory service have received orders that they will serve for a further four months, Channel 12 news reports.

The military is suffering manpower shortages caused by the war against Hamas

and hostilities on the northern border.

The army called up some 287,000 reservists in the immediate wake of the October 7 onslaught, marking the largest-ever mobilization in Israel’s history.

The issue of conscription is a hot-button topic, as the ultra-Orthodox have long enjoyed exemptions from military service, protesting or refusing draft orders and seeking to enshrine the exemption in law. Many in the Haredi world view army service and wider integration with the secular world to be a threat to their religious identity and the continuity of insular community traditions.

Ultra-Orthodox politicians have long pushed for legislation formally codifying their constituents’ exemption from military service, which has been among the most contentious issues in society over the last two decades.

US fighter jets strike underground Houthi storage sites in Yemen

s, as the Iran-backed rebels continue to launch attacks on shipping in the Red Sea.

According to a US official, the strikes were carried out by fighter jets that took off from the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier, which is in the Red Sea.

Strikes and explosions were seen and heard in Sanaa on Friday night, according to witnesses and videos, some circulating on social media. Footage showed explosions and smoke rising over the Houthi-controlled capital.

There was no official confirmation of the injured or the origin of the earth-shattering kabooms. Yemeni TV station al-Masirah, which is linked to the Houthis, reported strikes hitting the city.

In a statement late Friday, US Central Command said its forces also destroyed four unmanned aerial vehicles in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.

Central Command also said Houthis fired four anti-ship ballistic missiles toward the Red Sea, but no injuries or damage were reported by US, coalition or fat merchantmen.

The head of the Houthi supreme revolutionary committee, Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, said earlier there had been "reckless" US-British attacks on Yemen. The Houthi-run Saba News Agency said US and British aircraft had launched five raids on Hodeidah, the area where Yemen’s main port is located.

City’s Shifa Hospital.
The IDF first cleared the hospital a month ago or more, then waited for it to fill up again with bad guys before hitting it a second time. Kind of like setting up a deer stand overlooking a salt lick…
In the raid, which began early Monday and is being led by the Navy’s Shayetet 13 commando unit and the 401st Armored Brigade, the IDF said troops located infrastructure belonging to terror groups and caches of weapons.

According to World Health Organization head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the medical site has become inaccessible due to the fighting.

On social media, he shared a harrowing account from a doctor there, who said two patients on life support had died from lack of electricity, while others at death's door were lying on the floor.

"These conditions are utterly inhumane," Tedros wrote. "We call for an immediate end to the siege."

International law stipulates that while a medical facility is a protected site, it loses that status if it is used for military activity, as Israel alleges Hamas has done on a large scale.

Meanwhile,
...back at the wreckage, Captain Poindexter wished he had thought to pack sun block...
the IDF said that over the past day, the Israeli Air Force struck some 35 sites across the Gaza Strip, including command rooms and other infrastructure belonging to terror groups.

In central Gaza, the IDF said troops of the Nahal Brigade killed some 15 terror operatives during "intense fighting."

In southern Gaza’s al-Qarara, the IDF said the 7th Armored Brigade directed Arclight airstrike

The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry reported in a preliminary tally early Saturday morning that another 67 people had been killed overnight, including 10 in a strike on a home north of Gaza City. The figures cannot be independently verified.

arrived in Egypt, where he plans to meet with aid workers on the Egyptian side of Rafah, just across the border from the Gazook city where around 1.5 million Paleostinians are sheltering.

The question of a ground offensive on the city has become a matter of dispute between Israel and Washington.

"We have no way to defeat Hamas without getting into Rafah and eliminating the battalions that are left there," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Friday.

Netanyahu has said the IDF will evacuate the civilians to areas north of Rafah before beginning the operation and has approved the military’s plans for the offensive.

But US Secretary of State Antony Blinken
...71st United States secretary of state and a leading light of the corrupt and inept Biden administration. He previously served as deputy national security advisor from 2013 to 2015 and deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017 under the corrupt and inept Obama administration. He advocated for the 2003 invasion of Iraq while serving as the Democratic staff director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2002 to 2008. He was a foreign policy advisor for the Biden 2008 presidential campaign. During his tenure in the Obama administration, Blinken helped craft B.O.'s policy on Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the nuclear program of Iran. We all saw how well each of those worked. After leaving government service, Blinken moved into the private sector, co-founding WestExec Advisors, a lobbying firm...
argued an invasion of Rafah was "not the way to achieve" that aim, and warned starkly that it would risk more civilian fatalities, undermine aid assistance, risk greater isolation for Israel and endanger its security and international standing.

US officials say the number of aid deliveries via land needs to increase fast and that aid needs to be sustained over a long period. Israel says it is not restricting aid, and has blamed the deteriorating humanitarian situation on aid agencies’ failure to distribute supplies.

"We have the same goals as Israel: the defeat of Hamas," the top American diplomat wrote on X, after meeting with Netanyahu on Friday. "Next week I will meet again with Israeli officials in Washington to discuss a different way we can achieve this objective."

"Hard disagree," wrote Democratic Senator John Fetterman on X, in response to Blinken’s charge that Israel would become isolated. "Israel shouldn’t face isolation when Hamas snuffies are still present and hiding behind civilians.

"Hamas owns this humanitarian catastrophe and must surrender, release the hostages NOW, or be eliminated," added Fetterman, who has been a vocal supporter of Israel since the war erupted.

Hezbollah claims it targeted Iron Dome battery near Kfar Blum with armed UAVs
[IsraelTimes] IDF says no damage or injuries in attack, incident under investigation; fighter jets strike south Lebanon buildings used by Lebanese terror group

...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozen flavors of Christians, plus Armenians, Georgians, and who knows what else? It is the home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. went kaboom! near the northern community of Kfar Blum early Saturday afternoon, causing no injuries.

The launches were apparently responsible for sirens heard around 12:30 p.m. in several communities close to the border, which have been largely evacuated.

The Upper Galilee Regional Council said the impacts caused a fire but no casualties.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, no damage or injuries were caused in the attack and the incident is being investigated.

Hezbollah claimed to have targeted an Iron Dome battery near Kfar Blum with two explosive-laden drones.

Later Saturday, the IDF said it struck a building in southern Lebanon’s Kafr Kila, after a Hezbollah operative was spotted entering it. The operative was identified by the 869th Combat Intelligence Collection Unit, and a short while later a fighter jet struck the building, the military said.

In Naqoura and Ayta ash-Shab, also in south Lebanon, the IDF said fighter jets struck additional buildings used by Hezbollah, as well as an observation post in Khiam.

Hezbollah also launched a number of rockets and missiles at the Mount Dov, Margaliot and Shomera areas, causing no injuries, according to the IDF.

Since October 8, Hezbollah-led forces have attacked Israeli communities and military posts along the border on a near-daily basis with rockets, drones, anti-tank missiles and other means, with the group saying it is doing so to support Gazoo

are backed by Iran.

The IDF has regularly responded with strikes in Lebanon, while warning it will no longer tolerate Hezbollah’s presence on the frontier and warning of war in the north should ongoing international efforts fail to remove the terror group’s forces from the border area.

The war in Gaza erupted after Hamas’s October 7 massacres, which saw some 3,000 bandidos turbans burst across the border into Israel by land, air and sea, killing some 1,200 people and seizing 253 hostages, mostly civilians.

Vowing to destroy Hamas, Israel launched a wide-scale military campaign in Gaza. Hamas’s Iran-backed ally Hezbollah responded with strikes and attacks on the northern front.

So far, the skirmishes on the border have resulted in seven civilian deaths on the Israeli side, as well as the deaths of 10 IDF soldiers and reservists. There have also been several attacks from Syria, without any injuries.

Hezbollah has named 244 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon, but some also in Syria. In Lebanon, another 42 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier and at least 30 civilians, three of whom were journalists, have been killed.

Amid the constant attacks from Lebanon, Israeli officials maintain the country will no longer accept Hezbollah’s presence along the border, in contravention of the UN resolution that ended the 2006 Second Lebanon War. They say from those positions, the bandidos turbans could launch an attack similar to Hamas’s October 7 attacks in southern Israel.

Jerusalem also says the situation whereby tens of thousands of northern residents have been driven from their homes for months by Hezbollah’s attacks is intolerable and unsustainable.

IDF confirms northern Lebanon strike, saying jets struck Hezbollah weapons manufacturing plant

[IsraelTimes] The IDF confirms reports of an Arclight airstrike

in the northern Lebanese city of Baalbek earlier tonight, saying its warplanes targeted a Hezbollah weapons manufacturing plant.

It also confirms Hezbollah’s claim to have fired a retaliatory barrage of rockets at northern Israel, but says it only detected 50 launches into Israeli territory. Hezbollah claimed to have fired 60 rockets.

The IDF says several of the Hezbollah rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, while the rest landed in open areas. There were no reports of injuries or damage.

In response, the IDF said its forces immediately targeted some of the rocket launchers used in the attack on Israel.
More:
Three people were wounded by Israeli air strikes on Lebanon’s eastern city of Baalbek overnight, one of which hit a two-story building, an AFP correspondent says

The city is a stronghold of the Hamas ally Hezbollah, and it is the third time the area has been hit in more than five months of fighting between Israel and the Iran-backed Lebanese terror group.

The AFP correspondent says the Israeli strikes targeted a Hezbollah site that had been deserted for some time, wounding three residents in nearby buildings.

IDF names soldier killed in West Bank sniper attack; battalion chief seriously hurt
[IsraelTimes] Palestinian terrorist opened fire at minibus, ambulance, and troops searching for him near Dolev on Friday; military maps his home for demolition

The Israel Defense Forces on Saturday evening announced the death of a soldier killed in a terror shooting attack carried out by a Palestinian sniper in the West Bank a day earlier.

He was named by the IDF as Sgt. First Class Ilay David Garfinkel, 21, of the Commando Brigade’s Duvdevan unit, from the central community of Sitria.

In the sniper attack near the settlement of Dolev on Friday morning, the commander of the 668th “Ram” Search and Rescue Battalion and another soldier were also seriously wounded. Five other troops were lightly and moderately hurt, the IDF said.

Mujahid Barakat Mansour attacked early Friday morning, shooting at an Israeli minibus, which lead to an hours-long exchange of fire and resulted in him being killed in a helicopter strike. Troops began a pursuit after the gunman following the initial attack, during which they came under fire several times throughout the morning.

A Magen David Adom ambulance was also targeted during the attack, with no injuries caused to the service’s medics.

According to the IDF’s initial probe of the attack, Mansour was using a sniper rifle and had opened fire from behind a makeshift cover in a forested area near Dolev. The gunman moved between several positions that he had set up in the area, which he had reached overnight, the probe found.

The IDF said it scrambled an attack helicopter and drones in its search for the terrorist.

The Israeli Air Force helicopter carried out gunfire in the area where the terrorist was believed to be, in an attempt to flush him out. Meanwhile, the gunman fired several more shots toward Israeli forces, causing casualties, according to the probe.

The IDF’s elite Duvdevan unit was then dispatched to the scene to locate the terrorist, during which the commandos also engaged in a gun battle with him. Garfinkel was killed in that clash.

Around five hours after the initial attack, with Mansour being finally located, the IAF helicopter carried out a strike against him, the IDF said. The terrorist was killed in the strike.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi toured the attack scene on Friday evening, the military said. Overnight, the IDF said it operated in the West Bank town of Dayr Ibzi’ to measure the home of Mansour ahead of its potential demolition.

Israel regularly destroys the homes of Palestinians accused of carrying out deadly attacks.

Pro-Hamas demonstration held in capital of Chile
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Hundreds of people in Santiago the Capital of Chile staged on Saturday a demonstration to condemn the Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Only hundreds? Pathetic.
They demanded a ceasefire and the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

Protesters also called for the expulsion of Israel’s ambassador from Chile and cut ties with the Zionist entity.

They raised Palestinian flags and banners condemning the crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinian people.

Protestors further called for an end to double standards and the need to prosecute the enemy for its massacres against the Palestinian people, especially children and women.

They also voiced their support for Yemen’s military operations against the Zionist entity in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea.
Paid by Iran? That’s how they get their protesters back home, after all.

Mohammed Abdulsalam: No amount of aggression will deter Yemen
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Mohammed Abdulsalam, the official spokesperson for Ansarullah and head of the National Delegation, has affirmed that the aggressive Arclight airstrike

Abdulsalam stated on his X account that these airstrikes aim to protect the enemy entity and embolden it to continue its atrocities in Gazoo

He emphasized that no amount of aggression will deter the Yemeni people and their Armed Forces from targeting enemy ships or those heading to occupied ports.

Abdulsalam reiterated that Yemen’s Armed Forces will persist in their operations until the aggression ceases and the siege on Gaza is lifted. He emphasized Yemen’s right to self-defense and its determination to respond to any threats.

He stressed that the Yemeni people will not submit to the aggression and will not give up their right to defend themselves and their land.

Weekly anti-gov’t, hostage protests draw on Purim themes with thousands in attendance

captives to Purim story heroine; 10 arrested after demonstration in Tel Aviv where participants blocked roads, lit bonfires outside minister’s home.

Who needs an external enemy to destroy Israel when there are far left activists eager to wage war from inside the lines.
Thousands gathered in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem for weekly Saturday night protests against the government and for a hostagedeal, with speakers at both types of demonstrations drawing from the themes of the Jewish holiday of Purim, which began on Saturday night.

This week’s rallies took place as talks between Israel and Hamas
...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
for a temporary truce and hostage release were kicked into gear in Doha with speakers at both protests urging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to close a deal as soon as possible.

At the Jerusalem hostage protest near the Prime Minister’s Residence, Hostages and Missing Families Forum organizer Tom Barkai said, "No holiday will ever be a real holiday without the return of all the hostages."

RELEASING ’HUMAN SCUM’ IN EXCHANGE FOR THE HOSTAGES
The Tel Aviv anti-government protest took place outside the Kirya military where demonstrators called for early elections.

Many attendees wore shirts calling for the immediate dismissal of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the release of hostages, as well as shirts identified with various protest groups from the anti-judicial overhaul demonstrations that occurred weekly prior to October 7.
As has been observed before, they're the same people, just pivoting to a new excuse in the hope that more will be swayed to support them this time — Victory 2015 was sponsored and trained by Barack Obama’s State Department in concert with specialists from the Democratic Party.
Ami Dror, a high-tech entrepreneur and one of the leaders of the "Elections Now" movement, lauded the protesters before him as "heroes who went to war with a government of cowards."

CLASHES WITH POLICE
In the wake of the festivities between police and protesters at last week’s demonstrations, cops in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem intensified their crowd control measures in hopes of preventing ralliers from blocking traffic.

Participants from neighboring hostage and anti-government protests in Tel Aviv blocked off the northern section of Begin Street after their respective demonstrations finished, lighting bonfires in the middle of the road.

Calls against the government were echoed across the protesting crowds as the bonfires were set up. Attendees pleaded for the US to pressure the Netanyahu government to pursue a hostage deal, crying out in English "SOS USA" and "Help, help, we need your help."
Can’t get the Israeli public to follow your lead, so you demand outside intervention? How anti-democratic of you.
When Fire and Rescue Services arrived at the demonstration, protesters pulled on the hoses to prevent them from extinguishing the bonfires, while the police attempted to forcibly disperse them.

Despite the police barricades installed along Ayalon Highway, a group of demonstrators made a break for the major road and succeeded only briefly in lighting a few bonfires before being dispersed.

Protesters made a couple more attempts to block the Ayalon before returning to Sapir Street and blocking it, lighting a bonfire along the way. The commanding police officer then declared the protest illegal and called on its participants to return south and for cops to use force to remove them from the street.

A group split off and made its way to MK Gideon Sa’ar’s apartment block, where they called on the politician to ensure that far-right ministers Itamar Ben Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich do not gain entry into the war cabinet.

The protesters also rallied outside the home of Minister Yitzhak Wasserlauf, from Ben Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit party, calling for the release of the hostages and lighting a bonfire before being dispersed by the police.

Tel Aviv police said they arrested ten protesters over the course of the evening.

After the protests in Jerusalem, a group of roughly a dozen people attempted to block the road outside Netanyahu’s official residence. The group included Mai Alvini-Peri, the grandson of Hamas-held hostage Haim Peri.

Although last Saturday night, attempts to block the road descended into festivities between police and protesters, the civil disobedience this week quickly fizzled out with only a few willing to partake in stifling traffic.

Sitting in the middle of the street, protesters chanted through megaphones that there is no routine without a return of the hostages and demanded their release.

Police ordered the demonstrators to return to the sidewalks, and then dispersed them without much resistance within a couple of minutes.

DR Congo's conflict-driven hunger crisis worsens as violence in east surges
[AFRICANEWS] The Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
's conflict-driven hunger crisis is worsening as violence in the eastern province’s surges, forcing families to flee once again.

More and more people are arriving at overcrowded camps where there is a lack of food, sanitation and shelter.

Just since February, 230,000 people have been displaced to Goma by the M23 conflict bringing the total estimated displaced population to almost a million people around the city - almost double what it was four months ago.

Eastern Congo has been riddled by conflict for decades, linked to more than 120 gangs fighting for land and power and in some cases, protecting their communities.

The government said the violence in the east has plagued the country with recurrent conflict and resulted in a surge of attacks that have spread terror among the communities.

In recent years, the M23 rebel group — the most dominant in the region with alleged links to neighboring Rwanda — has continued to attack villages, forcing many to flee to Goma, the region’s largest city.

M23 has laid siege to several communities with about half of North Kivu province under its control.

. Though the video claims to have been recorded live, it hilariously features an insane number of jump cuts, suggesting it actually took multiple takes throughout the recording process to get Biden's performance on the mark.

But, that aside, the video made it quite clear that Joe Biden is so desperate, that he's trying to rehash long-debunked accusations against Trump in the hopes of trying to turn his faltering campaign around.

"This is the guy who doesn't care about science and reason," Biden claims in the video. "Remember, during the pandemic, Donald Trump

Wyoming Governor Signs Ban on Sex Changes for Minors
Good. Does Wyoming make it a majority of states yet?
[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon signed a bill on Friday that bans doctors from performing "gender transition" and sex change procedures on minors.

Under Senate File 99, any healthcare professional who provides a minor with puberty blockers, hormone therapy, or sex change surgeries will be subject to having their licenses suspended or revoked.

While he signed the bill, the governor did not seem enthusiastic about doing so.

"I signed SF99 because I support the protections this bill includes for children, however it is my belief that the government is straying into the personal affairs of families," Governor Gordon said in a statement about the legislation.

Gordon continued, "Our legislature needs to sort out its intentions with regard to parental rights. While it inserts governmental prerogative in some places, it affirms parental rights in others."

Of course, the American Civil Liberties Union of Wyoming opposes the ban.

"By signing this bill into law, Gov. Gordon has put the government in charge of making vital decisions traditionally reserved for parents in Wyoming," ACLU of Wyoming Executive Director Libby Skarin said in the announcement. "This ban won’t stop Wyomingites from being trans, but it will deny them critical support that helps struggling transgender youth grow up to become thriving transgender adults."

Biden mocks Trump and Cruz in fundraiser rally, calls them 'losers'

Cruz's comments have been known to leave life-threatening wounds at better than forty feet...

Biden, 81, made fun of the 77-year-old Trump's debt and how he is unable to raise money, Daily Mail reported.

Addressing the rally on Wednesday, he shared that his campaign was able to raise $53 million in the month of February, while Trump's campaign reported that they raised $10.9 million in February.

During the Dallas fundraiser, which was the first of two Texan fundraisers, Biden announced that he had collected $2.5million for his re-election campaign.

Talking about candidates, he urged donors to support Colin Allred against Cruz.

He said: "You've got to elect Colin as your next senator, so Ted Cruz joins another loser, Donald Trump."

Furthermore, he mocked the former president in front of a crowd of about 100 people for his "crushing debt."

McCarthy: 'Republicans Lost the Majority' When Gaetz Led My Ouster
[BREITBART] As turmoil continues within the House Republican caucus, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy
...the GOP house majority leader. His primary accomplishment to date has been first to hold on to power against a conservative revolt and then to order an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden’s involvement in his son Hunter’s business deals. At that point he lost his job when he was run over by loose cannon Matt Gaetz. This was what's known in the intelligence profession as evidence something or other...
(R-CA) appeared on Fox News Channel’s "Jesse Watters Primetime" and weighed in on that turmoil and the decisions his successor, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), is facing.

According to the former Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, politician, the beginning of the end for Republicans came when Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) led his ouster last year.

"Kevin what is going on with the spending and what just happened with Johnson?" host Jesse Watters asked.

"I don’t know what they’re doing spending now, but when I became Speaker, I instituted a 72-hour rule that got not just the members the opportunity to read the bill, but America as well," McCarthy replied. "You’d never waive it unless it’s a Continuing Resolution, something you’re already doing so people would know. I think it’s always helpful to allow people to read the bill, allow America to read the bill. And really, this comes down to what’s happening in Congress today. It goes back to when those eight Republicans led by Gaetz partnered with every single Democrat to decide who could be Speaker. That’s when Republicans lost the majority."

"Jesse, remember what we were able to do in a small majority of the first nine months?" he continued. "The strongest, most conservative border security bill, energy independence. Russian Enhanced Interrogation Techniques involve electricity and ear removal
[MAIL] Footage of Russian forces torturing a Moscow terror suspect by hooking his genitals up to an 80v battery as part of their brutal interrogations into Friday's attacks has emerged.

A new video of the slaughter - which saw more than 140 people killed in a concert hall in Krasnogorsk, on the outskirts of Moscow - shows people running and cowering behind tables as the gunmen open fire in the main lobby of the building.

People can be heard screaming as continuous bullets break through glass doors and mow down victims in what was the deadliest attack on Russia in years.

The Russian Investigative Committee detained four suspected terrorists and their barbaric torture techniques have been seen on social media - including one video which shows a Russian agent severing a man's ear off before trying to force him to eat it.

Another photograph shows one of the suspected terrorists, named as Shamsuddin Fariddun, lying on a gym floor with his trousers pulled down and wires evidently attached to his groin area.

He is visibly foaming from the mouth and appears to be clenching his teeth, while a man in military uniform stands with his foot on the leg of the suspect.

Poland demands explanation from Russia after a missile enters its airspace during attack on Ukraine
[ABC] Poland has demanded an explanation from Russia after one of its missiles strayed briefly into Polish airspace during a major missile attack on Ukraine.

KYIV, Ukraine -- Poland demanded an explanation from Russia on Sunday after one of its missiles strayed briefly into Polish airspace during a major missile attack on Ukraine, prompting the NATO member to activate F-16 fighter jets.

It was Russia's third big missile attack on Ukraine in the past four days, and the second to target the capital, Kyiv.

The head of Kyiv's military administration, Serhiy Popko, said Russia used cruise missiles launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers. An air alert in the capital lasted for more than two hours as rockets entered Kyiv in groups from the north.

He said the attacks were launched from the Engels district in the Saratov region of Russia.

According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or damage in the capital, he said.

Armed Forces Operational Command of Poland, a member of NATO, said in a statement that there was a violation of Polish airspace at 4:23 a.m. (0323 GMT) by one of the cruise missiles launched by Russia against towns in western Ukraine.

CA Republican criticizes Gavin Newsom's homeless strategy: 'You can't keep throwing money at the symptoms'
[FoxNews] Newsom-backed Proposition 1 will require California counties to spend a reported $6.4 billion in bonds on mental healthcare.

Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., joined "Fox News Live" to break down his criticism of Gov. Gavin Newsom's and the state's efforts to combat its homeless and mental health crisis.
My Congresscritter
"You can't keep throwing money at the symptoms," Issa argued.

California recently voted to approve a ballot measure, Proposition 1, allowing the state to raise a $6.4 billion bond to build mental healthcare facilities as well as drug and alcohol treatment clinics.

California spent $22 billion in 2021 to help address the state's homeless and mental health crisis. The latest estimate puts the state's homeless population at 181,000.

"That $22 billion that the governor spent, he spent that basically buying hotel rooms to put people in for a night, two nights, 10 nights," Issa said.

Issa argued that the state's focus on short-term solutions, such as temporary hotel accommodations, fails to address the underlying cause of the issue, such as drug and alcohol abuse driven by mental health disorders.

"The reason people are on fentanyl is they have disorders. The people who are on fentanyl, if they didn't have disorders, have them. When we look at what is going on, why most people are homeless, it's actually drug and alcohol abuse. So fixing it requires that they spend the money that they extracted from taxpayers properly, and they haven't done that," Issa said. "You cannot get rid of homelessness simply by giving somebody a hotel room for the night. You've got to cure the drivers of this homelessness."

The California Republican also linked the homeless crisis to organized theft rings, suggesting that "weak" laws under Proposition 47 have facilitated the trade of stolen goods for drugs like fentanyl.

When asked about the "main driver" of the mental health crisis by Fox News anchor Eric Shawn, Issa doubled down on "mental health, including addiction."

"The fact is, it can be treated. We can help many people, but that help is not a hotel room," he added. "That help is real therapy. We're in a state where you can't incarcerate anyone unless they want to be incarcerated, and as soon as they get a little sober, they typically check themselves out and go back and score."

Issa also suggested a more forceful strategy offering individuals facing felony charges the choice between jail time and "real therapy" rather than a temporary shelter.

"It's going to take tough love," he added.

Shawn also asked Issa about calls for a mental health initiative similar to the Marshall Plan.

"You're right about the Marshall Plan, except, remember, this is a Marshall Plan that has to be catered to each individual. You can't treat a group like you would just a group of hungry people feeding them," Issa said. "Each one of these people has to be addressed personally and kept in a real supervised situation until they, in fact, can in fact maintain sobriety on their own."

'American Society of Magical Negroes' filmmaker defends its controversial racial message in new interview
[FoxNews] Director Kobi Libii said the 'magical negro' trope was a 'compelling fantasy' for White people

The filmmaker behind "The American Society of Magical Negroes" defended the film's controversial theme in a recent interview after it bombed at the box office its opening weekend.
Bombed? Do tell?
The satirical film tells the story of a young Black man who is recruited to be part of a magical "society" where Black wizards use their powers to appease White people so that they don't hurt Black people.

The film attracted backlash ahead of its release when a trailer dropped in which a character calls White people "the most dangerous animal on the planet."

In a new interview posted to YouTube on Thursday, director Kobi Libii explained how his own experience as a Black man in America and his frustrations with Hollywood's presentation of Black people inspired him to come up with the initial story.

The film's larger message was to expose the "comforting fantasy" White people live in, believing that Black people enjoy living under "systems of White power" in America, he argued.

"One of the things critics talk about is that the ‘magical negro’ trope is a ‘happy slave’ trope," Libii told JoBlo Celebrity Interviews. "It imagines that Black people love fitting themselves into systems of White power. That we're actually quite happy to do that, right? Which I think for a White majority is a really comforting fantasy."

"It's like, ‘Oh, OK, it’s all OK,' like America didn't do anything bad. 'It's all OK,' right? That fantasy I think is really compelling for White people," he continued.

In the same interview, the film's protagonist, played by actor Justice Smith, revealed he also related to his character's experience having to "make himself small" to make the White people around him "feel comfortable."

"It's a lot of people of color's experience," he said. Smith called exploring that dynamic on screen "cathartic."

"Any piece about race is obviously going to be controversial, it's going to be provocative," he added. "And I like that. I like when people are not afraid to start conversation. I like when people say things plainly and I think that's how we progress," he continued.

Ahead of the movie's premiere last week, Libii directly addressed the criticism he's received from the right and left.

The filmmaker explained to The New York Times that he was more concerned with sending a message about race rather than trying not to offend Black or White audiences.

"To me, part of the political work I’m doing in this film is from the bottom of my heart, not thinking about how a White audience will react to it. But trying to express my particular experience being subjected to systemic racism," he said.

The film did poorly with reviewers, earning just 30% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes as of Friday.

Martha Helene Jone - Lessons on Aging
[QUORA] This week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that life expectancy in the United States rose to 77.5 years in 2022, though it still has not reached pre-pandemic levels. Some people, both in the U.S. and around the world, go on to live well past that — reaching their 110th birthday and beyond. They're called supercentenarians, and their habits can teach us a lot about aging and longevity, experts say.

What has kept the oldest people in the world going, and what can we learn from them? Read on to get their lifestyle secrets — from prioritizing spirituality to eating produce — along with input from health experts on which ones are worth trying for ourselves.

CULTIVATE POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS — AND AVOID TOXIC PEOPLE
Born in San Francisco in 1907, supercentenarian Maria Branyas, who currently lives in Spain, turned 117 earlier this month. Branyas is recognized by Guinness World Records as being the oldest validated living person in the world. She’s also among the oldest people known to have survived COVID-19, which she had in April 2020. When asked what contributes to her longevity, Branyas credited "order, tranquility, good connection with family and friends, contact with nature, emotional stability, no worries, no regrets, lots of positivity and staying away from toxic people."

Dem strategist James Carville unleashed
[MAIL] A leading Democratic strategist has hit out at President Biden's poll numbers saying looking at them was equivalent to 'walking in on your grandma naked.'

James Carville, who rose to prominence for helping Bill Clinton to the White House in 1992, spoke of his overall disapproval of the current state of the Democratic Party.

Speaking to The New York Times, Carville spoke about ratings, how he believes there to be 'too many preachy females' who are turning-off black male voters, while also complaining that 'woke stuff' was killing his party.

Carville described Biden's ratings, which according to polls is at a low of 37.4 percent, as, 'It’s like walking in on your grandma naked. You can’t get the image out of your mind.'

Despite his scathing take, Carville did add, 'I actually like Biden. He's a tenacious guy that's had a real life.

Florida lawmakers unanimously pass bill to combat squatting; giving property owners ‘positive hope'
[News4Jax] This comes after a News4JAX I-TEAM investigation exposing how a loophole in the law allowed people to live rent-free in a home for weeks while the property’s owner, Patti Peeples, wasn’t allowed on the premises.

The bill would close that loophole, and it’s now headed to the governor’s desk.

“It gives me a real feeling of positive hope that we still have the ability to discuss challenges in our society and work with our legislatures in a bipartisan way,” Peeples said.

It’s been a year since Peeples found strangers had moved into her rental property.

They refused to leave, and it was Peeples who was banned from the premises as the case spent weeks moving through civil court. When she first discovered those unwelcome guests living there, they produced a lease, claiming they were victims of a rental scam, again. Court records revealed they made the same claim at a nearby house.

It took months for the owners to evict them, right around the time they moved into Peeples’ house.

After several weeks, the women were evicted, and the house was left with tens of thousands of dollars worth of damage.

“It’s just the wild west,” Peeples said. “They simply move from one place to another.”

Now, state lawmakers have passed a bill to put a stop to it.

The bill allows law enforcement to immediately remove squatters who do not have a lease authorized by the property owner. It also adds criminal penalties, including designating intentionally presenting a fraudulent lease as a misdemeanor and making it a felony to intentionally sell or lease someone else’s property or intentionally cause more than $1,000 in property damage while squatting or trespassing.

The women who made themselves at home at Peeples’ house were never criminally charged.

“I have never felt more unempowered or helpless in my life than on March 1, 2023,” Peeples said.

It was soon after that date when Peeples first shared her story with the I-TEAM. Later, she was invited to share it on national TV and then, in Tallahassee.

Peeples said she is not surprised her story has resonated so widely.

“I’ll tell you why. Because at the crux of this issue is just basic unfairness, you know, if we don’t have the right to inhabit our own property, then what kind of world are we living in?” Peeples said.

The bill allows a person wrongfully evicted to sue to be placed back inside, as well as recover attorneys’ fees and damages.

Critics, including from Florida Rising, which is a group advocating for historically marginalized communities, had previously expressed concerns that the bill could lead to abusive landlords removing lawful tenants.

However, in a statement to the I-TEAM today, a spokesperson said they are now neutral on the bill’s passage because they feel it was satisfactorily amended to protect legitimate tenants from wrongful eviction.

If signed by the governor, the bill will go into effect July 1.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
On both sides of Gaza’s border, the IDF is remaking security from the (under)ground up
Consequences. None of this was seen to be needed on October 6th.
[IsraelTimes] From a buffer zone to attack drones and more troops, the army plans to keep Israel safe by taking a zero-tolerance approach to tunnel building or any other disturbance.

Fewer than two kilometers (1.2 miles) separates the towns of Khuza’a from Kibbutz Nir Oz. The land between the Gazook and Israeli communities is taken up by a patchwork of neat farm fields and a fence that Hamas
...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
commandos from Khuza’a tore through with ease on October 7. The turbans of Hamas’s elite Nukhba force that invaded Nir Oz made the journey from Khuza’a in minutes, equipped with maps and cycle of violences. Hours later, they left behind a demolished kibbutz soaked in the blood of 38 slain victims, taking 77 hostages with them.

To ensure such horrors never occur again, the army, while fighting a war inside Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, is also fundamentally reconceiving how it defends Israel, especially the towns closest to the Paleostinian enclave.

The process will see the military shift away from more passive defensive measures to the adoption of a security doctrine that will see Gazooks pushed away from the border and a beefed-up force along the fence actively engaged in keeping Israeli towns safe by building deterrence, according to a well-placed defense source who briefed The Times of Israel on the development of plans for securing the border with Gaza. The source spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Standing near the barrier separating Khuza’a from Israel on Monday, echoes of gunfire and explosions could be heard from battles taking place in Khan Younis, just a few kilometers to the west.

Nir Oz is hard to miss from the Gazook side of the fence. Even from the town of Abasan, a bit deeper inside Gaza, the kibbutz’s paint factory, Nirlat, is perenially visible.

A walk through the farmland near the fence outside Khuza’a and Abasan can feel misleadingly pastoral, until one notices markers placed by Israel Defense Forces troops to indicate the entrance to a tunnel.

The underground passage is what the IDF terms as an "approach tunnel" — it begins at the first line of houses in Khuza’a and leads to the fence.

The opening of this particular tunnel, just a few dozen paces from the fence, was discovered by chance when smoke began to rise from the ground following an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
in an urban area elsewhere on the tunnel’s route.

Until the war, the IDF turned a blind eye to the construction of tunnels throughout the Strip due to a tacit agreement with Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar designed to de-escalate tensions. Israel estimates that there are hundreds of approach tunnels near the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip, meant to allow terrorist cells to mount a surprise attack on the fence.

On October 7, however, Hamas turbans did not use the tunnels. Instead, they stormed the fence in plain sight, broke through the barrier in multiple locations and dashed toward Israeli towns uninterrupted.

An interrogation of a Hamas prisoner revealed that the plan was to use the tunnel system for a second wave of attackers, though in the end those who broke into Israel later on October 7 also did not need to bother hiding underground.

The tunnels were only used later when Israeli ground forces moved into the Gaza Strip, allowing Nukhba forces to attempt to sneak up on soldiers deep inside the enclave.

The IDF was surprised by the number of tunnels that were discovered, especially in the south of the Gaza Strip. Israeli intelligence knew Hamas had invested significant time and resources in the project, but underestimated its scope.

The army has found that Hamas built its subterranean warren in this area in an organized way, with a feeder tunnel deep inside Gaza connecting passages that stretch toward the border, allowing it to secretly move large numbers of forces toward Israel.

The system was seemingly built out from the remains of Hamas’s attack tunnel network that it used to mount sneak assaults inside Israel during the 2014 war. Though Israel destroyed much of that system, Hamas not only repaired it in the nine intervening years, but expanded it as well.

The IDF has said that a zero-tolerance approach to tunnel digging will be part of its post-war operational standards; any identification of tunnel digging will be immediately attacked on the ground or by air.

The source described the protocol as a "lawnmower working systematically over the next few years to nip any threat in the bud."

BUFFER ZONES
The Sisyphean task of destroying the tunnel network, which has fallen to the IDF’s Combat Engineering Corps, is part of a larger plan to create a buffer zone along the border. Officials are careful to use the term "buffer zone" and not "security zone" lest it harkens back to the southern Leb
...an Iranian satrapy currently ruled by Hassan Nasrallah situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
security zone maintained by the IDF from 1985 to 2000 and regarded internationally as a military occupation.

The decision to create a buffer zone was made early in the war, after the events of October 7 led the military to conclude that an early warning apparatus relying on intelligence and surveillance was insufficient to protect Israeli towns near the Gaza border. Commanders in the field found that it would be necessary to shift away from passive defense to actively meeting each threat with a strong operational response.

Since receiving a green light from the government, the army has been working to clear a one-kilometer-wide (0.6-mile) strip of land running along the border, inside Gaza, for the buffer zone.

Besides destroying dozens of kilometers of tunnels, creating the zone includes clearing away any vegetation, including farm fields, and razing homes or other buildings.

The destruction is evident in Khuza’a, whose eastern edge practically kisses the border. Houses that sat only a few hundred meters (1,000 feet or more) from the fence before the war are now mostly reduced to rubble.

The army is still working on the administrative plan for the buffer zone: how it will look, what capabilities it will include, what the rules will be for opening fire on those who enter, and whether there will be a visible demarcation of where it begins.

The work is being done in conjunction with the military’s legal division, which may one day have to defend the decision to expropriate a chunk of land from the Gaza Strip.

OUTPOSTS, DRONES AND ARMED LOCALS
Along with the buffer inside Gaza, the IDF is planning moves that will fundamentally transform its defense posture on the Israeli side of the fence. In the past, the risk of an invasion from Gaza ranked near the bottom of what the IDF considered to be a probable threat. But now, it is the logical point to underpin a new defense doctrine, which will see a buildup of forces and the development of new operational protocols.

This will include a line of military outposts to be built along the fence and next to communities near the border, promising a massive military presence and immediate response to threats.

On the morning of October 7, there were four IDF battalions stationed along the border with Gaza, comprising a few thousand soldiers. That number will now double, if not more.

The military is also expediting existing plans to move the Gaza Division’s Northern Brigade’s headquarters to a new building closer to its area of operation, rather than being commanded from the same base near Re’im where the Gaza Division and its other brigade is also headquartered. On October 7, turbans managed to pin down the division’s complete command structure by launching a massive assault on the base, disrupting its ability to coordinate an effective response to the multifaceted Hamas onslaught across the south.

Along with manpower, firepower will also be beefed up. Hamas’s explosive drones largely disabled IDF equipment stationed near the fence to surveil the border and to remotely fire at suspects approaching the border. Now, the army is looking to both improve those systems and add a large number of attack drones to the bag of tools at troops’ disposal, giving soldiers stationed on the border the ability to deploy air power before the Air Force can arrive.

Beyond that, the IDF is replanning its surveillance array, adding tools and allowing troops to control various surveillance systems from multiple places at the same time.

One plan already nearing implementation is the creation of a quick response counterterror reserves force made up of residents living near the Gaza border with experience in special forces. The unit is modeled on LOTAR Eilat, a counterterror unit made up of residents of the Red Sea city and others in the area, which has been called upon several times to respond to terror incidents before other forces could arrive.

The unit’s volunteers train once a week and engage in advanced training once a month. Permanent emergency teams within the unit remain in place even when others are called to fight elsewhere, ensuring that civilians are continually protected.

BACK TO 2002
The more apt parallel to how defense in the south will look after the war, however, may be to the West Bank, where the IDF protects settler communities and secures the barrier with Israel while also implementing offensive operations aimed at diffusing any terror threat that may emerge from Paleostinian areas.

The situation in Gaza and on the Israeli side of the border today is not unlike the end of Operation Defensive Shield, a massive military operation in the West Bank launched in 2002 to stem the terror of the second intifada, including large incursions into Paleostinian cities.

Then, as now, Israel struggled with how it could maintain the operation’s gains once fighting ended and troops pulled back. The difference is that Hamas in Gaza is much stronger, and has ground infrastructure that didn’t exist in the West Bank in 2002.

It’s clear that even after the war ends, troops will need to continue operating inside Gaza. Once the buffer zone is established, the army is hoping to build up deterrence by deploying an immediate response to any possible disturbance, keeping things from snowballing out of control. On Tuesday, for instance, forces in Khuza’a fired warning shots multiple times at Paleostinian civilians trying to reach homes in the buffer zone.

October 7 did not begin on that bloody morning. For years, Gazooks chipped away at Israel’s deterrence with seemingly small-scale acts like launching incendiary balloons and noisy border riots.

These provocations escalated into the massacre in which Hamas rampaged through the south murdering some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping 253 others. This time, the army does not plan on giving any inches.

"The principle will be clear," said the defense source. "The rate of destruction of [Hamas’s abilities] and the erosion of its powers will be higher than the rate at which it can build them back up. Only that way can we ensure that what was will be no more."

#1  Before Oct 7 the IDF and other intel had an AI component that worked with intercepted Communications and other electronic signals. It is clear that this needs to be augmented with signals from actual Hamas troop and equipment movements which means lots of UAVs monitoring the buffer area continuously. Probably with some of the UAVs having firepower also.

It would also be nice if 99% of Hamas's soldiers were eliminated (I think about 60-70% is current estimate).

Republicans blast Biden admin's 'Red Flag Operation' as one that will 'violate' Second Amendment rights
But illegals can have weapons.
[FixNews] Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Florida on Saturday where she will tout a Biden administration effort to provide "training and technical assistance" to individuals "responsible for implementing laws designed to keep guns out of the hands of people who pose a threat to themselves or others."
To be fair, it’s not as if she has anything better less useless to do.
The new program drew immediate backlash from some Republicans who called the effort a "massive Red Flag Operation."
...not now that she's czarred the border...
The National Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) Resource Center, according to a Saturday Department of Justice press release, will specifically provide assistance to law enforcement officials, prosecutors, attorneys, judges, clinicians, victim service and social service providers, community organizations and behavioral health professionals.
They're going to provide assistance to law enforcement officials, prosecutors, attorneys, judges, clinicians, victim service and social service providers, community organizations and behavioral health professionals. Law enforcemnt currently "deals with" the problem. Prosecutors (e.g. Alvin Bragg, etc.) undeal with it by not prosecuting or reducing charges. Judges can then take over and reduce (but not increase) the charges. Clinicians can take an obvious nutball, pronounce him not dangerous, and overrule the lot of them and let them out. Victim service and social service providers? Two words: Rita Fisher. Read it and become incensed. Community organizations? They mean community organizers. When VFW, American Legion, or Disbled Vet of America show up on the list let me know. Behavioral health professionals? Thought they were talking about clinicians. Do they make house calls? I mean, do we really, really need more civil servants? More to the point, do we really, really need a towering bureaucracy of appointees to drive them?

Once, long long ago, when dinosaurs ruled the world, I was feeling low and I went to the VA. I got a nice lady psychologist and she sent me to group therapy sessions at the Baltimore VA. Most of my fellow vets in the group were black, since Baldymore is about three quarters black. All of them had drug problems, most had been at least jailed, if not imprisoned. Some were doing okay; age does take the edge off.

The thing is, all of us had had to walk in. The VA does not come out on the street looking for you. There's no Great Case Manager in the Sky to track all the vets in the neighborhood. Maybe you'll be referred from an emergency room, more likely just told to contact them.

So what happened? Not being stoopid in that direction, I saw that the other guys' problems were worse than a few bad dreams and an occasionally testy temper. The nice lady psychologist retired and I was assigned to a Moslem Pak psychologist. Life is tough. Sometimes you just have to move on.

"ERPO laws, which are modeled off domestic violence protection orders, create a civil process allowing law enforcement, family members (in most states), and medical professionals or other groups (in some states) to petition a court to temporarily prohibit someone at risk of harming themselves or others from purchasing and possessing firearms for the duration of the order," DOJ noted.

The bill was submitted to the Senate, which had to vote on the document before midnight, before the bill was signed by US President Joseph Biden. But the vote on the bill did not take place due to Republican objections to some amendments.

Democratic Majority Leader Senator Chuck Schumer of New York clarified that during the debate it was possible to reach agreement on the bill. It is expected that voting on the document will take place in the near future.

Earlier, IA Regnum reported that US President Biden on March 1 signed a temporary bill to extend government funding. The law provides for the extension of funding for some federal departments until March 8, others until March 22.

The US House of Representatives on February 29 approved a bill on short-term funding to avoid a federal government shutdown. The document was supported by 320 members of the lower house of Congress, 99 people voted against. The federal government's current temporary funding limits were set to expire on March 1 and March 8.

The mayor of Astrakhan, Oleg Polumordvinov, also published photographs of people laying flowers at the memorial today on his Telegram channel. “A single place of memory has been determined, where Astrakhan residents bring flowers and memorial candles from the very morning - the Family monument on Swan Lake,” he wrote.

A memorial has also been organized in Krasnodar in memory of the victims, the city administration reported. “Residents of the city come to the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky as a sign of condolences to the families of those killed and injured during the attack on Crocus City Hall. At 10.00 am, representatives of youth organizations laid flowers and children’s toys at the spontaneous memorial. Residents can do this throughout the day,” says a publication on the city hall’s telegram channel.

A memorial also appeared in Elista ; the head of Kalmykia, Batu Khasikov, also called it spontaneous in his Telegram channel. “Concerned citizens bring flowers to a spontaneous memorial in the center of Elista in memory of those who died in yesterday’s terrorist attack in the Moscow region,” he wrote, illustrating the publication with photographs of people laying flowers.

In Rostov-on-Don, a spontaneous memorial was organized at the entrance to Gorky Park, Mayor Alexey Logvinenko said in his Telegram channel. “At the entrance to the M. Gorky Park, a spontaneous memorial was organized in memory of those killed in the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in Moscow. Rostovites of all ages bring flowers, candles and toys to the memorial,” the official wrote.

Residents of Anapa have been bringing flowers, candles and toys to the chapel of the Holy Prophet Hosea “since the morning,” the city administration reported on its Telegram channel. “A memorial has been organized here in memory of the victims of the monstrous terrorist attack that took place in Moscow’s Crocus City Hall the day before,” the publication notes.

A place has also been organized on the central square of Gelendzhik where residents and guests of the resort can bring flowers, as indicated in a message posted today on the telegram channel of the resort city mayor’s office. The publication is illustrated with a photograph in which the word “We Mourn” is laid out with the help of many candles.

In Volgograd, a memorial was also formed near the Eternal Flame on the Square of Fallen Fighters; dozens of citizens come to it with flowers and toys to honor the memory of those killed in the terrorist attack, local publication V1.ru reports today.

“At the spontaneous memorial, identical memorial candles are displayed and children’s soft toys are lying around. The bulk of those who came were deputies of all levels with children and officials. Ordinary citizens were only allowed in from the side of the Central Department Store, but there were only a few of them. People held posters with the words: “We are together.” Volgograd is mourning." Each person holds two red carnations. The governor of the Volgograd region, Andrei Bocharov, also came to the memorial site and laid a bouquet of red roses," the publication writes, noting that "cadets, pensioners, and officials lined up at the Eternal Flame."

The administration of the Volgograd region in its telegram channel focused on Bocharov’s participation in the mourning event. “On March 23, Volgograd residents bring flowers and toys to the memorial on the Alley of Heroes in Volgograd. Governor Andrei Bocharov expressed support for the families of the dead and wounded, together with the townspeople at the foot of the Eternal Flame, he lit candles and laid flowers,” the publication says.

Let us remind you that after the terrorist attack, the authorities of the North Caucasus regions reported on strengthening security measures. In particular, entertainment and public events have been cancelled. Today, Vladimir Putin declared March 24 a day of national mourning in connection with the terrorist attack.

The terrorist attack in Krasnogorsk was one of the largest in 30 years in the Moscow region. From 1999 to the events at Crocus City Hall, there were five terrorist attacks there, in which more than 40 people were killed. The largest number of deaths, 130 people, is attributed to the seizure of the Theater Center on Dubrovka.

Donald Trump says Letitia James has 'big, nasty, ugly mouth'
[GEO.TV] Former president Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
has severely crticised New York Attorney General Letitia James as a court in NY has ordered the Republican candidate to pay a hefty amount in damages following allegations of fraud against banks and insurers.

"Arthur Engoron is a Rogue Judge who was intimidated by the big, nasty, and ugly mouth of Leticia James, considered by many to be the WORST Attorney General in the US," Trump said in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, reported Inquisitr.

"She is a Low IQ individual who campaigned for Governor, using my name, and got TROUNCED."

"She and her PUPPET Engoron, who valued Mar-a-Lago at $18,000,000 when it is worth 50 to 100 times that amount, have destroyed all business prospects for New York State, that is already dying, or dead."

"But have no fear —When I become the 47th President, we will MAKE NEW YORK GREAT AGAIN!"

James has built a reputation for taking down powerful figures. Her recent $355 million fraud win against the ex-president and his sons raises her profile but also fuels accusations of bias.

Regardless of bias claims, she's undeniably achieved major legal victories.
In the first round, maybe. We’ll see if they stand up on appeal, and then if the punishments are ever executed.

Russia detains 11 suspects in Moscow concert hall massacre that killed at least 133

[NYPOST] Russian authorities arrested the four men suspected of carrying out the attack on a suburban Moscow concert hall that killed at least 133 people and believe they were headed to Ukraine, President Vladimir Putin

He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group’s affiliate in Afghanistan grabbed credit for in a statement posted on social media channels linked to the group. Kyiv accused Putin and other Russian politicians of falsely linking Ukraine to the assault in order to stoke fervor in Russia’s war in Ukraine, which recently entered its third year.

A U.S. intelligence official told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named that U.S. agencies had confirmed that IS was responsible for the assault and had previously warned Moscow that an attack could be imminent.

Putin said authorities have detained a total of 11 people in the attack, which also injured scores of concertgoers and left the venue a smoldering ruin. He called it "a bloody, barbaric terrorist act" and said Russian authorities captured the four suspected button men as they were trying to escape to Ukraine through a "window" prepared for them on the Ukrainian side of the border.

Putin also said that additional security measures have been imposed throughout Russia, and he declared Sunday a day of mourning.

The attack, the deadliest in Russia in years, is a major embarrassment to the Russian leader and happened just days after he cemented his grip on the country for another six years in a vote that followed the harshest crackdown on dissent since the Soviet times.

Some commentators on Russian social media questioned how authorities, who have relentlessly suppressed any opposition activities and muzzled independent media, failed to prevent the attack despite the U.S. warnings.
To be fair, a warning that something is going to happen is not exactly actionable. And is it any likelier that Russian authorities would believe an American warning than the Americans believed Russian warning about the Tsarnaev brothers?
The attack came two weeks after the U.S. embassy in Moscow issued a notice urging Americans to avoid crowded places in view of "imminent" plans by bandidos holy warriors to target large Moscow gatherings, including concerts. The warning was repeated by several other Western embassies.

Investigators on Saturday were combing through the charred wreckage of the hall for more victims, and authorities said the corpse count could still rise. Hundreds of people stood in line in Moscow early Saturday to donate blood and plasma, Russia’s health ministry said.

"We faced not just a thoroughly and cynically prepared terror attack, but a well-prepared and organized mass murder of peaceful innocent people," Putin said.

His claim that the attackers tried to flee to Ukraine followed comments by Russian politicians who pointed the finger at Ukraine immediately after the attack. But Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, denied any involvement.

Russian Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft enters orbit
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The manned spacecraft Soyuz MS-25, launched on March 23 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, separated from the third stage of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle and entered orbit.

A crew including the first Belarusian cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya, cosmonaut of the Roscosmos state corporation Oleg Novitsky and NASA astronaut Tracy Dyson went to the International Space Station on the ship. The flight to the ISS will follow a two-day rendezvous scheme; the expected time of docking of the spacecraft with the universal node module of the Russian segment of the ISS is March 25, 18:10 Moscow time.

As Regnum reported, on March 21, the launch of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft, which was supposed to fly to the ISS, was canceled at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. During the broadcast, it became known about the automatic cancellation and return of the launch complex units to their original state. The launch was canceled after a five-minute readiness announcement.

The head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, said that the next launch from Baikonur will take place on March 23. He clarified that the cancellation occurred due to a voltage drop in the chemical current source, which occurred abnormally during pre-launch preparations.

Cosmonautics historian Alexander Zheleznyakov said on March 21 that this is the first time in Russian cosmonautics that a crewed rocket launch has been canceled during the five-minute readiness period before launch. At the same time, he clarified that such incidents have occurred in unmanned astronautics.

Kaylee Gain 'stable,' breathing on her own 2 weeks after vicious caught-on-video beating by classmate
[NYPOST] Missouri teenager Kaylee Gain is breathing on her own two weeks after she was mercilessly beaten, with her head repeatedly pounded on pavement, and left in a coma following a disturbing caught-on-video fight with another girl.

Gain, 16, is in a “stable” condition and has moved out of the ICU, her family wrote on GoFundMe Friday.

It is unclear if she is still in a coma. The Post has reached out to her family for comment.

“We are truly blessed by the outpouring of support and your prayers. It means so much to us!” a family member wrote.

The St. Louis teen was left with life-threatening injuries after the assault by the other student, who is not being named due to her being a minor, on March 8 in Spanish Lakes.

Gain suffered a skull fracture and frontal lobe damage in the caught-on-camera brawl near Hazelwood East High School.

Her classmate repeatedly pounded her head into the ground, which caused life-threatening brain swelling and bleeding.

“The full scope and extent of Kaylee’s injuries and prognosis for recovery cannot be determined until, with God’s grace, she regains consciousness, and the family asks that you continue to keep Kaylee in your thoughts and prayers as she continues to recover,” Gain family lawyer Bryan Kaemmerer said in a statement Monday.

Gain’s 15-year-old classmate was taken into custody and charged with assault. Her family defended the honor roll student, who they claimed had been “harassed and bullied” before the beatdown.
She was also twice the size of Kaylee.
The girl’s aunt told Daily Mail she had been defending herself and begged the juvenile court to show “compassion” for the teen.
Golly. Did Kaylee hit her with a two by six or something?
A Change.org petition also highlighted that the girl spoke four languages, plays the violin, is on the school’s volleyball team and recently began college-level AP classes.
I can't guess her height, but I will guess somebody's looking at a dislocated shoulder if they have to carry her out of a burning building someday.
“Prior to an incident on March 8th where she was seen defending herself from harassment and bullying, she had never been in trouble,” the post read. “Her work as a scholar was tainted by the bullying she had to endure at school.”

Among girls, bullying often enough is verbal rather than physical, Super Hose. So comparative size is not as critical.

Who writes this kind of fantasy drivel? I doubt anyone can demonstrate that the "classmate" actually had any claim on scholarship, literacy or AP classes, unless there is an AP literature course based on reading the McDonalds Menu while twerking .

A genuine prosecutor would charge her as an adult and add a Hate-Crime supplemental charge.

Somalia: SYL Hotel suicide bomber identified by Al-Shabaab
[Garowe] The jacket wallah who detonated explosives at the legendary SYL Hotel has been identified by the al-Shabaab
... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
turbans, a week after the group waged a deadly attack in the Somalia capital, Mogadishu, leaving at least five people including soldiers, dead.

Last week's attack left Mogadishu security chiefs in shock even as they grappled with the hefty losses, the first in as many months within the country. Mogadishu has been relatively secure following surveillance by security teams who were recently deployed.

Al-Shabaab said the bomber, Hassan Mohammed Mohamud, 20, was the man who triggered the attack, leading to a fierce shootout that left his other four co-perpetrators dead. Mohammed comes from Kismayo
...a port city in the southern Lower Juba province of Somalia, at the extreme southern end of the country (always assuming Somalia can be called a country). It is the commercial capital of the autonomous Jubaland region....
, the regional administrative capital of Jubaland.

Mohammed, the snuffies added in a statement, comes from the popular Hawiye clan.
An odd descriptor. Why would a clan be popular?
The attack was waged near the Presidential Palace, the official office and residence of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who has been a key figure in operations against the al-Shabaab.

The attack ensued after al-Shabaab snuffies forcibly entered the hotel, engaging in extended combat within its confines, eyewitnesses said. The attackers would later be repulsed after a 13-hour battle, leaving four other fighters dead.

Dozens of people who were critically injured were rushed to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
for specialized treatment, authorities revealed. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was one of the individuals who saw them off from Aden Adde International Airport.

The Al Qaeda-linked terror outfit did not disclose the identities of the other five attackers. al-Shabaab used both local and imported muscle when waging attacks but recent reports established that Kenyan fighters are being executed for allegedly spying the group on behalf of KDF.
Executed? How very interesting, whether they are or are not sharing information with the wrong — or right — people.

Meghan Markle Announces Netflix Show About How Hard It's Been Dealing With Kate Middleton's Cancer Diagnosis
[Bee] LOS ANGELES — Meghan Markle announced this morning that she would be releasing a new show on Netflix to reveal the terrible difficulties she has faced dealing with Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis.

"I've had to deal with so, so much because of her having cancer. In many ways, it's been way harder on me than on Kate," explained Markle, wiping tears from her eyes. "Kate gets so much sympathy because she's white and has cancer. I feel like I'm just living in her shadow, forgotten. Why does the internet not spend its days thinking of wild conspiracy theories about me, Meghan? Do you know how hard it is to have people thinking she's dead and not me? It's so painful."

The four-episode special, set to air at the halfway mark of Princess Kate's chemotherapy regimen, will do a deep dive into the stark loss of attention Markle has faced. "There are several emotionally devastating scenes we captured," said director Samuel LaFleur. "There is one scene where a friend calls Meghan to ask how Kate is doing, but fails to ask how Meghan is doing. Meghan cries for about an hour and then punches a pillow while screaming 'RACIST'. It's so raw."

At publishing time, Markle had announced another Netflix special entitled "My Recovery", set to air the day Princess Kate finishes chemo.

– n.p. Gorlovka (Nikitovsky district), lane. Torgovy, 4 – a direct hit on a private residential building with subsequent fire.

Dumping of explosives from a UAV at 14:25, st. Babiya, 15 – direct hit on a private residential building with subsequent fire.

Information about the consequences of the artillery attack continues to arrive.

20:59 Massive combined attack of RF Armed Forces.

Yesterday, against the background of multiple attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine and the spectacular attack of the Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station, at least three more effective defeats of enemy military facilities in the Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Kirovograd and Odessa regions remained unattended.

The military airfields of Kanatovo and Starokonstantinov were subjected to missile attacks by the Russian Armed Forces, where, in addition to supply substations, military aircraft and ammunition storage areas were attacked.

Coordinates: 48.5599582, 32.3900536

Thus, according to sources, on the territory of the Kanatovo airfield, a technical workshop in which ADM-160A MALD decoy missiles were temporarily stored was hit - a strong combustion occurred, accompanied by the sounds of secondary detonation (how many missiles were in the workshop and whether the flight equipment was damaged is unknown).

Coordinates: 49.7449496, 27.2699058

At the same time, at the Starokonstantinov airfield, one Su-24 was damaged by shrapnel (subject to restoration/repair) and a transport-loading vehicle was destroyed.

Coordinates: 49.4648646, 24.9517050

In addition, several attacks were recorded in the Ternopil region, in particular, on the territory of the 777th Separate Logistics Regiment (Berezhany, military unit A1461). As a result of the damage, a fire was observed at the facility without signs of secondary detonation, which could not be extinguished for more than 4 hours.

Coordinates: 46.6164345, 31.0517004

In addition, on the evening of March 22, the Yuzhny offshore oil terminal was hit by two missiles. It is known that two tanks with fuels and lubricants were damaged, and residents of nearby settlements observed prolonged burning.

Summarizing all of the above, it becomes obvious that the strikes have become more strategic and organized. At the same time, the choice of goals seems more thoughtful. I would like to hope that this approach to planning and carrying out attacks will continue and become more systematic and frequent.

Battle of Chasov Yar: advance in Krasnoye and the surrounding area.

The Russian Armed Forces were able to make significant progress in the Bakhmut direction, knocking the enemy out of Ivanovo and occupying several strong points.

The first information about the offensive began to appear yesterday, and today the Russian Ministry of Defense announced full control over Ivanovsky, but apparently the cleansing of the settlement is still underway.

To the north, the Russian Armed Forces advanced along the O0506 highway, knocking out the enemy from several forest belts, and, at a minimum, approached the outskirts of the forest overlooking the Kanal microdistrict, also known as the settlement of Novoye.

In addition, on the northern outskirts of Ivanovsky, the enemy was driven out of part of the fortified area on Mount Baba on the eastern edge of the Stupki-Golubovskie-2 nature reserve, but the Russian Armed Forces were either unable or did not go deeper into these plantings.

Fighting continues on the western outskirts of Ivanovo. This part of the settlement is adjacent almost closely to the Stupki tract, in which well-fortified enemy positions are located on a hill, offering views of the western outskirts of the settlement.

To the south, according to some data, there is also an advance by the Russian Armed Forces, where several forest clearings are occupied towards the south-eastern outskirts of the Stupki tract.

In addition, according to some reports, there is progress in the Kleshcheevka area, where the Russian Armed Forces were able to knock out the enemy from several positions in the Alabaster headquarters area.

16:32 The Russian Armed Forces liberated Krasnoye in the DPR and improved the tactical position along the front line in the Donetsk direction -Ministry of Defense.

14:14 Air defense units of Russian paratroopers destroyed three reconnaissance drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kherson direction.

13:43 The crew of the 220mm BM-27 Uragan MLRS of the 1st Army Corps of the Southern Group of Forces launched a missile attack on the rear positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donetsk direction -video.

12:02 Enemy acknowledges further loss of positions in the Tonenkoye area and the advance of the Russian Armed Forces to the northwest and west of the village. Despite all efforts, the enemy cannot stop the advance of the Russian Armed Forces west of Avdievka.

The terror unleashed by the Nazis is a direct consequence of the sharp deterioration of the situation for them along the entire front.

11:18 The Russian army is successfully advancing in the area of Kremennaya, Avdievka and Donetsk -map.

The main conclusions of the American Institute for the Study of War:

On the night of March 21-22, Russian troops launched their largest series of combined drone and missile strikes against Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

Russian forces will continue offensive operations until the spring of 2024, while preparing for an expected offensive in the summer of 2024.

Russian troops are conducting an offensive in the area of ??Kremennaya, Avdievka, Donetsk and the border region of the Donetsk-Zaporozhye region amid ongoing positional battles along the entire line of contact.

10:22 Situation in the Rabotino-Verbovoye section at 10.00

The counterbattery fight on both sides continued throughout the night in the Orekhovsky direction. The barrel artillery of the Russian Armed Forces carried out massive attacks on previously identified concentrations of manpower and field guns of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Since early morning, UAV operators of the Russian Armed Forces have been conducting aerial reconnaissance and identifying the movements of enemy personnel and equipment.

Fighting continues in the Rabotino area. The enemy attempted a counterattack, trying to dislodge our troops from their occupied positions, but to no avail. The Russian army continues to expand its zone of control in the center of the village and is slowly moving forward, pushing through the enemy’s defenses.

Local battles are taking place northeast of Verbovoy; fighters of the Russian Armed Forces are moving forward, inflicting serious damage on the enemy.

There has been a full-scale war for more than two years.” the border areas are saturated with enemy troops, special agents, representatives of special services, security forces. Now there is every sign that we are dealing with precisely such activities of the Russian special services. Further, in all likelihood, there will be whipping up of hysteria, tightening the screws and eliminating even the formal remnants of civil rights and freedoms."

After yesterday's attack, the most difficult situation remains in the Kharkov region. There are still consumer outages in the Khmelnitsky region, and repair work continues. Hourly shutdown schedules apply in the Odessa region.

Another ten enemy attacks were repulsed in the Avdeevsky direction (in the areas of Berdychi, Tonenkoye, Pervomaisky and Nevelsky) and the same number in Orekhovsky (in the areas of Staromayorsky, south of Novodarivka in the Donetsk region and near Rabotino in the Zaporozhye region).

07:28 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) claims that there are currently no signs of preparations for a Russian operation to encircle Kharkov. According to analysts, such an operation would be “too ambitious” a project. In particular, to encircle Kharkov, the Russians will require long movements across open terrain, which they have not carried out since the beginning of a full-scale invasion.

Currently, Russian troops are conducting an offensive operation along the Kupyansk-Svatovo-Kremennaya line, the goal of which is access to the Oskol River in the Kharkov region. However, even if the Russians achieve their goal, the prospects for the advance of Russian troops into the Kharkov region from the eastern bank of the Oskol River are very doubtful, experts say.

03:51 At the next NATO summit in Washington, the path to Ukraine’s future membership in the Alliance will be laid, US Undersecretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Celeste Wallander said at the Kiev Security Forum: “Although it is too early to talk about this, you should know that during the Washington "At the summit, steps will be taken that will form a reliable bridge to Ukraine's future membership in NATO."

As a result of the attack, two workshops of the plant were allegedly damaged. Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced “a blow to one of the enterprises.” Public accounts write that the plant produces metal used for military equipment.

Public accounts also report a fire at an oil refinery near the city of Novokuibyshevsk, Samara Region. According to preliminary data, the plant was attacked by a drone.

01:52 The New York Times writes, citing American officials, that the Islamic State group is behind the terrorist attack in Moscow. The information is also confirmed by CBS News with reference to an American official. According to media sources, the same group that carried out a terrorist attack in Iran during the anniversary of the death of General Qassem Soleimani in January 2024 may be behind the attack.

'Crocus'. Morning
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

See also here and here.
[ColonelCassad] According to the situation in Crocus on the morning of March 23.

1. The fire has almost been extinguished. Firefighters say they will finish the fire by approximately 10 a.m. The fire was very difficult. The building received heavy damage.

2. Regarding casualties - so far they are talking about 82 dead (3 of them children) + more than 100 wounded (more than 60 seriously). The numbers are sure to rise as the day progresses.

3. The terrorists escaped from Crocus. There is still very little information about the operation to capture them. There are reports of arrests (and not only in Moscow), but here we still have to wait for the specialists to work.

4. More than 50 countries expressed condolences to Russia and condemned the terrorist attack in Crocus. The terrorist attack was also condemned by the Secretary General and the UN Security Council. Some of the condolences from the West are completely hypocritical.

5. The United States and Ukraine tried to make excuses at night that they had nothing to do with the terrorist attack and that it was ISIS. But given the fact that ISIS takes responsibility for everything and the fact that ISIS is directly connected to the United States, the ears of Washington and its warnings about the threat of a terrorist attack at a concert stick out very visibly.

6. All victims will be provided with medical and material assistance. The appropriate resources have already been allocated. The best medical personnel have been sent to treat the wounded.

7. Putin was informed about what was happening throughout the night. A speech is expected today in connection with the terrorist attack. After the terrorist attack, the authorities will have almost complete carte blanche for any tough actions.

More from Andrey Chervonets
Terrorists detained

Four of the six terrorists who participated in the attack at Crocus City Hall were detained alive in the Bryansk region while trying to escape to Ukraine (they did not reach less than 100 km).

All detainees are natives of Tajikistan. Tajik passports were also found on them.

The detained terrorists planned to cross the border of the Russian Federation with Ukraine in the Bryansk region, they had an approximate square in the forest through which they wanted to escape, they were supposed to be met there. Apparently someone from the pack of terrorist Budanov.

To date, 115 deaths are known. The organizer of the terrorist attack is clear. Now, if the descendants of the ancient Sumerians fled to the border of Tajikistan, then Tajikistan could be blamed!

But the terrorists fled to their owners... Towards Ukroreich.

Let me just remind you that Israel tore their neighbors to hell for this. And his team calmly played the match with Iceland for qualifying for Euro 2024 and will participate in the Olympics.

I am not for acting with the same fascist methods as Israel. In general, I’m talking about the duplicity of Western politicians.

What’s interesting here is the West’s attempts to extricate Ukraine from blame.

The very first version of the involvement of ISIS (a banned terrorist organization) was suggested by Hristo Grozev (recognized as a foreign agent). Grozev is in fact a CIA employee, their mouthpiece, everyone understands this. He was not even allowed into the UK for the BAFTA awards, literally with the wording “threat to national security” (and in fact, there is no reason for competing intelligence services to work and recruit here on our soil).

Grozev’s commentary came out on Dozhd (a foreign media outlet) at 21:53, that is, literally when we were still in shock and watched live as the roof of Crocus City Hall was collapsing.

At 00:24, the same Dozhd TV channel allegedly uploaded a screenshot of an official statement from ISIS that the banned terrorist organization was taking responsibility for the terrorist attack. After a fairly quick refutation, the news is not deleted, they only update that it is fake, so that the reposts will continue to circulate (any leading Telegram channel knows that reposts after making changes to the original post remain unchanged).

I will not make any versions about this heinous crime; I am a political analyst, not an intelligence officer. But who and how creates and distributes versions before the official ones appear must be remembered and taken into account.

Official representative Kirby also gave a very interesting explanation of why they warned about the terrorist attack (but at the same time provided the role of information to the Russian side): “We warned our citizens just like that. Well, that's what we decided. And it happened by chance that this coincided with the tragedy.”

"The airstrikes targeted Shuaa, where many Babanusa residents fled due to the recent fighting," reported al-Sadiq Othman, a member of the Babanusa emergency room, to Sudan Tribune. "Three people, including two children, were killed and four others injured."

"Following close and constant monitoring and a preliminary investigation, it turned out that a group of intruders in our camp was involved in the liquidation operation," the factions said in a statement.

"They have been handed over to the relevant security authorities in the Lebanese state," the factions added.

Hamas has identified Mustafa as a senior member of its armed wing in Lebanon, saying he lived at the Paleostinian refugee camp of Rashidiyeh near Tyre.

The Israeli army confirmed in a statement that it carried out a strike in the Tyre area. It described Mustafa as a "significant operative" behind attacks on Israeli and Jewish targets around the world.

Al-Jadeed TV meanwhile identified two of those arrested as 18-year-olds who sold napkins at the camp, noting that they are Lebanese citizens of bedouin origin.

"They had placed a tracking device in a car belonging to a relative of the martyr Mustafa," al-Jadeed said, adding that the two have confessed to the charges.

"The two suspects confessed that their handler is called Hassan F., the attendant of a mosque in the al-Maashouq area between Tyre and al-Burj al-Shamali," the TV network added, quoting Paleostinian security sources.

"The three people were handed over to the Lebanese Army’s intelligence branch in the south, which arrested other individuals linked to the mosque attendant, who also has Lebanese citizenship," al-Jadeed said.

Indiana student receives patriotic surprise after high school bans Old Glory display: 'Hold your ground'
[FoxNews] 17-year-old Indiana high schooler Cameron Blasek said you must 'stand for what you believe in'

High school student Cameron Blasek received a patriotic paintjob free of charge for his pickup truck after East Central High School administrators in St. Leon, Indiana attempted to stop him from displaying the American flag earlier this month.

Blasek, 17, proudly displayed an American flag on his truck for most of his senior year, but Blasek said school administrators told him it broke school rules and needed to be removed.

"They had told me if you don't remove this flag, you're getting written up for insubordination. And I told them, hey, you know, there's no rules or regulations saying I can't, I read the [rules] off their handbook."

Soon afterward, other students arrived at school flying American flags on their cars, and the news story went viral.

GCI Digital, a business based out of nearby Cincinnati, heard about Cameron Blasek's patriotic story and decided to spring into action.

The business gifted a brand-new custom American flag wrap to the high school senior, free of charge.
The backdown:
Principal Tom Black told Fox News Digital that the rule "was never about the U.S. flag and it was regarding all flags on vehicles."

After consultation with the Superintendent, however, Black determined the school could allow the U.S. flag while still restricting other flags.

Somali military plans counterattack after losing ground to Al-Shabaab
[ShabelleMedia] A military official in central Somalia announced they are planning to launch a counter-offensive days after losing several areas to the al-Shabaab

He made the warning to avoid collateral damage as the impending assault could involve air bombardments by SNA’s foreign allies, including the American military, per sources.

The retreat of government forces from the hard-gained strategic locations in the Mudug region raises concerns about the resurgence of al-Shabaab and the stability of the area.

The Somali government’s offensive against al-Shabaab, initiated in August 2022, aimed at reclaiming control from the krazed killers, particularly in central regions such as Hirshabelle and Galmudug.

Initially, the operation saw significant territorial gains, supported by clan militias and international partners. However,

the momentum has waned due to logistical challenges, the difficulty of holding captured territories, and al-Shabaab’s persistent resilience.

Somali pirates return, adding to global shipping crisis
[ShabelleMedia] As a speed boat carrying more than a dozen Somali pirates bore down on their position in the western Indian Ocean, the crew of a Bangladeshi-owned bulk carrier sent out a distress signal and called an emergency hotline.

No one reached them in time. The pirates clambered aboard the Abdullah, firing warning shots and taking the captain and second officer hostage, Chief Officer Atiq Ullah Khan said in an audio message to the ship’s owners.

"By the grace of Allah no one has been harmed so far," Khan said in the message, recorded before the pirates took the crew’s phones. The company shared the recording with Rooters.

A week later, the Abdullah is anchored off the coast of Somalia, the latest victim of a resurgence of piracy that international navies thought they had brought under control.

The raids are piling risks and costs onto shipping companies also contending with repeated drone and missile strikes by Yemen

Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. militia in the Red Sea and other nearby waters.

More than 20 attempted hijackings since November have driven up prices for armed security guards and insurance coverage and raised the spectre of possible ransom payments, according to five industry representatives.

Two Somali gang members told Rooters they were taking advantage of the distraction provided by Houthi strikes several hundred nautical miles to the north to get back into piracy after lying dormant for nearly a decade.

"They took this chance because the international naval forces that operate off the coast of Somalia reduced their operations," said a pirate financier who goes by the alias Ismail Isse and said he helped fund the hijacking of another bulk carrier in December.

He spoke to Rooters by phone from Hul Anod, a coastal area in Somalia’s semi-autonomous northeastern region of Puntland

#1  Apparently some areas of Somalia need to be depopulated. Again.

#2  I watched an interview with Eric Prince who described how they stopped the piracy the first time. The pirate bases are very isolated geographically. He coordinated a paramilitary campaign that cut their logistics. The geography remains the same.

Of course, if media wasn't allowed to report on it and the Pentagone wasn't choc-a-bloc with idiots who want to bask in media attention any chance they get, it could be done thoroughly and quietly.

Kenya is winning war against al Shabaab, shows global index
[ShabelleMedia] Kenya’s counter-terrorism efforts against al-Shabaab
... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them...
are paying off and have earned global recognition.

Terrorism deaths attributed to the Somalia-based group fell from 800 in 2022 to 499 in 2023, a decline of almost 38 per cent.

Of these deaths, 86 per cent occurred inside Somalia and the remaining 14 per cent in Kenya.

Al-Shabaab was responsible for 70 deaths in Kenya in 2023, the most since 2019.

This is according to the Global Terrorism Index 2024, which shows the impact of terrorism in Kenya decreased from high in 2022 to medium in 2023.

The report authored by the Sidney-based Institute for Economics and Peace says Kenya scored 5.616 in the index. The country with the highest score, meaning grappling with biggest impact of terrorism in the world, is Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president used to be Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and was chased out in 2014. Now it's the usual army officer type guy, Captain Ibrahim Traore, running things, who's just doing a bang-up job unless he's already been deposed...
that scored 8.571.

Malaysia has the least impact in the index at 0.192.

State security agencies are bullish in the war against al-Shabaab, saying the country attained the improvement in global rating due to ongoing multiagency collaboration in counter-terrorism.

Multiagency security operations against al-Shabaab are ongoing in Lamu and Northeastern region, which have led to killing of top terrorists, destruction of makeshift camps and successful arrest and/or prosecution of terrorists.

The report appreciates Kenya’s efforts in fighting al-Shabaab inside the country as well as offering a helping hand to Somalia, where the terrorist group is domiciled.

The government says it is committed to fighting terrorism to reduce its impact to guarantee security and prosperity.

This will be achieved by sustained modernisation of security establishment and equipment to ensure accurate intelligence gathering and processing, bearing in mind the need for precise operations that not only take out the malign actors but also deter future incidents.

"There are also deliberate efforts by the government to invest in soft power approach to empower communities to work with security agencies especially through sharing information on terrorism activities for action," the government said through the Office of the President.

"Additionally, the government is using development approach to deal with violent mostly peaceful extremism and terrorism by investing in infrastructure and other economic projects like LAPSSET to stimulate the economy across the country."

Citizens and other stakeholders are encouraged to support the government in fighting terrorism.

However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
the report says al-Shabaab still poses a major threat to the country as the Al Qaeda affiliate retained its nine-year consecutive record of killing more than 400 people annually by its terror activities.

The group was rated by the index as the fourth deadliest globally, killing 499 people from 227 attacks in 2023.

In Kenya, the report says, terrorism deaths attributed to al-Shabaab increased from 58 to 70 in 2023.

Most of the deaths occurred in Lamu close to the Somali border, which recorded 26 deaths in 2023, ten more than the year prior.

"This was followed by Garissa and Mandera counties, which collectively recorded 37 deaths," the index report says.

The deadliest al-Shabaab attacks in Kenya last year involved roadside kaboomings, one targeting soldiers in Lamu and the other targeting police in Garissa.

Ten people were killed in each attack and al-Shabaab grabbed credit.

However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
the efforts by the Kenyan government are shown to have blunted the edge of the group as now most of its carnage is inside Somalia.

Also, although the bandidos snuffies killed 499 people in 2023, the figures show a decline, proving that the force against it could be working.

The report says that part of the problem in Kenya’s strategy is the failure to manage the spill over of its operation in Somalia against the group, making them cross over and commission attacks.

It says "the surge of al-Shabaab Lions of Islam crossing into Kenya [is] compounded by a lack of law enforcement personnel along the border."

Also, the "changes to Kenya’s security leadership have exacerbated the situation, leading to a security gap that Lions of Islam are exploiting to conduct attacks."

Why Al-Shabaab attacks increased in Kenya

[Garowe] For the first time since 2019, al-Shabaab
... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
attacks increased in Kenya in 2023, leading to a serious security overhaul under the leadership of President William Ruto and Prof. Kithure Kindiki, the minister for interior and national administration.

A report dubbed 2024 Terrorism Global Index, which was published by the Institute for Economics and Peace, attributes the surge in the attacks to changes of security chiefs within the terror-prone areas. Top security organs were reorganized.

The al-Shabaab, the report says, took advantage of changes in the security chain of command. The far-reaching changes were effected in 2023, when many changes were authorized, including bringing Noordin Haji as the Director of the National Intelligence Service (NIS).

Major changes were also made to the country's regional security teams with several deputy county commissioners being reshuffled in June 2023. The changes triggered al-Shabaab attacks, including by changing the strategy.

"Al-Shabaab was responsible for 70 deaths in Kenya in 2023, the most since 2019. Government-led counterterrorism operations in Somalia have led to a surge of al-Shabaab murderous Moslems crossing into Kenya, compounded by a lack of law enforcement personnel along the border.

"Changes to Kenya's security leadership have exacerbated the situation, leading to a security gap that murderous Moslems are exploiting to conduct attacks," read the report in part.

On the other hand, it was highlighted that most of the terror attacks were being witnessed in areas near the Kenya-Somalia border. The placement of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) on various roads was also noted to be one of the strategies that the gunnies employed during the attacks.

"In Kenya, terrorism deaths attributed to al-Shabaab increased from 58 to 70 deaths in 2023. Most al-Shabaab deaths in Kenya
in 2023 occurred in the Lamu district close to the Somali border which recorded 26 deaths in 2023, ten more than the year prior. This was followed by Garissa and Mandera counties, which collectively recorded 37 deaths.

"Both of the deadliest al-Shabaab attacks in Kenya in 2023 involved roadside kaboomings, one targeting soldiers in Lamu and the other targeting police in Garissa. Ten people were killed in each attack. al-Shabaab grabbed credit for both attacks," read the report in part.

But in recent weeks, the terror incidents have diminished, following increased surveillance and sharing of intelligence by locals. Locals have played an important role in fighting the murderous Moslems following collaboration by security agencies after a series of sensitization meetings.

#1  A load of turd polishing woke-gibberish by meaningless organizations designed to give a bright, optimistic story to a tired, meaningless internecine war in need of positive publicity. But the real story is the "strategy" involved:

"This will be achieved by sustained modernisation of security establishment and equipment to ensure accurate intelligence gathering and processing, ...

"There are also deliberate efforts by the government to invest in soft power approach to empower communities to work with security agencies especially through sharing information on terrorism activities for action,"

Translation, we need more American money!
