Workers are unhappy to be back in the office, and now they're getting ready to quit

#1  Did we ever have a ruling that destruction of work ethic counted as casualties of government Covid protocols?

I think it can be put in the monetary damage ledger for sure. Whether that can count against mental and physical health damage (stress, dependencies)?
Posted by: swksvolFF || 04/21/2022 12:31 Comments || Top||

#2  The work ethic is unrelated. Some folks get more done working at home than they do driving in traffic to work in a cubicle.

Lots of jobs are advertising working remote and I suspect it is a growing trend for certain sectors of the job market.
Posted by: ruprecht || 04/21/2022 12:44 Comments || Top||

#3  Bad time for anyone invested in business properties, but then maybe they can be rezoned into housing or something.
Posted by: ruprecht || 04/21/2022 12:46 Comments || Top||

#4  Maybe they're just considering job offers from employers who will let them work from home.
Posted by: Abu Uluque || 04/21/2022 13:16 Comments || Top||

#5  but then maybe they can be rezoned into housing or something.

My old work office was smack in the middle of Seattle - a few blocks from Muscatel Meadows. No thanks. I haven't been to the office in 2 years except to pick up my stuff.
Posted by: CrazyFool || 04/21/2022 14:29 Comments || Top||

#6  My old job wanted us back in the office 5 days a week after only being there 2 days before COVID and I told them to go fuck themselves.

I jumped for a 100% remote job that paid more and had better benefits. I definitely get more done remotely than at the office where every random cocksplash stops by my desk with stupid questions.
Posted by: DarthVader || 04/21/2022 15:04 Comments || Top||

#7  That's good. I just watched work from home schooling and it was absolute shit. They don't have the work ethic tooled in already, and think that hard work is sitting there phoning screening it in.

A micro cosmos of undeveloped personalities who think hard work is screen timing and forwarding items which sound high thinking engagement would be the professional media class. Our high school and college age kids just had two years of lessons that showing up isn't really 90% of it.

Interfaith marriage row: Kerala HC disposes habeas moved by girls father alleging Love Jihad
[oneIndia] The Kerala High Court on Tuesday declined to interfere with the decision of a Christian woman to marry a Moslem DYFI
...The Democratic Youth Federation of India, the youth arm of the CPI(M)...
leader, a decision which stirred up a political storm in the state after her relatives alleged "love jihad", as she categorically told the court that she has not been illegally detained and she was not interested in speaking to her family at present.

A bench of Justices V G Arun and C S Sudha after interacting with the woman, Jyotsna Mary Joseph, said, "She has categorically stated she has decided to marry Shejin (DYFI leader) out of her own free will and not under any compulsion.

She has also stated that as of now she was not interested in interacting with her parents or family and will do so at a later stage," the court noted in its order.

It also told the woman's family that she has said she intended to visit them after her marriage, for which an application under the Special Marriage Act has been moved and is pending consideration, and not before that.

The bench told the family that while it understands their concerns, their daughter was a 26-year-old woman, who was a nurse in Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Fifteen of the nineteen WTC hijackers were Saudis, and most major jihadi commanders were Saudis, to include Osama bin Laden. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
, and capable of making her own decisions.

"She has taken a decision and she is not deviating from it. It is her will and pleasure. She is not willing to speak to her parents now, so how can we compel her to do so," it said.

The woman's father, Joseph, had moved a habeas corpus plea alleging that his daughter had been illegally detained and seeking directions to the police to produce her before him.

He had also told news channels that since the day his daughter left her home, she has not spoken to any of them and therefore, he believed that she was being restrained against her will by the DYFI leader.

Joseph had also said that he lacked faith in the Kerala Police to look into the matter and wanted an agency from outside the state, like the CBI or NIA, to investigate what had happened.

The interfaith relationship stirred up a political storm after the woman's relatives alleged "love jihad", with a senior Left party leader supporting the charge, only to retract his statement later.

The CPI(M),
...the Communist Party of India (Marxist) is the largest communist party in India. It’s part of ruling alliances in Kerala and in Tamilnadu, and was actually elected in the legislatiures of 9 states...
thereafter, made it clear that there was nothing unnatural in interfaith marriages and the campaign of 'love jihad' was a creation of RSS and Sangh Parivar.

'Love jihad' is a term used by right-wing outfits to claim that Moslem men lure women from other faiths to convert them into Islam.

The couple had denied the allegations.
No, no! Certainly not!
of her family.

The West Is As Poorly Prepared to Help Taiwan As It Was for Ukraine
[RealClearDefense via Bongino] Without better preparation for war against a threatened Chinese invasion, Taiwan will suffer far worse consequences than Ukraine because of the constraining effects of its island geography. There are five immediate lessons from the first month of the Russian-Ukraine conflict that war planners in Taipei and Washington need to address.

Hopefully China will collapse and abused mobs will beg Taiwan to take over.

Who exactly was Biden talking to during his many stays in Delaware?
BLUF:
[American Thinker] But back to what Biden is covering up because he’s clearly covering up something. As I noted, the Post seems to think he’s covering up financial malfeasance and that’s certainly a reasonable guess.

I have a different guess: I think that the secret visitors making their way to Biden’s Delaware homes are doctors who specialize in dementia. My theory is that they’re closely monitoring Biden’s mental status and are giving him a variety of drugs enabling him to get his act together for specific events, such as statements to the press, speeches, or official events.
Little wonder our VA appointments are being cancelled. Staffing at the Biden's Delaware MASH may have become a challenge.
The one thing I don’t believe is that the Secret Service doesn’t have any records at all. They’re making notes of everything but, clearly, are under strict orders to keep everything on the down-low and they are following those orders. Wouldn’t it be crazy if those fake DHS agents who were able to gain the confidence of some members of Jill Biden’s Secret Service detail know who was in Delaware and have passed the word on to Iran’s mullahs?
Emphasis added.

The Kalorama Kompound thesis was profoundly, stunningly confirmed by the video of the Magic Kenyan in the White House commanding the room and all the focus of those seeking his attention. Biden was quite literally an appendage unable to even interrupt the glad-handing by the actual President. Obama was basking in the adoration and fealty being paid, and Jojo was the picture of an ignored subordinate, pleading for attention, the puppet ignored. Pathetic and frightening image the world saw and noted.

The Real Reset is Coming... But Not the One the Elites Expect
BLUF:
[American Thinker] Joe Biden's policy reversals are detrimental to the strategic interests of the US. Why? There are reasons to suspect Biden is co-opted and or blackmailed by foreign and domestic enemies. These enemies are the Marxists, Globalists, the Communist Party of China (CCP), the Russian and Ukrainian Oligarchs, and the Iranians. Biden’s policy failures, the outright violations of the Constitution and federal laws, can't just be attributed to the utter stupidity of Biden and his administration but are intentional.

Biden failed to defend the US Southern Border and engaged with Iranian Mullahs to the detriment of our strategic interests and allies in the Middle East. He covered for China as the likely source of the Covid-19 virus. He disbanded the DOJ/FBI unit that roots out CCP espionage agents in academia. Finally, Biden went soft on Russia. He shut down our domestic oil and gas production, killed the Keystone pipeline, greenlighted Russia’s Nord Stream II pipeline, put the skids on Israel’s EastMed gas pipeline, and delayed Russian sanctions and arming Ukraine before the Russian invasion.

America had grown weary of the war in Afghanistan with its mission creep. It was time to leave. Biden and his administration did leave — an example of how not to do it. The disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, abandoning Bagram AFB and leaving it for the Chinese. All the while, Hunter Biden was raking in millions from the Chinese, Russian, and Ukrainian oligarchs for no credible purpose other than gaining access to Joe Biden.

The Biden Administration’s policy reversals backed the US into a shooting war between the Russians and Ukrainians, likely to escalate. So is Joe Biden now toast to "those that foisted him on us"?

Were these policy reversals the result of undue influence on Joe Biden by enemies of the US, both foreign and domestic?

We are at a tipping point with the coming midterms. The lies of the elite et al. are catching up with the common sense of the American people.

"Access to Joe Biden" is simply an intermediate goal. Globalization of our Republic remains the desired outcome.

Our tragic exit from Afghanistan was likely a foreign time-lined action. Notice how rapidly the event along with any follow-up investigation found it's was to the memory hole ?

#12  I have a friend who follows foreign policy issues closely and he partially blames Trump for the Afghanistan fiasco as he set the timeline in his deals with Afghanistan.

Well if he did I doubt he told them to evacuate important bases before the evacuation was complete. Nobody has been put on trial for incompetency, so Biden owns the fiasco.

#13  ruprecht, I seem to recall that President Trump couched the timing as dependent on the Afghan government and the Taliban meeting certain targets at each stage, otherwise it was off.

But also that the Pentagon was dragging its feet — and crowing about fooling him to their friends in the news media — so he eventually put his foot down.

US begins training Ukrainians on howitzers
[Washington Examiner] The United States has begun training more than 50 Ukrainian military service members on the howitzers Washington is providing, according to a senior American defense official.

The training is expected to take approximately a week, the official told reporters on Wednesday, while the Pentagon has been tight-lipped about where it's happening. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said on Monday the training would take place "outside" of Ukraine. The Ukrainian soldiers will then return to Ukraine, where they will train additional soldiers.

Terror down, infrastructure up: How Jammu and Kashmir is changing
[OneIndia] With the abrogation of Article 370, not only have terror cases and incidents of violence reduced in the country, but the investment proposals to create jobs in Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
have also gone up.

In the past one year, there have been investment proposals of Rs 52,155 crore. The investment applications received until April 11 2022 seek to create 2.4 lakh employment opportunities in the Union Territory, a ToI report says.

Nearly 17,970 kanals of land as against a total 29,0322 kanals sought for setting up key units have already been allotted in both the Jammu and Kashmir divisions.

The hotels and restaurants, health and social work sectors have raked in total investments of Rs 5,193 crore in Kashmir alone, the report said. In the case of other sectors such as steel fabrication, recreation, warehousing and cold storage, sports, ecotourism and handicrafts have proposals totalling Rs 5,146 crore approved for Jammu division and Rs 2,157 crore for Kashmir.

At 3,164 kanals, the biggest chunk of land allotted in Kashmir has so far been for the food processing and hotel sector.

Meanwhile on the terror front there has been a considerable decline in the number of cases. In 2021 the number of terror related incidents stood at 229 when compared to the 417 reported in the year 2018 thus indicating a drop of 38 per cent over the past three years.

In the 2019-2021 period, 46 military personnel and 87 civilians bit the dust when compared to the 178 soldiers and 177 civilians who were killed in terror related incidents in the 2014-2019 period.

Good morning! Palestinans inside Al-Aqsa Mosque throw Molotov cocktails
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinian rioters hurling petrol bombs spark small fires at mosque, amid minor festivities.

Minor confrontations were reported at Jerusalem’s Temple Mount and the al-Aqsa Mosque Wednesday morning between Israeli police and Paleostinians, with heightened tensions in the city ahead of a planned right-wing march that has not been approved by authorities. Videos from the mount showed rocks and Molotov cocktails being hurled at cops, including from within al-Aqsa. Several Molotov cocktails sparked small fires in a mosque and a carpet at an entrance. These were put out. The festivities were limited in scope.

"The violence endangers worshipers attempting to enter the mosque, and impeded police efforts to ensure freedom of worship at the site," Israel’s Foreign Ministry said.

‘It’s not taken for granted’: Senior Israeli official lauds PA’s Abbas for condemning terror attacks
Two opposing messages... and that’s just in English.
[IsraelTimes] ’It’s not taken for granted’: Senior Israeli official lauds PA’s Abbas for condemning terror attacks

A senior Israeli diplomatic official lauds Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
’s condemnations of the recent terror attacks in Bnei Brak and Tel Aviv.

The diplomatic official recognizes the impact in Ramallah from the fatalities and injuries on the Paleostinian side as a result of the recent IDF activities in the West Bank in response to the recent terror wave. Seventeen Paleostinians have been rubbed out by IDF forces in the West Bank since the beginning of the month. The majority, but not all, were participating in festivities with Israeli troops.

The official says the PA faces its usual dilemma where it wants to maintain the security coordination with Israel because it allows Ramallah to maintain its stronghold in the West Bank, while also recognizing the unpopular nature of the cooperation among Paleostinians and the need to maintain "national independence."

But while Israel was pleased with Abbas’s response to the recent terror wave, it took note of the remarks made by PA Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh who claimed that the al-Aqsa compound, known by Jews as the Temple Mount, is for Moslems only and accused Israel of trying to divide the site.

"We didn’t respond publicly because it’s not worth it at the moment, but I have a good memory and everything is written down," says the senior Israeli diplomatic official.

Gaza’s anti-aircraft capabilities are neither new nor likely to be effective
[IsraelTimes] Expert says 50-year-old Soviet Strela-2 shoulder-fired system, hyped by Hamas, is easily countered and has limited functionality, with aging missiles and makeshift power solutions.

In the early hours of Tuesday, the Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede, terror group launched several anti-aircraft missiles at Israeli jets conducting Arclight airstrike

IDF strikes Hamas sites in pair of overnight raids in response to Gaza rocket fire
[israelTimes] In largest exchange of fire since 2021 war, IDF says it targeted Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, military post, terror tunnel, underground rocket manufacturing site, compound used by air defense force

Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
terror groups fired two rounds of rockets at southern Israel late Wednesday and early Thursday, with each drawing a separate IDF response in what amounted to the largest exchange of fire since last May’s 11-day war.

The first launch from Gaza came at around 10:30 p.m., with shrapnel from the rocket striking a parked car and a wall near a home in the city of Sderot. Hundreds of ball bearings that were loaded into the rocket were found at the scene.

Less than three hours later, the IDF said it responded with Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s in central Gaza targeting a military post as well as a tunnel complex "containing raw chemicals used for the manufacturing of rocket engines." The IDF claimed its strike marked a significant blow to the rocket production process in Gaza.

For the second time this week, the IDF said that Hamas targeted its jets with anti-aircraft missiles during the raid.

Shortly after 2:00 a.m., Gaza murderous Moslems launched a second salvo of rockets — this time consisting of more than one projectile.

The Iron Dome missile defense system managed to intercept all four rockets, according to the army.

The salvo was followed by additional Red Alert sirens in Gaza border towns, which the IDF later said were triggered by gunfire — consistent with earlier Paleostinian media reports on button men in the Strip shooting at Israeli aircrafts.

The army said it responded to the rocket salvo as well as the earlier anti-aircraft missile fire by striking a compound used by Hamas’s air defense force.

No Israelis were directly injured by the rocket fire, but two people were lightly maimed in falls that took place while running to bomb shelters. Both were evacuated to nearby hospitals for further treatment, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service.

No Gaza group immediately took responsibility for either of the night’s launches, as had been the case after the week’s first rocket launch on Monday evening. However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
several media reports citing Israeli security officials pegged Hamas-rival Paleostinian Islamic Jihad

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
as responsible for the Monday rocket fire.

Regardless, the IDF responded to the week’s first rocket launch with an air raid targeting a number of Hamas military sites in Gaza, including one used by Hamas to manufacture weapons.

The army said in its early Thursday statement that it holds Hamas responsible for what takes place in the Gaza Strip, sticking to its long-held justification for targeting posts belonging to the enclave-ruling group in response to rocket fire, regardless of whether its fighters were behind the launches or not.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasim said early Thursday that "the bombing of Gaza will increase the persistence of our people and its resistance to continue the struggle and escalate support and aid for our people in Jerusalem."

This week’s rocket attacks ended an almost four-month period of quiet on the Gaza border. Wednesday’s rocket fire came at the tail-end of a tension-filled day in Jerusalem, where Israeli nationalists were prevented by police from marching through the Old City’s Damascus Gate, a popular gathering point for Paleostinians in East Jerusalem. Hamas had threatened to attack if the march went ahead.

Recent days have seen violent mostly peaceful festivities between Paleostinian rioters and police on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, leading to the injury of dozens of Paleostinians and several coppers.

Hamas and other Gaza-based terror groups have repeatedly invoked the flashpoint holy site as a red line. Police actions to quell riots there last year were among the triggers of an 11-day war in Gaza last May.

IDF says failed Gaza rocket launch triggered 5:30 a.m. Red Alert siren

[IsraelTimes] The IDF says a rocket launch from Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
that fell inside the enclave is what triggered Red Alert sirens in an open area near an Israeli town bordering the Strip.

Netflix Stocks Plunge 25% After Streaming Service Loses 200k Customers
[News9] Netflix suffered its first subscriber loss in more than a decade, causing its shares to plunge 25% in extended trading amid concerns that the pioneering streaming service may have already seen its best days.

The company's customer base fell by 200,000 subscribers during the January-March period, according to its quarterly earnings report released Tuesday.

It's the first time that Netflix's subscribers have fallen since the streaming service became available throughout most of the world outside of China six years ago. The drop this year stemmed in part from Netflix's decision to withdraw from Russia to protest the war against Ukraine, resulting in a loss of 700,000 subscribers.

Even so, Netflix acknowledged its problems are deep-rooted by projecting a loss of another 2 million subscribers during the April-June period.

And I'm going to go there. Squid Games was not that great and didn't leave me wanting a Squid Games universe. Don't get me wrong, some moments especially towards the beginning were fantastic The timing and pacing got botched and did character building which paid off in the plot somewhat towards the end, but never really cared about most players or even really the infiltration plot. In short, and just for me, went from Thriller to Soap Opera, and never made its way back to Thriller.

Stacey Abrams is challenging voter citizenship checks, but her expert witness just got exposed
[JustTheNews] In brutal federal cross examination, Fair Fight Action witness admits she called to "overthrow" Donald Trump, and claimed GOP wanted "internment camps."

With another gubernatorial campaign ahead of her, liberal activist Stacey Abrams saw her latest legal effort to strike down Georgia's "exact match" ID and citizenship checks for voters hit a major pothole when one of her group's expert witnesses got blistered in cross-examination in federal court.

Adrienne Jones, a 22-year political science professor at Morehouse College in Atlanta, was called last Friday by Abrams' Fair Fight Action Inc. group as an expert witness in the ongoing civil trial against Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and other state officials defending their voter integrity rules.

Military intelligence agencies in East Africa unite against terrorism
[Garowe] The fight against terrorism in East Africa will take a new shape after various military intelligence agencies agreed to sign a cooperation pact that will see them work effectively together to contain violent mostly peaceful extremism within the region.

Over the weekend, military intelligence teams from across East Africa gathered in Æthiopia's capital Addis Ababa, where they discussed effective ways of fighting forces of Evil who have left thousands of people dead.

Military intelligence in Kenya raised issues about their Somali counterparts, accusing them of trading information with Al-Shabaab. The National Intelligence Security Agency [NISA] denied the allegations.
Djibouti, South Sudan, Somalia, Tanzania, Æthiopia, and Uganda sent representatives to the forum in which Kenya was curiously not represented.
Very curious, indeed.
Kenya has actively been fighting terrorism both within her territory and across the border.

During the meeting, participants called for vigilance and cooperation among the countries in order to defeat the Death Eaters. Kenya, Somalia, and Uganda are worst affected by terror groups, which often cause havoc and mayhem.

According to a statement issued by the Æthiopian Ministry of Defense, the military agencies signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly combat terrorism and counter anti-peace forces that pose threat to regional peace and security, The EastAfrican reports.
Except for Kenya, because they weren’t there...
Sharing of military intelligence has perfectly worked elsewhere around the world but in Africa, due to dysfunctional systems, the mechanism has not often worked. There is high suspicion among certain countries and endless conflicts which hinder such cooperation.

For instance, military intelligence in Kenya raised issues about their Somali counterparts, accusing them of trading information with al-Shabaab
...... al-Qaeda's tentacle in East Africa...
. The National Intelligence Security Agency [NISA] denied the allegations.
No, no! Certainly not!
accusing Kenya Defense Forces of fuelling propaganda.

In Somalia, NISA has also been battling similar claims, with the opposition and a number of stakeholders accusing the team of infiltration. However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
NISA has often taken credit for a number of al-Shabaab snuffies who have either been killed or arrested.

Last year, Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble sacked Fahad Yasin, who is the current presidential security advisor, and served as the agency's director. Yasin, who had his victory as MP nullified by the electoral commission, is accused of meddling in the country's politics.

Fifth Column
BLM Marcher Pulls Gun on Motorist During Michigan 'Protest' After Police Shooting
[RedState] Black Lives Matter activists are protesting again, this time in Grand Rapids, Michigan. That follows an officer-involved shooting where a black male was fatally shot in the head.

Because there’s footage of the incident, we know what happened. The man in question, Patrick Lyoya, resisted arrest, but that alone would not be a justification to shoot. It was only after he attempted to take the officer’s taser, that the altercation turned deadly.

Grand Rapids Police Chief Eric Winstrom has released four videos of the fatal encounter that began when Lyoya, who was unarmed, was stopped for driving a car with a license plate that didn’t match the vehicle.

One clip showed Lyoya exiting the car, ignoring the officer’s commands, and trying to flee. He then tried to grab the cop’s stun gun during a struggle that lasted about 90 seconds before he was shot after the officer ordered him to "drop the Taser," footage shows.

To summarize, the officer did have a legitimate reason to pull the car over. This wasn’t just for a broken tail light, and non-matching license plates are often a sign of a stolen vehicle. Once things escalated to a physical confrontation and Lyoya took the officer’s weapon, the situation fundamentally changed. If someone takes a weapon from a police officer, the response is going to be deadly force.

As to why he was trying to run in the first place, Lyoya had a long record of violent mostly peaceful crime, including a conviction for beating a pregnant woman. It’s probable he was committing a crime when he was pulled over, given the discrepancy in the license plates and that he felt he would end up in prison if he submitted.

Obviously, Lyoya’s family is grieving just as you’d expect, but that does not mean this was an illegal shooting worthy of protest in response. Yet, as per usual, that’s exactly what we are getting.

From the Russian Perspective: Operation on Denazification of Ukraine: operational summary April 20th (updated)
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[NewsFrontInfo] 21:39 Deputy Commander of the Azov Regiment Svyatoslav Palamar announced the conditions for the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the territory of the Azovstal plant, the Strana newspaper reports. The military does not agree to surrender. But they are ready to evacuate to a third country or with its assistance, keeping their personal small arms.

Another condition is that they will be allowed to pick up the bodies of the dead. According to Palamar, Ukrainian negotiators Podolyak and Arakhamia agree to come to Mariupol if their Russian counterparts Medinsky and Slutsky arrive there in order to resolve the issue of the garrison and civilians leaving.

21:37 Cavusoglu: there are countries in NATO that want to "continue the war in Ukraine."

21:36 Since the beginning of the special operation, the RF Armed Forces have destroyed 498 UAVs and 2,397 armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

21:36 The RF Armed Forces with high-precision missiles attacked 12 Ukrainian military facilities, including two command posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Osa-AKM air defense system was destroyed.

21:35 During the day, the Russian Rocket Forces attacked four command posts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

21:34 Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter was shot down by Russian air defense systems in Donbass.

According to Come and See, at least three schools in the north of the city are home to Ukrainian military and territorial defense forces. “They occupied about three or four schools,” a channel source in the city said. At the same time, another Kharkiv resident confirmed to “Come and See” that a command and control center was deployed at the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs in the south of the city.

18:04 MFA: Ukrainian negotiators are trying to drag out the negotiation process, refusing to be constructive on priority issues. Kyiv also refuses to promptly respond to Moscow's proposals, Zakharova said. Moscow urges Kyiv to start looking for realistic options for agreements with Russia.

16:52 Our source in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that by the evening of April 18, Russian forces blocked significant forces of the 1st brigade of the National Guard in the Izyum direction near the Seversky Donets River. The withdrawal of units of the 1st brigade was not allowed in the president's office. The guards were pinned down by the river, and the bridges for the crossing had already been destroyed. Therefore, for complete destruction, they had only a few days, if not hours.

15:23 Persons who took part in hostilities in Ukraine are trying to enter Russia under the guise of refugees - Ministry of Internal Affairs

15:22 Boris Johnson urged to treat with mercy the British mercenaries captured in Mariupol.

15:20 Shariy: "John Kirby, Petagon: "Ukraine has received new planes." Ukrainian Armed Forces: "Ukraine did not receive new aircraft, only spare parts." The answer is simple - now you can assemble new aircraft from spare parts. The main thing is to pick up the right screwdrivers and wrenches.

10:20 Russian rocket artillery is working on the objects of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Nikolaev region.

10:05 A Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber is working on the facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.

09:33 Three members of the territorial defense in the Kherson region surrendered to the Russian Guard - TASS with reference to the department.

08:51 Ukrainian "defenders" in Nikolaev are mining roads, preparing to repel the offensive of Russian troops. However, civilians who are undermined by shells suffer from this.

[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News]
  • The Republican-led Senate voted to end the Reedy Creek Improvement District

  • It means the firm will no longer be able operate as a self-contained government

  • It rips up the 55-year-old deal that allowed Disney to effectively self-govern itself

  • But it may see two Florida counties saddled with $1billion of debt owed by Disney

  • It is the latest escalation in the ongoing battle between Ron DeSantis and Disney

  • It started when its bosses opposed the 'Don't Say Gay' bill and enraged governor

#1  Article lies. The bill says nothing about trans or homosexual. It simply states that you cannot talk about sexual matters to small children in school.
Mail Online knows this - or should if they claim to be 'journalists'. But they are deliberately stating a falsehood. That is called LYING.

#2  The bill just passed wipes out all similarly arrangements made after 1960. The Disney arrangement dates from 1968. So, it cannot be said that it's designed specifically targeted to punish Disney, which will be important when it lands in court. Also, the legislation allows for the arrangements to be re-established via negotiations between the state and the parties involved. This opens the door for accommodations to be made. So calling it "scorched earth" is hyperbole.

#8  First Blood my ass. Well overdue. Seem to remember Miley "Hannah Montana" Cyrus getting the Disney Grooming Business, some cush pop chart hits for whatever garbage that was, and what all she went on to influence.

I also seem to remember that Groomer+ thought they could just get a phone, and a pen, and dictate to De Santis to shelf this bill because....adults should be able to sexually assault toddlers so long as it is on school grounds? Florida Public Schools......perhaps add some sort of defamation suit vs. Groomer+, public attempt to sully Florida School System reputation? They approached under false flag and opened with carronades, full broadside and shiver their timbers.

But it may see two Florida counties saddled with $1billion of debt owed by Disney

Daily Mail is garbage, so I ask, is this money Groomer+ would have spent on its own to upkeep but now the county would upkeep with the increased tax base, so not "saddled"? BTW, saddled makes Urban Dictionary so nice choice of words.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Two pictures of the Middle East
Blustering in Egypt as changing reality becomes too much to ignore.
[AlAhram] The stark difference between US and Israeli plans for a New Middle East and the unchanging reality of Israel as an occupying power remains, as two recent pictures from the Middle East reveal.

Two vivid pictures, taken in less than a month, speak volumes about the serious challenges facing those powers, countries, and governing classes backed by their enablers in the media and some Arab think tanks that champion an elusive Middle East decoupled in their imagination and various scenarios from the past.

The first picture was taken last month and was of the participants at what has been falsely dubbed the "Negev Summit" where the foreign ministers of some Arab countries were pictured side by side with their Israeli and US counterparts. The Israelis, who spoke of a "historic" event, were the hosts.

China looks to learn from Russian failures in Ukraine
[AnNahar] With its ground troops forced to pull back in Ukraine and regroup, and its Black Sea flagship sunk, Russia's military failings are mounting. No country is paying closer attention than China to how a smaller and outgunned force has badly bloodied what was thought to be one of the world's most powerful armies.

China, like Russia, has been ambitiously reforming its Soviet-style military and experts say leader Xi Jinping will be carefully parsing the weaknesses exposed by the invasion of Ukraine as they might apply to his own People's Liberation Army and his designs on the self-governed island of Taiwan.

"The big question Xi and the PLA leadership must be asking in light of Russian operations in Ukraine is whether a military that has undergone extensive reform and modernization will be able to execute operations that are far more complex than those Russia has undertaken during its invasion of Ukraine," said M. Taylor Fravel, director of the security studies program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Over a million Ukrainians returned since Russian invasion: Kyiv
[AlAhram] Over a million Ukrainians have returned to their country since Russia launched its devastating invasion at the end of February, a front man for Kyiv's border force said Wednesday.

"From that period of time, 1.1 million of our citizens entered Ukraine," border official Andriy Demchenko said at a presser.

He added that "almost five million people" crossed the Ukrainian border in both directions since war with Moscow erupted.

Demchenko did not specify how many of those returning had earlier left the country in connection with the war.

He also said more than 2,000 people were arrested for attempting to cross the border illegally.

The Grand Turk
Turkey explains Iraq incursion
[RT] By sending its troops into Kurdish areas in northern Iraq, Ankara was looking to fight terrorism and secure its own borders, not acquire new territories, Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important...
has stated.

The aim of Operation Claw Lock, which kicked off late on Sunday, was to "rid Iraqi lands of forces of Evil and guarantee the security of our borders," Erdogan outlined during a parliamentary group meeting of the ruling AK Party on Wednesday.

The northern Iraqi regions of Metina, Zap, and Avasin-Basyan, where the operation is unfolding, have been used by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) to prepare attacks against The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
, he said.

The PKK, which is considered a terrorist organization by Ankara, has been fighting Ottoman Turkish forces for decades, striving for greater autonomy for the Kurdish population.

"Turkey does not claim any territories," the president pointed out, adding that it was instead "making every effort to contribute to the strengthening of their territorial integrity and political unity so that our neighbors can live in security and peace."

"We will continue to do so. We act with the same aim in Syria as in Iraq," Erdogan insisted.

On Tuesday, the Iraqi Foreign Ministry slammed the operation by Ankara as "a violation of its illusory sovereignty and the sanctity of the country" that didn’t make Turkey look like a good neighbor. Iraq shouldn’t be "an arena for conflicts and settling scores for other external parties," according to the ministry.

The Ottoman Turkish Defense Ministry had said earlier that the incursion was needed to avert a large-scale attack on Ottoman Turkish territory that was being prepared by the Kurdish forces.
Al Ahram adds:
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday said the central government in Baghdad supported Turkey's latest offensive against outlawed Kurdish militants in northern Iraq.

The Turkish leader's comments came a day after Iraq summoned Turkey's ambassador to Baghdad to lodge a formal protest against Erdogan's latest military campaign.

Turkey's armed forces have reported the death of two soldiers and dozens of Kurdish militants since the launch Sunday of their third offensive in northern Iraq since 2020.

Erdogan told a parliamentary meeting of his ruling party that both Baghdad and the leaders of the autonomous Kurdish region based in Erbil supported Turkey's ground and air assault.

"I thank the central government in Iraq and the regional administration for their support to our fight against terror," Erdogan said.

"I wish success for our heroic soldiers involved in this operation, which we are carrying out in close cooperation with the central Iraqi government and the regional administration in northern Iraq."

Officials in Baghdad are publicly voicing displeasure over the Turkish military push into the mountains of northern Iraq, and later on Wednesday, the government dismissed Erdogan's claims.

"We promise that everything the Turkish side keeps saying regarding any coordination or agreement with the Iraqi government is not true," foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahhaf said, quoted by state news agency INA.

The foreign ministry on Tuesday said Iraq handed the Turkish ambassador a "firmly-worded note of protest" urging its northern neighbor to "put an end to acts of provocation and unacceptable violations".

Some analysts believe that Iraqi leaders -- while lodging formal protests -- are privately happy that Turkey is trying to punish fighters from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

The group is recognized as a terrorist organization by both Ankara and its Western allies.

Ukraine receives fighter planes, parts to bolster air force: Pentagon
[France24] Ukraine has received fighter planes and aircraft parts to bolster its air force in the face of Russia's invasion, the Pentagon said Tuesday, declining to specify the number of aircraft or their origin.

The announcement comes a week after US President Joe Biden unveiled an $800 million military aid package for Kyiv, including heavier equipment such as howitzers, as fighting escalates in eastern Ukraine.

The moves indicate a change in attitude in the West, which had initially refused to provide Ukraine with heavy armaments to avoid action Russia could consider direct involvement in the conflict.

Ukrainian forces "right now have available to them more fixed-wing fighter aircraft than they did two weeks ago," Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters on Tuesday.

"Without getting into what other nations are providing, they (Ukrainian forces) have received additional platforms and parts to be able to increase their fleet size," he said.

Kirby did not specify the type of aircraft delivered to the Ukrainian military, which had been pleading for warplanes for weeks, but suggested that they were Russian-made.

"Other nations who have experience with those kinds of aircraft have been able to help them get more aircraft up and running," Kirby said.

He underscored that while the United States had helped with the shipment of some parts, it had "not transported whole aircraft."

Kyiv has asked its Western partners to provide MiG-29 fighter jets that its pilots already know how to fly, and which a handful of Eastern European countries have.

A possible transfer of such aircraft from Poland was discussed in early March, before the United States poured cold water on the plan, fearing Russia would see it as direct engagement by NATO in the war.

Feds could limit water flow to Arizona, other western states
[JustTheNews] Concern focuses on continually falling water level in Lake Powell, a reservoir that supplies millions with water and hydroelectricity.

Tanya Trujillo, Assistant Secretary for Water and Science for the U.S. Department of the Interior, wrote governors’ offices of seven states about the continually falling water level in Lake Powell.

The reservoir is one along the Colorado River Basin and supplies millions with not only a source of freshwater but also electricity from the hydroelectric plant at the Glen Canyon dam. Currently, water levels sit at 3,522’ mean sea level (msl) but continue to fall, according to U.S. Bureau of Reclamation data.

Should the water level drop below 3,490 feet msl, Trujillo warned the governors that the shortage would affect both water flow downriver and power generation at the large power facility.

“In such circumstances, Glen Canyon Dam facilities face unprecedented operational reliability challenges, water users in the Basin face increased uncertainty, downstream resources could be impacted, the western electrical grid would experience uncertain risk and instability, and water and power supplies to the West and Southwestern United States would be subject to increased operational uncertainty,” she said in her April 8 letter.

She added that a nearby Arizona city and part of the Navajo Nation would lose drinking water should Lake Powell’s water level be allowed to fall below the threshold.

“In addition, should Lake Powell decline further below elevation 3490 feet, we have recently confirmed that essential drinking water infrastructure supplying the City of Page, Arizona and the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation could not function," she wrote.

The solution, Trujillo said, would be to pre-emptively limit the amount of water released downstream. She suggests in the letter that the agency reduce downstream water to 7 million acre-feet, representing a nearly 7% reduction in the “water year” that ends in September.

Tom Buschatzke, Director of Arizona’s Department of Water Resources, told 12News that the state’s residents are “going to have to learn to live with less water."

In addition to Arizona, Trujillo sent the letter to governors in California, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. The states, along with authorities in Mexico, have until April 22 to respond to the request.

#6  For the past several decades, California politicians under the influence of their developer buddies have operated under the assumption that we need to accommodate everyone in the whole wide world who wants to move here. They claim we need more affordable housing but the more they build the higher the cost of housing gets. They only way they can ever make it truly affordable is to turn the whole state into a slum where nobody wants to live. Of course, the real reason for all the building is that developers get rich and bribe the politicians while the quality of life for those of us who already live here declines. Now it seeems they are bumping into hard limits to how many people we really can accommodate. Newsom likes to blame drought and global warming for any water shortages. He will institute water rationing, rolling blackouts and taxes on miles driven by people who need to get to work. But the fact is we have too many people using more water and power than he can provide.

Russia tests new Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile in what Putin hails as ‘truly unique weapon'
[FoxNews] Russia’s Defense Ministry announced Wednesday that it has conducted the first test launch of its new Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile – a nuclear weapon that President Vladimir Putin says will "provide food for thought for those who... try to threaten our country."
How long do the Russians usually take from first test to full production, then placement for use? How much longer can it be expected to take, given current supply chain and sanctions issues?
The ministry said the missile was launched Wednesday from the Plesetsk launch facility in northern Russia and its practice warheads hit designated targets at the Kura firing range on the far eastern Kamchatka Peninsula.

"This truly unique weapon will strengthen the combat potential of our armed forces, reliably ensure Russia's security from external threats and provide food for thought for those who, in the heat of frenzied aggressive rhetoric, try to threaten our country," Putin said, according to Reuters.

The Sarmat is a heavy missile, intended to replace the Soviet-made Voyevoda missile which was code-named Satan by the West.

Putin and his officials said it's capable of penetrating any prospective missile defense.

"It has no analogues in the world and won't have for a long time to come," Reuters quoted him as saying.

#3  After failing to take Mariupol's steel works plant

Apparently, in addition to being a big-ass steel plant, Asovstal Steel & Iron Works is also a Soviet-era underground city six levels deep with 3 meters of concrete between levels that was designed to survive nuke war. (Shades of the mine-shaft gap!). Cleaning this out would be a high-casualty nightmare. Siege is a better option if you have the time. It's not like the defenders are going anywhere.

He also assured that representatives of the Ukrainian delegation are in constant contact with the defenders in Mariupol.

They didn't receive whole planes from other countries" . At the same time, he confirmed that the Ukrainian military nevertheless "increased the size of its fleet" after receiving spare parts and repairing damaged aircraft.

22:30 Podolyak confirmed that he was ready to go to negotiations with representatives of the Russian Federation in Mariupol: "Yes. Without any conditions. We are ready to hold a special round of negotiations in Mariupol. One on one. Two on two. To pick up our guys, Azov people, the military ", civilians, children, the living and the wounded. Everyone. Because they belong. Because they are in my heart. Forever. No options."

22:28 Over the past 24 hours, Russia has introduced four more battalion-tactical groups into Ukraine, and over the past week - 17 BTGs, writes CNN with reference to a Pentagon representative. In total, according to US estimates, there are now 82 Russian BTGs in Ukraine.

22:26 Zelensky: "I am very happy to say with cautious optimism that our partners have begun to better understand our needs, understand what exactly we need. And when exactly we need it all. Not in a week, not in a month, but immediately. Exactly now that Russia is trying to step up its attacks."

He also said that one of the topics in negotiations with Western partners is the restoration of Ukraine: "To resume the export of Ukrainian agricultural products and block the possibilities of Russian exports is a common goal for all of Europe."

22:04 The President of the European Council Charles Michel announced that the trust fund for solidarity with Ukraine will begin work on May 5.

22:00 Denisova said that at the moment 878,000 Ukrainians have been forcibly taken to Russia, of which 164,000 are children. According to the Ombudsman, she does not know the whereabouts of these people - perhaps they are in filtration camps or temporary premises.

She also stressed that the International Red Cross "does not fulfill its mandate" - "no matter how much I wrote to the Red Cross, not a single answer came."

21:54 Ukrzaliznytsia reported that on April 20, the second Intercity train from Kiev to Polish Przemysl began to run, which will depart daily at 17:00 and arrive in Poland at 05:00 (departure back at 08:00, arrival in Kiev at 20 :43). Tickets for Ukrainians (except for men from 18 to 60 years old) are free.

21:50 Zelensky said he did not know when the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be able to unblock Mariupol. According to him, the situation in the city is deteriorating, in the hands of the defenders of Ukraine hundreds of wounded who protect women and children. "All the guys in Mariupol want our victory. Nobody is going to surrender to the enemy. These are their inner feelings," the president said.

21:48 Among the NATO countries, "there are forces" that are interested in continuing the war in Ukraine and "weakening Russia," Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu said in a telephone conversation with Lavrov.

21:46 Moscow stated that "Kyiv disrupted the humanitarian operation announced by the RF Armed Forces on April 20 at Azovstal, no one used the open corridor."

21:42 The Maritime Guard of the State Border Service has banned fishing and navigation in nine estuaries of the Danube River because of the danger of undermining ships on drifting mines laid in the Black Sea by the Russians.

21:40 The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that Erdogan's telephone conversations with Zelensky and Putin are planned "in the coming days."

21:37 The United States is concerned that China supports Russia's actions in Ukraine, said Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman.

21:34 The battle for Donbass may not be the last, and a big offensive in the East has not yet begun, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov said in an interview with NV. According to him, there can still be many different things ahead: "This is not, as they used to say, the last and decisive battle. This is one of the battles on the territory of our country since 2014."

He also believes that for the next two to four weeks the Russian Federation can still pull up new resources and reserves: "In no case should we underestimate the strength of our enemy: a big country, a lot of people, not quite smart."

21:32 The heads of the Senates of the Czech Republic and Poland appealed to the parliaments of all civilized countries with an appeal to urgently provide weapons to Ukraine. "After visiting Bucha, Irpen and Borodianka, the speakers are convinced that the crimes of the Russian invaders in Ukraine are genocide," Ukrainian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Yevhen Perebiynis said.

21:28 The United States has introduced a new package of sanctions against Russia, which includes about 30 individuals associated with Otkritie Bank and another 40 legal entities.

According to Voronov, Ukrainian specialists will study the cruiser after the war. Of particular interest is a part of the cross on which Jesus was crucified, which was allegedly kept in Moscow as a talisman. They will not raise the ship from the bottom, because there are too many explosives and fuel on it, but even novice divers will be able to see it, because it sank at a depth of about 50 meters, being itself 45 meters high.

21:18 G20 finance ministers and central bank governors left the meeting today as Russian officials began speaking, writes Bloomberg.

Also, one of the conditions is the opportunity to pick up the bodies of the dead.

Podolyak and Arakhamia agree to come to Mariupol if their Russian colleagues Medinsky and Slutsky arrive there to resolve the issue of the exit of the garrison and civilians, he added.

21:02 Gaidai denied the information spread in Russia that Ukrainian troops are retreating from Lisichansk and Severodonetsk, and the army of the Russian Federation and the "LNR" completely took Rubizhne. "The line of defense is from Rubizhne to Popasna," the head of the Luhansk OVA said.

20:59 The head of the Kiev OVA Oleksandr Pavlyuk signed an order to transfer three churches from the UOC to the OCU. Another such order, which will affect three parishes, he plans to sign by Easter.

"If there are legal grounds and the desire of the religious community to move, we will do it. The regional military administration acts exclusively in the legislative field in the interests of its residents and the Ukrainian state," Pavlyuk stressed.

20:51 The humanitarian corridor from Mariupol did not work as planned today, Vereshchuk said. According to her, due to the lack of control over their own military on the ground, the invaders were unable to ensure a proper ceasefire.

"Also, due to the inherent disorganization and slovenliness, the occupiers were unable to ensure timely delivery of people to the point where dozens of our buses and ambulances were waiting. Tomorrow morning we will resume our efforts in the Mariupol direction. I appeal to our people in Mariupol: we will fight for everyone of you!" Vereshchuk emphasized.

20:41 Some of the planned buses with evacuated residents of Mariupol are moving towards Zaporozhye along a route determined by Russia, said the head of the Donetsk OVA Pavel Kirilenko. According to him, compared with the declared number of buses, there were much fewer of them. People gathered at the collection points, but few people got on the indicated buses. Now some of these buses go along a route determined by the Russian Federation.

20:30 Military equipment with V marks appeared in Mariupol, which probably used to take part in the battles near Kiev, said the deputy commander of the Azov regiment Svyatoslav Palamar: "This indicates that they transferred fresh forces here and, probably, this is the same bastard , which was near Kiev, because their equipment had the identification of the letter V".

20:22 About 85 percent of Russian military equipment has been withdrawn from Belarus, and there are almost no planes and helicopters of the Russian Armed Forces left at Belarusian airfields, reports Belaruski Gayun.

In recent days, only single trucks have been observed in Osipovichi, Kolodishchi, Khoiniki, Rechitsa, Kalinkovichi, Kozenki (Mozyr). However, the loading of broken equipment on platforms at the railway station in Yelsk continues. At the same time, there are practically no Russian aircraft at the airfields, but single attack aircraft, bombers and drones could remain, so it is too early to announce a complete withdrawal of troops.

The publication notes that Russia was forced to transfer almost all military equipment from Belarus to the Donbass.

20:15 Japan expelled eight Russian diplomats, NHK reports.

20:07 Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready for any format of exchanging its civilians and military blocked by Russia in Mariupol for Russians: "We are ready for various formats of exchanging our people for Russian people, Russian military, whom they abandoned. The Russian media are publishing a video where the militants set the flags of the Russian Federation and the "LPR" at the entrance to the city. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that the Russians tried to gain a foothold in the western and northwestern parts of Rubizhne, but failed.

18:59 Zelensky does not confirm that Ukraine received a draft document from Russia as part of the negotiations. He also commented on Peskov’s words that now “the ball is on the side of Kyiv”: “I, in principle, played football well before. What are the rules there: you need to have two teams and have a ball. Here it seems to me that Peskov he plays football with himself.<...> We will definitely show how we hit the goal as soon as they give us the ball. "

18:41 Kiev took advantage of the opportunity of the presidency in the European Energy Community, which Ukraine received for 2022, and formally submitted a proposal to the organization to introduce a ban on the purchase, import, transfer and transportation of energy products produced or processed in Russia. We are talking about all oil and oil products, coal and other types of solid fuels, liquefied natural gas.

Briefly about Ukraine. 04/20/2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] 1. Mariupol.
The active cleansing of Azovstal continues, the active work of artillery and aviation helps the assault groups to advance in industrial buildings. Along the way, civilians are taken out of the territory of Azovstal, who manage to escape from there.

2. Zaporozhye.
Active fighting east of Gulyaipol, troops are advancing west of Velikaya Novoselka, occupying several villages. On the line Kamenskoye-Orekhov-Gulyaipole without changes.

3. Ugledar.
Intensive fighting in the region of Novomikhailovka-Ugledar and Velikaya Novoselka. Two settlements were taken south of Velikaya Novoselka.

4.Marinka.
No major changes. The enemy firmly holds positions in the waste heap area. Without the capture of Novomikhailovka or control of the Maryinka-Kurakhovo highway, it will be difficult to push him out.

5. Avdievka.
No significant changes. Fighting continues in the area of Novobakhmutovka and Troitsky. There is no active traffic to New York yet.

6. LPR.
Today the enemy withdrew from Rubizhne and Kremennaya. According to unconfirmed information, the enemy is preparing a retreat from Severodonetsk. In Popasna, heavy street fighting. The pace of progress in the city is low.

7. Izyum.
Heavy fighting in the direction of Barvenkovo and Slavyansk. The enemy has thrown his main reserves here, which leads to very intense battles, which should hinder the pace of the advance of the Russian troops. The enemy is also strengthening the defenses of Seversk, Yampol and Krasny Liman, which will soon be on the agenda.

8. Kharkov.
Fighting north of the city and east of Chuguev. Both sides are actively using MLRS and cannon artillery, but so far the tendencies towards positionalism are dominating here.

9. Nikolaev.
The parties do not carry out active offensive actions. The RF Armed Forces strike at targets in Nikolaev and south of Nikopol. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to answer in the direction of Kherson. Clashes are going on in the villages between Kherson and Nikolaev.

10. Odessa.
No significant changes. The transfer of additional troops from western Ukraine to the city is noted. They also report the transfer of NATO cargo. Delivery of anti-ship missiles is expected, which will complicate the operations of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the western part of the Black Sea.

War in Ukraine: FAO renews appeal to bolster agriculture and provide urgent support to vulnerable rural households
[Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations] Some $115.4 million are urgently needed to prevent a further deterioration of the food insecurity situation and worsening of the disruption of food supply chains in Ukraine. There is urgency to support Ukrainian farmers in planting vegetables and potatoes during this spring season, and farmers should be allowed and supported to go to their fields and save the winter wheat harvest, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) said today.

With this Plan, in line with the revised Inter-Agency Flash Appeal, FAO has more than doubled its initial request of $50 million to support 376 660 small- and medium-sized farming households or almost one million people through December 2022.

“As food access, production and overall food availability deteriorate in many parts of Ukraine as a result of the war, efforts to bolster agricultural production and the functioning of food supply chains will be critical to averting a food crisis in 2022 and into 2023,” said Rein Paulsen, FAO Director of Emergencies and Resilience. “FAO’s immediate concern is to support the ongoing spring planting season and to prevent the disruption of the upcoming winter crop harvesting, which typically occurs in June-July, and could severely threaten food security in the country. Agriculture depends on seasons. There is no time to waste to get ready for the upcoming fall season.”

Agriculture is central to Ukraine’s economy, playing a key role in protecting food security and livelihoods across the country, as well as the region. The vast destruction of crops and infrastructure due to the war jeopardizes food production and food security.

FAO estimates that one‑third of the crops and agricultural land may not be harvested or cultivated in 2022. The forced displacement of civilian populations fleeing the war and the conscription of men into territorial defence forces is resulting in labour shortages and an increased burden on women. This situation is exacerbated by a decrease in the access and availability of crucial agricultural inputs.

Preliminary data collected by FAO, through ongoing assessments, demonstrates that farmers at all levels need cash to procure inputs and services for food production and to maintain their farming operations.

US maritime surveillance plane was over Black Sea minutes before Russian flagship Moskva was ‘hit by Ukrainian missiles'
  • A P-8 Poseidon surveillance aircraft was patrolling the coast before the attack

  • The high-tech jet can spot ships on radar at ranges of more than 100 miles

  • Ukraine sunk Moskva after firing two Neptune anti-ship missiles on April 13

#1  The ship was also reportedly "harassed" by drones of the type Ukraine licensed from Turkey, and the Moskva was apparently conducting shore support -- which likely brought it close to the coast.

So it didn't take any external support for the Ukrainians to find it.

Arabia
White House quits asking Saudis for more oil after verbal dust-up with top official: report
[FoxNews] The United States has reportedly stopped asking Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman quietly folded that tent in 2016, doing terrible things to the guys running it, and has since been dragging the kingdom into the current century...
to pump more oil to combat market disruption from Russia’s war with Ukraine as the relationship between the U.S. and the oil rich kingdom is said to have hit a new low.President Joe Biden
...... 46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity, except maybe for abandoning Afghanistan......
’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan brought up the 2018 killing of Saudi journalist beloved martyr of journalism Jamal Khashoggi
......who was simultaneously a very well paid Washington Post columnist and a long time propagandist for the Moslem Brotherhood and Al Qaeda — he died while on the Qatari payroll, but previously wrote at the behest of then-Saudi intel chief Prince Turki al-Faisal......
in a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince and modernizer of Saudi Arabia as of 2016. The Turks hate him, so he must be all right, despite the occasional brutal murder of Qatar-owned journalists. As crown prince, Moe has quietly jettisoned his country's policy of trying to impose its religion on the rest of the world...
which angered the crown prince to the point where he told Sullivan never to mention it again and to forget about Saudi Arabia increasing its oil production, according to a Wall Street Journal report on Wednesday,
That’s what the subtle types call diplomacy. Well done, Jakey!
The report states that the Biden administration (aka the Wilmington comorra)
...the collection of boodlers, grifters, hangers-on, and self-proclaimed experts affiliated with the Biden Crime Family. Entrusted with an entire nation as the result of a suspicious election, they set about happily implementing stuff they absorbed in college, all of which blew up and splattered the rest of us...
has since asked Saudi Arabia to increase production as gas prices soar in the United States amid Russia’s war with Ukraine and the conversations have gone nowhere.

A senior U.S. official told the Wall Street Journal that the White House has now stopped asking for more oil production from Saudi Arabia and now asks only that the country avoid actions that hurt U.S. interests in Ukraine.

Everyone remember come Mid-terms the LSD's know we have plenty of OIL waiting to be pumped here in the USA. But they have taken every opportunity to halt pumping, refining, and delivery of it.

Under their "RULE" Gas has gone from $2.12
to $3.69+ a gallon, Food prices have gone up 1/4 to 1/3 in cost and our dollar is worth 8.54% LESS than a year ago.

But the LSD's solution is IMPORT other Nations' costly OIL, where there are FAR LESS Environmental protections and a 100x's greater likelihood of Oil Spills, Environmental Pollution in the delivery process

It also seems they could care less about driving up US Gas, delivery, and Food prices. ALL OF WHICH are seriously hurting the lower-income working wage earners?

So IF we vote based on facts and our wallets and not their politically spewed BS, they are no longer in control come 2024.

#8  How Not To Do Diplomacy or, Exercises in Futility

Lecture and insult the Chinese in your very first meet & greet

Destroy any remaining influence you might have over OPEC and oil price stability through pointless insults directed at your only Arab ally

Encourage a puppet regime to demand the impossible - surrender of Russia's most important military base and membership in NATO - and then walk away, refusing to deter the puppet regime's enemy or even pay any attention to him

Leak your classified intelligence all over the world - but refuse to engage with the president of the country that is threatening an invasion

Insult all the other major nations you need to persuade to join you. Call their leaders "shaky" when they declare they'll do what's best for their people

Destroy the world's economy and make your own people poor as a means of getting back at your adversary

Iraq
Casualties among Iraqi soldiers, civilians in clashes with ISIS in Diyala
[Rudaw] Three members of the Sunni tribal forces were killed and eight others, including civilians, were maimed in northern Diyala province, following an attack by members of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) on Tuesday evening, officials confirmed to Rudaw.

A Hashd al-Ashayiri base in Qara Tapa’s Kashkul village was attacked by suspected ISIS members on Tuesday, killing four of the forces of Evil in the festivities that ensued. This is the third time ISIS has attacked the area within the last week, according to Qara Tapa’s Mayor Wasfi al-Tamimi.

Rudaw has learnt that three members of Hashd al-Ashayiri were killed during the incident, which also resulted in eight people maimed, including both civilians and members of the armed forces.

Hashd al-Ashayiri are Sunni tribal forces under the umbrella of the Iraqi Armed Forces, founded in 2014 to fight in the war against ISIS. Hashd al-Ashayiri fights ISIS threats in areas that are predominantly Sunni.

Additionally, ISIS carried out two other offences in other parts of Diyala province on Tuesday night, targeting brigades of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) and the Iraqi army. The attacks were quickly thwarted without any casualties.

Russian military 'advisor' in Mali killed by road bomb
[AlAhram] A Russian national operating alongside Malian soldiers was killed on Tuesday by a roadside kaboom in the center of the conflict-torn Sahel state, an army document and officials said.

A Malian army unit accompanied by a "Russian advisor" struck an improvised bomb near the town of Hombori, according to a military memo seen by AFP late Tuesday.

One Russian advisor died after being airlifted to the central town of Sevare, the Malian army memo said.

The death marks the first confirmed fatality of what in Mali are officially described as Russian military instructors.

The United States, La Belle France, and others say the instructors are operatives from the Russian private-security firm Wagner.

Mali's army-dominated government denies the claim.

An official at a hospital in Sevare, who asked not to be named, confirmed the death and said the Russian was in his 30s.

An elected official in central Mali, who also requested anonymity, said that he had "learned of the death of a Wagner agent".

Mali is ruled by a military junta that seized power in a coup in 2020.

It initially promised to restore civilian rule, but it ignored an earlier commitment to West Africa bloc ECOWAS to stage elections in February this year, prompting regional sanctions.

The junta's friendship with Russia has also worsened friction with La Belle France, a traditional ally.

La Belle France, which intervened in Mali in 2013, decided in February to withdraw its forces in the country after a decade-long fight against jihadists.

Vast swathes of Mali lie beyond government control due to the brutal conflict, which began in 2012 before spreading to neighboring Burkina Faso

Prosecution refers man accused of killing Coptic priest in Alexandria to trial for 'deliberate murder'
CSI Egypt:
[AlAhram] The Public Prosecution referred on Tuesday the man accused of murdering Coptic priest Arsanios Wadid last week to stand trial on charges of deliberate murder and possesion of a cold weapon, affirming that he was "fully cognizant" of his actions at the time of the incident.

The prosecution has collected evidence and built a case against the defendant based on the testimonies of 17 eyewitnesses and the Ministry of Health and Population’s Regional Mental Health Council’s report on his mental health condition during the time of the crime, the statement read.

The council's report showed that the man was fully cognizant and possessed agency throughout the crime, according to the statement.

The report also found that the defendant did not suffer from any symptoms of mental or psychological disorder at the time of examination or at the time of committing the crime, thereby making him criminally responsible, the prosecution said.

Additionally, the Public Prosecution said the victim’s autopsy report showed that the DNA extracted from the blood on the knife that was seized from the defendant after he was apprehended matched with the genetic fingerprint of the victim.

The prosecution also decided to move forward with the referral after checking on-site surveillance cameras, inspecting the scene of the crime, and obtaining other evidence, the statement said.

Wadid, 56, the Coptic priest of the Church of the Virgin Mary and Mar Boulos in Alexandria, was stabbed with a knife while walking along the Mediterranean Corniche in the Sidi Bishr District in Alexandria on Friday 8 April in a crime that terrorised witnesses and left the public in a state of shock.

Wadid was transported to Mostafa Kamel Military Hospital in Sidi Gaber, however, he departed this vale of tears.

During interrogation, the defendant confessed to deliberately killing the victim, the prosecution said in a statement last week.

However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
the defendant later recanted his confession, claiming that the knife in his possession was just for self-defence and that he was not aware of what he was doing on the day of the incident until he was arrested.

Wadid, born in 1966, was ordained to priesthood in 1995 by the late Pope Shenouda III, the former head of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
