Russia Slams Israeli 'Occupation' of Golan Heights After Jerusalem Supports Ukraine
This is from back on Feb. 24th; I'm posting it for historical purposes
[Haaretz] Russia's UN envoy voices 'concern' about Israel's plans for expansion in the north, saying Russia does not recognize its sovereignty over the region, hours before Russian attacks on Ukraine

Russia condemned the Israeli occupation of the Golan Heights on Wednesday and said it does not recognize Israel's sovereignty in the region.

The statement, issued before Russia's all-out assault on Ukraine, followed Israel's first official statement of support for Ukraine in the unfolding crisis and appeared to be a Russian message to Israel...

"We are concerned over Tel Aviv’s announced plans for expanding settlement activity in the occupied Golan Heights, which directly contradicts the provisions of the 1949 Geneva Convention," said Russia's United Nations envoy Dmitry Polyanskiy just hours before Russian President Vladimir Putin launched large-scale attacks across Ukraine on Thursday.

Speaking at the UN Security Council’s monthly briefing on the Middle East, he stressed "Russia’s unchanging position, according to which we do not recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights that are an inalienable part of Syria."

On Wednesday afternoon, Israel's Foreign Ministry issued its first statement supporting Ukraine since the start of the conflict. Israel deliberately refrained from mentioning Russia or President Putin in the statement, which stated support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, reflecting the complicated position Israel has found itself in over the crisis.

Israel has an interest in maintaining neutrality in order to prevent a conflict that would make it difficult to continue its attacks in Syria, where Russia has a military presence.

The statement, which was approved by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Defense Minister Benny Gantz, also expressed Israel's readiness to transfer immediate humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and said Israel is engaged in dialogue with its partners on ways to restore the diplomatic path...

#3  Ironically amusing, the Golan and Ukraine both serve as defensive barriers to protect the homeland from invaders.

I wonder if the Rus really meant it or whether the statement was pro-forma UN blather to keep the Syrians happy. Russia and Israel seem to have some sort of agreement that allows the IDF blow stuff up as needed in Syria.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Israel reportedly leaning toward sending defensive military aid to Ukraine
[Times of Israel] First couple of paragraphs
Israeli officials are set to discuss expanding aid to Ukraine, including supplies of defensive military equipment so far withheld by Jerusalem, according to a report Tuesday.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, Israel has rejected requests from Kyiv and the West for military equipment such as anti-missile batteries, and only recently agreed to send helmets and flak jackets to civilian rescue and medical forces, part of a policy meant to preserve ties with Russia. Instead it has sent some 100 tons of humanitarian aid and set up a field hospital in western Ukraine for six weeks.

However, Israeli officials are now expected to support sending Ukraine military aid, albeit at symbolic levels, and still with hopes of keeping its relationship with Russia intact, Haaretz reported Tuesday, citing officials with knowledge of the matter.

Russian troops stole $5M worth of farm vehicles from a John Deere dealership, which remotely locked the thieves out of the equipment
[Yahoo] Russian troops occupying the Ukrainian city of Melitopol stole nearly $5 million of farm vehicles from a John Deere dealership and shipped some of them more than 700 miles to Chechnya, CNN reported, only to find they had been rendered useless by a remote-locking system that prevented the thieves from turning the equipment on.

Two compound harvesters, valued at $300,000 each, as well as 27 other tractors, seeders, and additional pieces of equipment were stolen from the dealership. But the remote access technology of the equipment, which allows for GPS tracking and some of the vehicles to be remotely operated, prevented them from being used.

"When the invaders drove the stolen harvesters to Chechnya, they realized that they could not even turn them on, because the harvesters were locked remotely," a source familiar with the incident told CNN.

While the equipment could still be scrapped and sold for parts by Russian troops, the source said it is currently lying idle on a farm near Grozny.

Biden Admin Won't Block $10 Billion for Russian Nuclear Work in Iran, Blinken Says
Just another instance where the people engaging in Putin Opposition Theater are actually a life support system for the SOB.
[FreeBeacon] Secretary of State Antony Blinken told lawmakers late last week that the United States will not stop Russia from cashing in on a $10 billion contract to build out portions of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
So they've found nuclear power they like. Too bad they don't believe in building nuclear plants _here_. Hey, that's an idea, we can tell them Russia's building the plant in Twin Falls Idaho, and they'll _have_ to oppose it!
Blinken, in testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee, confirmed for the first time publicly that the Biden administration will not stand in the way of Russia-Iran nuclear cooperation. Rep. Darrell Issa (R., Calif.) asked Blinken to provide assurances that sanctions on both Iran and Russia remain in place as long as Moscow continues its unprovoked war in Ukraine.

Blinken said any sanctions lifted as part of a new nuclear deal will be separate from the United States' current pressure campaign on Russia, meaning that the $10 billion contract between Tehran and Moscow will be permitted to go through.

"The actions that Russia would take pursuant to the agreement, if there is a return to the agreement, would not be in contravention of the sanctions imposed on Russia for its actions in Ukraine," Blinken said.

As part of the ongoing negotiations with Iran on a revamped nuclear deal—which are being led by Russia on the United States' behalf—the Biden administration committed to waive sanctions preventing Tehran from paying Moscow at least $10 billion to construct nuclear reactors in the country. Republican lawmakers say the concession undermines the international community’s efforts to isolate Russia in response to its ongoing war in Ukraine.
It's all Kayfabe, while they build out nuclear infrastructure for all the people threatening to nuke us every morning.

#7  ...it seems to me that they sent their best in the first round.

They did. A good chunk of their contract soldiers were spent in the Ukraine. A general mobilization would also include those that have left the military along with raw recruits but it would take time to get them fitted, back in shape and in a rough form for the front.

#8  TW - I believe roughly 10% of available RF ground forces are currently committed in the SMO. As the troops rotate probably 25% of the RF ground forces will have experience with near peer combat operations following the completion of the SMO. By contrast current NATO forces have limited experience operating in combat without enjoying air supremacy. Mobilized RF reserves without combat experience would be useful for securing lines of communication, occupation/civil affairs functions and relief of forces in static sections. That frees up more capable troops for direct action

#13  We can expect any mobilization plan to go as smoothly has their invasion plan. Our experience with Desert Shield/Storm showed that mother nature doesn't care what your timelines are. The human body takes weeks to get in condition for combat (less just throwing bodies at the enemy to eat up their ammo). If it wasn't for the massive logistics and support structure in the services which allowed the US to literally overwhelm normal log problems, our plans wouldn't even be effective.

#15  Darth - The RF has 170 Battalion Tactical Groups. 75% would be 127 units committed. Most estimates I’ve seen suggest it’s closer to 40 units in contact plus the logistical tail. So ballpark 25% of the available direct action elements. That is more than the 10% I mentioned earlier. Frankly I’m looking forward to reading the history of this operation in future to see what actually happened. So much propaganda on both sides …

Except the Russians don't have troops waiting to go into Iran to symphon off.

Iraqi soldier killed in clashes with PKK-affiliated force in Shingal, 3500 flee
[Rudaw] An Iraqi soldier was killed during festivities with a force affiliated to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Shingal on Monday as Baghdad steps up efforts to retake the town from the group, the cousin of the soldier told Rudaw.

Adam Mohammed, 45, was killed in his hometown of Shingal following almost two weeks of festivities between the Iraqi army and the Shingal Resistance® Units (YBS), his cousin, Maysar Saado, told Rudaw on Monday afternoon. The Iraqi army has not confirmed his death

The YBS, which is an all-Yazidi group affiliated to the PKK, has been partly in control of Shingal since the Iraqi army withdrew in the face of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) attack in late 2014.

Mohammed was a Moslem Kurd who had been living in an IDP camp in Duhok since he fled Shingal, according to his cousin.

The Iraqi army has attempted on various occasions in the past to retake the town from the YBS with limited success. On April 18, armed festivities erupted between the Iraqi army and the group, when the latter opened fire on an army convoy that did not stop at a checkpoint in the north of the region.

Following the recent escalation, the army seems more resilient to establish control, with Iraqi troops controlling several YBS checkpoints in Shingal since mid-April.

Iraqi Security Cell said in a statement on Monday that there have been festivities between the army and the YBS in Shingal's Sinune subdistrict in the last two day, claiming that the "security incidents" took place after the hard boyz "blocked" a number of roads connecting Sinune and Khansur subdistricts to nearby villages and set up barriers on these roads.

"They prevented the movement of people between these areas," said the cell, adding that when the army tried to open these roads, they came heavily under fire by the YBS with snipers and roadside explosions. The army responded to the firing and "opened roads for the movement of people."

The cell did not confirm the soldier's death.

Sherwan Dubardani, a Kurdish MP in Baghdad who represents Nineveh province, told Rudaw on Monday that the YBS attacked the Iraqi army on Monday in retaliation to Sunday's attack on them by the army, "which led to the control of a number of YBS checkpoints by the army."

The Iraqi army’s attacks coincide with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
’s fresh offensive against the PKK in Duhok province. Ankara has targeted the YBS in Shingal several times, killing a number of commanders and fighters.

Pir Dayan Pir Jaafar, head of Duhok province’s migration and crisis office, told Rudaw’s Ayub Nasri that nearly 200 families from the Shingal district’s Dugre area have been displaced to Duhok province. "The number is likely to increase."

He added that they will be settled in Cham Mishko camp near Zakho town.

CALLS FOR DE-ESCALATION
Ali Alyas, the Baba Sheikh (spiritual leader) of Yazidis, called on both sides to keep the conflict away from cities and towns and "resort to the language of dialogue to end the skirmishes," in a statement seen by Rudaw.

"At the same time, we call on the governments of Erbil and Baghdad to find a radical solution to the Shingal region, which is still suffering from the consequences of genocide and the effects of the terrorist campaign of ISIS," the spiritual leader added, calling on the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) to provide "safe havens" to families who have fled the town.

Yazidi genocide survivor and activist Nadia Murad on Monday called on the international community to intervene in the face of recent returnees "once again forced to flee their homes."

The Iraqi government and the KRG signed an agreement in 2020 to "normalise" the situation in Shingal, which includes the withdrawal of all PKK-affiliated forces in the city. The agreement has been rejected by the PKK and its proxies.

Over 3,000 people flee Shingal due to latest clashes: official

[Rudaw] The latest festivities between the Iraqi army and the Death Eaters affiliated to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Shingal have led to the displacement of over three thousand residents to the nearby province of Duhok, the deputy governor of the Kurdish province said late Monday.

Majid Said Salih, deputy governor of Duhok, told Rudaw that more than 600 families from Shingal, consisting of about 3,500 people, have arrived in the province as a result of fleeing the latest fighting between the Iraqi army and the PKK-affiliated, all-Yazidi Shingal Resistance® Units (YBS). "The province's administration has made all the preparations to settle them in the camps," the official added.

The Iraqi army has attempted on various occasions to retake Shingal from the YBS with limited success. On April 18, armed festivities erupted between the Iraqi army and the group, when the latter opened fire on an army convoy that did not stop at a checkpoint in the north of the region.

There have been severe festivities between both sides since Sunday, leading to the death of an Iraqi soldier on Monday.

Iraqi Security Media Cell blamed the YBS for the escalation, claiming to have controlled a number of roads previously held by the militia group.

This is not the first time the people of the Yazidi-majority town have fled their homes. When the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. (ISIS) attacked the town in 2014, the terror group killed and kidnapped thousands of people, with thousands of others displaced to the Kurdistan Region, mostly residing in camps in Duhok.

Ongoing insecurity in Shingal, mostly linked to the presence of several armed forces, has prevented families from returning to their homeland. Around 200,000 displaced Yazidis still live in the Kurdistan Region, many of whom linger in IDP camps and live well below the poverty line.

Africa Horn
Amid Eid celebrations, SNA destroys Al-shabaab extortion centers
[Garowe] Even in the middle of ongoing Ramadan which is set to end on Monday [today], the Somali National Army [SNA] intensified crackdown against al-shabaab murderous Moslems along the southern stretch of the country, where there group has almost absolute control

Reports from the SNA indicate that over the weekend, the elite Danab Special Forces targeted parts of Lower Shabelle region in Southwest state where they activated a series of patrols in pursuit of the krazed killers, who control large swathes of rural central and southern Somalia.

The US-trained commandos raided homes in Leego and Jameo neighborhood where it is believed al-shabaab murderous Moslems have been hiding. The region has largely been affected by the drought conditions and the murderous Moslems have often been sighted by locals.

Mohammed Abdikadir, the commander of 4th Brigade which is in charge of 16th Battalion, said a number of al-shabaab extortion centers were completely destroyed upon leads from civilians who have borne the brunt of al-shabaab terrorists.

According to him, the Danab Special Forces will continue the operation until the military cleared it of the krazed killer insurgency group. The unit is trained by the US Africa Command and has been instrumental in thwarting al-shabaab activities in the country..

But the military did not deliver disclose whether the military managed to arrest or kill al-shabaab murderous Moslems within the vicinity of the region. The unit usually trains on executing such operations in Rural and urban centers besides promoting safety of civilians.

The murderous Moslems had heightened their activities throughout the electioneering period, even targeting senior politicians within the country. Former MP Amina Mohammed Abdi was one of the victims of the krazed killers, who have often been accused of working with government mercenaries.

Extortion has been the main source of income for al-shabaab krazed killers, who often target big businesses within rural and urban Somalia. A report complied by Hiiran Institute, a Mogadishu-based Think Tank, recently revealed that the murderous Moslems run a budget of up to $100 million annually.

Of this budget, sources said, at least $24 million goes to purchase of weapons mainly from uncontrolled markets in Yemen

Jewish man given 5-year sentence for assaulting Arab during 2021 Gaza war
[IsraelTimes] According to indictment, Yaakov Atenau and his friends attacked and injured Ghassan Yahya in the parking lot of a Herzliya mosque

A Jewish Israeli man was sentenced on Monday to five years in prison for taking part in the brutal mob assault of an Arab man in Herzliya during last May’s fighting in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
The Tel Aviv District Court also ordered Yaakov Atenau, who was convicted of intentional and racially motivated vehicular damage and bodily assault with aggravating intent, to pay NIS 5,000 in compensation.

According to the indictment, on the night of the attack on May 12, 2021, Atenau and his friends were in Bat Yam, where a violent mostly peaceful demonstration of Jewish Death Eaters was taking place. Jewish-Arab ethnically motivated violence was tearing through the country at the time, particularly in mixed cities, against the backdrop of the Gaza war between Israel and Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw,.

Atenau and his friends then drove from Bat Yam to the Sidna Ali Mosque in nearby Herzliya. They headed out with equipment for an assault, including batons, hammers, knives and gasoline. The group of Jewish Death Eaters numbered roughly 15.

Upon arrival at the mosque parking lot, they identified Ghassan Haj Yahya, an Arab Israeli resident of Taibe, who was eating the Ramadan fast-breaking meal in his car. The suspects waited for a parked police car to drive away before converging on Yahya’s vehicle, shouting "Arab!" the indictment said.

They then began pelting and hitting him with stones, spraying his face with pepper spray and stabbing him in the shoulder.

Yahya required hospitalization due to the injuries sustained in the attack.

Five other people were indicted for their alleged involvement in the incident.

Hundreds of indictments have been filed against mostly Arabs, but some Jews as well, over the days of rioting in which mobs on each side attacked members of the opposite ethnicity, in a rash of violence the likes of which hadn’t been seen in decades. The tensions were partially fueled by Israel’s conflict with Gaza-based forces of Evil and violent mostly peaceful pro-Paleostinian protests in Jerusalem.

Officers seize 20 handguns from Palestinian gun smugglers in southern Israel
[IsraelTimes] Police arrested two Paleostinian men in southern Israel on Monday morning suspected of smuggling guns from Jordan, confiscating several handguns in the process.

According to police, the two Bethlehem residents in their 30s were caught near Tel Arad in southern Israel, and found to be in possession of 20 handguns.

Police said they suspected the two men were headed to the West Bank with the weapons. Law enforcement officials have previously indicated that guns smuggled in from Jordan are often sold to Arab Israelis, for both criminal and terrorist purposes.

The value of the handguns seized on Monday was estimated at some NIS 500,000 ($150,000), police officials said.

The two Paleostinian men were to be brought before a Beersheba court later on Monday for an extension of their remand.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett hailed the police operation. "We are determined to fight crime in Arab society and collect the illegal weapons. Police have now seized about 20 handguns in the Arad area. We will continue until we cleanse Israel of illegal weapons," Bennett said in a tweet.

The military and police have stepped up efforts to halt smuggling attempts along the Jordanian border in recent months, but officials have admitted that success has been limited thus far.

Unlike Israel’s other frontiers — with Egypt, Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...a strong argument in favor of European colonialism, even French colonialism...
and Syria — its border with Jordan is largely open, often without significant fencing, and is relatively unguarded, making it an easy channel for large-scale smuggling.

Last week, 24 firearms apparently smuggled over the Jordanian border were seized.

Authorities have increasingly sought to crack down on the unmitigated spread of illegal weapons in the Arab Israeli community, which have been used to carry out record-breaking numbers of murders in recent years.

According to the Abraham Initiatives, a non-government group lobbying against violence in the Arab community, last year 125 Arabs were killed in Israel in community violence — an all-time record. Since the beginning of 2022, another 27 have been killed in incidents of violent mostly peaceful crime.

Iranian operatives used fake Facebook account to gather intel on Israeli targets — Shin Bet
[IsraelTimes] The Shin Bet security agency says it has uncovered an Iranian operation that tried to recruit Israeli civilians to collect information on targets in Israel.

The network used a fake Facebook profile under the name "Sara Puppi," who was presented as a young Jewish woman with connections and business in Israel, according to the agency.

The profile had thousands of friends, mostly Israelis. After a connection was established, conversations would continue over WhatsApp, the Shin Bet says.

According to the Shin Bet, Puppi asked Israelis, including Shin Bet officers, to locate information about Israelis who are of interest to Iranian intelligence, as well as Arab diplomats and businessmen in Israel, in return for thousands of dollars as payment.

The Shin Bet says the operators of the profile also used emotional and romantic manipulation to get the information they were seeking.

In addition, the Iranian operators asked Israelis to place an "inciting" banner on billboards against Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
, "with the aim of harming Israel-Russia relations," the Shin Bet says

The agency says it had been monitoring the alleged Iranian operation from the start.

Hamas claims deadly Ariel terror shooting, vows it ‘won’t be the last’
[IsraelTimes] The terror group has repeatedly praised, but rarely taken responsibility for, attacks against Israelis in recent years.

In a rare move, Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",’s military wing grabbed credit on Monday for a terror shooting that left an Israeli security guard dead at the entrance to the West Bank settlement of Ariel on Friday night.

"This operation comes within a series of responses to the defiling of our al-Aqsa [Mosque] and aggression against it," the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades said in a statement.

Sixteen Israelis have been killed in a deadly wave of terror attacks since mid-March. Hamas officials have encouraged and praised the bloodshed, but this is the first time that the terror group has taken credit.

The "heroic, quality" attack "will not be the last one, with God’s help," the Qassam Brigades said.

Hamas’s military wing has rarely issued statements taking responsibility for attacks in recent years. Even when avowed Hamas members committed attacks — such as when an East Jerusalem schoolteacher killed an Israeli in the Old City last January — the terror group praised rather than claimed the killings.

A video that circulated after the attack purported to show that the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a set of gangs loosely affiliated with Fatah, Hamas’s main Paleostinian rivals, had claimed the killing. The claim could not be fully confirmed, however, as the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades have no official channels.

Two Paleostinians — Yusef Assi, 21, and Yahya Marei, 20 — were arrested by Israeli forces in connection with the attack on Saturday from the town of Qarawat Bani Hassan in the northern West Bank. Official Hamas media identified the two as Qassam Brigades members on Monday night.

"[The Qassam Brigades] declare its pride in its fighters, the blessed sons of Qassam in the occupied West Bank, who are still wielding the ’Sword of Jerusalem,'" the terror group said, using Hamas’s name for the May war with Israel.

The victim of Friday’s attack, Israeli security officer Vyacheslav Golev, 23, was laid to rest in Beit Shemesh in central Israel on Sunday. Golev died while shielding his fiancee, Victoria Fligelman, who was on guard duty with him that night.

Tensions between Israel and the Paleostinians have been high for weeks. The deadly wave of terror against Israeli civilians led Israeli security forces to step up their activities in the West Bank to tamp down the violence in early April.

The resulting festivities left several Paleostinians dead. Many were combatants or were claimed by terror groups as members. But some others — such as a visually impaired woman killed in a town near Bethlehem in April — appear to have been unarmed civilians.

Meanwhile,
...back at the buffalo wallow, Standing Buffalo watched the circling Commanches and asked himself What would Geronimo do?...
Paleostinian rioters clashed with Israeli police at Jerusalem’s Temple Mount holy site, which houses the al-Aqsa Mosque. Paleostinians hurled stones at officers, who responded with rubber bullets, sound grenades and tear gas, wounding hundreds.

The violent mostly peaceful scenes at the flashpoint site, Judaism’s holiest and Islam’s third-holiest, sparked fears of renewed war between Israel and the Paleostinians. Despite scattered rocket fire from Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
in mid-April, however, the situation did not immediately deteriorate further.

On Saturday afternoon, Hamas Gaza chief Yahya Sinwar gave a speech laden with threats against Israel that urged Paleostinians in the West Bank to commit terror attacks.

He said that any further Israeli "violations" of the al-Aqsa Mosque would lead to attacks on Jewish synagogues worldwide.

LF hits back at Bassil over electoral spending, calls him 'thief of republic'

Despite its name a Christian party allied with Hizbullah, neither free nor particularly patriotic...
chief Jebran Bassil over the issue of electoral spending, blasting him as the "thief of the republic."

"The thief of the republic and the looter of the people who is to blame for at least $40 billion in electricity deficit over the period of 10 years... lacks a lot of ethics, and this is agreed on by the majority of the Lebanese," the LF said in a statement.

It also reminded Bassil that he is on "an international sanctions list," in reference to the U.S. sanctions slapped on him over corruption-related allegations.

As for Bassil's accusations that the LF has exceeded the allowed limit of electoral spending in its electoral campaign, the LF said: "Discussing electoral ceilings begins after the end of the parliamentary elections, seeing as the electoral expenses are still ongoing, and accordingly the supervisory commission can rule on who exceeded the allowed ceilings and who didn't after receiving all the bills in the wake of the elections."

"Anyhow, the most important electoral supervisory commission is the people, who will say their word on May 6, 8 and 15, so be very prepared," the LF added.

Bassil has on Sunday filed a complaint against the LF and the Kataeb Party, accusing them of exceeding the allowed limit of electoral spending in a "blatant and extreme manner."

Bassil cited the quantity of billboards and unipoles rented by the two parties for their campaigns.

But Trump ruined their plans and postponed everything for five years. Now the plan is back. It's like when they tried for years to invade Iraq, but had to wait until 2003 to start the war.

#5  Invest in weapons manufacturers. They're going to provide some spectacular returns to investors for a few quarters.

Yeah, it was kinda slow for a while after Afghanistan but looks to be gaining steam now.

And, of course, we need regime change in Washington a whole lot more than we need it in Moscow.

But I'm still not sure Tucker has it right. Even with Democrats, it's too much of a stretch to believe they want revenge for the 2016 hacking. They'd crow about it if they got it but I still think they want to control the whole world, spread their sick socialist ideology all over the planet and suck the blood out of ordinary people everywhere. Extending NATO all the way to Vladivostok and getting a seat on the Gazprom board of directors for Hunter would be excellent steps in that direction.

Right now they think Putin is weak, he might be sick and his army is pathetic so they're gonna go for it. Forget the real threat which is China. They're all in bed with the CCP anyway, for now. (The CCP would be wise not to trust them.) They sense opportunity in Russia.

#6  God knows I love a great conspiracy theory, but this one scares me deeply because so many of the events are actually happening:

By lurching incrementally to the edge of war with Russia, the Puppet Show is setting up the possibility of a National Emergency/Martial Law declaration that allows for the suspension of the Mid-Terms, habeas corpus, and those pesky individual rights defined by the Constitution, and effectively ends the Red Wave threat to Imperial Power. Ultimately, it would be the causus belli for civil war, and steps taken in recent history by DHS and the FBI to define the "greatest threat to America" being white supremacists and right wing extremist seems suddenly preparatory.

I can see no other reasoning for the path to nuclear confrontation with a mobilized Russia on a war footing.

Teen girl charged with terrorist act over stabbing of Haifa man
[IsraelTimes] 15-year-old allegedly wanted ’to harm a person of Jewish origin’ in wake of death of Paleostinian said to be her boyfriend

Prosecutors on Monday filed charges against a teenage girl for stabbing an Israeli man in Haifa last month amid a spate of terror attacks.

The 15-year-old was arrested after stabbing and moderately wounding the man on April 15. Police have said her father had alerted authorities of her intentions shortly before the attack.

The minor, whose name is barred from publication, was charged with a terrorist act of aggravated sabotage and possessing a knife for racist motives.

According to the indictment, the teen took an increasing interest in religion and the Temple Mount ahead of the attack, which came hours after Paleostinians and police clashed at the Jerusalem holy site.

It also noted that she had heard the same morning that a Paleostinian she corresponded with had died of wounds sustained while trying to attack Israeli security forces in Jenin.
Hello, groomer!
A report last week identified the Paleostinian as her boyfriend.

At least 26 Paleostinians have been killed in festivities with Israeli soldiers during raids in the West Bank in recent weeks, including the ostensible boyfriend, 17-year-old Shawkat Kamal Abed from Kafr Dan, who was critically hurt on April 14 during festivities with Israeli troops in the town near Jenin, according to Paleostinian media reports.

Prosecutors said that the day of the attack, the girl took several knives from home and told a friend she wanted to die a "martyr" while intending "to harm a person of Jewish origin," which she then set out to do. She allegedly asked her younger brother to film her before leaving and hoped she would be shot as security forces responded.

After reaching a Haifa park, the suspect searched for a Jewish target and upon spotting Aleksi Yisrael Aidelman on a bench, hit him in the head with a brick and then repeatedly attempted to stab him, according to the indictment, which said the 47-year-old victim was stabbed twice.
I’ve read that actually stabbing someone is a lot harder than it looks. I know that learning to give myself subcutaneous shots with a 1/4” needle was traumatic, so trying to harm another must be even more so.
She allegedly yelled out pro-Paleostinian slogans during the attack, such as "Paleostine is ours and will remain ours."

The indictment said that police then arrived at the scene together with the teen’s father, who took the knife from her before officers arrested her.

Aidelman was taken to the hospital for his wounds and was released the next day. The hospital said he suffered several superficial wounds that did not require surgery.

George Orwell Kicking Himself For Not Thinking Of 'Disinformation Governance Board'
[Babylon Bee] HADES—Ever since hearing the news of President Biden creating a 'Disinformation Governance Board', George Orwell has been really kicking himself for not thinking of it first.

"He nailed it, absolutely nailed it," said a dejected Mr. Orwell. "It sounds grimly clinical and impersonal, yet threatening. It really is a much better title than 'Ministry of Truth'. I don't know how, but this Biden guy managed to become more Orwellian than, well, me - George Orwell."

Mr. Orwell also expressed incredulity at the discovery of Nina Jankowicz to lead the Board. "I could have spent a thousand lifetimes and never come up with such a perfect character," said Mr. Orwell. "It's a top-shelf villain name. Then you have the woman deliver vicious pronouncements of what may or may not be spoken by her cheerfully singing to the tune of a children's song—a song famously sung by an omnipotent nanny while the parents are gone? Very twisted. How do they come up with these ideas?"

While feeling that Biden's ideas had been partially plagiarized from his work, Mr. Orwell did give him credit for the very original idea of destroying gender and sexual identity. "Of course, The Party wants to be stronger than family ties, but the best I could come up with was a direct attack on the act of sex itself. These liberals have done me one better, and instead attacked the very reality of humans having a sexual nature as male and female...I just never even conceived of such an audacious attempt to bully people into something so incomprehensible. Well played, Leftists. Well played."

At publishing time, Mr. Orwell was dumbfounded to learn that U.N. soldiers dispatched to war are called "peacekeepers", freedom to speak is considered "racism", and remaining silent instead of voicing agreement with Party beliefs is called "violence".

Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...
's top military commander has been flown out of the war zone with shrapnel wounds after being sent to Ukraine by the Russian president to secure victory, a former Russian internal affairs minister has claimed.

According to Daily Mail, Valery Gerasimov, the Chief of Staff of the Russian army, was on Sunday maimed in Izium in Ukraine's Kharviv region, which has been at the centre of intense fighting since Russia's invasion..

Putin had sent Gerasimov to the region to take personal control of his push to grab territory in eastern Ukraine, after the Russian army abandoned its plans to take Kyiv at the end of March in favour of a concentrated assault on the Donbas region of Donetsk and Luhansk.

An unofficial Russian source reported that Gerasimov sustained 'a shrapnel wound in the upper third of the right leg without a bone fracture.

'The shard was removed - there is no danger to life,' he said.

But Gerasimov's injury was severe enough to have him flown away from the frontlines and back to Russia to undergo further treatment, marking another embarrassing defeat for Putin's forces.

The chief of staff's injury came just one day after Russian Major General Andrei Simonov, 55, was killed in Kharkiv, according to an adviser to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.

He is Russia's ninth general to have been killed since the start of the invasion.

Ukrainian interior ministry adviser Anton Gerashchenko said the precision strike on Izium was "the very place where Gerasimov, who personally came to lead the attack on Slavyansk, was located."

A "large number" of senior officers were killed in the attack which maimed Gerasimov, Gerashchenko said.

Pro-Ukrainian Telegram channel Vertikal also alleged Gerasimov had been “maimed near Izium", citing unspecified sources.

Russia is believed to have sustained heavy casualties in the eastern Donbas region and around cities Kharkiv and Izium, as Ukraine's armed forces continue their bitter defence of the Donetsk and Luhansk territories which have been partially occupied by Moscow-backed separatists since 2014.

Russia's military leaders are pouring troops and equipment into the east of Ukraine in an attempt to force a bloody victory after they abandoned plans to blitz through Ukraine's north and seize Kyiv earlier in the war.

Women trained by former IDF special forces, guard Jewish institutions from Philippines
[Jpost] Moshav was established by 43-year-old Matan Moyal, who served for 20 years in various roles in Israel’s air force and secret service positions.

A former Israeli secret service official has launched an international security venture offering services to Jewish institutions while combining security cameras, artificial intelligence and a control room based in the Philippines.

A security control room in a secret location in the Southeast Asian archipelago nation hosts the most surreal situation: a group of local female observers, wearing yellow T-shirts with the Hebrew word Moshav (village), who were trained by former IDF and Israeli Special Forces personnel, following security cameras in a New Jersey suburb. The two observers discuss whether a group of men running toward a synagogue in the middle of the night are a threat. The New Jersey synagogue is a client of "Moshav" - a new and savvy international security firm.

Confirmed NY POST: Putin to undergo cancer surgery, transfer power to ex-FSB chief
[NY POST] Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to undergo cancer surgery and temporarily hand over power to a hardline former federal police chief, according to a new report.

Putin will transfer control of Russia’s government to Nikolai Patrushev, head of the Russian federal police’s Security Council, while he is incapacitated during and after the procedure, according to a video from the mysterious Telegram channel “General SVR” on Saturday.

The channel — which is purportedly run by a former Russian Foreign Intelligence Service lieutenant general known by the pseudonym “Viktor Mikhailovich” — reported that Putin has been told by doctors that he must undergo an operation.

The anticipated surgery and recovery are expected to incapacitate Putin for “a short time,” according to the unconfirmed report.

“Putin is unlikely to agree to hand over power for a longer period of time,” the narrator of the video states, adding that the control of the country will likely be in Patrushev’s hands for no more than two to three days.

“I will say that this is the worst option,” the narrator adds. “Patrushev is an outright villain. He is no better than Vladimir Putin. Moreover, he is a more cunning, and I would say, more insidious person than Vladimir Putin. If he comes to power, Russians’ problems will only multiply.”

The video follows reporting from Russian investigative outlet The Project, which — in a sizeable report on the strongman’s vigor — claimed he has been seen by a cancer doctor 35 times in recent years. Putin has become so paranoid about his health, the outlet claimed, he has even turned to unconventional, and barbaric, therapies.

Putin is said to bathe in the blood extracted from deer antlers, which are hacked off while they are growing and still full of fresh blood, the outlet said. The sickening “antler baths” are an alternative therapy in the Altai region of Russia, which borders Khazakstan and Mongolia.

Believers say the baths improve the cardiovascular system and rejuvenate the skin, The Project explained.

#1  Colorectal cancer is not a trivial thing, especially if it has metastasized. Couple that with the alleged Parkinson's, and Putin is facing a very rapidly ticking clock.

Bowel resection/colectomy and the resultant need for a (temporary) colostomy are common surgical treatments. But if it spreads to his liver, and bones, he is going to need extensive chemo, and if it gets into the spine/brain, then he will need radiation.

As evil as he may be, I do pray for him because cancer sucks, its horrible, even if you do survive it.

#2  If the Russians launched a nuclear attack on the US, Nikolai Patrushev would prefer the ballistic missile not come across the Pacific making it a target of US defence systems, he would prefer the ballistic missile leave northern Russia, travel over the North Pole, over Canada and into the US target area (DC, NYC) a path unchallenged by US systems.

#12  /\ Interesting observation WU, especially with Vlad reported to be personally taking charge of the management of the combat effort in the Ukraine. Hopefully, he'll experience the same outcomes as our highly vaunted "intelligence community and Foggy Bottom geniuses" experienced in Iraq and Afghanistan. And prior to that, the Johnson and Kissinger White House brain trust "managing" the combat effort in Vietnam.

Believe me when I tell you the big green Army had little to do with the day-to-day strategy of events in either Iraq or Afghanistan.

Kaduna Rally: Nigerian Police Acted In Barbaric, Uncivilised Manner, Arrested 78 Shiites
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

They’re the Shiite version of the Muslim Brotherhood, only beholden to Iran, so they deserved it.
The Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) says that 78 of its members have been arrested by the Kaduna State Police Command and are in its custody over the International Quds Day rally held in Zaria and Kaduna metropolis.

According to the leadership of the group, 70 members were arrested in Zaria while eight were arrested in Kaduna metropolis on April 29, 2022.

The Kaduna representative of the IMN, Yunusa Lawal Musa, who disclosed this at a news briefing held on Monday, said one person was killed when the police attacked the procession.

He described the attack by the police on their members as "barbaric and uncivilised at a critical moment of insecurity and dissensions."

When asked if the action of the police was not borne out of the Kaduna State government’s order proscribing IMN, the front man said the issue of the proscription was still in court, adding that even at that, the Nigerian constitution supersedes any law or verdict by any state.

"The International Quds Day Procession is being observed worldwide on the last Friday of the Holy Month of Ramadan. It is conducted in solidarity and support of the oppressed Paleostinian people at the hands of the Zionist regime of Israel who are forcefully occupying their land," he said.

"The rally/procession took place in virtually all countries of the world including the United States of America, United Kingdom, Germany, La Belle France, Australia, Canada, Ghana, Niger Republic, and in Nigeria in several other states, without any intimidation or attack except only in Kaduna State (Kaduna and Zaria).

"Here in Nigeria, the International Quds Day is being observed for over 37 years running. It is a well-known annual event but alas, on Friday, 29th April 2022, the procession in Kaduna was brutally attacked with live ammunition gunshots and massive teargas, resulting in the cold-blood murder of one Mustafa Abubakar Wagini (28 years old) and seriously injuring nine others.

"Eight people were arrested on their way back home and are now in detention with the police. We view the police action in only Kaduna State as barbaric and uncivilised at this critical moment of insecurity and dissentions. The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (As amended) guarantees freedom of religion as enshrined under Section 38(1) and Section 40.

"It could be recalled, 34 people, including 3 undergraduate sons of Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zazzaky and a Christian faithful were massacred on a similar day in 2014. Army and Police brutality/ attack under the Buhari Regime have been going on during our religious activities; why all these indiscriminate attacks?

"We hereby condemn this act of extrajudicial killings perpetrated by the government. We are calling on all people of conscience to prevail on the government to STOP these attacks and also for the government to unconditionally release the passports of our Leader, Sheikh Ibraheem Ya’qoub El-Zakzaky and his wife Malama Zeenatudeen Ibrahim.

"We are calling on fellow Nigerians to demand for security, justice, equality and freedom. Arise from the slumber and take your fate in your own hands! Oh God! Guide us to the straight path leading to perfection. Peace and blessings be upon those that follow peace and justice."

Is China preparing to invade Taiwan? Beijing orders officials to find ways to protect the nation from western sanctions like those used against Russia

#1  How are they going to replace the chip fabs that will certainly be destroyed by in ChiCom invasion of Taiwan? Their economy will utterly collapse. Plus, it will be open season on Chinese naval vessels and logistics for western submarines and aircraft.

Hard to evade sanctions with your ports blocked. They must be betting on the "Silk Road" projects.

#3  Nationalist Chinese leader Chiang Kai-shek possessed both a military intelligence and merchant, entrepreneurial mind. Having been defeated by the communists on the mainland in 1949. Chiang took the Nationalist gov't to the safe harbor of what is now Taiwan where it has survived and prospered for more than 70 years. Chiang's survival was made possible through assistance from the United States and to a lesser degree, other western nations. That assistance continued until the Chinese Communist bum licking Henry Kissenger (also a skilled military intelligence officer, entrepreneur, and statesman) undertook a policy of rapprochement to the Chinese communists by exploiting the lucrative manufacturing capabilities of the mainland. See Lowes, Target, Best Buy, Home Depot, and our tech giants for more current information.

As long as our box stores and tech community remain the financial engine of the Chinese communists, the US isolation and cold shoulder toward Taiwan (as directed by the communists) will continue.

A Chinese communist invasion of Taiwan or attack on the United States is most unlikely. Chiang Kai-shek used the Straights of Taiwan as his 'great wall' and it has worked splendidly. The money is simply not in an invasion. When dealing with the Beijing or Washington, always first think about the money.

To take it a step further, one of the reasons I feel Donald Trump was removed from office was his open challenge to Kissinger's Chinese communist rapprochement.

#4  Taiwan has indicated there is a plan to blow the bleeding edge chip fabs if the PRC invades. If that occurs then the PRC then has the most advanced surviving chip fabs. They’d also have whatever wasn’t destroyed, access to the records/personnel associated with them. That suggests they could rebuild them faster than the US/EU/etc could build those fabs from scratch.

#5  The problem Xi faces is not sanctions. The problem he faces is the same lying bureaucratic culture that Putin now shows the consequences of. When you failed to make a substantial impact upon the corruption and put 'Yes Men' in key positions, this is the result. The Shanghai "fire drill" situation is a Chinese reflection of the real problem that faces him if he chooses to invade.

Posted by: Skidmark || 05/03/2022 8:42 Comments || Top||

#7  I would if I was China, even if an invasion of Taiwan is not in the cards. China is incredibly vulnerable to sanctions as they are a net exporter of low value goods and they import all the high value ones. On top of that they have the most vulnerable oil supply line in history. A fleet parked off the southern tip of India would cut their lifeline and in 10-12 months 500 million Chinese would be starving.
Posted by: DarthVader || 05/03/2022 8:47 Comments || Top||

#8  China has a big damn upstream of a large chunk of their population. Its a big gamble to think Taiwan would go down without a scorched Earth attack on such a devastating target.

#9  Of course they have "A Plan"....
*Cough* I mentally started snickering at the unintentional pun: PLAN (Peoples Liberation Army Navy)
... the Big Question is how many resources they have currently earmarked and how close to activating. The action to the second part is "More than they had last year..."

The thing is that Chinese Military Thought is big on long-term planning and only attacking if necessary -- as long as they plan on successfully corrupting Taiwan's leaders into a voluntary Anschluss an actual invasion will be a distant second choice. 'Why break your future property?'
Posted by: magpie || 05/03/2022 10:57 Comments || Top||

#10  If China plays the long game then why invade at all? In 100, maybe 200 years things will look very different. A future Taiwan government might beg for annexation.

#12  I see Biden allowing the invasion of Taiwan. What is it a single American ship in the straight. I see Biden failing at nearly everything he and his administration tries. Make a fast buck and leave. Deplete national oil reserves and refill it with what and when. Sell it or give it away at discounts we will never see.

The West is trapped due to sanctions against Russia - The Hill
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] The United States and its allies, which have introduced a series of unprecedented restrictive measures against the Russian Federation, have driven themselves into a trap. This is written by the American edition of The Hill.

The author of the article notes that the sanctions were supposed to “destroy” the Russian economy, however, in reality, the restrictive measures entailed serious costs for those who introduced them.

"The West (the United States and its allies) has actually found itself in a trap," the journalist writes.

The material says that Russia, despite the reduction in exports, managed to increase revenues from the sale of gas and oil, as restrictive measures and a special operation in Ukraine raised world prices for raw materials and energy.

In an interview with an Italian news channel, Sergey Lavrov explained that Ukraine could still have Nazi elements even if some figures, including the country’s president, were Jewish.

"Hitler also had Jewish origins, so it doesn’t mean anything," he said, according to an Italian translation.

In a statement Monday, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid called the remarks "unforgivable and scandalous and a horrible historical error."

"The Jews did not murder themselves in the Holocaust," Lapid said. "The lowest level of racism against Jews is to blame Jews themselves for antisemitism."

Israel’s Holocaust memorial Yad Vashem called the remarks "absurd, delusional, dangerous and deserving of condemnation."

The stern reaction stands in contrast to Israel’s position on the war in Ukraine, where it has tried to maintain a semblance of neutrality. It relies on Russia for security coordination in Syria and has been measured in its criticism of Russia’s invasion. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has also tried mediating between the two countries, though the efforts appear to have stalled.

Prisoner Affairs Committee submits yet another prisoner exchange offer to Saudi-led side
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs has expressed his regret about the intransigence and obstructions by the US-Saudi aggression in the way of any breakthrough in prisoner exchange.

Abdulqadir al-Murtadha said "we had hoped that the month of Ramadan would bring a breakthrough in the prisoner exchange, and we had made many initiatives, but unfortunately the intransigence and obstructions put by the mercenaries prevented that."

He added that "the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
should put pressure on the countries of aggression and their mercenaries, to force them to fulfill their obligations and stop this intransigence and obstructions."

Earlier, the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs submitted a new prisoner exchange offer to the US-Saudi aggression through the United Nations.

"Due to the delay in the implementation of the prisoner exchange agreement, we submitted a new offer to the Saudi-led aggression through the United Nations," the head of the Prisoners’ Committee, Abdulqadir al-Mortadha said .

Biden, in coordination with Portland pols have been targeting patriots, and the Proud Boys specifically for years. Biden personally made them a target during the 2020 debates. Then, following the Antifa murder of Reinoehl, every social media giant purged all accounts containing the word "patriot", making coordination of efforts extremely difficult. Cut off communications, jail leaders on bogus charges, dish out sentences far in excess of any crime committed. Their efforts have been quite successful. Now, with Elon acquiring Twitter and the emergence of new social media platforms, there is an opportunity to regroup. Enter Bidens Department of Disinformation.

Court overturns sentence Dagestan resident who alleged torture
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The Supreme Court of Dagestan declared illegal the sentence of Khanmagomed Isubov, who was sentenced to 3.5 years on charges of involvement in an illegal armed group. He stated that he confessed under torture.

The " Caucasian Knot " has reported that on February 4, security forces searched the house of 18-year-old resident of Khasavyurt Abdul Magomedov and detained him. On February 8, Magomedov was arrested on charges of creating an illegal armed formation and illegal arms trafficking. Magomedov's lawyer said he confessed his guilt under torture. The investigation named Khanmagomed Isubov as the alleged accomplice of Magomedov, who also pleaded guilty and was placed under arrest.

Khanmagomed Isubov was detained in Khasavyurt with two friends in 2010. They were charged with possession of cartridges, F-1 grenades and preparation for participation in illegal armed formations. Isubov did not admit his guilt, he explained that during the preliminary investigation he slandered himself because of physical pressure, and the ammunition found in the house was planted, Dosh writes on May 1.

The appeal ruling, published on the website of the Supreme Court of the Republic, states that the court of first instance in the descriptive and motivational part of the verdict did not indicate the circumstances of the crime committed related to the illegal acquisition, carrying and storage of the F-1 grenade. "At the same time, the court referred to the charge brought by the preliminary investigation body," the act says.

In addition, as the court found, the time, place, method and circumstances of carrying cartridges and grenades were not established in the case. The court also noted that during the search of the house and the verification of testimony, the same witnesses were present at the scene.

"The violations of the criminal and criminal procedure law committed by the court of first instance cannot be corrected by the court of appeal, due to the fact that these violations can be eliminated only during the retrial of the case in the court of first instance," the appeal ruling says.

The Supreme Court overturned the verdict of the Khasavyurt city court against Khanmagomed Isubov, his criminal case was transferred to a new trial in the same court with a different composition.

Iraq
Rocket barrage hit US base in western Iraq Saturday
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] A barrage of rockets has reportedly landed close to an airbase in Iraq’s western province of Anbar, where American military forces are stationed.

Sabereen News, a Telegram news channel associated with Iraq’s Popular Mobilisation Forces reported that at least four BM-21 Grad rockets
...Soviet-developed 122-mm rockets, usually launched from trucks. Newer versions are reported to have a range of up to 30 km....
were launched at the Ain al-Asad Air base, located about 160 kilometers west of the capital Baghdad on Saturday evening.
Now we know what managed to hit Iraq, if not anywhere near the target. Well done, Iranian catspaws!
The Security Media Cell, affiliated with the Iraqi Prime Minister’s office, said that two projectiles fell outside the base, without causing significant losses.

It added that security forces have opened an investigation to find out the circumstances of the incident.

A group calling itself the International Resistance® has grabbed credit for the attack, which is the latest in a series of assaults that have targeted US occupation forces over the past few months.

Gantz designates 4 alleged IS fighters as foreign terrorists, per US request
I’m not sure what this accomplishes — it’s not like the Mossad is going to hunt them down in Africa like they did Eichmann and select other Real Nazis back in the day.
[IsraelTimes] Defense Minister Benny Gantz has designated four alleged Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
senior members as foreign terrorist operatives, his office says.

This is the first time that the Defense Ministry has designated foreign terror operatives at the request of the United States, Gantz’s office says.

The four individuals — Farhad Hoomer, Siraaj Miller, Abdella Hussein Abadigga and Peter Charles Mbaga — are accused of setting up IS cells across the continent of Africa, raising funds and planning attacks.

The four were designated by the United States Treasury as murderous Moslems in March.

"Israel and the United States see the need to fight terrorist organizations, anywhere and anytime," Gantz says in a statement.

"We will continue to work to curb the capabilities of terrorist organizations and their operatives, and we will continue to strengthen our cooperation with partners around the world in the face of those who seek to undermine stability and harm [innocents]."

Day 68 of Invasion; Day 14 of Battle of Donbass
from Militaryland and Understandingwar; source link to former

Russia didn't make any advances and didn't even try to do so except small scale and in isolated places. There was some movement of Russia troops behind their own lines so this may be prep for a new offensive or changing to a hold-the-line strategy.

Ukraine didn't make any substantial counterattack either. This may be partly because Ukraine took heavy casualties in their most recent advance in the Kharkiv region in the north and they may be assessing new tactics.

Ukraine still holds a piece of Mariupol.

#6  It happens a fair amount down here in Texas. I live near a prison here outside Houston and have been asked, "Aren't you nervous?" I researched it and can find no articles about any escapes from the prison. Plus, knowing my neighborhood, any prisoner who did manage to escape is going to run as fast as he can away from our area as it's way too likely they'd get shot by a citizen as opposed to the cops. In reading many of the incidents down here, I've noticed that here, there's very few attempts to hold miscreants for police. If people have to draw, they're shooting to put them down.

Supreme Court has voted to overturn abortion rights, 'leaked draft opinion' shows
[Politico] The Supreme Court has voted to strike down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, according to an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito circulated inside the court and obtained by POLITICO.
She weeps at the leaked draft, not the actual decision.
The draft opinion is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision — Planned Parenthood v. Casey — that largely maintained the right. "Roe was egregiously wrong from the start," Alito writes.

"We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled," he writes in the document, labeled as the "Opinion of the Court." "It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives."
Chief Justice makes no comment. Was it a clerk who leaked the document, or was it an actual sitting Justice ?

#1  Biden's pick of Judge Ketanji Brown to sit on the Supreme court was the administration's first betrayal of the process. The leaked draft decision was the second betrayal.

Retiring Justice Stephen Breyer has nothing to lose. My guess however, is Sotomayor or Kagan. I'd be shocked to learn it was a clerk.

Chief Justice Roberts is likely attempting to find the memory hole exit.

#3  Wrong headline. Overturning Roe v. Wade, not "abortion rights". All this does is send it back to the states and the legislative branch (Congress), which is where it should have been settled long ago, instead of arrogating it to the federal bench.

Its called representative government. And places like NY and California will not see any restric5ttions other than the ones they vote in, same with Texas and Mississippi. A US is a republic that uses a Representative Democracy.

If you don't like it, elect representatives and change it.

Roe v. Wade is completely taken apart in that so-called draft. Its as wrong and defective a judgement as Plessy v. Ferguson, Dredd Scott, Or Pace v. Anderson. Or if you want a gay rights reference of a wrong decision reversed later, of the same vintage, try Baker v. Nelson.

Defective decisions can and should be reversed.

#4  This "leak" is an attempt to pressure the court before the formal decision and opinion are fully decided. It's a blatantly political and despicable move by the left.

Anyone looking up the demographics of abortion will quickly see the data shows this.

Miami is the least affordable place to live in the US as rent prices rocket to $3,000 per month while wages slump due to surge of loaded New York tech workers flocking to the Sunshine State
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Miami is now the least affordable place to live in the United States, new real estate data shows

  • Average rents in the city now rival those in New York and San Francisco after soaring to nearly $3,000 a month this year

  • The mass exodus has spurred landlords in the Sunshine State to hike rents

  • The increase, rental experts say, stems from the mass migration of Big Apple and Silicon Valley tech workers to Florida during the pandemic

  • However, as transplants continue to take advantage of the recent remote work boom and takeover South Florida wages have yet to catch up, statistics reveal

  • A shocking bout of inflation, coupled with lingering effects left by the pandemic, has further limited locals' ability to keep up with rapidly rising rent costs

200,000 Muslims attend Eid prayers at Al-Aqsa compound — Waqf
[IsraelTimes] Moslem officials say turnout is highest in years, mostly from East Jerusalem; Paleostinian arrested for hanging massive Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, banner at holy site

Some 200,000 Moslems attended Eid al-Fitr holiday prayers at the al-Aqsa Mosque to cap off the Ramadan holy month on Monday afternoon, according to the Islamic Waqf.

"There were more worshipers than we’ve seen for Eid al-Fitr prayers in many years," Sheikh Omar al-Kiswani, the holy site’s chief imam, said in a phone call.

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting, prayer and reflection observed by Moslems worldwide. For Paleostinian Moslems, worship at the al-Aqsa Mosque — the third-holiest site in Islam — is a central part of the festival. Jews revere the same hilltop as the Temple Mount, the holiest site in their tradition.

In recent years, Ramadan has often been marked by festivities and high tension between Israel and the Paleostinians. The Temple Mount has emerged as an incendiary battleground; last May, violence between Paleostinians and Israeli forces at the sacred site helped spark a war between Israel and Hamas terrorists.

The Israeli army loosened some restrictions on movement for West Bank Paleostinians in advance of this year’s holiday to allow women, children and some men to pray at al-Aqsa without permits. But the policy had returned to the status quo as of Monday, a Defense Ministry spokesperson said.

Al-Kiswani said most of those who arrived to pray were likely Jerusalemites. He attributes the high turnout to recent festivities at the sacred hilltop, as well the uptick in visits by Jews to the holy site.

"People wanted to send a message that al-Aqsa is the inviolate right of Moslems," al-Kiswani said.

April saw repeated festivities between Israeli police and Paleostinians at the site, with Paleostinians hurling stones at officers on several occasions. Israeli forces responded with sponge-tipped bullets, tear gas and sound grenades, injuring hundreds.

While the majority of Paleostinians attended Friday prayers peacefully and dispersed, others gathered and rolled their eyes, jumped up and down, and hollered poorly rhymed slogans real loud declaring loyalty to the Hamas terror group.

On Monday, Paleostinians unfurled a massive pro-Hamas poster over the archways leading to the al-Aqsa Mosque inside the compound, conveying the terror group’s wishes for a happy Eid al-Fitr.

Police later announced the arrest of an East Jerusalem Paleostinian in his twenties on suspicion that he had hung the Hamas banner.

"We take every act of incitement, threats, support for or identification with terrorist organizations seriously," police said in a statement.

About the evacuation from Azovstal
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin.

[ColonelCassad] 1. All evacuees from Azovstal go through a check of documents and personal data.

2. If there are questions, then such people are delayed until all points are clarified.

3. Nobody will let anyone go without verification. Filtration is a mandatory procedure for everyone who leaves Azovstal.

4. The attempts of the Nazis to dress up as civilians are well known, many of these have already been caught at checkpoints during the fighting in the city.

5. The special services are interested in catching such people - on the one hand, this is the replenishment of the exchange fund, on the other hand, the opportunity to catch those who have been prosecuted in the DPR for war crimes.

6. The official position on the military - either captured or in the ground.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: May 2nd, 2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] 23:48 The EU has finally come close to an embargo on Russian oil. It could be introduced as early as next week. However, a number of obstacles still remain. Read more about this in the article Russia's oil ban: the EU is ready for a solution .

23:46 Russia has developed clear plans for the invasion of Moldova in the near future to open a second front against Ukraine. More details - in the material of the Russian Federation is preparing the capture of Moldova .

23:43 Ukraine will receive another five thousand Javelins by Friday, May 6, said Pentagon Speaker John Kirby.

23:41 The Swedish embassy will resume work in Kiev on May 4, said Foreign Minister Ann Linde.

23:35 The United States currently does not see China providing assistance to Russia in the war against Ukraine, said Permanent Representative to the OSCE Michael Carpenter.

23:33 Another 5,000 Javelin anti-tank missiles will be delivered to Ukraine by Friday, May 6, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said.

23:28 Arestovich said that the first Russian soldier today surrendered to the Legion of Freedom of Russia - Russian volunteers fighting for Ukraine against the Putin regime. Also, the adviser to the head of the OP said that the man who today threw a Molotov cocktail into a paddy wagon on Red Square in Moscow did it with the words "Legion of Freedom of Russia."

23:25 A column of people from Azovstal, released on May 1, today could not get to Zaporozhye, Suspilny was told in the Zaporizhia OVA. It is only known that the column stays on the territory of the region.

23:23 Zelensky said in an evening address that "Russia does things every day that simply exclude any adequacy." This is how he commented on Lavrov's anti-Semitic statement:

“How could such a thing be said on the eve of the anniversary of the victory over Nazism? These words mean that the top diplomat of Russia is transferring the blame for the crimes of the Nazis to the Jewish people. There are no words.

Of course, today there is a big scandal in Israel about these words. However, no one hears objections or excuses from Moscow. They are silent there. So, we agree with what their foreign minister said. After the Russian missile attack on Babi Yar in Kyiv, after the Menorah damaged by shelling at the site of mass executions in Drobitsky Yar near Kharkov, after the death from Russian shelling of ordinary people who survived the Nazi occupation and Nazi concentration camps, such an anti-Semitic attack by their minister means that Russia has forgotten all the lessons of World War II. Or maybe they never learned those lessons.

Therefore, the question is - will the Israeli ambassador stay in Moscow, knowing such a new position of theirs? Will relations with Russia continue as usual? Because this is no coincidence. Not accidental words of the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs - "a great connoisseur of Hitlerism."

23:10 Slovakia will insist on exemption from the embargo on the purchase of Russian oil, said Minister of Economy Richard Sulik. Slovakia is 100% dependent on oil imports from the Russian Federation, therefore, according to Sulik, the preparation of a replacement will take several years.

22:37 The US has "extremely credible" intelligence that Russia will attempt to annex the Donetsk and Lugansk regions "somewhere in mid-May" and create a "Kherson People's Republic," US Ambassador to the OSCE Michael Carpenter said.

22:33 Zelensky in an evening address: "In the near future we expect a new sanctions package from the European Union. This package should contain clear steps to block Russia's income from energy resources. So that a billion euros every day for fossil fuels are not transferred to a terrorist state. But also already Now we should prepare for the next sanctions steps. In any case, we will have to block all export-import operations with Russia. Because without this, Moscow will never understand that international law and peace in Europe must be respected."

22:30 Danilov said that Putin warned Hungary in advance about the attack on Ukraine, and she thought she could "take" part of the Ukrainian territory. "This will never happen, the victory will definitely be ours. And as for Hungary, which behaved this way, we will see what the consequences of this war will be for this country," the NSDC Secretary stressed.

Also, the Ukrainian troops allegedly "equipped firing positions and placed armored vehicles, artillery and MLRS in the schools of Dnipro, Nikolaev, Kramatorsk and Slavyansk."

21:59 The head of Ukrainian intelligence, Kirill Budanov, said in an interview with NV that the Russians have a very strong personnel shortage, so those potential collaborators on whom they staked before the war in many cases did not justify themselves at all.

As for Kherson, according to the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the Russian leadership has two ideas: the re-establishment of the Taurida province, which existed for a short time in the Russian Empire (this is the territory of Crimea, Kherson, partly Nikolayevshchina and a little Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions with an administrative center in Simferopol) , as well as the so-called Heavenly City (Odessa, Kherson, part of the Nikolaev region, Dnieper and part of the Donetsk region). "There was such a concept. I say it again: this is a sick mind," Budanov said.

21:37 After a partial evacuation of civilians from Azovstal, the enemy continues to shell the plant's territory, including buildings where civilians hide from danger. Also, as the Azov Regiment reported, the enemy inflicts air strikes, fires using naval artillery and tanks. However, the fighters of the Azov regiment managed to destroy five invaders.

The CIA is hoping that Russians living abroad will share instructions with their domestic contacts.

20:59 Danilov said that there are trophies in the apparatus of the National Security and Defense Council - maps that Russian troops were supposed to use. According to him, these are old maps of the Kyiv region of 1977, which the Ukrainian military does not use.

20:53 The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry, Kirill Budanov, believes that if Russia uses tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine, there are only two options for ending the war - the collapse of the Russian Federation into three or more parts or a change in the Russian leadership.

20:50 According to some reports, the chief of the Russian general staff personally arrived in Izyum. Why did Putin send him to the front? All the details - in the material Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation in Ukraine - what does it mean .

8 years of Odessa Katyn
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin.

[ColonelCassad] Eight years ago, the Nazis killed several dozen residents of Odessa.

Together with the dead, the old post-Soviet Ukraine burned down with the House of Trade Unions.

After eight years, full-fledged military operations are underway on the territory of the Nazi freak that arose on the site of the burned-out Ukraine. Attempts to coexist with Nazism or to negotiate with him, did not bring results. As usual, he brought war with him.

As usual, Nazism has sponsors in the West who use it to their advantage. Therefore, calls to think again and look at "whom you created and support" do not work. The instrumental approach to supporting Nazism does not require morality, but requires the most familiar hypocrisy and double standards. Therefore, turning a blind eye to the brutality of the Nazis then, all the more easily in the "civilized West" close their eyes to their crimes now.

Therefore, no one can carry out denazification in Ukraine, except for ourselves.

[RIA Novosti] Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the silence of Russian stars who left because of the special operation.

She noted that "without money, their patriotism cannot be stirred up."

"And now I have a question: who of those who have abruptly left now for vacation because of extreme fright, at least once, even briefly said about this (the tragedy in Odessa in 2014) in their programs, Telegram channels and Instagram * accounts?," asked Zakharova, having published earlier statements of the department about the tragedy in the Telegram channel.

She drew a parallel with the trips of Western celebrities to Ukraine.

"Angelina Jolie went to Lviv. Empathize. No one believes in her sincerity. And which of our media personalities, socialites and social activists of all stripes, at least mentioned Odessa? Or won't you raise advertising money for this?" She emphasized.

She also drew attention to the fact that some Russian stars ignored the events in the House of Trade Unions, and the situation in Bucha was "sorted out instantly."

"I don’t believe in their sincerity either. I believe that without money their “real patriotism” cannot be stirred up, and when the Fatherland, without demanding anything from them, just expects decent behavior, they are sharply fetidly frightened," summed up Zakharova.

Earlier, American media reported that American actress Angelina Jolie , who is a special envoy of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees ( UNHCR ), is in the city of Lviv as part of a "personal" visit to the region.

In Odessa, after the coup d'état in Ukraine in 2014, anti-Maidan activists set up a tent camp on Kulikovo field as a sign of protest.

On the afternoon of May 2, brawls began between anti-Maidan activists on the one hand and football ultras from Kharkov and Odessa, as well as Euromaidan participants, on the other. The fight ended with the destruction of the tent city, after which supporters of the coup d'état and nationalists set fire to the House of Trade Unions, in which representatives of the "anti-Maidan" took refuge. The victims of the tragedy that day were 48 people, more than 250 were injured.

International organizations have repeatedly pointed out to Kiev the lack of progress in the investigation of this tragedy and demanded that the Ukrainian authorities punish those responsible for the death of people. The trial in the case is dragging on and the investigation has actually done nothing for eight years to clarify all the circumstances of the tragedy.

Looked like a tanker.
Nothing left but an oil spill.
Wonder where they would use that?

Needs a secondary incendiary charge.

East Jerusalem sheikh indicted for inciting violence in Al-Aqsa Mosque speech
[IsraelTimes] Prosecution asks court to extend Issamat Hamuri’s arrest, citing ’sensitive’ circumstances under which his speech poses a risk to public safety; attorney claims charges political.

A Moslem sheikh from East Jerusalem was indicted on Monday for incitement to violence after allegedly calling for the "liberation of al-Aqsa with weapons and force," in a sermon outside the mosque attended by some 200 people about two weeks ago.

Issamat Hamuri, 56, also hailed Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, military leader Mohammed Deif in the speech, the indictment read.

Some people in the crowd were seen waving Hamas flags as Hamuri spoke, according to reports in Hebrew media.

"There is no choice but to unite Moslem countries and act resolutely to liberate the al-Aqsa Mosque," he was quoted as saying.

"This is not an impossible mission with Allah’s will. The good started at al-Aqsa Mosque and it shall return to al-Aqsa Mosque," he added.

His speech was filmed and distributed on social media, reports noted.

Hamuri’s attorney Rami Utman said in a statement that his client’s arrest was political and that the charges will not stand up in court.

The charges, Utman argued, were meant "to scare people away from visiting the al-Aqsa Mosque."

The prosecution has asked the Jerusalem District Court to extend Hamuri’s arrest until his trial. In its request, the prosecution wrote: "The danger posed by the suspect is increased during this period in time, considering the heightened tension reflected recently in terror attacks across the country and repeated riots in Jerusalem and the surrounding area, some of which took place after the suspect’s speech.

"The suspect’s actions necessarily contribute to fanning the tension and its repercussions at a sensitive time and under circumstances that increase the risk to the public."

The incident took place during the Moslem holy month of Ramadan and just before the Jewish holiday of Passover. The culmination of these two religious events led to increased tension in the capital and especially in the al-Aqsa Mosque compound atop the Temple Mount, where Paleostinian rioters clashed daily with Israeli security and Jews attempting to visit the site.

It is unclear whether Hamuri’s speech had a direct impact on the violence that followed.

In 2020, Arab Israeli holy man Raed Salah
... alternately Raed Saleh, he fancies the title "Sheikh of Al Aqsa" as suitable for the head of the outlawed Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement, the militant arm of the Israeli branch of the Muslim Brotherhood based in Umm al-Fahm in the Galilee. The Southern Branch went in for Israeli politics as part of the Obama-era Arab Joint List project, though their goals are the same. Sheikh Saleh’s role is to cycle in and out of Israeli prisons for cause...
was sentenced to 28 months in prison after being convicted of incitement to terrorism over a 2017 speech in which he praised a deadly attack at the Temple Mount. He was released in December last year after serving 17 months and given a hero’s welcome in his hometown of Umm al-Fahm in the north of the country.

In February, Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked signed an order prohibiting the Moslem holy man from leaving the country.

Government Corruption
Durham unmasks alliance between media, Democrat dirt diggers that triggered false Russia story
[JustTheNews] Durham's argument is straightforward: Attorney-client privilege doesn't apply to materials the campaign distributed widely to third parties.

But his filing also puts the traditional media on notice that when Sussmann's trial on a charge of lying to the FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
begins next month, the unholy alliance between traditional media news hounds and the Democrat machine will be laid bare for the world to see.

And it is clear prosecutors have a clear theory that much of the information spread and then reported by the news media was glaringly weak if not outright false. Durham's filings refer to the Clinton opposition research alternately as a "red herring," "unverified" "too obvious" to be true, or containing a "very weak link." In some cases, those were words used by the very researchers helping assemble the materials.

Yet the traditional media reported it and re-reported it for nearly two years before Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded there was no evidence of a Trump-Russia conspiracy to hijack the 2016 election.

"One of the famous fake news outlets likes to say, 'Democracy dies in darkness.' They're exactly right," former Rep. Devin Nunes, the Republican House Intelligence Committee chairman who helped uravel the Russia collusion narrative, told Just the News. "They're the ones who have created the darkness, and democracy does die. It just happens to be the fake news media that's actually creating this."

#5  Durham releases the obvious. You can't really separate the 2016 from the 2020 election. Toss in big tech and the RINO governors in swing states and Durham will have it about right. Recall this story a month after the 2020 election in American Thinker here. Hillary, the smartest woman in the universe was supposed to win in 2016. The 2020 big steal was the result of the 2016 fail.
