Dark Money‐Not the Grassroots‐Is Behind the Convention of States Organizations
[USSA News] Patriots are rightly concerned that Mark Meckler, lobbyist and President of the Convention of States organizations (COS), has spent tens of millions of dollars spreading misinformation and cajoling State Legislatures into passing applications asking Congress to call a convention under Article V of the U.S. Constitution. Thirty-four States are needed to pass such applications to trigger a constitutional convention, where a new Constitution would likely be proposed, along with an easier mode of ratification. So, who is behind COS?

Meckler tells state legislators that COS is a grassroots movement, funded by thousands of ordinary citizens. In fact, since December, 2017, the COS homepage boasted:

WHO’S BEHIND THIS THING?
The American people. We thought you’d never ask! The Convention of States Project is first and foremost a movement of grassroots citizens who are fed up with business as usual in D.C. We’re funded by thousands of everyday patriots who have committed their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to protecting liberty for future generations.

But Andy Schlafly, attorney and son of conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly, testified at a Pennsylvania hearing on Oct. 22, 2019 against COS’s Article V convention application (@ 11:55):

Schlafly: "...[W]ho’s funding them? Where’s the money coming from? There’s a lot of money behind this. And they’re not disclosing where the money behind this push to change the Constitution is coming from. That should scare everybody in this room. Who are these people who are pushing to rewrite the Constitution? I suspect some of them are globalists, but ask them...it’s not disclosed. And I’m certainly not in favor of allowing billionaires who don’t disclose their identity...[or] their real agenda...to rewrite our Constitution. That’s not a good idea."

Meckler, at the same hearing, feigning outrage, fumed (@ 46:11):

Meckler: "...[W]ho’s funding this? Any of you at any time are welcome to visit our very fancy corporate offices in my house in Texas. In my personal home office off the kitchen, where all the billionaires apparently come visit me. It’s an outrage and a slander. And this kind of slanderous politics takes this discussion to someplace it should not go, which is frankly, it’s just slander, and innuendo. It’s gutter politics. And I don’t believe in it...

#3  Few things frighten me more than the prospect of another Constitutional Convention. For one thing, our political class has gotten a lot stupider and less statesmanlike since 1787. The president of the 1787 Constitutional Convention was George effin' Washington. Who would take his place? AOC? Maxine Waters? Barbara Lee Jordan? For another, the Constitution is built on a series of hard-fought compromises. Today any delegate who proposed a moderate solution would have demonstrators following his kids to school.
Posted by: Matt || 05/08/2022 11:39 Comments || Top||

#4  Before you panic, the Convention only acts like Congress proposing amendment. It still take 3/4 of the state to ratify. Looking at the red/blue map, I doubt if anything has a chance of passing unless it asserts states rights.

Britain
Guilty Secrets and the Fall of the National Health Service in the UK
[USSA News] (These are my views as a woman living in England, on how the culture and spirit of my country has changed over 50 years. Why the country does not feel protected or strong any more, how it has lost, and is losing it values and decency, and how we are daily losing our free speech.)

"But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all. What I tell you now in the darkness, shout abroad when daybreak comes. What I whisper in your ear, shout from the housetops for all to hear! — Matthew 10:26-28

I have a very guilty secret. I have been watching the Johnny Depp versus Amber Heard court case on a daily basis. It is intriguing. I have also followed it up with an analysis by body language experts to see if I agree with their observations. One of whom schools the G7 participants! I have been late for appointments and late going to bed. One could say it has been a massive’distraction’. It has certainly been exhausting.

It is a fascinating insight into how lies and abuse can be so manipulated that an innocent person can be become the villain, and vice-versa. I am now wondering how many people who having watched this have made the correlation of this drama being conducted, into the experiences that we go through in life, and have especially related it to the drama we are all going through now?

Are you a perpetrator, a victim, or a survivor in life from abuse? Or just an innocent bystander? What is the truth? They are hard questions we should all ask ourselves.

After listening to the exhaustive testimony of Johnny Depp without any interruption or cross examining, I thought how fortunate he was to have had the privilege of being able to tell his story. Some people just don’t get the opportunity. It was painful to listen to and yet insightful. Yes, so called ’fact checker’s’ were on hand, and some tried to trip him up and silence him, but on the whole free speech was allowed.

80 ‘Suspicious Actors’ and ‘Material Witnesses’ Under Scrutiny by Jan. 6 Defense Attorneys
[EpochTimes] Court filing suggests entrapment operation run against the Oath Keepers by highly coordinated group

Defense attorneys are seeking to identify and investigate 80 suspicious actors and material witnesses, some of whom allegedly ran an entrapment operation against the Oath Keepers on January 6, 2021, and committed crimes including the removal of security fencing, breaching police lines, attacking officers, and inciting crowds to storm into the Capitol.

In a motion (pdf) and supplement (pdf) filed after 11 p.m. on May 5 in federal court in Washington, attorney Brad Geyer listed 80 people, some of whom he said could be government agents or provocateurs. The people are seen on video operating in a coordinated fashion across the Capitol grounds on January 6, the attorney alleged.

Geyer’s suggestion of an entrapment scheme will resonate with dozens of January 6 defense attorneys, coming shortly after two men were acquitted of an alleged plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer
...Her Excellency, the dictator of Michigan, 2020 Dem VP contender who never got off the ground...
(D). There was a hung jury on charges against two other defendants. The jury in that case was allowed to consider FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
entrapment as a defense.

Geyer, who represents Oath Keepers defendant Kenneth Harrelson, is seeking a court order from U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta compelling federal prosecutors to help identify the individuals and disclose whether they were working for law enforcement or any government agency on January 6. Geyer wrote that the information is exculpatory, which compels the government to produce it. Other Oath Keepers defendants are expected to join in the motion.

The May 5 filing comes on the heels of an April 12 Oath Keepers motion that alleged at least 20 "assets" from the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) were embedded in the crowds on January 6.

Concurrent to the deep dive of 'suspicious actors' how about a full monty and posing the "entrapment" question to FBI Director Wray ?

Make these SOB's come clean !

[Miami Herald] On an island filled with famous watering holes and charming backstories, one bar stands out as a Key West classic.

This year, Sloppy Joe’s Bar is celebrating 85 years of doing business at 201 Duval St., where it anchors a corner at Greene Street and each year hosts a contest to find someone with the beard and the bulk to double as Ernest Hemingway.

A North Georgia Gem
[Garden&Gun] Nestled in the rolling hills of North Georgia, just one hour from Atlanta, lies Barnsley Resort, a 3,000-acre former estate that marries heritage, natural beauty, and world-class outdoor activities. Originally built in the 1840s by British shipping magnate Godfrey Barnsley as a home for his Savannah-born wife, Julia, the resort was designed in a unique walking village layout where guests can choose accommodations in the fifty-five-room inn or one of the luxurious stand-alone cottages—some of which are even pet-friendly. For a perfect introduction to the resort, guests are invited to climb aboard a complimentary bicycle and cruise around the verdant grounds, or meander down the property’s trails that wind along still ponds and over wooden bridges.
While you're in the area, stop by the Savoy.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Biden is a human- and drug-trafficking monster
[American Thinker] Starting on the day he was illegitimately inaugurated, Joe Biden began his joint operation with the drug cartels that control the border between the US and Mexico. By stopping the building of the border wall (and leaving the paid-for supplies to rust in the desert) he declared the border open to all comers, luring thousands of naïve migrants wanting a better life to risk their lives to get here.

But the opened border was open as well to the cartels that traffic in drugs and humans, especially young girls. Biden effectively went into business with the most brutal, barbaric people on the planet. These criminal organizations long ago discovered that they could double the massive profits they rake in from drug smuggling by trafficking human beings.

Joe Biden joined forces with the most lethal criminal organizations on day one of his presidency. He invited disaffected migrants from around the world to flock to our southern border; they would be welcomed he said and indeed they have been, all two millions-plus of them.

Executions by firing squad are beneath this country's dignity
[The Hill] South Carolina’s plan to carry out executions by firing squad was put on hold April 20 by the state supreme court, which granted temporary reprieves to two men who had elected that method under a state law requiring that condemned inmates choose either the firing squad or electrocution.

Forcing such a choice adds a sadistic element to execution’s cruelty and inhumanity. Being required to select a method of being killed is ghoulish and horrible.

As bad as the fact of choice is, the inclusion of the firing squad makes this legal requirement even worse. Execution by firing squad is beneath the dignity of any civilized nation.

Austin Sarat is the William Nelson Cromwell Professor of Jurisprudence & Political Science at Amherst College and the author of “Lethal Injection and the False Promise of Humane Execution.”...so there is no method this tool won't object to

#6  Compared to the electric chair or a botched lethal injection, a firing squad is very humane.

I would rather take that as when several high caliber rounds go through the heart and center chest, the body immediately goes into shock and the person is out of it almost instantly. Death follows seconds later. Nice and quick.

Putting any hideous, sadistic murderer peacefully to sleep is not punishment or justice.

Such people need a mental and physical deterrent.

Whether it be Sparky, swinging and kicking, or airing out, each make a real deterrent.

I myself believe and support a simple execution standard, called "Execution In Kind" by some.
Using the method of execution that the Murderer used to kill his/her victim(s). It is no more cruel and unusual to the Murderer what was used.

Government Corruption
Biden's Thug Government
[National Review] The Democrats don’t care about politically motivated violence, American institutions, or the Constitution.

If Democrats and other Trump obsessives are really wondering why much of the country couldn’t care less about the Capitol riot, they need look no further than the Biden administration’s disgraceful response to the criminal leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion in the Dobbs abortion case, and to the intensifying threats from the radical Left that endanger the justices, their families, and the Court as an institution.

It is worse than a nonresponse. It is worse than a reckless response. The Biden administration and Democratic Party activists are complicit in the extortionate, norm-busting, burn-it-down id of the woke progressivism they extol.

It is thug government.

Fifth Column
Radical Abortion Activists Gather Outside Supreme Court Justices' Homes
[Breitbart] A group of radical pro-abortion activists gathered outside the homes of multiple U.S. Supreme Court Justices on Saturday to protest the Court’s expected decision to repeal Roe v. Wade.
Radical activists means the latest front grouo of the Black Bloc anarcho-communist syndicate funded by the usual supsects, of which Antifa and BLM are only two more recent examples.
According to a draft opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito leaked to the media on Monday, the Court is poised to overturn the landmark abortion rights case.

Protesters have taken drastic measures, like blocking church entrances and now showing up on the doorsteps of Supreme Court Justices’ homes.

Protesters marched in front of Chief Justice John Roberts’ home and reportedly chanted, "Keep abortion safe and legal." Other chants included, "Pro-life is a lie, you don’t care if people die."

Protesters also drew images of hangers in chalk on the street in front of Roberts’ home.

Israeli embassy in New Delhi said on high alert amid ‘serious’ fear of Iran attack
[IsraelTimes] Security measures tightened, surrounding streets patrolled closely as site is ’likely target’ for militias backed by Tehran, says report in opposition Iranian news channel.

The Israeli embassy in New Delhi has been on high alert in recent weeks amid "serious" fears of a possible terror attack by Iran-backed perpetrators, according to a report Saturday by a London-based news channel affiliated with the Iranian opposition that was picked up by Hebrew-language media.

Security measures have been tightened in areas surrounding the embassy in the Indian capital and nearby streets have been outfitted with surveillance cameras and subject to increased security patrols, according to the report in Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
International.

The Persian-language TV channel described the security alerts as "serious" and cited an unnamed Israeli source who said the embassy in New Delhi has become one of several "likely targets" for Iran-affiliated militias.

The source also said Indian police and counter-terror forces recently conducted a security drill to prepare for a possible attack where streets around the diplomatic mission were blocked, and gunfire and explosions could be heard.

The news came a week after the same news outlet reported that Israel’s Mossad spy agency foiled a recent Iranian attempt to assassinate an Israeli diplomat working at the consulate in Istanbul.

Iran International said that in addition to the Israeli worker at the consulate, an American general stationed in Germany and a journalist in La Belle France were also targeted in the plot.

Last year, a blast outside the Israeli embassy in New Delhi damaged cars but caused no injuries, in an attack India has said was carried out by the Quds Force branch of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

A letter found close to the scene of the blast was a death threat to the Israeli ambassador that warned he was being constantly being watched and vowed to avenge the deaths of "deaders" Qassem Soleimani
, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) commander who was killed in a January 2020 United States dronezap; Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, a top Iraqi militia commander who was killed along with Soleimani; and Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, the architect of Iran’s nuclear program, killed in a November 2020 attack Tehran has blamed on Israel.

Pakistan ‘rules out’ refugee status for Afghans
[Dawn] Pakistan has ruled out refugee status for Afghan asylum-seekers but is facilitating their stay and onward journeys to destinations in the West, the Voice of America (VOA) broadcasting service reported on Saturday.

Another VOA report said that the United States was giving Ukraine 16 Mi-17 helicopters that were meant for Afghanistan.

Pak officials said that since the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
takeover, more than 100,000 urban Afghans have arrived in the country on valid visas.

"They are largely vulnerable Afghans seeking to move to the US and other Western countries under refugee resettlement programmes," the report added.

It quoted Pakistain’s ambassador to Kabul Mansoor Ahmed Khan as saying that every day the mission was issuing 700 to 1,000 multiple entry visas to Afghans. "We are issuing visas to Afghans more liberally than any other neighbouring country or any other country in the world. We are doing so to help address Afghans’ humanitarian concerns," Mr Khan said.

"But if they (Afghans) want their status to be converted into a refugee status, that will not happen nor will we allow it," he said. "We simply don’t want an increase in refugees."

Many asylum-seekers said they would prefer to stay in Islamabad while waiting for their visas for destinations in the West, instead of returning to Afghanistan.

The other VOA report pointed out that the US Department of Defence (DOD) notified Congress in January that it intended to give the Ukrainian government five of the Russian-built helicopters, which had been undergoing maintenance at a Ukrainian facility.

"Ukraine accepted these excess defence articles on March 11," the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) noted in its quarterly report submitted to US politicians this week. SIGAR is a US government agency charged with monitoring Afghan events.

Iraq
The army has controlled about 20 checkpoints in Shingal: Iraqi official
[Rudaw] Iraqi army has recently been able to control up to 20 checkpoints in the Yazidi heartland of Shingal, an Iraqi national security advisor told Rudaw on Friday. The development follows weeks of festivities between the army and the militia group affiliated to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the district.

Saeed al-Jaiashi, strategic affairs advisor at the Iraqi National Security Advisory, stated that the situation in Shingal has entered "a new stage" as the recent festivities between the army and the PKK-affiliated Shingal Resistance® Units (YBS) has resulted in the removal of several checkpoints previously held by the YBS.

"Ten to 20 checkpoints have fallen to the control of the army, in addition to six checkpoints on the borders that have also been controlled by the Iraqi army," Jaiashi told Rudaw’s Fuad Rahim on Friday.

The Iraqi army has been attempting to fully re-control Shingal since April 18. The YBS controlled parts of Shingal months after it was invaded by the Islamic State

(ISIS) turbans in summer 2014. Clashes between the army and the all-Yazidi force escalated on May 2 and the following day, leading to the death of a soldier and a holy warrior. The situation has been calm since late Tuesday but people fear that the tensions could escalate any minute.

The Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) signed an agreement in 2020 to "normalize" the situation in Shingal whichs asks for the withdrawal of all armed forces and asks for the establishment of a force from locals to replace them. The agreement has been rejected by the PKK and its proxies.

The KRG has claimed that Baghdad has failed to implement the agreement.

The advisor claimed that 70 percent of the security aspect of the agreement has been completed "on the ground" as Iraq’s interior ministry has successfully recruited 2500 coppers from the people of the city but Baghdad has failed to pay their salaries.

He said once the newly-recruited coppers are paid, they will replace the army and the army will retreat to the vicinity of Shingal and the bordering areas.

The tensions have once again displaced Shingal residents to the Kurdistan Region’s Duhok province. Hundreds of thousands of them were displaced to the Kurdistan Region when ISIS attacked the district.

Pir Dayan Pir Jaafar, the head of Duhok province's migration and crisis office, told Rudaw on Friday that 711 families, consisting of 10,261 people, have been displaced from Shingal to Duhok province since May 2.

Jaiashi said families have begun returning to Shingal.

US sentences Asaib Ahl al-Haq former member to four years in prison
[Rudaw] A former member of an Iran-backed Shiite militia group was sentenced to four years in prison by the US on Friday for "lying" to US officials during his immigration application process, announced the Department of Justice late Friday.

The 36-year-old Chasib Hafedh Saadoon al-Fawadi, an Iraqi who lives in New York, was sentenced to 48 months in prison after allegedly admitting to submitting false information to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services while applying for permanent residency in the country in 2017, stated the US Department of Justice.

Al-Fawadi had previously denied being a member of any groups engaged in violent mostly peaceful activities, but was later revealed that he had been a member of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq (AAH) militia group until he migrated to the US in 2016, according to the Department.

Asaib Ahl al-Haq is part of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF or Hashd al-Shaabi), an umbrella group of Shiite paramilitary forces that was formed in 2014 to fight the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. (ISIS) under a fatwa from Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani. A number of forces within the umbrella group are backed by Iran.

......sinister-looking Iranian stooge, Secretary General of Persian proxy militia Asaib Ahl al-Haq, wannabe Nasrallah......
and Laith al-Khazali as terrorists.

The statement added that as a part of the murderous Moslem group, al-Fawadi had travelled to Syria in 2013 to engage in combat operations that supported the Syrian regime. "Al Fawadi concealed his travel to Syria, Iran, and Jordan when he applied for refugee classification and again in his application for permanent resident status," read the statement.

The former member of the AAH claimed during his immigration application that he was being persecuted by the AAH for refusing to help the murderous Moslem group in kidnapping Sunni citizens of Iraq.

Investigation into al-Fawadi’s case by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI

Israel extends closure on West Bank, Gaza as hunt for Elad terrorists continues
[IsraelTimes] IDF issues orders to raze homes of two turbans who killed guard at Ariel settlement; families can appeal decision.

According to COGAT, security officials will meet again on Sunday night to assess whether to maintain or end the closure.

The shutdown only applies to Paleostinians. Checkpoints used by Israelis and foreign nationals to enter and exit the West Bank will remain open as usual.

Most of the Paleostinians impacted are those who hold permits to work in Israel. About 140,000 West Bank Paleostinians work in Israel and in Israeli settlements. Another 20,000 Paleostinians from Gazoo

hold permits to work in Israel.
The search for the suspected snuffies expanded from the area immediately around Elad to also include a number of nearby Arab communities and the area of the West Bank security barrier.

A senior police official told the Ynet news site on Saturday that "as the hours go by, we are focusing more efforts on intelligence, even though we are still continuing our searches with large forces on the ground and in the air."

The report said security services were hoping that Paleostinian suspects As’ad Yusef As’ad al-Rifa’i, 19, and Subhi Emad Subhi Abu Shqeir, 20, would soon make an error and expose their whereabouts. Both are from the village Rumana outside Jenin in the northern West Bank.

Suggested scenarios included the two moving to a new location, or seeking assistance from relatives or local residents.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iranian who allegedly confessed to plotting hit on Israeli says he was coerced
[IsraelTimes] After reports Mossad interrogated IRGC member inside Iran, Mansour Rasouli says he was tortured into saying he was involved in liquidation plot, but that none of it was true

An Iranian man has denied reports he was involved in an attempt to assassinate an Israeli diplomat in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
and two other individuals, saying he was tortured and forced into a false confession.

Earlier this month several Hebrew media outlets reported that Israel’s Mossad spy agency detained and questioned Mansour Rasouli, a member of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, in Iranian territory.

On Saturday new video footage emerged purportedly showing Rasouli confessing during an interrogation at his home in Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
that he was sent to target the Israeli diplomat working at the consulate in Istanbul, as well as an American general stationed in Germany and a journalist in La Belle France.

Channel 13 news said the video had come from Mossad itself, though it did not cite a source for this claim.

Meanwhile,
...back at the game, the Babe headed for second base. He almost made it. Then Sheila slapped him....
a video aired by the London-based Iran International, an Iranian opposition news outlet, showed Rasouli denying the confession was true, asserting that it had been coerced from him by kidnappers.

"Criminals kidnapped me...they put a bag over my head and took me to an unknown location," he said in the video.

"They told me they’d kill me and my family and tortured me severely. They told me I had to say everything they told me — that I was an emissary of the Revolutionary Guards and that I was sent to kill people in Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and Turkey.

"I deny it all of course."

Last week an audio recording said to be of Rasouli, 52, was broadcast by Israeli television networks, along with his picture. "We will assassinate these three for the Islamic Theocratic Republic. They insisted this would be carried out," a man’s voice was heard saying in the recording.

The TV reports provided no source for the audio recording.

Channel 12 news added, without citing a source, that the Shin Bet security agency — which generally operates only within Israel and the Paleostinian territories — also participated in the detention in Iran.

Rasouli was released after the interrogation, the reports said. "I made a mistake, from here on out I won’t take any move regarding this, I swear," he was said to add.

In February, it was reported that Mossad helped foil 12 plots to carry out terror attacks on Israelis in Turkey over the past two years, most of the plots linked to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. jihadist group.

Last year, Ottoman Turkish intelligence reportedly thwarted an Iranian plan to assassinate an Israeli-Ottoman Turkish businessman who lives in Istanbul and owns an engineering company specializing in aerospace technology.

The planned hit was to be a retaliation for the killing of Iranian nuclear chief Mohsen Fakhrizadeh in 2020, widely attributed to the Mossad, the reports said, as well as a means to hinder warming relations between Ankara and Jerusalem.

...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
following the arrest of a group of suspected al-Qaeda turbans killed at least a dozen people, including two force commanders, officials said.

The officials said the fighting took place late Thursday at the headquarters of the so-called Security Belt force in Dhale province.
.
The Security Belt is a militia trained and funded by the United Arab Emirates and loyal to the secessionist Southern Transitional Council. The force is active in Yemen's southern provinces.

The militia reported that Col. Waleed al-Dhami, deputy commander of the Security Belt, and Col. Mohammed al-Shoubagi, commander of the government's counterterrorism unit in Dhale, were killed. It did not offer further details.

The security officials said the nearly hour-long firefight erupted when troops asked the turbans to hand over their weapons. The turbans refused and shot up the troops, according to the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief news hounds.

Eight turbans and four security forces were killed in the fighting, including the two commanders, they said. There were a number of maimed troops who were taken to a hospital, the officials added.

Afghanistan
The National Resistance Front to Reassume the Control of Sections of Panjshir Province; “Nu uh,” sez Taliban
[KhaamaPress] The Resistance® Front claims that operations in Panjshir have resumed, with their first operation claiming sections of the province.

The Resistance® Front’s front man, Sibghatullah Ahmadi, tweeted last night, May 7, that the districts of AbdullahKhel and Abshar, with the exception of their centers, had fallen to the Front.

He also labeled all of the Resistance® Front’s held territories as crucial and strategic, noting that the district centers were under siege and that the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
had asked more time to surrender.

The operation was carried out as the Taliban Red Unit was conducting house-to-house searches in the two districts, according to the front man for the Resistance® Front.

The operation has killed 13 Taliban fighters, and Ahmadi claims that five of their armored vehicles have been destroyed.

Mr. Ahmadi further said that the Resistance® Front forces had also taken control of the Doab checkpoint. Nine Taliban members were killed and six others were maimed during this phase of the liberation operation.

Former Taliban security chief for Panjshir province Abdul Hamid Khorasani has dismissed the Resistance® Front’s assertion as a fabrication.

The response:
Islamic Emirate Denies Clashes in Panjshir

[ToloNews] The Islamic Emirate denied the festivities between the Islamic Emirate and the Resistance® Front’s forces in the central province of Panjshir.

A front man for Panjshir’s governor, Abubaker Sediq, said there was a small amount of gunfire but the situation was controlled by the Islamic Emirate.

"We deny this allegation. This is a plot by some biased individuals. This is not true. There was a small amount gunfire yesterday evening in the Abshar area by the opponents, but the Islamic Emirate controlled the situation," he said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the wrecked scow, Agent 49 felt gingerly for his head. It was still there. He had been hoping differently...
the Resistance® Front claimed that festivities are still underway in Abshar district of Panjshir province, and they have overrun several areas.

"An extended region of the Panjshir province, including a large part of Abdulah Khail and Abshar valley, fell to the resistance (forces)," said Sebghat Ahmadi, a front man for the Resistance® Front.

This comes as reports of festivities between the Islamic Emirate and the Resistance® Front in Panjshir have been posted on social media.

The Islamic Emirate’s front man, Zabiullah Mujahid, denied the reports and called them speculation.

"There have been no security incidents anywhere. The enemy published some propaganda on Facebook and Twitter. But the truth is (Look out! Whopper coming! that a strong troop presence exists there (Panjshir) and nothing will happen," Mujahid said.

However,
there's no worse danger than telling a mother her baby is ugly...
there has been no video footage of festivities between the two sides in Panjshir.

Islamic Emirate Announces Rules for Women’s Covering
Raising the temperature under the cooking pot full of frogs, as predicted.
[ToloNews] The Islamic Emirate announced new rules regarding women’s covering or hijab on Saturday, saying it will be implemented in two steps -- encouragement and punishment — and defining the types of dress that women will need to wear when stepping out of home.

The plan was confirmed by Mawlawi Hibatullah Akhundzada, the supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate.

"If a woman doesn't wear a hijab, first, her house will be located and her guardian will be advised and warned. Next, if the hijab is not considered, her guardian will be summoned. If repeated, her guardian (father, brother or husband) will be imprisoned for three days. If repeated again, her guardian will be sent to court for further punishment, the plan reads," said Akif Mahajar, a front man for the Ministry of Vice and virtue.

A statement from the Vice and Virtue Ministry of the Islamic Emirate reads that hijab is an obligation in Islam and that any dress that covers the body can be considered as hijab given that it is not "thin and tight."

When it comes to the type of the covering or hijab that women will need to wear, the statement says that burka is the best type of hijab/covering "as it is part of Afghan culture and it has been used for ages." It adds that another preferred type of hijab is a long black veil and dress that "should not be thin or tight."

The statement, called "the descriptive and accomplishable plan on legitimate hijab," also instructs women not to step out of home unless it is necessary, calling it one of the best ways of observing hijab.

The plan was announced by the Ministry of Vice and Virtue on Saturday at a presser in Kabul.

The rules were published in a two-page statement and were approved by a seven-member team whose names and signatures are on the second page.

The plan, according to the statement, will be implemented through encouragement and punishment. The statement says that the benefits of wearing hijab need to be introduced to the people by media and mosques. Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch cautiously raised his hat over the edge of the horse trough on the end of a stick......
it says that messages about hijab should be written on banners in markets and other public places to encourage the people.

According to the new plan, if a woman doesn't wear a hijab, first, her house will be located and her guardian will be advised and warned.

Next, if the hijab is not considered, her guardian will be summoned. If repeated, her guardian (father, brother or husband) will be imprisoned for three days. If repeated again, her guardian will be sent to court for further punishment, the plan reads.

The statement also said that female public employees will be fired if they don't wear hijab.

Male public employees will be suspended from their jobs if female members of their families do not wear hijab.

The acting Minister of Vice and Virtue, Khalid Hanafi said: "This plan will be implemented and put into practice."

The Islamic Emirate’s front man, Zabiullah Mujahid, said they have paid sacrifices over the past two decades to implement Shariah law.

"The current world or the Western world wants to interfere so that we do not implement Sharia although our nation is Moslem," he said.

Turkish-Backed SNA Shells Villages In Aleppo

Turkish military and Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, known as Syrian National Army (SNA), shelled on Saturday residential villages in the northern countryside of Aleppo, north Syria.

For about a week, the Turkish military and the SNA have intensified shelling of the area.

Forty-two villages and five camps in Aleppo northern countryside house Afrin IDPs who fled their homes in 2018 following a Turkish incursion on the pretext of driving out Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) and secure its southern border.

The Turkish military operation was called “Olive Branch” which lasted for two months and led to the killing and injury of hundreds of YPG fighters and civilians in addition to the displacement of about 300,000 to Aleppo northern countryside.

The villages of Neirabiyah, Tel Jijan, Tel al-Madiq and Ziwan were affected by the shelling, a military source from the area told North Press.

The shelling spread a state of fear among the residents.

Syrian government forces and a Russian military base are present in the area.

On Friday, the Turkish shelling on Ziyara village in the same area resulted in the killing of two government soldiers and the injury of two others.

Meanwhile, the government forces, stationed in Tel Rifaat town in Aleppo northern countryside, responded to the shelling and fired rockets at Turkish forces and their affiliated SNA factions, a local source said.

Unidentified Gunmen Kill SDF Member In Deir Ez-Zor

Unidentified gunmen deadly shot on Saturday a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.

Unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle fatally shot a member of the SDF near the junction of al-Hariji village in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, a military source in the SDF told North Press.

Two armed groups affiliated with Syrian Security Services exchanged detaining members in Suwayda

Two groups affiliated with the Syrian security services in Suwayda detained on Saturday 33 citizens at their checkpoints on the pretext of stealing a car, amid a state of tension in the area.

An armed group affiliated with the Syrian Military Intelligence, led by the so-called Raji Falhout detained 26 citizens of Suwayda’s Bedouin tribes with their cars, local sources told North Press.

According to the sources, the detention came to pressure the tribes of Suwayda to return a car stolen by Bedouin young men living in the west of the governorate.

Falhout leads an armed group affiliated with the Syrian Military Intelligence, and he is accused by residents of kidnapping, theft and murder cases.

Meanwhile, and in response to al-Falhout’s detention of Bedouins, another group, from the Bedouin tribes, affiliated with the Military Security, blocked the road leading to the Dahr al-Jabal area, east of Suwayda.

The young men set up a checkpoint in al-Maqous neighborhood and prevented cars from passing. The also detained seven citizens of Suwayda while returning from their farms in the Dahr al-Jabal area, civilians told North Press.

Social and civil activities, in cooperation with media platforms, are working to resolve the problem in an attempt to prevent the strife being stirred by the security services in the governorate.

Iraqi army aircraft bombs a vehicle carrying ISIS militants in Nineveh

The Iraqi army's aircraft destroyed a vehicle carrying members of the ISIS murderous Moslem group in Nineveh, a blurb by the Security Media Cell (SMC) revealed in a statement on Saturday.

SMC said that vehicle was spotted near a tunnel in the south of al-Hadar Island, Nineveh.

"Immediately, a formation of the army airforce heroes took off for the mission. Upon reconnaissance, the vehicle attempted to escape. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
the aircraft managed to bomb the vehicle, burning it completely and killing all the passengers," SMC concluded.

Given the 2020 Coup, the moral oddities in charge. and clear dictatorial control of the DOJ and other investigative agencies. What if, Biden's puppet masters announced a National Emergency and suspension of Constitutional Rights, Freedoms?

They have already instituted:
* Gun Control,
* Ammo Control,
* Fuel/Energy Distribution Control,
* Environmental Control,
* Military Control,
* Media Narrative Control,
* Food Supply Controls and limitations,
* Business Operational Control,
* Eliminated Deficit spending Controls,
* Taken control of the Medical Field,
* Control the switch for Racial Warfare,
* Control and allow a Political Paramilitary,
* Setup alternative voting methods to allow continued political control.
* and setup processes to divide America against itself.

Given the partial list above, it seems we are overdue in using Constitutional processes and legal methods to flush the DC Swamp that has reached too deep and control too much of our daily lives.

But what are those legal process/methods to flush the DC Swamp and keep it from returning?

#4  Gun control? Gun control laws have loosened in recent years in half the states, with more queued up in various state legislatures, and according to the Washington Examiner, we are nearing three full years of monthly sales of more than 1 million guns — and FBI background checks show near the one million mark for the representative month of April every year since 2013.

As for media narrqtive control, it’s there if one relies exclusively on the mainstream media, but how many still do?

And given those two facts alone, announcing a national emergency will be ineffective. A great many bridges were burnt by the Covid shutdown, it seems to me.

#7  Announcing a national emergency would have little influence - but that's of little concern to the regime. All they require is for the proper levers of govt to be thrown in order to give them cover to do what it is they intend to do. They will be leveraging our own deference to the US Constitution against us even as they crush the last remaining vestiges of the Republic.

Person wanted for killing a military officer blew himself during arrest

Iraq's Security Media Cell (SMC) confirmed that a person wanted for ties to the liquidation of the Intelligence department chief in the Somar Operations Command had blown himself when the security forces closed in to make an arrest in Dhi Qar earlier today, Saturday.

According to SMC, a joint force from the Special Forces, al-Shatra Police Department, the fifth Emergency Regiment of Dhi Qar, and al-Shatra's field Security and Intelligence Bureau, proceeded with executing an arrest warrant against Hakim Karim Hamidi, a resident of Bani Zeid Al Uday, on Saturday.

The SMC blurb that Hamidi -who has light and medium arms, in addition to hand grenades in possession- used his family members as human shields.

"The security forces cordoned his residence and managed to separate his wife and children from him with the utmost professionalism," SMC said, "the defendant then detonated a hand grenade, killing himself immediately and injuring two officers from the force on duty."

Earlier today, a source told Shafaq News Agency that a person linked to the liquidation of a senior military officer went kaboom! on the way to the cop shoppe in al-Shatra after his arrest.

The arrestee, according to the source, lodged a first hand grenade toward the security members, injuring four, including two officers, and used a second grenade to kill himself.

Controversy in Canada over resident's alleged Palestinian terrorism ties
[Jpost] Khalid Barakat, who resides in Vancouver, has been named by Israeli intelligence services as a leader of PFLP, and is connected to the PFLP affiliated NGO Samidoun.

The status of a man living in Canada alleged to be a senior member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine terrorist organization has become the topic of concern for the Canadian Jewish community and the subject of debate in the Canadian Senate after an exposé by The National Post.

Khalid Barakat, who resides in Vancouver, has been named by Israeli intelligence services as a leader of the PFLP, the Post’s Terry Glavin reported. Barakat has also been described as such by Paleostinian news outlets, and at times, on the PFLP website. Supporters assert that he is a maligned Paleostinian rights activist.

DEBATE IN CANADA'S SENATE
"Khalid Barakat has been barred from the United States, he has been barred from Germany, yet the Trudeau government still allows this individual to remain in Canada, despite a Canadian law that forbids any individual with connections to terrorist organizations from entering our country or receiving Canadian Citizenship," said Sen. Leo Housakos in a debate with Sen. Marc Gold, the representative of the government in the Senate. "Why does your government allow him to remain in the country?"

Housakos, a member of the opposition Conservative Party, said, "I’m aware of this individual, you’re aware of this individual, I think it is high time that we make the government aware of the inherent dangers of this individual. Bnai Brith Canada has been raising this issue with your government for some time. They’ve provided intelligence about Barakat’s whereabouts in Canada as well as his involvement with this designated terrorist organization. While in Canada, Barakat has published articles in which he calls for targeted terrorist attacks to be carried out against Israel and other Zionist targets beyond the Middle East."

CONNECTION TO SAMIDOUN
The National Post also highlighted Barakat’s connection to the NGO Samidoun Paleostinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, which is listed by Israel as an affiliate of the PFLP. Despite the ostensible connections to the PFLP, Samidoun is a registered not-for-profit corporation in Canada. Barakat’s wife is listed as one of Samidoun’s Canadian directors, Glavin reported, but Samidoun insisted that Barakat was not a member.

Following the exposé, Samidoun released a statement saying it "condemns in the strongest terms the smear campaign targeting Paleostinian Canadian leftist writer and community organizer Khaled Barakat as well as the work of Samidoun, by the right-wing National Post, intentionally forwarding the agenda of pro-Israel lobby organizations in Canada."

The Center for Israel and Jewish Affairs said in a statement, "The links between the PFLP, a listed terrorist entity in Canada, and Samidoun are clear. We reiterate our calls for Public Safety Canada to list Samidoun as a terrorist entity."

Mostyn said, "Samidoun also needs to be decertified as a corporation immediately, and it should never have been certified in the first place."

Glavin reported that Samidoun’s partner organization in La Belle France, the Collectif Paleostine Vaincra, was disbanded by government decree.

A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE
Samidoun was affiliated with the April 25 rally in Toronto in which protesters cheered breaking news of rocket attacks on Israel and praised the deadly terrorism wave that recently gripped the Jewish state. Speakers expressed a desire to destroy the state and claimed that Jews had no connection to the Temple Mount.

The PFLP is a Marxist Paleostinian terrorist organization founded in 1967. Notable members include Rasmea Odeh and Leila Khaled. In October, several NGOs besides Samidoun were listed as affiliates of the organization. The National Post noted that a 2014 PFLP terrorist attack in Jerusalem killed a Toronto-born rabbi, Howie Rothman.

Unknown Warplane Targets Iranian-Backed Militias In Deir Ez-Zor

Unknown warplane targeted on Saturday a military post of Iranian-backed militias in the city of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria, which resulted in the killing and injury of dozens.

Iranian-backed militias control vast areas of the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor after the military defeat of the ISIS in late 2017.

A military source of the National Defense Forces (NDF), an armed militias affiliated with the Syrian government forces, said that an unknown warplane bombarded three military posts of the Iranian-backed militias and the NDF in the city of Deir ez-Zor, killing and injuring more than ten members.

The Syrian Badia region is a source of concern for the Iranian-backed militias and the government forces, where ISIS sleeper cells launch operations that inflict heavy losses on the forces and militias, despite the intensive security campaigns to comb the Badia.

The source asserted the existence of eight corpses, including Iraqis and Afghans. More than ten members were hospitalized, according to the source.
Al Ahram adds:
The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said there were no casualties or material losses in the attack, the second within a week in the province of Deir-Ez-Zor.

At least five explosions were heard, according to the monitor, in the Hawijah Kateh area and a nearby bridge north of Deir-Ez-Zor city.

Syrian state media also reported the attack but gave no details. Deir Ez-Zor is a strategic province that borders Iraq and contains oil fields.

Iran-backed militia groups and regime forces control the area and have often been the target of Israeli war planes in previous strikes.

Government Corruption
Another judge rips Wisconsin 2020 election investigator for destroying records
[WashingtonExaminer] A judge directed Republicans in the Wisconsin State Assembly not to delete any records in the investigation of the 2020 presidential election in the state.

Dane County Circuit Judge Valerie Bailey-Rihn expressed disbelief that she had to issue such an order but emphasized it was necessary because the inquiry is being led by former state Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
Justice Michael Gableman, whose team has said they destroyed unimportant documents.

"I don’t want any records destroyed," Bailey-Rihn said, per Fox 11 News. "I’m frankly amazed that I have to say, 'Don’t destroy records that are subject to an open records request,' or order that to occur. All of us know what the law is."

A lawyer for Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos argued that the speaker has no control over Gableman's cooperation with open records laws, but Bailey-Rihn was unconvinced. She noted that while Gableman would not be held in contempt of court, Vos could face such a ruling. The judge moved to hold the speaker in contempt in March for not releasing all the records from Gableman's inquiry in an earlier order.

"I just can't believe the explanation is, 'We can't control our subcontractors,'" Bailey-Rihn said, per WPR. "That just doesn't seem to be satisfactory to the court since the contractors work for the Assembly. They work for the taxpayers."

The new order came in response to a lawsuit brought by watchdog group American Oversight seeking records from state Assembly contractors "created prior to the establishment of the Assembly’s Office of Special Counsel."

"Speaker Vos’s ever-expanding list of excuses — they don’t exist, they’ve been deleted, we can’t control our contractors — for failing to produce records to which Wisconsin citizens are legally entitled don’t ring true," Melanie Sloan, senior adviser at American Oversight, said in a statement. "Next, he’ll claim the dog ate them. This deliberate effort to deprive the public of information undermines our democracy and the rule of law."

Last month, in a separate lawsuit, a different judge ordered Gableman not to delete any documents that may pertain to American Oversight's public records requests. Lawyers for the watchdog group presented a letter from Gableman's office that said documents deemed "irrelevant or useless" got deleted, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. Wisconsin law contains exceptions that allow politicians to destroy certain types of records, and Gableman's attorneys unsuccessfully argued that applied to him.

Vos hired Gableman to investigate the 2020 election in the Badger State amid pressure over former President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
's heavily disputed allegations of election fraud there. The speaker renewed the state's contract with Gableman in March.

Shortly before the contract renewal, Gableman released his preliminary interim report and claimed the state should consider decertifying the election because of widespread malfeasance. His allegations centered on claims that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg
...the Peewee Herman clone who owns Facebook. He's got more money than Croesus and thinks he should be regulated by the government because it does such a nifty job with all the other stuff it regulates. Until it does, he's not going to stop doing the things he sez need regulated...
had an improper influence on the election by funding a nonprofit group that gave financial aid to municipalities working to adapt election procedures to the pandemic. The Wisconsin Elections Commission aggressively panned his report.

Carville: Americans Don't Understand How Good the Economy Is Right Now
[Breitbart] Democratic strategist James Carville said Thursday on CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
’s "OutFront" that the average American does not understand how good the U.S. economy is doing.

Burnett said, "So mentioned a new CNN poll that found two-thirds of all Americans now disapprove of how President Biden specifically is handling the economy, two-thirds of all Americans. That’s bad. On top of that, more than 50% of Democrats think the economy is in poor shape, up 16 percentage points from December. Eighty-one percent of independents think the economy is in poor shape. These are all bad, no good numbers in this entire thing. How big of a problem is this for the president?"

Carville said, "Well, it’s a huge problem. Let me tell you another thing. A plurality of Americans think no jobs have been created under Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. S You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier...
, and I think in his first 16 months it’s the best opening 16 months of any president since World War II in job creation."

He continued, "We have supply chain issues causing a great deal of grief. Shanghai is probably the leading port in the world in terms of supply chain. So they have formidable problems but understand we’ve had real good job creation and we have had a real reduction in child poverty."

He added, "I don’t think people, I think there is an entire picture of an economy here. I don’t think the people in America are understanding completely where it is. There are bad things, but if we’re making these decisions on the assumption, no jobs created, that’s just not true. Jobs are being created left and right."

Adventures of a Canadian sniper in Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin. Passages in bold from the original sources.

[ColonelCassad] The story of the adventures of the Canadian sniper "Vali" in Ukraine. In our country, along the way, they managed to declare him "killed in Mariupol" (where he had not been at all), and among the Ukrainians, they said that he had already opened his combat account. The reality turned out to be a little different.

Details of the adventures of foreign mercenaries in Ukraine

Canadian newspaper La Presse published (https://www.lapresse.ca/actualites/2022-05-06/retour-du-tireur-d-elite-wali/la-guerre-c-est-une-deception-terrible php) an interview with the sniper Vali, who returned from Ukraine, about whom Ukrainian propaganda methodically made legends. In short, "one of the best snipers in the world" fired only two shots in two months. By the windows. This war is a complete sham."

Most mercenaries return home disappointed, having never been to the front.
"I'm lucky that I'm still alive at all, we walked on the edge."

The last straw was the combat mission, in which the mercenaries acted together with Ukrainian conscripts. At the position, which was under fire from Russian tanks, two Ukrainian soldiers rose to smoke. Vali tried to stop them, but they didn't listen. A few seconds later, a shell flew at them "with jewelry accuracy". "The explosion was terrible. I suddenly lost my hearing and felt a headache. It was tough." Vali realized that the Ukrainians could no longer be helped. "It smelled of death. It's hard to describe, a terrible smell of burnt flesh, sulfur and chemicals. An inhuman smell."

After that, Vali called his wife. "He tried to explain that he had witnessed two deaths. He said: I think I've done enough already, huh? Have I done enough? Like he wanted me to tell him to go home."

For most of the mercenaries who crossed the border, the process of finding a unit to join was chaotic and agonizing. "Zelensky called everyone, but the officers on the ground were absolutely helpless. They didn't know what to do with us."

Wali himself and several other Canadians joined the Normandy Brigade, a private mercenary force commanded by a retired Canadian soldier from Quebec with the call sign "Hrulf". However, members of the brigade immediately began to show discontent, many deserted. Three mercenaries told La Presse that Hrulf promised them weapons and protective equipment, but in the end did nothing. Some of the mercenaries were 40 kilometers from the front without body armor.

"If the Russians had launched an offensive, we would all have been in danger. It was the irresponsibility of the brigade command," admits one of the mercenaries.

The desertion of mercenaries is confirmed by the commander of the "Norman Brigade" Hrulf himself. According to him, about 60 people deserted in total. Some wanted to conclude a contract on terms that would grant them combatant status and guarantee medical care at the expense of the Ukrainian authorities. Others tried to set up a scam to steal $500,000 provided by the Americans.

"Many expected everything to be easy and simple, but in war it's the other way around. It was a terrible disappointment," Vali concludes.

To find the weapon, one had to go through Kafkaesque adventures. "You need to know someone who knows someone else who will say that in this old barbershop they can give you an AK-47. All equipment must be collected piece by piece, here and there, sometimes in good condition, sometimes not."

Mercenaries also obtained food and gasoline themselves. "Even food was often given to us by civilians. The same with gasoline to fill up the car. You constantly need to decide something, to know the right people."

A few weeks later, the most trained mercenaries were selected by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine and, according to them, began to be involved in operations behind enemy lines. The rest roam around rented housing and wait until someone agrees to take them into their squad.

At the same time, most of the mercenaries decided to return home. "Many people come to Ukraine and want to fight, but they leave with their tails between their legs," says Vali.

Ultimately, Vali admits, he himself fired two shots at the windows "to scare" the enemy, and in reality was never in the enemy's range of fire. "This is a war of technology, where the brave Ukrainian soldiers suffer heavy losses under fire and miss a lot of opportunities due to lack of technical training."

Plus the material on the mercenary brigade itself.

Extravagant commander and lack of weapons: Canadian mercenary about serving in the Normandy Brigade.

Since March, the so-called unofficially operates in Ukraine. The Normandy Brigade is a group of mostly Canadian mercenaries. The unit consists of several dozen fighters and is actually part of the "International Legion of Ukraine", although legally it is in no way connected with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The "Normandy Brigade" is not subordinate to the Ukrainian forces and acts as a kind of PMC in the southeast direction.

The National Post newspaper published an interview with a Canadian mercenary ( https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/turmoil-for-norman-brigade-canadian-led-foreign-battalion-in-ukraine ) Paul, who spoke about the terrible conditions of service and suicidal behavior of the commander of the "brigade":

▪️ Paul is 27 years old, he is a veteran of the French Foreign Legion, he lived in Ottawa. In early April, he recruited several Canadians and went with them to Ukraine. In the Normandy Brigade, he became deputy commander, but soon became disillusioned with the unit.

▪️The "Brigade" is led by a former French legionnaire from Quebec, callsign "Hrulf". He is obsessed with liberating his Ukrainian wife's native village and sports a tattoo of the Black Sun, popular among local nationalists.

"This is everything our grandfathers fought against in the Second World War," said colleagues.

▪️The hero of the interview says that Khrulf is not able to provide either the supply of his unit or the coordination of actions with the Ukrainians. The "Normans" literally live in dungeons, sleep on the floors, starve and are constantly sick.

▪️The second problem of the Normandy Brigade is the total shortage of weapons. According to its veterans, only a third of Khrulf's subordinates received AK-47s and one or two magazines of cartridges. The rest were sent unarmed to the front lines to dig trenches, handing out weapons for staged photos for Facebook reports. At the same time, Khrulf accepted donations on behalf of the brigade and sold paraphernalia, but the mercenaries did not receive new weapons.

▪️“Hrulf” constantly risks his subordinates, throwing untrained mercenaries into battle, while he himself “makes himself some kind of stupid Easter commander.”

“He puts the lives of unsuspecting young Canadians in danger who just want to go and watch the fight. It's just crazy, real suicide, ”says Paul.

▪️In Canada, the Normandy Brigade is already being denied support. The founder of the FightforUkraine.ca portal, Chris Eklund, dissuades Canadians from joining the Khrulf team, calling it incompetent.

▪️After a public conflict with the commander, Paul and other mercenaries left the "Norman Brigade" and joined the "International Legion", considering it a more organized structure. Khrulf's only defender, sniper Vali, who left in March, assures that the conditions in the "brigade" are the same as in any foreign unit in Ukraine.

'We won't be bullied': Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas tells protestors that they won't influence final ruling on abortion
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Justice Clarence Thomas said on Friday that the court cannot be 'bullied' by protesters over the leak of the Supreme Court decision regarding Roe v Wade

  • The leak set off a political firestorm, with abortion-rights supporters staging rallies outside the courthouse and at locations around the United States

  • Thomas, one of the most conservative justices on the nine-member court, made only a few passing references to the protests at a conference in Atlanta

  • As a society, 'we are becoming addicted to wanting particular outcomes, not living with the outcomes we don't like,' Thomas said

  • 'We can't be an institution that can be bullied into giving you just the outcomes you want. The events from earlier this week are a symptom of that'

The Protesters will take this as a victory by their using threats of attacks to accomplish their goals.

This will lead to bolder Political and Radical Threats and subversive actions, as other Far Left Agendas become threaten by the SCOTUS rulings.

U.S. Congress Probes Biden Admin over Biometric Data Left in Afghanistan
[KhaamaPress] The United States Congress probes President Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...the pack of self-imagined masterminds of strategy and intrigue at the service of the Biden Crime Family and a grateful nation...
following a disclosure about biometric data abandoned during a hasty troops withdrawal from Afghanistan, which is reported being used by the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
government to target American allies still in the country, according to reports.

United States republican congress members believe the Islamic Emirate is using the data to target former security forces and local Afghan allies of US and NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
forces stranded in Afghanistan, according to a report by the Washington Free Beacon.

While the Ministry of Interior Affairs denied such reports on left biometric data, at least eight republican members of the senate committee — let by Sen. Marsha Blackburn — are demanding the State and Defense Departments to turn over any information related to the evacuation of US troops in Afghanistan.

"The Taliban is using this personal information to increase assassinations, torture, and forced disappearances of Afghans who helped the United States," the senators wrote, according to a copy of the letter obtained exclusively by the Washington Free Beacon.

"These systems, which were abandoned when the US military withdrew from Afghanistan, contained iris scans, fingerprints, photographs, occupational data, home addresses, and names of relatives," the letter read.

In addition to leaving behind $7 billion worth of military hardware, the Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs confirmed is has access to the "sensitive data, including biometric data," the United States abandoned while the country was collapsing last August.

But the ministry repeatedly denied reports suggesting these data are being used by the Taliban ruler to target those who supported the United States’ 20-year war in Afghanistan.

"We have denied this claim many times—that the Islamic Emirate targets or threatens the former security forces through this. We deny it," said Abul Nafay Takor, a front man for the Ministry of Interior, as TOLOnew reported.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shouting match, the spittle had reached unprecedented levels...
local military veterans express concern over reports that depicts direct threats to their lives, saying the government is responsible for protecting secret information, as is responsible to not let such "secret" data leak outside the country.

"The biometric system should not be provided to the neighboring countries or others," said Hekmatullah Hekmat, a military veteran. "The government is responsible for maintaining the secret and important national data."

"This can cause risks for the Afghanistan security system even for their (Islamic Emirate) government because if some of the groups under their command stand against them, they could use the data against the Taliban," said Asadullah Nadim, another military veteran.

The probe against Bidon Administration comes weeks after Human Rights Watch released a report detailing the Taliban is using abandoned biometric data to eradicate local armies who have worked and fought alongside the United States troops in past two decades.

Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, May 7th, 2022
by Mason Clark, Karolina Hird, and Kateryna Stepanenko
May 7, 6:45 pm ET

[UnderstandingWar] The Ukrainian counteroffensive northeast of Kharkiv is making significant progress and will likely advance to the Russian border in the coming days or weeks. Russian forces may be conducting a limited withdrawal in the face of successful Ukrainian attacks and reportedly destroyed three bridges to slow the Ukrainian advance.

Armies generally only destroy bridges if they have largely decided they will not attempt to cross the river in the other direction anytime soon; Russian forces are therefore unlikely to launch operations to retake the northeast outskirts of Kharkiv liberated by Ukrainian forces in the near future. Russian forces previously destroyed several bridges during their retreat from Chernihiv Oblast—as did Ukrainian forces withdrawing in the face of the Russian offensive in the initial days of the war.

This Ukrainian offensive is likely intended to push Russian forces out of artillery range of Kharkiv city and drive to the border of Russia’s Belgorod Oblast. As ISW previously forecasted, the Ukrainian counteroffensive is forcing Russian units intended for deployment elsewhere to redeploy to the Kharkiv front to halt Ukrainian attacks.

Given the current rate of Ukrainian advances, Russian forces may be unable to prevent Ukrainian forces from reaching the Russian border, even with additional reinforcements. Ukrainian forces are not directly threatening Russian lines of communication to Izyum (and ISW cannot verify claims of a separate Ukrainian counteroffensive toward Izyum at this time), but the Ukrainian counteroffensive demonstrates promising Ukrainian capabilities and may set conditions for further offensive operations into northeastern Kharkiv Oblast.

By all indications, Russian forces will announce the creation of a Kherson People’s Republic or possibly forcibly annex Kherson Oblast in the near future and are intensifying occupation measures in Mariupol. Russian forces are reportedly increasing their security presence in both Kherson and Mariupol, including withdrawing personnel from frontline combat units to protect Russian dignitaries in Mariupol.

Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) Leader Denis Pushilin arrived in Kherson on May 6, and local occupation officials stated the region will “strive to become a subject of Russia” and “will resemble something close to Crimea in terms of the pace of development,” echoing longstanding rhetoric used by Russia’s existing proxies in eastern Ukraine. As ISW has previously assessed, the Kremlin will likely form illegal proxy republics or directly annex occupied areas of southern and eastern Ukraine to cement its occupation administration and attempt to permanently strip these territories from Ukraine.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
Russian forces destroyed several bridges to slow Ukrainian forces and may be conducting a limited withdrawal northeast of Kharkiv city in the face of the successful Ukrainian counteroffensive.

Ukrainian forces are making significant progress around Kharkiv and will likely advance to the Russian border in the coming days.

Ukrainian forces continued to repel Russian advances toward Barvinvoke and Russian forces have likely abandoned efforts to drive directly southeast toward Slovyansk. ISW cannot confirm claims of a Ukrainian counteroffensive toward Izyum at this time.

Russian forces claimed to capture Popasna on May 7 but remain largely stalled in eastern Ukraine.

The Ukrainian government confirmed the last remaining civilians trapped in the Azovstal plant evacuated on May 7, though the remaining Ukrainian defenders appear unlikely to surrender. ISW will likely be unable to report any discrete changes in control of terrain until Russian forces capture the plant as a whole due to the poor information environment in Mariupol.

By all indications, Russian forces will announce the creation of a Kherson People’s Republic or possibly forcibly annex Kherson Oblast in the coming weeks to cement its occupation administration and attempt to permanently strip these territories from Ukraine.

Russian forces continued to target Odesa with cruise missile strikes and conduct false-flag attacks in Transnistria over the past several days.

Afghanistan
Meth production is exploding in Afghanistan; illicit drug will be exported to the U.S.
[LibertyUnyielding] Methamphetamine production is exploding in Afghanistan. It may soon become the world’s biggest source of meth, the way Afghanistan is already the world’s biggest source of opium. Meth is Afghanistan’s fastest-growing industry. The Washington Post says Afghanistan has a natural advantage in producing illicit methamphetamines, thanks to a native plant, ephedra, that can be used to make cheap meth:

Afghanistan’s fastest-growing drug industry operates from desert outposts in plain view....Wholesalers like Abdulwadood work openly here, moving dozens of kilos of methamphetamine every week. In the middle of his crowded shop, he casually tosses a half-kilo bag of long glassy shards onto the carpet. Its street value in Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
is tens of thousands of dollars. Abdulwadood will sell it for about $250.

"Every year, sales and production just increase and increase," he said...Behind him the rest of his stock was piled in a corner. He expected to sell the roughly 20 kilos of shisha — the Afghan term for meth — in just a few days.

For decades, the country has been a global hub for opium production, estimated to supply 80 percent of the world’s opiate users. Now its meth industry is growing at breakneck speed, stoking fears among Western experts and officials that, under the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
, Afghanistan could become a major supplier as demand rises globally.

Hundreds of meth labs have appeared in Afghanistan over the past six years, according to independent experts, former government officials and drug traders. And more are being built each month as the country’s economic crisis forces Afghans to find new sources of income. The vast majority of meth produced is for export, but an increasing number of Afghans are turning to it as their drug of choice.

The sudden boom in meth production came after narcos discovered a potential bonanza in a native plant called ephedra — known here as oman — which grows wild and is a natural source of the drug’s key ingredient....Cooking meth with harvested ephedra in Afghanistan — while labor-intensive and dangerous — costs a fraction of the price as making the same drug with ephedra extracted from pharmaceuticals, the process used to produce the vast majority of the world’s meth.

There’s not much the U.S. can do about this even if Afghanistan supplies lots of black-market meth to U.S. meth users and addicts. Afghanistan’s Taliban government is very well armed, thanks to the Biden administration, the same old faces in slightly different places, the same old ideas, the same old graft
...the pack of self-imagined masterminds of strategy and intrigue at the service of the Biden Crime Family and a grateful nation...
leaving behind $7 billion in weapons when the U.S. left Afghanistan. As a result, Afghanistan has "one of the most well-armed military forces in the region," especially compared to neighboring countries in Central Asia, despite being much poorer. Emboldened by how quickly it toppled Afghanistan’s former U.S.-backed government, the Taliban predicted last year that "Islamic law will come not to just Afghanistan, but all over the world....Jihad will not end until the last day."

In its abrupt and disorganized departure from Afghanistan, the Biden administration left behind billions of dollars worth of military equipment that was seized by the Taliban. For example, Julian Röpcke reports that the Taliban "not only seized" around "a hundred U.S. humvees" and armored personnel carriers in the city of Kunduz, but also valuable drones. "Billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars going to Islamist krazed killers, thanks to the administration’s hasty withdrawal....Now every Taliban fighter gets his own Ford, Toyota, humvee" or armored personnel carrier.

FSB and Ministry of Internal Affairs detain neo-Nazis in Moscow
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[IZ] Employees of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained in Moscow members of the radical neo-Nazi group “Maniacs: a cult of murder
...sounds like the name of a Heavy Metal band...
(M.K.U.), who were planning a terrorist attack and massacres in the capital on the eve of Victory Day, which became known on Saturday, May 7.

"The members of the group planned to distribute the video with arson on the Internet to intimidate the population and attract new supporters to the organization. In addition, the radicals are involved in a series of attacks on migrants using edged weapons and special means," RIA Novosti quotes the press service of the FSB .

According to law enforcement agencies, the leader of the formation Yegor Krasnov (arrested in absentia by the Basmanny Court on charges of murdering two or more people) is supervised by the special services of Ukraine and works to involve young people in terrorist and extremist activities, spread neo-Nazi ideology and destabilize the work of Russian authorities through terrorist attacks and high-profile crimes.

In March, the FSB reported that 60 supporters of M.K.U. had been detained. in 23 regions of the Russian Federation with the seizure of weapons, special equipment and recruitment instructions.

On December 17, 2021, the FSB Public Relations Center reported the arrest of a supporter of the Ukrainian youth group M.K.U. in the Rostov region. who was preparing a violent action against a journalist.

Components for the manufacture of improvised explosive devices, communications equipment and personal notes with instructions for their assembly and use, as well as a significant amount of extremist propaganda materials were confiscated from the detainee.

Then FSB Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Belyaev in the reserve said on December 19 that the Security Service of Ukraine or even Western intelligence services could well be behind the actions of the radical neo-Nazi group "Maniacs: a cult of murder."

Briefly about Ukraine. 07.05.2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] 1. Mariupol.
The process of evacuating civilians from the territory of Azovstal has been completed. The resumption of intensive bombing of the remaining Nazis is expected, as well as a further reduction in the territory controlled by them after losing positions at the waste heaps.

2. Zaporozhye.
On the Kamenskoye-Orekhov-Gulyaipole line, fighting continued south of Orekhov and on the outskirts of Gulyaipole. Positional battles also continued to the east of Gulyaipole to Velikaya Novoselovka.

3. Ugledar.
There is no serious progress on the Novomikhailovka-Ugledar-Velikaya Novoselovka line. Fights are mostly positional in nature.

4. Marinka.
There is no significant progress in the village. As before, the battles are going on in the area of the waste heap.

5. Avdievka.
There is no progress in the industrial zone of Avdievka. To the north of Avdievka, fighting continued at Novoselka-2, Novobakhmutovka, and in the area of Troitskoye in the direction of New York.

6. LPR.
A significant advance in Popasna led to the fact that the enemy withdrew most of the forces from the city. It is reported about the cleansing of the northern regions of Popasna. Perhaps in the near future the capture of Popasna will be announced, which opens the way for advancement to Artemovsk.

In Severodonetsk, fighting is taking place on the outskirts, and the front is also approaching Lisichansk. Over the past couple of days, Voevodovka and Svetlichnoye have been taken, the enemy has lost some of its positions on the outskirts of Severodonetsk. There are signs of preparations for the withdrawal of part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Severodonetsk to Lysichansk.

7. Kharkov.
After moving away from Stary Saltov, which was occupied by the LNR reservists, the RF Armed Forces withdrew from several villages on the outskirts of Kharkov, leaving Tsirkuny among them. The enemy continues to strain the secondary direction for the RF Armed Forces in order to force them to ease pressure on the Izyum direction and transfer forces to the Kharkov direction.

A perfectly reasonable strategy. The RF Armed Forces apparently plan to be more active here only after the completion of operations in the Donbass. Nevertheless, the situation certainly requires strengthening the front on the Kazachya Lopan-Volchansk line.

8. Izyum.
Fighting continues in the area of Bolshaya Kamyshevakhi, as well as to the north of the Slavyansk-Barvenkovo highway. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to stay in the Krasny Liman area, and are also strengthening Seversk. Slavyansk and Kramatorsk are being systematically attacked.

9. Nikolaev.
Positional battles of medium intensity continue + positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Nikolaev are regularly processed by MLRS and various missiles. There is no traffic on the Nikopol and Krivoy Rog directions.

10. Odessa.
The enemy continues to declare the possibility of an amphibious assault near Odessa, and also continues to arrange provocations on the border with Transnistria. In addition, Ukraine tried to arrange an amphibious assault on Serpent's Island, which ended in failure and heavy losses. However, it is clear that, with NATO support, an attempt is being made to change the balance of power in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.

More from Rozhin:
They took Popasnaya

It was painfully long, but still.

Today they took Popasnaya. The remnants of the forces of the 24th brigade left their positions in the city in the morning and retreated.

The city center is completely controlled by our troops. Cleansing is still going on in the northern and western outskirts.

In fact, the biggest success in recent days. Now new opportunities are opening up for an offensive in the direction of Artemovsk.

It is also worth noting that after the capture of Popasna, only 2 unliberated large settlements remained on the territory of the LPR - Lisichansk and Severodonetsk.

#1  the Russians really, really would like to
take Lisichansk and Severodonetsk. These two cities were captured by pro russian militia in May 2014 but then the militia were defeated by Ukraine military by Sept 2014.

Ukraine has a pretty robust defensive position on the outskirts of these two cities. Russian forces are only 10 km or so away.

#2  American and Brit’s can wage war without skin in the game Printing their worthless fiat money does not hurt anyone; the military-industrial complex continues to make profit instead. For them, it is still a war without real cost.
The absence of skin in the game leads to a situation where nobody takes responsibility, there is no incentive for that. With a president with advanced dementia, there is not even anyone to talk to reasonably.
Thus, by acting relatively mildly and measured as Russia did so far, it will never stop the empire’s war machine from escalating. This may lead to Armageddon. Russia therefore needs to play out its strength and point to the weaknesses of the enemy.

If the U.S. England or French continues to help Ukraine inflicting damage on Russia (sinking of "Moskva", explosions in Russia), Russia should publicly threatening the U.S. carriers and sinking one of them must therefore be an option. With its hypersonic missiles, Russia can do that and the U.S. or nato does not have the means to prevent that. The consequences would be the following:

The risk of nuclear escalation is not higher, on the contrary. Europeans will whine and cry about Article 5 implementation, but beyond rhetoric, they can do nothing. The president cannot go nuclear for the loss of one carrier, because he risks the annihilation of his country. Escalating conventionally would put their entire fleet at risk.

#6  From the moon of Alabama org.
Another most effective short-term way to retaliate for U.S. involvement is likely to personally harm U.S. celebrities, journalist warmongers, criminals like the Kagan Nuland duo or Congress hawks like Adams and Kinzinger. These folks are cowards when it comes to their life. Put THEIR skin into the game and things will change. Russia does not have the capabilities to do such but there are people for hire who do.
The Russian president Vladimir Putin is a very mindful man. I am sure that he and his team have thought through potential counter measures and decided to activate those that will harm the U.S. in the longer term. Their plan is to convince the deep state in the U.S., especially the people who own Biden, as well as the Pentagon and the CIA, that continuing the war will, over time, be more harmful to their aims than to Russia's.
This is an interesting idea floating around, that many are contemplating Maybe Russia should want US and NATO to escalate.
In this incoming weeks if Nato (USA) get in trapped attacking Transnistria which is a huge escalation, a sinking of a carrier, or the destruction of British navy ports would be justified and most important It will should be announced that Nato expanded the war first.

Female Teachers Called Back to Nimroz Schools
Let us hope that the wobbly verb tenses in this article are merely the result of imperfect language skills, and not an indicator of promises made with no intention of being kept.
[ToloNews] The Nimroz education department said that female teachers who lost their jobs following the fall of the previous government will be reinstated.

According to the officials of the education department of Nimroz, the teachers will be employed at schools in need.

"Soon the reappointment of 196 teachers may occur," said Mawlawi Yar Mohammad Haqyar, the director of the Nimroz education department.

Meanwhile,
...back at the desert island, Bert was realizing to his horror that he'd had only one bottle for one message, and he'd forgotten to include a return address...
teachers who lost their jobs praised the Ministry of Education's decision.

Lima is one of the female teachers who has been living at home since the fall of the previous government.

She says she has been away from teaching for eight months and she called on local officials in Nimroz to provide work opportunities for her and other teachers.

"The Islamic Emirate has provided the opportunity for us to return to our duty without an exam. I am very happy and I ask the teachers who have left to come back," said Lima, the teacher.

Teachers and school officials in Nimroz said they are facing a shortage of female teachers.

"I ask our colleagues who were not on duty to join us and come to their duties," said Ziba Siddiqui, the teacher.

"Our students from the first to the sixth grade are present, they come every day and the teachers are present. "There is no problem," said Shahla Ahmadzai, head of Esteqlal girls' school.

The remarks come as official numbers from the Nimroz Education Department indicate that about 200 teachers in the province have lost their jobs following the fall of the previous government.

Never gets old: Biden tells false 'Joey, baby' Amtrak story for 7th time as prez
[NYPost] President Biden on Friday told a story involving an Amtrak conductor who supposedly grabbed his cheeks and shouted "Joey, baby!" — despite facts contradicting the tale, which Biden has told on at least six prior occasions as president.

The amusing anecdote — in which Biden apes former Amtrak conductor Angelo Negri’s Italian-American accent — was declared "False" last year by CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
"Facts First" journalist Daniel Dale.

In some tellings, the encounter happened at the end of Biden’s eight years as vice president after he crossed 1 million miles on Air Force Two. But that version is impossible because Negri, who retired in 1992, died in May 2014.

Biden called the latest version a "true story" and said it happened early in his vice presidency before his mother died in 2010, which is equally difficult to square with facts because Biden didn’t cross 1 million miles on Air Force Two until September 2015.

California says it needs more power to keep the lights on
[Rooters] Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, energy officials on Friday issued a sober forecast for the state's electrical grid, saying it lacks sufficient capacity to keep the lights on this summer and beyond if heatwaves, wildfires or other extreme events take their toll.

The update from leaders from three state agencies and the office of Governor Gavin can't be Bee'd Newsom
...mayor of San Franciscoas it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of Californiaas it transforms itself into Cinderland...
comes in response to a string of challenges with the ambitious transition away from fossil fuels, including rolling blackouts during a summer heat wave in 2020.

California has among the most aggressive climate change policies in the world, including a goal of producing all of its electricity from carbon-free sources by 2045.

In an online briefing with news hounds, the officials forecast a potential shortfall of 1,700 megawatts this year, a number that could go as high as 5,000 MW if the grid is taxed by multiple challenges that reduce available power while sending demand soaring, state officials said during an online briefing with news hounds.

Supply gaps along those lines could leave between 1 million and 4 million people without power. Outages will only happen under extreme conditions, officials cautioned, and will depend in part on the success of conservation measures.

#1  Reuters doesn't say it but there are two crucial details

- California imports 20 too 30% of its electricity

- In the summer, after the sun goes down and it is still hot, electricity generated from solar goes off but the demand for A/C is still high until well after midnight. During this period, California imports as much as 40-50% of its electricity.

Doing a little digging ...
California has around 118 power plants.
Many will have scheduled outages for extended maintenance or up CAL EPA required updates lasting 1+ year, over the next 10 years.

Cal. protested and forced cancelation of 13+ Nuke Power Plants in the last 15 years. Even the LA TIMES warned back 2019, if they kept shutting down power plants and not building new ones, there would be a serious energy shortage.

The California "Clean Energy" political agenda was killed by the Clean Affordable Energy political agenda promises.
It seems Natural Gas Power plants owners could not make enough using "Clean Energy" California politically regulated prices to operate the NG plants.

All this is boils down to Touchy-Feely, Tree-hugging, Earth 1st types. Being followed without looking at the likely repercussions back the road.

Germany Intends to Restrict the Number of Afghan Refugees Admitted Into the Country
[KhaamaPress] The German Ministry of Interior intends to impose quotas on the number of Afghan refugees admitted to the country.

According to the German news magazine Der Spiegel, the Ministry intends to admit no more than 5,000 Afghans annually, per the reports by SchengenVisaInfo.com.

According to the magazine, the German authorities are considering such a plan for relocating Afghans to Germany in order to keep the program functionally viable.

Nonetheless, according to Info Moslem colonists Migrants, the idea of restricting the number of Afghan nationals admitted to Germany each year has not been well-received. According to the aforementioned, such an idea had been subjected to criticism. As per a Green Party member of the Bundestag, organizations have assisted approximately 3,000 people and have reported tens of thousands of people who are still at risk.

Since Taliban

man does not live by words alone, despite the fact that sometimes he has to eat them...
according to Info Moslem colonists Migrants, over 10,000 people who have been granted admission by German authorities remain in Afghanistan.

Previously, it was noted that German authorities are replacing existing Afghan refugees from shelters to find space for those arriving from Ukraine.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: May 7th, 2022
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] 23:28 Podolyak on the transfer of Russian military from Syria to Ukraine: "Russia urgently withdraws forces from Syria, transferring military bases to the IRGC, the Israeli media write. Moscow is losing ground in the region in order to throw some firewood (which does not solve anything) into the muzzle of the war in Ukraine. Still going according to plan, right? Well, the plan was excellent. Reliable, like a Swiss watch."

22:43 Zelensky announced the preparation, together with international organizations, of the second stage of the evacuation from Azovstal - wounded soldiers and doctors. He also assured: "Of course, we are also working to take out our military. All the heroes defending Mariupol. This is very difficult. But important."

22:28 Zelensky in an evening address: “Last night, the Russian army used a rocket to destroy the Grigory Skovoroda museum in the Kharkiv region. A rocket ... to destroy the museum. every street has something memorable, something historical. But for the Russian army it does not matter. They would only kill and destroy. <...> Only the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the resistance of our people can stop this inhuman invasion. This is barbarism , which has rockets, but does not have anything that makes people people."

22:24 Arestovich denied the information of some Ukrainian media that the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the Russian frigate Admiral Makarov. He called these reports a "misunderstanding" and did not rule out that even the Russians could make such a stuffing to discredit the Ukrainian and Western media.

22:19 Podolyak, in an interview with Radio NV, urged Ukrainians to be very careful on May 9: “Still, you need to understand that Russia desperately wants to do some evil to us on May 8 or 9, and therefore there will certainly be some provocations. Unfortunately "we must understand that the Russian Federation is behaving inappropriately today. <...> I do not expect something so unconventional that it can create certain panic moods. I expect the Russians to behave like a classic Russian - to stab him in the back. In this case throw one more extra rocket at some peaceful city of ours."

22:15 Forests are burning in the Kherson region, but the Russian occupiers do not allow to extinguish the fires that are approaching the villages of Heroiskoye and Ivanovka of the Chulakovskaya territorial community, the village head Alexander Musienko said.

22:10 The Russian military dropped an air bomb on a school in Belogorovka, a village near Lisichansk in the Luhansk region. Almost the entire village was hiding in the school - 90 people, said the head of the OVA, Sergei Gaidai. About 30 people have already been rescued from the rubble.

22:08 The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation also confirmed the completion of the operation to evacuate civilians from Azovstal. According to Moscow, since May 5, 51 people have been rescued, including 11 children. The rescued civilians, accompanied by the UN and the ICRC, "left for the selected places of temporary accommodation," the RF Defense Ministry specified.

22:05 The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced that the "Kyiv regime" plans on May 8 in the western regions of Ukraine "to carry out provocations with the death of civilians for the subsequent prosecution of the RF Armed Forces." For this, it is allegedly planned to strike with Tochka-U missiles at crowded places in the Lvov and Volyn regions.

21:54 Sergei Volina, commander of the paratroopers from Azovstal: "The Mariupol garrison did everything possible to save the civilian population. We ask everyone to make every effort to evacuate the military."

"It seems as if I was in some kind of hellish reality show, where we - the military - are fighting for life, using every chance to save, and the whole world is just watching an interesting plot. <...> What do I hope for? miracle. The fact that higher powers (in the broadest sense of the word) will find a solution for our salvation. And this hellish reality show will end ... "

21:47 Kherson region will be liberated "completely and as harshly as possible," Podolyak said in an interview with Radio NV: "There will be no" Kherson People's Republic ". in terms of the number of irretrievable casualties on the part of Russian servicemen. That is, as many servicemen of the Russian army will be killed as it takes to make the phrase "Russian occupation" forever forgotten in the Kherson region. That will be for sure."

21:30 In the Kherson region, in the city of Holaya Pristan, as a result of shelling, one house was destroyed, more than 25 were damaged. Four people were injured, Deputy Mayor Svetlana Linnik said.

21:28 The EU in the sixth package of sanctions plans to ban the insurance of ships that carry Russian oil, writes The Walt Street Journal. This will block Russia's access to the world oil market and its export earnings, since tankers do not carry oil without insurance against environmental risks. And European companies insure the vast majority of oil shipments in the world.

21:13 The International Committee of the Red Cross is still negotiating with the Russian side on access to Ukrainians forcibly taken to Russia and therefore has "insufficient information" about their fate, ICRC operations director Dominik Stilgart said in an interview with NZZ.

21:05 In the Donetsk region, four people died today - two in Bakhmut and two in Konstantinovka. Nine more people were injured, Governor Pavel Kirilenko said.

20:54 CIA director William Burns assured that there is no clear evidence of Russia's preparation of a nuclear strike on the territory of Ukraine.

20:31 The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation claims that a Ukrainian Su-24 bomber, a Su-27 fighter, three Mi-8 helicopters with a landing force and two Bayraktars were shot down in the area of \u200b\u200bSnake Island, and the Ukrainian assault boat Stanislav was also allegedly destroyed.

Meanwhile, the speaker of the Odesa OVA, Serhiy Bratchuk, reports with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine that in the area of \u200b\u200bSnake Bayraktar Island, a Russian landing boat of project 11770 Serna and two anti-aircraft missile systems Tor were hit.

20:27 In Mangush near Mariupol, the invaders dismantled a monument to Hetman Petro Sahaydachny, because it was installed at the initiative of the Ukrainian Azov regiment, Russian media reported.

20:25 Suspicion of treason was announced to the head of Stary Saltov, Eduard Konovalov, and the secretary of the Olkhovatsky village council, Nadezhda Antonova, said the head of the Kharkiv region, Oleg Sinegubov. They face 15 years to life imprisonment.

20:19 Russian hackers acted together with the occupying forces in the attack on Odessa, according to the State Service for Communications. According to the service, approximately simultaneously with the attacks on Russian resources, there were calls for a cyber attack on the website of the Odessa City Council.

20:16 The Russian military fired from Gradov on a residential sector in Privolye, Luhansk region, as a result of which two children were killed - boys aged 11 and 14, said the head of the OVA Serhiy Gaidai. In addition, two girls aged 12 and 8 and a woman aged 69 were injured.

20:13 The Russian Defense Ministry announced that "Ukrainian aviation equipment, including drones" was destroyed at military airfields in the areas of Artsyz, Odessa and Voznesensk. Also, Iskander missiles allegedly destroyed "large accumulations of weapons and equipment from the United States and Western countries" in the areas of the Krasnograd and Karlovka railway stations in the Kharkov region.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, in an interview with the German Welt Am Sonntag, said that in the coming weeks, Ukraine should be prepared for “the offensive of the Russians and even more brutality, even more destruction of vital infrastructure,” but NATO does not intend to send troops to Ukraine. The Alliance does not exclude that the conflict between the countries will take years. To prevent this, according to Stoltenberg, the West is actively arming Ukraine:

"In the long term, Ukraine cannot defend itself with Soviet-era weapons, but must switch to modern Western weapons. Only in this way will Kyiv be able to successfully repel the Russian invasion."

12:24 The Ukrainian military tried to organize a counterattack in the village of Voevodovka on the outskirts of Severodonetsk, but were surrounded, said LPR Ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik.

Fighting is going on in the vicinity of the "triangle" in the area of the settlements of Voevodovka, Shipilovo, Belogorovka and on the Privolnyansky bridgehead.

In Voevodovka, Ukrainian militants attempted a counteroffensive, which ended in failure. Leaving on the battlefield a lot of two hundredths (killed - ed.), The warriors rolled back to their positions. In fact, all the militants who were detained in Voevodovka were blocked. They have a choice - either try to break out with heavy losses, or surrender and stay alive," Miroshnik wrote in his Telegram channel.

Surber: PR firm goes from Woke to Nope
Judd Legum's headline did not do the story justice. It said, "PR giant advising corporate clients to stay silent on abortion rights."

The PR company -- Zeno -- is not just a giant but a Woke Giant. Its clientele includes other Woke Giants such as Coke, Netflix and Starbucks.

You remember Coke, right? It is that bottled fizzy water company that exhorted its employees to "try to be less white," a corporate racism that Florida banned last month.

49 other states should follow suit.

Zeno is woke. Kevin McCauley profiled the company in March, writing:

Zeno Shoots for Higher Purpose

Zeno Group scored a 39.9% surge in 2021 revenues to $118.9M as it captured 85 major new business wins and its Top Ten clients hiked spending about 40%.

"Never more so than over the last year, when global forces required businesses to think and act differently, Zeno fully demonstrated what's known to be true — companies that embody a higher purpose are stronger and more impactful, inside and out," said CEO Barby Siegel.

Beyond growing its revenues base, Zeno wants to be measured for making a positive impact on people's lives.

"The firm used pandemic 2021 to realize more deeply who Zeno is, why it exists and the firm's desired impact," said Siegel.

The goal is to "champion the courageous to achieve something better for humankind."

6 weeks later, Zeno junked all that Marxist marketing and told CEOs to STFU about social issues.

#2  DeSantis accomplished this singlehandedly. No, wait...

A majority of the state legislature backed the governor on this. Polls show that those legislators' constituents back them on this.

This is the way our representative government is supposed to work.

Why the Dobbs Leak Is Dangerous
[First Things] This week's leak of the draft majority opinion in Dobbs, the Mississippi abortion case, is unprecedented. Leaks from the Court have occurred before, but this leak is different, a potentially shattering event, both because of the leaker's probable motives and the leak’s probable effects. Most likely, the leaker set out to intimidate one or more of the justices and affect the outcome of the case. Alternatively, the leaker hoped to destroy the Court as an institution -- in the approving phrase of one progressive commentator, to "burn this place down." The long-term consequences of the leak may be severe.

Past leaks from law clerks typically have come after the Court has issued a decision. They often seem explained by desires to set the record straight for history or, perhaps, to demonstrate the leaker's own significance (which, as a former clerk, I can attest to be typically little). If they come before a decision, leaks are usually spare and vague, hints at a likely vote tally or outcome. Such leaks do little to change the day-to-day workings of the Court.

But the leak of an entire draft opinion in the middle of deliberations in a vitally important case suggests something very different, a desire either to bully or destroy the Court as an effective institution. After this episode, justices will feel less secure about the confidentiality of their deliberations and think twice about what they put in drafts. The work of the Court will inevitably suffer. That is what makes this leak so damaging, however one feels about the ultimate issue at stake.

#1  Yes, "dangerous" as well as destructive to the court and the nation. No word yet on the identity of the leaker or leakers. No one fired? So will it happen again? Is this the first of many leaks to follow ?

Unfortunately, this unhappy event is likely headed to the memory hole.

-War on Police-
Former Cop Derek Chauvin Makes Deal to Serve 'George Floyd' Sentence in Federal Prison
[PJMEDIA] Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has worked out a deal to serve his sentence in the May 2020 death of St. George Floyd
...the patron saint of Minneapolis, a sterling example for our children and indeed for us all. St. George was martyed by the Devil's agents in blue while standing on a street corner preaching tolerance and racial justice or something like that...
in federal prison. Chauvin and his attorney worked out a deal to plead guilty to violating Floyd’s federal civil rights so he could serve out his term in a "safer and nicer" facility than the typical state prison.

Chauvin and his attorney have been angling to get him transferred to a federal facility since his state trial. The jury found Chauvin guilty of murder, for which he may have been paroled earlier. But now with the ability to serve in a federal lockup, he will serve a longer sentence of 20-25 years when a federal judge sentences him.

The good news for Chauvin is that he might live to tell about it when or if he gets out.

Inmates usually aren’t too happy with cops in any prison, but especially state prisons, and especially the guy doing time for George Floyd’s death.

Chauvin is appealing his conviction.

George Floyd’s death in police custody sparked the "summer of love" riots all over the country. Minneapolis riots saw arson, looting, and millions in damage and scores of people hurt.

Floyd, a drug-addled, quasi-homeless drifter, was high on fentanyl and meth when cops responded to a shopkeeper’s complaint about Floyd and his friends circulating forged $20 bills.

As he was urged out of his car, Floyd began to insist that he couldn’t breathe. He continued those protestations as he asked to lay on the pavement. When he wouldn’t stop resisting arrest, Chauvin held him down with his knee on his back, shoulder, and neck.

Floyd died, and the case sparked international outrage.

Three other coppers await trial in state court for aiding and abetting Chauvin in killing Floyd.

-Land of the Free
This Week in Books, May 8th, 2022
First, Happy Mother's Day. Chicken Cacciatore, salad, breadsticks, rice or penne, 3-bean salad, iced tea and sweeteners, pinot noir for those who do not have or have finished their work day.

This article's link is to the 15th Anniversary of the Greensburg Tornado, famous for being so horrible because W. had Kansas Guard troops in Iraq or something, and only DiCapprio and his Green Initiative could save us or something.

Saw the other day in the post covering the Andover tornado and Springtime preps, H/T Trailing Wife. And yes, it has been above average busy but not because of storms. The Andover tornado was an interesting tornado because it was so clear. Usually there is so much debris you can't see the bits of house get hurled up in the air.

For those new to Tornado Land, this is why when seeking shelter you want to get as low as possible on the most leeward-side room, preferably without windows. Being under the twister's thumb is going to ruin your day. For the rest of the people it is debris which does the damage.

In our shelter area, each of us has a backpack suited to the individual's needs, clothing medicine glasses etc, 2 or 3 MREs, water, some of my old work boots and work gloves, and group needs like that clotting bandage wrap, flashlights, whistle, and a helmet. The idea is to duck and cover with that backpack and helmet on to add just a bit more protection.

Additionally, these packs also double as a basic bug out bag. I do have an extended leave bag, but in a need to grab and go these will cover the basics. Therefore, they need to be constantly updated especially as members grow into or out of specialized clothing and/or needs, such as diapers and medicines.

What I found interesting in my last re-pack was how much has changed in 15 years.

Information.
Numbered may be the days that us sorcerers can smell the wind and have a good idea what the weather is doing. The really neat trick, though, is having real time radar in my pocket. In that spirit, Battery Banks have been added for near negligible space and weight. Don't forget a cord. If you can communicate, you can coordinate your extraction. Sure beats the old time trick of taking a pack of hot dogs to help the S&R dogs find you.

First Aid.
Compared to 15 years ago, it is dang near DYI as imaginable. Streamlined tourniquets, clotting bandage wrap and pads, those bandages with staples built into them. Incredible. Consider that you may be injured, but long on the waiting list for professional help.

Walkie-Talkies.
These have come a long way, especially in the battery department. Also there are some which can coordinate with your devices, giving you additional communication abilities, especially if cell and internet service is unavailable. As always, having things set up before the emergency is the way to go.

Is there an initial setup cost? Sure, but that can be mitigated. Instead of the Ruk Ruk 2000 backpack, hit a military surplus location. A china bag from big box works just fine, too. Space blankets are $5, water and long term food can be figured. Then just add an item to your cart every time you go shopping to spread out costs, and before you know it you have your aspirin, anti-histamine, bandages, maybe get that weather radio with the built in flashlight, noise maker, and manual recharging crank, orange vest, so forth. Get the Surviving Sudden Severe Weather sorted, and then think about branching out into evacuation scenarios where, perhaps, that Ruk Ruk 2000 may cause you to stand out when you don't want to.

Going to end there for now; just this has taken 4 hours so if it is a bit choppy, apologies. And as always, this is an open discussion as nobody's situation is exactly the same.

BOOKS

Wilbur Smith and The Courtney Series.
Wow, talk about unapologetically masculine especially in today's puri-tyrannical humanities, or lack thereof, environment. I had so much fun I caught myself looking around the room to make sure the kids weren't reading any of it over my shoulder.

Jock of the Bushveld, Sir Percy FitzPatrick
Got to read this to see if son is ready yet. I'm not sure he is just yet, but I certainly enjoyed it.

Sailing Alone Around the World, Joshua Slocum
Real-life adventure and very enjoyable style.

Soldiers of the Sun, Meirion Harries
H/T badanov; it really did fill in some gaps concerning Japan leading into WWII. It also is flowing very nicely into:

Shattered Sword, Jonathon Parshall and Anthony Tully
Just getting started and so far I am very impressed. I hope it will fold well into:

Who Can Hold the Sea, James Hornfisher
This is about the US Navy 1945-1960. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of his other books.

Once an Eagle, Anton Myrer
It has been a while, but there was some discussion of whether Sam Damon's time had gone. I have failed to come to the defense of Sad Sam, not because I didn't think his social ladder shrew of a wife didn't take every opportunity to press him or be queen of the ball, but because I just didn't like the prose. I found it choppy and, perhaps because I was tired and at the end of the day, found myself having to re-read sections as the character changed and I could not immediately deduce whom to. There are some great parts, but overall I just got tired of her drama. There are plenty of scholarly reviews available if you are wanting something more highbrow than "got sick of her shit."

#3  Got pinged a few weeks back. Knew the thing was at least 30 miles out.
(long ways away)

How I saw myself was as Bill Paxton....what everyone else saw, well that's their testimony. Tornado didn't land though.

Egyptian Army foils terrorist attack in Sinai, an officer and 10 soldiers killed
[AlAhram] Egypt’s Army foiled an attack launched by a group of takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed...
turbans against the East Canal Water Lifting Station checkpoint on Saturday, the Egyptian Armed Forces spokesperson announced.

According to the statement, the attack was foiled by the checkpoint personnel, but it resulted in the death of an officer and 10 soldiers as well as the injury of five others.

The remaining turbans are currently being hunted down and are besieged in one of the isolated areas in Sinai, the statement added.

This is the first major attack of its kind in 2022. Terrorist attacks in the Sinai, especially in the north where they had been concentrated, have declined since 2013 following massive and successive security and Army operations.

No group has grabbed credit for the attack.

Egypt has been battling Islamist turbans in North Sinai for several years. Terrorist attacks have mostly targeted security forces, particularly at military and police checkpoints, causing thousands of casualties.

Thousands of turbans were reportedly killed in the military operations launched by the authorities to eradicate terrorism from the area.
