Information Uncovered Overnight Shows Highland Park Shooter, Bobby Crimo, Is Tied to Socialists, Progressives, Antifa and the Occult
[Gateway] Police arrested Robert ’Bobby’ Crimo III’, age 22, yesterday following the shooting in Highland Park, Illinois. Crimo killed six and injured over 20 more individuals at the 4th of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois.

On Tuesday The Gateway Pundit uncovered information indicating Crimo is a radical progressive with ties to Antifa, progressive groups, and the occult.

Looking over information that was collected following the deadly shooting, it is evident the Highland Park 4th of July parade killer, Bobby Crimo, has a very dark background.

We reported on the shooter yesterday when he was confirmed as a person of interest.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Bobby Crimo III: Another Known Wolf
[HotAir] The 4th of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois had barely gotten started yesterday when shots began ringing out from a rooftop near the parade route. By the time it was finished, six were dead and 38 more were injured, many seriously. The hospitalized victims reportedly range in age from 8 to 85. The police had soon identified a suspect, Robert Crimo III, a self-styled rapper who went by the name "Awake." Crimo was later spotted in his vehicle and taken into custody following a brief chase. Browsing through his social media history, most of which has since been taken down, authorities seem to be asking how nobody saw this coming. (WGN-TV)

Robert "Bobby" Crimo III, the suspect in the Highland Park parade shooting Monday was taken into custody around Monday evening.

Crimo was a prolific poster online where he apparently went by the name "Awake the Rapper." His videos foretell his alleged violent acts. In one, he appears to be dramatize a school shooting. In another video, Crimo appears to animate his own demise in a confrontation with police.

His postings informed the operation to arrest him.

Crimo’s attack will no doubt renew the debate about so-called "red flag" laws and what can be done about people who openly provide all sorts of indications that they may become dangerously violent. The shooter’s rap videos seemed to show all of the signs you would expect. One of them depicted a mass shooting at a school while another featured a cartoon version of Crimo being killed in a standoff with law enforcement.

The alleged shooter did more than post rap videos, however. He hosted a Discord channel where his "fans" would engage in discussions of violence and mass shootings. Crimo frequently posted on topics including death, murder, and suicide. He rarely posted about politics, but there were allegedly a couple of photos and videos suggesting he was a fan of Donald Trump.

It would seem that all of the signals were there and had been for several months at least. But what, if anything, could anyone have done to stop him? Thus far, the only thing officials are saying is that Crimo was "known to law enforcement." But there is no confirmation that he had a criminal record that would have prevented him from purchasing a firearm, though that may come to light later. We also don’t know if he even legally owned the rifle that was recovered from the scene of the shooting.

Gavin Newsom Runs Ads in Florida Trying to Get Folks to Move to California for More Freedom
[PJMedia] You gotta hand it to Gavin Newsom. He’s quite sure of himself, and the righteousness of his cause.

The Democratic governor of California has made a growing number of appeals to conservatives lately, along the lines of, “Hey, if you REALLY like freedom, you’d LOVE what we’ve done in The Golden State!”

Now, he’s running ads over the Independence Day weekend in Florida, accusing evil Republicans of banning speech in classrooms, banning books, and restricting voting rights:

Newsom’s new ads in Florida follow his move to join Donald Trump’s Truth Social platform:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday said he had joined former President Donald Trump’s Truth Social platform to call out “Republican lies.”

“I know we’re all on this platform in search for the truth,” Newsom said in a video post. “But the truth is I’ve not been able to find a simple explanation for the fact that we have a red state murder problem.”

Look, it’s a little early, but the campaign to replace Biden in 2024 has begun in earnest.

#4  No, Almost. It is altogether too real. Gov. Dippity Doo thinks California has some very attractive selling points that will induce Flordians to move here. After all, you can still get an abortion in California. If you're a boy you can marry your boyfriend. The perverts at Disneyland are still allowed to groom children, illegal aliens get free health care, and junkies can shoot up on the sidewalks...after they've taken a crap on the sidewalks.

A match between Dippity Doo and Ron DeSantis in 2024 might be highly entertaining.

Swords of Lightning: Green Beret Horse Soldiers and America's Response to 9/11
[Amazon] They landed in a dust storm so thick the chopper pilot used dead reckoning and a guess to find the ground. Welcomed by a band of heavily armed militiamen, they climbed a mountain on horseback to meet the most ferocious warlord in Asia. They plotted a war of nineteenth-century maneuvers against a twenty-first-century foe. They trekked through minefields, sometimes past the mangled bodies of local tribesmen who’d shared food with them hours before. They saved babies and treated fractures, sewed up wounded who’d been transported from the battlefield by donkey. They found their enemy hiding in thick bunkers, dodged bullets from machine-gun-laden pickup trucks, and survived mass rocket attacks from vintage Soviet-era launchers. They battled the Taliban while mediating blood feuds between rival allies. They fought with everything they had, from smart bombs to AK-47s.The men they helped called them brothers. Hollywood called them the Horse Soldiers.

#2  The idea of grabbing the Taliban bigs and bin Laden (we did not for sure know where he was on 9/12) is certainly attractive.

All that said, making a big ash tray there on 9/12 would probably have paid a lot of dividends compared to the endless war on terror, segue to war for liberal democracy in Ukraine today.

Anti-Islamic group leader's car is rammed onto its roof by woman following spectacular chase caught on camera after he burned a Koran outside a mosque in Norwegian capital
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Lars Thorsen, leader of anti-Islam group Stop the Islamisation of Norway (SIAN), burned Koran in Oslo on Saturday

  • His car was then rammed into several times by a grey Mercedes B-Class as it drove along a motorway into the capital

  • Footage taken by anti-immigration group Alternativ Media shows moment Thorsen's car was hit

  • Jeep rolls on to its roof after being rammed, leaving five occupants with injuries

  • The driver of the Mercedes and a passenger - both women - have been arrested and charged with causing or being complicit in grievous bodily harm

  • Police say the driver and her passenger were present minutes before the crash as Thorsen and his supporters set light to copies of the Koran outside a mosque in the Oslo suburb of Mortensrud

Footage captured on that drive shows the woman caught up to Thorsen as he joined the E6 motorway heading into Oslo from Mortensrud.

She rams his vehicle several times as it navigates a roundabout leading on to the motorway, then speeds ahead and stops across a lane in an apparent attempt to force Thorsen to a standstill.

Thorsen passes and the woman gives chase, ramming the rear of his vehicle as it drives down the inside lane - causing it to turn around, roll into a ditch by the side of the road, and turn over.

Guts 'n Gunships: What it was Really Like to Fly Combat Helicopters in Vietnam
[Amazon] Straight from college, to the US Army, to command pilot of a four-ton gunship with a four-man crew in Vietnam. From college chess games to a game of life and death. It was surreal to say the least. In this book I pour my heart out and bare my soul to tell you what that was like, from basic to Vietnam and back.

Synopsis

In the summer of 1967, Mark Garrison had dropped out of college at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, just before entering his third year. He had run out of money and had to work for a while. These were the days before the lottery and the draft soon came calling. In order to somewhat control his own future, he enlisted in the U.S. Army’s helicopter flight school program. Little did he know that this adventure would be the most profound experience of his life.

Garrison flew hundreds of missions for the 119th AHC, stationed in the Central Highlands at Camp Holloway in Pleiku, Vietnam. He was awarded twenty-five Air Medals, four campaign Bronze Stars, and The Distinguished Flying Cross among numerous other awards. His narrative takes you through the whole process, from basic training, flight school, flying combat in Vietnam, and his return to the United States. His description includes many incidents in combat flight, including being hit by rocket-propelled grenades and being on fire in the air, over hundreds if not thousands of enemy troops. But this is not all. He elaborates on the daily lives, emotions, and nuances of the pilots and what they considered their mission to be.

Actual audio recovered from one of the missions Garrison callsign Pigpen flew in Vietnam.

R. Kelly Released After Revealing He Was Just One Of Ghislaine Maxwell's Clients
[Babylon Bee] NEW YORK, NY — Just days after being sentenced to 30 years in prison, R. Kelly walked free this morning after it came to light that he was actually one of Ghislaine Maxwell's clients, and therefore protected from any consequences of his actions.

"We are so, so sorry for the embarrassment we have caused Mr. Kelly," said lead prosecutor Dean Baker. "We remain deeply committed to protecting the identities of the powerful men who used Ms. Maxwell's services to sexually abuse minors. We apologize to Mr. Kelly for the mistake and have booked him a nice trip to a private island as recompense."

While grateful for his quick release, Mr. Kelly reportedly plans to sue the state. "Yes, I absolutely participated in the trafficking and sexual abuse of young women over decades," said Mr. Kelly in a statement. "But hey, we've all agreed to just pretend that Ms. Maxwell trafficked girls to 'no one'. Since I am one of her clients, the state was never supposed to reveal my identity and ruin my good name."

Mr. Kelly had avoided telling prosecutors about his connection to Ms. Maxwell as his knowledge of the names in her book would put him at risk. "Obviously, the people on that list have the power to take you out if they think you might talk," said Mr. Kelly. "Which is why I'm getting on a plane right away and getting out of the country."

At publishing time, Mr. Kelly was seen boarding a private jet with a pilot named Hill R. E. Clintonovich.

Smartphones, which are seemingly in-hand 24/7, are a tempting solution, but 911 networks offer limited connectivity in Ma Nature’s domain.

When you’re on an outdoor adventure, PLBs and satellite messengers are your two best options for sending distress signals.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
A Side-By-Side Revival A new generation of classic shotguns roars back
[G&G] I don’t know if my pal Scott Wood is ahead of his time, or just plain hardheaded. After thirty years of hunting and friendship, there’s evidence for the latter. But as for his affinity for side-by-side shotguns—he has carried a pre—World War II Belgium-made 16-gauge Francotte for decades—he explains it this way: "I like the balance of a side-by-side because it comes up quicker," he says. "There’s a significant advantage to double triggers—I can make a split-second decision to drop back to the rear trigger if I have a long shot. And you’re looking down a wide plane over both barrels, which lends itself to true instinctive shooting. If we were meant to shoot over-and-unders, we’d have one eye on top of the other."

In other words, Wood wields a side-by-side because it’s as functional as it is lovely, and that’s a perspective finding new traction in the field these days. There’s a genuine revival of interest in side-by-side shotguns, with manufacturers filling in the price-point gap between heavy, soulless, and correspondingly cheap models and the five-digit bespoke guns that have long defined the breed.

Part of the fuel driving the side-by-side love is the general rise in interest in upland bird hunting. It’s hard to put a number on the increase, but everyone from outfitters to gun dealers to kennel owners reports a bump in the number of people newly intrigued with chasing quail and woodcock. In addition to Wood’s list of advantages, these shotguns are trimmer and can weigh less than over-and-unders and other shotgun actions. That makes them keenly suited for pulling through the South’s more iconic landscapes—hellish cutovers, cane thickets, and briar-knotted brambles.

The newer models are also quite handsome. Whereas less expensive side-by-sides—think sub-$600—tended to be ugly and clunky, more recent offerings put greater emphasis on aesthetics and build quality.

The Fabarm Autumn is a perfect example. The Italian gunmaker began producing side-by-side shotguns at its founding around 1900, and while a few Fabarm shotguns found their way stateside, the company never gained much of an American following. That could soon change. In 2011, the venerable gunmaker Caesar Guerini announced its purchase of an equity stake in Fabarm, and last year began importing the first Fabarm side-by-side shotgun made with American shooters in mind.

Israeli military tech allows soldiers to 'see through walls'
[STAR] A new Israeli military technology enables soldiers to see through walls in real time using a touchscreen and an AI - it could have terrifying consequences for surveillance and privacy.

An Israeli military tech company has created a new gadget which will enable the military to see through walls.

The Camero Xaver 1000 uses artificial intelligence-based tracking to detect live objects and people behind walls and buildings, and even tells users whether the object is an adult, a child or an animal.

This 'easy-to-use' system features a 10-inch touch screen and promises X-ray vision through walls "at the push of a button".

Billed as a tool for both the military and the emergency services, it even lets users know the number of people inside a building, their height and orientation, and maps the layout of a room itself.

Flown Over: The Impact of Airlines Cutting Service to Flyover Country
BLUF:
[Townhall] American Airlines is not the bad guy in this story; the cuts are in response to a regional pilot shortage affecting the entire industry, which could last for a long time.

But as the very phrase "get rid of the losers" implies, many influential people in elite institutions just shrug off or ignore the economic and emotional effects that this kind of thing has on a small-to-medium-sized city. It is much like when they shrugged when manufacturing, opportunity and stability left such cities between 30 and 50 years ago.

When an airport stops serving your city, it denies the region's industries (and travelers) the use of the aviation network, the common denominator that determines successful business and tourism across the country and the globe.

And it creates yet another small death to places that are trying to recover from a series of other small deaths they have endured over the years due to automation and destructive trade deals and the loss of Fortune 500 companies keeping their headquarters in their hometown; there were seven located here in Toledo until the late '70s.

#1  If it's still running, every politician in Washington should be directed to travel the 'daily' Amtrak from Manassas, VA to Atlanta, GA. It's a long, 9.5 hour slog, as the tracks are rickety. You'll be able see the underside of small towns and cities along the way. Mile after mile of closed factories and businesses. The ghost towns of what was once industrial America.

It would be fun to do the math and see how many square feet of solar panels equals one Pratt & Whitney jet engine.

I'd put my money on nuke-powered airplanes. "But what about the radiation?", you ask. Come on, man! Since when have the airlines cared about passenger comfort?

The Establishment Is Running Out of Cannon Fodder for Its Woke Military
[Townhall] Jump out of a perfectly good airplane, charge a machine gun nest, be stationed at Ft. Irwin — these are just three of the myriad miseries American patriots are willing to endure to defend our country. But today's military is asking too much of our young people, as evidenced by the crashing recruitment rates that threaten to deplete a military already running short of soldiers. Have our young people suddenly turned from heroes to zeros, ne'er-do-well heirs of the brave warriors who confronted the forces of tyrannical gun control at Lexington and Concord?

No. The kids are alright. The problems lie echelons above.

Here's a little leadership secret that's actually not a secret at all to competent commissioned and non-commissioned officers. There are no bad cohorts of soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen and whatever the hell Space Force people are called. There are only bad leaders, and we have the worst military leadership in American history, starting right at the top with a commander-in-chief who is less like Ike than Beavis.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
How Financial Giant Morningstar Blacklists Companies That Help Israel Stop Terrorism
[Free Beacon] A prominent financial services firm promotes divestment from companies that help the Israeli government combat Palestinian suicide bombers, according to an independent investigation conducted by a Washington, D.C. think tank.

Morningstar Inc., a financial research firm that advises investors, is accused in a new report from the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) of downgrading companies that help Israel combat terrorism, including those that work on the country’s security barrier built to stop Palestinian suicide bombers from attacking cities. Ratings produced by Morningstar and similar research firms act as a primary guide for investors and can greatly impact how a company is valued.

The author of the FDD report told the Washington Free Beacon that Morningstar’s practices comprise a key pillar of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement—which wages economic warfare on Israel—and could force states with anti-BDS laws to cut ties with Morningstar.
Unilever just spent a year enjoying that attention... before they surrendered.
FDD concluded that Morningstar’s ratings are "driven by a quantifiable bias against Israel" and that the company "risks running afoul of numerous state statutes" meant to curb support for the BDS movement.

The focus on Morningstar stems from its 2020 acquisition of Sustainalytics, a research firm that rates companies based on their social values. Following Morningstar’s acquisition of Sustainalytics, watchdog groups including NGO Monitor and JLens accused Morningstar of allowing its research arm to promote the BDS movement through ratings that negatively impact companies working with Israel. These claims prompted the Illinois Investment Policy Board to initiate an investigation into the company’s practices. They are also fueling calls for at least 34 other states with similar anti-BDS laws to cut ties with Morningstar.
This is where we remind the business world that there is a cost to playing games that annoy half the customer base.
Faced with concerns from its own shareholders, Morningstar insisted in March 2021 that it was not unfairly targeting companies that work with Israel. But the Illinois investigation into its actions prompted the company to hire an outside law firm, White & Case, to conduct an investigation into Sustainalytics’s business practices. That report was published earlier this month and touted by Morningstar as proof it does not discriminate against the Jewish state.

"This investigation concludes that Morningstar’s Sustainalytics products do not recommend or encourage divestment," the report reads.
Golly — the hired guns say what the hiring company wants said.

Udaipur killers had tried infiltrating BJP to kill its leaders
[OneIndia] One of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba holy warriors who was captured on Sunday is said to have been part of the BJP's IT cell. Talib Hussain had allegedly infiltrated the BJP and was even made the in-charge of Jammu province's Minority Morcha's IT and Social Media cell.

The BJP however said that Hussain remained a member of the party for just 18 days and he had resigned on May 27 2022.

On July 1, many opposition leaders had put out a tweet stating that one of the killers in the Udaipur murder case was a member of the BJP. "The killer of Kanhaiya Lal, Riyaz Attari is a member of the BJP," senior Congress leader Pawan Khera said while citing a media report. The BJP vehemently denied the allegation and said that the party has no links with the killers. The ongoing investigation in the Udaipur case suggests that Attari was trying to get close to BJP leaders and workers of the Moslem Rashtriya Manch. The intention was to carry out a reconnaissance of BJP offices and also kill its members and workers, the initial probe has revealed.

An investigation would be launched soon in the Talib Hussain case as well to find out if he too had infiltrated the BJP like Attari.

This modus operandi was used by the LTTE whose members infiltrated political parties or got close to politicians. An official, while explaining their strategy to OneIndia, said that by getting close to politicians or joining the parties, they get an automatic security cover. They use this to go about places and carry out a reconnaissance of targets.

In the case of the LTTE many were welcomed into the state of Tamil Nadu as they were affiliated with a political party. It was due to this infiltration that they were able to set up a plan which ultimately resulted in the liquidation of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi at Sriperumbudur, which is around 50 kilometres from the capital city of Chennai.

Another official said that these radical Islamists are following the same strategy now. The probe into the Udaipur killings makes it clear that their intent was to infiltrate and then target.

Attari was trying to get close with Irshad Chainwala, a member of the BJP Minority Morcha, and Tahir Raza Khan, a BJP worker. It was further revealed that Attari had also carried out a recce of BJP establishments and functionaries with the possible intention of attacking them.

The murder of a Hindu tailor, Kanhaiya Lal by two Moslem murderous Moslems last week has shaken the nation. The culprits had not only recorded the murder, but also posted another video and grabbed credit for it.

This led the Intelligence Bureau to Amaravati where a pharmacist Umesh Kolhe was allegedly killed by five Moslem men. While the police had started the paperwork but haven't done much else of murder, the FIR said that the motive was robbery. It was only after a team of the Intelligence Bureau reached there did they realise that the Rs 35,000 that Kolhe had on him was intact.
The reports on Sunday had claimed that Hussain was the in charge of the IT and social media cell of the minority morcha in Jammu province. However, Jammu and Kashmir BJP chief Ravinder Raina called those reports fake.

"A couple of years ago, Talib Hussain along with with his three colleagues used to come to the BJP office as a media person. He had also interviewed me many times, he used to call himself a reporter for a YouTube channel named 'New Sehar India'," Raina said.

"As a journalist, Hussain clicked photos with us many times in the BJP office. Pakistan terror outfit wanted to target the head office of the BJP of Jammu and Kashmir. It has been done through the targeted medium and carried out such incidents," Ranasaid. "It is too soon to say more on this matter as the investigation is going on. Not only the BJP, but all the offices of other political parties need to be more alert now,” he added.

'Good kid' faces attempted-slay raps for allegedly shooting at cops
[NYPOST] The 14-year-old boy accused of shooting at two cops in Staten Island over the weekend was hit with attempted-murder charges and ordered held on $300,000 bail Sunday — as his aunt called him "a good kid."

Isaiah Ramos wore black Nike slides, black shorts and a white t-shirt at his arraignment in Staten Island criminal court for allegedly firing on two cops in an unmarked police cruiser shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday.

Neither cop was hit, and the officers arrested Ramos — who has no prior criminal record — after a short chase.

"He is a good kid," the teen’s aunt said outside court. "But sometimes things happen."
* For various levels of "good"
Defense lawyer Michael Harding asked for leniency in court, noting his young client’s previously clean record and noting that he is a student at Eagle Academy.

Prosecutors asked that the boy be kept behind bars on $500,000 bail, but the judge ordered him held on $300,000 cash bail or a $900,000 bond.

The targeted officers were in their cruiser near Prince Street and Vanderbilt Avenue around 10:10 p.m. when the young teen gunman walked up and opened fire — missing both cops and the car.

Police said he had a handgun on him when he was arrested.

"He was squeaky clean until last night," a source had told The Post. "He debuted with that one."

In addition to attempted murder, Ramos was also charged with attempted assault and carrying an illegal weapon and is due back in court Tuesday.

Udaipur and Amravati killings have put the focus back on Islamic radicalism
[OneIndia] The Islamic holy warriors have a pan-India reach and operate through dozens of fronts across 23 states

India has been battling against radicalised and bully boy groups since independence. They claim to speak for interests of Kashmiris, Moslems, Sikhs, Assamese, Naxals, Manipuris, Tripuris, Nagas, Bodos and Garos but actually fight for independence, establishing dictatorship of the proletariat or converting India into Dar-al-Islam (Islamic land). As of now, 79 of them stand proscribed, 107 are either talking to the government or observing ceasefire and 76 are still active.

But there is a difference. Islamic holy warriors have Pan-India reach and operate through thousands of sleeper cells and dozens of fronts across 23 states. Other outfits are confined to small areas and, hence they are containable.

Woke employee who refused to work while 'mourning' Roe v. Wade fired
[NYPOST] A woke Universal Music Group worker claims he was fired for "speaking up" about child sacrifice abortion rights — after he admitted he refused to work because he was in "mourning" over the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Michael Lopez, a production coordinator at Universal Music Enterprises, blasted the company as "anti-gay" for terminating a "queer brown person" during Pride Month for "speaking up in defense of child sacrifice abortion rights," according to a lengthy note on LinkedIn that went viral last week.

"Last Friday, like countless other folks, I was devastated by the news of the supreme court’s [sic] attack on child sacrifice abortion rights," Lopez wrote.

"Paired with the flood of anti-queer and anti-trans legislation, it’s been hard to process how company’s [sic] expect us to be productive while our rights are being stripped away."

Lopez then went on to explain that each Friday "one of my tasks was to process reports for upcoming releases" and then to email his work to 275 people.

But instead of doing the usual process reports, he wrote an email that read: "I didn’t do them today."

"I’m in mourning due to the attack on people with uteruses in the US. Federally guaranteed access to child sacrifice abortion is gone," the email continued.

[NYPOST] Former President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
lashed out at Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) on Monday, calling her a "despicable human being" a day after the congresswoman said in an interview that the Jan. 6 committee may refer the 45th president to the Justice Department for potential prosecution over his role in the Capitol riot.

"Warmongering and despicable human being Liz Cheney, who is hated by the great people of Wyoming (down 35!), keeps saying, over and over again, that HER Fake Unselect Committee may recommend CRIMINAL CHARGES against a President of the United States who got more votes than any sitting President in history," Trump said on Truth Social.

"Even the Dems didn’t know what she was talking about! Why doesn’t she press charges instead against those that cheated on the Election, or those that didn’t properly protect the Capitol?" he added.

In a subsequent post, the former president raged: "Why doesn’t the highly partisan Unselect Committee of political Thugs, the same people (all Trump haters & profiteers — books, speeches, etc.) that were involved with Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax # 2, the ’No Collusion’ Mueller Report and, overall, the GREATEST WITCH HUNT IN THE HISTORY OF THE USA, go after the people who have been rioting, burning down cities, leading the massive crime wave, & killing many all over the U.S., including drug & human traffickers? 11:40 An asphalt-concrete plant starts working in Melitopol. Employees of the utility company make a list of streets that require repair in the first place.

11:20 The situation in the Nikolaevsko-Krivoy Rog direction as of 11.00 July 4, 2022:

▪️In the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted an offensive at the Snigirevka-Lozovoe-Belaya Krinitsa line, as well as on Kirovo-Posad-Pokrovskoye.
▪️Before this, units of the 63rd and 35th Infantry Regiments cleared the area in the direction of Lozovoye - Belaya Krinitsa.
▪️At least three sabotage and reconnaissance groups were sent to the gray zone in the vicinity of Snigirevka. The cover of the DRG was carried out by several calculations of the Stinger MANPADS.
▪️In reserve, ready to join the battle and provide support in the offensive, were the forces of the reserve corps and 241 brigades of the defense.
▪️A few hours before the offensive, Aleksandrovka, Shirokaya Beam, Kiselevka, Lozovoye, Ishchenko, Belogorka, Lyubimovka, Kreshchenovka, Davydov Brod, and Vysokopolie were shelled.
▪️Russian units, having revealed the intention of the Ukrainian side, launched massive strikes on the areas of concentration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kirovo, Shevchenkovo, Olenivka, Mirny, Novoaleksandrovka, Bereznogovat, Shiroky.
▪️There were clashes in the vicinity of Novogrigorovka and at the turn of Lozovoye - Belaya Krinitsa. The situation was monitored by two Bayraktar UAVs from the Kanatovo airfield.

Over the past day, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine again attempted an offensive. However, just as in the case of the attack on Ivanovka, Ukrainian forces are trying to gain a foothold in the gray zone and present it as a victory.

Such aspirations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are connected with the desire to demonstrate success in other areas due to the loss of the LPR. For this reason, Ukrainian troops are attacking with limited forces against positions that mean nothing from a strategic point of view, while wasting huge resources.

This is the main reason for the belligerent statements of Ukrainian authorities and pro-Ukrainian Telegram channels about the approach of the front to Kherson, which is not true. However, the Ukrainian command will try to compensate for the losses in the Donbass with an important informational occasion, so the Armed Forces of Ukraine should be expected to continue the offensive in different sectors of the front in search of the weakest points.

10:35 The air town was left without electricity, water and sewerage after Ukrainian missiles that were sent to Melitopol

The military-civilian administration provided the residents with water. Municipal services delivered several tanks with drinking water to the microdistrict. Infrastructure damage surveys are being carried out for repair work.

Afghanistan
2 Killed, 20 Wounded in 2 Gunmen Attacks in Herat
[ToloNews] At least two people were killed and at around 20 were maimed in two separate attacks by unknown button men in Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
city, officials said on Monday.

The first attack targeted a vehicle of the Herat air force in PD 4 and the second attack targeted a vehicle carrying personnel from the 207 Corps in PD8 of Herat city.

At least two students were also maimed in the attack.

The security department said that one of the attackers was killed by the security forces but another one escaped.

The maimed were brought to a hospital.

"Several gunnies attacked a 207 Corps vehicle and two personnel were killed and several others were maimed. The security forces reached the area and killed the attackers. The MoD expresses deep condolences for the martyred and wishes urgent recovery for the injured," said Enayatulah Khawarazmi, MoD front man.

The witness said that attackers succeeded in escaping from the area after the attack.

"They attacked a bus and once the bus stopped they threw grenades inside. While the Islamic Emirate forces were coming out, they opened fire on them," said Enayatullah, a witness.

The attack has raised severe concerns among the residents of Herat.

"We were inside the shop when the gunfire happened," said Abdul Satar, a resident of Herat.

"Unfortunately, the people of Afghanistan will be victims of insecurity and violence and it will cause further poverty and misery in Afghanistan," said Hassan Hakimi, a civil rights activist muppet.

No one has so far grabbed credit for the attack.
Khaama Press names the 207th as the Al Farooq Corps, adding:
Previously, an attack by a group called the Afghanistan Freedom Movement in northern Balkh province, targeted Taliban’s 209 Al-Fath Corps that resulted in the injuries of three people.

70 foreign ships remain blocked in Ukrainian ports
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] Dozens of foreign ships are still unable to leave the Black Sea ports due to mines and the threat of shelling from Ukraine. This was announced at a briefing on July 4 by the head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev .

"In six ports (Kherson, Nikolaev, Chernomorsk, Ochakov, Odessa and Yuzhny), 70 foreign ships from 16 states remain blocked. The threat of shelling and the high mine danger created by official Kiev do not allow ships to freely go to the open sea," said the Colonel General.

Mizintsev stressed that the Russian Armed Forces have created the necessary conditions for the operation of two maritime humanitarian corridors, which are safe lanes for the movement of ships. Detailed information about the order of their functioning is transmitted every 15 minutes via VHF radio on international channels in English and Russian.

Meanwhile, the Kyiv authorities "continue to do everything possible to evade interaction with representatives of foreign states and ship-owning companies in resolving the issue of ensuring the safe exit of blocked ships to assembly areas," said a representative of the Ministry of Defense.

At the same time, he emphasized, there is still a danger to navigation and damage to port infrastructure from the drift of Ukrainian mines torn from anchor along the coast of the Black Sea states.

"The Russian Federation is taking the whole range of measures to ensure the safety of civil navigation in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas," Mizintsev said.

Halifax Bank Tells Non-woke customers to leave
Canada, eh?
[TheLiberal] In a bizarre attempt at virtue signalling how over the top woke and progressive they are Halifax Bank has advised customers who do not agree with the current hysterical transgender ideology running rampant in the west should cease their business with the institution.

The bank's official twitter account tweeted on Tuesday in reply to those questioning if an announcement regarding employees at the bank having their preferred pronouns displayed on their name tags was parody,

The righteously indignant reply came swiftly from Halifax:

"We strive for inclusion, equality and quite simply, in doing what's right. If you disagree with our values, you're welcome to close your account. ^AndyM"
Halifax is part of the Lloyds Banking Group conglomerate. LYG stock took a 90% hit back in ~2008 and hasn't really recovered much at all.

#6  Banking (especially in Canada) is increasingly being treated as a privilege.

Better to get one’s money out now, then, and make one’s investments privately and in cash, or with a private bank not swayed by such fashionable nonsense. Or put together a private credit union for a few like minded friends - I believe that’s known as micro-banking in the Third World, and very popular in charitable circles.

#1  This one is a head scratcher for me. Certainly, you can see the small fast-movers traveling from Iran to Oman on a surface search radar, but I don’t know what authority we have to interdict traffic in the Gulf of Oman. Who are we planning on getting tips from? Iranians or Omani’s? To my knowledge, we don’t have a naval presence in either country. We probably still gas up in Oman, but I think the nearest naval set is in Bahrain or Dubai. This type of intel op does not seem like something that the Navy would be good at. The money would become more of a donation at best. At worst, we will interdict a shipment of dynamite with a remote detonator.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Day 2: At least 6 dead, dozens hurt in Highland Park July Fourth parade shooting
See yesterday’s attack here.
[NYPOST] Six people are dead and at least 24 injured in a mass shooting at a 4th of July parade in the wealthy reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
suburb of Highland Park on Monday, authorities said.Police said the gunman, who was still on the run hours later, randomly opened fire with a "high-powered rifle" from the roof of a building overlooking the parade route shortly after 10 a.m.

Five adults died at the scene and another gave up the ghost after being rushed to hospital, Lake County Coroner Jennifer Banek said. The age of that victim wasn’t immediately known.

At least one child was taken to hospital in a critical condition and many others suffered gunshot wounds to their abdomens and limbs, according to police.

Authorities believe the shooter, who was described as a white male with long dark hair and aged between 18 to 20 years, climbed onto the roof via a ladder attached to the building.

The rifle was later recovered from the roof, cops said, adding the shooter was "discreet and difficult to see" when he started killing off the innocent revelers.

One witness told WGN TV that he saw the shooter as the gunfire erupted, saying "he was very military style, methodical in the way he was crouched and shooting."

Other witnesses, including some who initially confused the gunshots for Independence Day fireworks, told the Chicago Sun Times they counted at least 20 shots being fired.

"I heard 20 to 25 shots, which were in rapid succession. So it couldn’t have been just a handgun or a shotgun," local resident Miles Zaremski said.

The Grand Turk
Iran, Russia and Turkey mull joint car production: Iran's state media
[AlAhram] Russia, slapped with sanctions by Western nations after invading Ukraine, was reported to have already asked Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
in May to supply it with key components it could no longer access.

As sanctions bite, the proposed cooperation on automobile constriction between the three nations could progress rapidly, Najafi-Manesh said.

"This idea can be realised very soon," he said.

"Manufacturing all the parts of this car... avoiding currency transfers to provide spare parts, and the existence of export markets are among the advantages of such a project."

He added that the idea was first floated by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
and that Russia was "interested".

Iran has also suffered under stringent economic sanctions, reimposed by the United States in 2018 after Washington unilaterally pulled out of a deal with world powers on Iran's nuclear programme.

Western carmakers have ventured into Russia to assemble cars over the past two decades as the country's economy expanded.

But since Moscow sent troops into Ukraine in February, numerous car makers have stopped sales of their cars or parts to Russia -- including Audi, Honda, Jaguar and Porsche.

Makes that have halted Russian production include BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Mercedes, Volkswagen and Volvo.

Iran and Turkey share a land border, while Russia shares a maritime border with Iran and Turkey across the Black Sea and Caspian Sea respectively.

Turkey already exports more than $12 billion worth of automobile spare parts annually, while Iran was ranked the 19th largest automaker in the world in 2021, according to the International Organization of Automobile Manufacturers.

Based on OICA data, Iranian automakers produced 894,298 vehicles in 2021, IRNA reported.

Not possible to evacuate all those who wanted to leave Lysychansk, - Valery Shibiko
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Oleksandr Kravchenko

[LB] It was not possible to evacuate everyone who wanted to leave Lysychansk in Luhansk region in time.

This was reported by the head of the Lysychansk Regional Council Valery Shibiko in a comment to Radio Svoboda.

"As much as we would like to take everyone out, the flow has increased a lot in recent days, and the shelling has also increased. We took out those we could, but I think we were unable to reach some areas in the depths of Lysychansk," he said.

According to Shibiko, some of the people who remain in the city were really waiting for the arrival of the Russian army . These are older people who still remember the Soviet Union, they are waiting for it and have waited.

"They believe that the Soviet Union has come to them now," he said.

As previously reported, the occupiers gained a foothold in Lysychansk . They also managed to force their way through Siverskyi Donets in order to capture Beilohorivka in the fifth month of the full-scale invasion. In addition, they occupied Zolotarivka.

The main thing for the day. Monday, July 4

[LB] Ruined Luhansk region, HIMARS at work, our national idea and Spinraza in Ukraine. How will the 131st day of the full-scale war be remembered.

The Russian invaders, in order to justify the destruction of civilian objects - churches, schools, hospitals - make information about the location of Ukrainian military units there.

The command urged Ukrainians to trust information only from verified sources and not to spread Russian fakes and disinformation.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian defenders, as the General Staff said, continue to inflict losses on the Russians and repulse many enemy attacks. Thus, in the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian fighters stopped the enemy assault in the direction of Sosnivka and pushed back the Russians, and in the Kramatorsk direction, they repelled the assault in the settlement of Bilogorivka. The occupiers left.

The head of the Luhansk regional military administration , Serhiy Gaidai , said that a small part of the territory of the Luhansk region still remains under the control of the Ukrainian military.

"We are defending a small part of Luhansk region so that our military has time to build defensive redoubts. Fighting continues in the Belogorivka area," Gaidai noted.

A total of 90 percent of Luhansk region's infrastructure is destroyed, 60 percent of buildings cannot be restored.

Journalists of the French TV channel FRANCE 24 came under fire while working on a story about Ukrainian rescuers in Donetsk region.

Together with the French journalists, the rescuers and local residents who came to collect water delivered by the State Emergency Service workers were under fire.

The journalists did not cut the shots of the Russian shelling from the plot.

In the Izyum direction, the Ukrainian military struck enemy warehouses with ammunition for the occupiers' artillery.

The military released a video of the destruction of enemy stocks.

Our defenders also published a vivid photo of the operation of the HIMARS missile systems in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

"Combat work of HIMARS. Zaporizhzhia direction. Nice, fast, accurate," the military emphasized.

-Land of the Free
Supreme Court Targets the Real Enemy
[Epoch Times] The flurry of rulings from the Supreme Court has everyone’s head spinning. The most significant among them, even if it doesn’t capture all the headlines, is West Virginia v. EPA. The majority opinion is impressive, but the part I found truly wonderful is the concurring opinion by Justice Neil Gorsuch.

This is where we see things headed, toward a major and much-welcome curbing of the power of the administrative state.

Just to review what this thing is, it’s an unelected bureaucracy that rules the country without oversight from voters or legislatures. For well over 100 years, most courts have given it a pass, just assuming that the "experts" in the bureaucracies are handling things just fine, faithfully interpreting legislation, and merely creating rules for easy compliance.

Generations have gone by as this fourth branch of government has grown in size, scope, and strength. For the most part, its baneful impositions have been felt by one business or one industry at a time. You have heard the stories. The car dealer complains about how the Department of Labor is making him crazy. The machine-parts manufacturer is going bonkers about letters from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The energy company can never satisfy the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

They are stories and we find them unfortunate, but we’ve generally avoided thinking of these as systematic, all-pervasive, and truly dangerous to the idea of freedom itself. However, there are some 432 of these agencies. The authors of the Declaration of Independence noted their existence back in the day when they accused the English king of having "erected a Multitude of new Offices, and sent hither Swarms of Officers to harass our People, and eat out their Substance."

They fought a revolution to end the tyranny but now we have a home-grown form, starting in 1883 with the Pendleton Act and continuing throughout the 20th century as each new administration creates its own bureaucracy.

The thing has taken on a power of its own. Strangely, the topic hardly comes up at all during elections, and that’s for a reason. Politicians running for office like to advertise their power to make change. They might even believe it. In reality, though, elected officials have very little influence over the conduct of public life relative to the administrative state.

As Trump found, not even the president is a match for the deep state.

Here’s what has happened since March 2020: The beast showed its face. Seemingly out of nowhere, these strange agencies and people for whom we never voted were ruling our lives. They restricted travel, forced us to cover our faces, closed our churches and schools, and forbid our businesses from operating unless they were big enough to afford a powerful lobbying arm in Washington. The whole scene was appalling. It caused many people—including some earnest judges—to take notice....

Nice that they took my recommendations into consideration but that implied they did the same for other bozos too. Kinda explains in a nutshell the conflicting paragraphs in final issues. The regulators were not only too lazy to write the regs, they were too lazy to proofread them

Eight killed, dozens arrested in al-Hol in June
[Rudaw] The notorious al-Hol camp in northeast Syria (Rojava) saw a total of eight murders over the past month, a conflict monitor reported Sunday, adding that security forces also conducted dozens of arrests in the facility.

Al-Hol camp continues to pose a serious security risk and violence in the camp continues to regularly lead to murders, with the camp seeing a total of eight deaths as a result of seven crimes in June, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.

The murders in the camp are those of four Syrian women, three unidentified women, and one unidentified man.

Internal security forces (Asayish) in the camp also carried out 16 arrests in the squalid camp in June, attempting to assert control over the vicinity of what SOHR describes as a "mini-state" for the Islamic State

'City gonna burn': Akron police fire tear gas to quell rioters
  • [Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] On the fourth day of protests on Sunday after the shooting death of Jayland Walker, police in Akron fired tear gas on protesters outside of a courthouse

  • Walker was shot dead on June 27 after being hit 60 times by police officers following a traffic stop

  • One reporter said that cops used at least 'a dozen' tear gas cans on protesters

  • Following the deployment of tear gas, most of the protesters dispersed

  • A statement from the Fraternal Order of Police said that the car that Walker was driving was involved in a police chase the day before he was killed

#1  I really think at times the police should ditch tasers, beanbags, pepper spray, batons etc. If you run or resist, you get shot. You stop getting shot when you stop and start complying.

Think of it as evolution in action.

#2  Certainly he made a mistake. Akron police don’t have a reputation for malfeasance. There isn’t a history of bad race relations there to my knowledge. There was more BLM garbage in Cleveland and Youngstown as I remember. The city had been undergoing a refurb lately. Before Covid, I volunteered in a soup kitchen in the city on some Saturdays. The poor were a mix of black and white with few issues that I saw. Not sure how busting windows in struggling businesses will help. I expect it is outsiders doing the same, but it looks like the crowds were pretty small as compared to the BLM Cleveland hijinks.

#5  Analysis -

Investigators and experts on the use of force will sort out this incident, and I don’t know what the final conclusion will be. In the meantime, I have some comments and questions.

* Two facts that are repeated endlessly in the press are that Walker was black, and he was unarmed. He was unarmed because he left his gun on the seat of his car when he fled police on foot. And would the case have made national and international news if Walker had been white?

* What happened here was that police officers tried to pull Walker over for a traffic violation. Instead of pulling his car over like anyone else would do, he led the police on a long chase at high speed. The videos appear to show that along the way, he fired his gun out his window at the pursuing police vehicle. In any event, the police certainly thought he did.

* Police officers had every reason to believe that a suspect who flees a routine traffic stop and fires on officers is engaged in serious criminality, above and beyond those acts.

* Eventually Walker’s vehicle was pursued by multiple squad cars. He finally was cornered but still did not surrender. He pulled his car off the street and continued moving on a boulevard next to a park. While still moving, he exited his car on the passenger side and ran away from the officers. They had every reason to think he may have been carrying his gun, but in fact he had left it on the driver’s seat of his car.

* Multiple officers chased Walker, and one or more tried to tase him. That effort failed. It was dark and it is not easy to see what is going on in the videos; no doubt it was hard for the officers to know what was happening, too. But Walker, having ignored numerous demands that he stop and surrender to the police, turned toward them. Officers thought he posed a threat, that he would fire at them again, and they shot him.

Florida man with 'hustle eat sleep repeat' tattoo charged with throwing wiener at police officer
[NYPOST] A Tampa Bay area man was arrested Saturday for allegedly throwing a hot dog at an officer who warned him he was violating a city ordinance, according to a local report.

Jason Stoll, 47, is charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer without violence.

Around 12 a.m. Saturday, a St. Petersburg police officer told Stoll he could no longer sell hot dogs in the roadway after his street closure permit ended, according to court documents obtained by WFLA.

An officer asked Stoll to close up shop, but he continued to try selling a hot dog, the court documents say. Stoll became frustrated and threw a hot dog at the officer, who was in full uniform at the time of the incident, according to the station.

Stoll, who lives in New Port Richey, was booked into the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Online court records show he is out after posting $2,500 bail.

The court records note he has many tattoos, including the phrases "hustle eat sleep repeat," and "what doesn’t kill me makes me stronger," among many others.

He faces a minimum of three years in jail if convicted.

Somalia: Boats carrying arms heading to Al-Shabaab run aground in Puntland
[Garowe] In recent months, the coastal areas in Puntland

and ISIS for years. The civil war in Yemen makes it possible for unscrupulous traders to take advantage.

On July 1, two boats were sighted with arms after running ground along Bandar-Bayla coast in Karkaar. There were 19 sailors on board, three of whom were foreigners and 16 Somalis, who ended up in jail.

According to authorities, the Puntland Maritime Police Force [PMPF] has managed to seize some of the weapons, including AK-47s while the rest fell into the hands of the local residents. The uncontrolled purchase of firearms has been a major boost for al-Shabaab in Somalia.

Garowe Online has further verified the reports having spoken to several security officials within the region. The smugglers are currently being grilled in jug in Puntland and waiting to be put on trial.

An official who did not want his name to be disclosed told Garowe Online that the boats were carrying the weapons to the al-Shabaab-controlled coastal town of Harar-Dhere in the Mudug region, central Somalia.

Areas under Puntland in the coastal areas are difficult for the authorities to maintain on a large scale, making it easier for them to land and export illegal goods. The reports of al-Shabaab getting weapons from Yemen have been in the public domain for a long.

Illegal arms trafficking has been on the rise in the coastal areas of Puntland in recent months. The government has, however, tried to put various mitigation measures to curb the crime.

Arestovich called the surrender of Lysichansk a successful operation of the Ukrainian troops
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[RIA Novosti] Aleksey Arestovich, an adviser to the head of Volodymyr Zelensky's office, called the surrender of Lisichansk and Severodonetsk a successful operation by the Ukrainian military.

"The defense of the Lisichansk-Severodonetsk agglomeration is a successful military operation. Its main tasks were: to pin down the main enemy forces, inflict losses on them, buy time for the supply of Western weapons and improve the second line of defense, create conditions for our offensive operations in other sectors of the front," — wrote Arestovich in the Telegram channel. According to him, "all tasks of the operation have been completed." He is convinced that Ukrainian troops will be able to take Lysichansk back under their control.

"Today is a holiday in the city": the liberation of Lisichansk

“One of the main achievements of this operation is the broken Red Army stereotype “not a step back”, which for eight years, by inertia, dominated our military thought and cost us both Ilovaisk and the fall of the DAP (Donetsk airport. - Approx. ed.), 32- And the breaking of a stereotype is worth a lot. This is the birth of a national military school... For once, we made them beautiful again," Arestovich said.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the liberation of the Lugansk People's Republic . As a result of successful military operations, the Russian Armed Forces, together with units of the People's Militia of the LPR, established full control over Lisichansk, the last city in the republic in which Ukrainian troops were stationed, as well as over a number of nearby settlements, the largest of which are Belogorovka, Novodruzhesk, Maloryazantsevo and Belaya Gora.

Leaving the city, Ukrainian militants blew up and destroyed some of the important administrative buildings, including the city hall. The correspondent of RIA Novosti reported that the military allied forces, having entered the city, hoisted the Banner of Victory on the destroyed administration building. Earlier, another large city of the LPR was liberated - Severodonetsk , in which the important chemical plant "Azot" is located.

Therefore this war is not just ours, not just a local one - somewhere in the east of Europe. This is Russia's attack on everything that is of value to you and me. Therefore, the restoration of Ukraine is not a local project, not a project of one people, but a common task of all democratic world - all countries that can say about themselves: we are civilized. Rebuilding Ukraine means restoring the principles of life, restoring the expanse of life, restoring what makes people human."

16:17 The EU is ready to create an international platform for the restoration of Ukraine after the war, said the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

16:05 Putin is convinced that he is already at war with Europe, Podolyak said: "Gas blackmail, rising prices, migration crisis, cyber attacks, propaganda ... Each element is part of a larger picture: from Putin's point of view, he is already at war with "Europe. Many EU leaders understand this. For the rest, it's better to say goodbye to dangerous illusions."

16:02 A possible visit of the Pope to Kiev will support the spirit of Ukrainians and strengthen the peacekeeping mission of the Holy See, said the speaker of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleg Nikolenko.

15:58 Russia pays Bulgarian public figures for spreading propaganda, Lena Borislavova, government spokeswoman and head of the Bulgarian Prime Minister's Office, told Euractiv. According to her, local public figures, journalists and politicians receive 2,000 euros a month for forming a positive public opinion about the Russian Federation: “To all of you who spit on the EU and NATO for free, and also support Putin’s actions in Ukraine, know that you screwed up. who inspire you to do it, get paid. Monthly."

15:55 The EU is seeking to agree on the seventh package of sanctions against Russia by the end of July, Rikard Jozwiak, a European journalist for Radio Liberty, said. According to him, the seventh package will close some loopholes not taken into account by previous sanctions, and will also impose an embargo on Russian gold.

15:53 The Economist's information that Ukrainian units are located a kilometer from the outskirts of Kherson is untrue and harms the military operation, said Natalya Humenyuk, head of the joint coordination press center of the Pivden operational command: "Only the military can comment on the advance of troops. Any analysts , deputies, other political and just active figures at the moment only harm with such statements.Firstly, it does not correspond to reality, and secondly, it disorients our people, the local population, it harms not only the military operation, but, in the end , and the image of those who claim it."

15:45 Ukrainian border guards have not yet recorded the formation of a strike group of Russian troops for an offensive from the territory of Belarus, Transnistria or through the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, said Andrei Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Service. According to him, the Russian Federation continues to hold separate units of the armed forces in the border areas of the Bryansk and Kursk regions - this is done to demonstrate the presence and constrain the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the Russians do not stop shelling the territory of Chernihiv and especially Sumy regions.

15:36 The EU is discussing the creation of a single body for the implementation of the sanctions policy. High-ranking officials in Brussels are discussing the creation of such a body, as more stringent and consistent application of sanctions is needed, writes the FT.

This can be a really effective solution, allowing sanctions decisions to be made faster than it is now according to the formula of seeking consensus among all EU members, Yermak believes.

15:33 In Mariupol, the invaders are preparing for the Ukrainian counteroffensive. Thus, the Russians are installing anti-tank hedgehogs in the city center and digging in equipment almost in the middle of Mira Avenue, suddenly reinforcing the regime again and re-locating stationary checkpoints around the city, said Petr Andryushchenko, an adviser to the mayor. Also, the Russians, according to him, are building fortifications at an accelerated pace, hiding behind a residential area, guarding the railway line throughout the city and not allowing Mariupol residents to work there. In addition, mining is carried out in the fields in the direction of Novoazovsk.

15:27 A "natural exchange" of goods is being introduced in the stores of occupied Kherson. According to Ukrainian military intelligence, sellers each time separately agree with buyers on the rate of such an exchange. Numerous cases of food loans are also recorded, when sellers sell goods on credit at 10-20%.

Cases of abductions of former heads of communal institutions and organizations, mid-level heads of local executive authorities who do not want to cooperate with the occupiers have become more frequent in the city. And about 20 boxes of materials about voters living on the territory of Kherson were taken out from institutions that kept records of voters during the election campaigns. Probably, this is connected with another attempt to hold the so-called "referendum", notes the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Moscow Region.

15:22 In Moscow, a territory has been chosen by voting for a name in honor of the "Luhansk People's Republic" - near the British Embassy.

15:09 The world's first full-scale cyber war is now underway in Ukraine, said Yuriy Shchigol, head of the State Special Communications Service. According to him, Russian hackers often work outside official state structures, but are deeply integrated into the Russian intelligence services, and their activities are coordinated with other military activities.

At the same time, just as the Russian army systematically ignores the rules of war, Russian hackers behave quite unscrupulously in cyberspace. Their targets are critical infrastructures such as energy and utilities, hospitals and first responders, the financial system, logistics that assist organizations. During the period of the largest flow of Ukrainian refugees, hackers also attacked humanitarian organizations, Shchigol said.

15:04 In wartime conditions, full-time education will be introduced in Ukraine in agreement with the authorities, said the head of the Ministry of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet. So, if there is a danger, educational institutions will switch to a distance or blended learning format. If in the shelter at the educational institution there are not enough places for everyone, then in this case it is recommended to divide the training into several shifts.

An option is also being considered in which some of the subjects can be taught offline, and some online. If parents are afraid of full-time education, then they will be able to choose another form of education for the child - remote, individual or external.

14:55 Putin said that the units that took part in the battles in the Lugansk region "must rest, increase their combat capabilities." In addition, he announced that he would sign a decree conferring the title of Hero of Russia to Generals Lapin (who commanded the troops advancing on Lisichansk) and Abachev. According to Putin, Generals Lapin and Surovikin (commander of the Aerospace Forces) reported to him proposals for continuing the "special operation" in Ukraine.

14:47 In the Donetsk region, journalists of the French television channel France 24 came under fire. TV crews, along with rescuers, were delivering water to civilians, the State Emergency Service reported.

14:41 Arestovich explained why the retreat from Lysichansk is good for Ukraine. So, according to him, thanks to the operation, it was possible to pin down the main enemy forces, inflict damage on them, buy time for the supply of Western weapons and improve the second line of defense, and also create conditions for offensive operations in other sectors of the front.

According to the adviser to the head of the Presidential Administration, one of the main achievements of this operation was "the broken Red Army stereotype" not one step back ", which for eight years by inertia put pressure on the military opinion of Ukrainians and cost Ukraine and Ilovaisk, and the fall of the DAP, the 32nd checkpoint." He stressed that "breaking the stereotype is very expensive, it is the birth of a national military school."

14:30 Energoatom reports that the massive missile strikes of the RF Armed Forces in the area of the Uglegorsk TPP, which the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in the morning report, occurred on the line of contact with the thermal power plant. Also the day before, local media reported about the fire of tanks with fuel oil due to shells.

14:24 Ukraine and Switzerland have signed an agreement providing for "green" investments in projects in energy, heat supply and industry, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said. According to him, in exchange for these investments, Switzerland will receive verified results from Ukraine on climate change mitigation.

In turn, Energy Minister German Galushchenko said that Ukraine wants to build 7.1 GW of new green energy capacities. At the first stage, in order to increase the stability of the energy system, it is planned to build 750 MW of storage capacities. The Ministry of Energy is also exploring the possibility of exporting 10 GW of hydrogen to the EU.

13:46 The military operation on Zmeinoye has been completed, the Ukrainian flag has been installed there , said Natalya Gumenyuk, head of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces.

13:15 The "Supreme Court of the DPR" received a cassation complaint from the convicted Moroccan Saadun Brahim, who fought for Ukraine, Russian media write.

13:13 70 Russian diplomats and members of their families were expelled from Bulgaria. According to the Bulgarian press, the total number of passengers who have left the country is more than 180, writes Euroactiv. "We are expelling 70 Russian diplomats. Anyone who works for foreign interests will be called to return to the country they came from," outgoing Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said, congratulating the Bulgarian security services on a job well done.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Bulgaria had reduced "to a minimum, even to zero" the possibility of the functioning of the Russian embassy in Sofia.

12:58 Stories about "Nazis" in Ukraine have become the central theme of Kremlin propaganda only since February 24, writes The New York Times and cites data from the analytical company Semantic Visions. She has analyzed nearly 8 million articles about Ukraine collected from more than 8,000 Russian websites since 2014. The study found that the number of references to Nazism was relatively flat for eight years before rising sharply to an unprecedented level on February 24 and has remained high ever since.

12:53 According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia is working on several scenarios for the occupied territories of Ukraine - from annexation to the creation of quasi-republics, said Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine. He confirmed that the Russians are preparing pseudo-referendums for September 11 in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, but a single scenario has not yet been determined.

"They are preparing to join, but in parallel with this there are other options. The creation of new "people's republics", the creation of one large "people's republic", the annexation of a vast territory to Russia, the annexation of a separate territory to Russia - all this will be decided, as always in Russia , on the last day," Budanov said.

12:47 The leader of the "LPR" Pasechnik said that after the "liberation" of the territories, it is necessary to "push the enemy further for safety, the task of denazification of the territory of all Ukraine has not been canceled."

12:44 Borrell said that the EU is actively reducing gas and oil imports from Russia, and by the end of 2022, the union countries expect to reduce oil supplies by 90%. He stressed that such decisions will free the EU from the dependence and political pressure of "Putin's aggression." Borrell is also convinced that the sanctions have already proved their effectiveness and "strongly hit Putin and his accomplices." Thus, Russia for all technologies is 45% dependent on Europe and 21% on the United States, while on China - only 11%.

12:40 Occupants in Crimea are preparing for forced mobilization, reports the Representation of the President of Ukraine in Crimea. So, recently a decree of the so-called "head of the Republic of Crimea" appeared, which created a "draft commission for the mobilization of citizens." Ukrainians in the occupied Crimea are urged to sabotage the decision of the occupiers and do everything possible to avoid mobilization.

12:37 Peskov said that the Russian "special operation" in Ukraine "is going according to plan, moving forward in accordance with existing plans and adjustments." He also stressed that Putin this year will not congratulate Biden and the Americans on Independence Day, because "this year has become the culmination of an unfriendly policy on the part of the United States."

12:26 The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the four largest ammunition depots in the Donetsk region in two weeks, Girkin said. Earlier today, the media reported that one of the largest Russian ammunition depots in Snezhnoye had been destroyed.

12:23 Ukrainian troops left Lisichansk without loss, head of the Lugansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai said in an interview with the BBC: "Our military could hold the city for a long time, but now Russia has a huge advantage in artillery and ammunition. They would simply destroy the city from afar, so there was no point in staying. We would have been surrounded and had to sit there while the city was shelled. So we decided not to allow the encirclement. We decided to withdraw to ready-made fortified positions further west, occupy them and continue the fight against the Russian army from there. As a result , all left without loss.

12:07 In the Black Sea, Russian ships with 28 Caliber class missiles on board are on alert, said Sergey Bratchuk, speaker of the Odessa OVA. He also noted that the enemy tried to activate aerial reconnaissance, but the Defense Forces prevented the operation.

12:01 In Mariupol, up to 3% of local residents have access to water - this is now the main problem of the city, said Mayor's adviser Petr Andryushchenko. According to him, Mariupol residents are forced to overcome kilometers in the morning to get into queues at water collection points. Water is collected everywhere, including sewer wells, where water appeared after experiments with water supply.

11:58 State budget expenditures in June amounted to UAH 232 billion, People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak said: "This, of course, is still a very large amount, but already less than it was in May (UAH 251 billion). But given the volume of foreign aid in June, the gap completely closed."

11:56 SBU neutralized Russian agents reconnaissance of the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in southern Ukraine. During a special operation in the Nikolaev region, three deeply concealed enemy agents were detained. They reconnoitered the combat positions and movements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the geolocation of strategic critical infrastructure facilities in the region.

11:29 "Soft" Ukrainization will begin in Krivoy Rog, head of the city's VA Oleksandr Vilkul said. According to him, from July 1, the military administration has organized clubs We communicate in Ukrainian in every district of the city, classes will be free. They want to invite writers, artists, specialized specialists on various topics to the clubs for communication. In addition to offline courses, there will also be an online program We speak Ukrainian correctly .

11:24 In Severodonetsk, the occupiers are trying to resume administrative activities, said the mayor of the city Alexander Stryuk. So, they have already created a commandant's office, they are looking for specialists in housing and communal services, they are going to conduct a census of children. Stryuk also said that if the Russians succeed in restoring electricity, it will not be enough even to launch pumping stations.

11:10 Pope Francis said that after a trip to Canada on July 24-30, he would like to visit Moscow and Kiev.

10:47 Russia's activation of the use of missiles against Ukraine is connected with the change of the head of the "special operation", Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine: "The head of the, as they say, "special military operation" in Ukraine has changed, he became the commander of the air forces He knows how to fight with bombers and missiles, so he does what he can."

According to Budanov, Russia clearly understands where, plus or minus, their missiles will hit: “Yes, there are questions regarding their low accuracy, but they understand that these will be attacks on the civilian population. They are absolutely fine with this, you can even see it on official rhetoric, what they say is, in principle, not very justified.

Budanov also does not believe that Russia will use nuclear weapons. In his opinion, the Kremlin clearly understands that the use of nuclear weapons will simply hasten the collapse of Russia.

10:39 Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albaniz, after a visit to Ukraine, expressed support for our country: "President Zelensky has demonstrated the courage and leadership characteristic of his people in the face of Russia's brutal and illegal invasion. My visit to Ukraine sends a clear message that democratic countries, such as Australia will support the Ukrainian people in difficult times."

10:36 Steinmeier predicts the beginning of a "new era" after the war in Ukraine. In his opinion, no one will be able to return to normal politics and business after the war, and countries should now reduce their dependence on authoritarian regimes. Now the world needs a political, military and economic reorientation, Steinmeier said: "We must make our democracies, our economies sustainable, without losing sight of our goals: a rules-based world order and a liberal, fair and climate-friendly global economy."

One of these goals should be independence from authoritarian states, while it is necessary to find new partners, Steinmeier urged. According to him, these could be countries such as Singapore, Indonesia and African countries.

10:33 British intelligence reports that Ukrainian forces have left the last major settlement in the Lugansk region, which is under the control of Ukraine. Now the attention of the Russian Federation will almost certainly switch to the capture of the Donetsk region. The fight for Donbas "was stubborn and exhausting, and this is unlikely to change in the coming weeks," experts say.

Analysts also note that, despite the abandonment of the Serpent's Island, Russia continues to have a destructive influence on the agricultural sector of Ukraine. Exports of Ukrainian agricultural products in 2022, according to their forecasts, are unlikely to exceed 35% of the total volume in 2021.

10:24 The war in Ukraine will end in 2023 - such an opinion was expressed in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense Kirill Budanov. According to him, the first visible results of the turning point in the war will be already in August this year, and by the end of 2022, active hostilities will significantly decrease. He predicts the end of the war next year, and Budanov considers the end of the war to be “reaching the borders as of 1991”.

He also noted that at this stage there is no threat from the Belarusian army to Ukraine: there are very few Russian troops on the territory of Belarus, and what is happening near our borders are planned activities, preparations for the offensive are not being carried out.

10:18 The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine warns that today there are a large number of cases when Russian special services, under the guise of authorized state services or "public organizations", contacted the families of Ukrainian defenders in order to allegedly "provide information" about the military or "facilitate release from captivity ". In fact, this is done in order to obtain information. Ukrainian intelligence asks not to transfer any data to unverified persons and reminds that only state authorities and responsible institutions or organizations are engaged in the exchange of prisoners or the search for missing defenders.

09:47 In the Luhansk region, the defense of the remaining territories is still underway, said the head of the OVA Serhiy Gaidai. According to him, this is necessary so that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have time to build fortifications in new positions. Gaidai added that about 8,000 people remained in Severodonetsk, and 10,000 in Lisichansk.

09:34 The General Staff studied the estimated losses of the enemy on the morning of July 4. The enemy suffered the greatest losses in the Slavic and Donetsk directions.

  • personnel - about 36,200 (+230) people liquidated,

  • tanks - 1589 (+5),

  • armored combat vehicles - 3754 (+10),

  • artillery systems - 804 (+3),

  • MLRS - 246 (+0),

  • air defense systems - 105 (+0),

  • aircraft - 217 (+0),

  • helicopters - 187 (+0),

  • UAV operational-tactical level - 658 (+4),

  • cruise missiles - 144 (+0),

  • ships/boats - 15 (+0),

  • automotive equipment and tankers - 2629 (+11),

  • special equipment - 65 (+1).

09:07 According to the updated information of the mayor of Slavyansk Vadim Lyakh, as a result of yesterday's massive shelling of the city, six people were killed, including a ten-year-old girl, another 19 were injured.

08:49 This morning, the Russian army attacked the Shevchenkovsky district of Kharkiv, as a result of which a comprehensive school was destroyed, Oleg Sinegubov, head of the OVA, said. Three people died in the area in one day.

08:28 In the controlled part of the Donetsk region over the past day, nine civilians were killed by Russian shelling: six in Slavyansk, one each in Avdeevka, Bakhmut and Zaitsevo, said the head of the OVA Pavel Kirilenko. Two children were among the dead. Another 25 people were injured.

08:25 Today, the official part of The Ukraine Recovery Conference 2022 begins in Lugano, Switzerland, at which the "Marshall Plan" for the restoration of Ukraine will be presented. In the EU, they talked about contributing 500 billion euros to implement the plan.

08:22 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) predicts that after the capture of Lisichansk and the settlements around it, the Russians will advance on Seversk , or intensify attacks on Bakhmut or Slavyansk.

08:19 The Russians entrenched themselves in Lisichansk, they also managed to force the Seversky Donets River and capture Belogorovka and Zolotarevka, said the head of the Luhansk OVA, Sergei Gaidai.

08:13 The New York Times writes, citing military experts and interlocutors from Ukraine, that after the restoration of forces and regrouping, the Russians are likely to attack Bakhmut, a strategic hub of the Ukrainian armed forces. They will attack there from the direction of Popasnaya. In the meantime, they will storm Bakhmut, the forces of the Russian Federation to the north and west will conduct holding battles so that the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot transfer forces to the south. At the same time, the ultimate strategy here will be the creation of another "cauldron" around the large industrial cities of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, experts say.

07:58 Russian troops are conducting assault operations in the Slavyansk, Kurakhovsky and Avdeevsky directions, are fixed in the areas of Lisichansk and Belogorovka, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in the morning report . In the Donbas, the invaders are trying to push the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the Seversk-Fedorovka-Bakhmut line. The Russians moved 17 wagons with ammunition from the Crimea to the Kalanchak railway station in the village of Mirnoye, Kherson region.

07:46 The Russians fired artillery at two communities in the Krivoy Rog region - Zelenodolskaya and Shirokovskaya, said the head of the Dnepropetrovsk OVA Valentin Reznichenko. They beat on cities and villages, but people were not injured. In Shestern, the windows in the kindergarten were shattered by the blast wave.

07:41 In the Nikolaev region, the Ukrainian military opened fire on two enemy ammunition depots in the Bashtansky and Snigirevsky districts, OK Pivden reported. There is confirmation of the liquidation of one warehouse, the rest of the results are being explored. The enemy UAV Orlan-10, which was reconnoitering the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region, was also eliminated.

05:13 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports that Lisichansk and the region to the west of it were in charge of the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel General Alexander Lapin and the commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces, General of the Army Sergei Suvorikin (who also commands the "southern" group Russian troops in Ukraine). Analysts note that the involvement of two such high-ranking officers involved in the same case on a small sector of the front is noticeable and probably indicates the importance Putin attaches to the capture of Lysychansk and the border of the Luhansk region, as well as his distrust of junior officers.

03:20 G7 plans to halve the maximum price of Russian oil, said Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida: "We will set an upper limit at about half of the current price and create a mechanism that will not allow you to buy it more expensive."

01:36 Great Britain in 2023 will hold a conference URC2022 dedicated to the restoration of Ukraine, said Foreign Minister Liz Truss. She also said that London is considering the possibility of confiscating frozen Russian assets in order to transfer them to Ukraine. That would likely require legislation, but not necessarily, to do so, Truss said.

01:08 More than 400 bodies of dead defenders have been returned to Ukraine, Vereshchuk said on the air of the telethon. At the same time, she emphasized that there are much more bodies.

00:49 Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albaniz, after a visit to the Antonov airfield in Gostomel, said that the world community must certainly help Ukraine build the world's largest aircraft.

00:35 In the evening, the Russians fired mortars at the territory and the premises of the Ata psycho-neurological boarding school in the Sumy region, after which they covered it with artillery. At least three people were injured - these are patients of the institution who are in the hospital, said the head of the Sumy OVA Dmitry Zhivitsky. As a result of the shelling, a fire broke out in the dining room of the institution, the administrative building and the hostel were destroyed.

00:27 The Melitopol airfield as a military base of the Russians no longer exists, the mayor of the city Ivan Fedorov said on the air of the telethon. According to him, after the first night shelling, the invaders began to evacuate all personnel, and after the second strike at about 6:00, they began to take out all the surviving equipment. According to Fedorov, several dozen Russian soldiers were injured as a result of these strikes.

00:14 Until the end of the year, Ukraine can receive up to $30 billion in financial lend-lease, Vasily Forman, deputy head of the NBU, said on the air of the telethon. At the same time, he highly appreciated the financial stability in Ukraine since February 24, noting that commercial banks can balance exchange rates. "Prices are rising all over the world, we have a factor of war, the destruction of supply chains - these factors do not depend on the government," he said, paying special attention to the fact that the National Bank is taking measures to pump out excess money supply so that inflation does not accelerate.

39 Holocaust Victims Recovered in Latvia
I follow this group on Facebook. They do good work, working with Russians as well as local authorities.
[LegendaArchaeology] In early June Legenda proudly took part in a recovery operation that harks back to the most chilling events of World War II - The Holocaust.

The sad story we became involved in starts back in the hot summer of 1941. German troops had entered Latvia only a week after the launch of Operation Barbarossa and on July 1 Riga had fallen. Less than 10 days later the whole of Latvia was fully under German control.

#1  My father was born in Riga in 1919. In 1934 his widowed mother emigrated with him to British Mandate Palestine. I don’t know how it was for him in Israel, but after he arrived in America in the late 1950s he had nothing to do with anyone from the old country. Said they were all antisemites. This story may have played into that opinon.

5-year-old killed, 8-year-old injured in Houston drive-by shooting
[NYPOST] A drive-by shooting in Houston, Texas left a 5-year-old child dead from gunshot wounds and an 8-year-old child injured early Sunday.

Houston police said a woman was waiting at a stoplight in the 13500 block of Northborough Drive in the Greenspoint neighborhood at around 1 a.m. when a dark-colored vehicle passed by.

Two people inside the vehicle opened fire, shooting multiple rounds into the woman’s car carrying her two children inside, reported Click2Houston.

The mother immediately drove her maimed children to an area hospital, where the 5-year-old was pronounced dead.

Authorities said the 8-year-old victim was expected to recover. The children have not been named as of Monday afternoon.

Investigators with the Houston Police Department said it is unclear at this time whether the vehicle or the mother were the intended targets of the button men.

Al-Shabaab militants killed in Kenya as the country heads to election next month
[Garowe] The Kenya Defense Forces [KDF] has announced the killing of al-Shabaab
...... the personification of Somali state failure...
turbans in the heavily encroached Boni forest along the Indian Ocean coast, in the latest operation targeting the notorious bully boyz within the country.

For years, the al-Shabaab group has been launching small to large-scale sporadic attacks in the East African country, necessitating the swift deployment of KDF turbans to Somalia. al-Shabaab has a solid base in the Horn of Africa nation.

In a statement, KDF confirmed that it killed 10 new al-Shabaab graduates during the operation near the Kenya-Somalia border within Lamu County. A multi-agency security team led by KDF has been conducting surveillance in the forest.

During the Friday operation, KDF noted, dozens of turbans who were plotting an attack, also managed to run away from the country. It's within Boni that al-Shabaab has been recruiting and training turbans especially those lured within Kenya according to authorities.

The operation was carried out between Sarira and Kolbio areas, within the expansive Boni Forest. Currently, there are hundreds of KDF soldiers and police within Boni forest according to government records.

"One Rocket Propelled Grenade [RPG] launcher, several assault weapons, assorted ammunitions as well as personal effects were recovered during the operations," KDF said.

Further reports show the turbans were part of the Jeysh Ayman team led by Maalim Ayman. They added that Ayman had planned to carry out attacks within the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Æthiopia Transport [LAPSSET] Corridor.

Al-Shabaab turbans have been targeting Mandera, Lamu, Garissa, and Wajir counties, forcing Kenya to deploy more soldiers across the border. There are also close to 3,500 KDF soldiers in Somalia working under African Union

Ukraine Future: Finnish Solution or Cyprus Solution
[BriefingsForBritain] Putin's original plan for Ukraine has failed. His response is escalation. The outcome is unclear. But the range of options is not unlimited, and history suggests the likely possibilities based on the way Russian statecraft and war operate. What is the best available outcome out of a range of imperfect ones?
Finnish Solution: keep portions of Donbas and Crimea and a landbridge - formal treaty, recognized boundaries

Cyprus Solution : keep more territory than in the Finnish solution but part of the Russian kept territory will be unrecognized internationally

#1  Failed?, hardly. Western media delusions. This will be done when Putin's Russia decides (Putin's replacement could be far more hostile). Cyprus solution is no solution. Just an eternal conflict. Nothing was resolved. Greeks and Turks have an eternal hatred. The gas fields might be the flash point for the future.

#3  Putin's original plan for Ukraine has failed

That is kinda sorta true. A neutral Ukraine, not part of NATO, with no foreign troops or large standing army, and all that chaos in the Donbass sorted out - yeah, that did not work out. So it is on to Plan B - secure defensible positions and fix Donbass. That seems to be working.
