Army suspends general's contract after tweet appearing to mock Jill Biden
[Axios] The Army has suspended a three-star general's contract and placed him under investigation after he posted a tweet that appeared to mock first lady Jill Biden, USA Today reports.

The big picture: Retired Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky, the Army's former top spokesman, responded to a tweet from Biden that said the rights of women had been stolen in the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

  • "For nearly 50 years, women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies. Today, that right was stolen from us," Biden tweeted.

  • "Glad to see you finally know what a woman is," Volesky said.

Details: Lt. Gen. Theodore Martin, commander of the Combined Arms Center, suspended Volesky while the investigation is underway, Cynthia Smith, an Army spokesperson, told USA Today.

  • Volesky, who was in charge of the Army's 101st Airborne Division, had signed a contract after he retired to advise active-duty officers as a senior mentor.

Between the lines: Volesky's response is a breach of decorum for a retired military officer, USA Today writes.

  • It's an unusual step into partisan politics by an official the Pentagon is paying, especially since the department typically steers clear of such matters.

  • Army Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said it was a "mistake" to make a June 2020 appearance with then-President Trump in Lafayette Square. "My presence in that moment and in that environment created a perception of the military involved in domestic politics," he said in a video message several days later.

  • Following the Jan 6 insurrection, Milley and the other Joint Chiefs sent a memo reminding troops of their oath to the Constitution.

Flashback: Volesky responded to a tweet from Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) when she announced that she would be on the Jan. 6 select committee and that their "oath to the Constitution must be above partisan politics."

  • "This is all about partisan politics," Volesky said.

A Lotta Love to Give: The Brilliant Voice and Too-Short Life of Nicolette Larson
[RS] When Nicolette Larson was growing up in Kansas City, Missouri, she’d ask her friends to drive over bumpy roads so she could show off her Neil Young impression. As the truck moved up and down, she’d break out into a shaky vibrato.

Just a few years later, the singer found herself in a pickup again, this time with the very man she once emulated. Young — who first worked with Larson on his 1977 LP American Stars ’n Bars, and briefly dated her afterward — was driving her around his Northern California ranch when she spotted a cassette tape on the floor containing songs that would wind up on his 1978 album Comes a Time.

"I picked it up, blew the dust off it, I stuck it in the cassette player, and ’Lotta Love’ came on," she told Jimmy McDonough in the Young biography Shakey. "I said, ’Neil, that’s a really good song.’ He said, ’You want it? It’s yours.’"

Larson recorded "Lotta Love" for her 1978 debut, Nicolette, which coincidentally landed on shelves the same day as Comes a Time. Produced by Ted Templeman, who also helmed records by Van Halen and the Doobie Brothers that same year, the song immediately transformed her from an obscure backup singer to a hit solo artist, peaking at Number Eight on the Billboard Hot 100. Rolling Stone called her the Female Singer of the Year, writing, "No one else could sound like she’s having so much fun for a whole album."

FBI chief says China is blackmailing dissenters in US to force them back home
[France24] FBI Director Christopher Wray on Tuesday urged China-born people in the United States to contact the FBI if Chinese officials try to force them to return to China under a program of coercion that he said is led by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Wray issued the unusual appeal in an address to the Hudson Institute think tank in which he reiterated U.S. charges that China is using espionage, cyber theft, blackmail and other means as part of a strategy to replace the United States as the world's dominant economic and technological power.

He said Xi has "spearheaded" a program called Fox Hunt aimed at strong-arming people born in China living outside of the country who are regarded as threats to return home in order to silence criticism of Beijing's political and human rights policies.

The families of those who refuse to return are threatened and some have been arrested in China "for leverage," he said

What's the Best Way to Season Corn on the Cob?
(G&G) In a recent Talk of the South newsletter, we asked readers, "How do you season your corn?" Here are a few of the many responses:

Salt and pepper. But only if necessary. Silver Queen doesn’t need a thing. —Diane D.

In my family, only Duke’s mayo and salt and pepper would do. Can’t get it that way in public, so it’s an in-home guilty pleasure. —Ann W.

Just salt, butter, and curry powder. —Jim Z.

First 12 Things Trump Will Do When He Inevitably Returns To Power
[Babylon Bee] The prophets have long whispered of the return of ULTRA-MAGA King Trump. In faith, we know that his return is inevitable and that he will soon reclaim the presidency and set right what has gone awry.

Here are the first 12 things Trump will do when he returns to power:

    1. Spray Febreze on the Oval Office curtains to get the old man smell out: Step one to draining the swamp is giving it a flowery scent.

2..Make Pelosi wear a sweater on the beach: I mean, really.

    3. Welcome back Mike Pence, just to tell him he's fired: It'll be the highest ratings for a single episode of The Apprentice. Maybe ever.

    4. Invade Afghanistan so he can show how much better he would be at withdrawing from Afghanistan: He's been dreaming about this one every night when he goes to sleep.

    5. Finish building that wall, but make Hunter Biden pay for it: Hunter will borrow from Joe, who will borrow from China. 4D chess!

    6. Make everything at the dollar store $1 again: And abolish the Fed.

    7. Sneak out of the Oval Office for a quick 9 holes: Trump needs to keep his golf skills sharp so he can challenge Putin to a match for the fate of Russia.

    8. Bring back the McRib: And make it permanent this time!

    9. Find Osama Bin Laden's body and kill him again: USA! USA! USA!

    10. Declare total infinity immunity with no take-backs: Should put an end to congressional witch hunts.

    11. Put Dr. Fauci in the stocks in the National Mall so everyone can throw cabbage at him: Somewhere up there Samuel Adams is drunkenly smiling.

    12. Buy Greenland and make Mexico pay for it: And then drill for oil like there's no tomorrow.

I've often thought that since Trump's total experience (like mine) was in the private sector, he wasn't expecting the massive and open defiance he got from people who were nominally his employees. Hopefully he's learned that lesson and will get rid of a lot more of them. And have Congress revise the Civil Service Act so that he can fire more of them.

The most important 'Top Gun: Maverick' moment nearly every moviegoer missed
[FOX] "Top Gun: Maverick" has worldwide ticket sales that have already crossed the $1 billion mark. If I’m an indicator, theaters sold many of those tickets to repeat customers.

If I hadn’t seen the film a second time, however, I would have missed its most important and revealing five seconds.

During my first watching, the scene entirely escaped notice. Producers had sandwiched it between mission-centered drama and supremely distracting high-G maneuvers. But in my second screening, I caught it.

The scene occurs just before Tom Cruise’s character Maverick leads three other F/A-18 Super Hornets on the film’s climatic mission. It breaks into two segments, one lasting about 1.5 seconds and the second roughly 4 seconds.

#15  A German walks into a bar and orders a beer.

The bartender tells him : "100 euros!"

The German is shocked - "100 euros? yesterday it was only 10 euros !"

"Well, today it is 100 euros."

    - "But why 100, damn it?"

Bar tender : "I'll explain it,

    -10 euros is beer,

    -10 to help Ukraine,

-20 assistance to European countries who have imposed sanctions and are not members of the EU.

-10 euros in aid to the UK, for successful implementation of sanctions against Russia.

-Then 10 euros are sent to the Balkan countries as aid to buy furnace coal.

    - and finally, 40 euros for a gas subsidy for the EU and fund to help maintain sanctions!"

The German silently took out the money and gave the bartender 100 euros.

The bartender took them, entered in the cash register and gave him 10 euros back

German in disbelief : "Wait, you said 100 euros, right ? I gave you 100, why are you giving me back 10 euros?"

    *"Ahh.. We have no beer!”*

#24  When we lived in Western Europe after the Berlin Wall fell — that is, when Mr. Wife’s large international corporation parked the trailing daughters and me in Germany/Belgium while he flew back and forth developing new products for markets in Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union — it struck me as interesting that the entire managerial class over there (and in most of the world, in fact) had doctorates in whatever they did thereafter, while in America many managers had only bachelor degrees or in the C Suite mere MBAs or the equivalent. Several of Mr. Wife’s colleagues explained to me that he must be a genius to accomplish what he did with only a BS in chemical engineering. To us that’s silly, but they could not conceive of anyone less trained having the necessary level of knowledge.

This goes back a while. Even my mother’s farmer uncles in Germany back in the 1930s, in a family that had bred cattle for generations, all had PhDs or JDs.

[NYP] This thief made off with a Wendy’s Double Stack of cash.

A man in a straw hat climbed into a Wendy’s drive-thru in Florida and stole the cash register drawer in a brazen caught-on-camera heist, police said.

The still-at-large suspect carried out the armed robbery on June 18 around 7:50 a.m. at the fast food restaurant’s outpost on Major Boulevard in Orlando, according to cops.

Video released by the department shows the suspect in a black Nissan Altima arrive at the drive-thru menu to place an order before pulling up to the window.

At the window, the crook flashed a gun at the cashier — at which point she tried to shut the opening before running away, police said.

Biden Sold Oil From Emergency Reserves To Chinese Gas Giant Tied To His Scandal-Plagued Son
[Federalist] On Wednesday, Reuters revealed that more than 5 million barrels of oil from the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserves were sent overseas as part of President Joe Biden’s latest release initiated in March.

Some of that oil went to India, some to the Netherlands, and some was sent to China where the president’s son has engaged in years of potentially criminal business activity embroiling the Biden White House in scandal since the 2020 campaign.

On Thursday, the Washington Free Beacon published new details about the Chinese oil shipments from the U.S. emergency reserves that Biden promised were tapped to "ease the pain that families are feeling" in the United States from high energy prices.

"The Biden administration sold roughly one million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to a Chinese state-controlled gas giant that continues to purchase Russian oil, a move the Energy Department said would ’support American consumers’ and combat ’Putin’s price hike,'" the Beacon’s Collin Anderson reported. "Biden’s Energy Department in April announced the sale of 950,000 Strategic Petroleum Reserve barrels to Unipec, the trading arm of the China Petrochemical Corporation. That company, which is commonly known as Sinopec, is wholly owned by the Chinese government."

Sinopec is also tied to Hunter Biden, whose private equity firm, BHR Partners, bought a $1.7 billion stake in the company seven years ago.

Hunter Biden’s lawyer told the New York Times in November that the president’s son, "no longer holds any interest, directly or indirectly, in either BHR or Skaneateles."

US Embassy Warns Americans To Avoid Tijuana Amid Cartel War Threats
[ZERO] Americans might want to reconsider their travel plans to Mexico's Baja California peninsula after the U.S. Embassy issued a startling new travel warning about cartel clashes with government security forces and elevated risk of kidnappings and possibly even death.

The U.S. Embassy in Mexico City issued the notice on July 4, warning Americans about traveling to Tijuana and Rosarito, Baja California, following the arrest "of a prominent cartel leader" and the rising probabilities "for confrontations between criminal organizations and Mexican security forces."
"U.S. citizens should expect to encounter increased Mexican law enforcement presence in those areas. Criminal organization assassinations and territorial disputes can result in bystanders being injured or killed," the travel advisory stated.

The Department of State's Travel Advisory for Baja California has been raised to Level 3, indicating that U.S. tourists are at risk of being injured, killed, or even kidnapped.

Troops kill 2 linked to PULO militant group in Thai Deep South
[BenarNews] A counter-insurgency operation in Thailand’s Deep South led to the rare killing on Friday of two PULO
...formally the Patani United Liberation Organization, one of the original members of the Thai insurgency. They went dormant in 2016 before reappearing recently...
rebels and arrests of eight others linked to the mostly dormant krazed killer group that has recently expressed interest in joining peace talks.
There were only about 100 of them before — this is a significant loss.
The operation in Yala province brought to five the number of suspected turbans killed by the military since Tuesday, officials said, making it the deadliest week of violence in the border region since the government and BRN rebels observed a 40-day ceasefire starting in early April, during Ramadan.

"At about 6 a.m., when officials reached the houses, a shootout broke out, killing two suspects ... another eight surrendered. We believe they were hiding to launch attacks somewhere there," said police Col. Ratpolchai Pensongkram, chief of the Kota Bharu cop shoppe in Yala province.

He and other officials said the eight who surrendered admitted that they and the two slain suspects were members of "PULO G5" or the fifth iteration of the Patani United Liberation Organization rebel group, which was most powerful in the 1990s.

Troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, an M-1 carbine and a 9mm handgun along with two bodies in a field in Mai Khan village, officials said, adding that leaflets inscribed with PULO G5 were found in a nearby house.

The deaths follow a Tuesday operation where different security forces killed a suspected Barisan Revolusion Nasional (BRN) member and captured another during a clash in Pattani. On Wednesday, security forces killed two suspected BRN cell members in Narathiwat province.

The regional army commander confirmed that those killed and captured on Friday were PULO members.

"Today eight men surrendered, admitting they are PULO. They also collaborated with a drug ring to create violence but there must be further investigation," said Lt. Gen. Kriangkrai Srirak, the commander of the 4th Army Region which oversees the Deep South.

Kasturi Mahkota, the head of PULO-MKP (Majlis Kepimpinan Pertubuhan or Party Leadership Council) questioned the army commander’s statement.

"I haven’t heard a report from the ground about the incident yet. But the accusation of PULO’s drugs involvement is not true," Kasturi told BenarNews.

    PREVIOUS VIOLENCE
On April 15 as Kasturi, who leads one of three PULO factions, expressed interest in joining BRN in peace talks with the government, PULO members took credit for twin bombings that shattered the negotiators’ 40-day ceasefire tied to the Moslem holy month.

Those explosions in Pattani province killed a villager and injured three police bomb squad members.

On Friday, Kriangkrai, the regional army commander, dismissed concerns about the deadly week.

"I acknowledge the summary killings are a concern ... but people forget about the attack on the marine cop shoppe in Tak Bai which took place after Ramadan ended. Security forces have to enforce the law though we try to practice restraint," he said.

Authorities said three officers were maimed when 10 button men armed with assault rifles and grenades attacked a cop shoppe near the border with Malaysia.

Still, regional officials said the military seeks peace in the Deep South.

"We continue with the sentiment of Ramadan peace initiative which remains intact and we will have a peace talk this month but I cannot remember the dates," Kriangkrai said.

The Deep South encompasses Pattani, Narathiwat, Yala provinces and four districts of Songkhla province in Thailand’s majority-Moslem Malay southern border region. Since the insurgency reignited in January 2004, more than 7,000 people have been killed and 13,500 others injured in violence across the region, according to Deep South Watch, a local think-tank.

Army Training Says Soldiers Must Shower with Transgender Persons of Opposite Sex
[Breitbart] An Army training slide obtained by Breitbart News instructs soldiers to shower with transgender members of the opposite sex even if they have not undergone a surgical transition.

The training slide offers a “vignette” instructing soldiers on what to do if they encounter a female soldier who identifies as male according to the Department of Defense’s personnel tracking system known as Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), but has not surgically transitioned and still has “female genitalia.”

The slide, titled “Soldier/Unit Training Barracks, Bathrooms, and Showers,” reads:

Vignette: Following his transition from female to male (which did not include sex reassignment surgery) and gender marker change in DEERS, a transgender Soldier begins using male barracks, bathroom, and shower facilities. Because he did not undergo a surgical change, the Soldier still has female genitalia.

The slide instructs soldiers: “Soldiers must accept living and working conditions that are often austere, primitive, and characterized by little or no privacy. … Understand anyone may encounter individuals in barracks, bathrooms, or shower facilities with physical characteristics of the opposite sex despite having the same gender marker in DEERS.”

It also tells soldiers that they should be “respectful of the privacy and modesty concerns of others,” but that “transgender Soldiers are not required or expected to modify or adjust their behavior based on the fact that they do not ‘match’ other Soldiers.”

The training slides warn soldiers that violations of Equal Opportunity (EO) policies may result in disciplinary actions under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and that EO policies “apply to working, living, and recreational environment (on and off-post, during duty and non-duty hours).”

Soldiers with concerns or questions are told to discuss them with their chain of command.

The slide is part of a mandatory training presentation all soldiers must receive following the Biden administration’s January 2021 order to the Department of Defense that all qualified transgender persons be allowed to join the military and serve openly. The order reversed a policy under the Trump administration that prohibited transgender persons with gender dysphoria from serving.

Another slide from the presentation states that a soldier’s gender transition is considered administratively “complete” once the soldier has completed the “medical care necessary to achieve stability in the self-identified gender,” but that the medical care is the “medical process identified or approved by a military medical provider in a documented medical treatment plan” and “often does not include surgical treatment.”

“Once gender transition is complete and the Soldier’s gender marker in DEERS is changed, the Soldier is expected to adhere to all military standards associated with the Soldier’s gender marker in DEERS and use billeting, bathroom, and shower facilities in accordance with the DEERS gender marker,” it says.

The training slides are dated August 2021, but were distributed to soldiers earlier this year in March, according to the Free Beacon, which obtained different slides from the same training. Similar training slides have been circulated in the past, featuring slightly different scenarios.
The issue isn’t so much females pretending to be males as it is uncut males dressing up as females.

In particular, according to him, this includes the Armed Forces of Ukraine - up to 700 thousand people, the National Police - up to 100 thousand, the National Guard - up to 90 thousand, border guards - up to 60 thousand.

17:24 Reznikov named three possible scenarios for the end of the war with Russia:

    • The first is the "good will" of the Russians, the same as when they fled from the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy regions and Zmeiny Island: "I think that it will be divided into several chains. First, we will take positions until February 24 of this year, then there will be some talk about the status of previously occupied Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea, but at the table with our powerful partners."

    • The second option is "gradually we will grind the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, because this is really a war of resource against resource. They have more people, territory, tanks, aircraft, etc., but everything is outdated, everything is ancient, and today they use the principle of a meat grinder ". This scenario, according to the minister, will not be quick: "Until the end of this year, perhaps with the capture of the beginning of the new year."

    • The third scenario is the most dramatic for Moscow, it is the collapse of the Russian Federation into several different subjects: "We will definitely see this in our lifetime, but this is a bit of a long story."

Reznikov stressed that there would definitely be no Minsk-3, as well as no capitulation agreements: "No one will negotiate with a barrel at the temple."

The Guardian writes that Borrell described Lavrov's behavior as disrespectful - the Russian minister left the event, saying that the Russian invasion of Ukraine is not the cause of the global food crisis and that sanctions aimed at isolating the Russian Federation are tantamount to a declaration of war.

17:08 Mexico will remain neutral regarding the war in Ukraine, President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said on the eve of his visit to Washington next week. At the same time, he hopes for a ceasefire.

16:59 In Mariupol, in the Volonterovka microdistrict of the Kalmiussky district, people gathered at a school demanding to urgently solve the problem with drinking water, electricity and transport links. About 3,000 people, including at least 200 children, remain cut off from the minimum basic conditions of existence. Most of the men from this microdistrict are still in the filtration colony in Sedovo, which makes it impossible to solve problems on their own, said Petr Andryushchenko, the mayor's adviser.

The protest meeting took place after the death in the middle of the street of two pensioners who tried to overcome kilometers from Volonterovka to the center of the district in the heat. According to Andryushchenko, the local "authorities" tried to make new promises, but in the end they simply fled under the protection of Russian submachine gunners.

16:54 Russian troops have increased the presence of their military equipment at the Belarusian airfield Zyabrovka, reports Belaruski Gayun. So, at the airfield, they noticed: a division of ten units of the S-400 Triumph air defense system, two units of the Pantsir air defense missile system, 5N66 low-altitude detectors, a 92N6E illumination and guidance radar, buried and disguised infantry fighting vehicles and tanks. Earlier, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Lukashenka gave Zyabrovka under the possession of the Russian Federation, the Russians are equipping a military base there and have already brought Iskander-M.

16:40 Zelensky, standing next to the front line, addressed the people and politicians of Slovenia: "In fact, we all know that the dream of a peaceful, free and stable Europe cannot be realized without Ukraine as part of the EU. That is why Russia launched a large-scale offensive against Europe from Ukraine, because in Moscow they are fully aware of the importance of Ukraine for the European project. And that is why Russia will inevitably lose, because Europe will not be split, not divided into parts, as it was before. The eastern border of Europe is now equal to the eastern border of Ukraine, and one day it is on our eastern border that marks will be placed: the territory of the European Union."

16:27 In Nova Kakhovka, collaborator Sergei Tomka was killed. The occupiers appointed the former policeman as "deputy chief of the city police department" in the city. His Opel car was blown up yesterday afternoon, the details are being specified, Anton Gerashchenko said.

16:06 The Cabinet of Ministers canceled the decision on the list of critical imports for which it is allowed to buy foreign currency on the interbank market, the NBU reports. This will allow businesses to buy foreign currency and import any marketable products from July 9. However, restrictions on the import of services will remain.

15:59 Canada has expanded anti-Russian sanctions to include Patriarch Kirill, a number of media outlets, including Regnum, Channel One, VGTRK, RT, Sputnik and others, as well as Roskomnadzor and Rossotrudnichestvo. In addition, Canada has imposed a ban on the import of Russian gold and a number of items made from it.

15:56 Ukraine de facto is already becoming a member of NATO, Reznikov said at the Forbes Ukraine conference: "If we say that Ukraine is not yet considered by NATO countries as a full member de jure, because there should be a consensus among NATO countries, but we, in in fact, we are already becoming a member country of the de facto alliance, because we are on the eastern flank, they give us NATO equipment, we have already mastered more than 30 NATO standards, etc."

According to the minister, the only thing that worries Ukraine's partners is paragraph 5, which they would very much not like to apply if Ukraine became a member of the alliance: "But I will tell you seriously that our partners from the Baltic countries and Poland already feel the imperfection of paragraph 5 in the NATO alliance agreement."

15:53 The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the G20 countries, following a two-day meeting in Bali, could not reach a consensus on the situation in Ukraine, Associated Press reports. Unlike past summits, there were no group photos, no final communiqué, and disagreements seemed to be widespread, especially between Russia and Western participants in the meeting, the agency notes. Consensus has proved elusive as the East-West divide deepens, with China and Russia on one side and Europe and the US on the other.

15:48 A Russian mine has been brought into the Dniester estuary in the Odessa region. In the near future, sappers will destroy it in the water, said Natalya Gumenyuk, head of the coordinating press center for the protection and defense forces of the South.

15:37 This year, the harvest for the peasants turned out to be dangerous, because they have to work in a minefield. And the number of cases of detonation of mines on farmland is growing. In order not to have to pay for the harvest with human lives, agricultural producers invite sappers to the fields who carry out humanitarian demining. About how this will affect the end consumer - in the material will bread rise in price .

15:26 The Turn Back Alive Foundation purchased 100 unmanned aerial systems from the Latvian company Atlas for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is a special military development, which is in service in a number of NATO countries. According to the head of the fund, Taras Chmut, last year the development passed a full cycle of tests in the Ukrainian special operations forces.

He clarified that 100 complexes are 300 tricopters + ground control stations, repeaters, protected tablets, several target loading options and a set of spare parts and tools. The purchase price was 5 million euros. Drones have secure communication channels, they are used to correct artillery fire, as well as for reconnaissance.

15:16 Based on the materials of the SBU, the corporate rights and real estate of 11 enterprises were seized, the ultimate beneficiaries of which are Rosneft, Rosatom and Gazprom. In the course of operational and investigative actions, it was established that part of the profits of these enterprises went to the preparation and conduct of the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as to finance the activities of the DRG.

The approximate total value of corporate rights arrested by the court exceeds UAH 2.1 billion. They also seized 46 real estate objects owned by them.

15:08 "DPR Parliament" announced that it had lifted the moratorium on the execution of death sentences.

14:42 Zelensky is on a visit to the Dnipropetrovsk region. According to Yermak, a meeting has already been held with Ukrainian soldiers at the forefront, and a meeting chaired by the president on the situation in the region, the state of affairs in military units and subdivisions has already been held in the Krivoy Rog region.

14:23 According to Nikolaev since the morning rocket attack which fell on industrial infrastructure was caused, the mayor of the city Alexander Senkevich reported.

14:20 In Slavyansk and other cities in the north of the Donetsk region, it will be impossible to organize a heating season, Mayor Vadim Lyakh said. He explained that it is impossible to supply gas to the cities, and the electricity networks will not withstand the load due to electric heaters: “Even now, with a small number of people, the networks cannot withstand the load. And when electric heaters are added to electric stoves and electric pumps, collapse will come.” According to him, the only way out is to have a minimum number of people in the cities during the heating season.

14:16 Zelensky, in an interview with CNN, commented on reports that he allegedly conveyed a message to Putin: “I don’t consider him a person who needs something special. A special message. We have a bloody war that Russia unleashed on our territory. I just would like him to realize that he did exactly this. And that he realizes that for today he can specifically complete it. That's the whole message. And the choice is his."

The president also noted that the war could end before the end of 2022: "If our country is as united as it is now, if powerful weapons come from our partners to us on time and if luck and God are on our side, then we will be able to do a lot of things be done by the end of this year, and Russia will be forced to sit down at the negotiating table."

14:12 An ammunition depot in occupied Shakhtersk in the "DPR" is still on fire after a night shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Russian media, the shells detonate, scattering within a radius of 5-6 km. There are damages in the nearby houses, windows are broken, the evacuation of residents from the most dangerous areas is organized. Movement towards Shakhtyorsk is limited.

14:09 In Russia, the first verdict was passed in the case of "fakes" about the RF Armed Forces. The court sentenced municipal deputy Aleksey Gorinov to seven years in a penal colony for criticizing the Russian army and suggesting a minute of silence in memory of the fallen citizens of Ukraine. Right before the announcement, Gorinov began to applaud in the hall. For this, the bailiffs took out all the listeners, leaving only the press.

14:07 The Russians are turning Melitopol into a military town, Mayor Ivan Fedorov said. According to him, a few hours ago, in the New Melitopol area, under the railway overpass, the occupiers deployed their air defense. They also place weapons in residential areas, repair equipment from all over the south at the Gauleiter factory. At the same time, equipment is being withdrawn towards the Crimea, making it inaccessible to new artillery systems. According to Fedorov, they don’t have the strength to attack Zaporozhye now, but they are not going to leave Melitopol either.

The mayor also said that more than 500 people were held hostage by the occupiers in four months. Someone was released for money, two were taken to the Crimea and convicted as terrorists, and someone "is tortured so that people can't move on their own."

14:02 Lavrov, in response to the boycott at the G20 meeting, did not come to Kuleba's speech, AFP reports.

13:52 Zelensky considers NATO's denial of Ukraine's membership a historical mistake: "Now we are talking about security guarantees for Ukraine, and about weapons, and about financial support, but it was possible simply, by uniting, to take Ukraine into NATO. <...> For Ukraine, they always found reasons why we shouldn't be there, but Sweden and Finland were accepted right away. The decision was right, but in relation to Ukraine it was wrong, historically wrong."

13:45 "Deputy head of administration" of the Kherson region, collaborator Kirill Stremousov claims that the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, as a result of the strike there are victims. At the same time, the air defense system allegedly repelled the attack.

13:27 Zelensky commented on the situation at the front in an interview with CNN: "The situation in the east is very difficult for us. We have a different situation throughout the country, but the most difficult is in the Donbass. They have more artillery, MLRS, victims, but they don't count equipment, they don’t count losses, but we count our people first of all, because our people are our weapons.”

The president also confirmed that Russians control most of the Luhansk region, "but everything is destroyed there": "To be honest, I don't even understand such ambitions - what they control. They destroyed cities, schools. What did they occupy? They are occupiers of the ruins of the Lugansk region."

13:14 The United States appealed to Moscow with a request to recognize the Americans captured in Ukraine who fought for the Armed Forces of Ukraine as combatants, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov said. To which Ryabkov replied that the issue of status was within the competence of the "DPR". "We have repeatedly warned the citizens of a group of states unfriendly to Russia to refrain from adventurous plans to prove themselves on the battlefield in Ukraine," the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said.

12:56 Russia does not abandon its plans to seize the entire territory of Ukraine, Zelensky said in an interview with CNN. According to him, these are their plans, and they have remained unchanged for many years: “First politically, then it was Crimea, then Donbass, and now a full-scale invasion. Therefore, Russia’s plans include both a change in political leadership and the occupation of the entire country - we are absolutely sure of it."

12:35 Canada will send 39 General Dynamics armored vehicles to Ukraine this summer, Defense Minister Anita Anand said. The equipment can be used as ambulances, repair and recovery vehicles and for the transport of troops. The party is part of Canada's $500 million military support budgeted for Ukraine back in April.

12:33 The speaker of the Odesa OVA, Serhiy Bratchuk, specified that in the occupied Nova Kakhovka, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the ammunition depot and enemy air defense. According to local media, at least 44 invaders were killed and many were wounded.

12:31 Peskov clarified Putin's words that "Russia has not yet started anything seriously" in Ukraine: "The head of state appealed to those statements that are heard from Western countries, from Kiev, that Kiev will move on the battlefield until to victory. Here, Putin thus recalled that the potentials are completely incommensurable. Russia's potential is so great in this regard that only an insignificant part of it is now being used in the course of a special military operation."
There are nukes, I suppose, but otherwise they’ve already pulled the 1970s tanks and WWI rifles out of storage...
12:04 Russian invaders use special shells to set fire to fields with grain in Ukraine, said activist Igor Lutsenko, who is now fighting the invaders. Information about deliberate arson is also confirmed by a separate mechanized brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign.

11:42 Blinken at the G20 meeting demanded that the Russian Federation unblock the export of Ukrainian grain, one of the Western officials told Reuters: "He [Blinken] turned directly to the Russian Federation and said: Ukraine is not your country. Its grain is not your grain. Why are you blocking ports? You must release the grain."
That’ll do the trick, fer sure. High fives and whiskeys all around in celebration.
11:18 Lavrov leaves the G20 meeting early, where he faced criticism for the war against Ukraine. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told dpa that Lavrov is now holding bilateral talks, after which he will address the press and leave. He will miss the sessions scheduled for Friday and a joint dinner.

Lavrov himself told reporters that Western partners "are trying to avoid talking about global economic problems," and instead "are starting a feverish criticism of Russia because of the situation in Ukraine." "Aggressors, invaders, occupiers - we heard a lot of things," the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

11:15 Scholz said on the air of the ZDF TV channel that Germany will support Ukraine, despite the economic problems and the gas crisis, as long as it is necessary. At the same time, the chancellor stressed that "it is possible to act only with the support of citizens," and added that "it will probably be for a very long time." According to him, "it is impossible to agree that one country attacks another and says: I will now steal a piece of your land from you, it now belongs to me."

According to him, there is no operational pause on the part of the Russians, the shelling does not subside. Moreover, additional tank units of the Russian Federation went into battle.

Gaidai said that it is difficult to leave the region, but it is possible - through the territory of Russia to other countries. Russians demand money for passing through checkpoints, and they have no clear tariffs. Ukrainian mobile communications in the region are disabled, critical infrastructure in cities and villages where hostilities took place is almost 100% destroyed.

10:36 More than 70% of Russian missiles and shells fired at Ukraine do not reach the target, said Alexei Gromov, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has made 6443 sorties of operational-tactical aviation. 09:52 Kiev appealed to Canada with a request not to transfer a turbine for the Nord Stream gas pipeline to Russia, Reuters reports citing an official in the Ukrainian Energy Ministry. Earlier, the media, citing sources, wrote that Canada was preparing an exception from the sanctions regime against the Russian Federation for the supply of a turbine. The formal reason for the lifting of sanctions may be the argument that Russia will get the technical ability to restore the volume of gas pumped to the EU.

The agency said that the use of the International Space Station for political purposes is fundamentally incompatible with its main function among the 15 participating countries - to promote science and develop technology for peaceful purposes. Operational pause. I don’t recall our guys doing one of those in Iraq in 2003, but possibly I didn’t understand what I was seeing.
At the same time, Russia may choose Seversk as a direct tactical target, as its forces are trying to move towards the most likely operational target of the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk region. Meanwhile, Ukrainian troops continue to gradually advance in the southwestern sector of the Kherson region.

09:34 At the summit of G20 foreign ministers in Bali, general photography was canceled - the participants did not want to take a general picture with Lavrov. 07:46 In order to reach the administrative border of the Lugansk region, the Russians are destroying the surrounding villages with artillery, said the head of the OVA Serhiy Gaidai. So, according to him, of all types of heavy weapons, they do not stop striking at Belogorovka and Zolotarevka, they use cannon and rocket artillery. The situation is similar in the settlements of the Donetsk region, which are located near the border with the Luhansk region.

    Israel-Palestine-Jordan
‘The sea is more blue’: Gazans head to the beach after sewage cleanup
[TheGuardian] Internationally funded treatment plants have reduced sea pollution in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
    to lowest level in years

On the beach in Sheikh Ijlin, a neighbourhood in the south of Gaza City, no one is paying attention to a nearby Islamic jihad military drill. Children run in and out of the Mediterranean waves, begging their parents for camel rides and candy floss, ignoring the thuds as rockets belonging to the Paleostinian bully boy group hit the water.

Thanks to a dedicated sewage cleanup effort, for the first time in years most of the Gaza Strip’s coastline is clean enough to swim in; this summer, thousands of families are rediscovering the besieged territory’s foremost recreational outlet.

"We didn’t come for seven years because the water was not safe. Now it looks so much better ... The colour is different, more blue. This is our second beach day this year," said Nabila Haniya, 40, who sat at a picnic table with several other women while their children played. "We have a lot of wars and troubles. The kids deserve to have some fun."

Fifteen years into a joint Israeli-Egyptian blockade, clean water is one of the most pressing issues for the 41km-long strip, which is home to 2.2 million people. Almost 97% of the water in Gaza’s sole aquifer is no longer potable: without proper maintenance and with Israeli restrictions on imports, sewage treatment plants were overwhelmed years ago.

Untreated waste has flowed directly into the sea for more than a decade, creating an environmental disaster and polluting one of the only affordable opportunities for fun in the isolated Paleostinian enclave.

Over the last year, however, Gaza’s three internationally funded sewage treatment plants have been able to step up operations, in part owing to a more steady and plentiful supply of electricity. In October 2021, 180,000 cubic metres of sewage a day was pouring into the Mediterranean; now, 120,000 cubic metres, or 70%, is going to the modern treatment centres, and the remaining 30% is partially treated, meaning 95% of waste is removed before the water re-enters the environmental cycle.

The improvements have reduced sea pollution to its lowest level in years, leading the local water authority to declare that 65% of the coastline is now categorised as "green" or "yellow", which means safe enough for swimming.

The rejuvenation of Gaza’s beaches is a major step in that it shows environmental cooperation between Paleostinians and Israeli is possible, said Gidon Bromberg, the Israeli co-director of EcoPeace Middle East, a joint Israeli, Paleostinian and Jordanian environmental peace-building organization, which played a big role in cleaning up Gaza’s seawater.

"This is perhaps the only good news to come out of Gaza in a decade," he said. "You can never disengage from a shared environment, you are always going to be dependent on your own and your neighbours’ ability to manage it.

"The grinding of the peace processor may have lost all urgency, but tackling the climate crisis and water security, those are things that bring benefits to both sides. It’s about creating a healthy co-independence."

    Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syria's Assad in first official visit to Aleppo since war
    [Rudaw] Syria's Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
    Supressor of the Damascenes...
on Friday visited the heavily damaged northern province of Aleppo -- his first in 11 years of war.

He visited a major power plant in the countryside of the province's east to supervise its partial relaunch after war damage.

Assad was also present for the relaunching of a water pumping station, statements from the Syrian presidency said on the Telegram messaging app.

"Aleppo governorate has suffered from terrorism and sabotage more than any other governorate. The people of Aleppo have a right to benefit from these repairs the most," Assad said, according to one of the statements.

Aleppo province was the scene of fierce battles between government forces, rebels and Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group jihadists from 2012 until government forces gradually ousted them.

Assad's 2016 victory -- backed by Russian military force -- in Aleppo city, the country's economic heart, was a turning point in the war.

Electricity networks and other infrastructure across the country were ravaged by the war which is estimated to have killed nearly half a million people and displaced millions.

The Syrian government does not have authority over all of Aleppo province, with areas on the Ottoman Turkish border still controlled by Ankara-backed groups and the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces.

The recently rehabilitated part of the power station, one of the country's largest, will generate 200 Megawatts of electricity for the province, the presidency said.

In 2021, Aleppo's state-run electricity company announced the power station will be rehabilitated with support from Iran, another Assad ally.

Tehran signed several agreements with Damascus in 2017 to improve the production and distribution of electricity in war-ravaged Syria.

The deals included the rehabilitation of the Aleppo power plant, building a power station in Latakia, as well as repair and maintenance work in other regions.

Iran denies UK seizure of Iranian weapons en route to Yemen
Well then. Nothing more to be said.
    [Rudaw] Iran
...They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
on Friday denied that the UK had seized an Iranian arms shipment to the Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
    rebels in Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
, saying Britannia was in no position to make such "unfounded" claims as it accused it of being complicit in the Yemeni war by arming the Saudi-led coalition in the war-torn country.

The British defense ministry on Thursday claimed that the Royal Navy earlier this year confiscated a cruise missile from an Iranian vessel that was likely bound for Yemen.

The newly-appointed spokesperson for Iran’s foreign ministry Nasser Kanaani addressed the British claims, referring to them as "baseless" and "outdated."

Kanaani stated that the UK was not in a position to make such charges, accusing the Brits of providing weapons to the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, effectively leading to the continuation of the conflict, reported state media.

Yemen has been in a civil war since late 2014 between Iran-backed Shiite Houthi rebels and the Yemeni government, supported by the Saudi-led coalition.

Kanaani added that the UK continues to export arms to the coalition, despite the fact that they are "well aware" that the weapons are being used to target "defenseless people."

The Houthis took over Sana’a in 2014, prompting the Saudi-led military intervention the following year and igniting a war that has caused what the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
terms the "world's worst humanitarian crisis."

The Houthi rebels and the Saudi-led coalition agreed to observe a two-month truce in April, the first cessation of hostilities in Yemen since 2016. The ceasefire was renewed for an additional two months in June.

"By agreeing to implementing and now renewing the truce, the parties have provided a rare glimmer of hope to Yemenis that an end to this devastating conflict is possible," Hans Grundberg, UN special envoy for Yemen said last month.

    -Great Cultural Revolution
A Looming Military Catastrophe-Propensity to Serve at 11%
[RedState] Our military is in crisis, and little is being said or done to alter our course to disaster. Joe Biden’s culture war against our own armed forces is being conducted on several fronts: including pursuing the pet social engineering projects beloved to the Left at the expense of readiness and capability of our forces (for example, exercises in CRT, diversity, inclusion, and equity); dictating the rules of engagement (ROE) that hinder our troops’ ability to fight an enemy that often times doesn’t wear traditional military uniforms, hiding behind women’s burqas, and operating from schools and mosques; and slashing the necessary funding for force modernization and sustainability. As a result, our armed services are facing historic lows in recruiting and lack of American public confidence. In short, we are no longer the world’s preeminent military power, and we will lose wars going forward.

Who wants to serve in a military that prioritizes purely political agendas over patriotism, success, and selfless service? Who wants to serve senior leaders who don’t understand or embrace the traditional meritocracy of the world’s once greatest military force? Apparently, not many. The U.S. military has a serious recruiting problem, and it needs to be fixed ASAP. For the first time since the institution of the “all-volunteer force” in 1973, 2022 is shaping up as the most challenging recruiting year to date. The Army has announced that it will have to cut its size by 12,000 troops due to the inability to fill its ranks and, after five months into the year is at only 23 percent of its goal. The Air Force’s top recruiter has declared “warning lights are flashing” for meeting 2022 goals. The Marine Corps, which normally has little problem meeting and exceeding its goals this fiscal year, is likewise falling short of needed personnel. A recent Department of Defense poll asked young adults ages 16-21, “How likely is it you will serve in the military?” Approximately only 11 percent responded “definitely or probably.” And that is trending down, precipitously. Senator Thom Tillis (R – NC) summed it thusly: “To put it bluntly, I’m worried we are now in the early days of a long-term threat to the all-volunteer force, with a small and declining numbers of Americans who are eligible and interested in military service.” Adding, “Every single metric tracking metric tracking the military recruiting environment is going in the wrong direction.”

The debacle in withdrawing from Afghanistan, in addition to the in-your-face implementation of command directives that have nothing to do with fighting and winning wars, is largely to blame. Americans are rapidly losing confidence in our military, traditionally one of our most revered institutions. According to the Reagan Institute, confidence in our military has dropped to 45 percent, the sharpest decline and the lowest level since the surveys began. Sixty-two percent of those surveyed disapproved of the Biden administration’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. Eisenhower’s adage was spot on, but our current leadership doesn’t get it. Morale is key to our military institutions and their success. And, clearly, people don’t want to serve and put their lives and families on the line for a government that doesn’t value them.

Only with new leadership, and leadership that can disassociate itself from the onslaught of woke policies and reinstate the patriotic call to serve, will the United States restore our ability to win militarily. The damage has been done but we can recover. Make it happen this November and November, 2024. Our future as a republic depends on it.

    Europe
New pipeline from Greece to Bulgaria offsets Russian gas cut
Increasing European resilience, decreasing Russia’s ability to control customer nations.
[AlAhram] The leaders of Greece and Bulgaria on Friday inaugurated a new pipeline that will supply natural gas from Azerbaijan to Bulgaria, whose vital supply of Russian gas was cut off in April amid the fallout over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed the importance of the new link as an alternative supply line for Bulgaria, as neighboring Greece jockeys to become a regional energy transport hub.

``This isn't just a gas pipeline, but a crucial south-north energy bridge,'' Mitsotakis said during a ceremony in northeastern Greece.

    He added that Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
needs to coordinate its response to ``Moscow's conscious choice to turn natural resources into a lever of political pressure, into a raw blackmail.''

``It is something our Bulgarian neighbors already know very well,'' Mitsotakis said.

In late April, Russia cut off gas supplies to Bulgaria after it refused a demand by Moscow to pay gas bills in rubles, Russia's currency. Relations between the two former Soviet bloc allies have tanked in recent months, and last month Bulgaria ordered the expulsion of 70 Russian diplomats, triggering an angry response from Moscow.

Bulgaria's acting prime minister, Kiril Petkov, highlighted the pipeline's key role in ending Russia's gas monopoly in his country.

The 182-kilometer (115-mile) pipeline inaugurated Friday will run from the northeastern Greek city of Komotini to Stara Zagora in central Bulgaria. It starts with an initial capacity of 3 billion cubic meters of gas a year, and the prospect of future expansion to 5 million cubic meters. Commercial deliveries are expected to start by Oct. 1.

Greece is looking to serve as an energy hub for the Balkans, using fossil fuels from the Caspian Sea and the southeastern Mediterranean, and, potentially renewable energy from Egypt, to supply the region amid the fallout of the war in Ukraine.

Greece is also building a liquefied natural gas terminal off the northeastern port of Alexandroupolis, near Komotini, which Mitsotakis said would in the future provide additional gas for the new Greek-Bulgarian pipeline.

Oil minister says Iraq to act to annul Kurdish oil deals
[AlAhram] Iraq's oil minister said on Thursday the government will take steps to enforce a recent court decision to annul oil contracts the semiautonomous northern Iraqi Kurdish region made with international companies.

The minister, Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail, told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named the deals, which circumvent the government in Baghdad, are illegal and amount to oil smuggling.

His remarks were the strongest yet by a senior government official since Iraq's Supreme Federal Court issued a landmark ruling in February against the northern region's independent oil sector. Ismail said in total 17 oil companies will be targeted for their dealings with the Iraqi Kurdish region.

Nolte: Biden Admin Flies Illegal Alien Minors out of Texas for Abortions
[Breitbart] Not only is Joe Biden allowing illegal aliens to swarm into Texas…. He’s transporting minor illegal aliens — children — to states outside of Texas to kill their babies and has been for some time—nine months, actually, if you can appreciate a ghoulish kind of irony…

Biden officials are exploring ways to provide abortion access for pregnant women and girls in U.S. immigration custody in states with bans, four U.S. officials who requested anonymity to discuss the government plans told Reuters.

Many federal shelters for unaccompanied children apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border are located in Texas, where a Republican-backed law that went into effect in September banned abortions at six weeks.

For the past nine months, U.S. health officials have been flying or driving minors from Texas shelters to other states for abortions. Advocates say more guidance is needed now, and fast.

    Olde Tyme Religion
A Global Uptick in the Muslim Slaughter of Christians
[PJMedia] Another day has passed, and another Moslem man has murdered another Coptic Christian in Egypt.

On Sunday, June 5, 2022 — the same day Moslems attacked a packed church in Nigeria, massacring more than 50 Christians — Abdullah Hosni, a Moslem man with a long history of harassing Christians, randomly attacked a Copt, Kirollos (Cyril) Megali, with a meat cleaver in a village in Sohag, Upper Egypt.

Kirollos, who was rushed to a hospital "drenched in blood and with multiple stab wounds," spent three days in an intensive care unit before succumbing to his injuries, including hack wounds to his skull.

According to the dear departed’s brother, Abdullah was locally known for harassing Christians. He had relocated to Libya for a time but returned two days before assaulting Kirollos. The latter himself had been working abroad (in Kuwait) and was visiting family when Abdullah knocked him off his cycle of violence and started hacking at him [keep reading for more on this story and for pictures].

A few weeks before this latest murder of a Coptic Christian at the hands of a Moslem in Egypt, another young Copt was murdered by a Moslem man — who later said he was moved to the act due to his "loyalty to Allah" — and Fr. Arsenius Wadid was stabbed to death in broad daylight by another knife wielding Moslem man.

    Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch started the buffalo stampeding......
this sort of savagery that was once reserved for Moslem majority nations has come to the West. Turning to La Belle France alone, just the other day, a Moslem man stabbed a Christian man ten times in the throat — "in the name of Allah." The murder occurred near a Catholic school, where the slain was picking up his children, aged 3 and 7; they witnessed the butchery of their father. A few days before that, also in La Belle France, three Moslem men tortured and slit the throat of a 70-year-old French woman in her retirement home.

And how have the "powers-that-be" responded? The UN recently inaugurated a "combat Islamophobia
...the irrational fear that Moslems will act the way they usually do...
" day, and the European Parliament, after being petitioned to discuss the global persecution of Christians soon after a young Christian girl was stoned and burned to death in Nigeria, refused, saying there’s nothing to talk about. Two weeks later, Moslems shot up another church in Nigeria, killing more than 50.

Can sweet potatoes provide the solution to Egypt’s needs amid global grain shortage?
Needs must, when the Devil drives. During WWII in Britannia, they had recipes for all sorts of ersatz things made with carrots. Then there’s whatever margarine is made of...
[AlAhram] Egypt’s Minister of Supply Ali Moselhi has recently said his ministry plans to add sweet potato to subsidised bread due to the global grains crisis. Moselhi's remark made headlines and raised questions among the public about the plan which is still being studied.

"Using sweet potato to make bread can save up to a million tons of wheat," Moselhi said at a presser on 26 June, noting that Egypt is self-sufficient in sweet potato and is studying the technology required for the process.

Working on this idea for more than 20 years, Abdel-Moneim El-Gendy, a researcher at the Ministry of Agriculture and founder of a research project for the production of bread from potatoes, has asserted in a phone-in interview with al-Nahar channel that the "product is suitable for human consumption."

According to the head of the military-civilian administration of Severodonetsk, Alexander Stryuk, after the liberation of the city, redevelopment and a major restoration of all communications throughout the city are necessary.

"Most high-rise buildings will have to be built from scratch. When the Russians stormed the city, they destroyed houses in blocks. They hit the high-rise buildings with tanks just to clear positions," Stryuk says .

The official also urged city residents to contact the National Police and the prosecutor's office about destroyed housing or theft of property by Russian military occupiers.

The fact that Severodonetsk in the Luhansk region is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe was previously reported by the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Sergei Gaidai .

DNR lifts moratorium on death penalty
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:

[ColonelCassad] The Parliament of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) lifted on Friday the moratorium on executions of death sentences. This was reported by the press service of the People's Council of the Republic.

“The People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic lifted the moratorium on the execution of death sentences,” the parliament’s Telegram channel said in a statement. This legal norm will come into force after the publication of the DPR law “On Amendments to Article 202 of the Penal Code of the Donetsk People’s Republic”, which was adopted on July 8 as part of the regular plenary session of the autumn session of the DPR People’s Council of the 2nd convocation.

As Yelena Shishkina, chairman of the Committee on Criminal and Administrative Legislation, explained in her speech to the parliament on Friday, “the draft law proposes to recognize part 9 of article 202 of the Criminal Executive Code as invalid.” This paragraph stated that the provisions of the code on the execution of the death penalty come into force on January 1, 2025.

“Thus, the provisions of the Penal Code on the execution of the death penalty will be put into effect from the date of the official publication of this law,” Shishkina noted. According to the press service of the parliament, the law on amending article 202 of the DPR Penitentiary Code was adopted by the deputies in two readings as a whole and will come into force from the day it is published on the official website of the People's Council.

Arguing for the need to lift the moratorium on the execution of death sentences, Shishkina noted that "the possibility of the practical application of an exceptional measure of punishment - the death penalty - will serve as a deterrent to the commission of especially serious crimes." The draft law, as she noted, was proposed "in view of the need to protect the sovereignty, territorial integrity and interests of the Donetsk People's Republic in the current military-political situation."

On June 9, a DPR court sentenced British citizens Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin, as well as Moroccan Brahim Saadoun, to death on charges of participating in hostilities as part of the Ukrainian armed formations as mercenaries. They were taken prisoner in the Donbass. In addition, on July 1, the DPR authorities charged two more mercenaries from the UK.

One day in Russia this will be cancelled.

A couple of mercenaries would be nice to bring to a logical conclusion.\

Israeli drone kills Hezbollah collaborator in Syria's Hadar
[AnNahar] An Israeli drone has killed a man who hails from the Syrian town of Hadar in Quneitra's northern countryside, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

"The targeted person worked for Hezbollah in the field of surveillance and monitoring in the town of Hadar, which borders Syria's occupied Golan," the Observatory said.

"He was targeted by the drone as he was present near his home in the west of the town of Hadar," it added, noting that the strike took place on Wednesday evening.

Israeli drones had previously dropped leaflets across Quneitra that warned regime troops and residents against cooperating with Hezbollah, the Observatory said.

    Israel-Palestine-Jordan
    Poor Little ‘Palestine’
[IsraelTimes] The Palestinian Arabs resent the fact that the Saudis and other Gulf Arabs are becoming much closer with Israel, while only paying lip service to the “Palestinian cause.” Hence the Palestinian terrorists are continuing their fomenting of terror attacks against Israelis in an attempt to gain the West’s – and the Gulf Arabs’ – attention and sympathy. It’s a strategy that has worked before.

With the advent of the Abraham Accords, members UAE (Emirates), Bahrain, and Morocco, and unofficially Saudi Arabia, are already enjoying mutual benefits with Israel in economic, military, and touristic ways, as envisioned by the American planners of the Abraham Accords in the Trump administration. In its region, Israel is powerful, wealthy, and influential with the US. Thus, the Palestinian Authority (PA) has lost the attention of, and the money from, most of its former backers. While the kleptocratic, racist Fatah party ruling the Palestinian Authority (PA) still begs the West and fellow Gulf countries for money, the Hamas terrorists ruling in Gaza don’t even try to appeal to Western countries, instead relying on Iran and Qatar to support it.

With this realpolitik background, there is still daydreaming by the Biden Administration, the EU, the UN, and even many Israelis for a peaceful two state solution between Jews and Palestinian Arabs. This is certainly a fantasy. The clear majority of the Palestinian Arabs have no interest in sharing “their” land with us Jews. Their negotiating strategy is all or nothing, all for them and nothing for us. Negotiations with the Palestinian Arabs are pointless until they recognize and digest that Israel is predominant in its homeland.

appeared in Moscow and St. Petersburg in memory of the girl Veronika Badina, who died from shelling by Ukrainian nationalists in Donetsk.

Residents of Moscow organized a memorial in memory of the murdered girl on the DPR square next to the US Embassy. Flowers, soft toys, lit lamps are brought to the portrait.

In St. Petersburg, a black-and-white poster with a portrait of Veronika was installed on an easel near the Consulate General of the French Republic on Nevsky Prospekt.

“10-year-old Veronika Badina died during the shelling of Donetsk from French CAESAR howitzers. The French government is helping Ukraine not to defend itself, but to kill ,” the portrait was accompanied by such a caption. In this case, the last word was highlighted in red.

Recall that Veronica Badina died on July 5. A year ago, thanks to the help of Dr. Lisa's foundation, she was able to overcome a serious illness - anemia of the blood. Veronika died during the shelling of the Voroshilovsky district of Donetsk by Ukrainian nationalists. She was only 10 years old.

Prosecutor: Inal Dzhabiev was not involved in the assassination attempt on the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Inal Dzhabiev, who died after interrogation by the security forces, and Nikolai Tskhovrebov are not involved in the assassination attempt on the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia, Igor Naniev, the prosecutor said today. He proposed to sentence Tskhovrebov to a suspended sentence for arms trafficking.

The " Caucasian Knot " has reported that in February 2021, a resident of South Ossetia, Nikolai Tskhovrebov, who was detained together with Inal Dzhabiev in August 2020, was charged with an attempt on the life of Interior Minister Igor Naniev. Tskhovrebov's mother considered these accusations unsubstantiated. The intensification of the investigation of the case is connected with an attempt by the authorities to hide the story of the torture of the accused, journalist Ruslan Totrov suggested. In May 2021, the case was sent   to court.

On August 17, 2020, a service car carrying Interior Minister Igor Naniev was fired on in Tskhinval. No one was hurt during the shelling. Inal Dzhabiev died in August 2020 after being interrogated in the case of an attempt on the life of the minister, Nikolai Tskhovrebov, who was detained with him, also complained of torture. In connection with the death of Dzhabiev, eight security officials were detained, and Andrei Tskhovrebov, deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was removed from his post.

At today's meeting in the Supreme Court of South Ossetia, Prosecutor Eduard Dzhioev completely renounced the charges against the deceased Inal Dzhabiev and four episodes of the charges brought against Nikolai Tskhovrebov. He explained that his decision was based on evidence that the suspects were not involved in the assassination attempt on the official. At the same time, he clarified that the attempt had indeed taken place, IA "Res" reported today.

Dzhioev added that there are grounds for convicting Tskhovrebov of illegal possession of firearms and suggested that he be given a three-year suspended sentence. The representative of Nikolai Tskhovrebov, Fatima Gatagonova, objected to the prosecutor, explaining that "Tskhovrebov did not acquire the pistol in question for committing illegal acts, or for the purpose of storing or transferring to anyone," the publication notes.

Nikolai Tskhovrebov himself asked the court to acquit him. The court said that the decision to drop the charge would be announced later along with the verdict, Sputnik-Ossetia writes.

The "Caucasian Knot" also wrote that on July 7, at the next hearing on the criminal case on the death of Inal Dzhabiev and the beating of Nikolai Tskhovrebov and Gersan Kulumbegov, the arrest of two security officials was extended.

Dzhabiev's death sparked mass protests and a political crisis in South Ossetia. Sixteen deputies of parliament from the fall of 2020 to February boycotted parliamentary sessions, preventing a quorum from being collected. In South Ossetia, they could not adopt a budget, the government worked without confirmation of authority, and the work of the parliament was completely paralyzed. At the same time, Dzhabiev’s relatives, dissatisfied with the progress of the investigation, organized a round-the-clock protest rally, which took place on the square in Tskhinvali from December 4, 2020 to February 26. The opposition and protesters sought the dismissal of Prosecutor General Uruzmag Dzhagaev, but stopped the actions  without achieving their goals.

    -Great Cultural Revolution
ACLU, National Education Association Claim Children Are ‘Never' Too Young to Undergo Sex Change
[Breitbart] The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the National Education Association (NEA), and multiple other leftwing organizations claim that students are “never” too young to attempt to change their sex and that “age and maturity … should never be a basis for denying … a transition,” even noting that young minds are “flexible.”
    Not o.k., Groomer.
The shocking claim is in a document titled “Schools in Transition: A Guide for Supporting Transgender Students in K-12 Schools,” which was authored by contributors from the ACLU, the NEA, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Gender Spectrum, and the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR).

In the section titled “Age and Grade Level,” the document argues that “a student’s age and maturity — or that of their peers — should never be a basis for denying a transgender student an opportunity to transition.”

“While it is important to include a student’s age and grade level as factors to consider in the planning process, it should never be used to justify delaying or denying a student’s gender transition,” the document continues.

The document goes on to discuss the role of teachers and administrators, saying “Regardless of the age … there are many activities and lessons that can effectively scaffold a student’s gender transition. Educators, administrators, parents and the transgender student should work together to identify age-appropriate materials for those lessons.”

The document, authored by people from an alliance of leftwing organizations, even notes that teaching children about transgenderism and the transitioning process when they are young may be advantageous since kids have malleable minds. The document reads, “[I]n most cases younger students are much more flexible in their thinking.”

Joel Baum, the Senior Director of Professional Development and Family Services for Gender Spectrum, is one of the lead authors of the document. Breitbart News revealed that Baum was one of the facilitators of a training on gender and sexuality for the National Association of Independent Schools, America’s largest private school network.

The training was conducted in partnership with Gender Spectrum — an organization sponsored by a firm of transgender surgeons called Align Surgical — which has hosted online chat groups that mix minors and adults.

The ACLU and the NEA did not respond to requests for comment.

    Olde Tyme Religion
Muslims Attack Christians for ‘Sin’ of Opening a Church in Egypt
[PJMedia] On the evening of June 23, 2022, Moslem mobs attacked the homes and property of Coptic Christians in al-Hilla, a village in Luxor governate, Upper Egypt.

The occasion of this latest Moslem mob attack on Egypt’s indigenous Christian minority was the legalization of the Church of Michael the Archangel. Although the church was originally built in 2003, it only received formal recognition last week — a wait of 17 years. As soon as the decree (signed by the prime minister) was issued to legalize and open the church — and in anticipation of the expected fanatical Moslem ire — the responsible committee dispatched a security force to set up barriers around the church and protect it.

Upon learning that the church that had been built nearly two decades earlier was finally going to start functioning as a church, Moslems throughout the village "rejected the matter," says one report, "and the process of charging and inflaming the people’s feelings began." Moslems cried out that the building or renovation of a church contradicts shari’a, or Islamic law (as well as the principles captured by the Conditions of Omar, a document purportedly drawn up by Caliph Omar I, which, among several other severe stipulations placed on Christians, holds that new churches can never be built, and preexisting but dilapidated churches can never be repaired).

Before long, the angry mobs, which were augmented by Moslems from neighboring villages, had grown very large and, "amidst hostile chants" — which no doubt included Islam’s jihadist war-cry, "Allahu Akbar!" — began hurling stones through the windows of Coptic homes. According to the report, "the security force charged with protecting the church tried to rebuff them, but the number of assailants was too large."

Before peace could be restored, many Christian homes had been damaged. Several vehicles and cycle of violences parked in front of Coptic homes were also "smashed" or set aflame, including the village priest’s vehicle.

On the following day, Luxor police forces reinforced their presence in the village in anticipation of more Moslem anger following Friday mosque prayers, when imams habitually whip the faithful into a frenzy concerning the alleged sins of the "infidels" who need to be punished. Armed security and national forces, including several armored vehicles, were also deployed all throughout the region, especially around the Church of Michael the Archangel, Christian homes, and surrounding mosques.

    Meanwhile,
...back at the abandoned silver mine, a triangular dorsal fin appeared in the water. Then another...
as the report notes, the traumatized Copts maintain that their "only sin" was to have "obtained an official decision to legalize the church."

It is worth noting that the above scenario has played out countless times in Egypt: whenever a church is built, legalized, or repaired — or is merely rumored to be built, legalized, or repaired — local Moslems riot and attack the Copts. Authorities frequently respond by appeasing the rioters and rescinding the church’s legal status, effectively shutting it down.

Time will tell if the law will, once again, collapse before Moslem mob rule, or if justice will prevail for the Church of Michael the Archangel in Egypt.

    Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Poland confirms scientist being detained in Iran
[BBC] A Polish scientist is being held in Iran, Poland has confirmed, after Iranian state TV reported that several Europeans had been caught spying.

Poland's foreign ministry said the man was detained in September. A Polish university named him as Maciej Walczak.

Iranian news agencies said Mr Walczak was arrested for taking soil samples in a restricted area, along with British deputy ambassador Giles Whitaker and the husband of an Austrian diplomat.

The UK and Austria denied the reports.

Iranian authorities have detained a number of European nationals on spying charges in the past year, amid escalating tensions with the West over stalled efforts to revive a 2015 nuclear deal.

Iranian state TV reported on Wednesday that the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organisation had identified several foreign nationals carrying out "espionage in forbidden zones".

It said Mr Walczak - head of the environmental microbiology and biotechnology department of Poland's Nicolaus Copernicus University - and three Polish colleagues had travelled to a prohibited military zone near the south-eastern city of Shahdad, in the Lut Desert, while an IRGC air defence missile exercise took place nearby.

"The pictures published by IRGC intelligence show that [Walczak] took samples of soil, salt, rocks, clay and water," it alleged.

The Polish foreign ministry issued a statement on Thursday confirming that a "highly reputed scientist" was taken into custody in Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
in September, but it provided no further details about his case.

"Consular and diplomatic steps have been taken to make it possible for him to return to Poland as soon as possible," it added.

A Copernicus University spokesperson confirmed to BBC Persian that Mr Walczak had been arrested along with two other Polish citizens in September. The other two had been released and had returned to Poland, they said.

A spokesperson for the UK Foreign Office spokesperson told the BBC that the "reports of the arrest of a British diplomat in Iran are completely false".

"These reports that our deputy ambassador is currently detained are very interesting," tweeted Simon Shercliff, the British ambassador to Iran. "He actually left Iran last December, at the end of his posting."

The Iranian state TV report said the Austrian cultural attaché's husband was filmed collecting soil samples in the north-eastern Damghan area. It added that he had previously been caught taking photos in a military area of Tehran.

The Austrian foreign ministry said: "All of our staff and their relatives in Tehran are fine. No-one has been detained or arrested."

    Government Corruption
Fed report finds 75% of $800 billion Paycheck Protection Program didn't reach employees
[JustTheNews] Taxpayers paid $4 for every $1 in wages and benefits received by workers in jobs saved by the federal government’s pandemic Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), according to a new study by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

The Fed study also found PPP didn’t support jobs at risk of disappearing, and money flowed disproportionately to wealthier households.

“The PPP was a very large and very timely fiscal-policy intervention, saving about 3 million jobs at its peak in the second quarter of 2020 and distributing $800 billion well within two years of the onset of the COVID-19 crisis,” authors William Emmons and Drew Dahl concluded in their study, “Was the Paycheck Protection Program Effective?”

“But it was poorly targeted, as almost three-quarters of its benefits went to unintended recipients, including business owners, creditors and suppliers, rather than to workers. Due to differences in the typical incomes of those varied constituencies, it also ended up being quite regressive compared with other major COVID-19 relief programs, as it benefited high-income households much more.”

When COVID-19 pandemic-induced executive orders forced small businesses to stop or reduce operations, the PPP was created as a temporary program under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Forgivable loans began on April 3, 2020, one week after President Donald Trump signed the legislation and three weeks after a national emergency was declared. The low-interest loans could be made without collateral for up to $10 million to businesses with fewer than 500 employees. The loans were forgivable if businesses maintained employment and wages at pre-pandemic levels for two to six months following acceptance of the funds.

The Small Business Administration reported 90% of the nearly $800 billion in PPP loans were forgiven by last month, according to the study.

The Fed report quoted research published in the Journal of Economic Perspectives estimating PPP loans saved 2.97 million jobs per week in the second quarter of 2020 and 1.75 million per week during the fourth quarter of 2020. The research also found the cost per job saved for one year was $169,000 to $258,000. The average wage and benefits for a small business employee was $58,200 in 2020.

Small business owners spent $3 out of every $4 in PPP to pay suppliers and meet other expenses, according to the Fed report. The research found that 72% of PPP funds went to households with incomes in the top 20% of the national distribution. Comparatively, 20% to 25% of the federal government’s unemployment insurance went to households in the top 20%. Approximately 10% to 15% of stimulus checks – up to $1,200 per adult and $500 per child – went to households in the top 20%.

Arestovich summed up the military results of the day
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Vesti] A strike on the Crimean bridge is now impossible, since there is nothing to "shoot" to it. But the very desire to hit him is more than legitimate, says Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the OP, summing up the results of the 135th day of the war together with journalist Feygin. Recall that today NATO Commander General Philip Breedlove named the Crimean Bridge a legitimate target for the Armed Forces of Ukraine .

"As HIMARS, M270 approaches, we will move on to such goals ... If Breedlove wants to shoot across the bridge, then I respect this desire in him. Every honest person wants to shoot across the Crimean bridge, but will we shoot? It's real, no problems to drag it somewhere there, find a place in the Zaporozhye region that reaches the Krymsky bridge and fire a rocket from a ground-based installation... But how many of those missiles do we have? And what damage will they inflict on the Krymsky bridge? Shouldn't they be reserved for surface targets? These are big questions. There are no answers yet," the adviser said.

Arestovich also told how the Ukrainian military repelled an enemy attack on Slavyansk. Here the Russian invaders lost a tank company and more than 200 members of the personnel. " An attempt to storm failed to zero ," Arestovich stressed.

"Our guys hung in Bogorodichnoye very strongly when trying to advance. This is the direction from Izyum to Slavyansk. Tanks filled up about 12, a tank company. In total yesterday (I am informed) 35 tanks were filled up. I don’t know whether to believe it or not, but ours do not lie. This is a little more than a tank battalion," Arestovich explained.

On this occasion, the adviser involuntarily punned. “ In general, they repelled the Russian attack. There are more than "two hundredths." The attempt to storm failed to zero. They tried to move and look at the potential of this movement. Well, they were shown the potential," Arestovich said.

"Two hundreds" in his vocabulary are corpses; "cargo 200", as in the Soviet, and then the Russian army, they call the bodies of their military.

Arestovich also said that a document was being prepared that would make it easier for Ukrainian men to travel abroad. In particular, the government is preparing a document that will allow Ukrainian sailors to travel abroad to work on contracts. But he is also convinced that in order to restore the economy, the borders for temporary exit will soon be as open as possible - not only for seafarers. “ There is no need to be afraid that everyone will run away from us. I respect my people too much to believe that everyone will run away from the draft. And if they do, then, frankly, they are needed in the army with such motivation ,” the adviser added.

Tin of goodwill: so bad it's even good
Direct Translation via Google Translate. edited.

Commentary by Russian writer and former militiaman Pavel Kukhmirov

[RODINANANEVE] A few days ago something happened that many (including me) refused to believe until the very end. Even despite the obvious omen in the form of an exchange of "paramedic" Tyra .

I'm talking about the exchange of already quite unambiguous Azov militants (an extremist organization banned in Russia). Which promised not to change under any circumstances. Not only that, it was accompanied by many other things, this exchange. For example, by the fact that the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation asked the court to postpone the meeting at which it was supposed to recognize Azov as a terrorist organization. Which immediately led to quite definite thoughts: after all, such a recognition makes all "Azov" already quite legally criminals by default (including the notorious "drivers" and "cooks").

And I would have written about it earlier, but the events rushed one after another and they were all one to one. This is the departure from the Serpentine, declared as a "gesture of goodwill." This and the subsequent “goodwill gestures” in response in the form of shelling of Belgorod and Kursk. And, finally, this is the resumption of monstrous shelling of the cities of Donbass.

First of all, Donetsk, which just yesterday again experienced one of the most terrible days since the beginning of the war. And I'm not talking about 2022. But, you know, for me personally, the key marker of everything is still the exchange of “Azov”. Like some kind of dominant event. In his light, we will talk. Today I'm just going to share my experience with you. It took me a few days to put it all in my head and somehow summarize.

And I will divide my impressions into several blocks.

    I. Form. And the form of what happened, to put it mildly, is not encouraging. Society was simply confronted with a fact: they exchanged everything. Before that, again, repeatedly vowing that this would not happen. Moreover, by and large, they did not begin to talk with society even after the incident. I demonstrate complete disrespect and even some kind of nobility. The passages of a number of guards that, they say, who are you to ask, I will not even mention.

II. Content. It is not so conspicuous, but, if you look, much more sad. Let's start with the fact that I stubbornly did not leave the feeling of natural schizoidness of what was happening. In the direct, medical, sense of the word: “shiza” is a bifurcation. So, on the one hand, we are liberating Severodonetsk and Lysichansk, and on the other hand, they are liberating the “Azovites”, making “goodwill gestures” and allowing the resumption of the artillery genocide in the Donbass.

Moreover, this "shiza" caught my eye not only to me. The author of one of the Donetsk TG channels uttered a very characteristic phrase that he no longer wants to use the word "denazification". I don't think I need to explain why. And this problem is much deeper than his emotions. Moreover, its roots are at a fundamental level. They are in the very official lack of ideology that our leaders are so proud of.

Here are the results in practice: the declared denazification, which is a purely ideological goal, is not realized in practice. Because our non-ideological arbiters in uniform simply do not understand what exactly they are doing.

III. Impression. And this is the biggest moment. First, what happened is disgusting. I say this directly, not at all embarrassed by the emotional coloring of this phrase. It is also disgusting because the infernal reptiles with human blood on their hands were released (and it is there, which has already become clear).

And according to the very form of presentation to people: first silence, then a lie (that completely innocent disabled people who were not involved in crimes were exchanged, and then it turned out the opposite), and then aggression and an attempt at dirty manipulation - they say, are you against the release of our guys ? I don't want to comment on this at all.

Once again, this is gross. It's just gross. Well, according to the results, too: the enemy propagandistically won back this whole festival of "good will" by 100 percent. I have already watched the interviews of the characters from Azovstal, who were exchanged, who say that, they say, "They were respected in captivity." Guys, the very glorification of hellish creatures, which I warned about a few months ago, is happening with your hands.

    IV. Conclusions.

First (and most importantly): the situation has shown that in fact we are now having two wars. And at once on several planes. Firstly, they are different for the lower classes (for whom it is popular and sacred) and the upper classes (for whom it is generally not clear what drives it).

Secondly, on the part of the official Russian Federation, it is “pragmatic” (because of which such exchanges and such “goodwill gestures” become possible), and on the part of Ukraine, it is ideological (and that says it all, including in terms of further developments on their part).

Thirdly, on the part of the Russian Federation, this is a war of a “limited contingent”, “humane” and in general “on the floor of a bump” (excuse my French), and on the part of Ukraine this is a total war with all the consequences, which I also spoke about literally just now .

The second conclusion: now the desire of the Moscow authorities (at least part of it) to reach an agreement is already clearly recorded. I say right away to citizens, guards and patriots on the payroll: I am not going to discuss this thesis from the word “in general”. It's just a fact that I postulate. His statement is an ultimatum.

Well, the third conclusion. Which personally calms me down. And he is still the same: the enemy has once again shown that he will not betray us under any circumstances. His reaction to all these obscene and disgusting proposals of an agreement is so obvious and eloquent that it does not even need to be commented on.

Summing up all this, I can say that it may even be for the better. As they say, what happened is so bad it's good. Against the background of the impenetrable brutality of the enemy and his unwillingness to negotiate in any form, a painful, but necessary birth of a new reality will inevitably occur. Which are already too late. And what happened has every chance to accelerate them.

There is only one thing that worries me: the waste of time. Because while behind the high fortress walls it reaches some like a giraffe, the country and the army are wasting time. Meanwhile, American MLRS and high-precision barreled artillery are moving towards the enemy.

Gentlemen, who care for the “war with small forces” and still deny the need for a transition to general mobilization, probably want to wait until the number of these guns goes into the hundreds, and American F-16 fighters and modern air defense systems are also added to them? If you do not finish off the enemy at least in the Donbass before this happens, our country will have to win in blood up to the nostrils. But that will be a completely different story.

The main thing is for the night. Friday, July 8
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[LB] The General Staff reports that the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled the invaders near Bogorodychny and Dementiivka near Kharkiv . The Armed Forces of Ukraine also repressed attempts at an enemy assault on the Kharkiv and Slavyansk directions.

In the direction of Bakhmut, the occupiers are advancing in the direction of Veselaya Dolyna and in the area of the settlement of Spirne. In the Donetsk direction - in the Verkhnokamyansky direction, they have partial success.

The General Staff also informs that the Armed Forces destroyed about 250 Russian soldiers, 35 tanks and 14 armored vehicles last day . In total, from February 24 to July 8, the Ukrainian army eliminated about 36,900 occupiers.

The enemy suffered the greatest losses in the Kramatorsk direction.

Other losses of the invaders are in the news.

It will be recalled that the intelligence of Great Britain reported that Russia is probably concentrating equipment on the front line in the direction of the city of Siversk in the Donetsk region - approximately 8 km west of the current Russian front line. The Russian military is probably taking a break before starting new offensive operations in the Donetsk region.

Last day in Donetsk region, the Russian invaders killed six civilians - in Kramatorsk, Sloviansk, Avdiyivka, Siversk, Pokrovsky and Orlivka. 21 people were injured, Pavlo Kyrylenko, the head of Donetsk OVA, reported in Telegram.

The aggressor is constantly shelling Donetsk region, killing and injuring citizens, destroying the civil infrastructure of populated areas.

At night, Russia shelled Chernihiv Oblast with machine guns and hit Kharkov with anti-aircraft guns . Artillery was fired along the border of the Sumy Oblast, according to the morning summary of the regional military administrations.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the enemy again shelled two communities of Kryvorizka district - Apostolivska and Zelenodolska. In Zelenodolsk, they targeted the park area and the country estate.

Explosions rang out in Mykolaiv in the morning.

The night was relatively calm in Volyn, Zakarpattia, Rivne Oblast, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhya, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil Oblasts, Kirovohrad Oblast, Cherkasy Oblast, Khmelnytskyi Oblast, Odesa Oblast, Poltava Oblast, Zhytomyr Oblast and Kyiv Oblast.

As a result of yesterday's shelling of Kramatorsk, people were killed and wounded . The exact number of victims is being clarified, the regional police of Donetsk region reported.

According to preliminary data, around 1:00 p.m., the Russians fired a 9M723 missile from the Iskander-M missile complex at the city. The rocket hit the residential sector, 15 houses were damaged. Evidence of a war crime has been collected.

The former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, was assassinated during his performance on the stage of the sports complex in the city of Nara.

Abe was reportedly hospitalized bleeding and unconscious. Eyewitnesses heard shots in the hall, security detained one suspect.

The Parliament of Finland passed a law on strengthening the border with Russia.

"Fearing that Moscow could use migration for political pressure, new amendments to the Border Protection Act promote the construction of stronger fences along the country's 800-mile (1,300 km) eastern border with Russia," the report said.

"The war in Ukraine has made this issue urgent," said Anne Ihanus, senior adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Currently, Finland's borders are protected mainly by light wooden fences that prevent animals from entering the country. Currently, it is planned to build a strong fence with a real barrier effect.

    Voenkor recalls forgotten common truths
Direct Translation via Google Transate. Edited.

Voenkor is a Russian portmanteau for military correspondent.

Commentary by military blogger Andrey Chervonets:

A military commissar with the call sign Older Edda, who works mainly in the Kharkov and Izyum directions, shares his thoughts:

Yes, a number of systems received from the West allow strikes with high accuracy to great depths, especially with data from NATO satellite intelligence.

At the same time, the number of such systems is not enough to cause significant one-time damage. This allows you to a) think about the reaction and b) organize the counteraction.

On the first point, you just need to remember your own experience, starting with the military and continuing with local conflicts. This experience shows that the crowded placement of equipment must be punished, the location must be carefully dispersed and even more carefully masked. Headquarters must be masked especially diligently, regularly moved and spaced in space with communication centers so that the location of the headquarters cannot be revealed by activity on the air.

Large warehouses in the frontline are evil, they need to be crushed, this greatly complicates logistics, but it is better to solve this problem than to lose a large batch of ammunition at the same time. Aircraft at airfields, given that the enemy has UAVs, in no case should be placed in a line, it must be pushed 1-2 cars into pockets distant from each other, mixed with cars for repair / storage,

According to the second, dedicated groups of hunters for important goals, with proper motivation and support, can work wonders. The hunt for enemy air defense, his MLRS, the remaining "Points", and long-range artillery should be a joint task of groups from the SOF, dedicated units of the Aerospace Forces, artillerymen and intelligence in all its diversity, from satellite to local undercover.

It will become even easier to fight these goals if, nevertheless, a decision is made to remove bridges across the Dnieper. Whole here and now, they interfere with us much more than they can interfere with those demolished when it comes to forcing the river. And the Armed Forces of Ukraine will immediately demolish them if such a threat arises, there is no doubt about it.

    P.S.
All these common truths have been written before us. But, as they say, a peacetime army is always a peacetime army, some time is needed to change the psychology

We went through all this 80 years ago, when we demilitarized and denazified Germany. Now all the same castle has to be done with Bandera.

Texas Border County Officially Declares ‘Invasion,' Urges Governor to Follow
[Breitbart] Kinney County, Texas, declared the “existence of an ‘invasion'” along the Texas border with Mexico. The declaration calls on Texas Governor Greg Abbott to also “acknowledge the existence of an invasion on our border with Mexico.” Five other counties spoke in support of Kinney County’s declaration.

County Officials from Uvalde, Kinney, Terrell, Medina, Burnet, and Goliad Counties met in Bracketteville on Tuesday afternoon to express concerns over the rapidly rising numbers of migrants illegally crossing the border from Mexico into Texas.

A press release from Kinney County details the impact of the surge of human smuggling activity in their county.

“During the month of June, Kinney County law enforcement has prevented over 67 smuggling attempts along our roadways,” the statement reads. “This past weekend included the unfortunate deaths of 3 illegal aliens who were involved with human smuggling in Kinney County.”

The officials stated the county has been forced to “militarize our school campus with vehicle barriers to prevent high-speed chases from entering campus and injuring children.”

“As a Texan, this is not acceptable,” County Judge Tully Shahan wrote. “We will no longer allow the sovereignty of Texas to be invaded by those unwilling to obey our laws.”

“That is why today, July 5, 2022, Kinney County, joined by several other counties on the Texas border, are declaring the existence of an “invasion” as used in Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution and in Article 4, Section 7 of the Texas Constitution.”

“We are taking these steps in hopes of encouraging our Governor to acknowledge the existence of an invasion on our border with Mexico and take the necessary actions to preserve and protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Texas.”

AOC Mocks Kavanaugh being Terrorized at Restaurant
[MSN] "Poor guy. He left before his soufflé," said AOC, mocking media coverage of the protest

Following reports that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh left a DC steakhouse early on Wednesday night amid protests outside, Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York took issue with media coverage of the incident.

"Poor guy. He left before his soufflé because he decided half the country should risk death if they have an ectopic pregnancy within the wrong state lines," the prominent progressive a "Squad" member wrote on Twitter. "It's all very unfair to him. The least they could do is let him eat cake."

Kavanaugh was one of six justices that voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, revoking the constitutional right to an abortion.

In the wake of that ruling, women with ectopic pregnancies — which occur when an embryo implants outside the uterus, can be life-threatening, and never result in a live birth — may no longer be able to access care in states that enact sweeping abortion bans.
Or possibly may. These scary hypotheticals are more hypothetical than scary.
Politico reported on Friday that Kavanaugh left Morton's as protesters with ShutDownDC
...one of the Soros stable of point-n-shoot activist groups...
gathered outside, though they also reported that the conservative Supreme Court Justice "did not hear or see the protesters and ate a full meal but left before dessert."
In other words, he wasn’t terrorized at all.

    Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Russian Perspective: Operation to Denazify Ukraine: Operational Brief July 8th (updated)
    Direct Translation via Google Translate.

Kindly note that several entries in this article were removed because they included discussions of the grand strategic level.

[NewsFrontInfo] 23:51 The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have created the necessary conditions for the operation of two maritime humanitarian corridors, which are safe lanes for the movement of ships: in the Black Sea (daily from 08:00 to 19:00 (Moscow time) - to exit the ports of Kherson, Nikolaev, Chornomorsk, Ochakov, Odessa and Yuzhny in the southwest direction from the territorial sea of Ukraine with a length of 139 miles and a width of 3 miles; in the Sea of Azov (round the clock) - for the exit from the port of Mariupol with a length of 115 miles and a width of 2 miles in the direction of the Black Sea.

23:09 Despite the obstacles created by the Kyiv regime, over the past day, without the participation of the Ukrainian authorities, 24,660 people, including 3,607 children, have been evacuated to the territory of the Russian Federation from dangerous regions of Ukraine and the Donbass republics, and in total since the beginning of the special military operation - 2,409,234 people, of which 379,227 are children.

22:41 A total of 747 tons of essentials and products were transferred to the population of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as Kharkiv and Kherson regions by representatives of the Russian Federation.

21:24 In the Kherson direction, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have again heavy losses today. Over the past day, Ukrainian troops have lost:

    - more than 200 people killed and wounded;
    — three UAVs;
    - two military vehicles of the "pickup" class;
    — two Su-25 attack aircraft;
    - two MiG-29 fighters;
    - five armored fighting vehicles;
    - three anti-tank missile systems;
    - five operational-tactical missiles of the Tochka-U complex and 16 rockets were intercepted in the air;
    - a command post of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was destroyed;
    - two control points of the rear of the operational command "South" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed.

19:46 The head of the provisional civil administration (CAA) of the Kharkiv region signed a decree on the introduction of martial law in the liberated territories of the region, the press service of the CCA told TASS.

17:15 The situation in the Nikolaevsko-Krivoy Rog direction as of 17.00 July 8, 2022:

▪️The Ukrainian command still intends to conduct a counteroffensive in certain sectors of the front. To assess the situation in the area of Blagodatnoye and Shesternya, two maneuverable electronic intelligence groups were sent.
▪️In the Nikolaev direction, Ukrainian units intended to carry out several sabotage attacks at night on the positions of the RF Armed Forces in the directions of Posad-Pokrovskoye - Stepovaya Dolina.

However, Russian troops revealed the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and carried out a massive shelling of Ukrainian positions in Posad-Pokrovsky, Stepova Dolina, Novogrigorovka. As a result of the force of 28 Ombr, 59 Ombr and consolidated companies of the defense, they suffered losses.

Several dozen wounded Ukrainian soldiers were sent to Nikolaev. The servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Posad-Pokrovsky left the settlement without permission, refusing to perform tasks. Currently, the garrison in Posad-Pokrovsky is virtually absent, the village is located in the "gray zone".

A similar situation arose in Stepovaya Dolina, where the personnel of the 2nd battalion of the 28th Ombre lost more than 20 people killed and wounded in two days. To hold the settlement, the rotation of the brigade military personnel to the territorial defense units from Pervomaisky was carried out.

▪️In the Krivoy Rog direction, low-intensity clashes took place at the Lozovoye-Zarechnoye line. Ukrainian assault groups, supported by tactical aircraft, tried to gain a foothold in the gray zone on this sector of the front.

However, as a result of mortar and artillery shelling by units of the RF Armed Forces against the advancing forces in the Davydov Brod area, the 63rd Ombpr suffered losses and the personnel retreated from the occupied areas.

At the same time, a Su-25 attack aircraft and a MiG-29 fighter of the Ukrainian Air Force were shot down in the Belaya Krinitsa-Ozerovka area. And at one of the observation posts, the NLAW MANPADS were found.

▪️After several unsuccessful offensive attempts, the HIMARS MLRS attempted to defeat the Novokakhovskaya HPP. Air defense systems of the RF Armed Forces shot down part of the shells.
▪️Russian artillery and mortar crews hit the objects of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Nikolaev, Galitsynovo, Bereznegovatoy, Malomikhailovsky, Zelenodolsk, Novosemenovka, Shirokovsky, Stepova Dolina, Posad-Pokrovsky, Novogrigorovka, Zarechny.

The situation in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog direction remains tense. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to break through the defense line of the RF Armed Forces in different sectors of the front. Despite the loud statements of Ukrainian propagandists, the attempts end in heavy losses and retreat to the previous lines.

This can explain the strikes on civilian targets in the Kherson region using Tochka-U OTRK and HIMARS MLRS. The tactics of terror and intimidation of the civilian population testify to the desire to inflict as much damage as possible on the areas under the control of the RF Armed Forces.

17:00 Kherson region started deliveries of watermelons to Russia.

16:40 In Melitopol, the public movement "We are together with Russia" began to work. The initiators show people that absolutely all problems can be solved together. The main thing is not to sit idly by, but to draw public attention to exciting issues. Russia is one big soul where they don't leave their own.

15:49 Residents of Karachev, Bryansk region, report on the work of air defense in the sky above the city. Presumably, a Ukrainian drone was shot down.

15:30 In Nova Kakhovka, the deputy chief of police, who went over to the Russian side, was shot dead. After the transition of New Kakhovka under the control of the Russian army, Sergei Tomko carried out political activities in favor of Russia. He supported the release, did not resign, and eventually became the deputy chief of police in Nova Kakhovka. But he did not have time to work in a new position for a long time - yesterday, 26-year-old Sergei was shot dead in his own car. They are looking for the killer and the investigation is underway.

15:02 A Ukrainian drone attacked the village of Novye Yurkovichi in the Bryansk region - an explosive device fell on a gas station. It all happened today, around 12:30. According to preliminary information, there are no victims. Within walking distance from the explosion site: residential buildings, the building of the village administration and the Novye Yurkovichi border checkpoint.

13:41 The first submarine carrier of marine drones "Poseidon" - "Belgorod" was handed over to the Russian Navy.

13:39 The Armed Forces of Ukraine struck a hydroelectric power station in Nova Kakhovka, there are victims - the deputy head of the administration of the Kherson region.

12:18 In the Odessa region, two installations of the Harpoon coastal missile system delivered from the UK were destroyed, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

09:40 A public movement of volunteers and specialists from the region and the Russian Federation will be created in Zaporozhye. The authorities of the Zaporozhye region decided to create a public movement "We are with Russia", which will involve volunteers and specialists from the region and Russia.
