Two-minute video rant via American Digest by a gentleman with respectfully disagrees with the lockdown. He may be wrong, but you won't catch me telling him so.
[AmericanDigest] But it’s not gonna be peaceful much longer. This isn’t a threat, I am not a criminal, I’ve never been a criminal, but I’m telling you: good citizens are gonna turn into real concerned and revolutionary citizens real soon. And nobody else is gonna say that. I’m probably the only person that has the balls to say what I’m saying right now. That we’re building, we’re organizing, and we’ll work with law enforcement or without law enforcement. But you won’t stop us when time comes because our families are starving.

Yeah, if they're chained in their basement with a 23-hr ball gag. That's why Slow Joe gets regular feedings of pudding and jello, and ice cream on Fridays

Good point about the fact that Gates has his own plane, so why "Air Epstein", Bill, the food better? But, that can't be. Bill said he had "no connection".
[Babylon Bee] U.S.—According to sources at the DNC, Joe Biden, a man who has been part of government since before Jaws, Star Wars, the Walkman, the NES, and the publishing of The Silmarillion, is just the man for the difficult task of fixing the government.
"This man who has been part of the broken system since 1972 is our last hope to fix the broken system," said a DNC spokesperson. "See, since he's been part of the problem for so long, only he knows how bad the problem is. So only he can fix it. If you got some outsider with, like, morals and stuff, they would be too horrified to even go to Washington in the first place."
"No, we need someone who's been part of the swamp and has participated in much injustice, oppression, and bloodshed to fix the whole thing from the ground up."
He also has a cop helping him out, sources confirmed at publishing time.
[DT via 21stCenturyWire] New evidence has emerged which shows that UK hospital admissions for COVID-19 were ’over-reported’ during the height of the crisis back in April. It seems that patients who were being taken in for other common illnesses were in fact being counted as ’COVID’ in the government’s statistical totals.
This latest embarrassing admission comes on the heels of other similar revelations of dubious record-keeping by the government — all of which have been pivotal in giving the false impression to the public that there were more COVID deaths than actually took place. Back in July, UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock was forced to admit how data from Public Health England regarding coronavirus fatalities were being fraudulently recorded — effectively ’double counting’ their deaths, forcing the government officials to revise their totals downwards to reflect more realist numbers.
This latest ’COVID counting’ scandal in the area of hospital admissions shows why the these numbers are crucial in how government policies are sold to the public. Professor Carl Heneghan, director of the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine (CEBM) at Oxford University said, "The admissions data is a crucial point. I’d say it is more important than the death data because it is the best marker of the impact of the disease."
This widespread practice of exaggerating COVID casualty numbers appears to have aided the government in justifying its shaky position on to imposing draconian ’lockdown’ measures and school closures, as well as to hype the imminent release of a COVID ’miracle’ vaccine which the UK government has been developing in partnership with pharmaceutical firms like AstaZeneca and its vaccine financiers at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
The Telegraph reports...
Hospital admissions for Covid-19 were over-reported at the peak of the pandemic, with patients who were taken in for other illnesses being included in outbreak statistics, it has emerged.
An investigation for the Government’s Science Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) found that people were being counted as Covid hospital admissions if they had ever had the virus, and were added to those being admitted directly due to it.
Government figures show that, at the peak of the pandemic in early April, nearly 20,000 people a week were being admitted to hospital with coronavirus (see graph below), but the true figure is unknown because of the problem with over-counting....

Good to see they are going back and cleaning up their numbers. The surprise is that a national health system overwhelmed even under good conditions was able to collect enough data that it could be cleaned up at all.
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Their final breaths are tormented. Rublas Ruiz has seen too many of them -- the last gasps of 17 men and women who died of the coronavirus.
A 41-year-old ICU nurse in Miami’s Kendall Regional Medical Center, Ruiz has witnessed the desperate, pleading, wide-eyed, barely there gasps.
"The fear in their eyes when they can’t get enough air. They are so scared," he says, quietly. "Their eyes are big, desperate to get the oxygen and that makes me so sad."
He sits on their bed, grasps their hand, strokes their cheek and prays. Anything to soothe them.
"I know you cannot talk, but I’m going to talk to you," he tell them. "You have to be positive, you have to have faith that God is going to get you out of this."
Often, he ducks away to sob in the bathroom. It is a rare moment alone, when he can cast off the brave countenance.
Then he splashes water on his face and returns to the floor that has been his work home since March. While other nurses rotate in and out of the COVID-19 ICU unit to limit their exposure to the deadly virus, he’s asked to stay permanently.
It’s his calling.
"I’m here for them. This is what I was meant to do," says Ruiz.
"Many nurses have left. They don’t want to deal with it, they’re afraid, they’re scared, they see other people getting infected."
Full Coverage: Virus Outbreak
Miami-Dade County has been the epicenter of the state’s outbreak with about 2,000 deaths since March -- more than 20 percent of the state’s total. As Florida cases skyrocketed this summer, Miami hospitals were especially overloaded in the second half of July.
For Ruiz, his routine is the same every day. He prays in the car on the way to the hospital: "Dear God, this is your day, put me in your hands and help me do what you want me to do. This is your creation and let me help you out."
Then, he says, "I take a deep breath when I get out of the car and go to battle."
As many as 10 patients have died in his ward in a single week.
At one point, he started counting, "and then I stopped doing that because there were so many."
Right now, he can’t stop thinking about the 45-year-old father who has been intubated for more than two weeks, "seeing this young guy almost my age, just four years older than me ..."
His voice trails off. "We know he’s not going to make it."
The hardest part is watching them die alone.
Playing the role of family has become almost more important than his nursing responsibilities. He tried to distract an elderly patient from searching for virus treatments on the Internet by asking him questions about his work as an inspector for the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Ruiz could sense the retired man’s fear: "He was looking really, really sad and then that also made me cry that day." His condition deteriorated in less than a week, and he died.
He tries to connect patients with loved ones as much as possible through video chats. But ultimately, he’s the one bearing witness to their final breaths.
"I have never seen in my life so many deaths, in a week or a month," he says. "The room gets empty and another patient comes in."

In my mother’s final years she went to icu several times. When I sat with her it wasn’t unusual to see a body rolled out. A lot of people died in icu long before c19.
Ruiz May be new to the job.

Huge respect for the nurses and staff at an ICU, having to deal daily with gravely ill patients and the concomitant deaths.
But #3 is spot on. The hospital is in Miami and this article, along with all the other sniping at how DeSantis and Florida are dealing with Corona, crowds, and reopening, is another drop in the drip drip drip ... keeping Florida voters - especially retired and elderly voters - on edge and to impel them and keep them motivated to vote Biden because someone somewhere somehow has to do something about all the Florida death.
The lack of MSM criticism of Cuomo in NY trickles down to benefit the Dems in Florida. NY retirees in Florida are kept uninformed about the bullet they dodged by getting out of NY. Many still have their NY politics intact during the move South. Biden is going to win NY, but Florida is the perennial quadrennial battleground. Those FL voters need to be motivated, by fear if necessary, to vote for Biden/Harris. This article certainly checks that box.

"I have never seen in my life so many deaths, in a week or a month."
[FoxNews] The use of National Guard reconnaissance planes in four U.S. cities to monitor the widespread protests earlier this year didn't violate rules against the military collecting intelligence on Americans, a Pentagon report has concluded.
The investigation by the Air Force inspector general found that the planes were used to gather information about crowd size, crowd flows and fires but they did not monitor individuals. The probe was ordered by Defense Secretary Mark Esper in response to questions within the department and Congress about whether the military illegally conducted surveillance of American citizens during the unrest after the death of George Floyd.
The surveillance aircraft were used in four locations. And while the report found no intelligence gathering violations, it concluded that the Defense Department doesn't have adequate rules for the use of the RC-26 plane and that the aircraft is incorrectly considered to be a non-intelligence platform.
The plane is flown by the National Guard, and most often is used for counterdrug operations and in disasters to assess damage, help locate civilians and for other similar missions.
The investigation reviewed seven flights by the aircraft in Minnesota, Arizona, California and Washington, D.C. If found that while the sensors on the aircraft could show buildings and vehicles, they “were not capable of identifying any distinguishing features of people” and they did not have the capability of collecting information from cellphones or radios.
The report, submitted by the Air Force inspector general, Lt. Gen. Sami Said, said the RC-26 should be considered an intelligence aircraft, which would require more senior approvals for the use of the plane and more strict guidance on the missions.
The use of the surveillance planes was not approved by Esper, because officials did not think that was required. But the report concludes the defense secretary should have final approval over those missions. It also found that Pentagon policies about the approval and use of the aircraft were vague and needed to be tightened.
The Air Force report did not look into the use of helicopters by the National Guard in Washington, where there were reports that they hovered low over protesters, creating a deafening noise and spraying the crowd with rotor wash.

Nobody said much about FBI aerial surveillance back in April of 1993 at Waco. Over 70 people actually turned up dead during that episode, women and kids also.
[Babylon Bee] Fans nervously gathered by the dozens on Thursday to hear Joe Biden's historic acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. After 20 minutes, supporters and Democrats across the nation were blown away by Biden's ability to make it through a coherent speech without forgetting who he was or falling asleep.
As the Biden delivered his final words, Democrats exhaled and erupted in rapturous applause, their abysmal expectations shattered.
"I can't believe it! He actually did it!" one campaign staffer exclaimed. "It's taken weeks to prepare for this event. We had to make sure and remove any distractions, such as heads of hair, or shiny objects from the stage. We surrounded him with teleprompters which included colorful pictures. He practiced reading the speech 1,200 times. We've been pumping him full of various drugs for 3 days to keep him more lucid. All our hard work paid off!"
"This is an inspiring story of bravery and strength in the face of senility," said NBC anchor Chuck Todd. "If Biden did this, imagine what he can do for this country!" Todd said through tears of joy.
"What did I miss?" asked Biden after walking down the steps of the stage as fireworks exploded in the sky. "Say, what a swell 4th of July show they put on around here! Reminds me of the good ol' days at the segregated five and dime down the street where we used to get our soda-pop! Corn Pop and the boys used to give me and Judy-Mae some real trouble there." He was quickly whisked away by a team of attendants.
Sources in the campaign say that Biden is now taking a well-deserved nap and will be preserved on ice until the next public appearance.

The Babylon Bee was too obvious. Everyone knows Biden can't speak coherently for more than 20 minutes.
[Washington Examiner] U.S. Attorney John Durham interviewed former CIA Director John Brennan for eight hours on Friday as he wraps up his inquiry into the Russia investigation, according to a statement on behalf of the Obama administration intelligence chief.
Getting ahead of whatever report the federal prosecutor is expected to release, which President Trump and his allies believe will be a damning assessment of the actions taken by top intelligence and national security officials taken against Trump's campaign and administration, Brennan also declared he confronted Durham about the politicization of his efforts.
A statement from Nick Shapiro, Brennan's former deputy chief of staff and senior adviser, also claimed the former CIA director was told he is not under criminal investigation. I seem to remember the Orange Man being told something quite similar.
They met at CIA headquarters and discussed "issues related to Russia’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election," Shapiro said, adding that Durham informed Brennan that "he is not a subject or a target of a criminal investigation, and that he is only a witness to events that are under review." Met at CIA headquarters? I thought Brennan no longer worked at the CIA? 'Red Badged' was he ?

Apparently clear of legal jeopardy, Brennan took aim at the premise of the inquiry.
So Brennan ends up grilling Durham on Brennan's own turf and real locus of power. Nice, very nice. Hat tip to host Director Gina Haspel and Durham for the thrilling, closed session softball game.
Looks like the big one just got away, as has been predicted here for three years or so. Obama and Biden walked to home plate and scored runs. Both were met with raucous cheering and 'high fives' in the Deep State dugout.

Brennan also declared he confronted Durham about the politicization of his efforts.
Really good lawyers and investigators listen a lot more than they talk, hoping the person being interviewed will reveal useful information of his own free will. Brennan’s confronting, in this context, may well have been exactly what U.S. Attorney John Durham was hoping for from the man not currently under criminal investigation.

Trump being able to appoint 1 more SCOTUS Justice that follows the US Constitution and not the

BLUF:
[Daily Beast] Now the celebrity tabloid OK! Magazine is reporting that ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton "gifted" Maxwell’s nephew, Alexander Djerassi, a position within her department when he was just out of college and gave him "special treatment."
A State Department spokesperson told The Daily Beast that Djerassi served as a "Staff Assistant" from May 2009 to June 2012. The Daily Beast could not confirm whether the role was in fact "gifted" by Clinton.
But a friend of Djerassi told The Daily Beast that Maxwell played no part in introducing Djerassi to Clinton or recommending him for the jobs with the former First Lady.
"These are false allegations against a talented and qualified public servant," the friend said.
The reports come as Maxwell, 58, awaits trial in a Brooklyn federal lockup for allegedly grooming and trafficking girls for Epstein.
The report also appears to reference Djerassi’s LinkedIn profile, which lists his role as chief of staff for the "Office of the Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs" from May 2011 to June 2012. Djerassi served as special assistant to the office from May 2009 to May 2011, his online profile says.
Djerassi’s name also popped up in a collection of Clinton’s emails hacked via WikiLeaks. In a November 2011 message, Assistant Secretary Jeffrey Feltman referred to his "special assistant, Alex Djerassi." Feltman mentioned Djerassi again in a January 2012 email, according to WikiLeaks.
Djerassi was also a nonresident associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. A biography on the endowment’s website states Djerassi’s research "focused on Tunisia and U.S. foreign policy toward the Middle East and North Africa." The bio adds, "From 2009 to 2012, Djerassi was chief of staff and special assistant in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, covering U.S. relations with Arab states, Israel, and Iran. He worked on matters relating to democratization and civil society in the Arab world, the Arab uprisings, and Israeli-Palestinian peace."
Bummer. But that’s why we do the research. Has anybody tested this in combination with other compounds, as Hydroxychloroquine has been with Zithromax and zinc?
[AlAhram] Moderately ill COVID-19 patients saw their condition improve after a 5-day course of Gilead Sciences Inc's remdesivir, but the drug did not significantly shorten hospital stays and a 10-day course did not show a benefit, according to new data.
The drug, which was shown in a trial of severely ill COVID-19 patients to shorten their hospital recovery time, has been at the forefront of the battle against the pandemic.
The 600-patient analysis, published on Friday by the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that moderately ill patients treated with the antiviral drug for up to 5 days had significantly higher odds of improvement in certain areas, such as whether or not they needed supplemental oxygen, compared to patients given standard treatment.
Researchers said the clinical importance of the benefit for those patients was uncertain, however.
Remdesivir is currently sold under an emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for treating patients hospitalized with severe COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... . Gilead earlier this month filed an application seeking full FDA approval of the drug.
Differing trial results for remdesivir raise "the question of whether the discrepancies are artifacts of study design choices, including patient populations, or whether the drug is less efficacious than hoped," according to a JAMA editorial accompanying the study.
The new study in moderately ill COVID-19 patients showed that 11 days after starting treatment, 65% of the 10-day remdesivir patients, 70% of the 5-day patients and 60% of the standard care patients had left the hospital.
Side effects seen more frequently in the remdesivir groups included nausea, low blood potassium levels, and headache.
The JAMA editorial said important questions remain regarding the efficacy of remdesivir, including which patients are most likely to benefit from the drug, the optimal duration of therapy, the drug's impact on clinical outcomes, and its relative effect if combined with generic steroid treatments.
Shares of Gilead were up 18 cents at $66.24 on the Nasdaq exchange.

[DefendingDemocracyTogether.org] We are profoundly concerned about our nation's security and standing in the world under the leadership of Donald Trump. The President has demonstrated that he is dangerously unfit to serve another term.
We are former national security officials who served during the administrations of Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and/or Donald Trump, or as Republican Members of Congress. We are profoundly concerned about the course of our nation under the leadership of Donald Trump. Through his actions and his rhetoric, Trump has demonstrated that he lacks the character and competence to lead this nation and has engaged in corrupt behavior that renders him unfit to serve as President.
For the following reasons, we have concluded that Donald Trump has failed our country and that Vice President Joe Biden should be elected the next President of the United States.

Neocons turned GOP into warmongers.
Worst thing Reagan ever did was brining Bush into the government. I know it seemed like the comprimise to do but a lot of crap resulted.
[AlAhram] More than 100 Ghanaians stranded in Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... have returned home on the first voluntary migrant repatriation flight from Libya since the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... pandemic began, the UN migration agency said Friday.
Most of the 118 passengers on the charter flight from the Libyan capital to Accra were male migrant workers, but seven women, three children and two infants were also onboard, the International Organization for Migration said.
"Many of them had been working in Libya for years," IOM spokeswoman Safa Msehli told news hounds at the United Nations ...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense... in Geneva.
"Others had arrived in the past few years but due to the severity of the conflict and the COVID-19 situation, they found themselves out of jobs, out of income, were stranded and have decided to go home."
Some had been sleeping on the streets and were provided with shelter during the five-month halt to the IOM's voluntary humanitarian return programme.
At least 2,300 people in Libya have registered for the programme. A repatriation flight to Bangladesh is planned for September, while one due to fly to Mali next week has been put on hold due to the coup in the west African country.
The scheme is "a critical lifeline for migrants colonists wishing to return home", said Msehli.
In the first quarter of 2020, it helped 1,466 stranded migrants colonists return from Libya, she said.
Last year, nearly 9,800 people returned to 34 countries across Africa and Asia.
- MIGRATION ROUTE -
Libya has been in chaos ever since the 2011 overthrow and killing of leader Moamer Qadaffy in a NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants... -backed uprising, though its warring rival administrations said Friday that they would cease all hostilities and organise nationwide elections soon.
And since the ousting of Qadaffy, Libya has become a key route for irregular migration from Africa into Europe, across the Mediterranean Sea.
At least 45 migrants colonists and refugees perished off Libya this week in the deadliest shipwreck there so far this year, the UN said on Wednesday.
The 37 rescued survivors were mainly from Senegal ... a nation of about 14 million on the west coast of Africa bordering Mauretania to the north, Mali to the east, and a pair of Guineas to the south, one of them Bissau. It is 90 percent Mohammedan and has more than 80 political parties. Its primary purpose seems to be absorbing refugees... , Mali, Chad and Ghana.
The latest tragedy brings to 302 the known number of migrants colonists and refugees to have perished on the Mediterranean route so far this year.
"The insecurity at the border and the lack of monitoring at the border does not allow us to have a clear idea of how many people are making their way into Libya, or how many people attempt to cross the Mediterranean," said Msehli.
"We did see many cases where hundreds of migrants colonists were stranded or left by smugglers between the Niger and Libya border, signalling that smuggling and trafficking activity continues towards the country."

[TheDiplomat] On August 4, China’s Global Times reported that SU-30MKK Flanker fighter jets belonging to the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) had conducted a 10-hour patrol over the South China Sea, breaking the air force’s previous record of 8.5 hours.
Although the report suggested only one SU-30 had made the 10-hour flight, an online video showed five to six fighter jets had been involved in the mission.
The fighter aircraft departed from an air base in southern China and were refueled twice by Ilyushin-78 aerial refueling tankers. The Global Times described the operation as "technically and mentally" challenging for the pilots, noting that they had "consumed rations to keep their energy levels up."
The mission came at a time of heightened tensions between the United States and China over the maritime disputes in the South China Sea. Over the past few months, both countries have increased the tempo of naval exercises and air patrols in the South China Sea. On July 13, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo declared China’s jurisdictional claims in the South China Sea to be unlawful and accused Beijing of bullying the Southeast Asian claimants.
While the video was designed to demonstrate China’s growing power projection capabilities, one expert noted that it may have inadvertently revealed the PLAAF’s weaknesses. The Flankers were either lightly armed or unarmed, and the use of two Il-78s would have consumed two-thirds of the air force’s heavy tanker fleet. It suggests that in a conflict over the South China Sea the PLAAF would not be able to send large numbers of aircraft into the battle space and sustain them. 3 refueling tankers is your entire fleet? Yah, long range fighter power projection is definitely not something China can do then.
While the Global Times would only say that the fighter jets had been dispatched to the "most remote islands and reefs" in the South China Sea, the video clearly showed the aircraft flying over Subi Reef in the Spratly Islands.
Subi Reef is one of China’s seven artificial islands in the Spratlys and hosts a 3,300 meter-long runway. Fiery Cross Reef and Mischief Reef also support long runways.
The mission begs an important question: Why didn’t the SU-30s land and refuel on Subi Reef? Surely one of the main purposes of the artificial islands is to enable China to project air power into the South China Sea to assert its territorial and jurisdictional claims, including the possibility of establishing an Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) over the Spratlys? Details at link. As Stephen Green stated on this article, "China either doesn't want to or can't do this. And I they really want to."

...For me, this is an utterly fascinating point. The PLAAF has a grand total of ten, count 'em, TEN tankers, period full stop. They have three of the big IL-76 tankers, and seven more H-6s (updated Tu-16 BADGERS, rough contemporaries of our B-47, which went out of service in the early 60s). To put that in perspective, the USAF has twelve tankers per squadron...and we've got twenty-six squadrons in service as of now.
Does this mean the Chinese can't carry out big, long-ranged aerial ops? Not exactly, but it severely limits where they can go and what they can do. On the other hand, given the way they run their mouths...one must wonder what they're thinking.
And why.

You bet your ass they are. Along with AWACs ships. And guess what we have that is perfect for that?
Won't be that way for much longer. COMAC makes the C919 (B-737 equiv), the C929 (B-787) is near completion and the C939 (B-777) is on the drawing board.

Built on a reef? That seems easy to crater to the point of destruction. Quickly and permanently. If push comes to shove these are nothing but easy targets.

Long, lurid, Ay Pee is bathing in it, and I’m concerned because the rest of the world is not cynical about such reports. Herewith a taste:
[Rudaw] US Navy intelligence specialist Colleen Grace was asleep on a remote air base in Iraq in 2019 when she was woken up by knocking on the door next to her room, and then a voice she recognized.
The voice belonged to a Navy corpsman she knew. He was upset and speaking loudly to the Army colonel who lived next door. Grace heard the corpsman say that a sailor who attended a Fourth of July barbecue had just been raped by a member of the Navy SEAL platoon on the base. The corpsman asked the colonel what to do because the victim was afraid that if she reported the incident, retribution would follow.
"And that’s real," Grace heard Hospitalman First Class Gustavo Llerenes tell Col. Thomas Collins, a physician’s assistant with the Florida National Guard. "It’s a good ol’ boy’s network."

Real hot shots don't think the rules apply...because they've been given breaks before.
That said, I have a (late) relation who was on track to be screwed over by Army JAG to protect higher, until exculpatory evidence was extracted from the prosecution.
And the Haditha Marines were screwed over on account of a bogus article in Time magazine.
Higher will throw Joe under the bus to stay on good terms with the NYT editorial page.
So, while my first reaction to the story was anger, my continuing feeling is caution.

[FOXNEWS] The man accused of assaulting a conservative activist at the University of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Berkeley last year in a case that garnered national headlines has been charged with stabbing a man riding a bicycle on a sidewalk over the weekend, Fox News has learned.
The new charges against Zachary Greenberg come as he continues to fight charges in the Berkeley case in an Alameda County court.
San Mateo deputies said Greenberg, 30, of El Cerrito, stabbed a bicyclist numerous times with a 4-inch pocket folding knife in Princeton-by-the-Sea Sunday.
"The victim reported that a male subject got into a physical altercation with him over an argument related to him riding his bicycle on the sidewalk," Sgt. James Goulart said in a news release.
The victim went to the hospital, where he was listed in stable, pH balanced condition.
Minutes after the stabbing deputies stopped a vehicle with Greenberg in the passenger seat and arrested him on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
"The identity of the suspect and the vehicle were confirmed by witnesses on scene," Goulart said. "The knife that was used in the assault was located."
Greenberg told deputies his last name was spelled Greenburg.

[PRESSCALIFORNIA] As the state of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, prepares to send mail-in ballots to more than 20 million registered voters ahead of the general election, concerned citizens have raised questions about the role of hired experts with ties to partisan Democratic groups. One South Bay voter expressed her concern this week on KSCO’s Charles Freedman Show after she received a letter from the Democracy Fund with details about her mail-in ballot.
The Democracy Fund, hired by Secretary of State Alex Padilla in May to oversee the mail-in ballot program in California until January 15, 2021, purports to be a non-partisan organization. In California, the state’s top election monitors for the general election includes Jennifer Morrell, president of the Democracy Fund since 2018, and Noah Praetz, the former director of elections in Cook County, Illinois, which has a reputation of voter fraud going back decades.

[PAGESIX] An angry federal judge sentenced Lori Loughlin to two months jail Friday — scolding the former "Full House" TV star for living a "fairy tale life" yet greedily grabbing "even more," by conspiring to pay a half-million-dollar bribe to get her daughters into the University of Southern Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, as fake rowing recruits.
"Here you are, an admired, successful professional actor with a long-lasting marriage," Boston federal Distict Judge Nathaniel Groton scolded in a virtual, Zoom sentencing that was part tongue-lashing, part wrist slap.
Loughlin enjoys "two apparently healthy, resilient children, more money than you could possibly need, a beautiful home in sunny, southern California," said Groton, who earlier Friday had sentenced the actress’s designer husband, Mossimo Giunnulli to five months for the same conspiracy.
"A fairytale life," the judge noted.
"Yet you stand before me a convicted felon. And for what? For the inexplicable desire to grab even more," he said.
"We can only hope that you will spent the rest of your charmed life, as you have said you will, making amends to the system you have harmed," he told Loughlin.
[FOXNEWS] Portland police have arrested the 25-year-old man accused of viciously attacking a truck driver who was seen on video being violent mostly peacefully beaten, jail records show.
Marquise Lee Love turned himself in and was booked in the Multnomah County Detention Center on Friday shortly after 8:30 a.m. local time, according to jail records. He was charged with assault, coercion and rioting, all three of which are felonies, records show.
Police later confirmed the arrest in a news release shared on Twitter.
"I am pleased the suspect in this case turned himself in and appreciate all of the efforts to facilitate this safe resolution," said PPB Chief Chuck Lovell. "Thank you to all of the members of the public who have provided information and tips to our Sherlocks. Your assistance is very much appreciated."
Love, who also goes by the name "Keese Love," appears to have been captured on video repeatedly punching and kicking a man who was later identified in reports as being Adam Haner.
In a recent interview with local affiliate FOX 12 Oregon, Haner said after crashing his car, someone was "yanking" him out of his truck "before I even got my door open."
"I was just standing for myself as a citizen," he told the station, "and if you can’t do that on a street, then what can you do?"
Haner was seen on video revving the engine of his truck and slowly rolling the vehicle forward until he speeds away -- all while people from the group can be seen running up to the vehicle, kicking and shouting at it. Just moments before he drove off, someone from the crowd was seen punching and jumping his girlfriend, who was identified in reports as Tammie Martin.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a 911 call from someone who reported that protesters "chased a white Ford" 4x4 truck, which then crashed in the downtown area, according to a department blurb. A caller told police an estimated nine to 10 people began "beating the guy," the caller stated.
"Investigators learned that the victim may have been trying to help a transgender female who had some of her things stolen in the area ... where this incident began," police said late Monday.
Haner, who was still unconscious when police arrived, was taken to a local hospital and was later released. He is now home recovering.
It's not clear if police are seeking any additional suspects in connection with the attack, but on Wednesday, Portland Police Bureau Captain Tina Jones told Fox News, "We are investigating any criminal acts in relation to this incident."
Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call Detective Brent Christensen at 503-823-2087 or email him at Brent.Christensen@portlandoregon.gov.
[KhaamaPress] According to reports from the Northern Badakhshan province, dozens of female students in this province were not given permission by the Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... to attend the university entrance test.
Local officials in Badakshan said that around 180 girls who have been graduated from school and intended to travel to another district for the university entrance test, the Taliban who controls the route did not permit them to join the exam.
Kambiz Qurbani, governor of Darwaz district appeared in a gathering where hundreds of female students and the elders from Maimai area of Darwaz came together to raise their voice against the Taliban not permitting girls to attend university entrance test.
"Due to Taliban threats and insecurity in the way to Shukai passing from Nusai where is controlled by the Taliban, dozens of female students are going to be deprived from higher education," Kambiz Qurbani said.
"We request from the central government and President Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money... to pay attention either in establishing an examination center in the Maimai area of Darwaz or to facilitate some helicopters for the female students to be transported from Maimai to Shukai for the entrance test," Kambiz added.
This comes as the Taliban and an Afghan delegation are expected to meet soon in Doha to negotiate a power-sharing dealing and facilitating a national reconciliation in order to put an end to the prolonged war between the Afghan government and the Taliban group.
During the governance of Taliban, girls were not allowed to work or study outside their homes.
The Taliban has prevented 200 girls in Mah-e-May and Nusay districts of Badakhshan from taking university entrance exams by threatening to charge them fines, according to the local officials in the province.
The Taliban have so far not made a comment about the claims.
Local officials in the area have said that the Taliban threatened to charge Afs40,000 to any female student trying to take the exam.
Provincial officials have said that efforts are underway to ensure the entry of these girls for the exam.
“We have been deprived of the exam process, we hope that the honorable president helps us,” said a resident of Badakhshan.
“They (the Taliban) deprived us and have warned they would impose fines on the girls if they participated in the exam, each girl has to pay a 40,000 afghani fine if they appeared in the exam,” said a resident of Badakhshan.
“Everyone has the right to learn whether they are a girl or a boy, this is the fundamental right of Afghan citizens,” said Kambiz, district governor of Darwaz of Badakshan.
“The girls who have been prevented from taking the exam will go to Shighnan district on Sunday and will appear for the exam there,” said Sanaullah Rouhani, a spokesman for the Badakhshan police.
Girls' education is one of the major achievements that Afghanistan gained in the post-Taliban era. The Afghan government has constantly said that it will not compromise on the girls’ education in any peace talks with the Taliban.

The aide walked over to Carper’s desk and helped him work his livestream.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Lebanese security apparatus is allegedly concerned over reports of Ottoman Turkish arms shipments to the country, al-Arabiya reported on Wednesday.
According to the publication, three diplomats said they are ’hearing’ about Ottoman Turkish-backed arms movements in certain parts of Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... Citing an intelligence official, the Lebanese Army recently monitored an alleged distribution of arms in the northern part of the country.
"We are pretty worried about what’s going on. The Turks are sending an incredible amount of weapons into the north," the intelligence source said.
Meanwhile, ...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's gun out of his hand...... another official said that they are maintaining contact with the U.S. about ths supply of arms that are flowing into the country.
"We are keeping an eye on it and staying in contact with the United States administration," the diplomat said.
The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund... has yet to comment on these allegations from al-Arabiya.

They’re getting productively busy over there. Congratulations, guys!
[Rudaw] Kurdish counter-terror forces captured an Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) sleeper cell in Erbil on Thursday, the global Coalition tweeted on Friday.
"Acting on a warrant, on Aug. 20, elite Kurdish Counter-Terrorism Director troops captured ISIS sleeper cell gunnies in Erbil," tweeted Coalition spokesperson Col. Myles B. Caggins.
One "ISIS terrorist" was captured in the raid, Caggins explained to Rudaw TV on Friday night. "And this terrorist wasn't a normal ISIS terrorist... This man was responsible for coordinating the movement of ISIS terrorists' money and weapons through the Kurdistan Region."
"I do not want to get into too many details because we are still using the intelligence to develop additional raids. But this terrorist was caught around the city of Erbil and it shows you that some ISIS will try to hide in an urban area to plan and facilitate terrorism because they think they are safe," said Caggins.
The Coalition’s special operations worked with the Kurdish forces in the raid.
"The sleeper cell that was caught in Erbil was talking to other ISIS managers — ISIS mid-level leaders — and arranging for fighters to move through Kurdistan into other regions in Iraq and Syria. This involves moving money, talking to safe houses and giving those fighters instructions," Caggins detailed.
He called the operation a "great success," but said the name of the man arrested would not be released as that is sensitive information.
The Kurdish forces have not immediately commented on the operation.
This is the second such operation reported within the Kurdistan Region this month. Sulaimani province's security forces (Asayesh) arrested six ISIS suspects in two raids in and around the town of Chamchammal on August 4 and 5.
Iraqi counter-terror forces (ICTS) also busted an ISIS sleeper cell in northern Saladin province, arresting eight people "who were planning to attack military units stationed in Sharqat district," the force tweeted.
Two other ISIS suspects were detained by ICTS forces south of djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... . "This brings the number of the arrested gunnies to ten in the last 24 hours," read the tweet.

[Chicago Tribune] The Chicago Police Department has effectively banned protesters from demonstrating on Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s block in the Logan Square neighborhood, ordering officers to arrest anyone who refuses to leave, the Tribune has learned.
The directive surfaced in a July email from then-Shakespeare District Commander Melvin Roman to officers under his command. It did not distinguish between the peaceful protesters Lightfoot regularly says she supports and those who might intend to be destructive, but ordered that after a warning is given to demonstrators, "It should be locked down."
Citing threats, Mayor Lori Lightfoot defends ban on protesters on her block: ’I have a right to make sure that my home is secure’ »
Since the order, and even for a time just prior to its writing, Chicago cops have repeatedly blocked protesters’ access to the block with groups of officers and barricades. Police have often kept protesters contained at the nearby corner of Kimball and Wrightwood avenues, though one standoff between activists and officers last month saw police go as far as bringing in an armored vehicle in case things got out of hand.
Some neighbors in the Logan Square area have complained about the city’s approach to protests around Lightfoot’s house, which at times has included checking residents’ IDs before letting them close. Ron Kaminecki, a 69-year old patent attorney and bike shop owner who lives on Bernard Street a few houses from Lightfoot, said some neighbors have been frustrated by the police presence and barricades.
"I came up with the name ’Fort Lori’ because it’s so hard to get in and out," Kaminecki said.

One has to wonder about the Unit Commander and PLatoon Leader who are hand receipt holders for this property, writ large, and how long before the property book Warrant Officer at the storage site asks where the paperwork is for the missing vehicle. Certainly, somebody had to haved asked, "...ummm, that AVLB, we got a delivery date from the shipper? " About now, as this made the news, a number of DoD and NGB reference checks, and the Office of the Adjutant General has asked some rather pointed questions. Careers and stripes are being taken even as we speak...

In last month's ruling, judge ordered a trial to determine whether the 27-year-old should be executed for the attack that killed three and wounded 260 people
Barr said: 'We will do whatever's necessary. We will take it to the Supereme Court and we will continue to pursue the death penalty
Under Barr, the Justice Department has again begun carrying out federal executions, putting three men to death so far
It has scheduled at least three more executions next week and in September

[Ek Knives website] John Ek wanted to contribute to the American war effort during World War II. From his shop in Hamden, Connecticut, Ek built custom knives specifically for soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines. He even built a knife for the Commander-in-Chief, American President Franklin Roosevelt.
Mr. Ek, who also employed disabled Americans, produced six models of knives beginning in 1941. He referred to these knives as "Ek Commando Knives" as they were purpose built for close quarter use that would become a hallmark of the US Marine Raiders, US Army Rangers, First Special Service Force, and Office of Strategic Services’ Operational Groups.
To purchase an Ek Commando Knife one had to send in proof of military service. The knives were numbered and a log was kept to tie the number to the owner.
Americans have carried Ek Commando Knives in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and countless other locations in between. John Ek’s knives live on today through Ek Commando Knife as a testament to his ideas, skills, and unflinching patriotism.

My favorite three paragraphs:
[FrontPage] The theme of the DNC convention that pretended to nominate Biden and the speech in which he pretended to accept is that Democrats are a unifying force and that their political opponents are the forces of darkness. That’s not an election speech. It’s an argument for a one party state.
The Democrats want to pretend that they’re responsible leaders because they keep saying that they’re good people who care about specific categories of oppressed people and global problems. But that’s a leftist fallacy. Talking about how much you care about problems doesn’t mean you have any aptitude for solving them by working together with everyone else.
The true message of the DNC convention, spoken and unspoken, is that it represents a cultural class that is entitled to absolute political power, because it is morally superior to everyone else. The facade of religion and of fake former Republicans was as real as the "democratic" process leading to a rigged nomination and a fake convention of videos recorded weeks if not months ago. Behind that facade is a small class of wealthy coastal donors pulling all the strings.

This Dem cast of characters isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for truth, honesty and morality. Would you entrust them with anything?
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Black Lives Matter activists have a message for Portland’s residential neighborhoods: “Y’all never gonna sleep.”
The Oregonians who made headlines for months by causing chaos outside the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse and the city’s Justice Center gathered Thursday night to deny homeowners some shuteye.
“Thank you allies but still f– your white feelings,” she said, which elicited a smattering of applause. “We can still be friends but your job isn’t to really speak. Your job is to protect me and tell other people why you need to protect other Black lives.”
Footage of a march past the Portland Police Association building and through neighborhoods spread on social media.
“Wake up! Wake up motherf–er wake up! … Y’all never gonna sleep ‘cause of me,” dozens of activists chanted in footage capture by Twitter user Brendan Gutenschwager’s “BG On the Scene” coverage.
Horns blared and drums were pounded as the group was led by individuals with a megaphone.
“I’m sure all of the people living in these homes appreciated this, especially the ones with sleeping children,” responded John Sexton of the conservative website Hotair. “But as tempted as I am to feel sorry for these homeowners, I wonder how many of them support these nightly disturbances and how many voted for the pro-BLM, pro-Antifa mayor. Kind of hard to complain about this now.”
The group eventually paused its neighborhood heckling to encourage everyone to vote for Joseph R. Biden’s presidential campaign this November. "Encourage" = threaten
“I know Joe Biden f–ing sucks, but vote for him, please, please, please,” a woman with a megaphone said.
The organizer eventually concluded by admonishing white participants.
“Thank you allies but still f– your white feelings,” she said, which elicited a smattering of applause. “We can still be friends but your job isn’t to really speak. Your job is to protect me and tell other people why you need to protect other Black lives.”

[THEBAGHDADPOST] Angry protesters in Iraqi city of Basra set fire to the parliament's office on Friday evening, reports said.
The Iraqi security forces reported clashed with the anti-government protesters who have taken to the streets in response to the killing of several civil society activists.
At least two activists have been assassinated in Basra in less than two weeks while several others managed to survive similar attacks.
The demonstrators on Friday set fire to the outer gate of the entrance to the parliament building in Basra, the area that produces the lion’s share of the crude exporting the country’s oil.

[NYPOST] Norman Seabrook, the former head of the city jails union, must surrender to prison in December after being convicted of steering union funds to a shoddy investment firm in exchange for bribes.Lawyers for Seabrook had requested that he be given until December to surrender because of the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... pandemic that has ravaged some federal prison facilities.
"In a time when inmates are being released from [Bureau of Prisons] facilities in light of COVID-19, it makes little sense to require a non-violent mostly peaceful defendant to surrender to such a facility," his lawyers wrote in a filing.
On Friday, a Manhattan federal judge responded to the request by ordering Seabrook to surrender to Otisville prison Dec. 29.
Earlier this month, Seabrook lost his appeal to get his conviction tossed, in part because a three-judge panel ruled he’d knowingly made a risky union investment to line his pockets.
"The record contained evidence that Seabrook hid from the [Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association] board communications from its counsel discussing the specific risk of losing the investment," Judge Rosemary Pooler wrote in her opinion for the three judges who shot down Seabrook’s appeal.

Libya's GNA Military Spokesman Announces Determination to Continue Military Operations
[LIBYAREVIEW] The front man of the Government of National Accord (GNA) forces, Colonel Pilot Mohammad Qanunu, announced that they would continue their military operations, until the liberation of all cities nationwide, thus disregarding the ceasefire agreement announced by Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj.
In a tweet on his Twitter official account, Qanunu said, "We will never trust the announcement of a new ceasefire or truce, as we have seen many previous violations and breaches."
The front man affirmed, "We are determined to continue military operations in order to legitimately defend ourselves, attack hotbeds of threat, and end the deployment of outlawed groups in the country."
He stressed that they will continue to liberate all captured cities, address the injustice suffered by their residents, and re-establish the state authority.
The front man added: "The Libyan state — exclusively — has the right to make use of its resources, manage its wealth, export oil, and take a hard line against those who seek to starve the Libyan people, and plunder its natural resources."
He noted that the government’s role is to harness the capabilities to end the brutal aggression, secure hospitals, schools and airports, and provide a safe environment to confront the COVID-19 pandemic.

[THEFEDERALIST] Fordham University is under investigation from the U.S. Department of Education for allegedly violating a student’s free speech after administrators called the cops on him for Instagram posts. On his personal account, Austin Tong posted pictures with a legally obtained gun and criticized China’s handling of the Tiananmen Square massacre. Tong also posted about the death of St. Louis Police Captain David Dorn, who died trying to stop rioters from looting a friend’s pawn shop.
While the school’s website suggests that students enrolled at the university will have "the freedom of inquiry required by rigorous thinking and the quest for truth," its reaction to Tong’s posts shows otherwise. Fordham officials reportedly considered the social media posts "grotesque" and "racist," and sent "two uniformed public safety officers" to the Tong family home in Long Island, New York to "discuss the Instagram posts" and evaluate whether Tong "presented a danger to himself and others," according to the U.S. DOE investigation.
After the visit, the university called Tong "a security threat," despite the fact that officers "very quickly determined Mr. Tong posed no such threat" and that his weapon had been legally obtained. The university, however, shifted its focus to targeting Tong for "several posts on social media related to the current racial issues in the country and political issues in China."
[Rudaw] A Ottoman Turkish military vehicle hit a roadside kaboom in Kurdistan Region’s Sidakan area on Friday while on patrol, with unconfirmed casualties, according to a senior Peshmerga commander. Media close to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) claims the group was responsible, carrying out an attack and killing several soldiers.
A senior Peshmerga commander in the area, speaking on condition of anonymity ... for fear of being murdered... , told Rudaw English that a Ottoman Turkish military vehicle hit an bomb in Shapana village in northern Erbil province, but he was not personally in the area so "cannot confirm casualties."
An off-duty Peshmerga fighter, Nazwad Rasheed, lives in the area and was riding his cycle of violence around the time the earth-shattering kaboom occurred. He was shot at by Ottoman Turkish forces, causing him to wipe out and injure his hand and back, Ihsan Chalabi, mayor of Sidakan told Rudaw English. He was taken to hospital, and has since been discharged.
The Ottoman Turkish forces "may have mistaken him for a PKK fighter," said the Peshmerga commander.
Media affiliated with the PKK reported the group attacked the Ottoman Turkish military vehicle and killed several soldiers. Roj News put the number of casualties at 10 while ANF said six were killed.
Roj News also reported three Ottoman Turkish helicopters arrived at the scene to pick up their soldiers.
The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor... has not commented on the incident but its defense ministry said in a statement at midday that they bombed PKK positions in the Kurdistan Region and "neutralized" five fighters. Ankara uses the word neutralized to refer to those killed, surrendered, or otherwise removed from the battlefield.
Payam TV, television channel and mouthpiece of the Kurdistan Islamic Group, published a video purportedly showing Ottoman Turkish helicopters flying over the area and picking up their dead and injured.
Turkey launched air and ground operations against alleged PKK bases within the Kurdistan Region and disputed territories in mid-June. At least eight civilians have been killed during the operations. The latest person killed was a 60-year-old teacher, Khalid Abdulrahman, who was gathering his livestock from a village that came under a Ottoman Turkish attack in Duhok province’s Kani Masi area on Wednesday.
Turkey has pursued the PKK in the Kurdistan Region for decades, but its campaign this summer is pushing into populated areas and kilometers away from major urban centres.
Dlsher Abdulsattar, mayor of Batifa subdistrict in Duhok province, told Rudaw on Friday, "Ottoman Turkish forces blew up three civilian houses this morning in Banke Bne village." This was part of a two-day ground operation in the area, he added. "After this, they ended their operation and returned to their military bases on a nearby mountain."
Residents of the village had already left their homes so no one was hurt, but the Ottoman Turkish forces caused a lot of material damage, said the mayor.
Tens of villages have been vacated in Duhok province since Turkey launched its offensive.
[Jpost] The IDF struck Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, targets in Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... in retaliation for a rocket launched toward Sderot late on Friday night, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said.
"IDF tanks struck military posts of the terrorist organization Hamas in the southern Gaza Strip," the IDF said in a statement.
"The strike was carried out in retaliation for the rocket launch from the territory of the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory overnight."
Rocket alert sirens sounded on Friday evening in the town of Sderot and neighboring communities in southern Israel, after a projectile was launched from Gaza. The IDF later announced that the Iron Dome intercepted one projectile that was launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory.
Tensions between Israel and Gaza have escalated in recent weeks and have seen increased launches of rockets and incendiary balloons. On Friday, incendiary balloons sparked 22 fires in Israel.

[ToloNews] Dozens of families have left their homes in Shakar Dara and Guldara districts north of Kabul over the last few weeks following a dramatic surge in security threats and amid intensifying Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... activities, the displaced residents said.
A large-scale operation by government forces earlier this week pushed back the Taliban from Shakar Dara district, 25 kilometers north of Kabul city, according to Defense Ministry, but locals said many families are yet to return home over fears of resurging insecurity.
Clashes in Guldara, which is 45 kilometers north of the Afghan capital, were reported days after the government announced that Shakar Dara was cleared of the Taliban.
Residents said the security agencies "have failed" to ensure the safety of the residents of two Kabul districts that have been secure over the last 18 years.
The residents warned that Kabul will be under severe security threat if the security situation remains fragile in the two districts.
According to Guldara residents, at least 150 families have so far left their homes following persistent warnings by the Taliban.
"There is no peace in this area. The Taliban starts firing at nights. No one is there to ask. There is no accountability. There is no government. People would not have left their homes if there was a government," said Zemarai, a Guldara resident.
"The Taliban raised their flag on the mountain two days after the fighting, then everyone who were associated to police, army, or the NDS (National Directorate of Security ...the Afghan national intel agency... ) and education sector, were pushed to leave their homes," said Mohammad Hassan, a Shakar Dara resident.
Some other residents in Guldara warned to take up arms against the Taliban if the government fails to take action.
"If not now, the fighting will erupt in the next spring," said Qasim, a Guldara resident.
The Ministry of Defense vowed to clear these areas of krazed killers.
"In order to improve security in north of Kabul and other districts, there is a plan and a regular security program that will be implemented in the near future," the Defense Ministry front man Rohullah Ahmadzai said.
[FOXNEWS] As devastating wildfires tear through the Santa Cruz Mountains, officials reported Thursday afternoon that historic structures at Big Basin Redwoods State Park had burned to the ground.
On Wednesday evening, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, State Parks released a statement noting that the 18,000-acre park "sustained extensive damage" but did not elaborate further.
The park itself is closed indefinitely while the CZU August Lightning Complex -- a group of fires ignited by lightning earlier this week -- continues to blaze.
On Thursday, Santa Cruz District Superintendent for State Parks Chris Spohrer confirmed that park rangers had only been able to briefly access the park’s central area and that the park's historic headquarters, lodge, ranger office, nature museum, store, maintenance shop and multiple park residences and campground restrooms were destroyed.
"From what they described, it was a high-heat, high-intensity fire," Spohrer told The Mercury News. "A lot of the canopy, they noted, had been burned. But it is too early to tell what the long-term damage is going to be to those trees."
All campers, rangers and visitors had been safely evacuated ahead of the flames, along with the surrounding communities.

My youngest is working in Healdsburg, Sonoma Area , and was just ordered evacuated.
Structures can be replaced. Redwoods and Sequoias spread seeds via fire heat release. The problem is no logging of deadwood and undergrowth, and Trump rightly called it out. 8 or so years ago beetles hit Tahoe hard with large areas of dead trees and no willingness to remove ("NO Logging!"). It caused enough of a fire danger to pushback.

Im not in favor of Russia annexing Turkey, but honestly it couldn't happen to a better bunch of a-holes than the Turks. Cut the Kurds loose in SE Turkey would be all they need to do to destabilize the entire region, and after the US has screwed the Kurds over so many times, I bet they'd play ball with the Russians, giving the Russians instant leverage in Syria, Iraq and Iran as well as all the mineral and oil areas in SE Turkey.
Putin plays chess, doesn't he?

Putie is a bit short in the cash department, and with a world awash in fossil fuels for the moment, some of that will be hard to do. But, Imagine SloJoe or the MatressWiggler facing Putie eyeball to eyeball?

Trust me on that one. I lived there for thirteen years, and was it not for the fact that my son and grandson live there still, I would happily raze it to the ground and sow the long-suffering Earth with salt.

Right now I am thinking of Democrat Mayor Richard J. Daley 1968 Order regarding Arsonists and Rioters.
"to shoot to kill any arsonist or anyone with a Molotov cocktail in his hand . . . and . . . to shoot to maim or cripple anyone looting any stores in our city."
But he was a old school Law and Order Pro-America Democrat. Because as we have seen now the New LSD party is in the crowd demanding defund the police, looting, destroy and tossing fire bombs.

Plausibility Quotient High .....Food for Thought
A very well-orchestrated plan, or an unimaginable set of events that just fell into place ... with the United States front and center. You tell me!!
Scare people with a virus, force them to wear masks and place them in quarantine.
Count the number of dead every second of every day, in every News Headline. By the way, ninety-nine and eight-tenths of the people who get the virus, recover. About one to two tenths of one percent who get the virus, die. Most all of them have other medical problems. Did you catch that ? Less than 1/2 of a percent die.
Close businesses = 35,000,000+ instantly unemployed.
Remove entertainment and prohibit Recreation; Closing parks, gyms, bars, restaurants, sports.
No dating. No touching. Isolate people. Dehumanize them.
Close Temples and Churches, prohibit worship. Create a vacuum and let depression, anxiety, hopelessness and desperation set in.
Then... ignite hatred and civil unrest, creating Civil War.
Empty the prisons because of the virus and fill the streets with criminals.
Send in Antifa to vandalize property, as if they are freedom fighters. Undermine the law, Riot, Loot and Attack all Law Enforcement, but tell government to order a stand-down.
Then... Defund Law Enforcement and abolish Police. We are all being played by those who want to destroy America! This is how you destroy a Nation from within, and in very short order. Will it work, I guess that depends on you and me.

ninety-nine and eight-tenths of the people who get the virus, recover
To date 179,000 US deaths from 5.8 million US cases, so to a first approximation just under 97% of the people who get it recover, or at least don't die of it. 3% do die of it.

If your going to release them, first give them ride on the rails. Ship them in boxcars to central or eastern Oregon, then release. They can walk back. They hate Western Civ, see how well they make it without it.

It's a liberal bastion which means the budgets were looted a long time ago. The jails probably can't even afford baloney and white bread for prisoners.
