Goodyear Goes SJW, Folds The Next Day
[ZeroHedge] As we detailed earlier, a slide that purports to be from Goodyear's diversity training has leaked and appears to show that the company considers "Blue Lives Matter," "All Lives Matter" and "MAGA" attire "unacceptable," while at the same time encouraging "Black Lives Matter" and "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride (LGBT)" attire.

The differences are shown under a slide that appears to be outlining a zero tolerance policy. Aptly named, if we say so ourselves.

As The Gateway Pundit put it, the slide appears to be "zero tolerance" against support for police or conservative values. Which, of course, flies in the face of actually engaging in the values of tolerance and equality.

The employee who took the photo of the slide claimed that it was "presented at a Topeka plant by an area manager and says it came from their corporate office out of Akron, Ohio," according to a report from WIBW.
Just out before lunchtime (and a ton of negative feedback):
Update (1150ET): Well, that didn't take long. Goodyear has quickly issued a press release backing away from the 'diversity' training's liberal bias.

They say this was "not created or distributed by Goodyear corporate" and that it wasn't part of a diversity training class.

So who did create and distribute it?

What is the relation of that entity with corporate?

Was this done with knowledge/acquiesence/approval of corporate?

If it wasn't part of "diversity training", then what training was it a part of?

Or was this a policy guidance for management, which would make it even worse?

#18  WTF do all these corporate clowns think they're gaining by getting woke?

They are gaining each other’s approval by reflecting common views within the group. It’s a class reinforcement thing, having nothing to do with the world outside the executive floor of the home office. The junior executives and middle managers absorb it through their skin... or keep quiet.

He'd leave his trailers there, and they'd call when there was a load and the paperwork was ready. Took one load tp Nuevo Leon, and in unloading found two very heavy containers. Turned out he had a couple of AMRAMM's.
So he called the guy at the outlet desk and told him, and he freaked. It was gonna be an intl incident, and yadda.
Manuel said, how 'bout I just bring them back?
So this MSGT met him in Nuevo Laredo with (forged) import paperwork, and they hauled them back to SA.
Manuel did lose his concession to haul off packing stuff, though...

Texas will punish cities and towns that defund their police by BANNING them from raising property taxes after state officials say Austin 'bowed to cancel culture' when it voted to slash $150M from their cops

Science & Technology
60 Percent of Police Drones Are Chinese Made
[Free Beacon] Chinese manufacturers produced more than three in five drones used by local and state law enforcement, potentially exposing sensitive geographic and personal data to the Chinese government.

Chinese tech companies have sold or gifted drones to more than 970 law enforcement and first responder agencies across the country, presenting a massive national security risk, according to a new report by John Venable and Lora Ries, senior research fellows at the conservative Heritage Foundation. The authors of the report warn that the Chinese government can compel these companies to cough up sensitive data collected in the United States. The technology could help Beijing identify vulnerabilities in U.S. critical infrastructure and track down the location of American civic leaders.

"There is no separation between Chinese firms and the government," Venable told the Washington Free Beacon. "When any one of these Chinese drone manufacturers take data back into their system ... once it's back there, the government has direct access to it and they can get anything they want from the company."

The report comes amid heightened scrutiny of Chinese tech companies operating in the United States. On Monday, the Trump administration imposed additional restrictions on Huawei, a telecommunications giant accused of spying on behalf of Beijing—and banned suppliers from providing U.S.-made chips to the company. The White House also required Chinese company ByteDance to sell TikTok, a popular social media platform, to a U.S. company to prevent the Chinese government from accessing user data.

Drone use in the United States has increased exponentially in the last five years. This is especially the case for law enforcement officials and first responders who use drones' bird's-eye view to track down criminals or scout out forest fires. DJI, a Chinese company founded in 2006, has reaped the greatest benefit from this increase in demand, cornering 77 percent of the U.S. drone market. That success was fueled by regime subsidies that allowed DJI to undersell competitors, according to the report's authors.

The company continues to aggressively expand its market share, gifting 100 drones to nearly 50 agencies across the country in April, ostensibly to help local governments deal with the pandemic. DJI has also cooperated with the Chinese police state, however, providing drones to a Xinjiang government agency to monitor prisoners in a concentration camp for Muslim Uighurs.

The report found that DJI's phone applications present a national security risk for government users. According to two separate analyses cited by the report, the apps can access drone footage and images as well as data pertaining to the user's political and religious affiliation. Furthermore, the apps' terms of conditions allow the developers to share the information with the Chinese government, granting access to hundreds of hours of video footage from the United States to Beijing.

#2  DJI has features that other manufacturers don't, which has more to do with their success than underselling.

Now, they're also accused of violating patents, but...

The whining that the app -- which is how you pilot their drones! -- can access the drone camera makes as much sense as whining that your phone's camera app can access the phone's cameras.

Substantive Elements of The Big Story Behind The Mueller Special Counsel Purpose…
This post from a comment provided today by our own Cingold.
[The Last Refuge] Foolishness and betrayal of our country have served to reveal dangers within our present condition. Misplaced corrective action, regardless of intent, is neither safe nor wise. The intelligence apparatus was weaponized against a candidate by those who controlled the levers of government. This is what AG Bill Barr needs to explain to the nation.

The purpose behind briefing Durham’s lead investigator William Aldenberg was essentially to provide an understanding of what we the people already know. The purpose behind releasing the investigator name is to cut through the chaff and countermeasures and give face to the unit holding the precarious responsibility of sunlight.

The position of Bill Barr, and indeed our nation today, is a direct result of decisions made by Main Justice -as run by the special counsel- in the Fall of 2017 & Summer of 2018.

The events surrounding the leaking of the FISA warrant used against U.S. person Carter Page; the purposeful cover-up by Andrew Weissmann; and the downstream 2018 DOJ decision not to prosecute SSCI Security Director James Wolfe for those leaks, was the fork in the road moment for the Department of Justice — and the institutions of government as a whole.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions was recused. As admitted in his June 2nd testimony Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein was providing no special counsel oversight, and the Mueller team was essentially controlling all DOJ activity. That was when the DOJ made a decision not to prosecute Wolfe for leaking classified information. DC U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu signed-off on a plea deal where Wolfe plead guilty to only a single count of lying to the FBI.

If the DOJ had pursued the case against Wolfe for leaking the FISA application, everything would have been different. The American electorate would have seen evidence of what was taking place in the background effort to remove President Trump; and we would be in an entirely different place today if that prosecution or trial had taken place.

Three 2018 events revealed the Wolfe issue:

Black babies are more likely to survive when cared for by Black doctors, study finds
[USA Today] Black newborns are more likely to survive during childbirth when cared for by Black doctors, according to a new study.

In the United States, Black babies die at three times the rate of white newborns during their initial hospital stays, according to a peer-reviewed study published Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. But when Black doctors cared for Black babies, their mortality rate was cut in half.

While this data doesn't tell us exactly why this happens, a mix of structural issues could've contributed and "each are really disturbing," according to Brad Greenwood, study co-author and an associate professor of Information Systems & Operations Management Sciences at George Mason University said

"I don't think any of us would suggest as co-authors that these results are manifesting as a result of malicious bias on the part of physicians," Greenwood said. "I also think that underscores how insidious something like this is. Children are dying as a result of just structural problems."

Researchers analyzed 1.8 million hospital birth records in Florida between 1992 and 2015 and identified the race of the doctor. The study found the largest decrease in Black newborn mortality rate occurred in complex births and at hospitals that deliver more Black babies.

The race of the doctor caring for white babies did not make much difference to the likelihood of survival and there was no statistically significant improvement in maternal mortality — which is also higher for Black women —when mothers were the same race as their doctor.

'Going to the doctor is a fear':How doulas are helping one city lower its high rate of black infant deaths

The stark differences in infant mortality are not due to a biological difference, but rather likely due to the legacy of structural racism, according to study co-author Rachel Hardeman, a reproductive health equity researcher and associate professor at the University of Minnesota. She cited one theory that suggests Black women are less healthy and at greater risk for negative health outcomes during pregnancy because of the cumulative effects of racism and socioeconomic disadvantage over the course of their lives.

California Democrats Propose 'Wealth Tax' to Combat Massive Deficit
[PJ] The state government of California is in a $50 billion hole thanks to the coronavirus pandemic — and a few other spending measures like giving free medical benefits and "stimulus checks" to illegal aliens.

The state’s budget deficit is probably far steeper than it should be, all things considered. So Democrats will tax the rich to help make up the deficit.

The rich are perfectly capable of speaking for themselves and need no defense from any of us to help them ward off state-sponsored theft. But there is an important principle at stake that needs to be defended vigorously.

How much should the most successful among us be taxed? The idiotic notions that the rich got that way because of racism or because they "stood on the backs of the poor" are liberal political rhetoric and not serious debate points about the issue of wealth or taxes. And if the state is going to raise taxes on anyone, they are beholden to the people to find ways to cut government expenditures by an equal or greater amount.

California Democrats are not going to cut any of their pet programs to narrow the deficit, so they’re going to get cash from the most convenient source; the rich and successful.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Will the Dam Break After Clinesmith's Plea?
[Real Clear Politics] News reports have downplayed the significance of former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith’s guilty plea, acknowledging he altered an official document in the government’s Trump-Russia collusion probe. There has been some coverage, mainly because it is so rare to see FBI agents charged with a felony and because it is the first tangible result of U.S. Attorney John Durham’s sprawling investigation of the investigators. But mainstream news outlets have minimized its importance. It’s only one count, they say, and it deals with a relatively minor crime by a mid-level figure.

That’s spin, and it’s wrong. This plea is like finding water seeping from the base of a dam. The problem is not one muddy puddle. The problem is that it foreshadows the dam’s failure, releasing a torrent. That’s what the Clinesmith plea portends.

WHAT DID CLINESMITH ADMIT?
Clinesmith acknowledges he altered an email from the CIA to the FBI, answering a question about Carter Page. Page is an American citizen and a Naval Academy graduate who spent considerable time in Russia. His time abroad raised a question for the FBI’s counter-intelligence division. Was Page a Russian agent? Or was he on our side, helping the U.S. gather intelligence about the Kremlin? The CIA would know.

The answer mattered because the FBI and Department of Justice were preparing warrants to spy on Page as a hostile foreign agent. The CIA gave them a clear answer in August 2016, before the first warrant was issued: Page was working for us. That answer was given to a still-unnamed FBI case agent, and we don’t know what he did with it. Did he show it to those preparing the warrant applications? Why else would he even ask the CIA for the information?

In 2017, after Clinesmith was tasked to the Mueller investigation, their team asked him to clarify Page’s relationship with U.S. intelligence. That’s when he took the CIA document and added a single word, "not." The altered document said Carter Page was not a CIA asset. It was a deliberate lie.

Clinesmith is pleading guilty to inserting that word and changing the document. That’s a felony. What made his crime more significant is that the altered document was then presented to the secret court overseeing actions taken under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. The special counsel included it in the fourth FISA application to spy on Page.

#5  I'm not all that excited.
I have seen this Upper level CYA political process play out too many times.

What we maybe be seeing is the Deep State has found their needed and semi-willing scapegoat(s).

Now the Deep State owned media can go to work to hint and argue now that ______ was the root cause of everything that transpired and _____ hoodwinked the others up and in the chain.

As is usually the case.
Those that get outed, charged and convicted will have a long drawn out or short hidden media process depending on which side to political spectrum they are on. Resulting in either a quick plea to bury it with a light slap. Or a long drawn out trial that the public's short attention span will get bored of and switch channels in 3 to 5 days. Both accomplishing the same goal, the Deflection of public attention from the real persons until after the election.

At most we may see a few other low level flunkies, get dragged into the media mud to accomplish their deflective goals.

Worry not tho.
DC appointed Scapegoats that have taken the time to have well documented "protection", are often well rewarded.

However, IF the person actually poses a uncontrollable threat to upper levels ... well accidents do happen.

Pandemic bear market is over as stocks hit record highs
[Washington Examiner] Stock markets hit their first records since the pandemic began, erasing a historic plunge during February and March.

The S&P 500 closed about a tenth of a percentage point above its previous high of 3386.15 on Feb. 19, making the pandemic bear market the shortest in history.

The record highs for the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq come despite the millions of people who are out of work due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Many continue to wonder why stocks are at new highs with 10% unemployment and nearly a million people filing for initial unemployment claims. The truth is, economic data is backward-looking, and stocks are looking ahead to a much brighter future," said Ryan Detrick, chief investment strategist at LPL Financial, according to Market Watch.

Shares of tech companies, which have been able to capitalize in many cases on mass social distancing, led the broader market to regain losses over the past five months.

"Markets are seemingly encouraged by a nationwide improvement in coronavirus data after a spike in various parts of the country last month," Brian Price, head of investment management for Commonwealth Financial Network, told Yahoo. "Big Tech and certain consumer companies like Amazon continue to do well."

Price added that investors will have to remain "vigilant" in the coming months for another resurgence in coronavirus cases similar to what the United States experienced over the summer. Other risk factors that could affect the market’s recovery include failure to pass another relief bill and the upcoming elections.

terrorists.

He had visited an ISIS medical camp in Syria in early 2014 for treatment of ISIS hard boyz and stayed with Islamic State operatives for 10 days and returned to India, the NIA said. He was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the Islamic State Khorasan Province case.

During interrogation, arrested accused Abdur Rahman confessed that he was conspiring with accused Jahanzaib Sami and other Syria-based ISIS operatives on secure messaging platforms to further ISIS activities. He was in the process of developing a medical application for helping the injured ISIS cadres in the conflict-zones and a weaponry-related application for the benefit of ISIS fighters.

The case, it may be recalled was initially registered by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police in March 2020. The Delhi Police registered this case after arresting a Kashmiri couple Jahanzaib Sami Wani and his wife Hina Bashir Beigh from Okhla Vihar, Jamia Nagar in Delhi.

The couple was found to be having affiliations with ISKP, a banned terrorist outfit affiliated with the ISIS. The couple were found to be involved in subversive activities and were also in touch with Abdul Basith, who is now lodged in the Tihar jail in connection with another case being probed by the NIA.

The probe also led to the arrest of Sadiya Anwar Sheikh and Nabeel Siddique Khatri, both residents of Pune. They were allegedly part of the conspiracy to carry out subversive activities under the garb of protesting against the amended citizenship law.
More about Mr. Rehman and his arrest here.

The holy warrior has been identified as Usman, a foreigner and a commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), police officials said.

The three forces of Evil have been killed in the encounter that took place on Monday in the orchards area of Kreeri in Baramulla district of north Kashmir, they said.

Two Army jawans, who were maimed on Monday in the gun fight, have also succumbed to the injuries, they said.

The encounter began after the LeT forces of Evil carried out the attack on a naka party of the forces at Kreeri which left two CRPF jawans and a Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir policeman dead.

Immediately after the attack, the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. They chased the ultras and killed two of them including Sajad Haider -- a top commander of the LeT outfit in north Kashmir.

Incriminating materials including two AK rifles and three pistols were recovered from the site of the encounter, they said.

The police said Haider and Usman were both top commanders of the outfit and Usman was involved in the killing of BJP leader Bari and his father and brother in July this year.

German police arrest suspected Syrian militant near Berlin
[DW] Police in the German state of Brandenburg have arrested a Syrian man on terror allegations. He is suspected of having been a member of two Islamist rebel groups opposed to the Syrian regime.

German authorities on Tuesday arrested a Syrian national suspected of being a member of two turban groups in Syria that are considered as foreign terrorist organizations by the German government.

The suspect was arrested by police in the city of Potsdam, the capital of the state of Brandenburg, which surrounds the German capital of Berlin. He faces charges of membership in a terrorist organization, war crimes and weapons violations, prosecutors said in a statement cited by The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

From January to August 2013, the man, named only Khaled A. under Germany's privacy laws, is accused of having been a member of Ahrar al-Tabqa, a rebel group that sprang up in the northern town of Tabqa in the early stages of Syria's civil war. He is then believed to have joined a larger Islamist group, Ahrar al-Sham
...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014...
, and to have been one of its spokesmen up to at least October 2013.

CIVILIAN EVICTIONS
According to the German news magazine Focus, the man is suspected of having taken part in fighting armed with a machine gun, thus violating laws on military weaponry. Prosecutors also accuse him of having evicted civilians from their homes in Tabqa to allow fellow fighters to live in them, Focus said.

Both groups wanted to oust the regime of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Horror of Homs...
and put a system based on a fundamentalist interpretation of Islam in its place.

Prosecutors did not say whether the suspect entered Germany as one of hundreds of thousands who have sought asylum in the country since 2015. Some other terrorism suspects arrested in Germany have been from this group.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Special Tribunal finds 1 defendant guilty, acquits remaining over Rafic Hariri assassination
[ALMASDARNEWS] n February 2005, former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri was killed when a huge truck bomb blew up in Beirut. Hariri, a billionaire construction tycoon, was Prime Minister from 1992 until 1998 and again between 2000 and October 2004.

A Hezbollah supporter has been found guilty on all counts by a Special Tribunal for Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
in the Netherlands but three other men have been acquitted.

On February 14, 2005, Mr Hariri and 21 others were killed when a truck bomb as he drove through downtown Beirut. More than 200 people were maimed.

Salim Ayyash, 56, has been convicted on all nine counts but Assad Sabra, 43, Hassan Oneissi, 46, and Hassan Habib Merhi, 54, have been found not guilty.

All had been tried in absentia. Their whereabouts are unknown.

Charges were dropped against a fifth suspect, Mustafa Badreddine, after he was killed during the Syrian civil war in 2016.

On Tuesday, August 18, Judge David Re, an Australian, said the bombing was "undoubtedly a political act" and he said the evidence showed Syria was dominant in Lebanon at the time and opponents of the Syrian presence included Mr Hariri’s Future Movement.

"The trial chamber is of the view that Syria and Hezbollah may have had motives to eliminate Mr Hariri and some of his allies. However,
a hangover is the wrath of grapes...
there was no evidence that the Hezbollah leadership had any involvement in Mr Haririr’s murder and there is no direct evidence of Syrian involvement in it," said Judge Re.

Judge Re said the decision to kill Mr Hariri "would not have been taken lightly" as he had several powerful allies in the US, La Belle France and Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...

Skynet is coming: Army, Texas A&M develop 'Terminator'-style material that can 'heal itself'
[FoxNews] U.S. Army and Texas A&M researchers have developed a material that they say can "heal autonomously."

The 3-D printable and stimuli-responsive polymeric materials have fueled comparisons with the shapeshifting T-1000 Terminator character in the movie "Terminator 2: Judgement Day."

The materials could be used for morphing drones and robotic platforms, according to aerospace engineer Dr. Frank Gardea, who is the principal investigator of the project for the Army’s Combat Capabilities Development Command’s Army Research laboratory.

"As the research matures, the epoxy material is expected to have the ability for massive reconfigurability and have embedded intelligence allowing it to autonomously adapt to its environment without any external control," the Army explains on its website. "Currently, the stimulus this material responds to is temperature, which researchers first selected because of its ease of use during laboratory testing."

Researchers have introduced light-responsiveness to the material, because it is easier to control and apply, according to Gardea.

The research, which is still in the discovery phase, is published in the peer-reviewed journal Advanced Functional Materials.

The Army is targeting this type of research as part of its Future Vertical Lift initiative, which aims to improve knowledge of material behaviors for "far-future" military technologies.

Army researchers, for example, are eyeing drones that can change shape in midflight. Experts from the Army’s Research Laboratory presented their work on a new tool to develop the small shape-shifting drones at the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Aviation Forum and Exposition virtual event on June 16.

Army researchers and Texas A&M University published the findings of a two-year study in fluid-structure interaction. "Their research led to a tool, which will be able to rapidly optimize the structural configuration for Future Vertical Lift vehicles while properly accounting for the interaction between air and the structure," explains the Army Research Laboratory, in a statement released earlier this year.

The U.S. military is heavily focused on the development of innovative materials. Researchers at the University of Buffalo and Army scientists, for example, have simulated mother of pearl, or the outer coating of pearls, to create a lightweight plastic described as 14 times stronger and eight times lighter than steel. In a statement released last year, the Army said that the material is "ideal for absorbing the impact of bullets and other projectiles."

[AlAhram] Mutineering soldiers rounded up a number of senior civilians and military officials from Mali's capital on Tuesday and drove them back to their base, a Malian security source and an official in the prime minister's office said.

Unconfirmed rumours that the mutineers had arrested President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita swept Bamako, prompting hundreds of anti-government protesters to pour into a central square to celebrate and say it was time for him to resign.

Word got out about the march, and vets, bikers, and good ol' boys showed up. The thing you hear on the videos is "protect the flag" -- the flag raised on the pole from the WWII Veterans Memorial, in front of the Grant Memorial building. Because Grant once lived in Bethel.

There were a couple of arrests -- because one idiot sucker-punched an "activist" -- but it was mostly peaceful. And the "BLM march" slunk out of town, whining that the town "wasn't ready" for their message.

#12  BLM held an event on Aug 8th in Minden NV to protest our Sheriff telling the library if your support BLM don't feel the need to call us. Maybe 50 BLM supporters and about 900 locals in support of the Sheriff and against BLM and their bilge showed up. Almost everyone supporting BLM was from CA and even the bay area, 4hrs away Mostly polite, some noise and a couple of hours of sporadic shouting and walking around on Main Street (US 395 is really the only major street in the Minden/Garnerville area) Incidentally, a fair number of citizens showed up armed with long guns, mostly AR15s in nonthreatening carry. Despite the planned return this past weekend with more supporters according to the BLM jerkoff spokesman (one of the few blacks actually there), not a peep nor trace was seen. Seems the deep red nature of the community didn't fit well in the anarchist playbook.

Marks & Spencer apologises after 'covert racism' complaint about bra colours
[MIRROR.CO.UK] Marks & Spencer has apologised after it was accused of "covert racism" over its bra colours.Kusi Kimani, 29, from East Sussex, was shocked when she discovered a brown bra on the retailer's website was called "tobacco".

The lighter colours of the £12 Marks & Spencer Collection padded bras are described as "cinnamon" and "fudge".

Ms Kimani complained about the bra for her skin tone carrying negative connotations, while more positive words were used for lighter colours.

Yet two months on from her initial complaint, the bra is still being sold in a "tobacco" colour on the Marks & Spencer website.

However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
the retailer pledged to drop the name when approached by the Mirror and apologised for not acting sooner.

Ms Kimani told Mirror Online: "I saw it about two weeks after George Floyd's death and it was particularly raw to see at that time.

"Why not call it cocoa, caramel or chocolate - sweet dessert items? But they used tobacco. I was shocked when I saw it.

Manhunt underway for attacker in Portland truck assault. Really.
[FOXNEWS] Portland police on Tuesday identified a suspect in Sunday night's attack on a truck driver who was seen on video being pulled from the vehicle and violent mostly peacefully beaten.

The Portland Police Bureau is on the hunt for Marquise Love, who also goes by the name "Keese Love," for his alleged involvement in the vicious assault that was caught on video and circulated on social media.
Marquise Love (Portland Police Bureau)

Officials said in a blurb they have made several attempts to reach 25-year-old Love, but have so far been unsuccessful. They have said they have probable cause for his arrest.

"The Portland Police Bureau is taking this assault and other incidents of violence extremely seriously," said Chief Chuck Lovell in a statement provided with the blurb. "Our Detectives continue to investigate this assault as well as other acts of violence directed toward protestors, but we need more than just videos from social media. In order to hold individuals responsible for criminal acts, we need the public to provide information and refrain from tampering with evidence."

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a 911 call from someone who reported that protesters "chased a white Ford" four-by-four truck, which then crashed in the downtown area, according to a department blurb. Protesters then dragged the driver out of the vehicle, one caller stated. Another told police an estimated nine to 10 people began "beating the guy," the caller stated.

The boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital at death's door, police said. The girl was shot in the leg and foot and taken to Mercy Hospital & Medical Center in good condition.

The shooting took place near Fuller Elementary School and there was a gathering outside when the shooting took place, according to a law enforcement source. There were no eye witnesses. It’s unclear if they were the intended target.

Multiple shell casings were found at the scene. Chicago fire arrived around 9:30 p.m. to hose down blood on 42nd Street.

About 9 p.m., a 13-year-old boy was in a vehicle with two other people in the 1500 block of South Kedvale Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side when they heard gunshots, police said. The boy was shot in the chest, and he was dropped off at a nearby fire station then taken to Stroger Hospital at death's door.

Russian Air Force launches first attack this month over northwestern Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Russian Air Force launched their first strikes of the month over northwestern Syria, targeting a number of areas inside the Idlib Governorate.

According to reports from northwestern Idlib, the Russian Air Force targeted the positions of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
(HTS) and their allies in the western part of the Idlib Governorate on Tuesday.

The reports said the Russian Air Force concentrated their strikes on the positions of the jihadist groups behind Monday’s attack against the Ottoman Turkish military patrol in the Idlib Governorate.

During the Ottoman Turkish military’s patrol along the M-4 Highway (Aleppo-Latakia Highway), their troops came under attack by a group of gunnies armed with RPGs.

While no one was harmed, the krazed killer attack forced the Ottoman Turkish military to suspend their routine patrol along the M-4 Highway.

The Russian military has repeatedly responded to these krazed killer attacks against these patrols by launching Arclight airstrike

Belarusian ambassador to Slovakia resigns after supporting protesters
[EN.ALGHADEER.TV] The Belarusian ambassador to Slovakia, who supported protesters rallying against his country’s authoritarian president, said Tuesday he has handed in his resignation, a move indicating growing dissent at a high level of government.

Igor Leshchenya said in an interview that it was "a logical move" after he recorded a video statement supporting unprecedented protests that have roiled Belarus for nine days in a row since the Aug. 9 presidential election that gave a sixth term to longtime leader Alexander Lukashenko.

In the statement released on Saturday, Leshchenya expressed "solidarity with those who came out on the streets of Belarusian cities with peaceful marches so that their voice could be heard," said he was shocked by the reports of mass beatings and torture of protesters and accused Belarusian law enforcement of restoring the traditions of the Soviet secret police.

"As an ambassador, I’m appointed by the president, and it is expected that I follow the policies determined by him. The Foreign Ministry (of Belarus) believes my civic stance has gone beyond that," Leshchenya told independent Belarusian news outlet Tut.by on Tuesday.

The president is yet to sign Leshchenya’s resignation.

Leshchenya, 52, was the first top government official to support the protests against Lukashenko, who won 80% of the votes, according to the official election.

His top challenger, former English teacher Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, got only 10% and denounced the vote as rigged, demanding a recount as hundreds of thousands of people poured into the streets all across Belarus in protest.

"Whatever happened to ThriveNYC?" asked City Councilman Eric Ulrich (R-Queens).

"How much taxpayer money will the mayor’s wife pilfer before leaving office? How can she sleep at night hiring these hacks knowing so many other city workers are facing layoffs this fall? This is a disgrace!" Ulrich fumed.

McCray has a core team of eight staffers, according to a recent list provided to The Post following a Freedom of Information Law request filed in October 2019. This is despite the city facing layoffs of 22,000 municipal workers over the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)

IED explosion kills Russian general in Deir ez-Zor: defense ministry
[Rudaw] A Russian major general was killed in Syria’s eastern province of Deir ez-Zor on Tuesday after their convoy hit an improvised bomb, Russia’s Defense Ministry has said.

The explosion took place while a Russian convoy returned from a "humanitarian mission," according to a ministry statement published by state-owned TASS news agency. Two Russian servicemen were also injured in the incident.

The unnamed general, also a "senior military advisor," died from his wounds after being evacuated, the ministry added.

Russian troops are present throughout the country in support of Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

Twenty-five people were maimed in the shootings while another seven were killed.

6 ABC reported Philadelphia police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw commented on the incident, saying, "There were a lot of people out here. We do believe that someone knows who the shooters were and could possibly help us in identifying and figuring out exactly what happened."

Outlaw did not speculate on the number of button men, but said shell casings from "several weapons were ... found on the scene."

Lebanese President says it's 'impossible' that Hezbollah caused explosion at Beirut Port
"It'a elementary, my dear LeGume," said Inspector Camembert. "If you dismiss the most likely culprit, the next most likely culprit is your man!"
"Inspector! How do you do it?"

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Lebanese President, Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
, ruled out on Monday that the Beirut Port explosion was caused by a warehouse filled with Hezbollah’s weapons.

President Aoun indicated in an interview with the Italian "Corriere della Sera", as reported by Rooters, that the investigation will include all possibilities despite his assurance that the earth-shattering kaboom was not caused by a weapons warehouse belonging to Hezbollah.

The Lebanese President said that Hezbollah was not storing weapons at the port, which was indicated by Sayyed His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...
, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, earlier this month.

In response to the newspaper’s question about the matter, Aoun stressed, "It is impossible, but serious events such as this one sharpen the spirit and the imagination."

President Aoun confirmed that investigations are underway to fin out whether the earth-shattering kaboom was a result of negligence, an accident, or external interference.

"Although it seems like an accident, I want to avoid accusing me of not hearing all the voices," he explained.

"A lot of people talked about seeing planes in the sky over the harbor just before the earth-shattering kaboom," the Lebanese {resident said, "and although this conversation is not very reliable, it must be heard."

Thus far, the Lebanese authorities have yet to come to a conclusion regarding the source of the earth-shattering kaboom.

#1  Some sources say that the area where the various explosions took place was under the control of Hezbollah.
Naturally that organization maintained a large supply of harmless fireworks, not weapons there. These non-weapons did, however explode and did so in such a manner as to ignite the harmless fertilizer.
Of course it is impossible that those non-weapons came from an Iranian chartered ship delivering missiles and other weapons to Hezbollah
Aoun is perfectly right in saying that it is difficult to believe that Hezbollah blew up it own weapons and explosives on purpose, if that was his meaning.

Congressional GOP Candidate From Baltimore Drops a Truth Bomb on Democrats With Viral Video
[TOWNHALL] Baltimore GOP congressional candidate Kim Klacik turned heads on Monday when she released a new campaign video that dared to tell people in her city something her opponents wouldn't: the truth.
There's no way she's gonna get elected, but she's what the city needs.
We had Mrs. Klacik’s video here yesterday. A beautiful and insightful woman who took the time to get to know the needs of the constituency as well as the local Republican party before offering herself as the solution.
"Do you care about Black lives?" Klacik asks at the start of her video. "The people that run Baltimore don't." In stilettos and with conviction, Klacik then invites viewers to go on a walk with her into one of Baltimore's many dilapidated, crime-ridden neighborhoods.

In the video, Klacik passes an almost endless vista of boarded-up homes, shattered windows, and urban detritus: an all-too-common sight throughout Baltimore. Far from completely abandoned, these rowhouses are home to thousands of Baltimoreans, including children, and are the location of hundreds of homicides per year. The urban decay born out of poverty and desperation has spread like cancer in recent years, as those with any means have packed up and headed out of the city.

Klacik made national headlines last summer when she toured homes that were crumbling in West Baltimore. The videos she took of the filth and decay caught the attention of President Trump, who started a now-infamous spat with Rep. Elijah Cummings
...late Representative-for-life from Maryland, representing half of Baltimore City, which makes his district ultra-safe, and most of Howard County, which is out-populated by the city. His shiny pate was the reason we pronounce the city name Baldymore. Cummings' politix were so liberal they were tedious, nor was he any more honest than the next seedy professional pol. A fuss fest like you wouldn't believe eruped when President Trump pointed out that Elijah's district was infested by rats and cockroaches. Shortly thereafter he died. Elijah, not Trump...
"This is Baltimore, the real Baltimore," Klacik said in the video. "This is the reality for black people every single day: crumbling infrastructure, abandoned homes, poverty, and crime. Baltimore has been run by the Democrat Pary for 53 years. What is the result of their decades of leadership?"

She then went on to recount the staggering crime and poverty statistics the city has become notorious for.

"Baltimore is one of the top five most dangerous cities in America," she said. "The murder rate in Baltimore is 10 times the U.S. average. In 2019, Baltimore recorded 348 homicides. As the city loses residents at a staggering rate, the murder rate in 2020 has stayed on pace to match or eclipse the number from last year. So far in 2020, 208 people have been murdered. “

Afghanistan
Key Daesh Member Abdullah Orakzai Killed in Govt Forces Operation
[ToloNews] The National Directorate of Security
...the Afghan national intel agency...
(NDS) in a statement said that ISIS’s Khorasan branch’s top judge Abdullah Orakzai was killed in an operation by Afghan forces.

The "infamous bully boy leader," the NDS said, was involved in issuing hardline decrees including the "beheading of civilians and forced marriages for ISIS fighters."

He was leading the conflict against the government forces in Nazian and Achin districts in the eastern province of Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
, said the statement.

Abdullah Orakzai was the designated deputy of ISIS’s designated intelligence chief Assadullah Orakzai, the NDS said.

"Abdullah Orakzai was the implementer of the Nangarhar prison attack on August 2," the NDS said, adding that "the Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
was the main plotter of the attack."

The complex attack on Nangarhar prison was conducted by 10 attackers and was claimed by ISIS. The attack ended after almost 20 hours and left at least 30 people dead, according to government figures.

On August 1, NDS in a statement said that the Afghan forces in an operation killed Assadullah Orakzai, the designated head of intelligence of ISIS’s Khorasan branch.

"Afghanistan’s regional and international partners should remember that Afghanistan is a key player in the fight against terrorist and will crush terrorists' roots anywhere," the NDS said.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom: Time to ‘Sober Up' About Green Energy's Flaws
FAILURE
[Breitbart] California Gov. Gavin Newsom said Monday that the state had to "sober up" about the fact that renewable energy sources had failed to provide enough power for the state at peak demand, and needed "backup" and "insurance" from other sources.
Unexpectedly.
Newsom addressed journalists and the public in the midst of ongoing electricity blackouts that began on Friday, as hundreds of thousands of Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) customers in northern and central California lost power.

There is currently high demand for electricity across the state, as the entire West Coast has been hit by a heat wave and record-breaking temperatures.

One reason the state lacked power, officials admitted, was its over-reliance on "renewables" — i.e. wind and solar power.

There was not enough wind to keep turbines going, Newsom said, and cloud cover and nightfall restricted solar power.
What? You mean solar plants don't work at night? And wind turbines don't work without wind? Who knew?
"While we’ve had some peak gust winds," he explained, "wind gust events across the state have been relatively mild."

That was good for fighting fires, he said, but bad for the "renewable portfolio" in the state’s energy infrastructure. In addition, high demand for electricity in the evening hours, coupled with less input from solar plants, created strain.

On Friday, Newsom said, the state had fallen about 1,000 megawatts short; on Saturday, it fell 450 megawatts short. Sunday saw only "modest or minor" interruptions. But on Monday, he said, the state would be 4,400 megawatts short of "where we believe we need to be."

"This next few days, we are anticipating being challenged," Newsom said, as the heat wave was predicted to last through Wednesday.

"We failed to predict and plan these shortages," Newsom admitted boldly, "and that’s simply unacceptable." He said he took responsibility for the crisis, and for addressing it immediately, so that "we never come back into this position again."

Newsom said the state would try to address shortfalls through conservation, and through procuring new sources of energy.

Though the state would continue its "transition" to 100% renewable energy, Newsom said, "we cannot sacrifice reliability as we move forward in this transition."

Newsom asked the public to help manage the current crisis by conserving energy. Air conditioning, he said, should be set to 78º from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., for example, and children should be reminded to turn lights off in rooms as they left.
I gotta tell you, folks, Mrs. Uluque is a southern California girl who is accustomed to 70 degrees. When the temperature gets too far above or below that, she freaks out and I'm the one who suffers for it. Seventy-eight degrees is way in the heck too hot for this girl. Well, she doesn't like Newsom anyway.

The unit consists of infantry forces, combat engineers, elite Yehlum forces, Gadzar reconnaissance battalions, paratroopers, artillery, the al-Kalaba unit, Dovdovan unit, as well as the air force, pilots, and field intelligence.

The newspaper pointed out that "the unit will be equipped with advanced weapons and has a new command and control system on the ground to control communications and the level of fire, and to collect intelligence information and identify targets."

They noted that the unit will be linked to a "smart trigger"system that links the means of collection and attack on the battlefield. It allows firing circuits to be closed quickly, accurately, effectively and safely.

Multiple Portland companies plan to move out of downtown office spaces because ongoing BLM protests have made the area 'unsafe'
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] A number of companies based in downtown Portland are set to vacate or sell their offices because on-going protests in the city against police brutality have led to 'unsafe' conditions in the area, reports suggest.

Activists have taken to the city streets for the last 82 consecutive nights to demonstrate under the banner of Black Lives Matter, but some of the rallies have descended into chaos, resulting in violent mostly peaceful festivities with police or widespread acts of vandalism.

The protests were spurred by the Memorial Day police killing of George Floyd in Minnesota, and other examples of cop brutality across the US.

But businesses in the area now say the perpetual disruptions have caused ’unsafe conditions’ in the neighborhood — and they want out.

Standard Insurance, whose headquarters at 900 SW 5th Avenue is a key part of downtown Portland’s cityscape, have removed the last of their 2,100 employees from the center and have relocated them to their office in Hillsboro.

’Our downtown properties have sustained significant vandalism and a number of employees and contractors have been assaulted in recent months,’ Standard Insurance's community relations senior director Bob Speltz told KGW.

In the long-term, Standard Insurance says it’s exploring more permanent remote and alternative work options.

Speltz says the removal of its workforce from the area is likely temporary but he’s unsure how many workers will return to the company’s downtown locations.
Nothing is so permanent as a temporary work move.
The majority of its 2,100 workers had already been working from because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Speltz said.

’We remain committed to the downtown core,’ Speltz continued, ’assuming conditions in the neighborhood improve.’

While the future of Standard’s Portland buildings remain unclear, numerous business owners in the area spoke out last month about how they were losing massive amounts of money due to the demonstrations and may also have to consider relocating.

The protests, combined with the pandemic, was found to have caused several million dollars in either damage or lost revenue, a survey administered by the Portland Business Alliance found.

One of the responding businesses reported losses of more than $20 million alone. The company wasn't named in the findings, however the staggering number is said to still be growing.

'The financial consequences to the downtown corridor are a running calculation that is almost impossible to wrap your mind around. The financial impacts of physical damage is one thing, and that continues to increase,' the organization’s president and CEO, Andrew Hoan, said in July. 'Then the ongoing loss of revenue to the business community who cannot operate their places of businesses is also a number that continues to rise.'

Business owners said the continued festivities in the city, particularly in front of the federal courthouse, are affecting profits and their sense of safety.

'Safety-wise, we’re just concerned. Our employees are a little bit nervous being here, especially later in the evenings. We try to have extra people just to make sure that everybody is safe and feels comfortable,' Stacey Gibson, a Subway franchise owner, told KATU.

Pizza Hut's largest franchise operator plans to close as many as 300 pizza shops
[DALLASNEWS] NPC International Inc., the largest franchise operator for Plano-based Pizza Hut, announced on Monday that it will close as many as 300 Pizza Huts. The decision was made after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July, when shutdowns related to the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
pandemic challenged its businesses.

A statement from Kansas-based NPC says it has not picked which restaurants will close, or when. NPC operates 1,227 Pizza Hut franchises, or about 18% of Pizza Hut’s 6,700 stores. NPC also operates just under 400 Wendy’s stores.

A "substantial majority" of the Pizza Huts that are closing are dine-in restaurants, the statement says.

The company does not operate any Pizza Huts in Dallas proper; its closest North Texas restaurants are to the east, in Tyler and Lindale, and to the northwest, in Bowie.

Across North Texas, small restaurateurs are trying out pizza during the pandemic. Yum! Brands, Pizza Hut’s parent company, reported an eight-year high in delivery and carry-out sales in early May.

Pizza Hut has been challenged by rising food and labor costs and competition with other pizza brands such as Domino’s Pizza and Papa John’s Pizza, we reported in July.

Pizza Hut says the closures are "an important step toward a healthier business" in a statement.

Afghanistan
Officials: Govt Retakes Ghor's Murghab District from Taliban; Other Officials Say Taliban Took District From Govt
No doubt half the officials are correct today, the other half being correct yesterday and tomorrow. Though God alone knows which on what day.
[ToloNews] Following heavy fighting between the Afghan cops and the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
that lasted all day, Murghab district of Ghor province fell to the Taliban on Monday night, the Afghan security officials in the province confirmed on Tuesday.

The Taliban attacked the Murghab police headquarters two days ago and the district collapsed to the Taliban following 24 hours of heavy fighting, the officials said.

This is the first time that Afghan government officials confirmed the loss of a district to the Taliban following the US-Taliban peace agreement which was signed in Doha on February 29.

"Our security forces retreated to avoid any harm to the civilian population, but this morning a joint operation of special units, the commandos and the national police, began the retaking of Murghab," said Abdul Maroof Ramish, a front man for the Ghor police.

Meanwhile,
...back at the dirigible, Cynthia backed into the galley, the barbecue fork held in front of her.
Jack! she called. Where the hell are you?...

Aref Abir, a front man for Ghor's governor has said that the security forces have recaptured Ghor.

Abir said that the Afghan government forces have deployed around the Somok area of Ghor.

A number of civil society activists blamed the local government for the recent spate of violence.

"Poor leadership within the local government and misuse of the public uprising forces and local police by the tribal elders are among the key reasons which led to a surge in the scale of violence in Ghor," said Ahmad Shah Mawahid, a civil society activist in Ghor.

Ghor is one of the insecure provinces in central Afghanistan.

"The security situation is not good across Ghor province, we have grave concerns about a possible collapse of other districts in Ghor to the Taliban," said Maroof Saeedi, a resident of Ghor.

According to 207 Zafar Army Corps, last night the Taliban staged 25 attacks in the western parts of the country.

There are also reports of heavy casualties among the two sides in the fighting in the province.

#2  “If Men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and the next place, oblige it to control itself.”― James Madison

China-Japan-Koreas
China Grows Hungry
[EpochTimes] The leadership of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) knows what’s coming to the people of China: food shortages. That’s the reason behind Beijing’s latest draconian edict to the people, the so-called "Clean Plates Campaign." Once enacted, the new law will limit the amount of food that people can order at a restaurant and may even extend into what amounts Chinese citizens can consume in their own households.

This latest totalitarian move by the CCP comes on the heels of Beijing’s very public arrest of Hong Kong media mogul Jimmy Lai, whom Beijing designated a threat to national security. The two may not seem related, but evidently, freedom of speech and freedom of dining are both considered by the Party to pose national security risks.

Unfortunately, China has seen a significant rise in China’s food prices, particularly pork, which is the national staple. As of this past July, an almost 90 percent year-over-year rise in pork prices was recorded, and overall food prices rose 10 percent over the same time period.
