LONDON (AP) — Dozens of customers who stopped for a drink at Britain’s highest altitude pub got a longer stay than they bargained for, after the building was cut off by a blizzard.
Sixty-one people woke up Monday after their third night at the Tan Hill Inn in the Yorkshire Dales, 270 miles (435 kilometers) north of London. They have been unable to leave since Friday, when a late autumn storm brought snow and heavy winds that felled power cables and blocked roads.
The pub sits 1,732 feet (528 meters) above sea level and is used to being cut off by bad weather.
Manager Nicola Townsend said staff had organized movies, a quiz night and karaoke for the stranded guests. They have also been entertained by an Oasis cover band, Noasis, who have also been stuck at the pub since their gig on Friday night.
Townsend said the guests were "in really good spirits."
"They’ve formed quite a friendship ... like a big family is the best way I can describe it," she said. "One lady actually said ’I don’t want to leave.’"
Townsend said she hoped people would be able to head home later Monday once roads had been cleared.

[Breitbart] A survey released this week has revealed that half of the French public believe in the “Great Replacement” theory and that elites in politics and business are attempting to replace the native population of France.
The Ifop survey, which asked a number of questions regarding immigration and topics such as Islamisation, found that 50 per cent of the French believe in the Great Replacement, a theory coined by French writer Renaud Camus to describe the demographic replacement of native peoples by mass migration.
Nearly seven in ten of the respondents to the survey, or 69 per cent, stated they believed there were “too many” immigrants in France, while 62 per cent said that immigration was the primary reason for insecurity issues in the country, French news magazine L’Obs reports.
In the Ifop survey, respondents were also asked about French identity and Islam, with 70 per cent stating that France should remain a Christian country, while 68 per cent said that Islam was a threat to French identity.
Crime, particularly that involving underage illegal immigrants, has become a major problem in certain parts of France and the surge in minor migrant criminality was highlighted earlier this year by French Senator Henri Leroy.
“Just look at the panorama of delinquency. There is a worrying increase which seems exponential. The number of minor migrants was 30,000 in 2015 and 60,000 in 2018, and the associated problems are increasing at the same rate,” Leroy said in May.
“In Bordeaux, 40 per cent of delinquency is attributable to them, and the proportion was 24 per cent two years ago. The problem grows and threatens to infiltrate all sections of delinquency, trafficking, banditry… We need to stop this bleeding,” he added.
The survey was conducted by Ifop for the anti-hate groups the International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism (LICRA) and the magazine Le Droit de Vivre in response to the dramatic rise of the conservative writer and presidential hopeful Eric Zemmour in polling for next year’s French presidential elections.
Zemmour has been clear in his stance against mass migration and has referenced the Great Replacement theory in the past.
He has also been firmly opposed to the Islamisation of France and was placed under investigation over remarks he had made at a conference in 2019 when he stated: “In France, as in all Europe, all our problems are aggravated by immigration — schools, housing, unemployment, social deficits, public order, prisons — but all our problems are also aggravated by Islam. It’s double punishment.”
Earlier this month, a hate crime trial for Zemmour began over comments he had made on French television regarding minor migrants last year.
“They have nothing to do here, they are thieves, they are murderers, they are rapists, that’s all they are, they must be sent back and they must not even come,” Zemmour said while appearing on the television programme Face à l’info on broadcaster CNews.
[Breitbart] Border Patrol agents in Del Rio apprehended more than 250 migrants crossing the Rio Grande in a single group. The group, according to a source within Customs and Border Protection (CBP) crossed the river into the United States on Sunday near the Del Rio International Bridge where more than 15,000 mostly Haitian migrants were held in a makeshift detention camp in September.
The source says the nationalities of the migrants were a mix of mostly Venezuelan and Cuban migrants. The source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, says the nearly 300 migrants are being held under the port of entry while they await transportation to nearby Border Patrol stations in the region.
As reported by Breitbart Texas, the area that once provided temporary shelter to nearly 15,000 migrants under the international bridge was being used again to shelter migrants as they awaited transportation in early November. The overcrowding at Border Patrol stations in the sector is one factor impeding the Border Patrol from rapidly transporting migrants from border crossing points.
The overflow staging area drew international attention in September as officials held thousands of mostly Haitian migrants in the outdoor facility in filthy conditions. During this crisis, migrants were held outdoors in self-constructed cardboard and thatch huts for several weeks.
These migrants will ultimately be removed from the area and processed for removal according to the source. Although some single adult migrants were among the group, family units with small children will likely be released into the communities surrounding Del Rio the source says. In what is becoming a revolving door process, on Sunday several busses from local Border Patrol stations released hundreds of migrants to a non-government shelter in Eagle Pass.
The Del Rio Sector ranks second in the nation in migrant apprehensions, only behind the Rio Grande Valley Sector, according to CBP reports. The apprehension of numerous large migrant groups within the Del Rio Sector recently is compounding the logistical problems currently facing the agency.
Recently, in one single event, a group of nearly 200 mostly Central American migrants crossed the Rio Grande near Normandy, Texas, just thirty miles away from Del Rio. According to the source, a large portion of the detained population at Del Rio Border Patrol stations consists of single adult migrants. The Border Patrol relies on ICE to find suitable, longer-term detention spaces for the single adult migrants and is also a complicating factor that adds to the overcrowding at temporary processing centers.

Reaction to the Omicron variant has been mixed. Some countries, including the United States, have announced travel bans with several African countries (where the variant was first discovered), citing its apparent high level of transmissibility for the decision.
Gov. Kathy Hochul has already declared a state of emergency for New York, even though there are no confirmed cases in the country, let alone her state, yet.
At least one doctor in South Africa has reported that the symptoms of the variant are mild but doctors have cautioned that we don’t know yet how the new variant will affect the elderly, who have typically been the group most at risk from COVID.
As for Jackson’s theory, while some have mocked him on Twitter, others think he’s on to something. Last year, COVID led to many changes in how we do elections, including several states and areas implementing universal mail-in voting—a very insecure voting method. While it seems many people are anxious to return to normal, Democrats have been hoping to make various COVID-era changes in voting permanent. So far, those efforts have failed, and I wouldn’t put it past them to use Omicron, or another variant that comes after it, as a pretext for implementing universal mail-in voting.
Omicron will no doubt morf into more deadly strains closer to the midterm. The lockdowns, restrictions, cancellations, and re-scheduling of elections must wait until then.

In 2016 under the Obama administration, the federal government awarded its first five-year grant of $1,116,895 to North Carolina Central University (NCCU) for "training" college students in critical race theory.
The program is called "The Research Institute for Scholars of Equity," or RISE. RISE promises to produce "a cadre of scholars who value and advance equity." As part of the program, these students receive a $5,000 stipend, money for food and housing, and a travel allowance. According to promotional materials and grant documents, RISE students are trained to use critical race theory as a means of evaluating teacher quality, among other things.
NCCU partnered with the University of North Carolina, Wilmington on the project, which provided one-year fellowships to about 60 students.
While some of the students will likely go on to be teachers, the program also puts an emphasis on training students with "research careers that will inform policy and practice in education" on a broader scale, helping propel critical race theory conversations nationwide.

According to a report released by ACAPS, from 2015, Houthis have been gradually enforcing policies linked to suppressing the religious practices of some Islamic sects. Reports on such incidences increased between July—September 2021.
The Houthis are repressing the population in two different ways:
1) imposing generic religious norms including taxes and celebrations.
2) suppressing non-Zaydi practice (such as the weddings, Salafi centers, and Tarawih prayer which is conducted during Ramadan).
There’s a mixture of ideological and pragmatic intentions behind this such as:
- Increasing revenue by collecting Zakat and taxing religious celebrations.
- Encouraging people to join the frontlines through sermons and other religious messaging, thereby increasing the number of fighters
- Emphasizing that ’true believers’ are those from the Zaydi school of thought (implying that those unaffiliated are infidels) to increase supporters for Zaydi Islam and hence the Houthis.
There are deliberate attempts to create division among people from different Islamic sects. Incidents related to religion reported between July—September built on previous incidents related to tax collection, music suppression, the closure of Salafi mosques, the replacement of Sunni imams who didn’t reinforce Houthi policies, and making changes on the school curriculum, especially with regard to history and Islamic and social studies.
Sanaa residents told Asharq al-Awsat that Houthis replaced mosques' imams who refused to abide by the group's policies. They also altered some of the Koran verses in their curriculum to teach and encourage violence instead of coexistence.

[An Nahar] The U.S. Navy has rescued two Iranian seamen who had been adrift for eight days on a fishing boat in Gulf waters, a statement said on Sunday.The men were in "good health and spirits" despite their ordeal, the navy said.

"We appreciate the government of Oman for its assistance and support in helping us return the mariners home," NAVCENT commander Vice Admiral Brad Cooper said in the statement.

In September, the Islamic Emirate froze the bank accounts of former government officials and now has decided to free the accounts of those who are still in the country.
Based on the decree, the Central Bank must also pay the salaries of former government officials who still work in government departments.
The decree also directs the Central Bank to unblock the accounts of the national assembly members, but it said they will not be paid a salary.
"The Central Bank is obliged to free the accounts of those former government officials who now work with the Islamic Emirate and pay their salaries. It is also ordered to release the accounts of those former government officials who are in Afghanistan," said Ahmadullah Wasiq, a member of the cultural commission of the Information and Culture Ministry.

In the case of the Chinese deal, outlined by Devine, they say there’s "no indication" that Joe Biden ever received the "10 percent for the big guy" promised in one e-mail.
But consider these questions:
We know from Hunter’s own correspondence that the chairman of China’s government-connected energy firm CEFC promised him $10 million a year for three years to provide "introductions." What politicians did he introduce executives to? Which of those meetings did Joe Biden help facilitate? What promises were made at those meetings?
Hunter complains multiple times that he’s expected to be the provider for the whole Biden family and expresses frustration at the "lack of respect" he received for bringing in the cash. Not only Devine’s book but "The Bidens: Inside the First Family’s Fifty-Year Rise to Power," by Politico’s Ben Schreckinger, reveals how the president’s family used his position for profit.
It goes even further than that. E-mails on the laptop indicate Hunter was paying Joe’s personal bills. What else was he paying for? Was he supplementing Joe Biden’s government salary? There also are indications that Hunter and Joe shared bank accounts and credit cards. In one case, Devine writes, Hunter used a credit card to pay a prostitute and instantly got a visit from an ex-Secret Service agent. How much were their funds co-mingled?
At the very least, the Chinese were paying the vice president’s son for government access. But it also now seems that the Chinese were paying Joe Biden millions through his son.
We’ve asked these questions of the administration and it ignores us, knowing that CNN, The Washington Post, The New York Times, et al. have its back and will never press things.
Joe Biden wants millions for IRS enforcement. Wonder if that includes actually finishing the investigation of his son’s money-making and registering as a foreign agent. And would it include an audit of the president’s own income and whether he was declaring money given to him by Hunter?
That is why Hunter matters. The media are out of excuses.

[ToloNews] Afghan Independent Bar Association (AIBA) members claimed Sunday that Islamic Emirate forces took over the AIBA office in Kabul and the government (Islamic Emirate) is aiming to use it as a government office functioning under the Ministry of Justice.
This comes as a great number of Afghan prosecutors and advocates--many of whom were women--left the country after the collapse of the former government in August.
"The forces of the Islamic Emirate entered the associations’ Kabul office, closed all the rooms and ordered all the members and staff to get out of the office," said Najla Rahel, a former deputy at AIBA.
"Our request is the independence of the association; if it is not considered, we will continue and launch civil protests," said Sayed Maarof Hashimi Jahed, head of AIBA's media office.
The members further added that AIBA, which was functioning independently in accordance with the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI) laws, was established by a private fund and the government was only to monitor the association’s operations.
"The association is maintained by a private budget of defense attorneys, we want our rights, which is the independence of the association--our rights should not be ignored," said Hebatullah Naqed, a member of the AIBA.
Meanwhile, ...back at the revival hall, the SWAT team had finally arrived... the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute in a statement called for the sustained independence of the AIBA, saying the Islamic Emirate’s international recognition will face further challenges by taking such steps.
Officials at the Ministry of Justice said the Islamic Emirate has announced that AIBA will work under the Ministry of Justice. The MoJ spokeperson Mohammad Bashar said a caretaker has been chosen to manage the organization, but he did not provide a name.

Suspected sea pirates early on Sunday launched multiple attacks on some workers with the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) in Okoroma and Ogbokiri—Akassa communities of Nembe and Brass local government areas of Bayelsa State.
The button men reportedly rubbed out two workers of the Nigerian Agip Oil Company and personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). The skipper of their boat, who is an indigene of Okoroma community, has been declared missing by the locals.
In the ambush that occurred at Ogbokiri-Akassa in the Brass Local Government Area, six Nigerian oil workers who were busy doing maintenance job close to their platform were kidnapped and taken away.
The Agip oil workers and their security personnel were attacked around 6am on Sunday while working close to a Manifold in Bayelsa.
The front man for the NSCDC, Bayelsa command, ASC1 Ogbere Solomon, who confirmed the incident, said only one worker of the command died in the ambush, while two others who were missing had been found and were currently receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, the state capital.

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] A leaked message from the son of Essam El-Haddad, aide to former Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, on the Brotherhood’s political future, deepened the crises of the organization abroad.
According to the researcher in the affairs of fundamentalist movements in Egypt, Amr Abdel Moneim, "[the leaked message] reveals the distress of the organization, which is facing a major deadlock within its internal structure."
He noted that the message will open disputes within the Istanbul Front led by Mahmoud Hussein, the former Secretary-General of the organization.
According to al-Arabiya channel website, Abdullah al-Haddad, son of Essam al-Haddad, Mohammed Morsi’s assistant for foreign affairs, demanded the release of his father imprisoned in Egypt, in exchange for a pledge to quit politics and stop engaging in any related activities.
In an article published on a local Egyptian website, Abdullah said that Morsi’s death "ended a painful chapter in Egypt’s modern history."
"His death became a clear statement that the new local and regional political landscape will not allow for a recurrence of any form of political activity like that which occurred between 2012 and 2013," he stated.
Abdullah added that his father belonged to a past political era that has ended, in reference to the Brotherhood rule.
In remarks to Asharq al-Awsat, Abdel Moneim said that al-Haddad family used many of such methods during the last period to pressure Egypt to release Essam and his son Jihad.
Essam al-Haddad was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the case of "espionage with foreign parties." He was a member of the Brotherhood’s Guidance Office, and was appointed as Morsi’s assistant for foreign affairs during the Brotherhood’s rule in 2013. He obtained British citizenship. As for his son, Jihad, he was responsible for foreign relations and the chief advisor to the organization’s al-Nahda project.
Regarding the "leaked letter", Abdel Moneim said that it was "an attempt to gain international sympathy with al-Haddad family."
He added that the message will raise disputes within the Istanbul front and will open room for many questions about the situation of the organization there, especially that Essam’s brother, Medhat, is one of the leaders of the Brotherhood in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... .

"Even with a not-guilt verdict from a flawed 'justice' system — Kyle Rittenhouse is still guilty to his victims and the families of those victims," the group continued in its demands post on Instagram. "Join us to demand from ASU that these demands be met to protect students from a violent mostly peaceful, blood-thirsty murderer."
The organization is holding a rally on campus on Dec. 1 regarding these demands.

[NYPOST] A Canadian medical researcher who rose to become the nation’s top voice on indigenous health has been ousted from her government job and her university professorship — after suspicious colleagues investigated her increasingly fanciful claims of Native American heritage and learned she was a fraud.
Carrie Bourassa, a public health expert who served as scientific director of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research’s Institute of Indigenous Peoples’ Health, was suspended on Nov. 1, five days after the state-owned Canadian Broadcasting Corporation published a lengthy expose on her background.
Far from being a member of the Métis nation, as she had long claimed, a laborious trace of Bourassa’s family tree revealed that her supposedly indigenous ancestors were in fact immigrant farmers who hailed from Russia, Poland, and Czechoslovakia.
"It makes you feel a bit sick," said Janet Smylie, a Métis professor at the University of Toronto who worked with Bourassa on a book about indigenous parenting.
"To have an impostor who is speaking on behalf of Métis and indigenous people to the country about literally what it means to be Métis ... that’s very disturbing and upsetting and harmful."
Colleagues began to doubt Bourassa’s story as she began to add claims of Anishinaabe and Tlingit heritage to her tale — and took to dressing in stereotypically indigenous fashion.
It started to unravel in 2019, when she appeared in full tribal regalia — draped in an electric blue shawl, with a feather in her partially braided hair — to give a TEDx Talk at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
"My name is Morning Star Bear," she said tearfully as the crowd cheered.
"I’m Bear Clan. I’m Anishinaabe Métis from Treaty Four Territory," she proclaimed as she described an impoverished childhood beset by violence.
But colleagues at the university, where Bourassa held a professorship, smelled a rat.
"When I saw that TEDx, to be quite honest, I was repulsed by how hard she was working to pass herself off as indigenous," said Winona Wheeler, an associate professor of Indigenous studies at the college.
Wheeler, a documented member of Manitoba’s Fisher River Cree Nation, started digging into Bourassa’s genealogical records — and took her findings to the media.
But when pressed to provide evidence of Native American heritage, Bourassa suddenly changed her story — saying that she had been adopted into the Métis community by an unnamed Métis friend of her deceased grandfather, Clifford Laroque.
"Even though Clifford passed, those bonds are even deeper than death because the family has taken me as if I was their blood family," she insisted in a statement. "In turn, I serve the Métis community to the best of my ability."
The case is drawing comparisons to that of Rachel Dolezal, the white woman who claimed to be black as president of a local branch of the NAACP — and to Sen. The Bail Project is a registered nonprofit on GoFundme. Donations are typically 100 percent tax deductible in the United States, according to GoFundMe.
"Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit The Bail Project, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me," the description reads.
The Bail Fund describes Zoller as "a Bail Disruptor" in Louisville, Kentucky, as well as the founding organizer and board member of Louisville Books to Prisoners.
Zoller was also accused last year of distributing riot equipment to Black Lives Matter-Antifa ...the armed wing of the Democratic Party... activists from a U-Haul truck during unrest in Louisville following a Kentucky grand jury's decision in September 2020 to indict only one of the coppers involved in the high-profile Breonna Taylor case.
GoFundMe had pulled a separate crowdfunding page earlier last week to raise bail money for Brooks. GoFundMe confirmed to FOX Business via a spokesperson that they've removed the fundraiser for violating the platform's Terms of Service. The organizer who launched the fundraiser, a man identified as James Norton, will no longer be permitted to use the platform for any future fundraisers.
