Activists strike world's largest e-tailer on Black Friday
Hard not to snicker at Amazon being eaten by the monster it helped create.
NB: Extinction Rebellion is yet another tentacle of Antifa.
[RT] Climate activists Extinction Rebellion have disrupted Amazon’s operations, targeting 15 of its fulfilment depots across the world, while warehouse workers and delivery drivers have started a strike in Germany, France, and Italy.

On what is traditionally the online retailer’s busiest day of the year, the group has blocked the entrance to depots in the US, UK, Germany, and the Netherlands, unfurling banners reading, "Amazon crime", "Infinite growth, finite planet" and "Black Friday exploits people and planet". It says it has targeted the company for stoking excessive consumption that harms the environment and emitting carbon rivaling that of a country the size of Denmark. Amazon has also fallen foul of trade unions in Europe’s biggest economies, which claim the company underpays its employees and evades taxes.

In Germany, Amazon’s second-biggest market, around 2,500 employees went on strike at three fulfilment centers, according to the Verdi union, and strikes are also underway in France and Italy.
And, in an amazing effort to appease the mob...
Amazon did not directly address the protests, but stated that it takes its responsibilities "very seriously," including its aim to be net zero by 2040, but acknowledges that "there is always more to do."
So someone has yet to learn that you can never appease the mob - you just make them hungrier like releasing blood in a school of starving [for attention] sharks..
BTW: Extinction is an entirely natural process.

Hillary Clinton Scolds Americans for Not Appreciating Biden's Accomplishments
[LI] As you enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday this year, you may want to take a moment and give thanks that Hillary Clinton is still not the President of the United States.

She made an appearance on the Rachel Maddow show this week that must be seen to be believed.

Among the many outrageous claims made by the former senator and first lady, Hillary just doesn’t think people appreciate all the amazing things that Joe Biden has done as president.

Smithsonian's new FUTURES exhibit asks visitors when we'll see 'single global government'
[Just The News] The Smithsonian Institution's new FUTURES exhibit asks attendees when they think we will see a "single global government."

The global government question appears on a screen inside the exhibit that allows visitors to wave their hands in front of a camera to select an answer to the questions that show up.

"When might there be a single global government?" reads the question.

The answers that someone can choose from include time frames ranging from 10 years to 100 years or never.

Another question on the screen at the exhibit asks the public: "Which of these might unite different people most effectively?"

The answers that users can select include "shared world government, virtual reality travel, a universal language, an alien invasion or none of the above."

The global government question evokes parallels to the news that the Biden administration has reached an agreement with other G-20 countries on a global minimum corporate tax.

The FUTURES exhibit is located in the Smithsonian's Arts and Industries Building (AIB) in Washington, D.C., which has been closed to the public for 20 years. The museum's grand opening was Nov. 20. Some sponsors for the exhibit include Ford, Oracle, Amazon Web Services, Comcast NBC Universal and the NFL.

Comrade Omarova's nomination crashes and burns
[AMERICANTHINKER] The Death Eaters who tell Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing...
what to do as president overreached when they had him nominate Saule Omarova as comptroller of the currency, a powerful regulator of the banking system. The émigré from Soviet-era Kazakhstan, a Lenin Scholar at Moscow State University, earned a credential as a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, while also earning the credential of thief for an arrest for shoplifting in Madison, demonstrating contempt for private property. Naturally, she ended up as a professor.

That contempt, along with a Soviet commissar's view of private enterprise, when she expressed a desire to starve oil and gas producers of capital and drive them into bankruptcy, made it difficult for Democrat senators in swing states to vote for her confirmation.

Then there was her plan, expressed in an academic paper, to sweep bank deposits into the Federal Reserve Bank, all the better "for generating, modulating, and allocating financial resources in a democratic economy — the People's Ledger." My colleague Monica Showalter suspects that senators started hearing from constituents who did not want "the People's Ledger" to hold on to their financial resources and possibly loot them for public purposes like controlling inflation or redirecting capital into politically favored hands like Solyndra
...a green technological winner picked by the Obama administration that cost the taxpayers a half billion dollars, with the added benefit of the campaign contributors who put money into the project getting paid before the taxpayers when the wreckage went up for sale...
During Senate confirmation hearings, she claimed that her academic papers were just exploratory thoughts, even though she called them a "blueprint."

Scientists sound alarm over new 'worst-ever' super-mutant COVID variant that could make vaccines 40% less effective as the UK and Israel ban travel from South Africa and five other countries but passengers continue to stream into US
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News]
  • The B.1.1.529 variant has a 'very unusual constellation' of mutations and may be more resistant to the vaccine

  • Likely to be officially named Nu, variant might evade the body's immune response and be more transmissible

  • There are currently 77 confirmed cases in South Africa, four in Botswana, one in Hong Kong and one in Israel

  • However, the real numbers are likely much higher as health authorities establish the full scale of the spread

  • Britain, Israel, Singapore, Germany and Ital are among increasing countries to block flights from South Africa

  • There are no direct flights to US from any of the countries except South Africa. Early Friday morning, the CDC still listed South Africa as 'Level 1: Low Level of COVID-19' on the country's travel advice page

‘Feels Like A Ruse’ - Starlink Customers Angered By Massive Delay, Some Want Money Back
[ZeroHedge] Starlink, Elon Musk's internet space company, emailed customers late Tuesday night who put down a $100 deposit to secure a dish were being delayed for up to a year or more. Only days ago, Starlink customers reported on the Starlink account portal homepage that their expected order delivery time was late 2021.

The delay comes as no surprise. Musk is a notorious salesman who overpromises and underdelivers for some of his companies, especially Tesla. Last month, the world's richest man told Starlink users, "Should be nationwide rollout by the end of the month."

#3  I expect to see a lot more Elon Musk hit pieces after the failure of various lawsuits to impede SpaceX.

As I understand, the Starlink rollout has two bottlenecks: building the receivers and launching the satellite constellations. The launches seem to be proceeding apace, but producing the receivers has been a problem for some time, even before the chip shortage. Recently, the boxes were redesigned to make them cheaper and easier to produce.

Once they get connected, Starlink customers seem to be happy.
The fact that demand for broadband service is insane only compounds the problems.

#4  One of the holdups is they are intentionally holding back satellite launches, because the ground boxes aren't dense enough on the ground to make more sats cost efficient. The satellites have a definent lifespan and have to be replaced on a schedule. That's why they are flown in 'clouds'. It's also why it's tied into a launch company; it couldn't be worked otherwise.

Abdulla Abdullaev, 27, was accused of involvement in a terrorist organization.

"It has been established that the defendant in the period from January 2017 to October 7, 2020 on the territory of the Babayurtovsky and Tsuntinsky districts of Dagestan, during conversations with local residents, publicly declared that the ideology of the international terrorist organization 'Islamic State' was recognized as correct, in need of support and imitation, and also sent video recordings about the activities of the organization to his interlocutors via the Internet," the press service of the Southern District Military Court told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The defendant was found guilty and sentenced to four years in a general regime colony. He did not admit his guilt, the press service said.

The verdict has not entered into legal force and can be appealed by the parties in the Military Court of Appeal.

IDF reveals identity of Syrian officer working for Hezbollah
[JPost] Shhhhh, it's a secret
The IDF Spokesperson in Arabic revealed that a Syrian Army intelligence officer is cooperating closely with Hezbollah troops.

The IDF revealed the identity of a Syrian Army officer in charge of observing Israel on the Syrian Golan Heights on Israel’s border, who was helping Hezbollah’s activities in the buffer zone between the two countries.

Identified as Naqib Bashar al-Hussein, a resident of the village of Ekrima in his 30s, he serves as a company commander in the intelligence branch of the Syrian Army’s 90th brigade, but de facto serves as the "main link" between Hezbollah’s Southern Command and the Syrian Army’s 1st Corps.

Hussein is responsible for the lookouts along the border with Israel, for the analysis of their findings and other various patrols along the border. Some of his patrols were conducted in the buffer zone which, according to the armistice agreements with Israel in 1974, are off-limits for Syrian troops, the IDF said.

Iraq
UN Warns Against 'Unlawful' Acts to Derail Iraq's Elections
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] The UN has warned of any unlawful attempts to prolong or discredit the electoral results process in Iraq or alter them through intimidation and pressure.

During a videoconference briefing to the Security Council, the Secretary-General's Special Representative and head of the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), Jeanine Plasschaert, said that the elections were held under Iraq’s 2005 constitution, and there is much for "Iraqis to be proud of in this election."

Plasschaert noted that "I cannot overstate, these elections were hard-earned. Let us not forget, the October elections emerged from an unprecedented wave of country-wide demonstrations in 2019."

She recalled that the demonstrations were marked by violence, excessive use of force, abductions, and assassinations, resulting in hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries.

"There is no denying it: elections and their outcomes can provoke strong feelings. That goes for any democracy across the globe. And Iraq is no different. Depending on where one stands, emotions can run high."

The UN official warned that if such feelings and debates give way to undemocratic impulses - such as disinformation, baseless accusations, intimidation, threats of violence, or worse - then sooner or later, "the door is opened to acts that are simply intolerable."

She pointed out that some parties rejected the electoral results and began demonstrations and sit-ins.

Plasschaert referred to the liquidation attempt on Prime Minister Mustafa Kadhimi, saying it was a direct attack on the state. She described it as a "heinous act, and one which can only be condemned in the strongest of terms."

"To ease tensions, calm, restraint, and dialogue are the only way forward."

She indicated that results would only be final after the Federal Supreme Court
ratification, which takes place once the Electoral Judicial Panel has adjudicated on those appeals brought before it.

The Panel is finalizing its work, and the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) is conducting a further examination of over 800 polling stations.

"I can only say that further patience will have to be exercised."

The representative stressed that any unlawful attempts to prolong or discredit the electoral results process, or worse: to alter the electoral results through intimidation and pressure, can only backfire, and "I call on all stakeholders not to go down that path."

Iraq’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Mohammed Hussein Bahr al-Uloom, noted that the IHEC accepted the request of certain parties to conduct a recount and tabulation of several polling stations before the adjudication of results by the competent judicial authorities.

He stressed that the Federal Supreme Court would have the final say regarding the election results.

Bahr al-Uloom outlined steps taken by Iraq to address concerns, including implementing a national counter-terrorism strategy, enacting a law to address the adverse effects of ISIS against Yazidis and other communities, and the recent repatriation of 441 Iraqis stranded at the al-Hol camp.

He also voiced his rejection of Iraq’s territory being used by those seeking to settle political scores through the pretext of fighting terrorism.

Palestinian Seriously Hurt after Settlers Hurl Stones at Car
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] A Paleostinian man was critically maimed after Jewish settlers pelted his car with stones as he drove through the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, causing him to veer off the road and crash, Paleostinian officials said.
What's the Hebrew word for "intifada?"
Raid Kharaz lost control of his vehicle when rocks hurled by settlers smashed through the windshield near the West Bank village of al-Mughayir, according to Ghassan Daghlas, a Paleostinian Authority official who monitors settler violence.

Kharaz was flown to a nearby hospital, while his son, who was also in the vehicle, sustained lighter injuries, the official Paleostinian Wafa news agency reported.

The Israeli army referred questions to the police, who did not immediately respond to a request for comment, according to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.

The autumn has seen a sharp uptick in settler violence. In mid-November, dozens of settlers attacked a group of Paleostinians and Israeli activists with stones and clubs, hospitalizing a woman and wounding several others. In the same week, Jewish settlers attacked a group of Paleostinian farmers with pepper spray and clubs near an evacuated settlement outpost, wounding four people.

Recent months have also seen a steep rise in settler vandalism of Paleostinian property known as "price tag" attacks, a term coined by far-right settlers in response to perceived efforts by Israel to restrict settlement expansion.

Russian warship horns in on Norwegian naval exercise
By Thomas Nilsen

[BarentsObserver] The large warship “Vice-Admiral Kulakov”, the navy tug “Altai” and the military tanker “Akademik Pashin” were not in a hurry when sailing outside Vesterålen, northern Norway Wednesday and Thursday this week.

A few nautical miles closer to the shore is the Norwegian Navy’s annual FLOTEX 21 exercise underway. 14 Norwegian and NATO allied ships and submarines are participating in the two-week drill taking place in the fjords inside Andøya and the waters outside. Andøya is currently home to the airbase with Norwegian and allied maritime patrol aircrafts keeping track of Russian submarines sailing out from the strategically important Kola Peninsula.

"Vice-Admiral Kulakov" has been on a world-ocean voyage since late June, sailing the Mediterranean with visits to Syria, Algeria and Cyprus, as well as conducting anti-piracy guarding of civilian shipping off the coast of Africa and the Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic Ocean. Now, the warship is en route home to Severomorsk, the main base of the Russian Northern Fleet north of Murmansk.

"… the crew of the large anti-submarine ship Vice-Admiral Kulakov will complete a number of combat training missions in the Norwegian and Barents Seas," the press service of the Northern Fleet says.

The naval tanker "Akademik Pashin" was the only of the three Northern Fleet vessels sailing with the AIS turned on when passing Andøya late Wednesday evening. Screenshot from Vesselfinder.com

From Severomorsk, the Northern Fleet reports that the support ships will sail to home port sooner than the "Vice-Admiral Kulakov." The ships were not together Thursday morning.

The Norwegian Armed Forces says in a press statement that the aim of FLOTEX 21 is to build combat power and increase warfare capability in northern waters.

"To achieve this goal, large parts on the exercise focuses on anti-submarine warfare and submarine hunting," the statement reads.

Navy Commander Trond Gimmingsrud says this is the largest naval exercise in Norway this year.

France arrests fifth suspect in migrant boat tragedy
[AlAhram] A fifth suspect has been arrested in connection with the migrant boat that sank in the English Channel, killing at least 27 people, French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said Thursday.

Seventeen men, seven women and three minors died when the boat sank off the northern coast of La Belle France on Wednesday, according to public prosecutors in Lille. Four suspected people smugglers had already been arrested on Wednesday afternoon, Darmanin said.

The minister told the RTL broadcaster that the fifth suspect's car was registered in Germany and that he had bought inflatable Zodiac boats in Germany.

Prosecutors in the northern city of Lille have opened an investigation against the five for homicide and bodily harm, membership in a criminal gang, and aiding in the illegal crossing of borders.

Darmanin said La Belle France had arrested 1,500 people smugglers since the start of the year.

He said they "operate like mafia organizations", using encryption to stop police tapping their phone conversations.

Iraq sends planes to Belarus to collect more migrants
[AlAhram] Two Iraqi planes took off Thursday night for Belarus in order to repatriate Iraqis stuck on the ex-Soviet state's border with Poland, the transport ministry said.

Hundreds of Iraqis, most of them Kurds, returned home last week on a voluntary repatriation flight from Belarus, where thousands of migrants colonists have camped on the border for weeks hoping to enter the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
A first plane carrying 185 people was due to land in Arbil, capital of the autonomous Kurdish region of Iraq, after midnight, Lawk Ghafuri, head of foreign media relations in Kurdistan, told AFP.

On November 18, a total of 431 Iraqis were flown back home from Belarus, many returning with mixed feelings.

Most said they had spent their savings, sold valuables and even took loans to escape economic hardship in Iraq and start a new life in the EU, but they never made it across the border.

The West accuses Belarus of bringing in would-be migrants colonists_mostly from the Middle East_under the false pretence that they will be to cross into EU members Poland and Lithuania.

Belarus has denied the claim and criticised the EU for not taking in the migrants colonists.

Aid groups say at least 11 migrants colonists have died on both sides of the border since the crisis began in the summer, and have criticised the Polish government over its policy of pushing migrants colonists back.

Israel scuffles with Belgium over labeling of settlement goods
[IsraelTimes] Foreign Ministry says requirement to brand exports ’harms Israelis and Paleostinians alike,’ envoy cancels meetings with Belgian officials

Israel lashed out at Belgium Wednesday following a report that Brussels had decided to begin labeling products made in West Bank settlements.

Belgium’s foreign office confirmed Wednesday that the country wants settlement products labeled and that it plans to increase controls on goods coming from Israeli settlements.

In a statement, Israel’s Foreign Ministry said the labeling move was "anti-Israeli" and "harms Israelis and Paleostinians alike."

"It is inconsistent with the Israeli government policy focused on improving the lives of Paleostinians and strengthening the Paleostinian Authority, and with improving Israel’s relations with European countries," the statement said.

Deputy Foreign Minister Idan Roll, who is visiting Belgium, canceled his meetings in the Belgian Foreign Ministry and with Belgian parliamentarians in retaliation.

The decision "strengthens holy warriors, does not help promote peace in the region, and shows Belgium as not contributing to regional stability," Roll said.

The Belgian foreign office said in a statement that it continues to apply international and European law, "which makes a distinction between Israel on one hand and the Paleostinian territories on the other hand."

"We expect that these goods will be labeled correctly by exporters," it said, noting that "we have found that it’s very difficult to confirm the exact origin of products." It noted there was no ban on settlement products.

In 2015, the European Commission adopted regulations barring the labeling of products from areas it considers occupied by Israel as made in Israel, a decision it attributed to the consumer’s right to know the origins of products.

The European Court of Justice in 2019 ruled that products made in settlements must be labeled as such, and may not be marketed as products of Israel.

The European Court of Justice said that when products come from an Israeli settlement, their labels must provide an "indication of that provenance" so that consumers can make "informed choices" when they shop.

The European Commission said it was up to individual EU countries to ensure that labels are correct, but that the origin of settlement produce must be made known in a way that is "not misleading to the consumer."

Israel says the labeling is unfair and discriminatory and says other countries involved in disputes over land are not similarly sanctioned.

Belgium’s move follows a similar step by La Belle France in 2016, which in a non-binding decision urged businesses to use labels to identify goods produced in the Israeli settlements. Israel condemned La Belle France’s decision at the time and a winery located in a West Bank settlement took the matter to court, leading to the 2019 European Court of Justice decision.

Most European countries do not follow the EU directive, however. Israel fears Belgium’s decision to begin labeling the products will again raise the issue in other European countries, Walla reported.

The issue has long been a flashpoint for Israeli diplomacy. Former US president Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
, at the end of his presidency, issued an order requiring products from settlements in the US to be labeled as originating in Israel.

Until former secretary of state Mike Pompeo announced the new policy weeks after ex-president Donald Trump’s election loss, US policy required products made in the West Bank to be labeled as such.

Israeli policy similarly does not differentiate between goods produced on either side of the Green Line.

Three soldiers, 11 jihadists killed in Burkina: army
[AlAhram] Three soldiers and 11 suspected jihadists were killed when an army unit came under fire in northern Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
, the military said on Thursday.

The detachment in Thiou, in the northern province of Yatenga, was attacked early Wednesday, military headquarters said in a statement.

The troops "neutralised 11 terrorists" for the cost of three dead and around 10 maimed, it said, using a term routinely applied to jihadists.

Ground-based reinforcements were brought in, with air support, to evacuate the maimed and secure the area, it added.

group have plagued the landlocked Sahel nation since 2015, killing about 2,000 people and displacing 1.4 million from their homes.

The latest attack brings the number of fatalities among civilians and the security forces in northern Burkina to at least 79 in 11 days.

On November 14, more than 300 fighters aboard pickups and cycle of violences stormed a gendarmerie camp at Inata, according to military sources.

Fifty-three police and four others died, according to official figures. It was the biggest one-day loss among the security forces in the history of the insurgency.

On Sunday, at least nine gendarmes and around 10 non-combatants were killed in Foube.

South Africa

Michigan (USA)

USA
Cases in 28-Day: 2,275,673
Deaths in 28 days: 31,061
A 1.36% to Infection to Death rate.

Note: Since Jan. 2020 the USA Totals are: 48,126,574 claimed infections / 775,797 "Claimed Deaths", or a 1.61% Infection to Death rate.

(source: John Hopkins )

Plus we are also told C-19/21 infections are DOWN -8% nationwide. So I have to ask, given surrounding states don't yet have the same infection rates, and it is just the Michigan area. Which we know is a common relocation point for certain ethic/religious groups.

California's Gavin Newsom Goes on Vacation to Mexico After Extending ‘State of Emergency' Order
[American Greatness] Just one week after declaring that he would extend a statewide "state of emergency" order, California Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) left for a vacation to Mexico with his family, as reported by the Daily Caller.

Newsom, his wife Jennifer, and their children left the state on Monday, and will not return until November 28th. On November 15th, Newsom signed another executive order extending numerous restrictions and other "emergency" measures that he first implemented in March of 2020, as the Chinese coronavirus first began to spread in the United States. Under his latest order, the rules and restrictions now will not expire until March of next year, with the added possibility that they may be arbitrarily extended again.

Despite some of the heaviest restrictions in the nation, including mask and vaccine requirements, California continues to see some of the highest rates of COVID-19 cases out of all the other states. In early November, California saw twice as many new cases as Florida, a state with virtually no restrictions remaining.

Among other measures, California has forced all K-12 students to get a vaccine in order to attend school. Some areas of California, such as San Francisco, require proof of vaccination before entering any private businesses, even for potential customers as young as five years old.

And yet Newsom himself has defied many of his own restrictions. In November of 2020, Newsom was photographed at a large dinner party in the San Francisco-based French Laundry, one of the most expensive restaurants in the state, with everyone grouped together and wearing no masks indoors; among the attendees were lobbyists for the pharmaceutical industry, which drew further outrage from California voters.

The backlash against Newsom culminated in a recall election against him in September. Only the fourth recall election in American history, Newsom ultimately prevailed against a handful of prominent Republican challengers, with the frontrunner being longtime talk radio host Larry Elder. With 62 percent of voters choosing to keep Newsom in office, Newsom became only the second governor in American history to survive a recall election, after Wisconsin’s Scott Walker (R-Wisc.) in 2012.

Russian Duma strips immunity from deputy accused of poaching
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[REGNUM] The State Duma agreed to the deprivation of immunity from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Valery Rashkin, and the initiation of a criminal case against him, a REGNUM correspondent reports on November 25. The decision was made by 341 deputies, 55 were against, two abstained from voting.

The submission was sent to the State Duma by the Prosecutor General's Office. Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov asked the State Duma to agree to prosecute Rashkin under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code, which provides for punishment for illegal hunting committed by a person using his official position or by a group of persons by prior conspiracy or an organized group, or causing particularly large damage.

For this, in particular, a fine is provided in the amount of 500 thousand to one million rubles or imprisonment for a term of three to five years. Particularly large damage is considered to be damage in excess of 120 thousand rubles.

Also, Rashkin can be held administratively liable for refusing a medical examination.

"There can be no talk of any political background here," Krasnov said.

The procedure is necessary to start conducting legal proceedings, for example, conducting interviews, interrogations, and so on.

Earlier, the State Duma commission on mandate issues supported the presentation of the Prosecutor General.

Rashkin is accused of illegal hunting in the Saratov region; an elk carcass was found in the car where the parliamentarian was.

The KPRF considers the "Rashkin case" politically motivated.

"We would have allowed a hundred moose to kill": Zhirinovsky provoked a scandal

[REGNUM] The leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, State Duma Deputy Vladimir Zhirinovsky, explained the support of the Prosecutor General's submission to deprive the deputy of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Valery Rashkin of parliamentary immunity, a REGNUM correspondent reports on November 25.

In general, according to Zhirinovsky, Rashkin did not ask the faction to refuse the Prosecutor General in this matter. Secondly, the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia evaluates the communists not by the killing of this unfortunate elk, but by the general impression of their destructive activities over the past 100 years.

“I have already said: the elk is nonsense. We would have allowed you to kill a hundred moose, but save the lives of millions of our citizens, they are not among us, they are not. And 14,000 killed in the Donbass and in Afghanistan - it's all on your conscience ... Here in this hall Zyuganov forced us to vote for the Treaty of Friendship with Ukraine, he, only the Communists, I was against," Zhirinovsky recalled.

"That is, you are doing everything with criminal intent, you have been torturing for 120 years - from the first Russian revolution to the present day. You have raised the generation that today is following this ... Morgenstern," he is indignant.

"You will never wash yourself off, all of Europe is against you today. This is because of you. You staged Russophobia, you made the whole planet angry," says Zhirinovsky and predict a ban on left-wing parties.

These words of his met with the reaction of the conference room.

"A shame! A shame! A shame!" - chant the "left".

The State Duma gave its consent to the deprivation of immunity of the deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Rashkin.

Court Rejects Suits over Beirut Blast by Former PM, Ministers
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] A top Lebanese court Thursday rejected lawsuits filed by a former prime minister and three ex-ministers seeking to sue the state over the conduct of the judge probing the deadly August 2020 Beirut blast, a senior judicial source told Rooters.

The suits, filed over the past month, had paused Judge Tarek Bitar's investigation but he still remains unable to proceed due to a separate judicial ruling that is still pending, lawyer Nizar Saghieh of watchdog group Legal Agenda told Rooters.

The general assembly of Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...a formerly French, now an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. ...
's Court of Cassation rejected the suits filed by former Prime Minister Hassan Diab and former ministers Nohad Machnouk, Ghazi Zeaiter and Ali Hasan Khalil that alleged "grave mistakes," in the probe.

All have been charged in connection with the blast but have denied any wrongdoing and have refused to be interrogated by Bitar, arguing he does not have the authority to prosecute them.

At the heart of the legal quagmire is criticism from senior Lebanese officials who were in charge when the nearly 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, a highly kaboom used in fertilizers, was stored in the Port of Beirut and kept there for years. Bitar has summoned a dozen bigwigs, charging some with criminal negligence and homicide with probable intent.

On Aug. 4, 2020, the nitrate ignited after a massive fire at the port. The explosion killed over 216 people and injured over 6,000. Parts of Beirut were badly damaged.

Bitar does not give public statements in line with regulations for judges.

Families of Beirut blast victims who have visited Bitar say he told them he would continue to seek to interrogate brass hats until he was removed from the case.

The families rallied Thursday outside Lebanon’s top court against what they say are intentional obstructions to the probe of the devastating blast. They said their message to authorities was: "We are sick of waiting."

According to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, the families said in a statement that the repeated obstructions of the probe was "surprising and shameful."

"The defendants succeeded in drowning the case in a web of politics and judicial complexities," George Bezdjian, a spokesperson for the families, read from the statement. Bezdjian's daughter Jessica, a nurse, was killed in the earth-shattering kaboom.

Bitar's investigation has faced at least 15 lawsuits, each questioning the course of the probe, his impartiality and authority. Most lawsuits were shot down by lower courts.

The probe has also paralyzed the government, after ministers allied with Hezbollah demanded the Cabinet respond to calls for Bitar’s removal.

The families of the blast victims called on the judiciary to allow the probe to resume. To those obstructing the probe, they said: "History will have no mercy on you."

Top Israel Court Rejects Gaza Doctor's Appeal for Damages from 2009 War
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Israel's Supreme Court
rejected Wednesday an appeal from a Paleostinian doctor who sought compensation for the killing of three of his daughters and a niece during the 2008-2009 Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
war.

Izzeldin Abuelaish, a gynecologist who now lives in Canada, filed a civil complaint in 2010 after the January 2009 incident that killed the four young females, ranging in age from 13 to 20.

Israel's top court called the incident a "tragic event" but said it was not awarding compensation because the law affords "substantial immunity" to the state in times of conflict.

"Our heart goes out to the petitioner, a bereaved uncle and father to three girls who were killed prematurely," AFP quoted the court as saying.

"At the same time, the severe consequences caused to the petitioner have no remedy and solution in the process at hand."

Abuelaish, who speaks Hebrew and was educated at Harvard University, worked in an Israeli hospital during the conflict.

The deaths occurred when his family home in Gaza was hit by Israeli tank fire. The case gained attention after he called an Israeli television station shortly after the deaths.

Israel's army had said it was targeting forces of Evil in the area amid the conflict that began after Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, took over the enclave in 2007.

The Abuelaish family has always categorically denied any Hamas members were in the home.

Speaking outside the Jerusalem court last week where his appeal was heard, Abuelaish called on Israel to show "the moral, ethical and human courage" to admit wrongdoing.

"The biggest challenge in our world is individual responsibility. They have to overcome this fear, or arrogance, or greed, or denial. They have to acknowledge it and I am determined," he said.

Speaking to AFP after the appeal was rejected, Abuelaish's lawyer Hussein Abu Hussein said he had advised his client that a legal victory was unlikely given precedents set in similar Israeli cases.

But Abuelaish wanted to "exhaust every possible legal option", the lawyer said.

After moving to Canada with his remaining children following the deaths, Abuelaish wrote a book entitled "I Shall Not Hate" about reconciliation between Israelis and Paleostinians.

Born in Gaza's Jabalia refugee camp, he now teaches public health at the University of Toronto.

Abuelaish had said any damages awarded would be donated to charity and that he was also seeking an apology from Israel over the deaths.

Three Lebanese Judges Resign to Protest 'Political Interference'
[An Nahar] Three Lebanese judges have resigned over interference by politicians in the work of the judiciary, including a probe into last year's Beirut blast, a judicial source said Thursday. In a country where politicians determine judicial appointments, including in top courts, there is little room for the judiciary to work against Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...In 2006 unknown persons blew up Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, the car he was traveling in, the road he was traveling on, and a few innocent bystanders of no account whatsoever. The person or persons unknow weren't Hezbollah, you can bet on that. Really. Even though there was an international tribunal that said it was them...
's ruling elite.

A probe into last year's monster port explosion has exposed the extent of such interference, with brass hats mounting a complex web of court challenges to obstruct the work of lead investigator Tarek Bitar.

On Wednesday three judges, all women, handed in their resignation "to protest ... political interference in the work of the judiciary and the undermining of decisions issued by judges and courts," the judicial source said.

The head of the country's top court has yet to approve the resignations and has called for the matter to be discussed in a meeting, the source added.

The resignations came after officials filed dozens of lawsuits against Bitar as well as other judges processing requests by politicians demanding his removal.

Among those who resigned this week is a judge who turned down a request by an official to remove the investigator.

She was consequently hit with a review questioning the validity of her decision.

"The constant questioning of the judiciary's decisions is tarnishing its reputation," the same court official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

While it is the most prominent, the Beirut blast case is not the only one to fall prey to interference by politicians.

A probe into charges of tax evasion and illicit enrichment brought against Central Bank chief Riad Salameh
...Governor of Lebanon'scentral bank, Banque du Liban since April 1993. Salameh was appointed Governor by decree, approved by the Council of Ministers for a renewable term of six years. He was reappointed for four consecutive terms; in 1999, 2005, 2011 and 2017. Salameh chairs the Banque du Liban Central Council, the Higher Banking Commission, the AML/CFT Special Investigation Commission and the Capital Markets Authority. Salameh is a member of the board of governors at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and at the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF). Salameh is the longest-serving central bank governor in the world....
has also been paused over a lawsuit filed against lead investigator Jean Tannous.

52 die in mine explosion in the Kuzbass
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Kuzbass is in southwest Siberia

By Alexander Kryazhev

[RIA Novosti] According to preliminary data, 52 people, including six rescuers, became victims of the accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine in Kuzbass, an emergency services representative told RIA Novosti.

The reason for the emergency, according to Deputy Prosecutor General Dmitry Demeshin , was a methane explosion caused by a spark and the subsequent dynamic blow that injured the miners.

As part of the investigation, the 47-year-old director of the mine, his 59-year-old first deputy and 36-year-old site manager were detained, according to the UK website.

"It was established that the detainees violated the industrial safety requirements of hazardous production facilities. As a result, a gas-dynamic phenomenon occurred. The smoke of the ventilation drift of section No. 4 began, as a result of which the workers in the mine suffocated," the message says.

A criminal case was opened under the article "Violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence." It can face up to seven years in prison.

The accident at the Listvyazhnaya mine in Kuzbass

On Thursday, at about 08:30 (04:30 Moscow time), an explosion and smoke occurred at the plant located in Belovo . There were 285 people underground at the time of the emergency, most of them were brought to the surface.

According to the regional authorities, 13 people have been examined and are being treated on an outpatient basis, 38 are in hospitals.

The Listvyazhnaya mine belongs to the SDS-Ugol holding , one of the top 3 coal producers in the country, and is developing the reserves of the Egozovo-Krasnoyarsk deposit. The company will provide assistance to the families of the victims.

The region has declared three days of mourning.

According to Boris Rozhin (via Komsomol Pravda, Novosibersk):

"There was gas inside. Absolutely everyone knew about this, of course, the bosses were also aware. But we were forced to go down there by order , '' one of the miners told KP-Novosibirsk (the guy asked not to give his name).

They said: "Work, if something does not suit you - leave." People went to work, money is needed ... Gas and became the reason for the smoke.

Our interlocutor himself says that he considers it a miracle that he survived. Today is his day off, he did not go down to the mine. But one of the miners from his site had to leave on this particular shift.

Egypt sentences 22 terror convicts to death by hanging
Al Ahram for some reason has nothing on this story.
[IsraelTimes] Suspects found guilty of committing 54 jihadist attacks, including the murder of a police brass hat and attempted killing of former interior minister.

An Egyptian court on Thursday sentenced to death by hanging 22 Islamist jihadists for 54 attacks, including the attempted liquidation of a former interior minister, a judicial source told AFP.

The men were found guilty of committing 54 "terrorist operations" across Egypt, including the murder of a police brass hat and an attempt to kill former interior minister Mohammed Ibrahim.

Executions in Egypt for civilians are carried out by hanging. Those sentenced to death include a former police officer, and the verdicts cannot be appealed.

The 22 convicted were found guilty of being members of the Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis group, which pledged its allegiance to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. group in 2014.
...after which they gave themselves the creative name of ISIS in the Sinai Province.
The Court of Cassation, Egypt’s highest appeals court, also upheld prison sentences of 118 others in the same case, ranging from terms of several years to life imprisonment.

Egypt has for years been fighting a bitter insurgency in North Sinai that escalated after the army’s 2013 ouster of Islamist president Mohammed Morsi.

In February 2018, the army and police launched a nationwide operation against bully boyz focused on North Sinai. Around 1,073 suspected jihadists and dozens of security personnel have been killed since the start of operations, according to official figures.

Earlier this month, Egypt agreed with Israel to boost its troop numbers around the border town of Rafah in order to quell IS fighters.

Ansar Beyt al-Maqdis fighters in Sinai were led by Hisham al-Ashmawy, an ex-special forces officer. Ashmawy —- once dubbed Egypt’s "most wanted man" — split from the jihadists after they switched allegiance from al-Qaeda to the Islamic State group.

In 2018, Ashmawy was captured in the eastern Libya city of Derna, and extradited to Cairo. He had been on trial with the 22 men sentenced on Thursday, but had already been found guilty, and was executed in March 2020.

Egypt, the most populous Arab country, recorded the third most executions in the world — behind China and Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
— according to Amnesia Amnesty International. In 2020, Egyptian authorities executed at least 107 people, Amnesty said.

Analyst: System in US 'must be overthrown to achieve justice' for Black people
[Iran Press TV] The system in the United States "must be tossed to achieve justice for African Americans," African American writer and journalist Abayomi Azikiwe says.
Detroit organizer of the Workers World Party and editor of the Pan-African Newswire
The Workers World Party is a revolutionary Marxist–Leninist-Trotskyist political party in the United States founded in 1959 by a group led by Sam Marcy of the Socialist Workers Party.
Azikiwe, an editor at the Pan-African News Wire, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Thursday while commenting on a statement by US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. I'm not working for you. Don't be such a horse's ass. Don't say he didn't warn us...
who said the verdict that found the three white men charged in the death of African American Ahmaud Arbery guilty of multiple counts of murder was not enough.

"While the guilty verdicts reflect our justice system doing its job, that alone is not enough. Instead, we must recommit ourselves to building a future of unity and shared strength, where no one fears violence because of the color of their skin," Biden said in a statement.

He said his administration "will continue to do the hard work to ensure that equal justice under law is not just a phrase emblazoned in stone above the Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
, but a reality for all Americans."

On Wednesday, all three white men charged in the killing of Arbery, an unarmed 25-year-old Black Moslem man, were convicted of murder by a jury in the state of Georgia.

All three defendants were convicted of murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and criminal intent to commit a felony. They face a minimum sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Travis McMichael, 35, who fatally shot Arbery, was convicted on all nine charges, including malice, murder and four counts of felony murder.

McMichael's father, Gregory McMichael, 65, was convicted on the remaining charges, including the felony murder counts. McMichael's neighbor, William "Roddie" Bryan, was also found guilty of three of the felony murder counts.

Prosecutors have said that they intend to seek life in prison without parole for the three defendants.

Marine to sue Wal-Mart for Refusing to fill Prescription for life-saving Ivermectin
[GatewayPundit] BLUF: Doctors are intimidated into refusing to prescribe Ivermectin, and pharmacists are not permitted by their companies to fill it, even though it worked beautifully in this case. Concerned not only for himself but for his wife about to slip into the pain and suffering of the virus, he remembered a contact to Steve Deace, a national talk show host working with the Blaze radio network. From there, Deace put Salier in touch with Dr. Mollie James. Dr. James has been a COVID whistleblower trying to bring the public’s attention to the politicized nature of specific medical treatments: that life-saving affordable drugs exist to stop the effects of COVID and can also turn the tide in dying patients to bring them back from the abyss.

Dr. James diagnosed that Bill was in severe distress, but that wife Karla was also at great risk. She prescribed Ivermectin for both of them and Hydroxychloroquine for Bill.

So even if the prescribing doctor had the stuff in her office, her office is in New York City while the patient is in Iowa.

European court rules against Turkey on post-coup jailing of judges
[Rudaw] A European court on Tuesday said that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

had violated the rights of more than 400 judges and prosecutors by holding them in pre-trial detention in the wake of the 2016 coup attempt and ordered Ankara to pay compensation.

The European Court of Human Rights ruled unanimously that Turkey violated the rights of 427 judges and prosecutors "on account of the unlawfulness of the initial pre-trial detention of the applicants."

The judges and prosecutors were arrested as part of a purge across Turkey’s government institutions and military after the failed coup against President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First

More than 4,000 judges and prosecutors were accused of membership in the Gulen movement, named a terrorist organization in Turkey, and dismissed from their posts. The majority of them were subsequently convicted on the terror charge.

The court ordered Turkey to pay each applicant 5,000 euros in damages.

Turkey has not immediately commented on the ruling.

Killing of another RSS worker shows how deep rooted Islamic radicalisation is in Kerala
[OneIndia] A member of an extremist Islamist group has been arrested in connection with the murder of an RSS worker's murder in Kerala. The officer bearer of the Popular Front of India has not been named as yet since his identification parade has to first take place as per the norms of investigation.

R Viswanath, district police chief told reporters that the accused was directly involved in the murder of A Sanjith at Mabaram. More arrests will take place soon, the police chief also said.

Sanjith aged 27 was hacked to death on November 15 while he was taking his wife to her workplace.

The police also said that they have three persons into custody. The SDPI has however rejected all allegations.

Sanjith was waylaid by a gang when he was travelling with his wife. The BJP's district president, K M Haridas has blamed the Social Democratic Party of India, the political wing of the Popular Front of India for incident. The police said that Sanjith had received more than 50 stab wounds. Following the incident security has been increased in view of the rising tensions. Further investigation is underway.

The state president of the BJP K Surendran met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and sought a probe by the National Investigation Agency. He said that in the last 5 years, 10 BJP-RSS workers were killed in the state. He also alleged that 50 Sangh Parivar activists had also been killed.

The killing of Hindu activists in Kerala has been a cause for concern. The Intelligence Bureau has often flagged concerns about the radicalisation in the state. NIA officials probing the Kerala ISIS case say that the prime concern is that all those who have left for the ISIS in Afghanistan are educated. The officer says that a person by the name Shihas had played a major role in building up the module. He had managed to rope in several persons including one Nashidhul, who was initially opposed to the ideology of the ISIS.

During investigations, the NIA learnt that the brainwashing was so strong that many who did not subscribe to the view of the outfit ended up getting convinced. They are repeatedly told that as Muslims they are livi

Malaysia not allowing Israelis at squash world championship, governing body says
[IsraelTimes] World Squash Federation says it seeks ’open and inclusive’ tournament, is in contact with Moslem country’s authorities in hopes for ’fair and practical solution’

Malaysia is refusing to grant visas for Israeli players to participate in the squash world championship next month, the sport’s governing body has said, sparking anger in the Jewish state.

It is the latest instance of the Moslem-majority Southeast Asian nation, which has no diplomatic relations with Israel, attempting to bar its athletes from the country.

The World Team Championship for men is due to take place in Kuala Lumpur from December 7-12, with 26 squads participating.

But the World Squash Federation (WSF) said it had "been made aware that, at present, the Malaysian authorities have not accepted yet to provide visas for the Israel squash team."

"The WSF is committed to the principle of open and inclusive world championships in which all member nations who wish to participate are welcome to do so," the governing body said in a statement to AFP.

The WSF added it was in contact with Malaysia’s squash body and hoped that "a fair and practical solution can be achieved."

Israelis are barred from visiting the South Asian country, where the Paleostinian cause enjoys widespread support. Malaysia’s former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad once said he was "glad to be labeled antisemitic," and defended repeated remarks that Jews are "hook-nosed."

The Israel Squash Association said it plans to turn to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
if the WSF can’t resolve the issue.

"It’s a shame that they are mixing sports with politics," association chairman Aviv Bushinsky told AFP. "Those who close their eyes — all the countries that participate and let something like that happen — they allow racism and discrimination to take place in sports."

The Squash Racquets Association of Malaysia, the country’s squash organization, declined to comment.

In an earlier comment, responding to a request by WSF President Gerard Monteiro, the head of the Malaysian squash organization had said the country "would not be able to guarantee [Israeli players’] safety and well-being."

Israel’s Minister of Sport and Culture Chili Tropper said in a statement earlier this week: "I find it impossible to believe that in this modern era, there is still a place for discrimination, as well as the mixing of political considerations and sport."

The tournament was earlier this year moved to Malaysia from New Zealand because of coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)

-related travel restrictions.

In 2019, Malaysia was stripped of the right to host the World Para Swimming Championships for threatening to refuse Israeli athletes.

In 2015, Israeli windsurfers had to pull out of a competition on the island of Langkawi after being refused visas.

Israel to give Gaza Christians entry permits for Christmas holiday
[IsraelTimes] Some 500 of the Strip’s 1,000-strong minority allowed to travel to Israel and the West Bank for the holiday season as Israel eases restrictions

Israeli authorities said Wednesday that they will permit 500 members of the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks.
Strip’s tiny Christian community to enter Israel and the West Bank to celebrate Christmas.

Israel has in the past allowed Gazooks to exit the blockaded territory for Christmas, though the practice was frozen last year due to the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
pandemic.

Movement out of Gaza also has been restricted since an 11-day war last May between Israel and the territory’s Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, rulers. In recent months, however, Israel has begun to ease some of the restrictions, granting several thousand Gazooks permits to work inside Israel as part of quiet, Egyptian attempts to broker a long-term cease-fire.

COGAT, the Israeli defense body responsible for Paleostinian civilian affairs, announces the permits allowing people to visit relatives and holy sites in Israel and the West Bank. It said it is also increasing access to Jerusalem for Christians in the West Bank and allowing some 200 Gazook Christians to travel through Israel to Jordan for journeys abroad.

Bethlehem, revered by Christians as the birthplace of Christ, is in the West Bank. The town is heavily dependent on tourism, but officials fear there will be few visitors this year due to the lingering effects of the pandemic.

About 1,000 Christians live in Gaza, a tiny fraction of the territory’s 2 million people. Most are Greek Orthodox, with Catholics making up about a quarter of the small community.

The ruling Hamas terror group has designated the Christians a protected minority. There had been a few attacks targeting Christians by Islamic zealots in the early years of Hamas’ takeover, but the Islamic movement has since worked to ensure such attacks don’t happen.

Israel and Egypt have maintained a tight blockade over Gaza since Hamas took control of the territory in 2007 in a bloody coup, in a bid to try try and stop the terror group from importing arms and materials to build fortifications. Residents require permits to leave the territory.

Morning bomb blast targets security firm guarding UN offices in Somalia
[Garowe] A massive explosion in Mogadishu, the Somali capital, left eight people dead, police said, in the latest wave of violence instigated by holy warriors in a country that has struggled with instability for over three decades.

An eyewitness told Garowe Online that a brief shootout followed the earth-shattering kaboom in the capital during morning rush hours in the city. The explosion, another witness said, took place at 7:30 am local time in the country.

The blast took place in the area of the former Abdiqasim presidential palace, targeting a convoy of a local security firm guarding UN offices, police noted. The officers however, didn't indicate if any UN staff member was affected.

According to the police, 17 people were critically injured as officers moved around the scene to comb the area before giving official report. Such explosions targeting members of security forces are common in the Horn of Africa nation.

The al-shabaab Death Eaters have since taken responsibility for the earth-shattering kaboom. al-Shabaab

...Arabic for students...
, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...

media reported that the group is responsible for the earth-shattering kaboom, adding that it was a suicide boom-mobile which targeted a convoy escorting "white officers" travelling from General Gordon training camp.

The al-shabaab Death Eaters are well known for such attacks, targeting members of security forces, government officials and even innocent civilians. The al-Qaeda linked group has killed thousands of people since 2007.

The scene of the morning blast showed the destruction of buildings along the K4-Tarabunka road in Mogadishu with reports that civilians, including students, were maimed in the attack. Rescue operations are currently underway in the capital.

Photos show Mocaasir school almost destroyed by the earth-shattering kaboom. A health worker described what happened as "tragedy", adding that security forces and other groups had activated emergency services in the scene of the earth-shattering kaboom.

Previously, the al-shabaab Death Eaters have been targeting various convoys especially those for the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Mission Forces and the Ottoman Turkish nationals. The group accuses troops of targeting civilians in their operations.

AU forces have been helping the SNA troops liberate a number of towns across the country and are often targeted by the Death Eaters. al-shabaab Death Eaters often target crowded areas within the capital besides taking at security forces in operations.

The attack comes at the time Somalia and AU are still in talks on the future of AMISOM within the country. While AU wants a hybrid mission with United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
, Mogadishu has been pushing for a reconfigured AMISOM.

A subsequent Garowe article about international condemnation mentions the car bomb blew up near a school at Hodan district and that Al Shabaab targetted a group traveling from General Gordon's training camp.

43 killed in clashes in Sudan's restive Darfur: UN
[AlAhram] At least 43 people have been killed in days of fighting between herders in Sudan's western Darfur region that has also seen more than 1,000 homes set on fire, the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
said Thursday.

The violence broke out on November 17 between armed Arab herders
...we used to call them the Janjaweed, allied to the Sudanese government, but nowadays they’ve splintered into a number of groups and rebelled against the government. They still raid the Black farmers for fun and profit, despite both groups being convinced Muslims...
in the rugged Jebel Moon mountains close to the border with Chad, said Omar Abdelkarim, Sudan's Humanitarian Aid Commissioner in West Darfur state.

"Initial reports indicate that at least 43 people have been killed, 46 villages have been burned and looted, and an unknown number of people were maimed due to ongoing fighting," according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, or OCHA.

The majority of the 4,300 people affected by the violence have been displaced, it said.

Abdelkarim said some had fled west and were seeking safety across the border in Chad.

West Darfur governor Khamis Abdallah said the violence was sparked by "a dispute over camel looting", and that "military reinforcements have been sent to the area and the situation has stabilised".

The Jebel Moon mountain area is largely inhabited by communities of farmers and animal herders, with an estimated population of around 66,500 people.

Darfur was ravaged by a civil war that erupted in 2003, pitting ethnic minority rebels who complained of discrimination against the Arab-dominated government of then president Omar al-Bashir
...Former President-for-Life of Sudan He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself head cheese. He fell out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Hee was overthrown by popular consent in 2019. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it...
More than 300,000 people died and 2.5 million were displaced during the conflict, according to the UN.

Bashir, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of genocide in Darfur, was ousted and locked away
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
in April 2019 after mass protests against his three-decade rule.

While the main conflict in Darfur has subsided, with a peace deal struck with key rebel groups last year, the arid region has remained awash with weapons and violence often erupts over land, access to agriculture or water.

A UN peacekeeping mission ended its mandate in Darfur last year.

The latest festivities come against a backdrop of political turbulence, as Sudan reels from the aftermath of a military coup last month that drew wide international condemnation and sparked mass protests.

On October 25, top general Abdel Fattah al-Burhan overthrew the country's post-Bashir transitional government and detained the civilian leadership.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok was freed from effective house arrest and reinstated, after signing a deal with Burhan that was viewed by critics as "whitewashing" the military takeover.

#1  In the 1980a drought persisted in Darfur and Khartoum responded by initiating an extensive well-drilling program. It was similar to programs then being undertaken in Chad and drought-stricken Africa. In Darfur the well-drilling projects were both an ecological disaster and a political mistake. The deep wells attracted camel and cattle nomads who, in turn, began to invade the land settled by villagers and sedentary farmers dependent on seasonal rainfall. Ironically, the deep wells influenced villagers to herd goats and sheep, something few had bothered with before. In time a wide circle of overgrazed land surrounded the deep wells. Gazelle, rabbit and fox vanished. As drought continued pasturage for cattle and camel nomads was harder to find; competition for land led ineluctably to inter-tribal and inter-ethnic conflicts. The pattern of man against nature and tribe against tribe continues today in northern Darfur, and has even spread to the south.

Europe
Relics & Ordnance
From a WWII archeological group in eastern Europe, mainly in Latvia
By Steve Newman and Hans Sogndal-Valeskog

[LegendaArcheology] Of course digging on wartime fields is an inherently dangerous thing to do and live ordnance litters the fields and forests and needs to be handled with care and by experts.

Latvian Police and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) are usually on site with us for major expeditions or come out to us if called, but its fair to say on pretty much every occasion live ordnance will be found.

Certain types of shell are far more dangerous than others and EOD will look at each one, where it is, how it is lying and decide whether to recover or destroy on site. We have often been called in to use our detectors to help find ordnance on sites such as school fields or building sites where a controlled recovery or disposal is far safer than a JCB hitting something during construction.

The group also finds many examples of unusual or unique items of dangerous ordnance. When these are collected by EOD and taken away for defusing many of the items will end up with the Latvian Army EOD Training School where examples of items built to kill can be used now to educate and can help save lives.

Relics of course are widely scattered still, although recently more interest in detecting has started to reduce the amount of easily recoverable items. Ask any of our group what is the best find they could make and all will answer ‘something that gives a missing soldier his identity back’, but most relics are not with soldiers or graves.

As explained above the reason we search general areas with a metal detector is that every now and again a relic helmet or rifle can still be with the soldier lying just a few inches under the ground, or a chance find can lead to a mass burial or field cemetery but most times items we find were just discarded and classed simply as useless war junk but other times unusual finds can be made.

Detecting though on hard fought battlefields is tough going. You have to unlearn everything you ever knew from detecting on peaceful fields in the UK countryside. Thousands of pieces of shrapnel litter every field, small Russian PPSH-41 machine gun cartridge cases are everywhere and the joke is there isn’t a single field in Latvia that doesn’t have some… and if there is we are yet to find it!

However, amongst the thousands of pieces of debris interesting things do still lie about. Many items by law have to be handed in to the local authorities, others we loan or donate to museums a few are kept by the group for its education and museum purposes but much goes for scrap being beyond recognition or interest.

Over the past 20 years the group has recovered some 20,000 soldiers, all are now buried in their national cemeteries or returned home to family plots. There are still tens of thousands more to find and across the whole Eastern Front, millions.

How long will it continue for, well for all of us as long as we are physically able too but time is against us as ground conditions eat away at ID tags, and legends and memories are lost and fade away, so at some point in the future only the ghosts will remain.

They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
this year until November 23 as many as 148 forces of Evil have been shot full of holes by the security forces. Of this, 127 were locals, data by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) shows.

Further the data also shows that of the 199 active forces of Evil in the Valley, 110 are locals and 89 are foreigners. 97 of the active forces of Evil were recruited into The Resistance® Front (TRF) this year. The TRF, an offshoot of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba had grabbed credit for the killings of the civilians this year.

In the year 2020 178 forces of Evil joined the ranks of which 121 were shot full of holes. In 2019, the recruitments stood at 117.

To combat terror, the CRPF has deployed over 65,000 personnel in Jammu and Kashmir. In addition the compensation for the next of kin of those killed in action has been enhanced from Rs 21.5 lakh
...1 lakh = 100,000...
to Rs 35 lakh. For those who bit the dust for other reasons, the compensation stands at Rs 25 lakh from the earlier 16.5 lakh.

This year the CRPF lost 11 of its personnel of which 3 were in Jammu and Kashmir and 8 in areas affected by Left Wing terror. In all the CRPF has 3 lakh personnel.

93 asylum seekers evacuated from Libya to Italy: UNHCR
[AlAhram] A group of 93 asylum seekers stuck in Libya were evacuated to Italia on Thursday in the first flight of its kind in two years, the UN refugee agency said.

The flight to Rome is one of five planned evacuation airlifts organized by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, or UNHCR.

A total of 500 asylum seekers would be evacuated over a year "under a new mechanism for humanitarian admissions", the agency said in a statement.

The last evacuation flight to Italia was in 2019.

Those flown out of Tripoli

on Thursday included "children, women at risk, survivors of violence and torture, and people with serious medical conditions", the UNHCR said.

"We are pleased to see these evacuation flights become a reality and that the Libyan authorities have supported them," Jean-Paul Cavalieri, the UNHCR's chief of mission in Libya, was quoted as saying in the statement.

He described the flights as "a lifeline for some of the most vulnerable asylum seekers".

"Conditions in Libya remain dire for many refugees," Cavalieri added, calling on the international community to open up other humanitarian routes.

In late October, Libya authorized the resumption of humanitarian flights that had been suspended for nearly a year, allowing dozens of refugees and asylum seekers to relocate to other countries.

The UNHCR also operated evacuation flights for those who wished to be resettled back in their home countries voluntarily.

On November 4, the agency evacuated 172 asylum seekers from Libya to Niger, as part of its emergency transit mechanisms, whereby they are hosted in the country until their refugee claims are processed.

Since 2017, the agency has evacuated or resettled some 6,919 refugees and asylum seekers who were in Libya. Of those, a total of 967 were evacuated to Italia.

Admiral Kulit: al-Nusra prepared provocations using chemical weapons
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[NewsFrontInfo] Vadim Kulit, deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties, said that the militants of the terrorist group Jebhat al-Nusra in Idlib were preparing a provocation with chemical weapons.

He noted that the terrorists were storing containers with toxic substances in an underground shelter near the city of Sarmada, Idlib province.
