[Breitbart] The FBI conducted 187,585 National Instant Criminal Background System (NICS) checks on gun sales and transfers on Black Friday 2021 alone.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) reports the Black Friday 2021 NICS checks surpassed those of 2020, which came in at 186,645.
Moreover, NSSF noted that the FBI performed a total of 687,788 NICS checks during the entire week, including those on Black Friday.
NSSF president Joe Bartozzi commented on the tremendous number of background checks conducted last week:
This figure of over 687,000 background checks is truly remarkable. This year has already been shaping up to be the second strongest year for firearm sales on record, second only to 2020’s record-breaking number of 21 million background checks for a firearm sale. We anticipate, based on annual data, that firearm sales will rise during the final month of the year coinciding with hunting seasons and holiday sales. This figure, though, underscores the appetite for lawful firearm ownership in America and the resilience of the firearm and ammunition industry to meet that demand.
Background checks have been relatively high during 2021, with the number of NICS checks in October proving the be the second-highest number of checks ever for the month of October.
Breitbart News noted similar data for September 2021, which came in with the second-most NICS checks of any September in history.
There were 2,626,389 NICS checks conducted in September, second only to the 2,892,115 conducted in September 2020.
August 2021 and July 2021 both witnessed the second-highest number of NICS checks for their respective months as well.

[FoxBusinessNews] Treasury plans to move money from some states, localities to those with backlogs of requests
The Treasury Department is redirecting rental-assistance money from some states and localities that haven’t used the bulk of their funds to others facing backlogs of aid requests, according to administration officials.
The officials said they couldn’t specify which jurisdictions would lose and gain funds. But they said those with large amounts of unused funds include rural states—like Montana and North Dakota—while local officials in several more populous states—like New York and Texas—are expected to exhaust their rental-assistance money over the coming week and months.
Officials said an initial reallocation, set to be unveiled in early December, could exceed $800 million and come at the request of states and localities that acknowledge they have more money than they can spend. Much of that money may be moved within states, rather than from one state to another—for instance, from a state-run program to a city-run program, or vice versa.
By the end of the year, the administration expects as much as $20 billion of the $47 billion in rental-assistance funding Congress authorized to be spent. An additional $5 billion to $10 billion will be committed to a specific tenant or landlord but not yet distributed.
"There is less unspent money today than there was six months ago, but we’re still committed to make sure that the money that is unspent gets reallocated as quickly as possible," said Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo. "There is a need to make sure that we get this money to tenants who need it."
The rental-assistance program got off to a slow start this year. Though just a fraction of the aid was distributed before a national eviction moratorium ended this summer, more money is now finding its way to tenants and landlords.
While the program is overseen by the Treasury Department, it relies on a patchwork of more than 450 state, county, and municipal governments and charitable organizations to distribute the aid, which can be used to cover back rent, future rent, and utilities.
It took states and localities months to build new programs from scratch, hire staff, and craft rules for how the money should be distributed. Often, tenants and landlords didn’t know money was available, and many of those who applied had to contend with cumbersome applications and requests for documentation. Treasury officials issued guidance to ease the paperwork burden and boost the flow of money to renters and landlords.
The first $25 billion in the rental-assistance program was included in a pandemic aid package signed by then-President Donald Trump in December. Congress appropriated another $21.6 billion in March.
Treasury won’t begin to reallocate money from the second, $21.6 billion pot of money until March.

[Republic Brief] Organizers of the "Stop the Steal" rally that preceded the deadly Capitol attack on Jan. 6 allegedly communicated with members of former President Trump’s family and administration, according to Rolling Stone magazine.
Multiple sources told Rolling Stone that Kylie Kremer, an organizer for the rally that took place at D.C.’s Ellipse park, had an aide buy three burner phones a few days before Jan. 6. Kremer said that it was "of the utmost importance" that the phones be purchased with cash, one source, who was a member of the March for Trump team, told the magazine.
Kremer kept one of the phones herself, while another was reportedly given to her mother, Amy Kremer, who was also an organizer of the rally. Sources could not say who the third was given to.

As we've written previously, the left is committed to certain Larger Truths, and they'll flog them relentlessly — even when the various particulars don't support them. The reverse is also true: Realities that run counter to the Larger Truths, or that might vindicate or empower the Bad People, are played down, ignored, or memory-holed. Eight days ago, there was a massacre in the heartland. As that horror unfolded at an annual Christmas parade, social media exploded with outrage and speculation, with various observers eager to pin the blame on their political opponents. Once details began to emerge, and the alleged perpetrator was identified, the big media machine ground to a halt, and the would-be deluge was reduced to a trickle. What likely would have been hyped as a massive national story with endless implications (think Charlottesville but with a substantially higher body count) instantly became a minor, if tragic, disturbance. A local news story. And even some left-leaning local news outlets didn't seem too excited about dwelling on it too much:

[BBC] MI6 chief Richard Moore has warned of China's "debt traps and data traps" in his first live broadcast interview.
Mr Moore - known as "C" - told BBC Radio 4's Today programme these traps threatened to erode sovereignty and have prompted defensive measures.
He denied the fall of Afghan capital Kabul was an intelligence failure and signalled closer ties with tech giants.
The decision to speak more openly about his work was important in a modern democracy, the ex-secret agent said.
In a wide-ranging interview ahead of his first major public speech since taking on the role as head of MI6, Mr Moore:
warned China has the capability to "harvest data from around the world" and uses money to "get people on the hook"
admitted the assessment of the Taliban's progress in Afghanistan this summer was "clearly wrong" - but denied Kabul's fall was an "intelligence failure"
described a "chronic problem" with Russia and Ukraine - with Russia posing an "acute threat" to the UK
supported closer links with technology partners and speeding-up the vetting process for new tech-savvy recruits
Speaking about the threat posed by China, Mr Moore described its use of "debt traps and data traps".
He said Beijing is "trying to use influence through its economic policies to try and sometimes, I think, get people on the hook".
Explaining the "data trap", he said: "If you allow another country to gain access to really critical data about your society, over time that will erode your sovereignty, you no longer have control over that data.
"That's something which, I think, in the UK we are very alive to and we've taken measures to defend against."

A bomb that was planted on the main road in Police District six of the Afghan capital wounded five people including the Taliban fighters but the Taliban have not commented on the casualties.
The bomb has targeted a car of the Taliban fighters in the Darulaman area of Kabul.
Spokesperson of the ministry of interior Affairs Saeed Khostai confirmed the explosion but denied any financial loss and casualties.
He said the bomb was planted on the road but eyewitnesses said that a magnetic bomb has exploded.
On the other hand, the spokesperson of the police headquarter of Kabul General Mobin said there are casualties but has not disclosed the exact number of people killed or wounded.
No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion yet.
It is worth mentioning that ISIS-K has been targeting the Taliban fighters since they recapture power on August 15.

At least two people were injured in a blast that occurred in Kabul’s Police District 6 on Tuesday morning, officials said.
General Mobin, spokesman of Kabul security department, said the explosion was due to a mine placed in the area.
No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
The Taliban were also not interested in reconciliation, being aimed at conquest by nature as well as intent. So it isn’t fair to blame President Ghani for understanding that he was between the rock of American insistance on pointless forms while the Talibs negotiated in bad faith. A taste:

EX-GOVT STRUCTURE AND FALL
During an exclusive interview with Pajhwok Afghan News, Dr. FarooqAzam said the previous government was formed by foreigners and came into power soon after the US invasion of Afghanistan. That government was never for the people of Afghanistan.
“President Bush said they will reconstruct Afghanistan through a master plan, but current US president Joe Biden recently said they never came to Afghanistan for reconstruction and nation-building. Whatever support they provided has ended after their withdrawal such as they provided millions of dollars for election but every election was shameful then the other one. You would have never watched in the world that two presidents shall take oath at the same time and at the same place. US spent billions of dollars on good governance and army but it never empowered institutions,” he said.
Azam believed the Taliban did not much contribute to the collapse of the previous US backed government but people in the previous government themselves caused the destruction of the system.
He said: “Previous Afghan government officials said US will not pull out from Afghanistan, Obama and Trump, however, stressed over the withdrawal of their forces but the Afghan government was not pleased with this decision and they never had preparations. When US government finally decided they will pull out that decision hampered the morale of government and whatever cash was available there the government itself looted it. A system that could have fallen after two years fell just within few months.”
The formation of interim government was mentioned in the Doha Agreement but the Kabul regime was not ready for such arrangement because the system was so week here and there was heavy fighting underway nation-wide. He said Ghani might not intentionally leave the country but he was forced to do so.
He added sometimes an individual did not want to do something but something suddenly happens and it favours you. He said Ghani might not want to leave the country but that helped end the war.
He said the previous government was not honest in Doha talks, the delegation had no agenda for ceasefire therefore they lost the opportunity for peaceful transition and the current crisis is due that failure.

The Liaison Committee on Medical Education, which accredits all medical schools in North America, is cosponsored by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Association for Medical Colleges (AAMC)—the same groups that on Oct. 30 released a controversial guide to "advancing health equity" through "language, narrative, and concepts."
Those concepts include the ideas that "individualism and meritocracy" are "malignant narratives" that "create harm," that using race as a proxy for genetics "leads directly to racial health inequities," and that medical vulnerability is the "result of socially created processes" rather than biology.
Integrating these ideas into medicine, five professors and practicing doctors told the Washington Free Beacon, would be a catastrophe, resulting in underqualified doctors, missed diagnoses, and unscientific medical school curricula.
The guidance won't just influence the way doctors talk, these practitioners said, but also what they know and how they treat patients. It could even make them unwilling to screen racial minorities for serious conditions—including many types of cancer—that they are more likely to inherit, on the mistaken belief that genes play no role in racial health disparities.
"Some vulnerability isn't about economic or social marginalization," said Jeff Singer, a general surgeon in Arizona. "A lot of conditions"—such as Tay-Sachs, which disproportionately impacts Ashkenazi Jews, and triple-negative breast cancer, which disproportionately affects black women—"vary based on genetics. We’re talking about matters of life and death here."
Singer's warning echoes the argument that five black professors in March made in the New England Journal of Medicine, where they described genetic denialism as "a form of naive ’color blindness'" that would "perpetuate and potentially exacerbate disparities."
The guide is part of an ongoing and controversial effort to institutionalize progressivism as public health's lingua franca. It was "deeply informed" by the "Inclusive Communication" guide that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published in September, as well as by the AMA's "Strategic Plan to Embed Racial Justice and Advance Health Equity" published in May. A few members of the AMA this month spoke out against that plan, arguing that it amounted to racial discrimination, while others said the AMA's focus on language would alienate patients and inject ideology into medicine.

Ref #2 above, and to #1’s point,the absence of a plea deal and the defense opening statement tells me that she never had or got control of the video and audio recordings from the various honeytrap sites. Absent any proof she is going to be playing a very weak hand. If the whole Epstein lashup was an intelligence operation by some ally, maybe there is a McGaiver planned at the backend?

[IsraelTimes] The Men’s World Team Squash Championship has been canceled, due to host Malaysia’s refusal to grant visas to Israel’s team, the World Squash Federation (WSF) announces.
Israel had asked the body to intervene after Malaysian authorities did not grant them visas. Israelis are barred from visiting the South Asian country.
In a joint statement with Malaysia’s squash federation, SRAM, the WSF says the cancelation is due to "the possibility that some nations would be unable to compete, due to the lack of confirmation over the issuing of visas and travel authorizations by the National Authorities."
WSF President Zena Wooldridge says her organization is "extremely disappointed" to make the announcement.

Authorities in New York's Long Island are investigating a blast that left a crater and was felt miles away Sunday. Police are working with the FBI on the probe, to determine whether it could have been a prelude to something bigger.
The Suffolk County Police Department said the explosion occurred on Fox Island, off the coast of West Babylon, around 11:40 a.m. when a device was detonated. Authorities received nearly three dozen 911 calls, the department told Fox News.
No injuries were reported. Fox News has reached out to the FBI.
Investigators are not ruling out the idea that the incident may have been a test run for something bigger, such as a possible terrorist attack.
"Terrorism is always a concern because people do test devices before using them," a police spokeswoman told Fox News. "The SCPD is investigating with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force on this investigation."
The blast left a crater on the north side of the island that measured 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep. Authorities are seeking a boat seeing leaving from the area at the time. It was described as 23 feet long with stripes.
Investigators have ruled out a sonic boom by an aircraft.

I'm sure the FBI and the rest are panicking that they might actually have to do the job they're supposed to do.
Though my cynical nature tells me the vermin at the FBI will only find these guys AFTER they do whatever it is they plan to, assuming it's not all part of the FBI's typical terrorism plot. 10 agents, one patsy, with the FBI supplying all the weapons and kaboomite.
At this point, given how many times these things have come up, I can believe the FBI doing terrorism to 'cow' the masses to the wishes of their Nazi Democrat masters. Honestly, I've reached the point where the FBI ARE my first suspects in these things.

"Truly, the impact of this mandate reaches far beyond COVID," Schelp wrote. "CMS seeks to overtake an area of traditional state authority by imposing an unprecedented demand to federally dictate the private medical decisions of millions of Americans. Such action challenges traditional notions of federalism."
Schelp also labeled the mandate "arbitrary and capricious," arguing that CMS "lacks evidence showing that vaccination status has a direct impact on spreading COVID" in the covered health care facilities; the agency has primarily pointed to data from long-term care facilities in its defense.
"No one questions that protecting patients and health care workers from contracting COVID is a laudable objective," he wrote. "But the court cannot, in good faith, allow CMS to enact an unprecedented mandate that lacks a 'rational connection between the facts found and the choice made.'"

[Garowe] Æthiopia's army has retaken the town of Chifra in the Afar region, the state-run broadcaster said on Sunday, its first major seizure from rebellious Tigrayan forces since Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed appeared on the frontlines two days ago.
The Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) captured Chifra, on the border between the northern Afar and Amhara regions, after fighting intensified last month between Æthiopian troops and forces loyal to the TPLF.
"Æthiopian Defense Forces and Afar Special Forces have controlled Chifra," the Æthiopian Broadcasting Corporation said on its Twitter account.
It did not give further details.
Rooters was not able to independently verify the report. Government spokesperson Legesse Tulu and TPLF spokesperson Getachew Reda did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Chifra is west of the town of Mille, which Tigrayan forces have been trying to capture for weeks because it lies along the highway linking landlocked Æthiopia to Djibouti, the Horn of Africa's main port.
State-affiliated Fana Broadcasting reported on Friday that Abiy was on the frontline with the army fighting the Tigrayan forces in Afar.
"The moral of the army is very exciting," he said in the remarks broadcast on Friday, promising to capture Chifra town "today".
Thousands of civilians have been killed and millions displaced by fighting since the war erupted in Tigray last November.
Tigrayan forces were initially beaten back, but recaptured most of the region in July and pushed into neighbouring Amhara and Afar, displacing hundreds of thousands more people.

The first line of Hochul’s blurb regarding her state-of-emergency declaration reads, "Governor Kathy Hochul today announced urgent action to boost hospital capacity and address staffing shortages ahead of potential spikes in COVID-19 cases this upcoming winter."
Maybe firing all those heroes filthy, unvaccinated healthcare workers two months ago wasn’t such a good idea. In fact, it was downright idiotic. It makes me wonder if she got her COVID acumen from reading Cuomo’s "COVID leadership" book. Or perhaps she just wants to beat Cuomo’s serial-killer toll of 15,000 dead New Yorkers.
Hochul seems a bit too eager to flex her totalitarian muscle. If there are no Omicron cases, why worry? In her blurb, she claims that "It’s coming" and mentions "warning signs" of COVID spikes. New York is currently averaging 27 China flu deaths per day. Florida is averaging zero. Again, lockdowns don’t work.
Hochul’s declaration means that the Department of Health will have the authority to limit the number of non-essential health-related procedures in hospitals with limited bed capacity, which is 10% or less.
