CNN Lost Another 38% Of Viewers In 2021
Remember the old Miller Lite commercials? "Tastes Great! Less Viewers!"
[Zero Hedge] - CNN managed a remarkable feat in 2021. The network, currently reeling from a spate of pedophilia related allegations among its staff, succeeded in losing ANOTHER 38 percent of its viewership.

According to Nielsen data, CNN saw the massive drop in weekday prime-time viewership, while MSNBC saw a 25 percent drop in viewership for the same time slots.

The data shows that on average there are 919,000 Americans watching MSNBC, while only 787,000 are still watching CNN.

At this rate the networks will soon be out of business.

At this point, anyone still watching CNN has to be either completely brainwashed or brain dead. The network is now desperately attempting to corral these zombies into paying for its services with subscriptions.

Howard Stern recently posited the question "who the hell’s gonna pay for CNN+?" noting that "people don’t want CNN. I mean are they outta their minds?"

Fox News also saw a decline of 34 percent, but still has vastly more viewers with an average of 2.3 million during prime time hours.

Network news channels also saw significant declines in viewership, with NBC "Nightly News" registering a 14% decline, and both ABC’s "World News Tonight" and the "CBS Evening News" seeing 12% drops in viewership.

The data also revealed that visits to mainstream media news websites plummeted, with unique visitors to the Washington Post’s website dropping by an staggering 44% between November 2020 and 2021, and the New York Times registering a 34% decline in unique visitors.

While analysts claim the decline is due to President Trump leaving office, one might posit that it has more to do with the torrent of bullshit pouring out the mouths of every anchor and talking head visible on the networks, and practically every ’journalist’ woefully attempting to disguise their opinions as real news in the Post and the Times.

Maryland doctor says people are 'going to die' after Biden admin uses faulty data to snub antibody treatments
[FOX] A doctor in Maryland said he had to cancel potentially life-saving monoclonal antibody infusions for about 250 people over the last week after the federal government stopped distributing treatments made by Regeneron and Eli Lilly because they aren't effective against omicron, even though the delta variant, which the drugs are effective at treating, was still dominant at the time.

The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response halted the allocation of those two antibody treatments last Thursday amid the rise of omicron, which the CDC had said days earlier was responsible for 73.2% of all new cases.

But the CDC backtracked on that alarming estimate this week, revising it down to just 22.5% for the week ending Dec. 18, more than a 50-point drop.

The delta variant, which Regeneron and Eli Lilly's treatments are effective against, was actually responsible for 77% of all new cases when the federal government stopped distributing those antibody drugs.

Now, one doctor says the government's massive miscalculation cost lives.

"I am as angry as I possibly can be about this," Dr. Ron Elfenbein, the medical director and CEO of FirstCall Medical Center in Gambrills, Maryland, told Fox News Digital on Wednesday.

#1  It is untrue that the discontinued monoclonal antibodies are not effective. Some have found they are less effective but not without some effect. In addition, individual patients with positive RT-PCR tests and their prescribers have no way of knowing what variant they have -- the tests aren't set up that way. So the gubmint decides to shoot in the dark and take all of the less than perfect meds out of the pipeline despite these unknowns. Beyond stupid...

#2  F--king liars. Now they're claiming “vaccines were never supposed to stop spread, just reduce severity.”

This is after these lying assholes promised for MONTHS that the vaccines would absolutely positively stop spread, contagion, and provide herd immunity. They even doubled down on this claim by even changing the very definition of “herd immunity” to exclude natural immunity.

F--king liars -- as "Boriquagato" says, We have the receipts. Here they are, nicely compiled by boriquagato on his Substack

A sample of their f--king lies over the past year:
1. CDC head Walensky, March 29: "Our data from the CDC today suggests that vaccinated people do not carry the virus, don't get sick and that it's not just in the clinical trials data but also in the real world data."
2. Fauci , May 15: "Vaccinated people become dead ends for the virus and cannot spread it
3. Fauci, May 20: "If 70% of Americans get vaccinated we can avoid a Fall surge."
4. Biden, July 2021 town hall: "You're not going to get Covid if you get vaccinated."

And now the Dwarf is lying about what he and his minions repeated all year:

Fauci today Dec. 29 in CNBC:
TV Host: "Do you feel there was a communication error?"
Fauci: " well I think it was the question of what people interpreted..."

If they're not lying then they're just bloody incompetent f--ks at a minimum. Either way, they clearly don't know what the hell they're doing and are just making sh!t up as they go along.

2700 Migrants Apprehended over Christmas Weekend in One Texas Border, Come From Dozens of CountriesSector,
[Breitbart] Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 2,700 migrants over the Christmas weekend, adding to the nearly 30,000 in November.

“The mission never sleeps,” Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens said in a tweet on Monday. “Our numbers continue to increase across the board in all metrics.”

Owens reported his agents apprehended 2,700 migrants over the Christmas weekend. Those arrests included at least three sex offenders. Several of the groups included more than 130 migrants — a tactic used to tax Border Patrol resources and allow other smuggling activities to proceed unfettered.

In addition, the agents in the Del Rio Sector disrupted 15 smuggling cases and rescued 16 migrants placed in danger by their human smugglers.

These Christmas-weekend apprehensions added to the nearly 30,000 migrants apprehended in the sector during the month of November, Owens tweeted. These apprehensions represent an increase of more than 241 percent over the same month in 2020.

During the first two months of Fiscal Year 22, which began on October 1, Del Rio Sector agents apprehended 57,965 migrants (up 238 percent over the same period in FY21). The apprehensions included 42,122 single adults (up 191 percent), 14,335 Family Unit Aliens (up 695 percent), and 1,508 Unaccompanied Alien Children (up 76 percent).

Border Patrol agents pick up migrants from Turkey as part of arrivals from dozens of countries

[FoxNews] Border Patrol agents in El Paso, Texas have picked up five migrants from Turkey attempting to enter the U.S. illegally -- as officials say they are seeing foreign nationals from dozens of countries arriving at the U.S.-Mexico border.

El Paso Chief Border Patrol Agent Gloria Chavez announced that agents in Ysleta had intercepted the five Turkish nationals entering the U.S. illegally.

She added that agents in the sector have so far arrested migrants from over 45 nationalities.

"Border Security is National Security!" she tweeted, along with a graphic that said "Turkish Incursion."

Agents have been dealing with a constant, large flow of migrants coming to the border, primarily from Mexico and Northern Triangle countries. But agents have also encountered migrants from all across the globe attempting to gain access to the United States.

In Fiscal Year 2021, there were 1,409 encounters with migrants coming from Turkey, up from 109 in FY 2020. So far in FY 2022, there have been 957 encounters since October.

Meanwhile, there were 2,588 Indian nationals encountered in FY2021, up from 1,120 in FY 2020. There were 450 encounters with Chinese nationals in FY 2021, down from the 1,738 in FY 2020.

There were an additional 20,707 migrants in FY2021 listed as coming from "other" countries outside those listed on the CBP statistics – up from 7,047 in FY2020.

CBP figures released earlier this month show agents reported 173,620 encounters at the southern border in November, a staggering increase of 140 percent from the same time last year.

Fiscal Year 2021, which ran through September, saw the most encounters on record with more than 1.7 million encounters.

The US' lost, ancient megacity
[BBC] In the ancient Mississippian settlement of Cahokia, vast social events – not trade or the economy – were the founding principle.

Pity the event planners tasked with managing Cahokia's wildest parties. A thousand years ago, the Mississippian settlement – on a site near the modern US city of St Louis, Missouri – was renowned for bashes that went on for days.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
What's up with the Epstein estate in New Mexico
[KRQE] What will become of the infamous Zorro Ranch near Santa Fe now that Jeffrey Epstein is dead? Earlier this year, Gabrielle Burkhart’s investigation uncovered a bizarre roadblock.

For years, this place was shrouded in secrecy. The billionaire behind the sprawling ranch is gone. Only Jeffrey Epstein and his accusers know the dark details of what went on there near Stanley, New Mexico.

Records show Epstein and the Zorro trust bought the ranch from the Gary King family, then built his 33,339 square foot mansion there in the 90s. Since 1993, the Epstein trust had state lease agreements for grazing cattle on public lands near his mansion. “To your knowledge, what was that land being used for?” KRQE News 13 asked New Mexico State Land Commissioner, Stephanie Garcia Richard.

“One can only speculate and I have to tell you Gabrielle, that my staff … you know this has been a difficult topic for us to tackle,” said Garcia Richard. “Thinking about what state land might have been used for has been you know, has been difficult.”

Garcia Richard took office in 2019. That year, she canceled a decades-long lease agreement the state had with Epstein for nearly 1,300 acres of grazing land. “We want to encourage a ranching family to use it, we want to encourage rec access to the area,” Garcia Richard explained. “We’ve even talked about some type of memorial site to just recognize what young girls, and women went through in this area and on state land.”

Nearly 7,600 acres of private property surround the state’s land. “That’s a pretty big ranch,” explained Gus Martinez, Santa Fe County Assessor. “It is a remote property. The only way you can get access is really through the ranch hand, and so you can’t just really drive into that property because the gates are closed,” said Martinez.

KRQE News 13 requested records in Santa Fe County to verify how much land the Epstein estate still owns. Martinez was surprised to find records showing portions of the Zorro ranch had indeed changed ownership, according to a mysterious deed filed in 2020.

The Santa Fe County Assessor’s office located a deed filed with Santa Fe County in October 2020, transferring the Zorro Ranch from Epstein’s company, Cypress Inc. to Love and Bliss, a non-profit church for $200.

The listed address for Love and Bliss church is a small home in Redington Beach, Florida.

KRQE News 13 reached a representative from the Epstein estate, and asked whether the estate was aware of the Love and Bliss deed filed in New Mexico. “It’s the same people that filed a fraudulent warranty deed in Florida,” said Daniel Weiner, an attorney for the Epstein estate. “This cost the estate money and court time to get it thrown out,” he added.

It turns out Love and Bliss filed a fake deed in Florida for Epstein’s Palm Beach mansion, clouding the estate’s ability to sell the Florida property.

Since KRQE’s initial report, the Epstein estate took court action against Love and Bliss. Documents obtained by KRQE News 13 show in November, a default judgment was filed in Santa Fe County ordering the false deed field by Love and Bliss canceled. It noted it shall be stricken from the county’s property records.

Today the nearly 8,000-acre ranch property is listed for $27.5 million which includes multiple residences, firehouse, horse stables and a private airstrip and hanger.

When and if the ranch sells, the Epstein estate says funds from the sale will go toward the regular administration of the estate, including its payment of claimants, creditors and taxes as necessary.

An attorney for the Epstein estate says so far there have been several expressions of interest from potential buyers.

IDF's 'smart and deadly' robot project held up by slew of issues
What is a 'slew'?
[Jpost] Officers in the IDF's Southern Command claim that the robotics project on the Gaza border, which aims to locate and attack terrorists without exposing IDF soldiers to the Palestinian side, is not progressing according to expectations. This is despite the fact that in the summer the IDF took public pride in the project. "There are quite a few difficulties."

A "smart and deadly border" is a resource-intensive project that aims to integrate robots that will replace soldiers along the border with the Gaza Strip. The project includes advanced means of observation, quadcopters collecting information along the border and attacking and remotely controlled vehicles patrolling along the border fence along the road in order to detect infiltrations and suspicious elements.

Last summer, the Gaza division publicly boasted of a project that aims to reduce as much as possible the exposure of IDF fighters to fire from the Palestinian side, which usually includes anti-tank missiles or sniper fire, and even scenarios involving terrorists coming out of tunnels near the border. But according to officers in the Southern Command, the project is not progressing according to expectations: "There are quite a few technological difficulties that they currently do not seem to be overcoming. And more than that there are quite a few debates within the military about how it should proceed. The arguments are holding up the project."

  • The elder Acosta, 33, now faces capital murder charges as he's held on $1 million bond, according to police

  • The victims have since been identified by police as Xavier Gonzalez, 14, Ivan Noyala, 16, and Rafael Garcia, 17

Economy
Buckle Up: Inflation Set to Drive Consumer Prices Even Higher in 2022
[Townhall] Despite President Biden's assurances to the contrary, inflationary pressure is apparently here to stay as his administration looks toward the start of his second year in office and may hope for some relief from the negative "Democrats in disarray" narrative swirling around the White House.

Made in USA - TC5 Top Load Washer with Speed Queen® Classic Clean™ | No Lid Lock or Chinese chips| 5-Year Warranty
Product Code: TC5003WN

After last two price increases, now only $1,449 MSRP

(Matching DC5 dryer sold separately, same price)

However badly Biden may want the economy to improve, Americans surely wish so more fervently. With the most expensive Thanksgiving and Christmas in memory in the rear-view mirror, there are unfortunately more price hikes to come as manufacturers and producers pass the costs of lasting inflation on to consumers. As The Wall Street Journal announced, "Everything from coffee to mustard is getting more expensive next year."

Man Wearing Dress Becomes Jeopardy's Top 'Female' Earner
[PJ] The ability of men to erase women has now expanded to game shows.

On Friday, Jeopardy! champion Amy Schneider became, according to NBC News, "the highest-earning female contestant in the game show’s nearly 57-year run."

There’s just one problem. Amy Schneider is a man.
I'll take WOKE teevee game shows for $600. Alex
Amy Schneider is a man who identifies as a woman. Some call that a transgender woman. Despite his identifying as a woman, he is biologically male.

While Jeopardy! doesn’t distinguish between male and female contestants in their hall of fame, he is referred to by female pronouns and as a woman on the show and the Jeopardy! website.

Unlike sports, where men have multiple physical advantages over women, men don’t have an innate advantage over women in Jeopardy!, but Schneider being dubbed the highest-earning female in Jeopardy! history nevertheless erases the achievements of actual women who have competed in the show, like Larissa Kelly, the true highest-earning female in Jeopardy! history.

Ludhiana blast: Mastermind and Khalistan terrorist arrested in Germany
Follow up to this story from two days ago.
[OneIndia] The key accused in the Ludhiana Court blast, Jaswinder SIngh Multan
...Home of the Multan Sultans...
i has been arrested in Germany. Multani, a member of the Babbar Khalsa and sympathiser of the radical Sikh group, Sikhs for Justice is being interrogated by the agencies in Germany after his name cropped up in the blast.

He was arrested by the Federal Police from Erfurt in Central Germany following a request by the Indian agencies. On December 23 one person was killed and 6 others injured in a blast at a court in Ludhiana.

The Intelligence agencies had learnt that a Germany based Khalistan terrorist and another from the Babbar Khalsa in Pakistain had planned this attack after being tasked by the ISI.

The Babbar Khalsa terrorist who is currently in Pakistain has been identified as Harvinder Singh Sandhu, while the Khalistan supporter based in Germany is Jaswinder SIngh Multani.

Both had coordinated with each other and planned the attack. The attack was first of the many other acts of terror they had planned to destabilise Punjab, an Intelligence Bureau official told OneIndia.

Sandhu according to the IB official is also wanted in scores of cases that include cross border smuggling. Sandhu is wanted in 30 different cases that include murder, smuggling of arms and ammunition, drug peddling etc.

The suspect was identified as a Gagandeep Singh alias Gaggi. He was dismissed from service in 2019 for his alleged involvement in drug peddling. He was posted as the head constable at a cop shoppe in Khanna at the time of him being dismissed. The drug peddling case was investigated by the Ludhiana unit of the Special Task Force.

The former cop had spent 25 months in jail before getting bail on September 8. The hearing in the case was scheduled to be held on Friday, but the matter was adjourned to February 2022.

The ISI had tasked Jaswinder Multani , a Germany based pro-Khalistan terrorist to carry out this blast. Multani has a strong network within India has been in the business of supplying arms and ammunition through his contacts in the ISI.

In 2002 the government of Pervez Musharraf banned the group, which changed its name to Khaddam ul-Islam and continued doing what it had been doing before without missing a beat...
, including two Paks have been shot full of holes in Kulgam and Anantnag districts of Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
Officials said that one shootout broke out in Kulgam and the other one at Anantnag. Acting on a tip off, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Mirhama district. The forces were fired upon when they were conducting a search operation, following which an encounter broke out. In the encounter, the security forces shot full of holes three terrorists.

In the other encounter at Nougat Shahbad in Anantnag, while murderous Moslems of the Jaish-e-Mohammad were shot full of holes, one policeman was injured. He has been shifted to hospital and is undergoing treatment.

"6 #murderous Moslems of proscribed #terror outfit JeM killed in two separate #encounters. 4 among the killed murderous Moslems have been identified so far as (2) #Pak & (2) local terrorists. Identification of other 02 murderous Moslems is being ascertained. A big #success for us," the Kashmir Zone police while quoting Inspector General Vijay Kumar said in a tweet.

CDC Withdraws Use of PCR Test for COVID and Finally Admits the Test Can Not Differentiate Between the Flu and COVID Virus
[Gateway] After December 31, 2021, the CDC will withdraw the emergency use authorization of the PCR test for COVID-19 testing. The CDC finally admitted the test does not differentiate between the flu and COVID virus.

Via the CDC website:

In preparation for this change, CDC recommends clinical laboratories and testing sites that have been using the CDC 2019-nCoV RT-PCR assay select and begin their transition to another FDA-authorized COVID-19 test. CDC encourages laboratories to consider adoption of a multiplexed method that can facilitate detection and differentiation of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza viruses. Such assays can facilitate continued testing for both influenza and SARS-CoV-2 and can save both time and resources as we head into influenza season.

This explains the disappearance of Flu cases in the US in 2020. It also inflated the COVID cases as Dr. Fauci and the DC elites knew would happen.
Spusosh Croluck9804 gives us the Global Research post on the subject, commenting:
This is huge, and will be buried I suspect. You can verify the story at the CDC website.

The lab test that has been used for almost two years to identify people as having or having been exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID is being withdrawn. *It cannot differentiate between COVID and flu viruses.*

Think about what that means for statistics on which the pandemic lockdowns have been based.

I didn’t read the CDC statement, and previous statements on the issue since the CDC announcement at the end of July that the test should be discontinued, as meaning that the test did not differentiate between Covid and influenza, but rather that the original protocol never tested for influenza at all. It seems to me, however, that the real problem with the test is that the original protocol from the WHO and CDC demanded so many amplification cycles that an unknown but very large number of results were reported as positive that should not have been. At the same time, medical staff were pushed to report many patients as having Covid who either were not infected or where Covid was a mild infection, the problem that drove them to seek treatment being something else — with Covid rather than from Covid. So the statistics were being cooked several different ways, and we will no doubt see additional — considerably lower — restatements in the months and year to come.

There is NO one "PCR test for COVID-19 testing". There is NO one "the lab test" There are MANY RT-PCR tests for COVID-19 testing. Only one will have its EUA permit cancelled by the CDC on New Years Day. The others RT-PCR tests still have their EUA's in effect.
The CDC in its infinite wisdom somewho cannot figure out how to put this information up front and make it clear. Go to their website and search for a list of all RT-PCR's which will still have valid EUA's for continued use after New Years Day. I could not find a list, but I was able to find many RT-PCR tests for COVID-19 that will continue to be available.

The Democratic Party is now the party of welfare — not working people
[NYPOST] The Democratic Party used to call itself the party of working people and hail the "dignity of work." No more. Now Democrats want to guarantee people who choose not to work an income funded by the suckers who show up for employment, care for their families and pay taxes.

Fortunately, these self-supporting Americans just dodged a bullet. The failure of Build Back Better to pass in Congress, thanks to holdout Sen. Joe Manchin
...Dem senator-for-life from West Virginia. Manchin is one of the approximately one (okay, two) Dem senators who exhibits more integrity than Jello, often even representing his constituents...
(D-W.Va.), means that the monthly checks or automatic bank deposits to parents with kids — sometimes dubbed Biden Bucks — come to an end this month. (Though progressives haven’t given up on trying to revive them some other way.)

For working people, the monthly payments were merely an advance on their tax refunds. But parents who choose not to work have been getting no-strings money to support their nonworking lifestyles.

Using the pretext of pandemic relief, Democrats who enacted the American Rescue Plan in March changed a feature of the tax code — the child tax credit available to adults who work and pay taxes — into a grant paid unconditionally and monthly to almost all adults with kids, whether they work or not.

Democrats have been pushing to extend the free monthly payments through 2022 as part of the Build Back Better Act, with a plan to make them permanent.

Manchin saw right through what his party intended: a socialist-style universal basic income. Manchin objected to the unconditional monthly cash grants: "There’s no work requirement whatsoever. Don’t you think if we’re going to help the children," he asked, the parents "should make some effort?"

So what about the Democratic Party that represents working people? President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Being a self-defined foreign policy whiz kid means never having to say you're sorry...
still talks the talk. "My dad used to say, ’Joey, a job is about a lot more than a paycheck. It’s about your dignity. It’s about respect. It’s about your place in the community.’"

But Biden’s party is no longer walking that walk. As Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.) told the House Boodle Central during a debate over Build Back Better, "the so-called dignity of work — that’s like hearing a fingernail on a chalkboard." New York magazine’s Eric Levitz calls Manchin’s work-ethic convictions "contemptible."

Sorry, but most Americans don’t want to support the moochers.

Manchin did Biden a favor in defeating Build Back Better
Advocates of the monthly payments hail them as "already a huge success" for lifting millions of children out of poverty. Nonsense. That’s what a working parent does. The national poverty rate fell temporarily, but the payments didn’t solve the problem of parents without the mindset to support their children.

This is déjà vu. Uncle Sam used to send checks to nonworking parents. The 1996 welfare reform enacted by a Republican Congress and signed by President Bill Clinton
...former Democratic president of the U.S. Bill was the second U.S. president to be impeached, the first to deny that oral sex was sex, the first to have difficulty with the definition of the word is...
changed that, requiring parents to work or train for work in order to receive cash benefits.

Ingushetia suspect fined in terrorism case
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] A military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a resident of Ingushetia Ruslan Ozdoev to a fine of 250,000 rubles, having found him guilty of publicly justifying terrorism.

Ruslan Ozdoev, 27, resident of Nazran, was accused of publicly justifying terrorism (part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia). The punishment under this article provides for both a fine in the amount of one hundred thousand to five hundred thousand rubles and imprisonment for a term of two to five years.

"It was established that in 2015 and 2016 the defendant posted a video file depicting the symbols of the international terrorist organization IS and a text file containing linguistic and psychological signs of justifying terrorist activities on a public page of one of the social networks," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told in the press Service of the Southern District Military Court.

Ozdoev was also deprived of the right to "engage in activities related to the administration of sites" for a year. He admitted his guilt, his case was considered in a special order (without examining the evidence - note of the "Caucasian Knot"). Ozdoev did not appeal against the verdict and on December 28 it entered into force, the press service of the court said.

The "Caucasian Knot" has not yet received any comments from Ruslan Ozdoev and his representatives regarding the decision of the court

Kamala Harris Asking Wall Street CEOs, Business Leaders For Advice
Another in a continuing series titled 'I don't have a fucking clue what I'm doing'...
[NY Post] - Vice President Kamala Harris has frequently sought guidance from well-known Wall Street executives and business leaders as the Biden administration contends with a series of policy challenges at home and abroad, according to a report Wednesday.
I follow this shit pretty closely; this is the first time I've heard about it.
The outreach has occurred as Harris seeks to navigate various obstacles, including an ongoing border crisis, supply chain disruptions that have contributed to rising inflation and a Democrat-led push for federal voting rights legislation.
All three of which were caused / supported by this administration.
The executives, who include Microsoft president Brad Smith, Citigroup Inc. CEO Jane Fraser and several others, have served as "informal advisers" to Harris, Bloomberg reported. The vice president has spoken with the leaders in a variety of forums, including telephone calls and strategy meetings.
What exactly they are 'advising' her on is completely absent from the story. Click on the link if you want your intelligence further insulted.

...Nigeerian Islamist group, formerly paying homage to al-Qaeda, then, when the money ran out, to the Islamic State, and headed by nutcase Abu Bakr Shekau. Once he exploded in a gunfight with ISWAP, many in the group surrendered to the govt and others went with their new overlords. The remainder are a shell of their former selves, stmbling glassy-eyed and lonely through the Sambisa Forest and the soothing waters of Lake Chad, asking themselves What is truth?, or maybe just I wonder what's for dinner? I hope it's not rhinocerous again! ...
, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, has suspended farmers from going to their farms in the outskirt of Buni Yadi, a community in the Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) in Yobe State have said its members lost over 100 hectares of farmland to the activities of Boko Haram gunnies and criminal herdsmen in three local government areas of the state.

This was made known by the Yobe State Chapter Chairman of AFAN Alhaji Usman Ngari, on Wednesday.

"Gujiba, Geidam and Yunusari Local Governments are facing challenges of insecurity and also during the harvests, they faced challenges with herders who destroyed some of the farms with their cattle.

"More than a hundred hectares of farmland were destroyed by gunnies and herdsmen," Tribune quoted him as saying.

He said despite that, farmers in the state produced good harvest with minimal rainfall they witnessed during the rainy season.

"This year, the farmers have really done well, only in some parts, the rains stopped earlier, but overall production has been good but it is not 100 per cent", he added.

He however said there was an ongoing registration of farmers who are interested in irrigation, and many farmers are showing interest.

Alhaji Ngari said a meeting was held between AFAN, herders and the Federal Government to find a lasting solution to the crisis between the farmers and herders.

He said it was agreed that the grazing reserve which was taken away by farmers would be returned to the herders so that they could keep their livestock there without encroaching into farms.

"We have made two major arrangements for the January dry season farming, firstly, we had a meeting with herders together with the federal government to return the grazing reserves that were taken away by the farms to the herders so that they will have enough grass and water for their livestock," he noted.

Ethiopia's Tigray taps Muslim past in propaganda push
That'll end well.
[AlAhram] Rebels from Æthiopia's Tigray region are drawing on early Islamic history in an Arabic-language propaganda push to rally solidarity among Moslems online for their battle against the government.

Thousands of people have been killed since the conflict erupted last year between the government in Addis Ababa and its foes, the rebel Tigrayan People's Liberation Front (TPLF).

The overwhelmingly Christian Tigrayan people account for less than six percent of Æthiopia's 110 million people, and the media-savvy TPLF rebels may hope to win over Moslem allies among anti-government forces in the country's complex multi-ethnic population as well as generate sympathy abroad.

Iranian network targeted Likud activists online, claims report
The shadow war continues.
[IsraelTimes] A network of Iranian agents has been targeting Israelis with political posts online and sharing information designed to inflame tensions, reports Channel 12 news.

According to the report, a web of Iranians using fake identities and profiles on social media, mostly on Facebook, has been sharing bully boy political content with Israelis. In particular, the report claims, they have targeted prominent Likud activists with posts and memes attacking the current government.

The same profiles also shared anti-Netanyahu posts and activity in left-wing Facebook groups. The aim, the report claims, is not to support any particular political party but to sow fear and infighting among citizens.

The report did not provide any proof that the foreign profiles were being operated by Iranians, just that they were suspected to be so.

[FOXNEWS] Washington state politicians introduced a bill this month that would reduce penalties for drive-by shootings with the aim of "promoting racial equity."

The bill, introduced by Democratic Representatives Tarra Simmons and David Hackney ahead of the state's 2022 legislative session, would eliminate drive-by shootings as the basis for elevating a first-degree murder charge to aggravated murder in the first degree, which carries a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment.

Drive-by shootings were added to the list of aggravating factors for murder charges in 1995. Other aggravating factors include the murder of law enforcement officers, murders committed by inmates while they are behind bars, and murder-for-hire schemes.

Court extends remand of accused in Wajiha Swati murder case
[NATION.PK] A court in Rawalpindi on Wednesday extended the physical remand of the key accused in the kidnapping and murder case of American national Wajiha Swati by three days.Police produced the three accused, including Wajiha’s ex-husband Rizwan Habib, his father and employee, before the court on the completion of their previous physical remand.

The investigation officer pleaded that their remand be extended for further investigation. He said the murder weapon and the vehicle used to transport the victim’s body to Lakki Marwat have not yet been recovered from the accused.

Civil Judge Tariq Khan extended the accused persons’ physical remand for three days.

Earlier, the victim’s former husband confessed to abducting her soon after her arrival in Pakistain and killing her and burying her body in Lakki Marwat.

Wajiha had gone missing soon after she reached Pakistain on October 16, the police said. A case was registered with the Morgah cop shoppe on the complaint of her eldest son. The FIR nominated Rizwan Habib as the main accused.

Putin, Biden to speak over the phone today
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[RIA Novosti] On Thursday evening, Vladimir Putin intends to talk by phone with his American counterpart Joe Biden , press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov confirmed to RIA Novosti.

"Indeed, for tomorrow, late in the evening, Putin is scheduled to have a telephone conversation with the US President," he said.

Earlier, the White House announced the upcoming conversation. The leaders will discuss several topics, including talks scheduled for January, according to a statement from US National Security Council spokesman Emily Horne. According to CNN, this is a meeting in the format of a strategic dialogue at the level of representatives of the Foreign Ministry on January 10, and a meeting of the Russia - NATO Council on January 12, and a multilateral meeting at the OSCE site a day later.

As CNN reported, the conversation is scheduled for 15:30 local time (23:30 Moscow time). Biden believes that in relations with Moscow "nothing can replace a direct dialogue between leaders," the article noted.

The previous conversation between Putin and Biden took place on December 7. The leaders talked over a closed video link. Putin stressed that NATO's eastward expansion and the deployment of offensive weapons in Ukraine are red lines for the Kremlin. Ten days after the video meeting, the Russian Foreign Ministry published draft agreements with the United States and an agreement with NATO on security guarantees. The documents have already been handed over to Washington and its allies.

The projects included provisions on non-deployment of intermediate and shorter-range missiles in each other's reach, mutual guarantees of security in Europe and refusal from further NATO expansion, including at the expense of the former Soviet republics.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told RIA Novosti that if NATO and the United States do not respond to Russia's demand for security guarantees, this could lead to a new round of confrontation. At a big press conference, Putin stressed that Moscow's further steps will depend not on the course of the negotiations, but on the unconditional provision of Russia's security - "today and for a historical perspective."

Teen wounded in rock-throwing attack in Jerusalem
[IsraelTimes] A group of high school students was attacked by rock-throwers in the flashpoint Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem, police say.

A youth was lightly maimed and given medical treatment, according to the police, who reported that, amid the rock-throwing, an observer fired a gunshot in the air.

Police say that a 15-year-old suspect was arrested and brought in for interrogation for carrying out the rock-throwing.

The right-wing Honenu organization said that a staff member of the high school group was the one who had gun sex to disperse the attackers.

#1  There is a strong likelihood of a massive spillover of fighters to IS-K if Taliban secure loans from international lenders or even states on a certain interest rate. IS-K has accused the Taliban regime of betraying the religion in letter and spirit and this could be a really big nail in the coffin of the group, if not the final.

The assumption here is that these people really believe what they preach. Maybe jihadism is just a horse each player is riding to temporal power. They'll use Islamic rhetoric against their enemies within and without, but flout these principles if that's what it takes to hang on to power.

Biden's COVID incompetence, hypocrisy and fact-spinning are only making things worse
[NYPOST] You can’t blame Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect hacked up by the World's Greatest Deliberative Body. The guy who single-handedly lost Afghanistan...
for the COVID pandemic any more than you can blame Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
, yet when it comes to fighting the virus, the current prez seems to be doing more wrong things than right — and then spinning facts to deflect criticism.Perhaps that explains some of the recent chaos across the nation, particularly among people trying to get tested for the virus.

On Monday, for example, Biden simply denied a report
No, no! Certainly not!
that his team rejected a plan in October to produce 732 million free, at-home COVID-19 test kits by Christmas. If true, that now seems like a mistake.

According to the Vanity Fair report, the White House told the experts who’d developed the plan that it wouldn’t adopt it. One expert, Dr. Steven Phillips, accused Team Biden of "playing small ball."

The White House’s claim that it didn’t reject the plan was downright lame: "The characterization of ’rejection’ is not an accurate reflection of a productive meeting, and, in fact, we are implementing many measures that were discussed as capacity now allows us to do," a spokesperson said. Plus, for the past few weeks, Biden has been expressing regret for not acting more quickly to make tests more widely available.

Then, just last week, he announced his own plan to make almost as many tests, 500 million, available (that may yet prove insufficient).

So which is it: Did Team Biden merely nix a plan in October and then regret it? Or did it also fib about what it failed to do back then, too?

At the same time, the White House has been active when it shouldn’t be, as when the president issued a federal vaccine mandate for private-sector workers — even though he now says "there’s no federal solution; this gets solved at the state level."

That statement, incidentally, and the current chaos stand out because Biden and fellow Democrats unfairly blamed so much of last year’s COVID deaths on Trump, as if there were a "federal solution" back then. And also because there’ve been more COVID deaths under Biden than Trump, even though Biden vowed to "shut down the virus."

The irony is that the latest COVID "crisis" is now as much the result of hysteria (which Team Biden has only fueled) as anything else. Yes, the number of positive test cases is surging, as the latest variant, Omicron, appears to be more transmissible and so many more people are getting tested.

But daily COVID hospitalizations and deaths are nowhere near what they were a year ago. Vaccines and treatments have made an enormous difference.

Bottom line: Team Biden’s hype, incompetence, hypocrisy and downright lies aren’t instilling confidence. The president and his staff need to take a breath and figure out a calmer, saner course.

Anderson Cooper floats withholding Social Security from unvaxxed, fact-checkers lib-splain
[BIZPACREVIEW] Social media went kaboom! after a clip of CNN
...the organization formerly known as the Cable News Network. Now who knows what it might stand for...
anchor Anderson Cooper appearing to suggest that the vaccine-hesitant could be denied Social Security was posted on Christmas Eve and drew a fierce response from Twitter users worried about the lengths to which the government might go to enforce compliance.

But don’t be mad. He didn’t really mean what he said as an endorsement. Outlets like AP have jumped to lib-splain his question as "only a question." Thanks for clearing that up, guys!

The clip was from an August 4 interview with Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, a man who has championed vaccines and has been a regular presence on television since the outbreak of the COVID pandemic and who, like Dr. Anthony Fauci
...American epidemiologist with rotating opinions, warnings about the unlikely, and reassurances that if you wear a mask you won't get COVID, as long as you're wearing multiple masks, assuming wearing a mask is necessary in the first place...
, relishes serving up doomsday predictions about the virus.

During the interview on "Anderson Cooper 360," the host and Gates discussed a variety of topics including the billionaire’s relationship with deceased pedophile Jeffrey Want Some Candy, Little Girl? Epstein
...A high class pimp financier who was alleged to maintain a stable of underage whores sex slaves who were paid big bucks to entertain the rich and/or famous. He is a registered sex offender and made att least 17 out-of-court settlements with former members of his stable, with some cases still ongoing. 2011 court docs reveal that 21 email addresses and phone numbers for Bill Clinton and an aide were found in Epstein's electronic black book, and that Clinton frequently flew with Epstein on his private plane between 2002 to 2005. But really, they were probably just discussing finance or politix or something. While getting massaged. Then things got serious, Jeff was tossed in the slammer in New York and then he killed himself. Really. That's what happened...
, who was found dead in his cell in a high-security prison where he was awaiting trial, and the conversation turned to the problem of coercing the unvaxxed into obedience.

While Cooper did not explicitly call for such a severe measure, many believed that he at least floated the idea which clearly delighted the snickering Gates.

Bandits Kill Zamfara Traditional Ruler, Many Villagers, Set Houses Ablaze
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Gunmen suspected to be bandidos have killed the District Head of Gada in the Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Alhaji Umaru Danbawan Allah.

The button men, who stormed the village on Tuesday evening with cycle of violences, also killed a yet—to-be-ascertained number of villagers.

Unconfirmed report said the traditional ruler was rubbed out and his house set ablaze after refusing to be kidnapped by the bandidos.

Deadly attacks have raged across Zamfara state where bandidos have thrived.

Farming and herding communities in the state have long been terrorised by gangs who raid villages, stealing cattle and kidnap residents for ransom.

In 2019, the state government entered a peace agreement with the button men.

About 15 brand new Hilux vehicles and cash gifts were also given to leaders of different 'repentant' gangs of bandidos by the governor in 2020.

But despite all these, communities in the state are still being attacked and residents kidnapped and/or killed.

In Latest Blow To Russian Civil Society, Court Orders Closure Of Memorial Rights Center
From everything I have read from Russia, Memorial wore its welcome thin. They started going off mission.
[RFERL] A Moscow court has ordered the closure of the Memorial Human Rights Center, one day after another court shut down the group's main parent organization, capping a year of administrative moves by the state to throttle civil society across the country.

The widely expected ruling on December 29 by the Moscow City Court was based on the finding that the organization had violated the country’s draconian "foreign agent" law, which has been used with growing frequency against rights groups, journalists, lawyers, civil society activists, and others.

Among other things, the law requires organizations deemed to be "foreign agents" to include an intrusive label on everything they publish or broadcast.

Outside the court building, a crowd of several dozen stood in freezing temperatures chanting "Shame! Shame!" after the ruling was announced.
Read the rest at the link

Says Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
...they have been considering a complaint from foreign agents for 8 years.

And now, apparently, it is necessary to wait another 8 years so that Memorial is not closed.

In general, if you think about it, some international body located on the territory of a military-political bloc pursuing an aggressively hostile policy against the Russian Federation requires the Russian Federation to obey its decisions in matters of the internal policy of the Russian Federation.

De facto, these are echoes of external political dependence, rooted in the 90s and which have not yet been completely eliminated. Hence, such impudent demands, as if now are 2001 or 2011, and not 2021, when there are practically no special illusions left in the relations between the intentions of the United States and its European satellites regarding the Russian Federation.

So this demand, of course, is not a reason to cancel the liquidation of Memorial, but rather a reason to think about the current format of relations with the ECHR.

#2  Very odd ... the original group had a Russian name: Памать, or [To] Remember, and its focus was 100% historical. IIRC the goal was to raise public awareness of, and rescue from the Soviet memory-hole, documented human rights abuses of the Soviet system.

How and when did this morph from an uncontroversial, purely historical, Russian-directed effort to something focused on contemporary partisan political activism under a transliterated English name ("Memorial")?

Was this something cooked up by that idiot McFaul and the other Soetoro morons?

How did they think Russians would react to a heavy-handed foreign-supported openly partisan political effort on Russian home soil?

Did they even bother to think of how they'd react if Russia and China began supporting election monitors in the US and trailing cops around our urban shitholes in order to document "human rights abuses"?

Perhaps I'm missing something or have this wrong, but this reeks of Obama-ist ham-handed human rights bullshit and interference in Russia.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Ghislaine Maxwell convicted in Epstein sex abuse case, judge orders her financial docs unsealed
NEW YORK (AP) — The British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted Wednesday of luring teenage girls to be sexually abused by the American millionaire Jeffrey Epstein.

The verdict capped a monthlong trial featuring sordid accounts of the sexual exploitation of girls as young as 14, told by four women who described being abused as teens in the 1990s and early 2000s at Epstein’s palatial homes in Florida, New York and New Mexico.

Jurors deliberated for five full days before finding Maxwell guilty of five of six counts. With the maximum prison terms for each charge ranging from five to 40 years in prison, Maxwell faces the likelihood of years behind bars — an outcome long sought by women who spent years fighting in civil courts to hold her accountable for her role in recruiting and grooming Epstein’s teenage victims and sometimes joining in the sexual abuse.

As the verdict was read, Maxwell was largely stoic behind a black mask. Afterward, Maxwell could be seen pouring herself a cup of water as one of her attorneys patted her on the back. She stood with her hands folded as the jury filed out, and glanced at her siblings — faithfully in attendance each day of the trial — as she herself was led from the courtroom. She did not hug her lawyers on the way out, a marked change from previous days during which Maxwell and her team were often physically affectionate with one another.

The defense had insisted Maxwell was a victim of a vindictive prosecution devised to deliver justice to women deprived of their main villain when Epstein killed himself while awaiting trial in 2019.

During the trial, prosecutors called 24 witnesses to give jurors a picture of life inside Epstein’s homes — a subject of public fascination and speculation ever since his 2006 arrest in Florida in a child sex case.

A housekeeper testified he was expected to be "blind, deaf and dumb" about the private lives of Epstein, a financier who cultivated friendships with influential politicians and business tycoons, and Maxwell, who had led a jet-setting lifestyle as the favorite child of a media mogul.

Federal judge orders documents about Ghislaine Maxwell's financial affairs to be unsealed, including any ties to the Clintons
Whee! This’ll be fun — for some of us, anyway.
[BLAZE] A federal judge in New York ruled Thursday to unseal court documents in relation to accused sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell. U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska ordered a trove of secret files to be made public this month, some of which could reveal financial ties to the Clintons.

Judge Preska ruled to unseal the court documents that are from a defamation lawsuit brought against Maxwell by alleged Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre that was initiated in 2015. Giuffre brought the lawsuit after Maxwell accused her of lying about being exploited and abused by Maxwell and Epstein.

Giuffre alleges that Maxwell recruited her to train as a masseuse when she was 16 years old, and was later turned into Epstein's "sex slave" from about 1999 to 2002, which included having sex with acquaintances of the convicted pedophile. Giuffre's defamation case against the former British socialite was settled in May 2017.

"Having taken a particularized view of the documents, the court concludes that each document reasonably had a tendency to effect the court's ruling and is thus a judicial document," Preska said during a telephone conference Thursday.

Later the family learned another local relative who is against the COVID-19 vaccination was coming down with something a few days before that, told none about this, attended some family gatherings despite feeling unwell & then had a + COVID-19 test. He is probably the source for her. Not a good time to go to Michigan and hang out with anybody.

Seattle
...a formerly lovely city in Washington state, governed by communists, anarchists, dipshits, and other sorts of incompetents. Home to Starbuck's, Boeing (at least for now), and Amazon, Microsoft, and Costco, the city became rich beyond its wildest dreams. All that money attracted the usual sort of grifting politician, and it's well on its way to chewing off the hand that feeds it...
-based Rep. Pramila Jayapal, leader of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, penned an op-ed in the Washington Post calling on Biden to enact portions of his Build Back Better plan via executive order.

"We are calling on the president to use executive action to immediately improve people’s lives," Jayapal wrote, adding she'd keep working to push the legislation in Congress. "Taking executive action will also make clear to those who hinder Build Back Better that the White House and Democrats will deliver for Americans."

The $2.4 trillion bill includes programs such as universal preschool, subsidized child care, paid family leave, and Medicare and Medicaid expansion.

Jayapal added in a tweet, "I’m calling on [Biden] to join us on a two track strategy — to enact as many relief programs as possible through Executive Action while we work on this critical legislation."

It's unclear whether Biden is interested in moving his agenda this way. Even if he was, the legality of such moves is questionable.

Tea Party Patriots Action Honorary Chairwoman Jenny Beth Martin said Biden would be stepping outside the law if he enacted any of the bill's major programs without congressional approval.

Arab, UN officials request Sudan's PM to reconsider resignation
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok received on Tuesday calls from a number of Arab and international leaders requesting him to not resign from his position.

A month after an agreement with the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese army Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on November 21, Hamdok failed to form a government of technocrats and to bring the political forces to sign a new political declaration.

Also, multiple sources said that the prime minister recently informed al-Burhan of his decision to leave his job and informed his office members to prepare for the handover.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud spoke with al-Burhan and Hamdok on Tuesday.

During his separate calls, al-Saud stressed the Kingdom’s keenness on Sudan’s stability and called for the formation of a new government as soon as possible.

He further called for an "Agreement between the military and civilian components for the benefit of Sudan and its brotherly people," according to the official agency.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
sources close to the calls said al-Saud called appealed to Hamdok to reverse his decision and requested al-Burhan to reconsider his position and make the necessary concessions to get the country out of the current crisis.

Hamdok also received calls from the UN Secretary-General, the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
and the U.S. Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa.

The officials discussed with the Sudanese prime minister the need to reconsider his decision and work for a genuine solution for the crisis.

NigerianArmy Invaded Enugu Churches, Disrupted Christmas Eve Services, Killed Two
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

A civic organization, the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law, otherwise known as Intersociety, has narrated in its latest report how operatives of the Nigerian Army invaded Egudene-Ekpofu community in the Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, killing two residents.

According to the report sent to SaharaReporters on Wednesday, the group revealed that the soldiers during an operation on December 24, 2021, invaded some churches in the community and disrupted their Christmas Eve services.

It was also reported that inter-communal movements were disrupted, forcing several residents to flee their homes into the forests or to neighbouring friendly villages.

Intersociety alleged that soldiers attached to the 82 Division also killed two defenceless citizens including a 13-year old boy, Master Arum from Ohuakpaka Quarters who was shot and killed when his parents’ bedroom and its doors were broken into.

The other victim was a middle-age man whose corpse was dumped at Obodo Nnemede Nwannaji near Onokolo Ode in the community.

"The soldiers of the Nigerian Army had between forbidden hours of 24th and 25th Night of December 2021 invaded Egudene-Ekpofu in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State and raided popular squares and quarters and several family houses during which Christmas Eve Church services and intra and inter communal movements were disrupted, forcing several citizens of the community to flee their homes into the forests or across their neighbouring friendly villages.

"The soldiers also during the operation attacked and raided houses and destroyed properties including doors, windows, electronics, etc; disrupted sleep, assaulted married and unmarried women and woke children from their sleep and traumatised them.

"The soldiers of the Nigerian Army under Enugu 82 Division also killed two defenceless citizens including a 13-year old boy (Master Arum from Ohuakpaka Quarters) who was shot and killed when his parents’ bedroom and its doors were broken into and as he was running helplessly for his dear life, the soldiers opened fire on him at close range and killed him instantly. The soldiers also shot and killed a yet-to-be middle-age man whose corpse was dumped at Obodo Nnemede Nwannaji near Onokolo Ode in the Community.

"As if the above dastardly acts were not enough, the soldiers also sighted a palm wine tapper on a palm tree and opened fire. He is presently admitted at the Enugu Specialist Hospital. Not done, the soldiers accosted another up-wine (palm) tapper and dispossessed him of his 5 gallons of up-wine valued at N25,000. His name is Chigozie Obushi.

"Through the use of threatened and terrified locals as "informants" who were forced to show them the dwelling houses of the community’s young men of productive age bracket (20-50 years), the soldiers attacked and invaded several houses that same late night of 24th/25th December 2021 and kidnapped scores from their sleep. Also not spared were the late night Christmas returnees and those returning from Christmas Eve Church services as well as those attending Christmas morning Church services."

Intersociety added that contrary to a statement by the Nigerian Army Director of Public Relations, Brig Gen Onyema Nwachukwu that soldiers arrested a wanted notorious ESN commander in the community, "the man being detained is an unarmed 40-year-old mason who was kidnapped from his rest and sleep following his sick-rest arising from work related stress and pains."

"By a detailed investigation carried out by the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law and contrary to the Nigerian Army claims, the so called "ESN Commander", identified by the Army as "Godwin Nnamdi", is a 40 year-old mason and struggling father of two children. His true name is Godwin Nnaji (not Godwin Nnamdi).

"His other identities are; he hails from Umuode Ega Kindred of Egudene in Ajame Amaeze Autonomous community, Ekpofu in Nkanu East, Enugu State. He struggles to feed himself, his wife and two children. Abducted and falsely labelled Nnaji is married to Mrs. Blessing Nnaji (nee Nnaji) from Ogonogo-Eji Ndiagu Akpugo Autonomous Community in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

"He was kidnapped from his rest and sleep following his sick-rest arising from work related stress and pains. He had taken some pain relief tablets and was sleeping when soldiers stormed his family house at about 12:21am on the Christmas Eve/early morning of 25th December 2021 and kidnapped him. Present in the family’s dwelling house during his abduction were his mother-Madam Theresa Nnaji and two of his siblings including his blind younger brother, Onyema Nnaji who was also rough-handled and assaulted.

"Nnaji was fallaciously labelled "ESN Commander" because a bangle with ’rising sun’ insignia was found on him. The soldiers later took him alongside other abductees to the 82 Division Headquarters in Enugu through Inyaba River into Oruku town and drove to their 82 Division Headquarters through Emene. After his abduction, Nnaji was bundled alongside others to Onokolo Market Square in the Community where he was mercilessly beaten and stripped half naked.

"He has been located to be detained at ’Galaxy Detention Camp’ of the 82 Division in Enugu and one of his younger brothers who went to see him was denied access by the lady Army officer in charge who said she is under superior instructions not to allow him to be visited or seen by anybody. Therefore, the claims by the Nigerian Army highlighted above are circumstantially fallacious and trademark of the Nigerian security forces particularly the Nigerian Army with which they have framed, kidnapped and killed hundreds of defenceless and unarmed citizens of Southeast and South-south Nigeria especially between October 2020 and December 2021.

"As a matter of fact and uttermost immediacy and inexcusability, Citizen Godwin Nnaji must be freed unconditionally; likewise others kidnapped and being held captive by the soldiers of the 82 Division in Enugu. The Nigerian Army must also let the affected communities particularly Egudene-Ekpofu be and discontinue all forms of siege and associated brutalisation and riotous brigandage in the area."

Cryptocurrency Prices Fall In December, and Investors Blame Omicron, Climate Change
"Climate change" - is there anything it can't do?
[CNBC] KEY POINTS

* Investors have shifted away from riskier investments such as cryptocurrency due to the emergence of the Covid omicron variant.

* ESG investors are also concerned about the use of energy in cryptocurrency mining, according to Lou Kerner, partner at Blockchain Coinvestors.

* Cryptocurrencies tied to the metaverse, gaming and decentralized finance are also pulling investor interest and dollars away from bitcoin, ethereum and ripple, according to Brian Kelly of BKCM.

The rising number of cases of the Covid omicron variant in the U.S. are a major catalyst for the falling cryptocurrency prices in December, according to investors and analysts.

Ethereum is up more than 400% in 2021 but on pace for its worst month since March 2020 as investors reassess their exposure to riskier assets following the emergence of the omicron variant.

Bitcoin is on pace to double the S&P 500, and ripple is more than 200% higher year to date, but both are also down double digits this month.

"With omicron coming along and the U.S. economy stalling a bit, a lot of macro funds that use bitcoin as this pro-cyclical inflation hedge have decided to take profits throughout December," Brian Kelly, CEO and founder of digital currency investment firm BKCM, told CNBC.

ESG — or environmental, social and governance — investing and concerns over energy use have also been a catalyst in recent crypto declines, according to Lou Kerner, partner at Blockchain Coinvestors.

"Today ’proof of work’ from the [cryptocurrency] mining machines is looked upon negatively by a lot of the investment community because of the energy it consumes," Kerner told CNBC. "But if you dig deep, much of the energy is energy that couldn’t be used for anything else. Relative to the massive value we are getting from it, the energy I think will become much less of a concern next year."
This 'energy' is commonly called electricity, and how on Earth it relates to "climate change" doesn't even come close to reaching the level of tenuousness. The sheer level of arrogance of stating electricity can't be used elsewhere demonstrates a fundamental lack of seriousness on at least one party here. I'd rather these analysts say 'I don't know' than to pull yet something else outta their collective asses.

Israeli civilian injured by gunfire from Gaza; IDF shells Hamas posts in response
[IsraelTimes] Military says man was working on maintenance of recently completed border barrier; 3 Paleostinians said maimed in retaliatory strike

An Israeli civilian was injured from gunfire Wednesday near the border with Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, the Israel Defense Forces said, drawing retaliatory strikes in the Strip.

Several Hebrew media outlets reported that the Israeli was injured by sniper fire originating in Gaza. The man was taken to Barzilai hospital in Ashkelon with light injuries to his leg, the military said. According to the hospital, the 33-year-old was struck by shrapnel as he worked on an ATV near Kibbutz Nahal Oz.

He is a worker for a civilian firm hired by the Defense Ministry for maintenance of the recently completed security barrier separating Israel and the Paleostinian enclave, it added.

The army ordered farmers to stay away from land near the Gaza border.

Paleostinian media subsequently reported that Israeli tanks were targeting several Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, outposts in northern Gaza. The IDF confirmed the shellings.

The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry said three Paleostinians have been maimed. Their identity was not immediately clear.
An Nahar adds:
Two Paleostinian farmers were maimed by the Israeli artillery fire which targeted four suspected sites used by Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, military wing the al-Qassam Brigades, the sources told AFP.

The incident coincides with the final day of military drills by armed factions in Gazoo.

According to a statement from the Israeli military, tanks targeted a number of Hamas military posts in northern Gaza, after an Israeli civilian was maimed by gunfire near the barrier separating the enclave from Israel.

Armed men steal food from WFP warehouse in El-Fasher
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Unidentified button men have stolen more than 1,900 tonnes of food from the World Food Programme (WFP) warehouse in El-Fasher, said the UN humanitarian coordination office (OCHA) on Wednesday.

The attack took place on the evening of 28 December, four days after a similar attack on the former UNAMID logistics base in El Fasher on 24 December 2021 by a peace group.

"According to initial reports, the WFP warehouse located in the Borsa area of El Fasher town, the capital of North Darfur State, contained up to 1,900 metric tonnes of food, meant for hundreds of thousands of food-insecure people in that area," said OCHA.

The fresh attack was also perpetrated by unknown gangs, according to the statement.

For her part, Khardiata Lo Ndiaye, UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan condemned the looting of food supplies from a WFP warehouse in El Fasher.

"The United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
and humanitarian partners are extremely concerned about the reports from North Darfur that humanitarian assets came under attack," said Lo Ndiaye.

She pointed out that this food assistance was meant for Sudan’s most vulnerable people.

"Such an attack severely impedes our ability to deliver to the people who need it the most," she added.

The North Darfur State Security Committee imposed a curfew in El Fasher, from 06:00 pm to 05:00 am from Wednesday, until further notice.

All militants involved in Dasu blast arrested: CTD
[NATION.PK] Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) deputy inspector general (DIG) Javed Iqbal Wazir said on Wednesday all the turbans involved in the July 14 Dasu blast have been arrested.

Sharing a round-up of actions taken by the CTD in the year 2021, Wazir said the jacket wallah behind the attack that killed 12 people, including nine Chinese nationals, had been identified.

He pointed out that the entire network of the turbans involved in the terrorist attack had been busted with the help of intelligence agencies.

At least 12 people, including nine Chinese nationals working on the Dasu Hydropower Project, were killed when a bus carrying them fell into a ravine following a kaboom on July 14, this year.

The DIG said the CTD eliminated three large groups of the proscribed ISIS in various operations and killed nine snuffies involved in acts of terrorism in the southern districts of the province.

The province saw 237 incidents of terrorism in 2021 with 561 FIRs registered, he revealed, adding that 599 "high-profile" snuffies with a collective head money of Rs200 million were rounded up.

Hezbollah deploys air defense systems in Syria's Qalamoun mountains
[JPost] See "Targets". Make sure you stand close...
While the IDF’s aerial superiority has worsened, the military believes that it still has the ability to carry out operations over Lebanon and Syria.

Hezbollah is reportedly deploying air defense systems in Syria, where it would be able to defend against Israeli airstrikes there as well as in Lebanon.

According to the Alma Research Center, the group is deploying the systems to the Qalmoun Mountains region northwest of Damascus, which borders Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, home to Hezbollah’s logistical and operational rear base.

The group is believed to have the SA8 low-altitude, short-range tactical surface-to-air missile system, SA17, and SA22 man-portable air defense missile systems in its arsenal in order to defend against Israeli airstrikes.

Hezbollah has fired on Israeli platforms using its air defenses, most recently in February of last year, when an Israeli drone was fired on by antiaircraft fire during routine operations over Lebanese territory. It was not hit and continued on its mission. In October 2019 an SA8 surface-to-air missile was fired at an Israeli drone but also missed its mark.

The report comes as military officials warned that the Israel Air Force’s freedom of operation in Lebanese skies has been compromised over the past year after air defense systems were deployed in the area.

In addition to deploying the batteries to Syria, Maj. (ret.) Tal Beeri, head of the research department at the Alma Center, told The Jerusalem Post that Hezbollah has also deployed SA8 batteries in south Lebanon.

According to Beeri, these systems can "theoretically" pose a threat to Israeli jets operating over Lebanon.

In addition to its independent air-defense system, Beeri said, it is possible that Hezbollah operatives have trained on Iran’s Bavar-373. The Iranian system is based on Russia’s SA-300 air-defense system that can supposedly simultaneously engage up to six targets up to 250 km. away with 12 missiles.

Iran says the system can target jet bombers and fighters, stealth aircraft and drones, as well as cruise and ballistic missiles.

"It is possible that Hezbollah has trained on it, and, in all probability, we estimate that there have been attempts to transfer it to the group," Beeri said.

In October, Israel’s defense establishment said that it had identified growing Iranian efforts to improve its air defenses in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and other locations, in an attempt to disrupt Israel’s "war between the wars" campaign and bring down an Israeli aircraft.

The Iranian systems have helped Syria improve its capabilities, shorten its response time to attacks and destroy more munitions fired by the Jewish state.

While the IDF’s aerial superiority has worsened, the military believes that it still has the ability to carry out operations over Lebanon and Syria despite the threat posed by Iranian and Hezbollah air-defense systems.

Tensions with both Lebanon and Syria remain high, with 31 rockets being fired from Lebanon (by both Palestinian operatives and Hezbollah) and two long-range rockets fired from Syria over the past year. In response, the IDF fired munitions from fighter planes and some 200 artillery shells.

Hezbollah has also violated Israeli airspace, sending 74 drones into Israel over the past year, down from 94 drones in 2020.

Day 3: Two dead after Tuesday’s alleged Israeli strike on Syrian port city, claims monitor
Day 2 can be seen here, Day 1 here.
[IsraelTimes] Predawn attack was the second time in a month that Israel reportedly targeted the key cargo hub; three other militia fighters said maimed

At least two members of a pro-government militia were killed in Tuesday’s alleged Israeli strike on the Syrian port of Latakia, according to a war monitor.

The strike before dawn marked the second time Israel has allegedly hit the key cargo hub since the outbreak of Syria’s civil war in 2011. The attack caused significant damage with stacks of containers catching fire.

"Two members of a pro-regime militia were killed in the Israeli strike," said the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition-linked monitoring group with questionable funding. "They had suffered serious wounds and gave up the ghost" in a hospital in Latakia earlier today.

Three other militia fighters were also maimed. Syrian state media said the containers hit in the strikes carried "engine oil and spare parts for cars and other vehicles."

But the Observatory says the cargo was "arms and munitions."

Israeli warplanes allegedly fired a number of missiles at the port of the coastal city of Latakia early Tuesday, causing large explosions and fires, in the second alleged Israeli strike in a month on the key facility.

Since the start of the conflict in Syria, Israel has routinely carried out Arclight airstrike

s on its strife-torn neighbor, mostly targeting Syrian government troops as well as allied Iran-backed forces and Hezbollah fighters.

So far this year, Israel has targeted Syria nearly 30 times, killing 130 people including five civilians and 125 loyalist fighters, according to Observatory figures.

Randi Weingarten's attempts to rewrite school-closings history won't fly
[NYPOST] American Federation of Teachers boss Randi Weingarten has learned an important lesson from the pandemic: Parents really resent the fact that she and the union she heads pushed to keep schools closed for so long at the expense of kids. So what’s Weingarten doing? Denying she did any such thing. And she’s got her media lapdogs backing her. Don’t fall for any of it."Rather than championing shutdowns, [Weingarten]’s spent much of her energy, both in public and behind the scenes, trying to get schools open," New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

scribe Michelle Goldberg wrote.

The AFT president told Goldberg she was "uncomfortable" acting "as a mediator between desperate parents grieving their kids’ interrupted educations and beleaguered teachers who feel they’re being blamed for a calamity they didn’t create."

Sorry, but that historical rewrite simply won’t fly: "There’s no way that you’re going to have full-time schools for all the kids and all the teachers the way we used to have it," Weingarten actually said in July 2020.

Yes, in March 2020, when the virus first hit and we didn’t know much about it, it was reasonable to want to close schools. Yet even as scientists, public-health officials and government leaders soon realized kids were at low risk of getting, and spreading, COVID, the teachers unions continued to fight against any return to normality. Despite schools in other parts of the world being wide open.

Weingarten and her National Education Association counterpart used their political muscle to exercise an inordinate amount of say over local school-district decisions and supplement the school-closure push by local unions.

Even as the august American Academy of Pediatrics encouraged schools to reopen for classes in fall 2020, Weingarten opposed then-US Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’ vow to reopen schools. And when the union-friendly Biden administration (aka the Wilmington comorra)
...knaves, footpads, and adjusters employed by the Biden Crime Family. They leave a trail of havoc everywhere they turn their attention, be it the nation's borders, the Keystone XL Pipeline, or epidemics, sometimes on purpose, most times through sheer arrogant ineptitude. They learnt this stuff in college, you know...
took over, the AFT was better able to exert influence.

In May 2021, The Post reported on conversations between the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the AFT and the White House. Weingarten’s union actually suggested language for the CDC’s school-reopening guidance released in February that resulted in schools staying remote longer into the 2020-2021 school year.

Africa North
Ten Years Later. Militias Still Control Libya
[LIBYAREVIEW] Throughout 2021, armed militias in western Libya continued to commit murder, kidnappings, and attacked government officials and offices. Several armed festivities erupted between them, causing the destruction of public property, and terrorising citizens. A number of these crimes are noted below:On 21 December in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, unaffiliated gangs surrounded the headquarters of the Presidential Council and the government. They deployed military vehicles, and closed streets with earthen berms. These movements caused the closure of several schools and the University of Tripoli. Many companies closed their doors, mass transportation stopped, and the city was paralyzed in fear of new festivities.

The movements of the armed militias came in the wake of the decision of the Libyan Presidential Council to dismiss the commander of the Tripoli Military District, Major General Abdel-Basset Marwan, and appointed Major General Abdel-Qader Mansour to succeed him.

In November, heavy festivities erupted between the militias of Mohammed Bahrun (Al-Far) who is affiliated with the Ministry of Interior in the city of al-Zawiya, and the Stabilization Support Agency (SSA), led by Abdel-Ghani al-Kikli (Ghneiwa), affiliated with the Presidential Council in al-Zawiya.

Various types of heavy weapons were reportedly used during the festivities. Videos circulating on social media showed the firing of rocket-propelled grenades from both sides. The festivities took place in residential neighbourhoods, endangering the lives and safety of civilians.

In October, festivities erupted between the SSA and the judicial police of the Radaa Special Deterrence Force (SDF). Heavy weapons were also used in the al-Farnaj neighbourhood in Tripoli, injuring a number of residents.

In October, festivities erupted in al-Zawiya between al-Far, and the Zaqrlo militia. The two sides exchanged missiles, which led to a number of deaths. The commander of the force west of Tripoli, Mutei al-Hariri was among the victims.

The festivities caused direct casualties to the al-Zawiya oil complex. Eight petroleum tanks were directly damaged. Five other tanks for storing base oils and chemical additives in a mineral oil mixing and filling plant were also damaged.

In September, unidentified button men kidnapped the mayor of the Hai al-Andalus neighbourhood, Mohammed al-Fatisi, and two members of the municipal council.

In August, an gang bearing the slogan "the Chief of Staff" attacked the headquarters of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA) in Tripoli. The group fired a heavy barrage of live ammunition at the headquarters and vehicles of the authority, resulting in several injuries.

In August, Chief of the Cabinet Office in Benghazi, Reda Afritis was kidnapped by an unknown gang in the al-Dahra area of Tripoli. He was released after being held for more than two weeks.

On 16 July, militias beat and kidnapped the Undersecretary for Programmes and Activities of the Ministry of. Youth, Ahmed Abu Bakr Milad. He was released the next day.

In July, members of the "Ayoub Abu Ras" militia stormed the headquarters of the Municipal Council in Ain Zara. They severely beat council members, and kidnapped a number of them.

Also in July, the city of al-Zawiya witnessed further armed festivities between the militias of al-Far, the "Al-Nasr" militia led by Mohammed Kashlaf al-Qasab, known as "the Emperor of Smuggling," and Caboat militia, near the al-Zawiya refinery and Rakina Island.

At the end of June, bloody festivities took place between al-Far and militias led by Mohammed Baraka, also known as al-Shalfouh, the most prominent militia in the city of al-Ajaylat.

In June, the Mayor of Ain Zara Municipality, Abdel-Wahid al-Balog was kidnapped by RADA forces, after they stormed the municipality’s headquarters and beat, insulted, and slandered a number of employees.

In June, the Tripoli Revolutionaries Brigade (TRB) stormed the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tripol

Iraq
Islamic State terrorists murder Iraqi police officer
[IsraelTimes] An Iraqi police officer was murdered about two weeks after the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
jihadist group kidnapped him, officials say.

The hard boy group had released photos purporting to show the decapitated body of Colonel Yasser al-Jourani, whom they had seized while he was hunting with friends in Iraq’s Hamrin region earlier this month.

One of his hunting companions was found rubbed out, while a second who had been tortured later died of his wounds, a security source tells AFP.

Africa Subsaharan
Rozhin: Film review:Granite
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[ColonelCassad] The film "Granite" was released about the trip of "tourists" to Mozambique in 2019, where they trained and supported local security forces in the fight against ISIS terrorists in the northern regions of Mozambique. The film continues the general line of propagation of influence of Russian contractors in African countries in the period after the start of operations in Syria in 2015, which actually opened the door for Russia to Africa.
The word tourists in quotes is a reference to the film Tourist, which is the call sign of the main character
SIGN OF THE TIMES.
If in Soviet times wars and conflicts in distant Africa (for example, in Angola) remained either unknown or little known to a wide range of citizens, then in the modern realities of universal informatization, many things become public knowledge very quickly. So it is with the events in Mozambique in the film "Granite". In fact, the active events that are going to be shown in the film took place there in 2019. And already in 2021, a feature film based on the theme will be released.

#1  Nice write-up Bad, gonna watch it.

Saw "Don't Look Up" on Netflix.
Two academic astronomers from Michigan State discover a world killer comet. They quickly also discover that the people and institutions which should be alarmed and responsive to an ELE are so jaded with information overload and interpersonal value inspection that few can be bothered.

Good performances by Leo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, actors whose work I seldom track and often choose to avoid.
