the only darked skin individual, of this era was the maid.
True. Partly it was institutional racism, but partly it’s because there are tricks to lighting darker skin so that it will photograph and film well, and most people to this day don’t know how to do that. (Neither do I, but Mr. Wife does. Apparently it’s to do with contrast and highlighting features — how the images are edited.)
[Babylon Bee] A spokesperson for Southwest Airlines has announced delays in flights due to strange weather that seems to pass over competitors’ planes, only affecting their own signature blue and orange aircraft. The airline has stated these delays have no connection to their pilots protesting vaccine mandates.
The spokesperson then announced a new Southwest Airlines incentive program for potential passengers: All flights, domestic or international, are free to any passenger who is vaccinated and can also fly a plane.
"The requirements to take advantage of these incredible savings are simple," said Southwest CEO Bob Southwest to a crowd of customers who have been stuck at the airport all weekend and were frothing at the mouth in anger. "Show us proof of vaccination against COVID-19 and promise us you know how fly commercial airliners, and your flight is on us."
The CEO then mentioned other skills that were not required, but beneficial: Experience calming herds of rabid, sleepless passengers, expertise in flying through mysterious, invisible weather events, and the ability to land the plane.

Its an entirely different kind of flying, altogether
Got it for the kids; ends up I use it most simulating dual props doing a medical emergency flight. The idea being learning how to do spotter drones for fire department.
[NYP] Last year marked the 40th anniversary of the release of "Airplane!," the comedy I wrote and directed with my brother Jerry and our friend Jim Abrahams. Just before the world shut down, Paramount held a screening at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, followed by a Q&A in which an audience member asked a question we never used to receive: "Could you make ’Airplane!’ today?"
My response: "Of course, we could. Just without the jokes."
Although people tell me that they love "Airplane!" and it seems to be included on just about every Top Five movie-comedy list, there was talk at Paramount of withholding the rerelease over feared backlash for scenes that today would be deemed "insensitive."
I’m referring to scenes like the one in which two black characters speak entirely in a jive dialect so unintelligible that it has to be subtitled. I’ve lost count of the number of people who have said to me, "You couldn’t do that scene today."
Sad truth is they couldn't even make the more watered down movies in this genre UHF or Don't Be A Menace. I had to watch Tropic Thunder the other day just to flush the vanilla from my system. Been catching East Europe/Russia/India/Korea films because they don't dribble in the nonsense. Even China has a decent movie here and there which isn't laden in propaganda.

You can still be yourself in select company. Once you retire and no longer have to worry about being fired, you can cut loose. Just don't, as has been pointed out here by many, put it out on social media.

Most of cancel culture is a small group of SJW with twitter accounts that magnifies their message and makes it look like they have broad support.
The people opposed to cancel culture need to get twitter accounts and drown out the SJW. Show everyone the anger brigade is small in numbers, embarrass and humiliate them for their lack of humor and tolerance and just outright call them a hater when appropriate.

People who oppose Cancel Culture aren't allowed on Twitter.
That's the whole point of Twitter's censorship - to filter out opposing views and magnify the SJW crowd far beyond their actual size.
[Philly Mag via InstaPundit] Since the 2020 presidential election, Democrats have demonized Republicans who raise concerns about election integrity. But a new report Wednesday said a staffer of one Philadelphia politician had been engaging in voter fraud as far back as 2015.
According to Philadelphia magazine, Marie Beren, 67, faces federal charges for participating in a voter fraud scheme from 2015-2019. The outlet said Beren faces four charges related to voter fraud, one of which is conspiracy.
Prosecutors said Beren and an unidentified "consultant" were involved in the voter fraud conspiracy. The complaint alleges the consultant "exercised influence and control in Philadelphia’s 39th Ward by distributing cash payments and supporting family, friends and allies for elective office in the 39th Ward, and installing Ward Leaders, Judges of Elections, and Democratic State Committee."
Prosecutors said that around 1984, this consultant "installed" Beren to the committee for the Democratic Party in the 39th Ward of Philadelphia. In 1988, the consultant helped Beren become the judge of elections for the second district in the 39th Ward.
According to Philadelphia, a judge of elections essentially serves as the head of a polling place for both the primary and general elections. Prosecutors said two other divisions also voted at the same polling place, making Beren a "de facto judge of elections" for all three.
After serving in that role for 27 years, Beren stepped down and became a poll watcher in 2015. At that point, prosecutors allege Beren hand-picked a replacement who would allow her to continue running the election process for the three divisions.
This setup allegedly remained the same from 2015-2019. Starting in 2015, the consultant began directing Beren to add fraudulent voters to certain candidates, some of whom were clients of the consultant.
On Election Day, the consultant would drive Beren to the polling place and tell her how to cast fraudulent votes. She then allegedly engaged in multiple illegal activities such as advising in-person voters to support a certain candidate, casting votes herself in other people’s names and encouraging voters to cast additional votes for family members who were not present.
At the end of the day, prosecutors said Beren and other unnamed workers would add names to the voting book of people who never came to the polling place. They allegedly did this to falsely match the number of fake votes cast.
While the alleged crimes occurred in the city of Philadelphia, the effects could potentially have been felt nationwide. Prosecutors said the fraud occurred "at every level of government, from municipal to state to federal," according to Philadelphia.
As of Wednesday, the outlet said prosecutors had not specified the number of fraudulent votes, nor whether any election results may have been altered by the scheme.

It's just ward elections, not 'real' elections, like the Presidency. No worries.
[SUMMIT] Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe warned Sunday that the Biden administration is putting national security at risk by buying Chinese drone technology for federal law enforcement use.
In an appearance on Fox News Ratcliffe urged that Chinese companies supplying the technology are likely relaying back information on U.S. critical infrastructure to the Chinese Communist Party.
"Like so much that Biden administration has done on national security lately, this makes very little sense," Ratcliffe warned.
He added, "It’s harmful to our national security. And also, Chinese drone technology is not as good as U.S. drone technology."
"It’s hard to make sense out of what’s doing this, other than it is consistent with the Biden administration taking a softer approach, trying to promote a false narrative that somehow China is a competitor and not an adversary," Ratcliffe further emphasised.

Sounds like a good way to inject Chinese hacks into our national security system. Of course using Chinese chips in US-made drones seems pretty risky too.
[PJ] If you have a broken brake light or headlight in Philadelphia, you no longer have to worry that you’ll be pulled over by police. The city council just passed a measure that would prevent the police from stopping anyone for a host of "minor" traffic offenses.
The impetus for the change comes from a single study performed by the Defender Association of Philadelphia. The group gives free legal representation to defendants in the city. They found that a disproportionate number of black drivers were stopped compared to white drivers.
WHY:
Black drivers represented 72% of the stops with an arrest rate of 1%, according to Bradford-Grey. Only 15% of the stops were white drivers with a .98% arrest rate.
When it came to tickets issued because of these stops, Black drivers made up 9% of tickets while white drivers made up 14% of fines issued.
"When they stopped white drivers, they were for more legitimate purposes and they actually did things that advance those public safety measures," said former Chief Defender Keir Bradford-Grey testified Wednesday at a hearing convened by the City Council’s Committee on Public Safety. The hearing drew many supporters, including Philadelphia Police Department officials who had questioned the bill in the past.
The police are happy with the law because it makes their jobs safer and frees them up to tackle more serious criminal activity. But viewing a list of infractions that will no longer be enforced raises serious questions.

In all honesty why waste time stopping any person for a simple tail light violation. When in this day and age a photo of the License tag and burnt out light can be mailed to the violator victim. If they don't pay in 90 days, then issue a stop and detain and impound warrant.
It also cuts down on the #1 or #2 most common police location that results a LEO shooting and BLM riots.

rudy guiliani started the new york clean up by enforcing minor violations not by ignoring them. We need a new country and new york, Philadelphia, boston, san francisco, LA, portland and seattle not invited.

Broken tail light etc. have long been a standard legal excuse to pull over someone you want a closer look at (I was pulled for a burnt out license plate light not long ago, the trooper and I were respectful with each other, he took a quick look around my van and determined I wasn't hauling illegal aliens or bales of pot, and gave me a warning ticket.) As such, I suspect the SJWs are right that the inequity of stops is 'unjust'. That said, there is no inequity of violations charged - 1% for both groups. Left unsaid is anything about the number of serious arrests- murder warrant fugitives etc. - made as a result of such stops.
Curious that this automotive 'stop & frisk' is going away just as Biden's $600 account financial 'stop & frisk' is starting up.

I have a plastic tub in the back of my Jeep with a 5000 lb tow strap, bungees, and at least one of every outside light bulb for the vehicle. And a tool kit. I've never been stopped for a burned-out light, but I bet if I was, and said "Office, I'll fix it right now," and showed him / her I could, I'd be told to get lost and do it at home, not on the side of the road.

I was stopped at night by a State Trooper because I had no trailer lights. For some reason my trailer brakes locked up while driving that night (it is an enclosed horse trailer) and the only way I could get them to unlock was to unplug the truck to trailer connection. I was about 8 miles from home. I showed him that when I plugged the trailer in the wheels locked yp. He told me to spend about 15 minutes looking like I was working on it and the to drive carefully. I have plenty of reflectors on the back.

[American Thinker] Thirty years of litigation work in the San Francisco Bay Area, which some might consider Ground Zero for activist judges, left me with a deep and abiding disrespect for leftist judges who are more concerned with their prejudices and feelings, than with facts and law. Two recent stories perfectly exemplify this.
The first story involves an Obama appointee who is reaming people arrested because they dared to do what leftists always do: Enter government property, including the Capitol, to protest. The second involves a father who is being barred access to his son until he gets a totally unnecessary vaccine.
Tanya S. Chutkan sits on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and has been there since Barack Obama appointed her in 2014. She is a stone-cold leftist. In 2017, she ordered the Office of Refugee Resettlement ("ORR") to ensure that a girl in its care got an abortion. Eventually, she ordered the government to make sure that all girls in ORR custody got to have abortions.
Chutkan also ruled against Betsy DeVos because Chutkan felt DeVos wasn’t doing enough to identify racial disparities in children identified for special ed, restrictive classrooms, and discipline. One of the things we know is that ending discipline based on race has been a disaster for schools.
Another Chutkan initiative was to try to block the federal death penalty by claiming that the federal government, by changing its lethal injection protocol, was violating the Federal Death Penalty Act. That decision is now pending before the United States Supreme Court.
But it’s Chutkan’s latest acts of leftism from the bench that are truly disgusting because they punish political opponents: She is imposing harsher sentences on people swept up in the January 6 dragnet than even Merrick Garland’s prosecutors are seeking. Leftists storming the Senate chamber during Brett Kavanaugh’s hearings were exercising their First Amendment rights and avoided serious consequences. Walking through the Capitol if you’re a conservative is a dire crime that must be punished severely.
Chutkan’s take on things is hard left, as happened with Matthew Mazzocco, who was charged with "parading":

Chutkan supports every radical leftest and Obama cause that makes it way to her bench. Want a clue as to where this may be headed? What type of causes and justice do you suppose these people support ?

Pound for pound federal district judges are the most powerful figures in the federal system. You can't vote them out of office. No one can fire them. You can impeach them, but only if you have videotape from multiple angles of them sticking their hands deeply into the cookie jar. And the most the appellate courts can do is reverse their rulings and fuss at them. An issue that doesn't get discussed very often is how cases are allotted within a district to specific judges -- it should be basically random, but is it?

Pima County, AZ had mail-in ballot return rates of OVER 100%!
40 precincts had mail-in ballot returns OVER 97% -- totally impossible
Of course this is where Biden "outperformed." When the rates are normal, Trump beats GOP rates by 3%, Biden trails Dem rates by 3% pic.twitter.com/fSbhzNwCFB

Actually, much if it DID come out immediately -- but it was labeled "misinformation" and any Republican official who raised was vilified as rayciss.
See the example of the Detroit / Wayne County election official who was physically threatened, publicly, in a viral video, at length by her Democrat thug - colleague on the Election Board.
[Townhall] President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S. Former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect hacked up by the World's Greatest Deliberative Body. The guy who single-handedly lost Afghanistan...... on Thursday addressed the "unacceptably high number" of unvaccinated people in America and said his mandate for the private sector will go into effect "soon."
While "daily cases are down 47 percent" nationally, and "hospitalizations are down 38 percent over the past six weeks," Biden said there are still 66 million unvaccinated Americans. This is down from 100 million in July.
Insisting that his vaccine mandates are working, Biden said the Department of Labor will "soon be issuing an emergency rule" for private sector companies with 100 or more employees.
So there still is no mandate, just the promise threat of one sometime in the nebulous future? And all those companies have been getting rid of much-needed staff in anticipation of something that might never happen? Oh, to be a lawyer looking at any of these class action suits!
#1
So we are at 80% vaccination rate now? And up to half the unvaccinated may be people who were infected and recovered? What is the threshold for herd immunity now? I haven't kept up with all the goalpost moves.
#2
Glenmore, the restrictions MIGHT be lifted when:
1. 100% vaccination rate - NO exceptions.
1a. 100% booster shots administered
2. Zero COVID related deaths
3. Zero COVID related hospitalizations (including people who are admitted with other conditions who happen to have COVID)
4. Zero COVID cases
Until then, the lock downs, mask mandates, social distancing and other things will continue (except for the elite, of course). Governors and health commissioners are having way too much fun playing dictator.

So there still is no mandate, just the promise threat of one sometime in the nebulous future?
Given the actions of various airlines and other large corporations, I'm starting to wonder if there wasn't some back-channel communication from the Biden Admin to the CEOS. Could be the CEOs are just piling on the woke nonsense, but it is curious they all seem to be reading from the same playbook as far as alleged 'mandates' are concerned.
#5
they all seem to be reading from the same playbook
Here I thought I was the conspiracy guy.
However it would be kinda fun to correlate CV deaths/disablements work profiles with the supply chain staffing issues AND the legal/illegal immigrant (Afgan, Haitian, Mexican, et. al.) replacement workforce.
Flatten the curve!! Done. All flat. Can we go out now?
Wait for the vaccine!! Got it -- done. Can we please open now?
Booster shots!! Mmmmmmkay... how many?
STOP ASKING, PEASANT. This is the new reality. Shut up and do as you're told.

The Gaza border has been relatively quiet recently. Israel and the Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede, terror group, which rules Gaza, have fought four wars since 2008, the most recent in May of this year. Hamas has demanded the easing of the blockade as part of an informal ceasefire brokered by Egypt. Israel has lifted some restrictions since the end of the 11-day war while warning that any broader easing depends on continued calm.
The sides are holding talks about maintaining the calm through Egyptian mediators.

[Daily Mail UK] Cops arrest 'Somalian man, 25' after Tory MP was stabbed repeatedly at his church constituency surgery amid screams from onlookers as police launch 'immediate' security review for all politicians
Counter terrorism officers are tonight leading the investigation into the murder of Tory MP Sir David Amess, as forces across the country are being urged to launch an 'immediate review' of security for politicians.
It comes after horrified onlookers screamed for help as they tried to save the Conservative MP who was brutally stabbed to death in front of them at his Southend constituency surgery.
The popular politician - who won at the last general election with a margin of 14,000 votes - was knifed 'multiple times' by a 25-year-old killer - believed to be of a British national of Somali heritage, according to the BBC.
His attacker sprinted into the church and stabbed him to death during his weekly surgery as constituents watched in horror. "It appears he was high on Islam khat"
The Tory MP for Southend West, 69, was meeting locals at the Belfairs Methodist Church, in Eastwood Road North, Leigh-on-Sea, when it happened just at 12.05pm.
Paramedics worked to save the politician on the floor of the Essex church for more than an hour but he could not be saved after the appalling attack, which has left the stalwart MP's local community in shock.
Tonight a group of 80 mourners have gathered to attend a short-notice vigil in nearby St Peters Catholic Church, where Sir David, who has represented the constituency since 1997, was affectionately referred to as 'Mr Southend'.
[M.NAHARNET] Hizbullah ...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory... Executive Council head Sayyed Hashem Safieddine on Friday accused the rival Lebanese Forces A Christian political party founded by Bashir Gemayel, who was then bumped off when he was elected president of Leb... party of carrying out "a deliberate and flagrant massacre" in a "calculated and premeditated ambush targeted against civilians."He was speaking at the funeral of several people killed in Thursday’s fierce festivities in the Tayyouneh area.
Hizbullah and Amal Movement have accused the LF of deploying snipers on rooftops and opening fire on protesters, while the Lebanese Forces has denied involvement in the festivities while noting that Ain el-Remmaneh’s residents defended themselves in the face of an "invasion" by the supporters of the two groups.
Safieddine said the alleged "ambush" points to "lowness and stupidity," adding that "those who target civilians are not heroes but rather cowards."
"The LF party sought to stir a new civil war in Leb ...The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady days of human sacrifice to Baal Moloch... ... and perhaps its defeated masters in the region had rushed it to do this step," the Hizbullah official added, noting that Lebanese security agencies possessed information that the LF had been planning to "stir civil war."
He added: "Those who committed the crime know that we have prudence, and had the criminals known that we would engage in war with them, they would not have dared, seeing as they are too low to stand in the face of these men and woman who defeated the Zionist enemy and the American schemes in the region."
Calling on security and judicial authorities to "bring the criminals to justice," Safieddine warned that "any procrastination in this matter" will be considered "partnership in shedding this innocent blood." He also vowed that Hizbullah will follow up on the issue.
"The scene that we witnessed yesterday was one of the episodes run by the United States and financed by some Arabs," Safieddine charged, while noting that Hizbullah "will not be dragged into sectarian strife nor civil war" although it "will not let the blood of our aggrieved go in vain."
Addressing the "international and regional sponsors of these attacks," the Hizbullah official added: "We will not let you take the country to strife."
"Everyone in Lebanon must know and act on the basis that there is a side and party in Lebanon that is working for the Americans and Arab sides and wants to take the country to strife and civil war," Safieddine added, in reference to the Lebanese Forces.
[IsraelTimes] Two of the escapees reportedly reached out to PM Shtayyeh via an intermediary, pleading for sanctuary: He is said to have replied: ’We don’t want complications and deaths’
Two of the Paleostinian prisoners who beat feet from an Israeli jail last month attempted to request sanctuary from the Paleostinian Authority leadership but were rebuffed, according to a report Wednesday.
Citing the interrogation of the six recaptured prisoners, Kan news reported that two of the escapees contacted PA Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh through an intermediary while on the run, and requested protection.
According to the report, Shtayyeh turned the intermediary down, telling him "It’s a complex issue. We don’t want complications and deaths."
Kan said the two escapees recounted the story separately to interrogators.
The broadcaster also provided further details on the escapees’ accounts of events based on leaked transcripts of their interrogations, following earlier leaks of their comments.
The six split up into three groups of two after fleeing Gilboa Prison, heading in different directions. One of the men, Yaqoub Qadiri, told interrogators that he and another runaway hid for an entire day just outside a military base in the country’s north. The pair dug a hole beneath some bushes near the base’s fence and camped out there, assuming no one would think to look for them so close to an army post.
Qadiri claimed that if they had wanted to, they could have harmed an Israeli soldier, Kan reported.
Another recaptured runaway, Munadil Nafayat, said that upon reaching Jenin, he and his partner saw reports on their escape in the news, alongside claims he said had no connection to reality.
"Journalists reported on things we planned to do when we never planned to do them," he said, according to Kan. "For example, they said we wanted to cross to Jenin, when we were seeking protective custody from the Paleostinian Authority," which has less control over the northern West Bank city.
The daring September 6 escape, which ended with the capture of the last two inmates some two weeks later, has been seen as a major failure by Israel’s prison service, which was blamed for both allowing inmates to tunnel out through their cell’s drainage system and an empty space underneath the prison, and failing to notice or alert authorities in time.
A bunch of new names to add to the Rantburg archives.

Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede, is gaining a foothold in southern Lebanon, establishing a military infrastructure in the past year-and-a-half, according to a new report from the ALMA Research Center, an Israeli think tank that specializes in security threats on the northern border.
The report states that Hamas was likely behind a series of five rocket attacks aimed at northern Israel in May, July and August.
The Gaza-based terrorist group has an active "Construction Bureau," headed by Majed Qader Mahmoud Qader, who recently moved to Lebanon from Istanbul. Two units of the Construction Bureau contain hundreds of operatives — al-Shimali and Khaled Ali.
The al-Shimali unit is headed by William Abu Shanab and the Khaled Ali unit is commanded by Muhammed Hamed Jabara.
The two units are responsible for recruitment and training and also operating drones and rockets.
According to the report, many if not all of the rockets fired since May were launched without the knowledge of Hezbollah, which could indicate a rift between the two terrorist organizations.
The Construction Bureau is covertly based out of Paleostinian refugee camps in Lebanon. The activities are kept hidden from the Lebanese authorities and Hezbollah, which the report states "has the potential of creating a severely difficult challenge for Hezbollah."
However, there's more than one way to skin a cat... the Iranian Quds force ultimately manages the activities of the two groups as the Islamic Theocratic Republic's proxies on Israel's borders, security analysts suggest.
The recent rocket attacks on northern Israel launched by Paleostinian Death Eaters in Lebanon include three rockets fired toward the town of Nahariya on May 13; two rockets fired toward Central Galilee on May 17; four rockets fired toward Acre and Haifa on May 19; two rockets fired toward Western Galilee on July 19; and most recently three rockets fired toward Kiryat Shmona on August 4.

[KavkazUzel] Natives of Chechnya are suspected of trying to arrange lynching a police officer who collided with the car of their compatriot in a private car in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, investigators said.
The accident occurred on October 14 at about 20.00 Moscow time at an intersection in the city of Pyt-Yakh, one of the participants in which was a police officer in a private car.

[TRENDINGPOLITICS] On Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki ...a valley girl who woke up one morning and found she was spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of State under Obama. A new American success story, under Biden she became spokeswoman for the whole administration, and she was even able to get her sister a job... claimed gas prices aren’t surging "in all parts" of the country. This, like everything else she says, is fake news."The American people are -of course- impacted by rising prices of gas, in some parts of the country, not all!" she said.
Fact check: Gas prices are up 41%.
Maybe SHE doesn’t feel the pain because of her high salary and her personal chauffeur, but every day Americans are struggling with the price increase.

[Korrespondent] The head of state believes that "the legislation of Ukraine that is loyal to smugglers must be changed."
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy initiates the introduction of punishment in the form of 20 years in prison for smuggling. This was announced on Friday, October 15, by the chairman of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov during a break between the broadcasts of the political talk show Svoboda Savik Shuster.
Danilov noted that the president considers Ukrainian legislation too loyal to smugglers and proposes to tighten it.
"After we introduced sanctions against smugglers in April, customs revenues to the state budget increased by UAH 47 billion. We would like it to be more, but for now the figure is this. And we will not stop there," he said. Danilov.
Danilov also announced that "certain individuals will lose their positions" in the fight against smuggling.
"This is such a complex legacy, the system is built. It is such an octopus, which is extremely difficult to fight. They all know each other, they have been there for years. And when we took someone by the tail, it’s like a hydra - it grows a new tail," - said the NSDC secretary.
Let us remind you that flight attendants who tried to import contraband iPhones into Ukraine were detained at the Boryspil airport.

[Regnum] On June 7, US President Theodore Roosevelt invited the belligerents to gather in a conference to discuss the terms of peace. Tokyo immediately agreed to Washington's proposal. In this situation, on May 30 (June 12), Nicholas II was forced to accept the invitation to peace talks. At the insistence of Japan, the city of Portsmouth on the Pacific coast of the United States was chosen as the place of negotiations - the Japanese did not want to transfer them to Europe.

It has been many years since I had read the History of The Russo Japanese War. China played its part as it normally did. That is basically why I have such a low opinion of them today. Look at Biden what he is doing as an contemporary example. Greed, graft, corruption are all in play. Getting anything done or corrected is at best an afterthought.
[Interesting Engineering] Lethal. Sustainable. Affordable. Three words Bell used to describe its recently-unveiled upgraded 360 Invictus stealth helicopter model.
Showcasing the 360 Invictus at the recent AUSA 2021 Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington, D.C., Bell disclosed its 360 Invictus program is moving swiftly through manufacturing, assembly, components testing, and system integrations. It looks like the U.S. Army will receive its new helicopter on time in the fall for future stealth attack reconnaissance missions.
"The Bell 360 Invictus is an exciting aircraft that brings sophisticated digital systems together in a high-speed, reliable, maintainable vehicle for austere environments around the world," Jayme Gonzalez, program manager of Bell 360 Invictus, said to Defence Blog.

[Freedom Front] The Private Security Industry Regulation Amendment Bill that was signed into law by President Cyril Ramaphosa yesterday, is not well thought out and could deal the industry a severe blow. The amendments are based on unfounded information about, among other things, shares in the industry that are reportedly held by foreign companies and could result in great job losses.
Regarding the government's argument that foreign shareholding of more than 50% poses a threat to South Africa's state security, July's unrest and riots showed that the biggest threat to the state lies in its own ranks.
Even in the draft phase of the Bill, important information about the extent of foreign shareholding and how many job losses would result could not be provided to the Portfolio Committee on Police. No research had been conducted.
In addition, the fast-growing private security industry is of the ANC government's own making seeing as it failed to combat crime and ensure the public's safety effectively.
In South Africa, there are presently about three security guards for every one police officer due to the fact that the ANC government failed to perform its constitutional duty to protect the public against criminals. As a result, the people pay double for their safety and security.
At a time when the unemployment rate in South Africa is among the highest in the world and crime is flourishing due to a lack of effective police action, there is no logic in the President signing the Bill. It shows that he is ignorant of what the actual crime situation in South Africa is like. It is ordinary citizens, the ones who are not surrounded by bodyguards, whose safety is threatened.
Various companies' vested interests have been jeopardised, so stakeholders will most probably put the amendment to the test in the Constitutional Court. Foreign ownership concerns among people living under communist domination. Imagine that !

"Naturalized citizens deserve finality and security in their rights as citizens," the memo says. "Department policies should not cause a chilling effect or barriers for lawful permanent residents seeking to naturalize."

[BIZPACREVIEW] To borrow from "Dirty" Harry Callahan, Beto O’Rourke; ...Kennedyeque businessman, musician, skateboard artiste, and politician who represented Texas' 16th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019. Beto is a Latino nickname for people whose names end in "erto," like "Roberto" or "Alberto." He is seeking the Dem nomination for President in 2020 because he has nice hair and lots of teeth. He was born into a local political family in El Paso, Texas and is a graduate of a prep school and Columbia University, which is not in Texas. In 2005, he was elected to the El Paso City Council. He was elected to Congress in 2012 after defeating eight-term incumbent Silvestre Reyes in the Democratic primary. He declined to seek re-election in 2018, instead running for the Senate against Republican Ted Cruz, running a campaign that drew national attention because of his skateboarding skills. A few months after he lost, he announced his campaign for President... is a legend in his own mind.Robert Francis (Beto) O’Rourke is just one of many in the cult of politicians — along with Crooked Hillary Clinton ...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away. Politix is not one of her talents, but it's something she keeps trying to do... — who simply refuse to exit the game of politics with some dignity. Much like the failed Democratic presidential nominee in the presidential race of 2016, Beto has never considered himself a factor in losing the elections he was trying to win.
Instead, he wants to make sure that any future voters know that it’s their fault he hasn’t won anything of significance yet.
Having already lost to Sen. Ted Cruz; ...US Senator from Texas. Republican contender for president in 2016, his stiff and abrasive manner earned him the title most hated man in the Senate. After a close win over Beto O'Rourke, who tried to out-Lastino him, he grew a beard and let his biting wit shine through. Cruz's comments have been known to leave life-threatening wounds at better than forty feet... (R-TX) in the U.S. Senate election of 2018, as well as his forgettable run for president in 2020, he’s trying to prove he can fail sideways by running for governor of Texas in a bid to unseat incumbent Governor Greg Abbott ... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too... in the 2022 gubernatorial election.
The Twitter handle "BetoMedia" posted a tweet Tuesday showing the candidate responding to a group of hecklers during a speech. In his customary fashion of yacking while his hands do the talking, O’Rourke punted back:
"You know, what you’re showing us is that YOU’RE AFRAID OF ME and you’re afraid of the people here. What are you afraid of? What are you afraid of?"
[M.NAHARNET] The stance of Hizbullah ...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory... and Amal Movement is "a righteous demand that serves the higher national interest as to security and stability and thwarts the strife scheme whose threads are American and is being implemented with domestic Lebanese tools," sources close to the Shiite duo said."Some of these tools are judicial and not limited to Judge (Tarek) Bitar while the other tools are non-judicial," the sources told al-Joumhouria newspaper in remarks published Friday.
"Had Cabinet on Tuesday taken the right measure by tasking the Justice Minister to do everything necessary to put an end to Judge Bitar’s violations, which are aimed at dragging the country into strife, what happened today would not have happened," the sources added, referring to the deadly Tayyounehfestivities.
"We will not back down from our stance, especially after what happened, and the head of strife (Bitar) must be removed," the sources went on to say.
The sources also said that what happened in Tayyouneh was "a new and edited version of the (1975) Ain al-Remmaneh bus incident."
"Was it not for our wisdom, we would have descended into something much more dangerous," the sources added.
The sources also called on President Michel Aoun ...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah... to "pull us out of this inferno" after "all the details and circumstances have become clear to him."
"Bitar is serving an agenda targeted against the country’s security and stability," the sources added, addressing Aoun.
[NYPOST] In the midst of the 2020 St. George Floyd ...the patron saint of Minneapolis, a sterling example for our children and indeed for us all. St. George was martyed by the Devil's agents in blue while standing on a street corner preaching tolerance and racial justice or something like that... protests, New York’s City Council demanded in a pique of illiberalism that Mayor de Blasio remove a statue of Thomas Jefferson from City Hall. Never one to shy away from a horrible idea, Hizzoner is now honoring this deeply anti-American request.
Thomas Jefferson. The author of the Declaration of Independence, the third president, and ironically, a founder of what is today the Democratic Party.
I suppose one can see why Blas would have disdain for Jefferson. After all he was a political figure with enormous accomplishments, while the mayor is best known for flushing two decades of progress in Gotham down the toilet in his two terrible terms.
De Blasio is acting like a guy in an action movie walking slowly away from a fire he set, adding statue toppling to his long resume of risible decisions as mayor.
Mayor de Blasio is pushing the Thomas Jefferson statue out from City Hall’s Council chambers.
But honestly, this has very little to do with Jefferson, or statues at all. This destruction of history symbolizes a progressive left that wishes to stamp out anyone it dislikes with Puritan zeal.
The idea that deeply flawed people, even by the standards of their own day, can do extraordinary and good things is as ancient as history and storytelling itself. The King David of the Bible commits terrible acts, adultery and murder among them, and yet still emerged as a heroic figure. History and its characters are complicated.
This is about far more than American history, it is about our basic humanity.
We celebrate Jefferson not because he owned slaves, but because he wrote the higher ideals in the Declaration to which this country has aspired.

[BenarNews] Information obtained from a convicted pro-Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... bully boy led to the seizure of 35 kilos of home-made explosives at the foot of a mountain in West Java province earlier this month, Indonesian police said Wednesday.
Prisoner Imam Mulyana, a member of Jamaah Ansharut Daulah ...founded by our old friend Abu Bakar Bashir of Al Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiyah fame, JAD translates cleverly as Partisans of the Islamic State, but really only means (Wink! Wink!) ISIS in Indonesia... (JAD), an Indonesian bully boy network affiliated with the so-called Islamic State (IS) group, was arrested in 2017 in Cirebon, a city in West Java, for a failed attempt ...Curses! Foiled again!... to attack an entourage of President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo.
"Imam made an astonishing confession that he and his group had kept 35 kilograms of TATP," said Aswin Siregar, a top officer with Densus 88, Indonesia’s elite anti-terrorism police unit.
Imam guided the police to Mount Ciremai near Cirebon to find the stash of triacetone triperoxide (TATP), a powerful home-made explosive known to Lions of Islam as the Mother of Satan, Aswin told BenarNews.
TATP, which is highly unstable, has been used in several terrorist attacks in recent years. These include the 2005 London Underground bombing, terror attacks in Gay Paree in 2015, attacks on the Brussels metro and airport in 2016, and a bombing the next year at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England, according to New America, a Washington think-tank.
"Thanks to our de-radicalization efforts, Imam Mulyana asked us on October 1 to secure the dangerous material," said Aswin, who heads the operational support at Densus 88, which also runs a program to reform Lions of Islam and reintegrate them into society.
Imam traveled with the police to the mountain hideout the same day. Aswin said that a police bomb-squad disposed of the stash of TATP in the mountain as soon as the authorities found it.
Only 50 grams of the materiel was enough to create a one-meter-wide and 20-centimeter-deep hole when detonated in a controlled explosion, Aswin said, adding the blasts from disposing of the explosive caused severe vibrations, holes in the ground, and landslides.
Imam, 31, "was fully aware that the terrorist act they had planned was a crime against humanity and a betrayal of his religion," Aswin said.
Stanislaus Riyanta, a security researcher at the University of Indonesia, praised the police for their work.
"This is proof that [the bully boys] had a big plan. This finding should prompt the police to look for more explosive stashes," Stanislaus told BenarNews.

We were talking the aluminum foil drawer; one of my favorite parts about being raised by someone who survived The Great Depression and The Dust Bowl, was wondering what would be in the butter tub. Could be leftovers. Could be veggies. Could be fat. It was never butter.
The worst was the tolerance for spoiled food. When I would visit, there was always a chance for a surprise, especially the dairy. Salad dressing lasts a lot longer than you think....but not forever. My favorite, coming inside on a hot day of goofing off. Big ol drink of that ice cold chocolate milk. Well, its not chunky, but give it a day. Too Famous: The Rich, the Powerful, the Wishful, the Damned, the Notorious, by Michael Wolff will lift the lid on billionaire Jeffrey Epstein's final months
The book, out October 19, claims Epstein thought there was 'a deal to be made' over his sex trafficking charges, including turning against Trump and Clinton
According to Wolff, who recounts his visits to Epstein's homes in NYC and Paris, the pedophile believed there were two scenarios behind his 2019 arrest
He thought though the Trump White House, through the DOJ, was trying to get Epstein 'to flip and reveal the sex secrets of Bill Clinton,' Wolff writes
The other scenario was that New York prosecutors, who were investigating Trump's business affairs, ordered his arrest to 'pressure him to flip on Trump'
Wolff recalls a visit to Epstein's NYC home in 2019 where he heard discussions with Steve Bannon and former Israeli PM Ehud Barak on how to restore his image
One suggestion was for Epstein to appear on 60 Minutes, CBS This Morning or to be interviewed by Rachel Maddow, but Bannon said it would be tough

[FoxNews] Dozens of activists protesting fossil fuel projects were arrested Thursday in Washington, D.C., after they staged a sit-in at the Interior Department, a move that led to "multiple injuries" and at least one law enforcement officer being transported to a hospital.
Demanding that President Biden declare climate change an emergency, People vs. Fossil Fuels, the group responsible for the protest, organized a week-long series of demonstrations against the president as he approves different fossil fuel projects.
Following the protest, Interior Department spokeswoman Melissa Schwartz released a statement through a series of tweets.
"Early this afternoon, a group of protestors entered the Stewart Lee Udall Main Interior Building," Schwartz wrote. "Federal Protective Service personnel responded to the area to mitigate the situation. Multiple injuries were sustained by security personnel, and one officer has been transported to a nearby hospital. Medics representing both the Department and the protesters were present."
According to video footage from The Washington Post's Ellie Silverman, activists could be seen climbing up doors and pushing officers back as they tried to force their way into the Interior Department.
“Let’s go!” one protester yells while trying to climb in through the door. People cheer in support and crowd the steps as police continue to physically block the one entrance that is not locked. pic.twitter.com/aye5ydPKSa

Event organizers alleged that "police tased and hit multiple people with batons" and "55 people were arrested and taken away to DC Metro police stations."
"Police acted aggressively with the water protectors and indigenous leaders, tasing at least two people and hitting others with batons," the group claimed. "An independent indigenous media person was assaulted by the police and had his equipment broken."
Fox News reached out to the Federal Protective Service (FPS) and received the following statement:
"Yesterday, officers from the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Protective Service (FPS) responded to a demonstration at the Stewart L. Udall Building. FPS is committed to the safety of demonstrators participating in lawful protests and fully supports the peaceful expression of all people. FPS will continue to pursue our mission of ensuring the safety and security of federal employees and facilities, consistent with the law."
In the statement, FPS also offered appreciation for U.S. Park Police and Washington Metropolitan Police Department who assisted in efforts "to detain, prosecute or take action against anyone who caused harm and attempted to disrupt the business of the federal government yesterday."

There aren't going to be many more of these, as the Center no longer needs support from the Peripheral to beat down the Subsidiary. (See de Jouvenel's On Power for more.) Or to speak in plain English: the State no longer needs help from groups like BLM, Antifa, and the amusingly named "People vs. Fossil Fuels" to terrify local governments, small businesses, the middle-class, and so forth.
Expect funding to dry up for these groups until they are needed again. Expect to hear little about them from the Media... until they are needed again. Heard much about BLM's anti vaccine mandate protests on MSNBC or CNN? No? That's because they aren't needed at the moment.

[Garowe] Kenya Defense Force (KDF) spokesperson Esther Wanjiku said the incident took place between Milimani and Baure areas in Lamu East.
Wanjiku said an unknown number of soldiers operating under the security operation encountered the IED attack that was planted by suspected Shabaab Lions of Islam while on routine patrols.
The injured soldier has been evacuated to the Defense Forces Memorial hospital in Nairobi for specialized treatment, she said in a brief statement.

[FoxNews] The U.S. Marine who posted videos on social media criticizing military leadership and the Biden administration’s withdrawal of military assets from Afghanistan was issued a letter of reprimand and a forfeiture of $5,000 worth of pay for one month, after pleading guilty to all charges during his court-martial hearing this week.
Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller Jr. pled guilty to all six misdemeanor-level charges Thursday, including willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer, dereliction in the performance of duties and conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman.
The judge, on Friday, said he would have given a two-month forfeiture of pay, had it not been for the nine days Scheller spent in pre-trial confinement. Scheller was freed from the brig last week where he was being held for violating an agreement to stop posting criticism on social media.
The judge said he does not condone Scheller’s offenses, but noted his 17 year USMC career, saying that prior to his social media incident, he was an officer with an outstanding record — a record, he said, he weighed heavily.
The letter of reprimand was much less than what was recommended. The prosecution recommended a forfeiture of $5,000 of pay for 6 months and a letter of reprimand. The maximum penalty could have been forfeiture of 2/3 monthly pay for 12 months and a letter of reprimand.
#7
So he essentially has the option of staying in the USMC at the 05 level to make his 20. Waiting him upon retirement is the 2+million referenced above. The cost, 5000 and a letter of reprimand that stalls him forever at 05. Wow, not a bad outcome and his peers will not be hard on him in whatever BS assignment they give him to hide him away since he said mostly what they thought.

[FoxNews] More species will be vaccinated soon, the National Zoo said.
The Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute vaccinated several of their primates against COVID-19 this week, saying it was just the beginning of animal coronavirus inoculations at its locations.
The zoo announced in a press release Friday that staff administered the first round of two-dose shots to 11 animals on Wednesday: seven orangutans, a western lowland gorilla, one white-eared titi monkey and two emperor tamarins.
The vaccine used was developed specifically for animals by Michigan-based veterinary pharmaceutical company Zoetis after the company saw that a dog in China contracted the virus early in the pandemic.
Zoetis said in a press release in July that its shots were authorized on a "case-by-case basis by the United States Department of Agriculture" for an array of zoo animals, but said the shots are "not needed in pets or livestock at this time."
The National Zoo also provided a status update on the lions and tigers under its care that had tested "presumptive positive" for COVID-19 last month, saying the big cats were "recovering well" and "behaving, eating and drinking normally."
"Vaccines will continue to be administered to select animals identified as susceptible species at the Zoo and at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Front Royal, Virginia, in the coming months," the zoo explained, adding that "the lions and tigers will receive the vaccine no sooner than 90 days post-infection."
Zoos in different parts of the country have increasingly been vaccinating myriad species with the Zoetis vaccine.
The Denver Zoo and Oakland Zoo used the jab on some of their animals over the summer, CBS News reported, and the Denver Zoo is planning to do the same.
FOX 35 reported Thursday that ZooTampa has also begun vaccinating its animals.
"Species such as Florida panthers, skunks, otters and primates are on top of the list to vaccinate," Fox 35 reported. "The zoo has received enough doses to vaccinate roughly 19 species which includes 93 animals."
I'll at least give them credit for realizing the obvious, even if they had to be pushed in that direction by a court order.

Wait we need $24.6million a month tents in Texas to reinstate a remain in Mexico policy? The mind boggles at what the American people will tolerate.
The Texas House approved legislation, titled HB 25 on Thursday that would restrict transgender student athlete participation in school sports
House Bill 25, backed by Texas Republicans passed with a 76-54 vote after ten hours of emotional debate
It largely focuses on preventing trans girls from participate in female sports
Texas is home to the second-largest LGBTQ population in the country
The new law still needs final approval from the Texas Senate, which has previously approved similar legislation.
Eight states, all backed by Republican legislatures, have brought legislation targeting transgender athletes into effect, while South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem signed an executive order similar to those laws in March this year

[Times of Israel] Leb ...In 2020 Hezbollah blew up a considerable portion of Beirut and many of its inhabitants when its ammonium nitrate facility exploded. They blamed it on... somebody else. It wasn't them though. Trust them on that. And it ain't never coming to trial... buried on Friday the victims of its deadliest sectarian unrest in years after gunfire gripped central Beirut for hours and revived the ghosts of the civil war.
Seven people died and dozens were maimed as a result of violence that erupted Thursday following a rally by Shiite protesters demanding the dismissal of the judge investigating last year’s devastating Beirut port blast.
The Shiite Amal and Hezbollah terror groups that organized the protest in front of the Justice Palace accused the Lebanese Forces A Christian political party founded by Bashir Gemayel, who was then bumped off when he was elected president of Leb... (LF) Christian party of engineering the chaos by aiming sniper fire at the demonstrators.
"This massacre was committed by the LF movement," senior Hezbollah official Hashem Safieddine said during a Beirut funeral on Friday, accusing the party of seeking to "start a civil war."
"We will not be dragged into sectarian strife... but at the same time we cannot allow the blood of our (deaders) to go to waste," he added.
In Beirut’s southern suburbs, Hezbollah held burials for two of its members as well as a woman who was shot in the head by a stray bullet while she was standing on her balcony.
Hundreds of mourners chanting in support of the Iran-backed group carried caskets wrapped in the party’s yellow flag as prayers rang out from loudspeakers.
Gun shots were had gun sex and flowers were laid on top of caskets at other funerals held in southern and eastern Lebanon for three Amal Movement supporters who died in the flareup.
The LF has strenuously denied any involvement in Thursday’s violence and said Hezbollah was "invading" off-limits neighborhoods when the violence broke out.
A heavy army presence was visible on the streets Friday amid fears of an escalation.
HYSTERIA
On Thursday, Amal and Hezbollah fighters filled the streets in their hundreds around Tayouneh, a notorious civil war flashpoint near the spot where the April 1975 bus attack often presented as the trigger of the conflict occurred.
As a deluge of bullets riddled residential facades, and gaggles of fighters wearing ammunition vests took over the streets and emptied their magazines haphazardly, civilians crouched in homes, terrified.
When bursts of gunfire rang out near her Adlieh home, Jumanah Zabaneh, 45, rushed out to the street, braving stray bullets, to pick up her two daughters. She didn’t stop running until she arrived at the school, where she said scenes of "hysteria" played out. The way back home was packed with danger.
"The gunfire was so close, we had to duck every two meters," she said. "We hid behind cars, at the entrances to buildings, behind utility poles."
La Belle France, the US and UN appealed for de-escalation but also insisted on allowing the port explosion investigation to continue unhindered.
Russia said Friday it was "extremely concerned" about the tensions and called for "restraint" from all sides.
Amid long-standing animosity between the LF and the Shiite groups, their feud was renewed by the work of Tarek Bitar, the judge who has led the probe into the August 4, 2020 port explosion.
I much enjoyed your excellent short presentation this evening on Tucker Carlson regarding the mysterious Havana Syndrome pandemic. I've not heard of Kiwi or Fijian diplomats coming down with this strange anomaly. Feckless Aussie politicians also appear to possess immunity. Is sticky date pudding or the Māori Haka effective antidotes? I have an old French UN colleague who reports no incidents in France. What have I missed ?
All I can add is the attached link the tired old admonitions.... "What you reward, you get more of" and of course don't forget to.... "follow the money."

[KavkazUzel] About six hundred inmates riot at a maximum security penal colony in North Ossetia over a conflict with prison officials, sources said.
The incident took place in correctional colony No. 1 in Vladikavkaz.
Almost six hundred convicts staged a riot, they smashed surveillance cameras and internal doors in the colony, the National Guard forces are being pulled to the correctional facility, and neighboring streets are cordoned off, reported today, citing sources from the Telegram channel Baza.
According to preliminary data, the incident began with a conflict involving two prisoners with prison staff, the report says.
The unrest in the colony was suppressed, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the representative of the emergency services.
As a result of the riots, several people were injured, an Interfax source quoted. According to preliminary data, the conflict occurred due to the disagreement of individual prisoners to comply with the regime established in the colony, the report says.
There is no information about the riots in the colony on the website of the US Penitentiary Service in North Ossetia, as of 22.10 Moscow time today.
[KavkazUzel] Complaints from convicts from a colony in Vladikavkaz were sent to the hotline to combat torture in prisons under the Russian Ministry of Justice and the Public Monitoring Commission.
As the "Caucasian Knot " wrote , today sources have reported about riots in a strict regime colony in North Ossetia. According to various sources, between 200 and 600 convicts staged a riot because of a conflict with the correctional staff. The riots were suppressed, there are casualties, sources said.

[Garowe] At least 17 people were on Tuesday killed in two separate incidents within Somalia as the country anxiously waited for maritime border dispute judgment by the International Court of Justice [ICJ] at The Hague, in which Somalia emerged victoriously.
In the first incident, according to al-Shabaab ...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them... at least 12 security officers were killed in Deynile district, north of Mogadishu after a kaboom hit their vehicle, also leading to multiple injuries. The officers, reports indicate, were on regular patrols of the area at the time of the incident.
Those killed are mainly from the Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency [NISA], which is trying to expand operations within the country after al-Shabaab intensified attacks.
The bombing comes amid uncertainty over the future of African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... Mission Forces [AMISOM]. There are questions whether AMISOM should be reconfigured or form a joint mission with the UN.
There are ongoing military operations in Lower Shabelle, a major al-Shabaab stronghold but the union forces have often tried to liberate several strategic towns from the hard boys. Through their affiliate media websites, the al-Shabaab forces of Evil grabbed credit for the attack.
Meanwhile, ...back at the Council of Boskone, Helmuth ordered the entire 614th quadrant searched. The Green Lensman must be found!... a jacket wallah killed five civilians and injured 6 in a teashop in Mogadishu. The incident took place at Fagah intersection in Mogadishu shortly after the ICJ decision came out on Tuesday afternoon, reports indicate.
While it's not clear if the matter is related to the ICJ judgment, al-Shabaab forces of Evil who grabbed credit, have previously accused Kenya of "grabbing" the Indian Ocean coastline and even threatened to attack authorities in Kenya.
The forces of Evil have been waging attacks against security forces, senior government officials, and at times innocent civilians. It's the security forces both foreign and SNA who have borne the brunt of al-Shabaab attacks in Somalia and across the border.
The two attacks come at the time Somalia rejected a proposal by the African Union Peace Committee to have a hybrid mission activated in Somalia. Under the arrangement, the mission between the UN and AU would see the deployment of more troops to Somalia.
Instead, Mogadishu wants the African Union to rescind the proposal and focus on the full implementation of the Somali Transition Plan [STP]. Once implemented, the plan would see Somali National Army take over security responsibilities in the country by 2023.
[AlAhram] A ship's captain who rescued a group of 101 migrants colonists from the Mediterranean sea before handing them over to the Libyan coastguard has been given a one-year jail term, in the first such case heard by Italia's courts.
Giuseppe Sotgiu was convicted of violating international laws that forbid the forced return of people to countries where they are at risk, according to a copy of the ruling dated October 13, seen by AFP on Friday.
Rights groups hailed the judgement, with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) calling it "an important first step" and urging a radical change in Italian and European policies to stop forced returns.
But some experts were surprised at the verdict, first reported in the Avvenire newspaper on Thursday, as Italia and the EU have financed and trained Libya's coastguard specifically to help halt the flow of migrants colonists -- a deal severely criticised by activists.
Libya is not considered a port of safety under international law and earlier this week the UN Refugee Agency said it was "extremely worried" about continued suffering faced by migrants colonists there.
PROSECUTORS 'BROADLY' VALIDATED
Sotgiu picked up the migrants colonists -- including five pregnant women and five minors -- near an oil and gas rig in international waters and handed them over to the Libyan coastguard at the port of Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... , according to prosecutors.
Naples chief prosecutor Giovanni Melillo told AFP in an email that the verdict "broadly" validated what his office had presented to the court even though the sentence was shorter than the 21 months they had demanded.
The captain can appeal against the conviction and even if it is upheld he is unlikely to go to prison, as short sentences often do not lead to jail time.
Sotgiu was piloting the ship Asso 28 owned by Augusta Offshore at the time of the rescue on July 30, 2018.
The migrants colonists were picked up from an unseaworthy dinghy near a platform operated by Mellitah Oil & Gas, a consortium of Libya's National Oil Corporation and Italia's ENI.
Augusta Offshore, which works as a contractor for Mellitah, said at the time that the rescue had been coordinated by a Libyan coastguard officer and the Marine department of Sabratha, a city on the Libyan coast.
ENI said it had been coordinated by the Libyan coastguard.
Italian prosecutors said they could find no trace of a marine department in Sabratha nor evidence that maritime rescue coordination offices in Italia or Libya had been alerted.
[OneIndia] The recent killings of minorities in Jammu and Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... have revealed that a hit-list had been prepared to target these people. The list prepared had around 100-150 non-Moslems who the bandidosbully boyz decided to target.
These incidents have created panic among the residents.
There are multiple agencies now on the ground tracking down these faceless bandidosbully boyz who have unleashed a reign of terror in the Valley. The NIA too has conducted multiple raids to track down these elements who are out on the loose.
An India Today report said that the ISI had held a meeting to discuss this new wave of killings. A list had been prepared of random people who had to be targeted the report further added. The list comprised media personnel who write pro-India articles, police personnel and Kashmiri Pandits.
The NIA has over the past week conducted several raids in Jammu and Kashmir. Scores of terror sympathisers have been detained. The raids that were conducted at Chattabal, Chanapora and Solina are aimed at cracking down on the Overground Workers of terror groups. While The Resistance® Front has grabbed credit for the killings, the NIA is also looking into the roles of the operatives part of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, Hizbul Mujahideen ...Party of Holy Warriors, founded by Muhammad Ahsan Dar in September 1989. Hizbul murdered many of the pro-independence intelligentsia in Kashmir. After the organization was taken over by Syed Salahuddin Dar and several other ex-Hizb leaders were assassinated between 2001 and 2003... and al-Badr.
The NIA in an official statement said that it had conducted raids at multiple locations in connection with the J&K terrorism conspiracy case. [BenarNews] People convicted of the 2002 Bali bombings testified in the trial of Aris Sumarsono, who is better known as Zulkarnaen and is the former military leader of the outlawed murderous Moslem group Jemaah Islamiyah (JI).
Zulkarnaen, 58, who had been on the run for about 18 years when he was arrested last year, is charged with a criminal conspiracy for allegedly harboring Upik Lawanga. Police said Upik, who was also arrested last year, was a top JI bomb-maker.
Indonesian authorities blamed JI for a series of deadly attacks in Indonesia in the early 2000s, including the October 2002 bombings at nightclubs in Bali, which killed 202 people in Indonesia’s most fatal terror attack.
The outlawed JI is the Southeast Asian affiliate of al-Qaeda, but it has not staged a major attack here since 2011.
Zulkarnaen is not charged with involvement in the Bali bombings, even though witnesses said he was the group’s military leader at that time.
In a virtual hearing, the witnesses told the court that Zulkarnaen formed and recruited members for a JI special team to prepare attacks. But they said they never met or took orders from Zulkarnaen before the Bali attack.
"Regarding the Bali bombing, [Zulkarnaen] has nothing to do with it, but long before the Bali bombing, he had been our leader," said Sarjio, who is serving a life sentence for helping assemble the bombs used in the attack.
Another witness, Suranto, said Zulkarnaen had never provided any directions regarding the Bali bombings. Suranto said he joined the special team set up by Zulkarnaen.
"I have known him since we joined military training in Pakistain. Other members have known the defendant since he was in Pakistain and Afghanistan," Suranto testified.
Muhammad Adhe Bhakti, a researcher at the Center for Radicalism and De-radicalization Studies (PAKAR), said terror groups created cells whose members often do not know each other.
"It is possible that the witnesses of the Bali bombing did not know who played what role in the attack, including what role Zulkarnaen played," Adhe told BenarNews.
According to the indictment, Zulkarnaen helped write JI’s guidebook. During his escape, other JI members helped Zulkarnaen and provided him with cash because he was considered a valuable asset and had military expertise, it said.
On Tuesday, a top counter-terrorism official said that police remained vigilant against threats posed by JI.
Police have arrested 876 members of the group since the 2002 Bali bombings, according to M.D. Shodiq, a director at Densus 88.
But the number of JI members and sympathizers is estimated to be 10 times as many, with 67 JI-affiliated religious schools suspected to be breeding grounds for murderous Moslems, he warned.
In 2020, JI’s overall leader, Para Wijayanto, was sentenced to seven years in prison. The group’s radical spiritual leader, Abu Bakar Bashir ... Leader of the Indonesian Mujahedeen Council and proprietor of the al-Mukmin madrassah in Ngruki. The spriritual head of Jemaah Islamiya, which he denies exists. Bashir was jugged and then released in the wake of the 2002 Bali bombings, which he blamed on a conspiracy among the U.S., Israel, and Australia. In 2014, as leader of Jemaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD), he pledged allegiance to ISIS.... , 83, was released from prison in January after serving nearly a decade of a 15-year-sentence on terror-related charges.
[M.NAHARNET] Former Prime Ministers Fouad Saniora, Saad Hariri ...Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah has him bumped off, too.... and Tammam Salam condemned Friday, in a joint statement, the Tayyouneh festivities and demanded Parliament to "lift immunities" in the port blast case.
They slammed those who "instead of directing all efforts to reforms, are still trying to distract the Lebanese from their tragedies, push them back into their sectarian squares, stir up civil strife, and bring back memories and nightmares of civil war."
Saniora, Hariri and Salam reiterated "their firm opinion" about "freedom of expression and peaceful protesting" and condemned the use of violence.
They asked for an international or Arab probe in the Beirut port blast, to reach the complete truth instead of getting distracted with "professional negligence issues," and urged the parliament to quickly issue a constitutional law to lift "immunities of all kinds without any exception."
The three former PMs went on to say that all "presidential, ministerial, parliamentary, judicial and military immunities should be suspended, in order to achieve a full, non-selective and impartial justice."
They also stressed on the independence of the judiciary and on full commitment to the constitution, urging President Michel Aoun ...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah... and the judiciary to respect the constitution and to adhere to it.
The former presidents called on the army and the security forces to take the utmost measures "to prevent all forms of violence, arrest the button men who committed the (Tayyouneh) crimes, protect civilians and maintain civil peace."
They also called on the competent judicial authorities to carry out their duty and impose the necessary penalties on the perpetrators.
[AnNahar] Thousands of protesters in Bangladesh's capital Friday clashed with police, as security forces used tear gas and batons against demonstrators angry over what they perceived as an image insulting Islam that had gone viral over social media.
Police said that the street protests began after the main Friday prayers at the Baitul Mukarram mosque in the center of Dhaka.
Demonstrators gathered to protest images that earlier emerged on social media of a copy of the Quran — Islam's holy book — at the feet of a statue in a Hindu temple in eastern Bangladesh.
The clashes in the capital city follow reported incidents of vandalism at Hindu temples across other parts of the Muslim-majority country. The rise in communal tensions came as the minority Hindus celebrated the last day of their largest religious festival —the Durga Puja.
Sajjad Hossain, a deputy commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said several people were injured after the police charged with batons and tear gas to disperse the crowd which was attempting to break through a police barricade.
"They started pelting stones at us, they attacked us," Hossain said.
It was not clear immediately how many were injured in the melee, authorities said.
At least three of the protesters were detained for questioning, the deputy commissioner added.
Protesters chanted anti-India slogans and criticized Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, whom critics accuse of being close with New Delhi.
Bangladeshi authorities have ordered an investigation into the image of Islam's holy book placed in the temple, while Hasina has warned against any attempts to disturb communal harmony in the country. But Hindu organizations said the attacks continued in other parts of the country where dozens of Hindus were injured and their temple statues vandalized or toppled.
Since Wednesday, at least 100 people had been arrested across the country involving alleged attacks on Hindu temples, authorities said.
Around 9% of Bangladesh's more than 160 million people are Hindu.
[BenarNews] At least four people were killed and dozens injured in southwest Bangladesh late Wednesday when law enforcement clashed with a mob protesting the alleged desecration of a Koran at a Hindu festival site, police said Thursday.
The violent mostly peacefulfestivities in the Moslem-majority country began in Chandpur district after a video post showed a copy of Koran inside a temporary structure in neighboring Cumilla district where the nine-day annual Durga Puja festival was being celebrated, authorities said.
Mohammad Harun Rashid, officer-in-charge at the cop shoppe in Haziganj, a sub-district of Chandpur, confirmed the deaths but did not say whether the victims were killed by police shots.
"Three of the injured who suffered bullet wounds have died at a local health facility, while another died at Cumilla Medical College Hospital where he was sent for better treatment," he told BenarNews.
Cumilla Police Superintendent Faruk Ahmed confirmed that officers opened fire on the mob of several hundred people to control the situation.
"Police fired aimless shots and tear gas," he told BenarNews.
After the post about the Koran was widely circulated, enraged mobs attacked dozens of Hindu temples, including in Cumilla and Chandpur districts, police said.
Chandpur officials banned gatherings indefinitely, Momena Akhter, the chief of the Haziganj civil administration, told BenarNews.
Security was stepped around the country as well, as the violence spread. Officials deployed Border Guard Bangladesh troops in 30 of the nation’s 64 districts.
"Responding to the demand of district administrators and direction from the Home Ministry, the BGB personnel have been deployed to ensure security for Durga Puja celebrations," Lt. Col. Faizur Rahman said in a press statement released Thursday.
Meanwhile, ...back at the pie fight, Bella went down under the weight of the custard... after visiting the shelter from where the Koran was recovered, police detained a Moslem man named Fayez Uddin who allegedly posted the video of Islam’s holy book in the puja structure on Facebook, a Chittagong Range Police official told news hounds.
"Police are interrogating the person. We suspect the incident was sabotage and we are now trying to determine why," said Md. Anwar Hossain, deputy inspector general in the Chittagong Range Police.
He added that 43 people were tossed into the calaboose by police for questioning.
Anwarul Azim, chief of Cumilla’s Kotwali Model Police Station, said four cases had been filed as of Thursday night, including one under the Digital Security Act. Hazigang police’s Harun Rashid said two cases accuse six named and 2,000 unnamed people of attacking the temple and clashing with police.
Police and authorities said at least 31 people were arrested in Gazipur, Sylhet and Cox’s Bazar districts for their alleged involvement in violence in those places.
Hindu leaders said a man guarding a puja structure in Hajiganj was found dead but they could not confirm the cause of death.
Hindu leaders, meanwhile, said their community feared for its safety following the violence and attacks on Hindu temples.
"Houses of Hindus came under attack in some areas," Manindra Kumar Nath of the Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council told BenarNews.
Palash Kanti Dey, executive secretary-general of the Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mohajote, said vandals had hit at least 48 puja structures in 18 districts over the last two days. The Durga Puja festival began on Monday and ends Friday.

The opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), meanwhile, accused Hasina’s government of orchestrating the violence, saying it was a "planned attack" to divert people’s attention from its failure to maintain law and order.
[FrontPage] 11 Marines came home in boxes after the bombing at Kabul airport carried out by an Islamic terrorist freed from a prison near Bagram Air Base that had been abandoned by Biden. Other Marines were seriously wounded and hospitalized for months after the attack.
All across America there are recruiting billboards for the Marine Corps with the message, “For Marines There Are Only Battles Won”. But in the runup to the disastrous retreat from Afghanistan, the only things the Marine Corps really cared about were wokeness and race.
In April, Biden announced that he would be pulling all American forces out of Afghanistan. That same month the Taliban launched their offensive that would end with a takeover of the country.
When General David H. Berger, Commandant of the Marine Corps, testified before the House Subcommittee on Defense at the end of April, he did not refer to Afghanistan. Even while a skeleton force of hundreds of Marines remained in Kabul, Berger made no mention of them.
Instead, Berger spoke about racism.
Bizarrely enough, Berger began his presentation, not with the threats to the United States that the Marine Corps existed to fight, but by declaring that, “our nation has engaged in a long overdue conversation on race and social justice sparked by several visible incidents of institutional racism”. By that, Berger meant that Black Lives Matter mobs had torched a number of cities and their leftist allies had purged everyone who disagreed from every institution.
Berger assured House Democrats that he was happy to lead the purge of dissenting Marines.
“We have and will continue to actively work to identify recruits and Marines who hold extremist views and we look forward to participating in the Secretary of Defense's new Countering Extremism Working Group to develop additional methods of keeping extremists from within our ranks,” Berger vowed, declaring war on fellow Marines instead of on America’s enemies. Three bomb blasts struck a Shiite mosque in Kandahar during Friday prayers
At least 37 people were killed and more than 70 wounded, though toll likely to rise
Comes a week after another blast at a Shiite mosque in northern Kunduz That’d be Gozar-e-Sayed Abad Mosque in Kunduz city.
Last week's blast was claimed by ISIS-K, the terror group's Afghan branch, which has stepped up attacks in Afghanistan since the Taliban retook control
The attack took place at Fatemieh mosque in Kandahar, the largest Shiite place of worship in the city,
Witnesses to today's attack reported hearing multiple explosions in different parts of the mosque, though officials only confirmed the presence of one suicide bomber.
Murtaza, who and like many Afghans goes by one name, said he was inside the mosque during the attack and reported four explosions: two outside and two inside. He said Friday prayers at the mosque typically draw about 500 people.
A local resident who identified himself only as Ahmadullah said: 'Firing started after we ended the prayers. Then two or three explosions took place.’
The latest attack is significant because it took place in Kandahar, the ancestral homeland of the Taliban.
Many Afghans backed the Taliban retaking control of the country because they believed the Islamist group could bring security and stability.
Interior ministry spokesman Qari Sayed Khosti tweeted: 'We are saddened to learn that an explosion took place in a mosque of the Shiite brotherhood in the first district of Kandahar city in which a number of our compatriots were martyred and wounded.
'Special forces of the Islamic Emirate have arrived in the area to determine the nature of the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.'
ISIS-K has links to the Taliban through the Haqqani Network - a mercenary force run by the Haqqani family, whose members form part of the new Afghan government.
But the two groups are ideologically opposed and have been at war with each-other since 2015, when ISIS-K was established in Afghanistan.
Formed at the height of ISIS's so-called Caliphate across Iraq and Syria, ISIS-K was intended to extend the group's reach into Afghanistan.
It poached fighters from Taliban ranks who believed the group was not extreme enough, causing a rift between the group's leaders.
Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour, a senior Taliban figure, then wrote a missive to ISIS spiritual leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi suggesting that any expansion of the ISIS caliphate into Afghanistan should happen only under the Taliban banner.
This caused fighting to break out between the two groups, which continued until 2019 when a series of defeats effectively stopped ISIS-K fighting traditional battles.
Three bomb blasts in Imam Barga mosque of Kandahar province killed nearly 40 and wounded more than 90 worshipers on Friday, October 15.
The blasts are said to be carried out by three suicide bombers who shot the security guards of the mosque and then entered to detonate their explosives.
A bombing attack occurred at Imam Bargah Fatimeyah mosque in the southern province of Kandahar on Friday, local officials told TOLOnews.
The targeted mosque is in Kandahar city’s police district one (PD1).
Eyewitnesses said three back-to-back explosions hit the mosque, one of the biggest in Kandahar city, causing high casualties.
According to eyewitnesses, three men equipped with guns and explosives first opened fire on the worshipers and then detonated their explosives in three different parts of the city.
If the attack was carried out by IS, it would be the first major assault by the extremist group in southern Afghanistan since the US departure enabled the Taliban to consolidate control of the country. Recent attacks in the north, the east and the Afghan capital have cast doubt on the Taliban’s ability to counter the threat posed by IS.
The Islamic State-Khorasan (IS-K) group claimed the suicide bombing of a Shiite mosque in the Afghan city of Kandahar on Friday that killed at least 41 people and wounded scores more.
In a statement released on its Telegram channels, the jihadist group said that two suicide bombers carried out separate attacks on different parts of the mosque while worshippers prayed inside.
“The first suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest… in a mosque hallway, while the second suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest in the mosque’s center,” the statement said.

While I am sympathetic for the dead and maimed, would I be considered too callous by saying this is the reality of Islam
It is the frog and the scorpion
The fanatics have now turned on each other and the side deals the Taliban made with them have bills coming due
I’ve speytoo much time in Islamic pestholes to be at all optimistic about how this is going to turn out
And with our porous borders we should expect to see similar acts of love and tolerance in a city near you soon
Thank you Mr. Drooling Empty Suit and your puppet masters

[NEWTONDAILYNEWS] Jon Dunwell has been elected the new representative of Iowa House District 29, according to the unofficial results of the special election released Oct. 12 by the Jasper County Auditor’s Office. Upon a successful canvass, Dunwell, a Republican, will have flipped a seat long held by a Democratic representative. The Jasper County Auditor’s Office reported a total of 4,717 ballots cast, of which 2,820 voted for Dunwell (59.81 percent) while 1,890 voted for Democratic candidate Steve Mullan (40.08 percent); five write-ins were received and two ballots were turned in blank.
Jasper County has 21,409 voters, which means the Iowa House District 29 special election had a 22.03 percent voter turnout.
Dunwell was surrounded by friends and family in Newton when he learned he’d won, unofficially at least. It was "unbelievably exciting" to see the results, he told Newton News, and it is humbling to learn the voters of Iowa House District 29 have given him this opportunity to serve as a representative of the statehouse.
"Community engagement is very important to me. Being out and among people is very important to me. Giving everyone a seat at the table is very important to me," Dunwell said. "I have a conservative philosophy. My passion is for Jasper County and Iowa. The team that I work with is for the Republicans."
The party is not the ends, he added, but rather the means or the process by which Dunwell can live out his conservative principles. Jasper County Republican Party Chairperson Thad Nearmyer was cautiously optimistic leading up to Election Night, especially when Dunwell had campaigned for the seat before.
Wes Breckenridge held his seat against Dunwell in the 2020 election. But in September the Democratic politician and former police officer announced he would be stepping down as representative of Iowa House District 29 after accepting a job at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.
Even after Dunwell’s loss to Breckenridge in the 2020 election, Nearmyer said he never really stopped campaigning. Dunwell regularly posted to his candidate page on Facebook, and when the news broke the seat would be up for grabs, he wasted no time in announcing his plans to run and began soliciting donations.

They haven't yet counted the 15,000 ballots that will be found in the trunk of somebody's car...

DHS was created by G. Bush because he needed someone/thing to tell him what to do re 9/11. Its first head was Tom Ridge who promptly quit, probably because he saw how the DHS would be used. When will we get leadership that leads?

Policy, hell! Howzabout we hit Rewind and to back to the Trump Presidency. Sure, it was chaotic, but I was kinda digging it. And so was the economy.

They were forced back to it by numbers/optics/polls. They'll slow-walk while they appeal to disobey.
They've voluntarily flooded America with ILLEGAL ALIENS of unvaxxed/unknown status. Rub their face in it and vote right. Oh, and fuck the Chamber of Commerce types looking for cheap labor as well
