I am afraid I also subscribe to the concept, old and hidebound though it may be that an individual who cannot/will not reconcile themselves to physical reality is delusional. And though I feel they should be approached with compassion, the social order ought not be over turned for their delusions. That and in the name of all that's Holy nobody should be distributing weapons to people with obvious mental and emotional issues.

...That is actually true - in fact, some AT missiles have a probe at the nose to set this effect up quite nicely. That feature has kind of faded with improvements in warhead design, or the two-warhead solution JAVELIN uses, but it can still be found quite readily.
One thing I've noticed - and I will cheerfully admit to error here - is I've not seen a lot of pics of destroyed Russian tanks with reactive armor. This was supposed to be the Last Word in tank defense at the time, but turned out to only be really useful for older tanks (think M48/60, T-55/62). Improvements in armor tech pretty much bypassed it for anything except use in urban combat, and two-warhead weapons like JAVELIN pretty much make it pointless.
I had one individual some years ago expound on how RA would make the A-10s gun useless. When he was done, an A-10 pilot smiled, looked at him and said, "Yeah, it'll likely stop the first three or four rounds. It's the hundred or so right behind it that he's gotta worry about."

Rob - Ukraine and Russia are both trying to spin stories/facts to their benefit as you know. I would if I were them. (I'd hire better St. Pete Trolls as these are too apparent. Quantity =/= Quality), but all you can do is post both and see where the "facts" deviate. Fog O' War and all that.

The provocation failed: a sabotage group of SBU special forces was captured near Melitopol. They intended to carry out a series of terrorist attacks against the civilian population in the city and pass it off as the actions of the Russian military.
Wasn't that how Putin created the casus belli for Chechnya?
Anyone who has been paying attention knows this is garbage; if any of it has happened, it's the Russians getting back what they started.

My main go-to Russian language Ukrainian site has been blocked. By whom is irrelevant.
My sole remaining Ukrainian site has been updating, unbeknownst me to. The balance should improve, greatly, if korrespondent.net is brought back online.
Readers here, as always, are free to post countervailing articles.
I post what I can find in Russian mainly, but also in Ukrainian. I won't post information from western news sources because frankly they are a buncha blithering idiots when it comes to eastern Europe.
Six years of reporting on this war before the invasion has taught me that.

Signal vs Noise is always a problem. If you are into those 'book' things, something that helped me see through the noise was reading Robert Cialdini's Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion. It lays out a handful of techniques that salesmen, telemarketers, advertisers, government, and the media use to persuade people to like, buy, act, and think in a particular way. It is a short book, but I found it eye-opening. Once you see the techniques in play, you will never look at the world in the same way.

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Since the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war, news about the recruitment of Syrian fighters to go to Ukraine to take part in the fight for either side have been emerged.
On February 26, 2022, the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for people around the world to join the fight against Russia, saying, “all citizens of the world, friends of Ukraine, peace and democracy, anyone who wants to join the defense of Ukraine, Europe and the world can come and fight side by side with the Ukrainians against the Russian war criminals.”
Regarding the issue of the joining of the foreigners, especially Syrians, to the Russian-Ukrainian war, the Syrians for Truth and Justice organization (STJ) interviewed two sources from Rif Dimashq governorate and curbed doubt with certainty.
The first source was a fighter registered his name with the Syrian government’s security services to travel to Ukraine and fight alongside the Russian forces.
“I heard, by sheer coincidence, that names of those willing to fight in Ukraine are being registered. The registration was mediated by the reconciliation official in the area where I live,” the source who abstained from disclosing his name told the STJ.
“I approached the reconciliation official and asked him to help me register my name. He did. The man communicated with an assistant surgeon in the Air Force Intelligence Branch in Harasta city, Rif Dimashq,” he added.
The source pointed out that this process was done by a “Russian security company” and the priority is for the fighters who fought under Russian officers or within the ranks of the Division 25 of the Syrian government forces.
The second source, as the STJ reported, was an official in one of the local reconciliation committees in an area in Rif Dimashq who said:
“I was at the Air Force Intelligence Branch to help a number of wanted persons surrender themselves and obtain a pardon in return. There, one officer started talking in front me, saying that they will prepare lists with the names of fighters who have sufficient combat experience. These fighters will be subjected to a small-scale training by Russian officers in preparation for sending them to Russia and transporting them to fight in Ukraine with the Russian side.”
As for Turkey’s intention to send fighters to Ukraine similar to what it had previously done in Libya, fighters are already being registered to be sent to Ukraine, through initiatives led by some faction commanders or individuals, but not by the Turkish state itself, according to the STJ.
The STJ interviewed a first-class officer from one of the SNA factions where he refuted the allegations that the Turkish intelligence service had held extensive meetings with the SNA commanders regarding the deployment of fighters to Ukraine.
In an exclusive statement to North Press, the STJ CEO, Bassam al-Ahmad said, “Of course, members of the Turkish-backed factions in Syria are registering their names to partake the war in Ukraine, but the situation in Ukraine is different from that in Libya or Armenia, so that Turkey is still apprehensive.”
“Although they are called ‘National Army’, but those factions are mere mercenaries, so they are ready to go,” he added.
