She lurked like a snake in the grass,
That lovely indigenous lass.
As the villagers passed,
If they weren't very fast,
Sure, she'd flash them the tats on her ass,
Which was hairy and gray
And would piously bray
In its pew every morning at Mass.
[PJMedia] It’s recession time — a mild one, so far — as the U.S. economy grew at a zero-point-zero annual rate last quarter after shrinking slightly during the first three months of the year.
While the numbers don’t seem to have been made public yet, someone at Zero Hedge got hold of them midday on Wednesday.
Economists consider the economy to be in recession when there is zero or negative growth for two consecutive quarters or more, and that’s what we’ve gotten in the first half of 2022 after a full year of Bidenomics has had its effects. Let's Go Brandon!
The economy shrank at an annual rate of 1.5% from January through March. That was revised downward from an original estimate of 1.4% shrinkage, and worse than the expected revision to 1.3%.
Consumer spending drives more than two-thirds of the U.S. economy, and consumers are feeling the pinch of double-digit price hikes for nearly everything, higher borrowing costs, and record credit-card debt to try and pay for it all.
Considering all of that, it’s almost impressive that overstrained consumers managed to juice the economy all the way up to zero.

If we're "technically" in a recession, then by definition we're in a fokkin' recession. No matter, the Dems will continue to speak their truth and force us all to live by it.

What is scarier than this?
The 28% and 32% that still will vote Democrat in 2023 and/or to re-elect Biden in 2024.

He will impose an excess profit tax unless they spend those profits producing at an. ‘expected value’ loss. Watch them move corporate location to Switzerland (following a number of international drilling and service companies.)
#2
Nah, they will pass a bill to hit them with extra fees/taxes that can be exempted if they donate to charities and political organizations. Of course the companies will know that only left leaning ones will be accepted by the IRS so there is your new tax loophole and the money goes into more corrupt politicians and their supporters.
Washington CNN — President Joe Biden is calling on major oil refinery companies to take “immediate actions” to ramp up supply, telling them in a new letter that “historically high” profit margins are unacceptable at a time when Americans continue to see soaring prices at the gas pump.
The letter is part of Biden’s effort to shift blame for soaring gas prices, which have become a major political problem, though the reality remains that there is not much he can do about it.

This dummy can't even demonized the refiners properly. There is no spare refining capacity. There won't be anytime soon, thanks in large part to his party's environmental policies and bureaucrats.
More like corporate cronyism which is what we have had for over 150 years now. Just keeps getting worse.
I'm a capitalist and a libertarian. And the government I see right now is a weird mix between banana republic and facism. The "elite" are plundering the nation for all it's worth and the businesses are helping as hard and fast as they can as they get rich off it as well. Mean while the middle class gets squeezed and gets smaller every year.
And as Kate of Small Dead Animals wrote after the CNN horror show, “Don’t make the mistake of thinking they don’t mean it.”
● Aren’t California’s High Gas Prices What The Left Have Wanted?
● NBC, the Washington Post, and the New York Times in lockstep call for higher gas taxes.
● 2008 L.A. Times headline: “The joy of $8 gas.”
Exit quote: “Under my plan, energy costs will necessarily skyrocket…”
In other words, Obama administration retreads are following the same playbook as the original Obama administration: “We’re going to keep at it to ensure the American people are paying their fair share for gas,” is the perfect Kinsley Gaffe for an Obama administration retread like Biden: As Steven Chu, Obama’s then-incoming energy secretary, told the Wall Street Journal in the fall of 2008: “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.”
So is it fair to ask if Biden is on the payroll of Putin? As Walter Russell Mead wrote in 2017:
If Trump were the Manchurian candidate that people keep wanting to believe that he is, here are some of the things he’d be doing:
Limiting fracking as much as he possibly could
Blocking oil and gas pipelines
Opening negotiations for major nuclear arms reductions
Cutting U.S. military spending
Trying to tamp down tensions with Russia’s ally Iran.
[Insider] The Krebs had been renting for about seven years. When the coronavirus pandemic hit, they decided it was time to find a place they could call their own, especially since they were getting older and have two daughters: Carolina, 7, and Harper, 3.
They didn't have to look far to find the solution.
The couple had inherited 70 acres of land in Fayetteville, Texas, from Michael's grandparents. The property includes agricultural land — and a small, rundown shed.
"We thought the shed was the perfect thing to fix up and make into a tiny home, where we could live while saving up some money so we can have money for the forever house," Krebs, a stay-at-home mom, told Insider.
They plan to live in the tiny home until they have enough savings to renovate and move into the main house, which had been his grandparents' home.
[AFLDS] Rep. Sean Casten (D-IL) Monday announced the death of his 17-year-old daughter Gwen, who abruptly passed away on Monday morning. The cause of death is unknown, though the DuPage County Coroner is investigating.
"This morning, Congressman Casten’s beloved daughter, Gwen (17), passed away," tweeted the Congressman’s account Tuesday. "The Casten family requests privacy, and we will be issuing no further comment during this heartbreaking time."
The untimely death comes as news media report an alarming rise in deaths among young, healthy people. News outlets say the deaths are flummoxing doctors, who are calling the phenomenon Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) and are starting "SADS registries" to discover the cause of the deaths.
Physicians who predicted the phenomenon were since censored and not included in any of the media reports. Those doctors include Dr. Zev Zelenko and Dr. Peter McCullough, the most published cardiologist in the world, who stated that the risks of the vaccine outweigh its benefits.
Studies have also shown a significant correlation between cardiac arrest and the COVID-19 vaccine, though these, too, were attacked.
Congressman Casten, who is in the middle of a re-election campaign, is a major proponent of the vaccine, calling the unvaccinated "knuckleheads" in September and telling Business Insider that every member of his staff got the shots "because they don’t like to be dead."
"I’ve made a point of not hiring knuckleheads, and everybody on our staff got vaccinated..." he said.

The incidental death of any child is something difficult to deal with.
We will likely read many rumors used to promote various agendas. Ranging from Fentanyl, other drugs, the VAX to politically motivated for sympathy votes.
But until we can read between the lines of the more than likely politically polished Coroner's Report. I'll let the dead lay in peace, and the family have it's private time.
[ZH] The World Health Organization said Tuesday it will rename the monkeypox virus after concern that it could stoke racism and stigma.
The current name for the virus, which has infected over 1,600 people in 39 countries this year and was first reported in Africa, does not adhere to WHO guidelines that discourage the use of geographic regions or animals, Bloomberg reports. Next up, WHO will suggest it's time to "stop being mean" to cancer.

Monkeys (not apes) appear naturally in Africa, South America, Asia, India, and Europe (Gibralter). So only North America doesn't have natural monkeys and they say its somehow a geographic region problem? I think there are more than a few racists at the WHO.

[MSN] Caterpillar Inc. said Tuesday it will move its global headquarters from Illinois to an existing divisional office in Irving, Texas, in the Dallas-Forth Worth area, in another blow to the Chicago area, which last month lost the Boeing Co. headquarters.
The move is "in the best strategic interest of the company," Chief Executive Jim Umpleby said in a statement. The heavy-machinery maker has had a presence in Texas since the 1960s, it said.
Even with the move, Illinois has the largest concentration of Caterpillar employees anywhere in the world, the company said. The headquarters was historically in downstate Peoria, Ill., before a move to the Chicago suburb of Deerfield, in 2017.
Caterpillar said it will begin the relocation this year, without proving further details.
Boeing in May said it was moving its global headquarters to Arlington, Va., outside Washington, D.C., promising to keep a "significant presence" in Chicago, where it moved in 2001 from Seattle.
Texas also welcomed Tesla Inc. headquarters last year, with Chief Executive Elon Musk blaming the San Francisco Bay Area’s lack of affordable housing for the move. Tesla was headquartered in Palo Alto, in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Musk had said in 2020 he had moved to Texas, saying that Silicon Valley has had "too much influence in the world."
Shares of Caterpillar fell 0.4% in midday trading Tuesday. The stock has lost about 0.3% so far this year, contrasting with losses of more than 21% for the S&P 500.

Given the politic craziness, taxes and the union leadership in the LSD's pockets screw over members in ILL-inois.
I can understand why a right-to-work state (Texas, GA and etc...) are appealing to Manufacturers.
Where a person cannot be denied employment because of membership or non-membership in a labor union or other labor organization.
Don't give me wrong, Unions "once" served a badly needed purpose. But like too many things, it has become politically corrupted and abused for votes.
Many States now have laws that offer the same work environment safety union originally shalt. Supply and demand for skilled workers now sets the pay scale.

Mustang Plaza a.k.a. Williams Square is a very cool place Caterpillar is moving to. New restaurants, The Cork and Pig, The Thirsty Lion, Toyota Music Factory (concerts) Pacific Table (sea food), La Cocina, and the 5 star resort hotel Omni Mandalay with a massive lakeside pool area are just a few fun things within a block of the Caterpillar headquarters. It all sits on a man made lake called Lake Carolyn named after the wife of the ranch owner John Carpenter who owned the area as a huge Ranch years ago. Lake Carolyn has canals and Italian Gondolas rowed by Italian dressed operators through canals and on the lake. Along the canals Quenticerra (the 15th birthday) of hispanic girls is celebrated with them in beautiful Quenticerra dresses on the weekends along the Lake Carolyn canals because of the Spain/Mediterranean architecture is like Spain.
This area of Irving is called Las Colinas (The Colony) and is the home of over 2,000 company headquarters from Xerox to Exxon Mobil, to Citibanc. DFW International Airport is 5 minutes away. There is nothing like Las Colinas in the world.

[IsraelTimes] Military serviceman, who was in a relationship with insurrectionist, was incarcerated for 19 months for planned mass shooting, legal document shows
A filing in a case stemming from the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the US Capitol revealed that a US Marine in a relationship with one of the defendants served 19 months in jug for a plot to shoot up a synagogue.
The revelation came in a filing by federal prosecutors arguing against a request by an alleged Death Eater, Riley Williams, to loosen restrictions pending her trial.
Williams, who lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, lied about a meeting she had with the former Marine, the prosecutor’s filing said. Williams, who is under house arrest and wears an ankle monitor, is seeking less stringent restrictions, the Patriot-News reported over the weekend.
The June 10 filing by the US Attorney does not name the Marine, who was given a bad-conduct discharge, or when or where he plotted to attack a synagogue. It says only that he "stole his roommates’ truck and attempted to purchase a firearm with the intent of committing a mass shooting at a synagogue."
The man "was sentenced to 19 months in jug and was given a bad-conduct discharge from the US Marines Corps."
Williams, who is among the more prominent defendants because she allegedly stole US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments... ’s laptop, broke conditions of her release by having video meetings with the former Marine, "who is believed to be Williams’ then-boyfriend" and by meeting with him in person in August 2021, the filing said.
At that in-person meeting, the former Marine revealed to Williams "the circumstances of his prior arrest, prosecution, incarceration and discharge from the United States Marine Corps."
Bellingcat, an investigative journalism website, was the first to identify Williams shortly after the insurrection. To do so, the group used a video that showed a woman with a hat emblazoned with occult Nazi symbology dancing until a narrator says "Heil Hitler," at which point she gives the Nazi salute.
A congressional committee investigating the insurrection last week launched public hearings and focused particularly on the role of far-right groups in its organization.
[IsraelTimes] German intelligence services estimate more than 1,150 people traveled from Germany to Iraq and Syria since 2011 for Islamist reasons
Four suspected members or sympathizers of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group have been detained in Germany and Switzerland ...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell... in a cross-border operation, prosecutors from the two countries said Tuesday.
In Switzerland, three people were picked up in the cantons of Zurich, Sankt Gallen and Lucerne, national authorities said, adding that seven further searches were also carried out.
The suspects, whose identities were not released, are accused of "participation in or support for the outlawed organization Islamic State."
In Germany, a man was detained in the western town of Roemerberg, federal prosecutors said. Identified only as Aleem N., he is "strongly suspected of preparing a serious violent mostly peaceful attack threatening the security of the state and of belonging to a foreign terrorist organization." He is believed to have attempted to travel from Germany via The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... to Syria in September 2020.
"In Syria, the suspect wanted to join the foreign terrorist organization Islamic State, attain military training and then take part in combat or terrorist attacks," the federal prosecutor’s office said in a statement. However, there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... Aleem N. was unable to reach Syria for reasons that were not immediately clear and returned to Germany.
"At the latest in April 2021 he joined IS in Germany and carried out vast propaganda activities for the group," prosecutors said. His duties included "mainly translating official texts, videos and audio messages by IS from Arabic into German and distributing them on various Telegram channels in German-speaking areas."
"IS considered such activities to be equivalent to taking part directly in violent mostly peaceful jihad," it added. The suspect is also believed to have taken part in a telephone conversation with IS leaders in late 2021 to "verify his reliability" before travelling to "IS zones of operation." However, there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened... "a further attempt" to reach Syria in January 2022 "failed again."
Aleem N. was to appear on Tuesday before a federal judge who will decide whether to remand him in jug.
German intelligence services estimate that more than 1,150 people have traveled from Germany to Iraq and Syria since 2011 for Islamist reasons. More than a third have since returned to Germany, while at least 270 have been killed in Iraq or Syria.
"A low three-digit-number" are currently detained in the two countries, according to the intelligence services’ 2021 report.
[Breitbart] The number of Syrians gaining German citizenship tripled in 2021 as many of those who arrived during the migrant crisis became eligible to obtain German nationality. The Federal Statistical Office of Germany announced that the naturalisation of Syrians had tripled last year, with 19,100 Syrian citizens becoming German citizens in 2021, compared to 6,700 in 2020.
The rise is largely due to the number of Syrians who arrived in Germany during the migrant crisis from 2014 to 2016 as the number of Syrians who have lived in Germany for at least six years rose from 45,300 in 2020 to 105,300 in 2021.
This year the number of Syrians who have been in the country for at least six years and could qualify for citizenship has drastically increased to 448,800, which could, in turn, lead to a further surge in Syrians gaining German citizenship this year. While Germany normally requires residency of at least eight years to qualify for citizenship, according to a report from the broadcaster Deutsche Welle, the Syrians granted nationality in 2021 were able to qualify after just six years due to their own successes in integrating into German society.

[Breitbart] The former head of a French NGO that worked with illegal immigrants colonists has been sentenced to two years in prison after being found guilty of trafficking in human beings by a Gay Paree court.
Ronald D., the former head of the NGO Vies de Gay Paree, was sentenced by the Gay Paree Criminal Court to two years in prison with one year suspended after being found guilty of exploiting illegal immigrants colonists he had promised to help. The 54-year-old, a French citizen originally from Haiti, was accused of offering illegal immigrants colonists a place to live in exchange for work, often paying the migrants colonists very little and forcing the victims, 51 in total, to work long hours, the newspaper Liberation reports.
Two others connected to Vies de Paris were also part of the case with one of them found to be an accomplice to Ronald D. and was sentenced to a suspended sentence of eight months, while the other accused was released. The NGO itself was also dissolved.

Interesting. Perhaps our Justice system could learn something from the French.
I wonder what percentage of men just don't give a fuck. By Erin Keller
[NYPost] If you like a man’s gray hair, you should tell him. A new study shows that it will probably make him feel better.
A survey of 2,000 men across all generations — conducted by OnePoll and L’Oreal Paris — looked into how they deal with natural changes to their appearance that come with aging.
Half of the participants currently had gray hair and 44 percent of them were self-conscious about it.
That could be why 38 percent of men choose to dye their grays. An overwhelming 70 percent of participants worry that gray hair makes them look older, while 42 percent worry others will find them less attractive with silver locks.
The graying process can start early — in one’s 20s, if not even sooner — but the survey found that Gen Xers and baby boomers aren’t comfortable with the aging color gray until they are nearly 50.
One of the top concerns for millennials (34 percent) and Gen X men (39 percent) is going gray, which can contribute to why 45 percent of men admitted they sometimes feel pressure to look younger than they are. Read the rest at the link

My father was totally grey at 19. Given that he was stretching toward the 5’4” height listed on his passport, and his boyishly round face, it must have given him the gravitas he needed as he dealt with the adult world — it was during the Great Depression, and he suddenly had to support himself at age 15 1/2.
I would have loved to have been grey that early — a young face with old hair is a stunning look — but sadly I take after my mother.
Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin
[ColonelCassad] 1. Severodonetsk.
The enemy in the industrial zone of the Azot plant is partially isolated from the main forces in Lisichansk. The estimated size of the group reaches 2,500 people + an unspecified number of vehicles. Normal supply of the group is impossible. Because of this, just like at Azovstal, there was talk of "humanitarian corridors."
Fights for settlements on the eastern outskirts of Severodonetsk. The enemy recognizes very heavy losses in the battles for Severodonetsk.
2. Slavyansk.
Battles at Bogorodichny. The Armed Forces of Ukraine recognize the loss of half of the village, our sources say that Bogorodichny has been liberated. In fact, it is still in the contested area.
Our troops broke into the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the Valley and started fighting already on the territory of the village.'
Fighting in the Tatyanovka area and in the direction of Sidorovo.
Seversky Donetsk in the direction of Raygorodok or Seversk is not yet forced.
3. Kharkov.
Fighting in the area of Upper Saltov, Ternovoye and Rubezhnoye.
Fighting south of Cossack Lopan in the Velikiye Prohody and Tsupovka area. The Zolochevsky fortified area and the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Saltovka and Chuguev are subjected to active strikes by the RF Armed Forces.
Attempts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strain the flank of the Izyum grouping of the RF Armed Forces did not have significant success.
4. Avdievka.
Fights at Krasnogorovka and New York, but without serious progress. The enemy continued shelling the Donetsk-Gorlovka agglomeration.
5. Artemovsk.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation repulsed all attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to return the village of Roty under control and, in turn, advanced in the direction of the village of Vershina and Semigorye.
The position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is defending the Uglegorsk TPP and Novoluganskoye, has become significantly more complicated, since the supply roads are under the fire control of the RF Armed Forces. To the north, fighting continued at Mednaya Ore and Pokrovsky.
UPD: In the evening it was reported that PMC "Wagner" took Semigorye, cutting off the supply lines of the group defending the Novolugansk and Uglegorsk thermal power plants.
6. Soledar.
The RF Armed Forces entrenched themselves on the outskirts of Belogorovka and Berestovoye. The Artemovsk-Lysichansk highway is actually cut off, it is practically impossible to use it to supply the Severodonetsk grouping. The significance of the Artemovsk-Seversk-Lysichansk road has increased many times over, and holding Seversk is now vital for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to be able to retreat from the Lisichansk-Severodonetsk agglomeration.
7. Zolotnoye.
The cleansing of Kamyshevakhi has been completed, fighting is underway on the outskirts of Zolote.
Battles near Toshkovka and Ustinovka.
In the evening, messages came about the capture of the village of Vrubovka. If the information is confirmed, then this brings the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation very close to solving the problem of encircling the Gorsko-Zolotoy group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, meanwhile, are building up forces in the Nikolaevsky direction. Gauleiter Kim threatens to blow up the bridges in Nikolaev if the city is threatened with loss.

[ToloNews] The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN said the World Bank contributed $150 million to provide critical livelihood and life-saving assistance to the most vulnerable rural populations in Afghanistan.
The FAO said that it will focus on wheat production, supporting about 2.1 million people.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock welcomed the World Bank’s financial support and said it will help Afghan farmers.
"In normal years, we import 1 to 1.5 million tons of wheat. In the years of drought, we import 2 to 2.5 million tons," said Musbahuddin Mustayeen, a front man for the ministry.

ASHRAF GHANI AHMADZAI — FORMER PRESIDENT OF AFGHANISTAN
After escaping to the UAE, President Ghani initially stayed in a suite with his wife at the five-star St. Regis Hotel in Abu Dhabi. His wife then chose a private villa offered by the Emiratis as their permanent residence.
Foreign officials had alleged Ghani of looting government money, so substantial that not all of it could fit in the chopper when he escaped the presidential palace last year.
Given the helicopter’s space and weight limits, the US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction stated in an interim report last week that the allegation is "unlikely to be true."
HAMDULLAH MOHIB — FORMER NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR
Before Kabul fell, former President Ghani’s ally, Hamdullah Mohib, the former National Security Advisor, who left with President Ghani, relocated his family to the Shangri-La Hotel in Abu Dhabi, which was paid for by the UAE government.
According to public documents and Mohib himself, the family then relocated to a four-bedroom property in Florida on a beautiful bay bordered with palm trees.
Despite claiming that he does not own property "anywhere in the world", Mohib claims his mother-in-law owns the house in Florida.
EKLIL HAKIMI — FORMER MINISTER OF FINANCE
According to property and company records in the United States, Eklil Hakimi, the president’s longstanding Minister of Finance, purchased at least ten properties in California, both during his term in office and after departing in 2018.
One of the Hakimi’s property includes a five-bedroom home with a pool in a beach side luxury community, according to California property records. According to a real estate, the aforementioned property is valued $2.5 million.
The ten properties, which are under his wife’s name, Sultana Hakimi, are valued over $10 million at least.
KHALID PAYENDA — FORMER FINANCE MINISTER
Khalid Payenda, Afghanistan’s former finance minister, has two properties around Washington, D.C., one of which was purchased with cash. According to a real estate, they are valued more than $1 million.
In an email to the Journal, he explained that after coming to the United States, he worked as an Uber driver to help manage his finances.
MUSTAFA MASTOOR — FORMER MINISTER OF ECONOMY
According to Dubai records, President Ghani’s Minister of Economy, Mustafa Mastoor, possesses a property in a Dubai Marina. Mustafa Mastoor said that he bought the property before becoming minister, and that he now lives in an apartment in Istanbul that he bought months before Afghanistan collapsed to the Taliban.
ATTA MOHAMMAD NOOR — FORMER GOVERNOR OF BALKH PROVINCE
Atta Mohammad Noor, after the collapse of the government, has relocated to an apartment he has in Dubai’s luxurious place called The Palm, a network of man-made islands styled like a palm tree.
According to a spokesperson for Atta Noor, the property in The Palm is the Noor’s sole property outside of Afghanistan.
ABDUL RASHID DOSTUM — FORMER VICE PRESIDENT
Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum ...ethnic Uzbek warlord who distinguished himself fighting the Soviets and the Taliban. The story that he had a bad guy run over with a tank is an exaggeration. It was an armored personnel carrier... currently resides in Turkey. He recently hosted a gathering at his residence in Turkey where the Afghan political figures established the Supreme Council of National Resistance® for the Salvation of Afghanistan.
He lives in a luxurious house Ankara’s posh Or-An neighborhood. However, some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go... it is not determined as to when he bought the house.

[KhaamaPress] Three Afghan refugees have been arrested in the US state of Virginia for the murder of another Afghan, according to foreign media articles.
According to the site (NBC12), three Afghan refugees were apprehended for murder on Saturday evening, June 11, at a shopping mall by Virginia State Police.
Khalid Naseri, an Afghan refugee, was stabbed to death by three other Afghan refugees, according to the report. "It's a Cultural Thing™, you wouldn't understand"
Khalid Naseri, being at his 25s, was taken to hospital after being stabbed to death, where he died.
The killers’ identities have been disclosed by Virginia police, who say they have detained three people for murder: Noorzad Nassery, Homauoun Naseri, and Jahadullah Naseri.
According to the report, these Afghan nationals are in police custody and no decision has been made about them so far.
Try ‘em fair and send ‘em back to the Oulde Sod. They clearly have not made the adjustment to a different way of life.

This was an episode of NCIS like 10 years ago.
A legit refugee/Terp in Virginia was killed by brothers who were smuggled in on fake passports. Turns out they were an ISIS bomb making cell.

[KhaamaPress] In an operation by the Taliban ...the Pashtun equivalent of men... security forces in Kabul province’s Bagrami district, a key ISIS commander was killed and another was arrested, according to Taliban officials.
Late Sunday night, 12th June, the Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid tweeted that those killed and captured in the operation were involved in attacks on mosques, monasteries, and power pylons.
The killed and captured men were identified as "Kharijites" by Zabihullah Mujahid, who stated they were significant members of ISIS.
Your extreme jihadis are particularly fond of insults dating back more than a millennium. This one goes back to the Third Caliph.
Yusuf, one of ISIS’s senior commanders, was among those killed in the operation, according to the Taliban spokesperson on Twitter.
Another ISIS commander, Mohammad Agha, has reportedly been arrested, according to the official.
The Taliban’s operation against ISIS comes despite the Taliban’s repeated claims that ISIS has been vanquished in Afghanistan and no longer has a physical presence there.
In Afghanistan, the ISIS terrorist group has increased its attacks, mainly against Taliban and Shiite members.
Over 50 large and small explosions and armed attacks have occurred across Afghanistan since the Taliban seized power. The ISIS terrorist group has grabbed credit for most of the attacks.
[Dawn] The National Bank of Pakistain (NBP) has won a high-profile terror-financing case in New York’s Federal Court, avoiding a potential bankruptcy.
Media reports and diplomatic sources said the plaintiff, Harold Brown Sr, withdrew the case, dropping all charges against the bank.
NBP officials in New York and Washington, however, were mysteriously silent on this major win.
There was no one in the NBP’s main office in New York, except a receptionist, and the branch office in Washington had no information.
The bank would have faced the grim prospect of going into bankruptcy had the decision gone against it.
The case against NBP was being handled by the International Disputes Unit of the Attorney General’s Office. Earlier this year, the US Federal Reserve Board had announced a $20.4 million penalty against the NBP.
The New York Department of Financial Services also fined the bank $35 million for repeated compliance failures, taking the combined penalties to $55 million.
In his filing, the plaintiff alleged that NBP provided financial support and banking services to several notorious terrorist groups and terrorist fundraisers, among them, Al Qaeda.
The judge dismissed the complaint with leave to "replead" and directed the parties to appear for the initial case management conference on April 2, 2021.
It was apparently after this conference that the plaintiff agreed to withdraw the charges.
Sources told Geo News that a few years back, the NBP was accused of facilitating the transfer of funds that were used to plan and execute an attack on a United States military base in Afghanistan, which killed nine American soldiers.
Had the NBP lost the case, according to sources, it would have been slapped with fines worth billions of dollars, leaving it bankrupt. The AG Office sources also said in that case, Pakistan would have faced serious issues at the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
The case was handled by the International Disputes Unit of the AG's Office. The team was led by Ahmed Irfan. It was the same team that helped produce positive outcomes in the Karkey, Reko Diq, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and Tuwairqi cases.
From February — NBP is a habitual terrorism supporter, it appears:
[WSJ] State-owned financial institution agrees to spell out how it would improve compliance at its New York City branch in settlements with Fed, New York state
The National Bank of Pakistain has agreed to pay $55.4 million and to provide plans for improving compliance at its New York City branch after U.S. regulators found major deficiencies.
The bank agreed to monetary penalties and remediation plans in settlements with the U.S. Federal Reserve and the New York State Department of Financial Services. The settlements were announced Thursday.
Both regulators previously took action against the bank over persistent compliance deficiencies at the New York branch. The Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... -based, state-owned financial institution, founded in 1949, is the only Pak bank with a presence in New York.
In a settlement from 2016, the bank agreed to address significant shortcomings the regulators identified, but ultimately failed to do so, the regulators said.
Senior management at the bank was "unwilling or unable to promote a culture of compliance," the New York regulator said.
The bank failed to provide sufficient resources for compliance and to adequately supervise its New York branch, allowing problems to get steadily worse, the New York regulator said. The state enforcer also noted deficiencies in the bank’s program meant to ensure compliance with U.S. sanctions.
The bank will be required to create a plan to improve its anti-money-laundering program as well as its suspicious-activity monitoring and customer due-diligence requirements.
The New York regulator said it gave substantial weight to the bank’s cooperation and efforts to improve its compliance.
The National Bank of Pakistain didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Financial Action Task Force, a Gay Paree-based organization that sets anti-money-laundering standards, has for several years kept Pakistain on a "grey list" of countries identified as having deficiencies in their anti-money-laundering and counter-terror-financing regimes. The list comprises countries that are deemed deficient but that are working with FATF to improve.
[SHAFAQ] The residents of djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... who witnessed their city being overrun by ISIS are not strangers to conspiracy theories that continue to crop up even eight years later.
According to eyewitnesses, the military and security forces in the city collapsed on June 10, 2014, leaving the city to ISIS for three years, during which they suffered unspeakable violence and destruction.

Commentary by Russian military blogger Boris Rozhin
This sounds like the information came from one of the frontline Russian militiamen, instead of the Russian ministry of defense, which claims the information. So far, the Ukrainian side has yet to comment on the incident.
[ColonelCassad] Shooting near Novomikhailovka
More than 30 servicemen of the 25th battalion of the 54th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine decided to lay down their arms and surrender after conducting fire preparations for the offensive of the Russian troops;
The Ukrainian servicemen, who occupied a stronghold in the area of the Animal Farm, appealed by radio to the command of the Russian unit to cease fire and provide an exit corridor;
At about 10 p.m., servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with white flags began to advance towards the Russian positions.
At that moment, a detachment of Ukrainian nationalists, who arrived at the strong point on armored vehicles, opened crossfire at the servicemen of the 54th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the back.
As a result of this execution, 32 Ukrainian servicemen were fatally wounded and killed.
Against the backdrop of growing military failures and the demoralization of the Ukrainian troops, the Kyiv nationalist regime is trying to stop the retreat and surrender of its units by punitive actions of detachments. The lives of Ukrainian servicemen and mobilized fighters of territorial defense units mean nothing to the current leadership of Ukraine. (c) RF Ministry of Defense
The case when a quasi-role-playing game of Nazism led to role-playing games in detachments as in the worst domestic and foreign films on this topic.
PS. Plus a video https://t.me/boris_rozhin/53617 with a soldier who surrendered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who tells how those who surrendered were shot in the back by the mobilized.
[ColonelCassad] Urgent statement of the Head of the Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters of the Russian Federation for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine - Head of the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev:
The Ukrainian side requested the organization of a humanitarian corridor for the evacuation of civilians (women, children and the elderly) who are at the Azot chemical plant in Severodonetsk, to the territory controlled by Kiev in the city of Lisichansk.
Taking into account the fact that on June 13, 2022, by order of the Kyiv authorities, in order to prevent the retreat of territorial defense units, the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine blew up the last bridge across the Seversky Donets River in the direction of Lysychansk, it is not possible to carry out a safe evacuation in this direction.
The militants of the nationalist battalions, retreating from the residential areas of Severodonetsk, deliberately brought hundreds of civilians out of the city to the industrial zone of the Azot chemical plant in order to hide behind them as a "human shield".
Realizing the hopelessness of the situation of our armed formations, we regard the appeal of the Ukrainian side for the alleged rescue of civilians as an attempt to withdraw the surviving units from the encirclement. Thus, there are all signs of a repetition of the "Mariupol scenario".
Guided by humane principles, the Armed Forces of Russia and the formations of the Luhansk People's Republic are ready to carry out a humanitarian operation to evacuate civilians.
To do this, from 08:00 (Moscow time) to 20:00 (Moscow time) on June 15, 2022, a humanitarian corridor will open in a northern direction (to the city of Svatovo, Luhansk People's Republic).
At the same time, the safe evacuation of all, without exception, civilians and their movement as part of humanitarian convoys to temporary accommodation centers is guaranteed.
We offer militants of nationalist battalions and foreign mercenaries who are at the Azot plant from 08:00 (Moscow time) June 15, 2022 to stop any hostilities and release the civilians they are holding through this humanitarian corridor, as well as to stop senseless resistance and lay down their arms.
The Russian Federation guarantees the preservation of life and compliance with all the norms of the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war, as happened with those who had previously surrendered in Mariupol.
The actual readiness of the Ukrainian side to start a humanitarian operation is indicated by the raising of white flags.
Once again, we call on the official authorities of Kyiv to show prudence, to give appropriate instructions to the militants to stop the senseless resistance and leave the territory of the Azot plant.
Through operational communication channels, this statement is immediately communicated to the Ukrainian side through I.A. Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Ukraine.
(c) RF Ministry of Defense
Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
Somewhere I have seen this recently.
Ah yes, in Mariupol. Then it was called extraction. The fact that requests for humanitarian corridors and the like were sent transparently hints that the northern fur-bearing animal (heh)
will soon come to the remnants of the AFU grouping in Severodonetsk.
PS. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR, the industrial zone of the Azot plant is defended by a group of 2,500 people, of which up to a quarter are foreign mercenaries.
Full-fledged supply of the defenders was disrupted due to the destruction of bridges and the possibility of artillery of the RF Armed Forces to fire at the approaches to Severodonetsk from Lysichansk.

Hmmm. I thought it was Russians who blew that bridge so Ukrainians could no longer supply their people in Severodonetsk.

This has been widely reported in Europe. It was entirely predictable due to the outbreak of dozens of mutinies and other instances of refusal to fight on the part of the poor Ukrainian troops who've been sent into the slaughterhouse by their mad politicians.
This kind of internecine killing is what we saw in World War One after the commanders were shown to be murderous cretins intent on prolonging the slaughter to no discernible end.

[NYPOST] Russian forces could be just weeks away from seizing control of the key Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine — as Ukrainian officials continued to appeal for more heavy weapons and ammunition from the West.
An unnamed senior US defense official told the Washington Post that the cities of Severodonetsk and Lysychansk, which have seen some of the fiercest battles in recent weeks, could fall to Russia in the coming days.
Russia has been making steady gains in the strategically important Donbas region — comprised of Luhanks and Donetsk — by pounding the area with heavy artillery day after day and inflicting heavy casualties on the outnumbered and outgunned Ukrainian soldiers.
It is widely believed that the fate of Donbas could dictate the course of the entire war, now in its fourth month.
The area is home to the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic, which are controlled by Moscow-backed rebels who have been at war with Ukrainian forces since Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014.

To the accompaniment of the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Crimean State Philharmonic, the cadets danced everything that was popular during social events: waltz, polonaise, quadrille, polka and pas de grasse.

That's kind of a leap, Rob. I make and made no defense of the Hugo Boss boys, long defeated and well massacred. But we have trouble, and yes, I do mean right here in river city.
We live in a country that castrates it's little boys and neuters it's young women. Ask yourself, can you imagine the emergent drag queen menace showing up at the Alexander III Cadet ball?
How about celebrating their history and a victorious struggle. You know, maybe like the 150th anniversary of our Civil War and the anniversaries of so many incredible sacrifices on both sides. The 100th of the United States kicking the absolute crap out of the Hugo Boss' boys fathers. Yeah, I guess I missed that. Damned Wild Turkey must have gotten the upper hand again.
Morality? Suffice it to say I got involved in the independent oil business while I was still in college. Before the Army, Mrs C and the multitude of jr.'s. Not that I imagine it commends me in any way, but to be sure I absolutely understand the wrapper doesn't always foretell the goods.
We have a serious problem here. Look anywhere. Art? architecture? Public discourse? We are bombarded daily, Hell hourly with commands to hate Ivan. Chiefly from people who spent decades tongue bathing the Soviet Union.
Yet they are a country that is building nearly a church per day. A country that built a cathedral to celebrate it's fighting men. So what? we just had Memorial Day. That's right,' Day'. Now we have "Pride MONTH' and I don't care if you're a lighthouse keeper or a fire watcher you will not escape it.
Fine. The Russians are the stuff of the darkest nightmares. If that's so, it only makes events like this and even the Romanov wedding in St Petersburg awfully hard to square with the current American version of civilization.

What did I see in the very first picture? Little boys ooohhhing and aaaahhhing over a Chevrolet Camaro. So, at least, we can still do a few things that Russians cannot.
But anyone who is paying attention must certainly notice that ours is a society in decline. Church attendance in the United States is falling at an alarming rate. Fentanyl overdoses are killing hundred of thousands per year. Homeless encampments foul our cities. Gang violence terrorizes our inner cities. Our southern border is undefended. Formerly great cities like Detroit, Seattle and San Francisco are dead or dying. The mainstream media is in bed with the Chinese Communist Party and ignores these problems while trying to make us believe that a senile old crook has it all under control.
I don't know if Russia is any better. I've never been there. But it's hard to imagine that it's any worse.

Russia is not the West's enemy. Ukraine is not an ally. Ask yourself, in which cities would a man like De Gaulle or Eisenhower or Churchill, or his traditional conservative descendants, feel more at home today: in Moscow or Budapest? Or in rainbow-worshipping, "diversity"-soaked New York, Paris and London?
How does it go? Something about never interfering when your enemy is making a fatal error...
[ET] Chinese leader Xi Jinping has reaffirmed the ruling communist party’s strict "zero-COVID" pandemic control policy in a recent speech. Meanwhile, the regime has put out a new regulation trying to save China’s economy under the policy.
According to a report by China’s state media Xinhua, Xi said that officials must "do a good job in coordinating epidemic control and economic and social development efficiently, and resolutely overcome some current difficulties in economic development" during visits he made to Sichuan Province on June 8 and 9. He reiterated that the country should "unswervingly adhere to the general policy of ’dynamic clearing’ of COVID-19."
Following Xi’s speech, Zhong Nanshan, the regime’s top medical advisor, said on June 10 at the 14th China Bio-Industry Conference that the epidemic must be prevented, but more importantly, economic stability and development must be taken into account. He added that the latter two were equally important.
"The escalation of epidemic control measures is not advisable, as it will obviously affect economic development," Zhong said, according to a report on Yicai.com, a major Chinese financial news website.
He added that pandemic control measures were not as simple as only ensuring a "dynamic clearing" of COVID-19 cases. "At present, to do a good job in epidemic prevention and control, we need to focus on precise prevention and control, and we need to rely on science." Maybe they should talk to "Mr. I Am Science". Maybe he's got some more Gain Of Function research funds.

[HODHODYEMENNEWS] At least 50 non-combatants were killed in a suspected terrorist attack on the the village of Seytenga, Seno province, in northern Burkina Faso ...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other... "So far, 50 bodies have been found," the government front man Lionel Bilgo said on Monday, adding that the search was continuing and the toll could rise.
He said the attacks came as a result of reprisals for the army’s actions against armed elements.
Burkina Faso, particularly the north and east, has been the target of takfiri ...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed... terrorist attacks since 2015, perpetrated by movements affiliated with al-Qaeda and ISIS, that have left more than 2,000 dead and 1.9 million people displaced.
The government of Burkina Faso ...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other... revealed on Tuesday that soldiers had recovered the bodies of 79 victims killed in an attack in the northern province of Seno over the weekend.
No group has grabbed credit for the armed assault on the town of Seytenga.
Survivors of the attack who managed to flee to a nearby city said that they had been left defenseless after government soldiers left the area.
Burkina Faso has been ruled by the military since a coup ousted President Roch Marc Christian Kabore in January over allegations that he had not done enough to put down the insurgency.
SURVIVORS SAY THEY WERE LEFT DEFENSELESS
The attacks first began last Thursday when an unidentified group killed 11 gendarmes in an attack on a military police post near Seytenga.
The security forces then reportedly retreated to the regional capital of Dori, abandoning the security post and leaving no protection for when the attackers came.
The gang "went from shop to shop, sometimes torching them," one man told AFP news agency. "They opened fire on anyone who tried to run away. They stayed in the town all night."
"They looted homes — they killed anyone they found, men, children. There are so many dead. It's just awful," a woman survivor said.
The government said that over 3,000 people, most of them children, arrived in Dori on Monday after fleeing the attack. A project coordinator for Medecins Sans Frontieres in Dori said the number had risen to more than 6,800 by Tuesday.

[NYPOST] The Queens man accused of hacking his nephew to death with a machete gave a grisly step-by-step account of the murder to cops, admitting, "I chopped him up," prosecutors revealed Monday.
"I’ve had enough," Mahadeo Suhnandan, 50, allegedly told police after the Sunday morning slashing death of his kin, 29-year-old Neraz Roberts, inside the family’s Hollis home.
"His whole life he wanted to kill me," Suhnandan said of the victim, according to authorities. "I chopped him up.
"I heard Neraz say he would kill me if he caught me outside," he said. "I got my ’Cutlass’ from my bed — it’s a machete. It has a wooden handle.
"I went downstairs, kicked open his door and asked him why he wants to kill me.
"He poked me with something, and I chopped him three times," Suhnandan allegedly said. "I pause between the second and third chop and said, ’You want to kill me? I will kill you,’ and then continued to chop him.
"The blood on my feet and on my sandals is his," he added. "He asked me why I chopped him. I leaned back for leverage for the big chops that caught him in the neck."
The bone-chilling account came as Judge Diego Freire ordered Suhnanda held without bail on murder charges at his arraignment in Queens court Monday.
Even the defendant’s lawyer, David Donaldson Strachan of Queens Defenders, told the judge at one point of the case, "I know, it’s a doozy."
The defendant remained quiet and composed during the proceedings.
"He has no criminal record, and this is his first arrest," Strachan noted to the judge.
Police said the brutal slaying occurred around 5 a.m. Sunday after the pair got into a heated argument the day before, prosecutors said.
Suhnandan allegedly said he called cops Saturday night after his nephew told him "he wanted to shoot me in the head" and planned to go to the 103rd Precinct later Sunday.
On Sunday, a family neighbor told The Post the family was feuding over ownership of the house after Suhnandan’s mother-in-law died from COVID about 2 1/2 years ago.
Neighbor Ryan Basdeo said the dead woman’s son — Roberts’ father — disputed ownership but was kicked out by Suhnandan earlier this year. Suhnandan is married to the dead woman’s daughter.
Roberts continued to live in the basement until he was slashed to death.
"Since the mother died, they’ve been fighting," Basdeo said. "Always cops coming here."
[Fox Business - June 3] Chevron CEO Mike Wirth says he does not expect another oil refinery to be built in the U.S. ever again, pointing to decades of federal government policies as the reason why.
"There hasn’t been a refinery built in this country since the 1970s," Wirth said at Bernstein's Strategic Decisions Conference this week, when asked about the prospect of new capacity being added in the Gulf of Mexico. "I personally don’t believe there will be a new petroleum refinery ever built in this country again."
"Capacity is added by de-bottlenecking existing units by investing in existing refineries," he explained. "But what we’ve seen over the last two years are shutdowns. We’ve seen refineries closed. We’ve seen units come down. We’ve seen refineries being repurposed to become bio refineries. And we live in a world where the policy, the stated policy of the U.S. government is to reduce demand for the products that refiners produce."
The Biden administration has sought to ease the rising prices by releasing a record 180 million barrels from the already-depleated Strategic Petroleum Reserve over six months starting in March, and by urging both foreign and domestic producers to increase output.
Wirth said that is just what the industry is doing. "We raised our Permian [Basin] production growth outlook to 15% this year," he said. "So the narrative you hear that the industry is not growing production is not true. We are growing production and our industry is growing production."

...Had My Beloved Service made any other call, the pushback would have been epic. Those kids - and 44 years after hitting the parade ground at Lackland, I can say that - pulled off something that shouldn't have even been imaginable, much less possible. It wasn't their fault that some moron decided to hang on for the ride.

In Severodonetsk, Luhansk region, up to 560 civilians remain in the bomb shelters of the Azot chemical plant. This was announced by the head of the military-civilian administration Alexander Stryuk on the air of the national telethon.
"Some food stocks have been created at Azot, there are about 540-560 people who are hiding in shelters. The enemy is actually dismantling our largest enterprise for parts," he said.
Stryuk added that the police and military are trying to help people who still remain in Severodonetsk. There is no longer any possibility of a centralized evacuation.
"Every minute, when there is an opportunity, this is carried out, but this is such a quiet evacuation. Every possible case is used for this," said the head of the CAA.
Recall that the Russian military in Severodonetsk destroy high-rise buildings and "Azot" with artillery fire . During the day, 33 houses were destroyed in the Luhansk region, 32 people were evacuated.
[Vesti] Russian military in Severodonetsk destroyed high-rise buildings and "Azot" with artillery fire. During the day, 33 houses were destroyed in the Luhansk region, 32 people were evacuated.
This was announced by the head of the Lugansk OVA Serhiy Gaidai.
According to him, the assault on the city has been going on for days in a row. The Russians use artillery to destroy high-rise buildings and industrial facilities to the ground.
"We have another targeted hit on the facilities of the Severodonetsk Azot and Fiberglass. A destroyed bridge, the premises of the regional State Emergency Service, shelled nearby villages of Sinetsky and Pavlograd.
Every day it becomes known about the dead, who are difficult to reach due to the density of shelling. Many damaged high-rise buildings in the old districts of Severodonetsk, some of them were shot by the Russian army in such a way as to be demolished to the very foundation. However, they failed to attack in the Metelkino area," Gaidai wrote.
The head of the OVA stressed that active hostilities on June 13 also took place in the areas of Toshkovka - Ustinovka, Orekhovo - Zolotoe, Kamyshevakha - Vrubovka, Vasilievka - Belogorovka, Nyrkovo - Nikolaevka.
"Due to Russian shelling, 13 houses were destroyed in Vrubovka, 11 in Toshkovka, 7 in Lisichansk, and two in Gorsky. A wounded woman from Novodruzhesk was hospitalized in a hospital in another region," he said.
According to Gaidai, the Russian army has strengthened its positions with two battalion-tactical groups.
"The Russians are trying to cordon off units of our troops in the area of the settlements of Lisichansk, Privolye, Severodonetsk, Borovskoye," the official stated.
In addition, on Monday, June 13, police and volunteers evacuated 32 people from Privolye under shelling. Civilians were hiding in bomb shelters. The police had to make three attempts to save everyone who was hiding there. Also among the evacuees were two wounded - a civilian and a military man, who received medical assistance.
We will note, the Russian military with the help of artillery strengthened the positions on the Nikolaev and Severodonetsk directions. The Russian Federation deployed two armored personnel carriers each to cover the Ukrainian-Russian border and to storm Severodonetsk.
[Fox News] In an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon, Lemon asked,
"Does the president have the stamina, physically and mentally, do you think to continue on even after 2024?"
"Don, you're asking me this question," a visibly stunned Jean-Pierre exclaimed. "Oh my gosh. He's the president of the United States."
The press secretary then laughed and told Lemon that she, 47, sometimes struggles to keep up with Biden, 79. Keep up with the gaffe corrections, or his naps?
"That is not a question that we should be even asking," she added. "Just look at the work he does. And look how he's delivering for the American public." That question was only appropriate for Trump. Jean-Pierre then brushed off criticisms from a New York Times report that surfaced earlier this week that questioned the president’s mental capabilities as "hearsay" and "not what we care about." Right, nobody cares about the New York Times. Waitaminute...
The article quoted several prominent Democrats who questioned whether Biden was the best choice to lead the party into the 2024 election. Concerns about Biden’s age and ability to lead the Democratic Party have also extended to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 82, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, 71, Axios reported.
Jean-Pierre added: "We care about how we are going to deliver for the American people. How we're going to make their lives better. That's what the president talks about. That is his focus and that's what we'll continue to focus on." He's doing a terrific job; just ask him!

So one has to wonder why his illegal tampering (bribery) has not resulted in a indictment?
Unfortunately, what Mr. Soros through his various foundations is doing is merely immoral, not illegal. He isn’t bribing anyone directly, merely donating a hellacious amount of money to foundations that donate funds and offer various services and training to like-minded candidates.

[An Nahar] Hussein al-Sheikh, a senior Paleostinian official increasingly seen as a successor to the 86-year-old President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase.... , says relations with Israel have gotten so bad that Paleostinian leaders cannot go on with business as usual.
But even if they are serious this time around, they have few options. And they appear unlikely to do anything that undermines their own limited power in parts of the occupied West Bank, which largely stems from their willingness to cooperate with Israel.
In an exclusive interview with The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, al-Sheikh defended the Paleostinian leadership in the West Bank, saying it was doing the best it could under the difficult circumstances of Israel's 55-year-old military occupation. As the point man in charge of dealing with Israel, he said there is no choice but to cooperate to meet the basic needs of Paleostinians.
"I am not a representative for Israel in the Paleostinian territories," he said. "We undertake the coordination because this is the prelude to a political solution for ending the occupation."
Al-Sheikh saw his profile rise further last month after Abbas named him the secretary-general of the Paleostine Liberation Organization. The appointment has generated speculation that al-Sheikh is being groomed for the top job — as well as criticism that the autocratic Abbas, who has not held a nationwide election since 2006, is once again ignoring the wishes of his people.
Al-Sheikh, 61, declined to say whether he wants to succeed Abbas. He said the next president should be chosen through elections, but that they could only be held if Israel allows voting in all of east Jerusalem, effectively giving it a veto over any alternative leadership.
"The Paleostinian president cannot be appointed, or come to power by force, or come because of some regional or international interest, or arrive on an Israeli tank," he said.
Al-Sheikh recited a familiar litany of complaints: Israel's government is beholden to right-wing nationalists, its prime minister opposed to Paleostinian statehood. Settlements are expanding, Paleostinians are being forcibly relocated, and the U.S. and Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... seem powerless to stop it.
"The Paleostinian leadership is on the verge of making major and difficult decisions," al-Sheikh said, when asked about Abbas' threat to cut security ties or even withdraw recognition of Israel, a cornerstone of the Oslo grinding of the peace processor in the 1990s. "We have no partner in Israel. They don't want a two-state solution. They don't want to negotiate."
But the Israelis meet with al-Sheikh all the time.
As head of the Paleostinian body that coordinates Israeli permits — and a close aide to Abbas — he meets with senior Israeli officials more often than any other Paleostinian.
Israeli officials view him as "a very, very positive player in the Paleostinian arena," said Michael Milshtein, an Israeli expert on Paleostinian affairs who used to advise COGAT, the military body in charge of civilian affairs in the West Bank.
"Because of his close relations with Israel, he can achieve a lot of positive things for the Paleostinian people," including permits and development projects, he said. But most Paleostinians "cannot really accept this kind of image of a Paleostinian leader who actually is the one who serves Israel's interest."

[NYPOST] Massive floodwaters ravaged Yellowstone National Park and nearby communities Monday, washing out roads and bridges, cutting off electricity, and forcing visitors to evacuate parts of the iconic park at the height of summer tourist season.
All entrances to Yellowstone were closed due to the deluge, caused by heavy rains and melting snowpack, while park officials ushered tourists out of the most affected areas.
There were no immediate reports of injuries, though dozens of stranded campers had to be rescued by raft in south-central Montana. Authorities also said they would be assessing a potential "loss of homes and structures" in Montana’s Stillwater County.
Elsewhere, some of the worst damage happened in the northern part of the Yellowstone and the park’s gateway communities in southern Montana. National Park Service photos of northern Yellowstone showed a landslide, a bridge washed out over a creek, and roads badly undercut by churning floodwaters of the Gardner and Lamar rivers.

The city of Boise has yet to learn what a virus the libs are and keep voting them in. The North End never made it out of the 60s. Here in the western burbs we tend not to make that call although the influx from CA and WA has polluted us a bit. Had to use 3 propane patio heaters for a todo we had yesterday...all that global warming you know.
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... i Petroleum Company (YPC) announced on Tuesday that a new oil ship was seized by the Saudi-led aggression coalition, in a new violation of the UN-brokered truce.
The company’s front man, Essam al-Mutawakel, said in a statement to Saba News that the aggression coalition seized the ship "Princess Halima", which is carrying 23,920 tons of gasoline, and prevented it from reaching the port of Hodeidah despite it having been inspected and given entry permits by the United Nations ...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships... Al-Mutawakel confirmed that "the coalition is still practicing piracy on fuel ships obtaining entry permits from the United Nations, which was unable to let in ships of a humanitarian character, either before or during the announced truce."

A gunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces in Mishipora area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
"Encounter has started at Mishipora area of #Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow, " a police spokesman said.
The encounter broke out shortly after security forces cordoned the area.

[MVTimes] The select board approved a request for a 2,500-gallon commercial propane tank for 79 Turkeyland Cove Road in Katama — owned by former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. "We’ve never had a private propane tank come to us," said select board member Arthur Smadbeck, with select board member Michael Donaroma noting a private-residence propane tank is typically a fraction of the quantity being requested.
Could it be the Donks have found a way to convert solar power to propane?

When I switched from oil furnaces to propane, I called Agway. They never sent anyone out. So I went with Amerigas, they came out the day I called, but would not put in bigger than a 400 gal tank (on a farmlet) I accepted that and settled for two fills over the course of the heating season. As Agway was not interested in my business what else was I going to do?

Regarding the Propane itself:
Propane was discovered (1910) while investigating gasoline evaporation and storage. Propane is one of several evaporating gases from GASOLINE?
Given there are 2 ways to obtain Propane
1. from distilling Natural Gas.
2. From distilling Crude oil.
BOTH of which must be drilled for, both use pipelines, both use tanker ships, both use trains, both use trucks and barges.
It uses a lot of OIL, Gas and Diesel to get from Point A, to Point B, trucked to your backyard storage tank.
Somehow, given all the Fossil Fuels used to get it to a customer. Environmentalists love it, and it is labeled an Environment Friendly product.
Go Figure?
BTW: Propane was $14.95 BBQ Grill in 2020.
It is well over $24.00 a tank now.

[NYPOST] A man was arrested last week in connection to the death of a Texas mother of four who was found dead in the trunk of her car last month, authorities said.
Christopher Maldonado was charged with tampering/ fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair (human corpse) in connection to the death of 24-year-old Angela Leean Mitchell, according to Texas City Police.
Texas City Police and US Marshals made the arrest during a traffic stop Friday.
Maldonado was the last person Mitchell was known to have been with before she disappeared, according to a missing persons flyer created by her loved ones.
Mitchell’s decomposing body was found inside the trunk of her white Honda sedan in Texas City on May 11 after police received a report of a foul odor.
Police have not revealed her suspected cause of death, but have cited the case as a "suspicious death investigation." The Galveston County Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy.
Mitchell’s mother reported her missing May 6, after she failed to return to her home in Dickinson the night before.

[NYPOST] Pope Francis ...Argentine liberation theologist, born Jorge Mario Bergoglio. He was elected pope in 2013. Rather than setting up shop in Avignon, where he belongs, the first Jesuit Pope chose to reside in the Domus Sanctae Marthae guesthouse instead of the papal apartments. He is big on climate change, against consumerism, and in favor of throwing a blanket over homosexual activity (so to speak) within the clergy. He's not real sure about the Resurrection, about Christ's divinity, and a few other things that would have gotten him burned at the stake a few hundred years ago, but he's hot for a certain South American Earth Mother Goddess... has taken a new series of swipes at Russia for its actions in Ukraine, saying its troops were brutal, cruel and ferocious, while praising "brave" Ukrainians for fighting for survival.
But in the text of a conversation he had last month with editors of Jesuit media and published on Tuesday, he also said the situation was not black and white and that the war was "perhaps in some way provoked."
While condemning "the ferocity, the cruelty of Russian troops, we must not forget the real problems if we want them to be solved," Francis said, including the armaments industry among the factors that provide incentives for war.
"It is also true that the Russians thought it would all be over in a week. But they miscalculated. They encountered a brave people, a people who are struggling to survive and who have a history of struggle," he said.
Francis then said in his own words: "We do not see the whole drama unfolding behind this war, which was perhaps somehow either provoked or not prevented."
Asking himself rhetorically if that made him "pro-Putin," he said "No, I am not. It would be simplistic and wrong to say such a thing."
[NYPOST] President Joe Biden ...... 46th president of the U.S., who gives the term geriatric a bad name. He blames Afghans for losing Afghanistan....... is "really aware" of the recent stock market decline, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Monday when asked about the fact that the Dow Jones Industrial Average has lost all of its gains since Biden took office.
The Dow closed Monday at its lowest point since January 2021 as soaring inflation and rising interest rates spur fear of an economic recession.
Before the recent stock slide, Biden often touted the market doing well, though he usually made a point of saying that he didn’t regard it as the only important economic indicator.
For example, Biden said Jan. 7, "the stock market — the last guy’s measure of everything — is about 20% higher than it was when my predecessor was there. It has hit record after record after record on my watch, while making things more equitable for working-class people. At the same time, we’ve created jobs, reduced unemployment, raised wages."
On Monday afternoon, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy confronted Jean-Pierre with that quote, saying, "President Biden once bragged about the stock market hitting ’record after record after record on my watch.’ How about now?"
"All the gains from President Biden’s time in office have been wiped out," Doocy added.

[REGNUM] At the end of August 1919, the situation on the Southern Front deteriorated sharply. In the rear of the front, in Saransk, the Don Cavalry Corps was formed. They were commanded by the former military foreman F. K. Mironov.
On Tuesday, three ISIS members were killed in a missile attack in Kirkuk Governorate.
Lt. Gen. Ali Al-Fariji, the commander of joint operations in Kirkuk, said that the 8th Division of the Iraqi army killed three terrorists with missiles.
Recently, the terrorist organization has become more active, as sleeper cells target civilians and security forces, especially in Kirkuk, Saladin, and Diyala governorates, known as "the Triangle of Death."
[Breitbart] Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too... (R) is ahead of his Democrat challenger, failed presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke; ...Kennedyeque businessman, musician, skateboard artiste, and politician who represented Texas' 16th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019. Beto is a Latino nickname for people whose names end in "erto," like "Roberto" or "Alberto." He is seeking the Dem nomination for President in 2020 because he has nice hair and lots of teeth. He was born into a local political family in El Paso, Texas and is a graduate of a prep school and Columbia University, which is not in Texas. In 2005, he was elected to the El Paso City Council. He was elected to Congress in 2012 after defeating eight-term incumbent Silvestre Reyes in the Democratic primary. He declined to seek re-election in 2018, instead running for the Senate against Republican Ted Cruz, running a campaign that drew national attention because of his skateboarding skills. A few months after he lost, he announced his campaign for President... , by 19 points, according to a new poll.
Blueprint Polling found that 56 percent of Texas voters support Abbott, compared to 37 percent support for O’Rourke. An additional seven percent of Texas voters remain undecided ahead of November’s general election.
These latest poll numbers are the first to come out since O’Rourke crashed Gov. Abbott’s presser in the wake of the Uvalde school shooting. During the presser O’Rourke interrupted, he told the governor, "You’re doing nothing," in regards to school safety.
O’Rourke’s outburst prompted the Uvalde mayor to call O’Rourke a "sick son of a bitch."
"He needs to get his ass out of here/ Sir, you’re out of line! Sir, you’re out of line! Please leave this auditorium.," the mayor told O’Rourke. "I can’t believe... you’re a sick son of a bitch," the mayor continued, "that would come to an event like this to make political issues."
The latest poll numbers show that O’Rourke’s stunt backfired and harmed his gubernatorial campaign.
Blueprint Polling surveyed 603 Texas voters from June 8 to June 10. The poll’s margin of error is 3.9 percent.

[Federalist] After heavy rains triggered flooding and rockslides in Yellowstone National Park this week, federal officials shut down Wyoming’s largest tourist destination while the state’s at-large lawmaker remains fixated on an effort to indict former President Donald Trump.
On Monday, the National Park Service announced a full evacuation of the park, which is larger than the states of Delaware and Rhode Island combined, and closed its five entrances to visitors.
"Due to record flooding events in the park and more precipitation in the forecast, we have made the decision to close Yellowstone to all inbound visitation," said Yellowstone superintendent Cam Sholly in a press release keeping the park closed at least through Wednesday. "We will not know timing of the park’s reopening until flood waters subside and we’re able to assess the damage throughout the park."
At the same time that Wyoming’s largest attraction shut down, the state’s sole congresswoman, Liz Cheney, was in Washington D.C. conducting the second episode of her beloved Jan. 6 Committee’s Soviet-style show trial to prosecute Trump and his supporters. So far, a single tweet Tuesday afternoon is the extent of Cheney’s public addressing of the flooding that’s shut down her state’s top recreational space which drew 4.9 million visits last year and added more than $444 million to local communities in 2020.
The flooding is "probably the worst thing that’s happened disaster-wise since the fires of ’88," said Jeff Olson, a resident of Cheney’s adopted hometown, in an interview with Jackson Hole News & Guide. "To have all five entrances closed because of one event during the summer season? It’s crazy."
In 1988, fires ravaged the park all summer burning down about 800,000 acres, or more than a third of the park, according to the National Park Service.
The last two press releases from Cheney’s office, however, are each transcripts of her remarks in Monday’s Jan. 6 hearing. Despite the fact that half of her state is under the jurisdiction of the federal government, the Wyoming lawmaker is also no longer on the House Natural Resources Committee, having instead embraced her vendetta against Trump and his supporters as a hallmark of her time in the lower chamber.
Cheney has faced rising criticism about her absence from the state as she uses her remaining time in Congress to spar with Trump. The Wyoming representative serves as vice chair of the Democrats’ weaponized Jan. 6 Committee, where her appointment from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi followed a prohibition on members appointed by the House minority leader. In April, a Federalist analysis of campaign finance data in her race against Trump-endorsed attorney Harriet Hageman revealed Cheney is relying on Beltway donors to fund a fourth term. Only 2 percent of the incumbent congresswoman’s total contributions, with $10 million to spend this cycle, came among Wyoming constituents.
On a rare visit to the state in February, Cheney snubbed voters to mingle with reporters instead.

[AmericanThinker] Before the 2020 presidential election, I became curious about political polls claiming that Joe Biden had a ten-percentage-point lead over Donald Trump. At that time, Trump was addressing crowds in the thousands. When he was not barricaded in his basement, Biden was lucky to draw a crowd of a hundred. That did not seem right.
So I did some research and concluded that the polls were undercounting Republicans. In one of the articles, which you can read here, I predicted the silent Trump vote to be north of two percent of the electorate. I was not the first to consider this, but I was one of the first to make a prediction.
Polling organizations would not admit their polls were biased against Republicans. However, it turned out my estimate was too low by half. In fact, the polling error for the 2020 election was roughly 4% nationwide, the largest in the last 40 years.
Fast-forward to today. Inflation is 8+ percent, the price of food and gasoline is way up, crime is up, there is a nationwide shortage of baby formula, and don't get me started on the border crisis. Yet Joe Biden's job approval is close to 40% positive. That means almost four out of every ten Americans think Joe is doing a good job if you believe the RealClearPolitics average. And I don't.
It is possible that Biden's job approval is being helped by positive coverage from the news and social media. But I am not buying that, either. Spin can go only so far, and even rank-and-file Democrats have to fill their gas tanks and buy groceries.
The big difference between today and two years ago is that pollsters will now admit that their results are systemically biased against conservatives. For example, in an article published in Vox, pollster David Shor said:
For three cycles in a row, there's been this consistent pattern of pollsters overestimating Democratic support in some states and underestimating support in other states. It happened in 2018. It happened in 2020. And the reason that's happening is because the way that [pollsters] are doing polling right now just doesn't work.
Pollsters face two fundamental problems. One is developing an accurate voter turnout model that predicts who is likely to vote. The other is getting an unbiased measurement of what voters think, known as a random sample.
The turnout model is usually based on demographic distributions and historical voting records. If pollsters get the model wrong, it can bias their results. For example, in the 2020 election, most turnout models did not account for Republicans who rarely vote, participating in larger numbers than predicted.
The second problem is getting a random sample of the electorate. Unfortunately, in recent elections, this has become increasingly difficult to do. Although there are several theories as to why this is happening, it boils down to two issues. One is technology, and the other is a lack of trust in political polls.
As recently as the 1990s, pollsters could count on getting a random sample of responses to telephone surveys, but not anymore. Although most Americans have a cell phone, prohibitions on auto-dialing cell phones mean that pollsters continue to call landlines. This is problematic because landlines have a different demographic from the general population. And many of them have Caller ID, allowing voters to see who is calling.
Explanatory details at the link.
On top of nonresponse bias, another fly in Democrat approval numbers is that most polls currently sample registered voters rather than likely voters. Nate Silver believes that midterm polls of registered voters tend to lean toward Democrats.
We estimate that on average in midterm years since 1990, registered voter polls have had a 2.6 percentage-point Democratic bias — compared against likely voter polls, which have been unbiased.
If the polls are overestimating approval numbers for Biden and other Democrats, how bad is it? The political climate today is different since the 2020 election, but the Democrat poll bias seems intact, which was 4% nationwide. Since nonresponse bias, 4%, and registered voter bias, 2.6%, should be mutually exclusive, we can add them together. This gives us a total Democrat bias of roughly 6.5%
What does this mean? Until pollsters switch to sampling likely voters right before the election, you can subtract a solid 6 percent from Joe Biden's approval numbers. And if nothing changes before the election, any Democrat who leads by 3 percent or less is likely to lose.
Democrats had better pray I am not underestimating the number of hidden Republican voters, as I did in 2020.

Typically after people catch on to their games the liberals change their terminology. This happens every decade or so. liberals become progressives become lefties become third wave socialists, etc.
I'm wondering if they are checking out possible replacements for the term Democrat after the 2022 midterm beating or if they'll wait until 2024. Maybe replace the donkey symbol with a dead horse.

Just remember that for polling companies to sell their services, they have to keep the rubes on the fishing line. You come to them with - hey, look, the numbers say you're about to be blown out of the water, and the rubes and their money will probably go elsewhere to be lied to.
The idea used to be, candidates assert their policy for governance, their genuine philosophy and consistent principles, and polling will see how people react to it. If they like it, you will be chosen to serve in office.
What has now become the rule, is they poll to determine what people find most beneficial individually, and craft a messaging theme to sell them on the idea of giving you power to get it. Not a genuine consistent policy, just promises and vague phrases like "fighting for you". Blacks in America have been biting at that hook for well over 80 years.
We have devolved from common purpose as fellow citizens, to tribal and cultural grouping, always divided by haves and have nots, with the "other" as de-facto enemy to be controlled and dis-empowered, in a zero-sum mindset. From land of opportunity and individual responsibility to mandated "equity" (from equality of opportunity to equal outcome).
Remember, in polling, information about you is the product they sell to people seeking power over your life, career, finances and safety. Imagine if you answer polling question that you are helping build an economic, cultural and political target folder on yourself...

It's a family business where there's a legally necessary division of labor.
Those not holding elected office manage promotion, customer acquisition and customer relations, among other thing by selling vouchers paintings and by promising aspiring customers that services will be rendered upon payment.
These bought services are then indeed totatlly coincidentally rendered by relatives holding elected office.

[Korrespondent] 23:33 Podolyak explained why negotiations with Moscow are impossible at the current stage: "For us, any peace process today, which was in 2014-2015, is fraught with a postponed war. The first deputy chairman of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation predicted that government spending on defense would increase by 600-700 billion rubles, which could approach a 20% increase in Russia's defense budget. However, the industry may struggle, partly due to the effects of sanctions and lack of experience. Russia's production of high-quality optics and advanced electronics is likely to remain problematic and could undermine its efforts to replace equipment lost in Ukraine, analysts say.

He stressed that US efforts are focused on providing Ukraine with medium and long-term assistance. Medium-term assistance is to support the continued operation of the Ukrainian government.
"We have already allocated $1 billion for this purpose through various mechanisms and intend to send $1.5 billion more every month for four to five months," Hogan said. He noted that over the past three months, the United States has already allocated about $53.6 billion in assistance to Ukraine, including military, and this is the largest assistance that the United States has provided to Europe since the Marshall Plan.

Now we can’t tell them: sorry guys, you were waving the wrong flag,” said one of the senior officials.
However, the recognition of Ukraine as a candidate country will require the unanimous approval of 27 countries in the European Council, and now at least three of them are still opposed, the newspaper notes, without naming the country.
07:05 Russian troops have transferred additional battalion-tactical groups to the Severodonetsk direction. The enemy has partial success in the Bakhmut direction, is fixed in the village of Vozrozhdenie, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports in the morning report . The enemy also establishes full control over Bogorodichny north of Slavyansk, trying to gain a foothold in the center of Severodonetsk.

However, the most cynical case was the installation by the Russians of a mine between a murdered mother and her living child, whom they tied to the woman's corpse.

Rogov said that the residents of Berdyansk associated any emergencies in the city with "Ukraine's attempts to disrupt peaceful life in the" liberated "areas."
"Deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs" Alexei Selivanov also said that unknown people planted an explosive device in Melitopol to disrupt the "Day of Russia." [NYPOST] A man in London picked the wrong place at the wrong time to stir up trouble.
Julius Francis, a 57-year-old former professional boxer who was once the British champion and in 2000 fought Mike Tyson, is now a security guard at BOXPARK Wembley.
In the video, a man in a blue du-rag is seen repeatedly yelling obscenities at the security staff and other people who appeared to be workers at the venue, saying “f–k you!” too many times to count, and yelling, “I’ll f–k you up!”
Warning: violence and language
Former British heavyweight champion Julius Francis (who fought Mike Tyson) now working as security at BOXPARK Wembley and dealing with some trouble today…
The man shoves multiple people as a group of security guards try to nudge him away from a set of guardrails around the space.
About 45 seconds into the clip, Francis unleashes an absolutely vicious right-hand, knocking the rabble rouser down with one of the most severe head-shots you’ll ever see in a viral internet video.
“When your mouth writes a check …” observed Sports Illustrated and DAZN boxing reporter Chris Mannix.

[MaineCoastTV] Russian President Vladimir Putin has given another of his...heavy-on-the-revisionist-history speeches. This time, he categorized the Great Northern War--the 18th century conflict that saw the Tsardom of Russia successfully challenge Sweden for Baltic superiority--as one where Russia "reclaimed" such territories as Estonia and Latvia. As with Moscow's claims that places like Ukraine have always been a part of Russia, this is just simply not true.
But reality isn't the point. Or rather, the Russian president is delivering a Russian "reality" to the bulk of the Russian people. This is primarily an insular conversation, where a strongman is trying to justify a war of expansion. But it also sends a warning to a Sweden and Finland that have already moved ahead to join NATO: we have beaten you in the past, we consider much of your neighborhood as properly our own, and don't sleep too comfortably in your beds at night.
The latter might be a projection of Putin's, or Russia's, strategic anxieties but that doesn't mean we should dismiss them out of hand. As seen in the graphic from my first book below, the Russia of today is not what we'd consider geographically secure. It is not an island power detached from mainland squabbles like Japan or the United Kingdom. Nor is it a mountain fortress like Iran. Russia is a vast territory--difficult and expensive to secure--and its more densely populated western core features multiple invasion routes for those who would be so inclined.

" Sweden and Finland that have already moved ahead to join NATO" Turkey threw a wrench into that one.Russia and China are vast territories. I don't see media attacks on the leadership of China of cancer, mental instability or delusions of world conquest when China is the bugger here in this day and age.

Well, I mean, everyone from from Tom Freidman to Tony Fauxi says we should be more like china. Who's gonna argue with experts like those?

Our former NATO assigned troops could be put to very good use along the Mexican border.
Tip to the Euro's and our former NATO allies; keep an eye on the Russian rail system. If they are coming your way, it appears they'll be arriving via train. Just something I recently noticed.

That’s been one of my primary take aways from the Ukrainian conflict. On both sides - one train line is barely adequate for supplying defense but two train lines operating fuel an advance. Not much change from WW2 if you study logistics from that period. Trucks simply can’t transport enough POL, munitions and armor to REMAB sites to establish critical mass for an offense

Yeah, and they remember what all those Russians did to Napoleon and Hitler. So now it's no surprise if Russians think of NATO as the 21st Century version of wannabe conquerors from the West. And you think that just because Joe Biden says it ain't so that it ain't?
Face it, folks, it's been dirty for dirty for centuries and Russians are not the only ones with a history of aggression. Too bad we can't just get along.

the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence

Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
