#1 Many observers believe that the wall is being built because Israel has failed to halt Palestinians by other means from crossing into Israel to find work to support their families.

Isn't that just the pinnacle of irony? Few Palestinians can be found that wouldn't readily cheer the death of Jews, yet they somehow have no qualms about looking for/going to work in Israel.
