#7 In US law, its not enuff to confess to a crime - the confessor as an American citizen is still innocent until proven guilty, i.e. the physical evidence overwhelmingly matches his "confession" or material circumstances therein. OTOH, the expensive Steak?-and-Prawns/Shrimp meal on the plane from Thailand was a bit much, espec for someone whose been on the run since the 1980's.
"CONFESSING" TO KILL A LITTLE GIRL + PEDOPHILIA = EATING STEAK-AND-SHRIMP??? US TAXPAYERS SAVED A [GUILTY?] AMERICAN FROM THAI PRISON, ONLY TO SEE HIM GO TO A US PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL/
INSTITUTION AGAIN AT TAXPAYER'S EXPENSE??? Methinks its safe to say US credibility-prestige, includ for US law enforcement, is gonna take a hit wid this one.

"I find it incredible that Boulder authorities wasted thousands of taxpayer dollars to bring Karr to Colorado given such a lack of evidence. [Boulder district attorney] Mary Lacy should be held accountable for the most extravagant and expensive DNA test in Colorado history."
