#9 Thanks to everybody who's kicked in.

Because my current employer is meticulous about not overpaying me, this started as a routine bleg to make sure hosting's covered.

Then last night the power supply started going up on my laptop. Shuts down without warning, overheats, and the wireless card's nowhere to be found.

Today I came home from work and my desktop monitor had departed this vale of tears.

#10 If it overheats, esp if a Toshiba, then you might try cleaning out the fan and heatsink. Instructions on taking apart your model laptop can be found on the web.
