#1 YOUR FIRE COMMAND HAS BEEN ABORTED. YOUR PID REGISTRATION CODE IS NOT RECOGNIZED BY THE PENTAGON SERVER. RE-ENTER PID REGISTRATION CODE AND HIT ENTER ON THE TRIGGER GUARD BUTTON.

#3 These will be installed in automated guard towers. I predict a lot of dead wildlife until they get the bugs worked out.

#4 Interesting ... some projects never die just come out of the spin cycle with a new suit.

Wonder if it's based on the LockMart 50cal robot sniper?

Wonder if its the same team that delivered some junk "combat environment ready" versions of stuff that died in rain and heat....?

I will say the price is much better this time around... much better...

#8 Meanwhile, sales are brisk on a small, imported electronic device that you hang around your neck, which emits continuous false crosswind data.....

#9 The remote weapon system my company offers has a lot of this stuff already built into it. You just lase the target to get range and it provides an offset reticle. While it doesn't take into account wind, temp and pressure, it still provides a capability equal to all but the best snipers.

Oh, and it is available right now, deployed right now and working (in the rain, cold, dust, etc.) right now.

Re: the automated towers...that too, but there is always a human in the loop to hit the trigger button. Not to say that it couldn't be automated, but that is not a legal option at present.

#10 DARPA may have been working on this already - last year a group got permission to come onto the local range "and measure bullet speed". Also very interested in caliber and wt. Kind of freaked when I fired off low power target rounds. They kind of wooshed instead of banged and sauntered to the target.
