#6 Considering how warm it is in Sochi its quite understandable that typical winter sports outfits would be just too hot.

Of course I might be a bit biased ... it's too cold here to desire to go outside. Sochi is looking like a warmer haven. It's -6F outside as I type this compared to Sochi's current 55F or 61F warmer.

55F is not a winter game! It's a late spring game.

#7 IIRC they had similar temperature issues at the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Maybe its the balance to the Gore Effect.
