#1 Now, I have a high opinion of the IDF and occasionally send them pizza (pizzaidf.org) but they are not police. I would think that any car army fires on shouldn't be able to drive away or dodge or do anything except maybe explode and burn for a while.

You need bigger guns!

#2 A 556 is not the best anti-vehicle weapon. Nor is a 9mm.

#3 It said they were manning a checkpoint, so they should have had a Mk-19 or at least an M2HB there. Even a underbarrel grenade launcher would have helped though I'm a little dubious that most people are going to be able to hit a moving car with that.
