#3 The technology is a step up. It gives trillions of people a public soap box to stand on.

Unfortunately, these companies get bought out by control freaks or are owned by over the night success people who suddenly find themselves in the spot light of those who want to control info to trillions of users. Then they become noodle spined and cave to the left.
