American diplomats in Cuba may have been exposed to pesticides, not 'sonic weapons'

#1 I'm awaiting our usual source and his 'government controlled experiment' post and theory.

#4 It should be useful to know if some of the affected diplomats were taking Alzheimer's, Parkinson's or schizophrenia medication. Since moderate acetylcholinesterase inhibitors are used in those meds (like donepezil hydrochloride), even a low dose fumigation of pesticides near someone under medication could maybe lead to that.

That an entire contingent of diplomats would be actually senile or loony and didn't tell the medics is not my assertion though. Just that it's... possible. Was everyone affected or just some people ?

#5 This is the cover story. The condition was likely caused by a defensive anti surveillance device. They were so quick to blame TEH ROOSHINS.

Didn't this happen in another embassy as well? It would explain the issue. You think they're going to admit it in public?

By the way, name calling and insults aren't arguments. Show of hands, who trusts the US government any farther than you can throw it?

#10 Okay, Herb. So what device ? You don't have a theory except for just imagined intent. What produces similar phenomena ?

#11 Due to non-permissive northerly prevailing winds, perhaps the fogger was situation directly on the US Embassy compound, or piped directly into the AC system. Skeeter chlorination, etc. Anti-vaxer alert within the hour.

Please investigate that pesky noise. It could a telephone....Morgan & Morgan, who knows.

#12 Show of hands, who trusts the US government any farther than you can throw it?

For the record, I don't trust *any* large hierarchical organization. But I'm torn between a) pointing out that this is not evidence of anything and b) the general principle of "Don't feed the troll".

OK, after a calming sip of coffee, I'm going with b). One of the things I cherish about Rantburg is the high quality of both the snark and the discussion. In far too many places, "debate" consists of two sides endlessly trading talking points and insults. Ain't gonna add to it.

#13 What produces similar phenomena?

The alteration of spontaneous low frequency oscillations caused by acute electromagnetic fields exposure.

Chinese earbuds.

I'm surprised Erb's keepers make him work weekends.

#14 I'm not a "troll". Troll used to have a meaning, and now it's "person I disagree with but can't formulate any coherent arguments against, so I'm going to call him a name and that settles it."

This has been a feature of the Left since Trump was elected. It's distressing to see it break out on Rantburg as well.

So the Chinese were spraying for mosquitoes too? Or is it that the super sekret anti-surveillance device was deployed there, too? Hmm, which explanation is the least complicated?

It's just that they were so fast to blame TEH ROOSHINS for Cuba. This screams confirmation bias.

You're right, I don't have any proof. And if I displayed any, you'd all be on the line to turn me in for possessing classified information. It's the Kobiyashi Maru, the no-win situation.

#15 Nobody blamed the Rooshins, you fool. We blamed the Cubans. It also happened in China, which makes your comments *blow apart*.

#16 Meh... you just wanna point fingers. How can anyone agree or argue if you don't regale us with this 'super sekret' tech first ?

It's like an 'Aliens raped me !' story. Why, and most importantly, how ?

#17 So it was all that no-good neo-con Donald Trump's fault? That bad, bad, bad Donald Trump? Just like Russian collusion, Jussie Smollet, the Covington kids and Charlottesville? No chance at all that decades old, hard-core enemies of America had anything to do with it?

#18 Too lazy to go look for the link, but the other day there was a story about the ChiComs working on a sonic crowd control device.

#20 They blamed TEH ROOSHINS because during the Cold War the Soviets had worked on microwave weapons. Did we forget this? It was only about a year ago and it was all over the place.

I can't even figure out what #17 is trying to say.

#22 You don't think every one at the Embassy was a volunteer, Deep Stater who salivated to be the first in the Havana station? Reminds me of the old adage - Be careful what you wish for.
