#4 It is interesting to watch this story evolve. The other day, it was a missile attack on a public square. Today, the public square is a government building. Inquiring minds will wonder what sort of government activities were taking place there.

#7 Putin needs more dead civilians and infrastructure destroyed. He doesn't care, being the brutal dictator that he is. But Zelensky and the West do care, and the theory is this will bring them to the negotiation more quickly and willing to accept harsher terms. He may even pop a tac nuke (10-20kt) to add to the effects.

It worked for the US when up against the fanatic Japanese.
