#5 The writer seems to think that your liberal family members will sit quietly and listen while you present these facts. That has certainly not been my experience. Far more likely they will become quite agitated, shout denials while you're trying to speak and might even start foaming at the mouth all over the cranberry sauce. Highly unlikely that you'll change anybody's mind. In the interest of peace in the family, it's best if you can convince everybody beforehand that there are certain subjects that will not be discussed over Thanksgiving Dinner.

#6 I have one very liberal feminist niece. Her mother, my cousin is slightly left of sane too. Now liberals have no fucking manners, they'll bring their angst into your home and wave it around, create a scene. One get together, the girl started shouting about how all men must DIE! And nobody should argue with her as she knows best. I simply put her out with a crushed valium in her wine. As her daddy was loading her into the backseat of their Volvo later, he asked me 'You think she could be on drugs?' I gave him some line about rapid release of melatonin after a raving outburst being characteristic in post pubescent youngsters these days. 'The pineal gland gets a workout', I said. 'They blow up simply, then lie down spent'.

I do not think he was convinced. But the evening was salvaged. Next time they visited, she was very well behaved.
