A reasonable question. Water temp is in the mid 40s. For the last week or two, high winds have been a nearly constant thing. The gales of November is not just a line in "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald".

High wind means rip currents for unwary swimmers. Cold water means hypothermia for anyone immersed. Nature is unforgiving.
