[AlAhram] A delegation from the Paleostinian group Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", has left Cairo after a four-day round of talks with Egypt’s intelligence chief and other officials over Egyptian support for measures aimed at easing the humanitarian crisis in Gazoo and Paleostinian reconciliation.
The delegation was headed by Hamas deputy political chief Saleh al-Arouri and other group officials including Mosa Abo Marzok, Khalil al-Hayya, Hossam Badran, Ezzat al-Rishq and Rohi Mushtaha.
The group met with Egypt’s intelligence chief Abbas Kamel and other intelligence officials handling the Paleostinian reconciliation dossier.
In a statement following their visit, Hamas said its delegation reiterated its wish to achieve reconciliation and Paleostinian national unity on a basis of partnership in resistance and decision-making, adding that achieving unity includes immediately lifting sanctions imposed by the Paleostinian Authority on Hamas.
They also restated their wish for reassembling the Paleostinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) through a new national unity council according to the outcomes of the meeting of Paleostinian factions in Beirut in 2017, as well as a full and comprehensive execution of Cairo’s 2011 agreement between the factions without any redaction or selectivity.
Abo Marzok described the latest round of talks as "the most important and comprehensive in terms of topics discussed."
The relationship between Hamas and rival Fatah has been witnessing political escalation.
Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial... said that for reconciliation to take place, Hamas must hand over their facilities in Gazoo as agreed upon in reconciliation talks, adding that "this has to be demonstrated in the upcoming period."
Fatah is calling for an execution of terms for reconciliation, which collapsed after Paleostinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah survived an assignation attempt last March as he was heading to Gazoo to continue talks for reconciliation, which was reached between the two rival factions in Cairo in 2017.
Hamas announced at the time that it is not responsible for the attack on the Paleostinian PM.
The PLO’s executive committee member Azzam al-Ahmed said that Cairo received a report last week from the PLO's Gazoo Committee, which Cairo said was objective, and which al-Ahmed asked Hamas to show same level of objectivity.
According to sources in Cairo, the outcomes of the report echo Abbas' demand that Hamas hands over facilities and continue the previous agreed upon arrangements, which the sources say means there is still room for harmonisation between the two parties.

Addressing his supporters via a televised speech broadcast from the Yemeni capital city of Sana’a on Friday afternoon, Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi stated that Riyadh and Abu Dhabi regimes are struggling with mounting economic crises as they are pouring huge sums of money into the pockets of US statesmen.
He warned that the United States and Israel are doing their best in order to bring all aspects of Yemenis’ lives under their control, stressing that utter humiliation awaits the Yemeni nation in case it cedes to arrogant powers’ plots.
"Enemies are trying to divert our nation from the right path. They are seeking to transform Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... into a society beset with problems, diseases and ethical issues," the Ansarullah chief pointed out.
He underlined that no Moslem society would become subservient to the US and the Tel Aviv regime unless it distances from Islamic teachings and ethics.
"Enemies want to separate us from the principles of true Islam, and then present us a distorted version of the monolithic religion. They want to distort Islam because its true version emphatically rejects submission to aggressors. Whatever enemies do is solely meant to take our Yemeni nation away from true Islam," Houthi said.

[Bloomberg] France is revamping its anti-terrorism organizations by creating a single operational team to oversee all of the country’s intelligence and prosecution to counter terror threats and plots on its soil, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said.
"We must give new possibilities to our action," Philippe said in a press conference at the headquarters of France’s domestic intelligence service DGSI in Levallois-Perret near Paris. "The Islamist-inspired threat remains particularly high."
France’s investigative police, financial investigators, domestic intelligence, and prison service will all report daily to the unit that will be overseen and commanded by DGSI chiefs. The group will be up and running during the summer. The government is also creating a dedicated anti-terrorism prosecutor’s office and adding 1,900 agents by 2022, Philippe said.
French security forces have foiled 25 attacks since January 2017 but the government is particularly concerned by the release of 450 prisoners from French jails this year who have showed signs of radicalization, including 50 who have been sentenced for terrorism. A special team will oversee the prison exit of individuals who could pose a threat, Philippe said.
The prime minister’s office published 32 measures to fight terrorism, and Philippe added eight other measures that will remain behind-the-scenes. The measures include tighter surveillance of those under house arrest, greater coordination with the welfare system to track suspects, and expanding the role of military patrols beyond their current patrolling duties.

"Contract negotiations on T129 ATAK helicopters between Ottoman Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and the Pak Ministry of Defense Production were finalized," Turkey’s official Anadolu news agency cited the Ottoman Turkish Defense Industries Undersecretariat (SSB) as saying on Friday.
Military sources, requesting anonymity, said the helicopters will be delivered gradually over five years, and that the TAI has also agreed to provide logistics, spare parts, training, and ammunition services.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Anadolu in November 2017, former Pak Minister for Defense Production and Minister for Science and Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain said his country planned to procure 30 attack helicopters and four naval ships from Turkey.
On July 5, Ottoman Turkish Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli said Ankara had won a tender to build four corvettes for the Pakistain Navy, describing the deal as "the largest defense export of Turkey in one agreement."

[Rudaw] Norway increased its contribution from just over $13.5 million in 2017 to nearly $19 million in 2018 for the clearance of mines and explosives in Iraq and Syria.
"Mine clearance is crucial to prevent the loss of civilian lives, to ensure access for emergency aid, and to enable hundreds of thousands of internally displaced people to return safely to their homes," the Norwegian Foreign Minister, Ine Eriksen Soreide, said in a blurb by the government on Thursday.
"This is why we are now increasing our support for mine clearance in Iraq and Syria," she added.
The most heavily affected areas are djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... city in Iraq and Raqqa in Syria, two ISIS strongholds since the terror group rose to power in 2014.
Mosul city was liberated from ISIS a year ago in July 2017. Three years of ISIS control over Mosul and military operations to liberate the city left key infrastructure in ruins, posing the largest rebuilding and stabilization challenges in recent history.
The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced the "total liberation" of Raqqa on October 20 of last year. ISIS had referred to the city as its capital.
According to UN figures, a high number of mines and other unwent kaboom! devices remain in the two cities, with some 50 to 70 civilians being killed in Raqqa alone each week.
"The human suffering caused by these explosives must be brought to an end. The situation in Raqqa and Mosul is particularly serious," Soreide said. "A substantial share of Norway's support for mine clearance is being channeled to these two cities."
At its height, about 10 million people were living under ISIS rule, according to the US-led Coalition, when the group controlled Iraq's second-largest city of Mosul, Syria's Raqqa, and many other areas.

Anbar (IraqiNews.com) A source from the intelligence of mobilization forces in Anbar has revealed intentions of Islamic State to carry out terrorist attacks against three regions in west of the province.
Speaking to Almaalomah website on Thursday, the source said, “information provided by the intelligence of security troops indicated intentions of Islamic State members to carry out suicide attacks targeting regions of Rutba, Qaim and Akashat in west of Anbar, which urged security troops to tighten measures there.”
The militants, according to the source, “try to boost the spirits of its elements through suicide attacks at these regions, especially that huge losses were inflicted on the group in Syria, which forced it to step back.”
Security troops, “noticed presence of militants in deserts of these regions, however, some militants are still in hideouts at desert areas,” the source added.
Anbar (IraqiNews.com) The United States is planning to install its third military base near Iraq’s borders with Syria, an official security source was quoted saying on Friday.
BasNews quoted the source from Iraq’s Anbar province saying that the U.S. is planning to inaugurate its third base in western Anbar, near the borders with Syria, to join its already operating bases, Ain al-Assad (in al-Baghdadi region) and Habbaniya (east of the city of Ramadi).
According to the security source, the new base will cater for Iraqi and international affairs in upstream Euphrares cities, and will over see the Anbar cities of Rutba, Qaem, Hadtiha, Annah, Rawa, the western desert and the strategic international road.

[PRESSTV] As an apparent goodwill gesture, Israel has offered one of its self-prized Merkava tanks as a present to a Jordanian museum.
The tank was transferred to Jordan in recent weeks aboard a flatbed truck, The Jerusalem Post reported on Thursday. It will be put on show at the Royal Tank Museum.
The paper billed the offering as "a sign of growing defense and diplomatic ties."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of Military Affairs Avigdor Lieberman had to sign off on the decision since it meant trusting Amman with a "most top-secret" weapon, it said.
The daily hailed the Merkava as one of "the most lethal and protected tanks in the world".
Five of the tanks were, however, destroyed during Israel’s war on Leb in 2006 during confrontations with the resistance movement of Hezbollah, which broke the myth of invincibility built around the vehicle.
Aside from Egypt, Jordan is one of the only two Arab governments that have open diplomatic ties with Israel.
The Israeli embassy in Amman shut down last July after two Jordanians were bumped off by the embassy guard, prompting the return to Israel of the Israeli ambassador along with the guard involved in the shooting.

Both the U.S. and Israel want Iran to pull out of Syria, while Russia has warned it would be unrealistic to expect Iran to fully withdraw from the country.
A possible deal could see Syrian troops replacing Iranian forces and Hizbullah ...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory... fighters in the areas near the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
Velayati reaffirmed Iran's firm intention to maintain its presence in Syria, but skirted a question about a possible pullback from the border, saying only that Tehran won't bow to U.S. and Israeli coercion.
"We coordinate the Iranian presence in Syria with Russia and Syria," Velayati said during a meeting at Moscow's Valdai Club discussion platform. "We will be present there the way we consider necessary. Sometimes we will play our role in Syria open-handed, sometimes we will do it with our hands hidden."
While Velayati maintained a combative tone, his careful response reflected the intense diplomatic maneuvering ahead of the Helsinki summit.
He expressed skepticism about the outcome of the meeting, repeating tough criticism of the U.S. and saying he didn't expect Trump to make any positive contribution to stabilizing the Middle East.
Velayati argued that Iran along with Russia helped stem fighting in Syria and prevented the country from falling to the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group and other bully boys, scoffing at the U.S. demands to leave.
"We have come there without the Americans' permission and we won't heed their demands to leave," he said.
Velayati also strongly warned Russia against listening to the U.S. arguments about the Iranian presence in Syria.
"I told the Russian officials: Now the Americans are telling you that the Iranians must leave Syria and tomorrow they will ask you what you are doing in Syria," he said. "They are trying to split our alliance."
