[Al Arabiya] The legacy of the Afghan Taliban movement regarding the education of girls is well known and has been reinforced, through the Fatwas issued by the movement when it ruled during the period of 1996 to 2001, prohibiting the education of girls after age 9. It seems that the Taliban did not learn anything from its experiences, after its exclusion from governance.
"Exclusion from governance." What a quaint way to say, "lost the war."
It has not changed any of its outdated concepts, which are an insult to Islam and Muslims, and many of its practices are contrary to the tolerance of the religion. If they return to power, they will restore the same characteristics which made their reign a model of violence, oppression and backwardness.

A big way around this problem is to set up a "national girls school", an enormous boarding school in the safest part of the country, surrounded by a military base, that all girls in the worst part of the country must attend by law.
Not impossible, and if done properly would create a schism, of girls who are educated and independent, who are free to *not* choose Taliban boys as husbands.
And if by being a Taliban, boys are deprived of wives, there will be a marked decrease in the number of Taliban. Of course they will try to kidnap wives, which is why vigorous self-defense is an essential part of the girls schooling.
"You can kill me, but I'm not going to make babies for you", is a major turn-off. As is, "As soon as you go to sleep, I'm going to bash your head in with a big rock."
All the teachers at the school would be women educators, likely from other countries. The girls could only be visited by their mothers, under close supervision, at intervals.
Their religious instruction would be Sufi, not Wahabbi, and with a heavy dose of secularism.
Once they graduate from school, employment awaits them as bureaucrats for the government.
Theres some very delicate military manoeuvring going on in the Pacific region right now. At the moment, its all very civil and diplomatic, but theres an edgy undercurrent. You see, the United States has been the big kid with the big stick in the neighbourhood for 60 years. Its been the dominant naval force and, as a result, its all been very peaceful. But now, that power is being challenged.
China has made mind-blowing investments in its Navy. And according to more than a few defence experts, Chinas firepower more than matches the United States. Ship for ship, China may not equal America it certainly doesnt have as many aircraft carriers but its submarines and long-range missiles could easily cause the U.S Pacific Fleet some serious damage.
Now, China is in no way showing any signs of aggression. It hasnt flexed any of its newly-bulging navy muscle. But the United States is worried, and so is Australia.
Thats why they, and 11 other Pacific nations, have just rehearsed high seas warfare off the coast of Hawaii. Not surprisingly, China wasnt invited, but that doesnt mean they were snubbed. It just means that the American-lead Pacific coalition is finely tuning its fleet to see how it might match the Chinese.

However, if your economy is predicated upon international trade and critical imports, you can't simply just cause 'serious damage'. You have to establish supremacy upon your sea routes. Otherwise you get economically choked to death.

As a matter of History, A WAR(S) BETWEEN AN ESTABLISHED POWER + AN UP-N-COMER OCCURS MORE THAN NOT - it would be more surprising iff a
War(s) didn't occur than iff it did.
That being said, its the duty of Political-Govt Leaders to protect Society from harm, which includes the avoidance of destructive War(S) AMAP.

Launched in 1996 as a Sunni sectarian group, the Lashkar today has deep links with al-Qaeda and Taliban and is considered to be the most violent terrorist organisation, operating in Pakistan with the help of its lethal suicide squad. As with most Sunni sectarian and militant groups, almost the entire LeJ leadership is made up of people who have fought in Afghanistan and most of its cadre strength has been drawn from the numerous Sunni Madrassas in Pakistan.

Napalm, nukes, and cluster munitions can put a stop to the "Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ)". Of course, you also need to put a stop to their controllers, the ISI and the Pak government at the same time. Pakistan must be accepted to be a total foreign-policy failure, and an end put to it. Nothing else will bring even a semblance of order to South Asia. Split it up between India and Afghanistan, after making sure the Sindhi and Punjabi tribes are severely decapitated and all the Indian muslims driven into the new Afghanistan.
Islam, by its very design, is extremely violent, insolent, and aggressive. It's time to inflict some serious, long-term hurt upon it, so it will slink back under the rock it crawled out from under. There is no other way for the rest of us to live in peace.
