Jihadist killings have no religious basis: Nigerian president
[Al Ahram] Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan
... 14th President of Nigeria. He was Governor of Bayelsa State from 9 December 2005 to 28 May 2007, and was sworn in as Vice President on 29 May 2007. Jonathan is a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). He is a lover of nifty hats, which makes him easily recognizable unless someone else in the room is wearing a neat chapeau...
said Saturday that killings by faceless myrmidons of Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
and other Islamists across the globe, including those who killed a British aid worker, have no religious basis.

"What is happening globally now has no religious basis," Jonathan told visiting Moslem leaders on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, the Moslem feast of sacrifice. "Only yesterday, a British aid worker was slaughtered by ISIS, and that is not Islamic."

British Prime Minister David Cameron
... has stated that he is certainly a big Thatcher fan, but I don't know whether that makes me a Thatcherite, which means he's not. Since he is not deeply ideological he lacks core principles and is easily led. He has been described as certainly not a Pitt, Elder or Younger, but he does wear a nice suit so maybe he's Beau Brummel ...
has confirmed the "brutal murder" of aid worker Alan Henning, 47, by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group on Friday.

"Boko Haram killing innocent children and women in marketplaces, in mosques, schools definitely has nothing to do with religion," Jonathan said.

The faceless myrmidons are believed to be in control of more than two dozen towns and villages in northeastern Nigeria.

The five-year-old insurgency has claimed thousands of lives.

Arabia
Qatar's friends-with-everyone approach rankles
[Washington Post] The U.S. military orchestrates the air war over Iraq and Syria from a hulking command center on the vast al-Udeid Air Base, a Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
i-owned encampment that is home to 8,000 American military personnel and dozens of Air Force jets. Giant video screens inside the windowless, two-story structure allow troops to track every plane and observe live footage from every drone involved in operations against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....

Twenty miles to the northeast, in the heart of this opulent and fast-growing capital city, the even more gargantuan Grand Mosque has served as a key outpost for al-Qaeda-linked rebels fighting the Syrian regime. From a pulpit under ringed chandeliers, several holy mans have exhorted the faithful to open their wallets in support of Syrian resistance groups. Some of the holy mans have boasted of directing money toward Jabhat al-Nusra
...the current nom de guerre of al-Qaeda in the Levant, which isn't to be confused with al-Qaeda in Iraq and the Levant...
, which the U.S. government has classified as a terrorist organization linked to al-Qaeda.

Although Qatari authorities have moved over the past year to crack down on private donations to Syrian rebels allied with al-Qaeda and the Islamic State, the government here shows no signs of diminishing its support for Islamist groups across the Arab world that others in the region have branded as outlaws and terrorists.

Qatar's strategy of backing Islamists -- from Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, in the Gazoo Strip, to the Moslem Brüderbund in Egypt, to hard-line Syrian opposition fighters -- while also offering itself as a key U.S. ally in the volatile Middle East is rooted in pragmatism: This gas-rich, finger-shaped peninsula that borders Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and juts into the Persian Gulf wants to protect itself by being friends with everybody.

"We don't do enemies," Qatar's foreign minister, Khalid bin Mohammed al-Attiyah, said in a rare interview. "We talk to everyone. We cannot change geography -- this is for sure -- so whoever is in the vicinity of our geography has to be our close friend."

Shiite Rebels Hostile To US And Israel Are New Masters Of Yemen
[IsraelTimes] Said to be backed by Iran, the Houthis are poised to become the Hezbollah of the world’s poorest and most unstable nation

The capital of Yemen, the Arab world’s poorest and perhaps most chronically unstable nation, has new masters. Anti-American Iranian catspaws man checkpoints and roam the streets in pickups mounted with anti-aircraft guns. The fighters control almost all state buildings, from the airport and the central bank to the Defense Ministry.

Only a few coppers and soldiers are left on the streets. Rebel fighters have plastered the city with fliers proclaiming their slogan — “Death to America™, death to Israel, a curse on the Jews and victory to Islam” — a variation of a popular Iranian slogan often chanted by Shiite turbans in Iraq and supporters of Leb’s Hezbollah.

Hit terror with iron hand: Saudi grand mufti
Mount Arafat: Muslim leaders must strike the enemies of Islam with “an iron hand”, Saudi Arabia’s grand mufti said in the sermon during the Haj pilgrimage on Friday, in an apparent condemnation of the ISIS group.
"Which enemies of Islam?"
"HIS enemies of Islam!"
Speaking to Muslims from around the world in the address, the Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Sheikh called on fellow Islamic leaders to "hit with an iron hand the enemies of Islam."

"Your religion is threatened. Your security is threatened," he said, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA). "These criminals carry out rapes, bloodshed and looting," he said, adding that "these vile crimes can be considered terrorism" and their perpetrators have nothing to do with Islam. "They are tyrants," he said, warning of "their deviant ideology."
You say the ISIS has nothing to do with Islam, but ISIS says they do, and a lot of young hard boyz agree with them. Seems like it's your job to fix this, not ours...
The grand mufti spoke from Nimrah Mosque at Mount Arafat in western Saudi Arabia. "Oh Muslim peoples, your countries have been entrusted to you, so safeguard your security and stability, your gains, your resources and public projects," he said.

"And know that you are targeted by your enemies who want to tear your ranks, turn your hearts against each other and spread chaos and confusion and beware of their conspiracies," he said from the spot where Prophet Muhammad made his final sermon 14 centuries ago.
How many are going to assume this means the usual Juices, Americans, Crusaders, Hindus, or whatever the local majority considers unacceptably heterodox varieties of Islam, and act accordingly?

China-Japan-Koreas
Is North Korea still digging tunnels to the South?
Comments from Burg citizens who have served/lived in Korea?
Seoul -- Gen. Hahn Sung-Chu never believed North Korea could dig a tunnel that reached Seoul -- until now. Standing inside a basement of an apartment block in the heart of the capital, the former two-star general in the South Korean military says, "This is a kind of invasion, North Korean soldiers working underneath us."

Hahn says residents had complained of underground vibrations, but the subway does not run beneath them. He says dowsers detected three tunnels, 13 to 16 feet (4 to 5 meters) wide at a depth of up to 39 feet (12 meters). His team drilled two bore holes to lower a camera, but before they could, they detected two underground explosions and their drill holes were blocked. Hahn is certain that North Korean soldiers were working beneath their feet, protecting the tunnel.

Four tunnels from the North have been found in all, although none since 1990. The South Korean Defense Ministry still officially looks for them as it believes there may be 20 in all, but the budget is small and tunnel hunters believe it is merely a token effort. North Korea has said the tunnels were not for invasion, but part of its mining industry.
There's a lot of gold under Seoul, you know...
While the Defense Ministry believes there may be up to several tunnels dug under the Demilitarized Zone, it is convinced that none would reach as far as Seoul. It believes that Pyongyang would not be able to dig more than 6 miles (10 kilometers) from the DMZ -- the heavily fortified border -- because of the Imjin River. Seoul's northwestern boundary is about 25 miles (40 kilometers) from the DMZ.

"To dig tunnels tens of kilometers, it must be angled properly," says Defense Ministry spokesman Kim Min-Seok. "There is a huge amount of groundwater in the Korean Peninsula, so water and soil have to be removed consistently. South Korea and the U.S. have always taken aerial photographs, and we found no evidence of this."

But a former intelligence official from North Korea says the notion is not as far-fetched as it might sound. The military defector, who is not using his name as he still has family in the North, said North Koreans "usually pulled out soil and stones during the night so as not to be detected by the U.S. or South Korea. They dig into the ground vertically from 100 to 150 meters (328 to 492 feet) and slope upwards to South Korea so the water drains back to the North."

The man says he had knowledge of the tunnel digging when he lived in the North. Saying that operations peaked in the 1980s, he believes Pyongyang would still protect the multiple tunnels it dug over many decades.

"I was told the tunnels are not directly connected to the streets of Seoul because of the risk of being detected. The tunnels are connected to the sewers linked to the relevant organizations."

The relevant organizations that would be targeted are the U.S. Embassy, the Blue House presidential compound and government buildings, he says. The former official says that in case of war, infantry troops would flood into the tunnels dressed in American or South Korean uniforms. The tunnels would then be blown up behind them so there would be no retreat.

N. Korea may become self-sufficient in food in 3-4 years
SEOUL -- North Korea may become self-sufficient in feeding its own people in three or four years, a representative who heads the U.N.'s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) office in the communist country said Saturday.
Quicker if they shoot all the communists...
I could drop twenty pounds and grow my hair back, too.
Speaking at a Voice of Russia (VOR) program, Belay Derza Gaga said the North is expected to produce some 6 million tons of grain this year and that output has been growing steadily. He pointed out that policymakers have been emphasizing the importance of agriculture in economic policies that has led to more investment in related fields.

Gaga, however, said that the country still suffers from shortfalls in electricity, fuel and farm equipment.
And in freedom, liberty, social mobility, law and order...
Come, come. It must be admitted they have plenty of laws and even more orders.
The FAO official said in the VOR program monitored in Seoul that Mongolia's plan to provide 10,000 livestock to the North is part of a move to help the North feed itself. The animals are expected to be shipped to a special region in the North that will be used as a new base for the country's livestock industry.
To feed the military.

A quiet suggestion: starve out the leaders. Starve out the apparatchiks. Blockade and freeze all their money. Not a scrap of food aid. The country will fall, China and South Korea can work out an accommodation, and we can come home.

Europe
Belgium Proves Vital Jihadist Recruiting Hub
[VOA News] This week, the trial of dozens of Sharia4Belgium members began in the Belgian city of Antwerp, ground zero of a very successful effort to recruit jihadists.

The krazed killer group is a big reason why Belgium has the largest per capita number of fighters of any Western European country in Syria, according to the International Center for the Study of Radicalisation.

"Everything is apparently better than Belgium," wrote Fouad Belkacem, the imprisoned leader of the disbanded Islamist group, in a statement posted to Facebook in 2013.

It was a sentiment apparently shared by an estimated 300 to 400 Belgian Moslems who have reportedly made their way to Syria to fight.

And Belgian fighters have been involved in some of the most high profile events unfolding in Syria.

At one point, murdered American journalist James Foley was held by a group of Sharia4Belgium forces of Evil in Syria, according to a Belgian returnee fighter Jejoen Bontinck. He claims to have been held with Foley. Bontinck said he was being held because he wanted to return to Belgium. He claims he went to Syria for humanitarian reasons, not to fight.

The Grand Turk
Biden apologizes to Turkey president in phone call
[Khaleej Times] US Vice President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
The former Senator-for-Life from Delaware, an example of the kind of top-notch Washington intellect to be found in the World's Greatest Deliberative Body...
apologized Saturday to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
, who was angry over comments in which Biden said Erdogan had admitted that Turkey had made mistakes by allowing imported muscle to cross into Syria.

Erdogan denied ever saying that and told news hounds in Istanbul before Biden's apology that he "will be history for me if he has indeed used such expressions."

Biden spoke with Erdogan by phone on Saturday, the White House said.

"The vice president apologized for any implication that Turkey or other allies and partners in the region had intentionally supplied or facilitated the growth of ISIL or other violent snuffies in Syria," the White House said, referring to an acronym for the ISIS group.

The spat comes as Turkey, a NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
ally, is expected to define the role it will play in the US-led coalition against the ISIS snuffies who have captured a swath of Iraq and Syria, in some cases right up to the Turkish border.

Responding to questions following his speech at the Harvard Kennedy School on Thursday, Biden described Erdogan as "an old friend." Biden added: "He (Erdogan) said: 'You were right. We let too many people through.' Now they're trying to seal their border."

Erdogan said: "I have never said to him that we had made a mistake, never. If he did say this at Harvard then he has to apologize to us."

"Foreign fighters have never entered Syria from our country. They may come to our country as tourists and cross into Syria, but no one can say that they cross in with their arms," Erdogan said.

He said Turkey had prevented 6,000 suspected snuffies from entering the country and deported another 1,000.

Turks vow to keep ISIS out of Kobani
Turkey will do what it can to prevent the predominantly Kurdish town of Kobani, near its border with Syria, falling to ISIS insurgents, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said late on Thursday, but stopped short of committing to military action.
Nonsense. Turkey has a modern military. It has NATO equipment and training. "What it can do"?? It can do a lot, and should. Turkish territory should be off-limits to all the Syrian factions from Assad to the ISIS.
Hours before Davutoglu's comments, parliament gave the government powers to order cross-border military incursions against ISIS, and to allow foreign coalition forces to launch similar operations from Turkish territory.

"We wouldn't want Kobani to fall. We'll do whatever we can to prevent this from happening," Davutoglu said in a discussion with journalists broadcast on the A Haber television station, in comments apparently meant to placate Turkey’s Kurdish critics. But later in the two-hour discussion programme, he appeared to pull back from any suggestion that this meant Turkey was planning a military incursion, saying such a move could drag Ankara into a wider conflict along its 900 km border.

"Some are saying 'Why aren't you protecting Kurds in Kobani?' If the Turkish armed forces enter Kobani and the Turkmens from Yayladag ask 'why aren't you saving us?', we would have to go there as well," he said, referring to another ethnic minority in Syria across from a Turkish border town.

"When the Arab citizens across from Reyhanli say 'why don't you save us as well', we’d have to go there too."
All excellent suggestions, by the way...
Defence Minister Ismet Yilmaz was also quoted as telling reporters that it would be wrong to expect imminent military action after the parliamentary motion passed.

ISIS fighters advanced to within a few kilometres of the centre of Kobani on three sides on Thursday, having taken control of hundreds of villages around the town in recent weeks.

More than 180,000 Syrian Kurds have now fled to Turkey to escape the insurgents’ assault, Davutoglu said. Their advance to within clear sight of Turkish military positions on the border has piled pressure on the NATO member to take a more robust stance against the Islamists.

But Ankara remains hesitant, fearing military intervention could deepen the insecurity on its border by strengthening Syrian President Bashar Al Assad and bolster Kurdish fighters linked to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which has waged a three-decade insurgency against the Turkish state. Jailed PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan said on Wednesday that peace talks between his group and the Turkish state will come to an end if ISIS militants are allowed to carry out a massacre in Kobani.
If you guys were smarter you'd protect the Syrian Kurds, earn the benefits that come from that, and thus show your own Kurds that you're serious about treating them fairly.
Davutoglu said it was wrong to link the two issues.

India-Pakistan
Pakistan PM says plot to derail democracy will fail
His plot or someone else's?
His plot is not a plot...
[Khaleej Times] Addressing a gathering at the site of development projects being undertaken in Murree on Friday, Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
expressed confidence his government would overcome all odds it faced at present and make Pakistain a welfare state.

He said the hill resort will have a university of international standards, a modern hospital and water supply from Kohala.

A large number of people gathered to see Sharif when he visited the under-construction building of General Post Office on The Mall. The building is being restored to its original British era design of over 100 years old.

Later, talking to his party leaders and workers of the local chapter he said that all promises made during the election campaign with the people of Murree would be fulfilled.

Meanwhile Pakistain People's Party (PPP) Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari has said that some people are trying to cash in on the current political crisis by holding large public meetings.

In an obvious reference to PTI chief Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree...
, who is attracting massive crowds at public rallies, Zardari said the people attend them to voice their resentment against the government and increase in electricity prices than for any love for (Imran) whose sit-in has flopped.

The former president who flew into Lahore for a week's stay in a bid to revive sagging spirits of his party leaders and workers in Punjab where it has almost been wiped out, was talking to newsmen after a meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami
...The Islamic Society, founded in 1941 in Lahore by Maulana Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi, aka The Great Apostosizer. The Jamaat opposed the independence of Bangladesh but has operated an independent branch there since 1975. It maintains close ties with international Mohammedan groups such as the Moslem Brotherhood. the Taliban, and al-Qaeda. The Jamaat's objectives are the establishment of a pure Islamic state, governed by Sharia law. It is distinguished by its xenophobia, and its opposition to Westernization, capitalism, socialism, secularism, and liberalist social mores...
Amir Sirajul Haq
...current head of the Pak Jamaat-e-Islami. Siraj was born in 1962 and entered politics shortly after that...
at the party headquarters in Mansoora.

The objective of the meeting, Zardari said, was to save the country and the nation and not just the (Sharif) government.

Dismissing criticism that he and Premier Sharif are projecting only dynastic politics, Zardari said his son Bilawal Baby Bhutto Zardari
...Pak dynastic politician, son of Benazir Bhutto and grandon of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. As far as is known, Bilawal has no particular talents other than being pretty and being able to memorize political slogans, but he had the good luck to be born into the right family and he hasn't been assassinated yet...
was taking extreme risk by entering active politics.

Banners seeking hides go up without administration's permission
[DAWN] RAWALPINDI: Appeals for hides have started chasing the devout Muslims of the city, even before they could decide what animal they can afford to sacrifice during the Eidul Azha days.

Posters and banners carrying the appeal from all sorts of organisations went up all over the city on Friday.

And Friday congregations were told at places by prayer leaders that the local mosque has the first right on the hides.

Commissioner Zahid Saeed told Dawn that the provincial government had directed them to stop banned outfits from collecting animal hides during Eidul Azha. “No party, group or organisation can collect animal hides unless it has obtained a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the district administration,” he said.

It was not clear if all those after the hides had obtained the NOC.

A senior official of the City District Government Rawalpindi said the local administration had received applications from four or six organisations for establishing hide collection camps but no decision had been taken on them yet.

Polio cases 'record' broken
[DAWN] The country has broken its 13-year-old record of polio
...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. Errant Afghan Taliban tweet shows spokesman's location as Pakistan
[DAWN] An apparently errant tweet by the Taliban's spokesman in Afghanistan gave his location as being in Pakistan.

On Friday, a tweet by Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claiming an attack included geolocation information that suggested he sent the message from Sindh, Pakistan.

Mujahid later sent a tweet Saturday describing the location leak as an “enemy plot”.
"I got millions of enemies! Dey're all against me!"
He also offered his Afghan telephone number to confirm his identity and wrote: “With full confidence, I can say that I am in my own country.”
"Honest. It's not call forwarding!"
Twitter says such geolocation data is based on latitude and longitude data or other information provided by users at the time of their message.

In an explanation of geolocation, Twitter itself warns: “Remember, once you post something online, it's out there for others to see”

Gullu Butt apologises for actions, seeks forgiveness
[DAWN] Gullu Butt, the infamous character seen vandalising property during the June 17 Model Town incident, has apologised to the nation and members of Allama Tahirul Qadri
...Pak politician, and would-be dictator, founder and head of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran and Pakistain Awami Tehrik. He usually resides in Canada, but returns to Pakistain periodically to foam at the mouth and lead demonstrations. ’s Pakistain Awami Tehrik (PAT).

In an exclusive interview with DawnNews on Saturday, Butt narrated his version of events on June 17, saying he is ashamed of his past and regrets his actions.

Butt was involved in smashing private vehicles parked outside the Minhajul Koran Secretariat in Model Town during an operation carried out by the Punjab government against alleged illegal barricades erected by the PAT.

“I am apologising to the entire nation. I am neither a criminal nor a criminal’s offspring. I am willing to fall in Allama Qadri’s feet to ask for his forgiveness,” he said.

“Whatever I have done is in front of the media ... I am ashamed of that, and ask the entire nation to forgive me.”
How about the stuff you did when nobody was looking, Stinky?
Butt was placed in durance vile
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
following the June 17 incident with charges of being involved in smashing private vehicles, but was released from jail last week.

After video clips and images of the baton-wielding, handlebar-moustached man smashing vehicles went viral on the internet, the word “gullu” became a phenomenon and is even likely to make its way to the Oxford Dictionary.

'Declining' morale hits police performance
[DAWN] The monthly provincial conference of regional coppers and district coppers held at the Central Police Office on Friday discussed general crime situations, security requirements for upcoming law and order events and professional and welfare moves for morale-dwindling and ill-equipped police force.

The conference presided over by Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Ahmad Sokhera and Additional IG Punjab Naseemuz Zaman in different time intervals also vowed to uphold ‘declining’ morale of the fighting force at all costs.

All Additional IGs, RPOs, the Lahore CCPO and DPOs participated in the conference and presented comparative crime statistics of their respective regions and districts.

Insiders told Dawn that the Rawalpindi division appeared to be a prime cause of concern for the provincial police commander who showed his dissatisfaction over increasing street crime and vehicle and cycle of violence theft besides slow recovery process.

They said the Multan police region topped in terms of decrease in six heinous crime heads -- murder, dacoity/robbery with murder, dacoity/robbery, vehicle theft, vehicle snatching and kidnapping for ransom.

Insiders quoted the IGP as having said the complainants were not entertained by police in terms of recovery of their snatched and stolen items.

Iraq
UN Security Council condemns 'heinous' killing of Henning
[ARABNEWS] The UN Security Council has strongly condemned the "heinous and cowardly" murder of British hostage Alan Henning, shown in a video with an IS fighter.

In a unanimous statement issued late Friday, the 15-member council said the "continued acts of barbarism perpetrated by ISIL do not intimidate them, but rather stiffen their resolve" to counter the krazed killers.

Henning, from Manchester in northwest England, became the fourth Western hostage murdered by IS faceless myrmidons since August and the second Briton, after aid worker David Haines.

British Prime Minister Cameron said the IS gunnies who have beheaded another Western hostage are deaf to reason and must be destroyed as Moslems worldwide were urged to pray for the victim on one of Islam's holiest days.

Moslem groups across Britannia united on Saturday to join Prime Minister David Cameron
... has stated that he is certainly a big Thatcher fan, but I don't know whether that makes me a Thatcherite, which means he's not. Since he is not deeply ideological he lacks core principles and is easily led. He has been described as certainly not a Pitt, Elder or Younger, but he does wear a nice suit so maybe he's Beau Brummel ...
in condemning the beheading of aid worker Alan Henning by IS krazed killers, with one leading holy man calling it a "despicable and offensive act."

Prayers for the 47-year-old taxi driver from Salford in northern England were said in mosques throughout the country at the start of the Moslem Eid Al-Adha festival.

Cameron called Henning a gentle, compassionate man who had simply tried to help others. Britannia would do all it could to destroy his killers, he said.

Speaking after meeting the heads of Britannia's armed forces and intelligence agencies, Cameron said in a broadcast message: "We will use all the assets we have ...to defeat this organization which is utterly ruthless, senseless and barbaric in the way it treats people."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Abbas to seek $4 billion
It's for the 'reconstruction' of Mahmoud's accounts in Switzerland and the Caymans...
The Palestinian president will ask donor countries for $4 billion for Gaza reconstruction after a summer war between Israel and Hamas damaged or destroyed tens of thousands of homes and more than 5,000 businesses, according to a report Mahmoud Abbas is to present to a pledging conference this month.

According to the 72-page reconstruction report, leaked to obtained by The Associated Press late Thursday, the Palestinian government will request $4 billion in emergency relief and reconstruction funds. It will also ask donors to pledge an additional $4.5 billion in support for the Palestinian government's military budget through 2017.

The Gaza pledging conference will be held in Cairo on Oct. 12.
I'm sure the Egyptian military will extend every courtesy...
Meanwhile, Israel's army chief said in comments published Friday that it would serve Israeli security interests to allow construction materials to enter blockaded Gaza.
Particularly the fly-ash...
Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz told the Haaretz daily that Hamas suffered military setbacks during the war, but that Israel can only secure long-term quiet on its border with Gaza if "an economic anchor backs up what was achieved in the fighting."
The concurrent assassination of all the Hamas leaders would help...
"We need to permit the opening of the strip to goods," Gantz was quoted as saying. "In the end, there are 1.8 million people there, with Israel and Egypt surrounding them. These people need to live."
Isn't it up to the 1.8 million people then to create conditions that would let them live?
The reconstruction would also require Israel to permit the import of large quantities of fly ash cement, pig iron steel and other construction materials. Under a recent deal between Israel, the Abbas government and the United Nations, Israel would allow such imports, provided Palestinian and UN inspectors make sure they are not diverted by Hamas for military use.
The Pal inspectors will allow the diversion out of patriotism, the UN inspectors from fear of being killed.
...or love of the cause of the noble native Palestinian.

Olde Tyme Religion
Bosnian Muslims slam ISIS
[Ynet] Leaders of Bosnia's Moslems slammed ISIS for their "terror and crime" saying they are very worried to see a flag with prophet Mohammed's seal being held by a soldier surrounded by dead bodies of civilians. This picture is in conflict with Islam, said Saturday Enes Ljevakovic, professor of Sharia Law who addressed believers on behalf of Bosnia's Islamic Community during the main ceremony of Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice.

He called on volunteers from western countries -- mainly second generation Moslem immigrants -- to go anywhere else but to other people's battlefields if they are not happy in countries that have accepted their parents, given them refuge and jobs. He urged Bosnia's Moslems to teach their children traditional values of moderate Islam and prevent outsiders from influencing them.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Islamic State Said To Eye Iran's Nuclear Secrets
[IsraelTimes] Document penned by one of the group's military chiefs proposes unlikely alliance with Russia against Tehran and Bashir al-Assad

A manifesto purportedly written by one of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
s senior military commanders details an unlikely plan that would see the brutal Sunni Islamist group gain Irans nuclear secrets with Russias help, Londons Sunday Times reported.

The document, which has been attributed to Abdullah Ahmed al-Meshedani, said to be a member of ISs war cabinet, was captured by Iraqi commandos during a raid in March, Sundays report (paywall) said.

The report said that the manifesto, which Western security officials have deemed authentic, proposed offering Moscow access to an IS-held gas field in Iraq in exchange for Iran and its nuclear program.

Russia, a close ally of the Islamic Theocratic Republic, built and helps operate the nuclear power plant at Bushehr in Iran. It is also already in possession of the largest proven gas reserves in the world.

The proposal also reportedly stated that in order to gain access to the gas field, located in Anbar province, the Kremlin would have to start backing the Sunni Gulf states against Shiite Iran and another Kremlin ally: the embattled Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
The Scourge of Hama...
The Islamic State document was also said to discuss a series of additional steps, including Nazi-style eugenics, and an intelligence gathering operation that monitors the organizations politicians as well as outside targets.

ISs ultimate goal was to strip Iran of all its power, the document said, killing Iranian teachers, diplomats and businessmen and even destroying the Iranian caviar industry and exterminating its famed carpet industry by flooding the market with Afghan rugs.

Al-Meshedani, the author of the manifesto, also called on Islamic State warriors to kill Shiite Iraqi officials Shiite Moslems are a majority in Iraq military leaders and members of Iranian-backed militias.

In all, the Islamic State document listed 70 proposals, many of them outlandish and seemingly unrealistic, in its plan to consolidate ISs power base in the Middle East, the report said.

Iran has warned that it will attack Islamic State jihadists inside Iraq if they advance near its border.

If the terrorist group (IS) comes near our borders, we will attack deep into Iraqi territory and we will not allow it to approach our border, Iranian ground forces commander General Ahmad Reza Pourdestana said on September 27.

The Sunni Lions of Islam of IS control a large territory north of Baghdad, including in Diyala province, which borders Iran.

The US, which has been leading an international Arclight airstrike campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, has held discussions with Iran about counteracting the Sunni myrmidons, although the two countries, long at odds, deny direct cooperation.

In a sign of the overlap of Iranian and US interests, Iran said in late September that one of the Islamic Theocratic Republics most senior generals and 70 Iranian soldiers helped Kurdish fighters defend Erbil, the capital of the autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq that has been a focus of the American military.

The city is home to a US consulate and offices of numerous Western companies, and the approach of Islamic State hard boyz to its outskirts prompted American Arclight airstrikes in August.

#1  I don't see why the Russians wouldn't. Russia would still have a customer; the IS instead of Iran. IS is drawing Islamic fanatics, including Chechens. Any returning jihadis will go after those decadent Euro tranzis and the Americans, not the patron Motherland. The Sunni states would look toward Russia and its hence-expanded influence.

Another 'Molotov-Ribbentrop'. What's not to like?

Government
New York moves to limit federal deportations of undocumented immigrants
[AMERICA.ALJAZEERA] A proposed New York City law would allow officials to decline requests by U.S. immigration authorities to detain immigrants for deportation proceedings unless a warrant is issued by a federal judge.

Even then, the city would only approve a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention request if the individual has been convicted of a violent or serious crime within the past five years.

The White House has said that its deportation policy focuses on immigrants with criminal records, or recent border crossers. Nonetheless, the B.O. regime has faced increasing criticism for his policies on deportations and stalled reforms.

"By further limiting ICE's role in the detention and deportation of immigrant New Yorkers, we set the national standard for the treatment of our immigrant population," Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, a sponsor of the bill, said in a statement. "Families will no longer be needlessly torn apart by ICE's dragnet enforcement efforts."

The legislation, due to be introduced next week, has the support of Mayor Bill de Blasio, and will be put before the city council. In Illinois, the sheriff of Cook County, which includes reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
, has also refused many ICE requests.

ICE said in a statement Thursday that its policy of detaining individuals locked away
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
on criminal charges is meant to "ensure that dangerous criminals are not released from prisons or jails and into our communities."

New York City's Department of Correction handed over 3,000 people to federal immigration agents between October 2012 and September 2013, according to the city council. It denied 1,163 requests during the same period.

Nope. Because then they can proclaim emergency and suspend voting altogether.

Not really - They just shift from the 'illegal alien' voting block to the 'deceased' voting block. No problem.
