Holder 'dismantling' Ferguson, PD two officers at a time.
[Fox] The gunman who shot two Missouri police officers early Thursday at a protest outside the Ferguson police headquarters remains at large, and a top law enforcement official said it was only "by God's grace" that the two cops -- one of whom was hit in the face -- are expected to survive.

"Lucky," St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said at a news conference hours after the early morning shootings. "By God's grace we didn't lose two officers last night."
And also by 'God's Grace' that line of officers didn't hit the prone and immediately begin returning fire.
The police officers, one a member of Belmar's force and the other from another county police department, were both released from the hospital late Thursday morning. The officer who was shot in the face will have to return at a later date for a further evaluation.
Outrage from Champ, Holder, and Sharpton building.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Microsoft launches probe as Turkey mulls Minecraft ban
[Hurriyet Daily News] Minecraft owner Microsoft is investigating the reports suggesting that the Turkish government is preparing to ban the game, the BBC reported March 11.

Turkish media had earlier reported that the Family and Social Policies Ministry recently took the first step to initiate the legal process to ban Minecraft in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
on the grounds that it encourages children to resort to violence.

According to Fatih Öke, a front man for the Turkish Embassy in Washington DC, a ban was "out of the question."

Speaking to Christian Science Monitor, Öke stressed that only a court can block the game and "the function of this ministry is to raise awareness."

The BBC also reported that a front man for Mojang, which makes Minecraft under the Microsoft umbrella after the latter bought the game for $2.5bn in September 2014, would not comment directly on the reports.

Minecraft is a videogame that allows the player to make designs with cubes in 2D or 3D. The game has several modes and in some of the modes, the player needs to survive in order to proceed.

"Although the game can be seen as encouraging creativity in children by letting them build houses, farmlands and bridges, mobs [hostile creatures] must be killed in order to protect these structures. In short, the game is based on violence," Turkish daily Haberturk quoted the ministry's report as saying on March 10.

On Turkish social media, the report triggered an outcry, as well as conspiracy theories.

Noting that the ministry had originally launched the probe for violence targeting women in the game last month, but ended up with focusing on children instead, a number of tweeps claimed that Turkey's conservative government has an ulterior motive of banning Minecraft for prominently displaying pigs and pork, which is banned in Islamic food consumption.

#4  I love how the original excuse was violence against women -- you have to mod the game for anyone or thing to be recognizably female. Even the animals are androgynous -- most reproduce with any two of the animals involved, and the "chickens" don't even need that, if you don't mind collecting and smashing lots of eggs.

One of the victims was identified as Osman, 42, the ring leader of the robbers' gang known as Osman Group; the identities of others could not be ascertained immediately.

Mohammed Nazrul Islam, upazila nirbahi officer of Fatikchhari, confirmed the incident but did not say anything further.

When contacted, ASP AFM Nijam Uddin of Chittagong district police told the Dhaka Tribune that he was on the way to the spot.

Payndong Union Gay Pareehad's Chairman AKM Sarwar Hossain said the Osman Group had committed robbery in the locality several times recently.

BNP's underground spokesman detained
[Dhaka Tribune] The BNP has claimed that law enforcers picked up party's Joint Secretary General Salahuddin Ahmed, facing a number of violence-related cases, from Uttara in Dhaka on Tuesday night.

When contacted yesterday, police and RAB officials refuted the allegation.

As party spokesperson, Salahuddin had been issuing blurbs to announce hartal

A blurb signed by BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan last night claimed that around 20-30 law enforcers including members from police, DB and RAB had jugged

Salahuddin from the house around 10pm on Tuesday.

"He has been out of reach since then. Until now, he has not been produced before the court," the statement said.

Mexican mayoral candidate murdered in Guerrero state
[Iran Press TV] The body of a woman who was running for mayor of the southern Mexican city of Ahuacuotzingo has been found in northern Guerrero.

Guerrero Attorney General Miguel Angel Godinez said on Wednesday that the body of 42-year-old Aide Nava from the leftist Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) was found on Tuesday night in Ahuacuotzingo, one of the 81 municipalities of the state.

Godinez did not give any further details about the murder of the mayoral candidate, who had been gone missing since Monday. Her son was also kidnapped last year and is still missing.

Nava's husband, Francisco Quiñonez Ramirez, a former mayor of the municipality, was also rubbed out in 2014.

Mexico's violence-plagued Guerrero is a key drug trafficking area, where the notorious Knights Templar narco mob, terrorizing the state through murder, kidnappings and extortion, has its base.

Germany refuses to negotiate wartime reparations with Greece
[Iran Press TV] Berlin has refused to negotiate with Athens over its mounting calls for the payment of billions of euros in compensation for Nazi atrocities carried out during the Second World War in Greece.

"The issue [of reparation] has been closed legally and politically and there won't be any negotiations about this. It has been settled in a comprehensive and conclusive way," said Chancellor Angela Merkel

's front man Steffen Seibert on Wednesday.

He added that Greece should focus on more pressing issues such as meeting the conditions for the release of financial aid it requires.

"We should concentrate on current issues and, hopefully what will be a good future," he said, referring to the financial crisis in Greece and its proposals for a renegotiation of the bailout package with its international creditors.

Late on Tuesday, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras (pictured below) said a bilateral wartime reparation agreement reached in 1960 did not cover the country's outstanding demands, including payments for ruined infrastructure, war crimes and the return of a forced loan all through the Nazi terror regime in Greece.

Turkey to decommission RF-4E fighter jets after crashes
[Hurriyet Daily News] Turkish Combat Air Force Commander Gen. Abidin Ünal announced on March 11 that the fleet of RF-4E fighter jets, which have been involved in three accidents in less than two weeks, killing six pilots, will be decommissioned as of March 12.

Speaking at the Combatant Air Force and Air Missile Defense Command, Ünal announce that the flights of the RF-4E jets would be terminated from March 12, the "war reconnaissance codes" tests of F-16 fighter jets were finalized on March 10.

Two Turkish RF-4E jets crashed during a training exercise in the eastern province of Malatya on Feb. 24, killing four soldiers. At the same time, the jet that Syrian air defenses downed on June 22, 2012, killing two Turkish soldiers, was also an RF-4.

Another F-4 fighter jet crash in the Central Anatolian province of Konya on March 5 killed two Turkish pilots, leading to question marks over the continued use of the jets. This F-4 jet was a modernized version of the RF-4.

The Turkish Air Forces fleet has eight of the RF-4E fighter jets in its inventory, which will be decommissioned as of March 12.

The last flights on these jets will be conducted by Turkish Air Force Commander Gen. Akin Özturk and Ünal.

Meanwhile,
...back at the game, the Babe headed for second base. He almost made it. Then Sheila slapped him....
the military plans to keep the controversial F-4 fighter jets, which are the modernized version of RF-4s, in use until 2020.

On March 10, Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz said the latest jet crash was likely caused by pilot error, even though the report on the accident was not yet complete. Yilmaz had also stated that the F-4's would remain in use until 2020.

Work begins in massive underground city
[Hurriyet Daily News] A massive underground city, which was discovered last year in the central Anatolian province of Nevsehir and was the year's biggest archaeological discovery, is being cleaned with a geo-radar machine.
Might as well enjoy it while the government is still civilized enough not to destroy it on geneal principles for being pre-Muslim...
Work has begun around the Nevsehir Fortress, carried out by the Nevsehir Municipality in collaboration with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's Housing Development Administration (TOKI), the Governor's Office and the Culture and Tourism Ministry.

The geo-radar machine is able to determine all gaps and structures up to 10 meters below the surface, accurately mapping out the underground city.

The data collected by the machine, which is operated by a technical team of three people, is then delivered to the excavation team. Thanks to data from this machine, the excavation process is able to be carried out in a way which limits the amount of damage to the structures of the city.

Nevsehir Mayor Hasan Ünver said the cleaning process had started a few days ago and has continued non-stop. He said the world's largest underground city was 113 meters in height and 460,000 square-meters in area and was very important for the future of tourism in Cappadocia, which is known world-wide for its Fairy Chimneys rock formation.

"The existence of this underground city, which consists of 11 neighborhoods around the Nevsehir Fortress, makes us very excited. We are using the latest technology in its cleaning. When the work is done, we plan to build places like boutique hotels, art galleries, handicraft centers, walking routes, a museum and meeting rooms in the underground city," the mayor said.

Urban transformation project reveals the city

HDN The underground city was discovered by a TOKI urban transformation project. Some 1,500 buildings located in and around the Nevsehir fortress were recently demolished and the city was discovered when the earthmoving to construct new buildings started.

The city covers 45 hectares of the total 75 hectare plot within the urban transformation project, which began in 2012. The first galleries were spotted in 2013 and the Cultural and Natural Heritage Preservation Board officially registered the area. So far forty-four historical objects have been taken under preservation.

The city is thought to date back 5,000 years and is located around the Nevsehir Fortress. Escape galleries and hidden churches were discovered inside the underground city.

The tunnels in the city are believed to have been used to carry agricultural products. It is also estimated that one of the tunnels passes under Nevsehir and reaches a faraway water source.

According to Ünver, other underground cities in Nevsehir's various districts do not even amount to the "kitchen" of this new underground city.

Secret Service agents investigated after car hits White House barricade
[Washington Post] The Obama administration is investigating allegations that two senior Secret Service agents, including a top member of the president's protective detail, drove a government car into White House security barricades after drinking at a late-night party last week, an agency official said Wednesday.

Officers on duty who witnessed the March 4 incident wanted to arrest the agents and conduct sobriety tests, according to a current and a former government official familiar with the incident. But the officers were ordered by a supervisor on duty that night to let the agents go home, said these people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive internal matter.

Pakistan fines Qatari royal for hunting without permit
[Iran Press TV] Environment authorities in Pakistain have fined a Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
i prince for hunting rare birds using falcons without permit in the northwest of the country.

Local environment officials said on Wednesday that Sheikh Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Hamad had been caught with three falcons in the Dera Ismail Khan
... the Pearl of Pashtunistan ...
district of Pakistain's northwestern province of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
... formerly NWFP, still Terrorism Central...
Ishtiaq Urmar, a wildlife advisor, said the prince did not have permits for hunting with falcons. Sources also say the Qatari royal had left Pakistain after paying a USD 800 fine.

Arab sheikhs regularly travel to Pakistain to hunt the houbara bustards using falcons.

The Pak government began issuing permits to houbara hunters for royals from the Persian Gulf countries in the 1970s. The move was initially seen a way to forge diplomatic ties with them after rival India imposed a ban on hunting the birds.

Last year, a Saudi prince illegally hunted more than 2,000 houbara bustards, which are protected under Pak law. The Saudi prince went on a hunting spree for rare birds in the southwestern province of Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
Thousands of houbara bustards enter Pakistain in winter to flee icy temperatures of the Central Asian regions.

The issue of Saudi and Qatari royals coming to Pakistain to hunt with falcons is becoming increasingly controversial. The hunt has sparked controversy in recent years because of the dwindling numbers of houbara bustards.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has also classified the birds as "vulnerable."

The issue has sparked outrage on social media and among young activists. They have demanded the expulsion of the Arab hunting parties from various regions of Pakistain.

The activists have blamed the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
for colluding with some royals from the Arab monarchies over the issue. Premier Sharif spent nearly seven years in political exile in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and has close personal ties with royal families of the Persian Gulf countries.

"The shooter was not with the protesters. The shooter was atop the grassy knoll hill," activist DeRay McKesson said on Twitter.
Time to go "Mad Max." Let the Officers choose, without judgement, which details they want to be a part of. Eventually, when enough blood has been let, the "activists" will be crying for assistance.

#1  Officers reported seeing 4 muzzle flashes from about 125 yards away. Also reported recovering shell casings indicative of a handgun. I can't see very many people being able to hit their targets with handguns at over 100 yards - some part of the reported data seems incorrect.

Sheriff Outraged After Judges Deny His Request To Hang American Flag Display In Courthouse
One judge told WTKR said that he and the other judges don't want memorials of any kind put on display in the lobby. If one is allowed others will have to be allowed as well, the judge said.

Watson is furious with the denial, especially since it is his deputies whose job it is to physically protect the courthouse as well as the jurists.
Well, the judge has a point. In today's all-inclusive, everybody's a winner world, the courthouse would look like an homage to Fred Sanford within a week.

#1  we don't protect foreign soil. I'd make it known that due to the lack of flag designating it as American soil, they refuse to protect the judges. Two can play stupid games. After all, the deputies are wearing a shoulder flag patch, no? Wouldn't want any terrorists or disgruntled criminals to feel oppressed

#2  This makes me nuts. The presumption is that if you display this country's flag, you must accommodate others. This is America, not the bullshit UN or Baluchistan or Mexico. Our national emblem is not oppressive, or intimidating, or even inappropriate in a public space. Deal with it or leave! Frankly, I prefer the latter since I have had about all the diversity I can stand.

#3  The presumption is that if you display this country's flag, you must accommodate others. It is PC run amok. "PC" is most often associated with the Stalin era. It should be ignored wherever possible.
