Rancher, 73, is charged with murder on his Arizona land after shooting dead Mexican, 48, who had history of illegal crossings into US and multiple deportations: Judge refuses to reduce $1M bail despite plea his wife is alone
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Now why would he shoot a dead Mexican?
  • George Alan Kelly, 73, was arrested for fatally shooting Gabriel Cuen-Butimea, 48, on his Arizona ranch on January 30

  • Authorities are still investigating the fatal shooting, saying it does not appear Kelly and the victim knew each other

  • Cuen-Butimea has had a history of illegally crossing the US-Mexico border and was deported back to the country several times

#2  Santa Cruz county is the stompin grounds of Democrat and Marxist contressman Raul Grijalva. It is the home of corrupt police. To get a fair trial in Nogales the shooter better change his name. Note the name of the judge was not used. Five will get you ten that he or she is Mexican, or on the payroll of the local Raza.

#7  The million dollar bond was a huge signature of the intent by the local criminal justice political allies of the Demokrat invasion strategy to intimidate other locals from such actions. This guy and his family will be destroyed financially by delay, obfuscation by the DA and lawfare, despite almost certainly being within his rights by an honest interpretation of the existing statutes in Arizona. When it finally gets to trial, almost certainly a hung jury will be the best to be expected, given the demographics of the area, and the liability and pending retrial will likely bankrupt and displace Kelly over time.
The message is, do NOT interfere with the invasion or else!

Mexican Cartel-Style Violence Spreading in California over Marijuana Grow Fields
[Breitbart] Contrary to political rhetoric, Mexican cartel-style killings and gun battles appear to have already reached the U.S. and are spreading — particularly in California. The region experienced an explosive growth of cartel marijuana grow operations that are taking advantage of legalization and lax laws.

This week, federal authorities clashed with one of two gunmen who are accused of killing a family of six — including a 16-year-old female and her baby. The murders took place last month in Tulare County, California, in what some authorities have dubbed a cartel killing.

On early Friday morning, federal agents arrested Noah David Beard, 25, and Angel “Nanu” Uriarte, 35, the Los Angeles Times reported. The article identified both men as Sureno Gang members. Uriarte clashed with federal agents in a gun battle. He sustained multipole injuries and had to undergo surgery. He is expected to survive. Authorities arrested Beard without a shootout.

The two men are facing six murder charges and several enhancements filed by the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office over the January 16 mass killing. Authorities also carried out several raids at homes and prison cells targeting the Nuestra Familia gang. Both the Nuestra Familia and the Surenos have a history of working with Mexican drug cartels.

According to the Los Angeles Times, authorities found the 16-year-old mother in a ditch cradling her baby in her arms. Both victims were shot in the head. Initially, Tulare County Sheriff Mike Boudreaux called the murder the work of a cartel, however, he later tried to walk back the claim, the Times reported.

Tulare County and other counties in Northern California have seen a dramatic rise in cartel presence due to the legal marijuana trade and lax laws around it. Additionally, various cartel figures who have become famous in Mexico are actually U.S. citizens. Among these is Jose Maria “Z-43” Guizar Valencia a top leader with the Los Zetas cartel who was born in Tulare California and is currently awaiting sentencing on various federal drug trafficking charges in Texas.

According to a report from USA Today, since California legalized marijuana for recreational use, Mexican cartels have moved their grow operations to the U.S. where they can hide among legal farms. The publication reported that in 2021, there were 10,000 illegal grow operations in Mendocino County alone. The issue has already led to various high-profile cases similar to the one in Tulare County last month.

One of the main draws for cartels is that operating an illegal grow is only a misdemeanor offense in California and that business is cash only. Additionally, the region does not have enough law enforcement officers to patrol those grow sites and enforce laws against illegal growing operations, USA Today reported.

#5  The key issues underlying the cancer include the overwhelming percentage of illegal grows are on public land "About 46% of California's land area — or about 48 million acres — is owned by federal agencies, such as the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, according to a (SF) Chronicle analysis of local, state and federal public land ownership data."

The former CAMP Program (Campaign Against Marijuana Planting) was long ago ended, and the enforcement task forces disbursed. So enforcement devolves to USFS and BLM Special Agents, and given the misdemeanor status, not even a priority.

The cash basis for the marijuana industry has created a massive incentive for the cartels to compete with "legal" grows, and illegal grow sites have massive environment pollution issues, as well as public safety and public access concerns. The Sequoia National Forest and the El Dorado National Forest are particularly impacted as Mexican cartels move northward into the central Sierra region.

#6  Why? Why? Why were the mother and baby summary executed?
- because mexicans?
- because cartels?
- because illegals?
- because legal marijuana industry?

No. Nothing to do with mj. The mom did something she shouldnt or associated with someone that made a poor choice. Cartel violence, like mafia violence, doesnt happen in a vacuum. Am not condoning violence. But if you get mixed up with the cartels (or mafia), you know the rules. And you can die by the rules. Some of the safest Mexican Cities are the ones run by cartels where everyone honors the rules.

"massive environment pollution issues"

What would an illegal grow operation have that a legal grow operation wouldn't, or that a farm wouldnt, or that a ranch wouldnt? I know so many hippies that go out to MtShasta to trim that if there was environmental pollutants... They are hippies, do i need to xplain.

#7  Many trespass cultivation sites are large repositories of trash, including plastic hoses, fuels, pesticides, fertilizers, and food and human waste. Many growers import large quantities of compost which are dumped after a year or two, causing destructive levels of nutrients to pollute rivers and streams.

Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief February 7, 2023
LAST 24 HOURS
  • LARGE SCALE POLICE SEARCHES REPORTED IN KABUL – Presumably, in an anti-ISIS operation, police and security forces were as active over the past twenty-four hours as they were when the attack on Loya Jirga took place in 2022. Searches were verified in PD 2 (Andarabi, Baharistan, Deh Afghana, Karte Ariana, Karte Parwan, Murad Khane, Shash Darak), PD 3 (Deh Bori, Deh Mazang, Deh Naw, Jamal Mina, Karte Char, Karte Mamorin, Karte Sakhi, Silo), PD4 (Karte Parwan, Kolola Pushta, Shahrara, Taimani), PD 10 (Bibi Mahro, Char Qala, Qala-e Fathullah, Qala-e Musa, Sherpur, Wazir Akbar Khan), PD 11 (Hazara-e Baghal, Khair Khana, Qala-e Najara). Taliban officials did not disclose any information regarding any results of the search efforts and we have yet to hear of any arrests other than a few minor criminals. As we understand the threat relayed to some in the diplomatic community five days ago: an ISIS-K vehicle with a large ammonium nitrate bomb is thought to be in the city. The bomb consists of at least two large fuel drums (dark in color) and may have silver metallic tape wrapped around them. It is believed that one of the drums was sealed improperly and there is reportedly a strong chemical smell near the vehicle. The type of vehicle transporting the bomb has not been identified.

  • SWEDISH NGO AID WORKERS REPORTEDLY KIDNAPPED – 2 Afghan employees of a Swedish-supported committee involved in humanitarian aid projects have been reported missing in the Spin Ghar District of Nangarhar. Some reports in pro-Resistance websites claim the men were taken by Taliban officials to an undisclosed location. The Taliban say the incident did not occur. Rumors persist that the men were targeted due to the recent burning of a Quran in Sweden by a far-right Danish politician. It is important to note that protests in Afghanistan against the act were widespread and involved many people not tied to the Taliban. If these 2 Afghans were taken, it could have been carried out by a plethora of actors. Details are murky and more information is being sought.

  • RUMORS OF ADDITIONAL FOREIGN DIPLOMATIC REDUCTIONS IN KABUL – Other embassies in Kabul appear to have scaled back operations and may have sent some of their personnel out of the country in response to the shuttering of the Saudi Arabian embassy over a purported terror threat. The embassies that have reputedly scaled back operations are Turkey, the UAE, and Qatar. These reports have yet to be confirmed.

  • FRENCH-AFGHAN JOURNALIST ARRESTED BY TALIBAN ON CHARGES OF SPYING AT THE CENTER OF NEW INTERNATIONAL CALL TO ACTION – Mortaza Behboudi had been in Kabul since 5 January while on assignment for a French news outlet. He was arrested when he attempted to apply for press accreditation and has remained in prison since 7 January. The international organization, Reporters Without Borders, decided to give the Taliban 30 days to release him and has since called on the Taliban to release him and has blasted his detention as unlawful and unwarranted. Taliban officials refused to comment on his case.

NEXT 24 HOURS
TALIBAN TO CONTINUE SECURITY SEARCHES – The Taliban appear to be taking the threat of an ISIS-K attack seriously. The searches over the past twenty-four hours were methodical and highly organized. Operations are expected to continue for the foreseeable future as the regime will want to calm fears among the few States who maintain a diplomatic footprint in the country.

Tunisia launches probe into decade-old political killings
[An Nahar] Tunisia's justice ministry said Monday it had set up a special commission to examine files relating to the investigation and prosecution over the 2013 killings of two prominent left-wing opponents.

The murders of Chokri Belaid and Mohammed Brahmi, coming just two years after the Arab Spring uprisings that began in the North African country, sparked a major political crisis.

Ten years later, the murder of the two, who opposed the policies of the then dominant Islamist-inspired party Ennahdha, remains shrouded in mystery.

An official statement said that Justice Minister Leila Jaffal had decided "in support of the justice process and to reveal the truth, on the formation of a special commission to follow up on the case of the liquidation of the two deaders".

She also authorized "a thorough judicial and administrative inspection" into files relating to the killings.

Belaid, a 48-year-old lawyer, was shot full of holes outside his Tunis home exactly 10 years ago on February 6, 2013.

jihadist group said it killed him, and also claimed the murder six months later in July of Brahmi.

Brahmi's killing forced Ennahdha to cede power to a government of technocrats, just after the adoption of a new constitution.

The following February, the authorities said that Belaid's alleged killer, Kamel Gadhgadhi, had himself been killed.

Relatives and representatives of Belaid and Brahmi have regularly accused political parties and some judges and lawyers of obstructing those seeking the truth behind the killings.

Relatives of Belaid accuse Ennahdha of being at least "indulgent" towards the often violent mostly peaceful discourse that erupted in the country after the murders.

Ennahdha denies this, saying that after the killings it designated the long-tolerated jihadist Ansar al-Sharia

There are groups of the same name in Libyaand Yemen, with the Libyan versions currently most active. Tunisia's Shabaab al-Tawhid started out an Ansar al-Sharia and changed its name in early 2014. In June last year, President Kais Saied dismissed dozens of magistrates, some of whom he believed to have put obstructed the investigations into the two killings.

Texas deputies stop driver hauling 13 illegal immigrants wearing camouflage clothing
[FoxNews] Deputies in Zavala County, Texas, apprehended 22 illegal immigrants on Sunday.

Deputies in Zavala County, Texas, caught nearly two dozen illegal immigrants during four separate traffic stops early Sunday, including 13 migrants smuggled in a pickup truck while cloaked in camouflage clothing, authorities said.

In total, the sheriff’s office said it apprehended 22 illegal immigrants, while 10 others fled after bailing from the vehicles.

In one case, the sheriff's office said a deputy stopped a black Chevy pickup for a traffic violation on U.S. 57 east of La Pryor. As the deputy went to speak with the driver, he spotted multiple individuals wearing camouflage clothing lying in the bed of the truck.

The deputy then found more individuals inside the vehicle with the driver, who claimed they were all her cousins, according to officials.

The driver, Samantha Renee Dela Fuente of San Antonio, was charged with smuggling, FOX29 San Antonio reported. Officials said the 13 undocumented individuals were turned over to Uvalde Border Patrol.

In a second incident, a deputy pulled over a Chrysler van for a traffic violation. When the deputy exited his cruiser to approach the vehicle, it sped away and prompted a short pursuit.

The driver eventually bailed, and three illegal immigrants were apprehended. Deputies said five other undocumented individuals had fled the scene.

Deputies said two other illegal immigrants were found hidden in the back of an SUV during a traffic stop on U.S. 57 east of Batesville. The driver had bailed and fled.

A fourth traffic stop on a blue Chevy Malibu resulted in another short chase until the driver and other individuals bailed from the vehicle into the brush at the West Wind Ranch, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies apprehended three individuals while about five other suspected illegal immigrants escaped.

All the apprehended illegal immigrants were turned over to Border Patrol, the sheriff's office said.

At least 5 gunmen killed as IDF targets West Bank terror attack cell, officials say
[IsraelTimes] Military says attackers planned ’mass murder spree’ at eatery near Jericho; after failing to apprehend pair over weekend, unit enters Aqabat Jabr, kills prime suspects and others

Several Paleostinian button men were killed in a military raid near the West Bank city of Jericho early Monday, as part of an operation to apprehend suspects involved in a shooting attack on a nearby restaurant last month, the Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet security agency said.

On January 28, two Paleostinian button men approached the Me Casa restaurant near the Almog Junction, close to Jericho, which was serving some 30 customers at the time.

One of the button men opened fire, but after a single shot his gun jammed, and the pair fled toward Jericho in a car, the military said.

The IDF and Shin Bet in a joint statement said the pair planned a "mass murder spree" at the restaurant.

There were no injuries in the attack.

Since the attack, the IDF’s Military Intelligence and Shin Bet have focused efforts on locating the pair, which have been thought to be part of a wider Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,-affiliated gang in the Aqabat Jabr refugee camp, adjacent to Jericho.

The IDF also established a temporary checkpoint and for several days troops were questioning Paleostinians entering and exiting Jericho.

The IDF said the button men were hiding in an apartment using the help of their neighbors and relatives, while planning to commit further attacks. On Saturday morning, IDF special forces entered the camp but failed to apprehend the pair.

Early Monday, troops of the mixed-gender Lions of the Valley light infantry battalion entered Aqabat Jabr in another attempt to locate the two button men. The soldiers identified several armed Paleostinians, and a firefight broke out, the IDF said.

The IDF said several button men, including the two behind the restaurant attack, were killed, and several more were maimed.

The Paleostinian Authority Health Ministry later reported that five were killed, and named them as Rafat Wael Awadat, 21, Malik Awni Lafi, 22, Adham Majdi Awadat, 22, Ibrahim Wael Awadat, 27, and Thaer Awadat, 28. The ministry said several others were maimed.

Some Hebrew-language media reports said seven Paleostinian button men were killed in the raid.

The bodies of those killed were taken by the military. Additionally, seven wanted Paleostinians were detained and several firearms were seized from the button men by the troops, the IDF said.

An IDF Skylark drone crashed in the refugee camp during the raid, the IDF said, adding that there was "no concern of leaked information" from the device. The incident would be further investigated.

Separately in other areas of the West Bank, troops detained another 12 Paleostinian suspects in overnight raids, the IDF said.

No soldiers were hurt in the operations, according to the military.

Marine, 7 militants killed in weekend clashes in southern Philippines
[BenarNews] Seven button men with suspected links to Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
faceless myrmidons were slain over the weekend by police hunting for a group leader wanted in connection with the 2009 killing of a police superintendent in the southern Philippines, officials said.

The shootout in the Sulu Islands took place on Sunday, a day after a pro-Islamic State

bully boy group ambushed a Marine patrol, leaving one of the troops dead and wounding three others in Lanao del Sur, another province in the volatile south.

In Sulu province, police launched a pre-dawn operation to arrest Juko Dahim, whose group had worked with Abu Sayyaf Group snuffies in several operations, officials said. He was wanted for his alleged role in the ambush killing of Senior Superintendent Jularisim Kasim, the provincial police chief, 14 years ago.

"However,
a clean conscience makes a soft pillow...
the heavily gang of Alganer Dahim and Juko Dahim sensed the arrival of the operating units, triggering the firefight," said Richard Verceles, operations chief of the Area Police Command for Western Mindanao.

Members of the Sulu field unit of the police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, police commandos and other units were involved in Sunday’s operation.

Verceles said seven bully boys, including Juko Dahim, were killed in the 40-minute firefight. Two suspects were arrested and several high-powered assault rifles, ammunition and other war materials were recovered. A junior officer and two civilians were maimed as well.

Alganer Dahim escaped and is the subject of a manhunt, police said.

According to police, Juko Dahim and his group were members and supporters of dead Abu Sayyaf kidnap-for-ransom sub-leader Majan Sahidjuan (alias Apo Mike), whose group was blamed for cross-border kidnappings in Sabah, a state in nearby Malaysian Borneo.

Verceles said Juko was involved in kidnapping activities and armed encounters with government forces, killing civilians and illegal drug trade.

SATURDAY ATTACK
A day earlier, suspected Maute-Daulah Islamiyah faceless myrmidons launched a bushwhack of the Marine patrol in Marogong, a town in Lanao del Sur. The Maute group is one of many factions of Daulah Islamiyah, the local name for the Islamic State bad boy group.

"The Marines were not in uniform and were just bringing their short firearms because they were conducting community relations in the village," Lt. Col. Sergio Reyes Ronquillo, commander of the 2nd Marine Battalion Landing Team, told news hounds.

Ronquillo said Marine Sgt. Tonti Melbert Pamaran, who was leading the patrol, was killed instantly. Despite their injuries, the three maimed Marines fought the faceless myrmidons until reinforcements from a nearby camp arrived.

Previously, Philippine Army Chief Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner had said that the Daulah Islamiyah faceless myrmidons were losing strength after government troops attacked their camp in Maguing, Lanao del Sur, last March.

He said the faceless myrmidons numbered about 25 and were led by Faharudin Hadji Satar (also known as Abu Bakar or Abu Zacaria).
