-Land of the Free
U.S. Freezes Exports of Civilian Firearms
[Hot Air] This bit of news seems to have popped up suddenly and with little explanation. The federal government quietly issued a policy change yesterday halting the export of most civilian firearms, ammunition, and related accessories to much of the world.
Musk satellite communications system licenses are still under review.
They also suspended the issuance of new firearms export licenses. There are some exceptions to the ban, but several of the world’s biggest importers of American firearms will be affected. The order was issued by the Commerce Department (?) and the reason given was rather vague, citing national security concerns and the need to ensure firearms aren’t "diverted" to hostile actors. (The Messenger)
"Hostile actors" also defined as MAGA people and Lutherans.
The U.S. has suspended issuing export licenses for most civilian firearms and ammunition for 90 days for all non-government parties, citing national security and foreign policy concerns.

The U.S. Commerce Department on Friday said it would stop issuing new export licenses for the commercial sale of firearms and pause the acceptance of requests for export assistance to most non-government users.
Eugene H. Hasenfus was not available for comment.
The pause applies to most civilian firearms, including semi-automatic and non-automatic firearms, shotguns and ammunition. Johanna Reeves, a lawyer who specializes in export controls and firearms, told Reuters the halt covers most of the guns and ammunition available in a typical U.S. gun store.
Deadly 20 round magazines to be added at a future date.
The review being undertaken by the Commerce Department is supposedly investigating whether American civilian firearms are winding up on the black market in places such as Brazil and Guatemala (among many others). They claim to be concerned about guns winding up in the hands of people that "promote regional instability, violate human rights, or fuel criminal activities."
Texas, Alabama, and Georgia to be included soon.
Exceptions are being made for Canada and the UK, as well as Israel and Ukraine, among other allies. Why Ukraine would make the list when the black market for weapons there is already a major concern is anybody’s guess, but that’s clearly how Washington rolls these days. The export ban will apply to rifles, shotguns, and handguns, including those that aren’t even semiautomatic. The export of ammunition for all of those firearms is similarly being halted.

#1  But leaving tens of thousands of weapons and millions of rounds of ammunition in AFG is quite alright.

#2  So basically, it only halts exports of firearms/ammo to Freedom fighting nations and their citizens seeking self defense.

Now its likely US Firearm makers will setup factories in more free enterprise nations. So how long before we start importing instead of exporting our 2nd amendment?

Then there are those wondering what kinda pocket deals and/or campaign donations the WH / DC Swamp regime worked out with European Firearms & ammo makers.

MINUSMA pull out from northern Mali enters new phase amid intensifying fighting
[AFRICANEWS] The UN peacekeeping mission due to leave Mali by december 31, is conducting a sensitive pull out.

The Minusma completed its "accelerated withdrawal" from Tessalit on October 22nd, then from Aguelhoc the next day.

Analyst Ali Tounkara, explains that armed actors fight for control of evacuated Minusma camps.

"The speed with which the UN mission's compound in Aguelhoc was ransacked by gunnies shows just how strategic this locality remains for the signatory movements of the peace and reconciliation agreement, as well as for violent mostly peaceful radical groups," the Executive Director of Center for Security and Strategic Studies in the Sahel said.

Some of the signatories of the 2015 Algiers accords have taken arms again against Mali's central government, ramping up attacks against the army just like al-Qaeda affiliated groups.

Minusma seeks to avoid being caught in the crossfire but it has also suffered attacks. According to the mission, some of its convoys were attacked with bombs, resulting in injuries. Terrorist group GSIM grabbed credit.

A truck driver was seriously maimed and two others slightly injured on Thursday (Oct. 26) when button men opened fire on a logistics convoy from Ansongo, another camp to be evacuated, the mission reported.

"As far as the State of Mali is concerned, there is no ambiguity today between the movements that signed the agreement (Tuareg rebels) and the armed terrorist groups, which are evolving together. As a result, the various communiqués issued by the State of Mali make no attempt to distinguish between the armed movements (signatories to the peace agreement) and the terrorist groups," Dr. Tounkara explained.

Mali's government has accused the Minusma of "leaving free hand" to bully boyz as the mission expediates its withdrawal.

The Minusma has had to cope with what it called restrictions imposed by the authorities on its ability to manoeuvre.

Minusma said it had been forced to destroy or decommission equipment such as vehicles, ammunition and generators, in accordance with UN rules, because it was unable to take them with it. "Such losses could have been avoided" if 200 trucks had not been blocked in Gao since 24 September by restrictions on movement imposed by the authorities, she said.

Herdsmen attack travellers on Benue-Nasarawa road, kill three
[DAILYPOST.NG] No fewer than three persons have been killed and a few others injured by some armed herders along the Benue-Nasarawa road on Friday.

The gun-wielding herdsmen launched an ambush on the busy Makurdi-Lafia road near Ortese in the Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, resulting in the deaths of three travellers and inflicting severe injuries on several others.

This incident came about a week after armed herders also ambushed and killed three Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, who went fishing in the Gwer West LGA area of the Benue State.

According to information gathered from a local source, the attackers set up an ambush on the busy Makurdi-Lafia road on Thursday evening and Friday morning, targeting innocent travellers near the Hirnyam, Pevkyaa, and Ortaver villages. The marauders left multiple individuals with grievous injuries.

Mr Christopher Waku, the Security Secretary of Guma Local Government Area, confirmed the development, stating that the attackers had laid ambush for two consecutive days near Ortese, along the Daudu/Ortese road on the Makurdi-Lafia Highway. During these attacks, they shot and killed three individuals, all of whom were local residents.

"It was not a roadblock; the armed herdsmen stood on the Daudu — Ortese road. They killed two persons on Thursday, at about 5 pm, and injured one person who is currently receiving treatment at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH).

"Today, Friday morning, they killed another person, bringing the total fatalities to three. Regrettably, all the victims were local residents," Waku said.

Thousands in Gaza break into aid centres and take supplies, UN says
[BBC] Thousands in Gaza have broken into aid depots in a "worrying sign of civil order starting to break down", the UN relief agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) says
People took flour and other basic supplies after storming several warehouses and distribution centres in the centre and south of the territory on Saturday, according to UNRWA
Trying to steal it before Hamas does
Meanwhile, phone lines and internet connections are slowly returning after more than a day of almost total communications blackout

Connectivity was cut as Israel intensified its bombardment of Gaza, and began a large ground operation involving tanks and troops.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) say more troops entered the territory overnight, while warplanes attacked more than 450 Hamas targets.

Israel has been bombing Gaza since the 7 October Hamas attacks that killed 1,400 people and saw 230 people kidnapped as hostages.

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says more than 8,000 people have been killed since Israel's retaliatory bombing began.

Paleostinian resistance group announced on Saturday the failure of the Israeli ground attack, saying significant losses were inflicted upon the occupation forces.

"The enemy fell into ambushes set up by the Paleostinian resistance on three fronts," Hamas said in a statement, adding that resistance fighters used Kornet anti-tank missiles and Yassin shells against occupation forces.

The Israeli occupation used helicopters to evacuate the maimed and the dead from the battlefield, the group stated, expecting that the Israeli occupation will try further incursions.

Meanwhile on Saturday, the Israeli army, which rarely acknowledges losses, shared a footage of occupation forces operating in the Gaza Strip. The undated video showing tanks was shared through the military’s official account on X.

Earlier on Friday, Israeli occupation army said ground troops were "expanding their efforts inside Gaza to dismantle the infrastructure of Hamas."

Late Friday night, Paleostinian media also reported that Israeli tanks were taking their position within the Gaza Strip.

COMMUNICATIONS BLACKOUT
The Israeli incursion was preceded by a near-total blackout of internet and cellphone service.

The largest telecommunications provider in Gaza that was still largely operational, Paltel, said Friday that it had suffered a complete disruption of all services after heavy Israeli bombing earlier in the day destroyed its last remaining infrastructure connecting it to the global internet.

NetBlocks, a U.K. company that tracks global internet connectivity, said the bombing created the biggest internet blackout since the conflict began.

Strip, Yahya Sinwar, has offered to release all hostages being held in Gaza in return for the release of all Hamas prisoners in Israeli jails, BBC reported, in his first comments since the war began on 7 October.

In a statement on the group's official website, Sinwar said: "We are ready for an immediate exchange deal that includes the release of all prisoners in the prisons of the Zionist enemy in exchange for the release of all prisoners with the resistance."

Israeli army attacks Hezbollah targets in Lebanon
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] In response to the rocket attacks, the Israeli air force carried out further attacks on targets of the Shiite organization Hezbollah in Lebanon. This was reported by the IDF press service.

“IDF fighters carried out strikes on a number of military targets in Lebanon belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah,” the military department said.

The Israelis hit military infrastructure facilities, including observation posts and one of the military complexes of this organization.

As Regnum reported , on October 27, Hezbollah tried to launch rockets towards Israeli territory; the rockets fell in Syria. It is clarified that at night an Israeli army fighter struck Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in Lebanon.

The United States is considering the possibility of using military force as a response if the Lebanese group Hezbollah joins the radical Palestinian movement Hamas and opens a “second front” against Israel, the Internet portal Axios reported.

The Israeli army overnight attacked 150 underground facilities in the north of the Gaza Strip.
