Afghanistan
U.S.- Afghan Peace Deal Includes Safety and Job Offers to Taliban
[Breitbart] The U.S. is offering Taliban narco-jihadists ‐ the killers behind most American military fatalities during the ongoing Afghan war ‐ safety and job opportunities as part of a peace deal, Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper reported on Thursday, citing a Pentagon plan.

Dawn quotes the Pentagon’s plan sent to Congress this week as saying, "Although some members of the Taliban may be weary of fighting and ready to lay down their weapons, they will only rejoin society if they believe their safety and the safety of their families are guaranteed, and if they have an opportunity to earn enough money to provide for their families."

The Taliban has reportedly indicated it is willing to allow a residual U.S. military presence to remain in Afghanistan to train local forces, including prospective ex-Taliban jihadis, to take on the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) and other terrorist groups.

NSA Hamdullah Mohib says ISIS has been defeated in Afghanistan
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Afghan National Security Advisor Dr. Hamdullah Mohib has said that the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group has been defeated in Afghanistan as he informed regarding the growwing capabilities of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces capabilities as compared to the faceless myrmidons and terrorist groups.

Dr. Mohib made the remarks during a meeting with Ali Shamkhani, the Secretary of the National Security Council of Iran.

Pointing towards the ongoing efforts to revive the Afghan-led grinding of the peace processor, Dr. Mohib said the people of Afghanistan want a lasting peace with dignity as he emphasized that the regional countries should assist Afghanistan in this regard.

He said a national consensus exists regarding grinding of the peace processor in Afghanistan and regional consensus is also needed to bring peace and stability in Afghanistan, a consensus which should be based on government to government relations.

According to Dr. Mohib, terrorism is an ominous phenomenon which threatens both countries, emphasizing that instability in one country would destabilize the whole region.

In his turn, the Secretary of Iran’s National Security Council reiterated Tehran’s continued support and hailed the Afghan government for its steps in various sectors.

group, it has been reported.

According to the local media reports, Ali Shamkhani, the Secretary of the National Security Council of Iran on Wednesday informed his Afghan counterpart that Tehran has been holding talks with the Taliban with the knowledge of the Afghan government.

The talks were held "to help curb the security problems in Afghanistan," Shamkhani told Hamdullah Mohib, the Afghan president’s national security advisor.

"All contacts and talks with the Taliban group have been with the knowledge of Afghanistan’s government and this process will continue," the top Iranian security official was quoted as saying by Tehran Times.

Shamkhani arrived to Kabul leading a delegation of high-ranking Iranian security, military and political officials.

The Office of the National Security Council had earlier said that NSA Hamdullah Mohib held talks regarding the ongoing fight against terrorism, peace efforts, and regional cooperation.

Taliban to US: Leave Afghanistan or face Soviet-style defeat
[PRESSTV] The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
myrmidon group has warned the United States it would face the same fate as the Soviet Union in the 1980s if it did not leave violence-wracked Afghanistan.

Taliban front man Zabiullah Mujahid said in a statement on Thursday that US forces face "humiliation" and could "learn a great deal" from the experience of their Cold War foe.

"Take heed from the Soviet defeat in Afghanistan and abandon thoughts of testing the mettle of the already proven Afghans," said the statement issued on the 39th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of the war-torn country.

The Soviets pulled out of Afghanistan in 1989, ending a decade-long occupation and precipitating a bloody civil war and the emergence of the Taliban and other myrmidon groups.

Elsewhere in the statement, Taliban front man added that any future relations between the Taliban and the United States should be based on "sound diplomatic and economic principles" rather than conflict.

Saudi outreach to Israel 'faces setbacks' after Khashoggi crisis

and two of his aides were implicated in a journalist's killing, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Prince Mohammed, whom the US Senate blamed for Jamal Khashoggi's killing in October, spearheaded the outreach to Israel, a longtime foe, the Journal said in a report on Tuesday.

But the global outcry over Khashoggi's murder in October and fallout within the royal court has diminished the prince's influence and dampened Saudi Arabia's appetite for risky foreign policy endeavours, the Journal said, citing people familiar with the matter.

"Things have definitely cooled off right after Khashoggi's murder," a senior Saudi government official told the Journal.

US responsible for Yemen disaster: NYT
[DAWN] America’s fingerprints are all over the war in Yemen, the New York Times said on Wednesday.

The US is currently abetting in a humanitarian disaster that could ultimately rival those in Syria and Iraq in its destabilising impact on the region and the world, according to the newspaper.

More than 10,000 people have been killed over the past three years in the civil war pitting the Houthi rebels against Saudi-backed government loyalists.

The tens of thousands of deaths may represent only a fraction of the total victims and the US government seems to be “doing everything it can to make things worse”, an article published in NYT said.

International aid agencies have warned that some 20 million people are at risk of dying of starvation or poverty-related diseases in Yemen and a number of African countries, all of which are facing critical food shortages.

In Yemen alone, Save the Children counts 20.7 million people, half of them children, are in dire need of aid.

A cholera epidemic is raging through the parts of Yemen hit hardest by the war, with at least 360,000 suspected cases. Some 2,000 people have already died because in the epidemic and the number of cases is rising by some 7,000 a day.

Both of these crises are entirely man-made. The famine in Yemen is not a consequence of drought or crop failure because in recent years Yemen has shifted most of its agricultural land to growing the stimulant drug Qat and other cash crops, importing almost 90 percent of its food.

The famine is the result of a two-year blockade imposed on the country by Saudi Arabia with the help of its allies, including the United States, the paper said.

In a deliberate effort to starve the rebel-held areas into submission, the ruthless siege tactics of the Saudi-led coalition are also directly to blame for the cholera outbreak, the NYT wrote.

SANAA - Northern Shiite rebels on Tuesday rejected a six-region federation plan for Yemen saying that the proposed division of the republic does not distribute wealth evenly. A panel headed by President Abdrabuh Mansur Hadi, and including representatives of Yemen's main parties agreed the plan on Monday, as part of a "national dialogue" and the country's political transition. The plan will be inserted into the text of a new constitution to be voted on within a year.

"We have rejected it because it divides Yemen into poor and wealthy" regions. [Shiite response, although the UN is still searching for a wealthy region.]

Saudi king orders cabinet shakeup after Khashoggi's killing
[DAWN] Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
's King Salman
...either the largest species of Pacific salmon or the current Sheikh of the Burnin' Sands, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Lord of Most of the Arabians....
issued a wide-ranging overhaul of top government posts on Thursday, including naming a new foreign minister, following international fallout from the killing of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi nearly three months ago.

He also ordered a shakeup of the kingdom's two supreme councils that oversee matters related to the economy and security, respectively. Both councils are headed by the king's son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia as of 2016....
, whose powers, including roles as deputy prime minister and defense minister, were untouched in the overhaul.

The changes appear to further consolidate the crown prince's grip on power by appointing advisers and members of the royal family seen as close to him.

Adel al-Jubeir, the soft-spoken foreign minister who took over the post in 2015 from the late Prince Saud al-Faisal, was replaced by Ibrahim al-Assaf, formerly a longtime finance minister. al-Jubeir was appointed to the rank of minister of state for foreign affairs.

Al-Assaf had been serving as a minister of state prior to being named foreign minister. He holds a seat on the boards of state-owned oil-giant Saudi Aramco and the kingdom's sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund. The crown prince oversees both entities.

Al-Assaf's biography on Aramco's website says he holds a PhD in economics from Colorado State University, a master's degree in economics from the University of Denver and a bachelor's degree from King Saud University.

The changes, which impact several key ministries, come as the king and his son, the crown prince, were looking to announce a major reshuffle following Khashoggi's killing by Saudi agents in Istanbul.

Key French jihadist Peter Cherif set to return to prison

One of La Belle France’s most wanted jihadists, considered a potential source of valuable information by Western intelligence agencies, is set to return to prison Thursday following seven years on the run.

Peter Cherif, 36, was close to the brothers who massacred staff members of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in 2015. He later became a high-ranking member of al-Qaeda in Yemen.

French authorities have been seeking him since he disappeared in 2011 on the final day of his trial in Gay Paree for fighting in Iraq alongside al-Qaeda in 2004.

Cherif, who was sentenced to five years in prison in the trial, was placed in durance vile

carrying fake ID documents, according to the presidency of the Horn of Africa country.

He arrived back in La Belle France on Sunday and has since refused to speak to Sherlocks during questioning, according to a source close to the probe.

On Thursday he appeared before a judge and was given a new "terrorist conspiracy" charge before returning to prison, a judicial source told AFP.

Investigators opened a new investigation in 2017 into his activities in Yemen, where he joined the senior ranks of the local branch of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula

took office in January 2017.

Cherif, also known as Abu Hamza, was placed on the US blacklist of foreign snuffies in 2015.

He has been a figure of interest for French police investigating a trio of attacks in January 2015 that left 17 people dead, including at Charlie Hebdo’s offices and a kosher supermarket, Hyper Cacher, in Gay Paree.

But despite media reports suggesting he may have played a role in the attacks, he is not the subject of an arrest warrant in the Charlie Hebdo probe.

The attack on the magazine marked the start of a wave of jihadist attacks in La Belle France which have claimed more than 240 lives.

After his arrest in the Iraqi city of Fallujah in 2004, Cherif was sentenced to 15 years in jail in Baghdad before escaping in 2007 and heading to Syria.

He was extradited to La Belle France before slipping away again during his trial.

Trump blunder reveals identity of US Navy SEALs in Iraq
[PRESSTV] According to pool reports, the trip's details were kept a secret until Trump finished giving a speech before a group of about 100 troops, mostly US special operation forces engaged in combat operations in Iraq and Syria.

The reports said Trump then paused to take a selfie with US Navy Lieutenant Commander Kyu Lee, who identified himself as the chaplain for SEAL Team Five, based out of Coronado, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,.

Trump told him in response: "Hey, in that case, let’s take a picture."

After leaving Iraq's airspace, the American head of state posted a video to his Twitter account that shows the Trumps taking pictures with troops that appeared to be from the US Navy SEAL Team Five.

In the video, the special warfare forces are seen dressed in full battle gear and wearing night vision goggles.

The reports said Trump's video revealed more "special operations personnel and support troops" were featured in the video as well, which was still available at the time of this writing.

"The real names, faces and identities of personnel involved in special operations or activities are usually a closely held secret in a combat zone," Malcolm Nance, a former US Navy intelligence specialist with experience in Iraq told Newsweek. "Revealing them casually, through an unusual media exposure even if it’s the commander in chief, would prove a propaganda boom if any of this personnel are detained by a hostile government or captured by a terrorist group. There would be no denying who you are and what you do."

Iraqi lawmakers demand U.S. withdrawal after Trump visit
[Politico] Iraqi lawmakers Thursday demanded U.S. forces leave the country in the wake of a surprise visit by President Donald Trump that politicians denounced as arrogant and a violation of Iraqi sovereignty.

Politicians from both blocs of Iraq’s divided Parliament called for a vote to expel U.S. troops and promised to schedule an extraordinary session to debate the matter.

"Parliament must clearly and urgently express its view about the ongoing American violations of Iraqi sovereignty," said Salam al-Shimiri, a lawmaker loyal to the populist cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.

Trump, making his first presidential visit to troops in a troubled region Wednesday, said he has no plans to withdraw the 5,200 U.S. forces in the country.

Containing foreign influence has become a hot-button issue in a year that saw al-Sadr supporters win the largest share of votes in May elections. Al-Sadr has called for curbing U.S. and Iranian involvement in Iraqi affairs.

U.S. troops are stationed in Iraq as part of the coalition against the Islamic State group. American forces withdrew in 2011 after invading in 2003 but returned in 2014 at the invitation of the Iraqi government to help fight the jihadist group.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Trump: We give Israel billions, it can defend itself in Syria
[IsraelTimes] President says he’s told Netanyahu military aid makes up for lack of US troops, amid jitters in Israel that withdrawal will make battling Iranian entrenchment more difficult

US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
on Wednesday said he was not worried that pulling troops out of Syria could endanger Israel, citing vast American military aid to the Jewish state and saying it can defend itself.

Trump made the comments while on a surprise trip to Iraq ‐ the president’s first official visit to a conflict zone ‐ where he defended his controversial decision last week to remove US military forces from Syria, where they have been leading the coalition to fight the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. terror group.

Speaking with news hounds, Trump was asked about criticism that the move could put Israel in jeopardy by allowing Iran to expand its foothold in Syria.

"Well, I don’t see it. I spoke with Bibi," he said, referring to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "I told Bibi. And, you know, we give Israel $4.5 billion a year. And they’re doing very well defending themselves, if you take a look."

"So that’s the way it is," Trump said, according to a White House transcript.

"We’re going to take good care of Israel. Israel is going to be good. But we give Israel $4.5 billion a year. And we give them, frankly, a lot more money than that, if you look at the books ‐ a lot more money than that. And they’ve been doing a very good job for themselves," he added.

It was not immediately clear where Trump’s figure of $4.5 billion or more came from.

The United States currently allocates $3.8 billion to Israel every year as part of a defense aid package forged between the B.O. regime and the Netanyahu government. The memorandum of understanding provides Israel with $38 billion over a 10-year period, which includes funding for the Iron Dome system and other missile interception programs.

The Trump White House has maintained that agreement since taking office, despite Trump complaining about foreign aid disbursements.

The president on Wednesday cited his decision to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as evidence of his commitment to Israel.

#2  I would agree. Israel is better at playing in their own back yard, have better ROE, and don't have all the demoncrats trying to hang every serviceman that defends themselves.

Give Israel all the ammo it needs and tell them to go nuts.

#6  Trump showing hate towards Israel

missed the /sarc right?

Let the boy earn his spurs!

"They with the prince sent a messenger to the king, who was on a little windmill hill.

Then the knight said to the king: 'Sir, the earl of Warwick and the earl of Oxford, Sir Raynold Cobham and other, such as be about the prince, your son, are fiercely fought withal and are sore handled; wherefore they desire you that you and your battle will come and aid them; for if the Frenchmen increase, as they doubt they will, your son and they shall have much ado.'

Then the king said: 'Is my son dead or hurt or on the earth felled?'

'No, sir,' quoth the knight, 'but he is hardly matched; wherefore he hath need of your aid.'

'Well" said the king, 'return to him and to them that sent you hither, and say to them that they send no more to me for any adventure that falleth, as long as my son is alive: and also say to them that they suffer him this day to win his spurs; for if God be pleased, I will this journey be his and the honour thereof, and to them that be about him.

Hezbollah races to save terror tunnels as IDF floods them
[Ynet] Israeli military fills underground terror constructions near Metula with water and cement in order to expose entry shafts dug from residential homes in Lebanese villages, and to eliminate possibility of Shi'ite terror group salvaging what's left of their strategic assets.

The IDF flooded with cement and water the Hezbollah tunnels, which appear to have been dug from residential houses in Lebanese villages, as the Shi’ite terror group scrambles to salvage what’s left of their strategic assets.

At the beginning of the month, the IDF launched Operation Northern Shield to expose and neutralize terror tunnels Hezbollah has constructed along the Israel-Leb border since 2006, and so far five underground constructions have been destroyed by the Israeli military.

The tunnels near the northern city of Metula were deliberately filled with large quantities of water and construction substances such as cement and bentonite, in order to not only eliminate the possibility of them being at least partially saved by Hezbollah, but to also cause flooding and expose the Lebanese villages from which the constructions originate.

Shortly after the IDF operation was launched, Lebanese media aired footage showing a concrete block factory that was set up by Hezbollah along the border meant to conceal the entry shafts to the terror tunnels, which sources in the IDF initially described as a "surprise."

"The methods which we use to neutralize the tunnels vary depending on their size, shape and surroundings. If the best way to neutralize a specific tunnel would result in the destruction of houses on the other side of the border, we still have to do it. The responsibility is 100% on us, not on UNIFIL or the Lebanese army," said one IDF officer.

After the tunnels were flooded, it became clear that tunnels excavated from the village of Kila‐only two kilometres from Metula‐had several openings which seemed to have been dug from inside residential homes.

The IDF Spokesperson Ronen Manelis warned Hezbollah that the IDF could fill the tunnels with substances much more hazardous than cement or water.

"We’ve warned the residents on the Lebanese side of the border that they endanger their lives by allowing for these tunnels to be dug from their homes."

"The operation is not over yet," added Manelis. "We haven’t seen either UNIFIL or the Lebanese army operating against the tunnels, even though we’ve presented them with the evidence."

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit also clarified the two tunnels exposed by the Israeli military last week, which originated from the Lebanese border towns of Ramyah and Ayta ash Shab, were destroyed in its entirety by a controlled kaboom carried out by the army.

Well, I'm not sure about Israel, but for our border, we could run seismic trucks to find the tunnels and see if there's anything worth fracking along the way.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Photos said to show Iranian warehouse flattened by Israeli strike in Syria
Images can be seen at the link.
[IsraelTimes] But satellite images reveal no evidence of attack at Damascus airport, which reportedly targeted a 747 cargo jet belonging to Iran’s Fars Air Qeshm

Satellite images show the extent of damage from an alleged Israeli strike in Syria this week, with one photo indicating that a large storage facility was completely destroyed, an Israeli satellite imaging company said Thursday.

The photos, taken December 26 and published by ImageSat International, were of the remains of an Iranian warehouse at a base belonging to the Syrian army’s 4th division and located west of the capital Damascus, the company said. The 900-square-meter (8,000 square foot) structure appeared to have been obliterated by the attack, it said.

However,
a lie repeated often enough remains a lie...
by contrast, the images showed no evidence of an attack at Damascus airport. Initial media reports of the Arclight airstrike had speculated that a 747 cargo jet, belonging to Iran’s Fars Air Qeshm, had been targeted after it landed at the airport.

The civilian company has been accused on multiple occasions of smuggling Iranian arms to Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed Lebanese terror group that fought Israel in a 2006 war, and media speculated that its cargo had been the target of the strikes.

An Israeli security official confirmed to the News Agency that Dare Not be Named on Wednesday that Israel carried out the overnight airstrike in Syria, saying a series of Iranian targets were hit.

The official said the air force had attacked several Iranian targets in three main locations late Tuesday and early Wednesday. He said the targets were primarily storage and logistics facilities used by archenemy Iran to ship weapons to Hezbollah.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity under standard security protocols. The Israeli military has not commented on the incident.

Earlier Wednesday, Russia criticized the airstrikes, saying they had endangered civilian flights. The Israeli official said, however, that Israel alerted Russia about the airstrikes ahead of time and the flights were endangered by Syrian anti-aircraft fire.

Russian Defense Ministry front man Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said the Syrian air defense forces shot down 14 of the 16 precision-guided bombs dropped by the Israeli jets, while the remaining two hit a Syrian military depot 7 kilometers (about 4 miles) west of Damascus, injuring three Syrian soldiers.

But the Israeli official said all targets had been hit, in some cases causing secondary kabooms.

Syrian media said Wednesday morning that Israel hit a base used by Hezbollah in al-Dimas, a weapons depot at a base belonging to the Syrian army’s 4th division in Sabura and the military’s 10th Division command in Qatana.

Leb’s acting Transport Minister Youssef Fenianos later on Wednesday said the Lebanese government will present a complaint to the UN Security Council.

The Syrian military didn’t fully engage its air defense assets to avoid accidentally hitting the passenger jets, Konashenkov said. He added that Syrian air traffic controllers redirected the Damascus-bound plane to a Russian air base in Syria’s coastal province of Latakia.

Israeli Drilling Works Continue on Border

[AnNahar] Israeli forces continued Wednesday drilling works on Leb's border in search of suspected Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
tunnels, the Lebanese National News Agency said.

"Enemy forces are continuing drilling works on the border with Kfarkila and the (Lebanese) army forced them to adjust their border wall plans," NNA said.

According to the agency, a patrol from the army's Directorate of Geographic Affairs carried out delineation works in a disputed area facing Kfarkila, forcing Israeli troops to retreat beyond the military route.

The works were being monitored by a large number of troops from the two sides as well as UNIFIL peacekeepers, NNA added.

Iran building a drone force based on captured US, Israeli tech — report
[IsraelTimes] Al Jazeera claims Tehran increasingly using UAVs to monitor its airspace and track enemy fleets.

"For Iran, [drones] comprise a new type of aerial fleet that avoids the technological complications of modern [manned] aviation," the report last week by journalist Nur Ad-Din al-Daghir said, according to a translation Wednesday by the Middle East Media Research Institute, MEMRI, which tracks Middle Eastern television broadcasts.

The report quoted Dawoud Najafi-pour, of the Iran Aviation Industries Organization, claiming Tehran "is ranked fifth in the world in the field of manufacturing UAVs, and all this is due to local capabilities which we can develop even further."

UAVs, Iranian officials told the network, can remain airborne for as long as 48 hours, be controlled remotely and strike targets as far as 1,000 kilometers from Iran’s borders.

The report claimed Iran has already used drones to target Islamic State

facilities in Syria and Kurdish forces in northern Iraq.

Iran has been known to exaggerate the capabilities of its air force, and in August was ridiculed by Israel for allegedly presenting a retooled obsolete aircraft as a new "indigenous" fighter jet.

UAE reopens Damascus embassy after seven years
[IsraelTimes] Emirati flag flies above new Syrian mission as Gulf nation says it’s ’keen to put relations back on their normal track’.

A visit to Damascus by Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir
Head of the National Congress Party. He came to power in 1989 when he, as a brigadier in the Sudanese army, led a group of officers in a bloodless military coup that ousted the government of Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi and eventually appointed himself president-for-life. He has fallen out with his Islamic mentor, Hasan al-Turabi, tried to impose shariah on the Christian and animist south, resulting in its secessesion, and attempted to Arabize Darfur by unleashing the barbaric Janjaweed on it. Sudan's potential prosperity has been pissed away in warfare that has left as many as 400,000 people dead and 2.5 million displaced. Omar has been indicted for genocide by the International Criminal Court but nothing is expected to come of it.
earlier this month had been interpreted by some observers as a sign of regional efforts to end Assad’s diplomatic isolation.

UAE embassy reopening, US pullout prove failure of anti-Syria plots: Pundit
[PRESSTV] The UAE's reopening of its embassy in Syria and the US announcement that it will withdraw its forces from the country reflect the failure of plots targeting the government of Syria's President Bashar al-Assad, says an American analyst.

“What has happened is that over the past seven years…, the United Arab Emirates as well as other [Persian] Gulf states have attempted to weaken and destroy the government of President [Bashar] al-Assad in Syria,” Keith Preston told Press TV from Virginia on Thursday.

The Syrian Information Ministry announced on Thursday that the United Arab Emirates had officially reopened its embassy for the first time since 2011.

US does not dare mention military option against Iran: IRGC cmdr.
[PRESSTV] The top commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the United States' power is on the decline and faced with Iran's increasing might, it does not dare mention the military option against the Islamic Theocratic Republic anymore.

Speaking at a ceremony in Tehran on Thursday, Major General Mohammad Ali Ja'fari said Iran is no more facing a security threat in the light of its rising power.

"We have distanced ourselves from the security threat since many years ago and no superpower even dreams of aggression" against Iran while all of them "are extremely afraid of a conflict with Iran and its consequences," the senior military commander said.

"When we compare the US power now with 40 years ago, we see that as put by the Leader [of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei
...the successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and the actual dictator of Iran...
] America is on the decline and today, they themselves confess to their weakness in the face of Iran. Iran is now so powerful that they do not dare mention the military option against Iran anymore," the IRGC chief commander added.
