Lawsuit claims California school district covertly approved anti-Israel curricula
[IsraelTimes] Leading Jewish groups seek to block ethnic studies courses at Orange County schools, claiming board illegally avoided notifying public, referred to issue as ’the Jewish question’

Leading US Jewish groups on Monday said they had filed a lawsuit against a large Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, school district alleging the school’s board covertly approved anti-Israel curricula, deliberately depriving the Jewish community and others of their legal right to weigh in on the controversial lesson plans.

The lawsuit against Orange County’s Santa Ana Unified School District sought to overturn the curricula, in the latest salvo in a years-long battle over the handling of the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict, and Jewish American representation, in ethnic studies courses in California schools.

Court Says Greg Abbott Can Keep Border Buoys For Now
[Daily Caller] An appeals court said that Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott can keep his floating buoy barrier at the southern border in place for the time being, according to a Monday court filing.

The decision from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals is temporary until a final decision is made in the case, according to the filing. U.S. Judge for the Western District of Texas David Alan Ezra, who was appointed by then-President Ronald Reagan, ruled Wednesday that Texas’ actions have "irreparably" harmed "public safety, navigation, and the operations of federal agency officials in and around the Rio Grande" after the Biden administration sued. (RELATED: Former Border Patrol Chief Says ’Chainsaw Devices’ On Abbott’s River Buoys Prevent Climbing, Are Not Dangerous)

"With respect to the buoy barrier that is currently in place, this is a Preliminary Injunction and not a final disposition of this case on the full merits, so this Court is counseled to act in a measured way. As a result, the Court is directing that the buoy barrier be moved from the main waters of the Rio Grande River to the riverbank, rather than removal entirely from the river, so that the barrier does not impede or impair in any way navigation by airboats or other shallow draft craft along the Rio Grande River," Ezra wrote in his ruling.
It’s better than nothing, I suppose. And anyway, the circuit court of appeals is only an interim step before the US Supreme Court.

Iraq Seeks Extradition of Iraqi Refugee for Quran Desecration in Sweden
[Shafaq News] Iraq has officially requested the extradition of Iraqi refugee Salwan Momika from Sweden, who sparked international outrage by desecrating the Koran, according to Momika and his lawyer, as reported by AFP on Tuesday.

Lawyer David Hall confirmed that Iraq is seeking Momika's extradition because he burnt a Koran outside a mosque in Stockholm in June. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
Hall explained the legal complexities involved, stating, "To be extradited to another country, the law (in Sweden) dictates that the crime has to be a crime in both Sweden and Iraq." Since burning the holy book is not considered a crime in Sweden, extradition on these grounds is impossible.

Sweden's government has strongly condemned the desecration of the Koran but has maintained its commitment to freedom of speech and assembly, citing its national laws.

Momika expressed bewilderment at Iraq's extradition request, saying, "I don't understand why they (Iraq) bother with such a demand. I'm sure the Iraqi government understands this." He also stated that Iraq is seeking his extradition to be judged according to Islamic laws.

Momika has burned Korans during protests in Sweden since June, leading to widespread outrage and condemnation in Moslem-majority countries. Iraqi protesters stormed the Swedish embassy in Baghdad twice in July, leading to fires within the embassy compound.

As a result of these incidents, Sweden's intelligence agency raised its terror alert level to four on a scale of five, considering the country a "prioritized target."

The Swedish government is currently exploring legal avenues to address protests involving burning holy texts in specific circumstances. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
it is uncertain whether sufficient support for legislation changes will exist.

David Hall noted that Momika's extradition case will likely reach the Swedish Supreme Court, and a decision may take several weeks or even a few months.

GOP Excoriates Joe Biden for Paying ‘Ransom' to Terror in ‘Disgraceful' Deal with Iran on 9/11 Anniversary
[Breitbart] Republican officials blasted the Biden administration for paying “ransom” to the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism after it reportedly approved a “shameful” deal with Iran to pay the Islamic regime $6 billion in exchange for five detained Iranian-American citizens on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

“It’s ridiculous for US to be blackmailed into paying $6B for hostages which will help indirectly finance the number 1 foreign policy of Iran: terrorism,” wrote Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley.

Iraq
Israeli abducted in Iraq is a Mossad spy, say UK academic, former MP
Vile. They’re trying to get her murdered.
[Shafaq News] Kidnapped Russian-Israeli researcher Elizabeth Tsurkov is a spy, British sociologist David Miller and former MP Chris Williamson claimed in recent posts on X.

Tsurkov, who was researching in Iraq on behalf of Princeton University, was kidnapped by Kata'ib Hezbollah in March. As the Jerusalem Post reported in July, senior Israeli diplomats have denied that Tsurkov is working for Israeli intelligence.

"Did you know the father of Elizabeth Tsurkov, the Russian-Israeli missing in Iraq, was part of an Israeli intelligence plot in the Soviet Union to recruit settlers for Paleostine?", David Miller posted on September 11.

Governor claims Sulu has eliminated Abu Sayyaf Group but observers urge caution
[BenarNews] The governor of Sulu has declared it to be free of Abu Sayyaf
...also known as al-Harakat al-Islamiyya, an Islamist terror group based in Jolo, Basilan and Zamboanga. Since its inception in the early 1990s, the group has carried out bombings, kidnappings, murders, head choppings, and extortion in their uniquely Islamic attempt to set up an independent Moslem province in the Philippines. Abu Sayyaf forces probably number less than 300 cadres. The group is closely allied with remnants of Indonesia's Jemaah Islamiya and has loose ties with MILF and MNLF who sometimes provide cannon fodder...
holy warriors, but analysts warn that the group’s top leaders remain on the lam while private armies hired by politicians strike fear among people in the southern Philippine province.

Sulu Gov. Abdusakur Tan, who chairs a task force of military and local government officials, last week announced that the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) had been wiped out in Sulu, a chain of islands in the far south near the Malaysian part of Borneo.

The source says that the site can accommodate large drones, including armed ones, similar to those produced by Iran, according to Lebanese media outlet al-Jadeed.

The source says they believe drones launched from the airfield will mostly be used internally.

Yesterday, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant accused Iran of setting up an airport in southern Lebanon, 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the Israeli border, which he said was being used "for terror purposes" against Israelis.

Iran confirms it’s holding Swedish diplomat, says he ‘committed crimes’

Satayshi said the Swede was sent "to prison with a legal order."

He said an investigation into the case "is being finalized" and will be sent to the relevant court "in the coming days."

The EU’s top diplomat Josep Borrell said last week that the bloc had been pushing "relentlessly" for the Swede’s release.

The Swedish government has also called on Iran to free Floderus.

Top Hamas leader in Beirut in a bid to stop clashes at Palestinian refugee camp

’s largest Paleostinian refugee camp that resumed despite multiple ceasefire agreements.

Days of fighting in the Ein el-Hilweh refugee camp near the southern port city of Sidon left at least six people dead and over 50 others maimed, according to medical officials and state media. Stray bullets and shells hit residential areas in the country’s third-largest city, wounding five Lebanese soldiers at checkpoints near the camp yesterday.

A ceasefire declared late yesterday, after Lebanon’s head of the country’s General Security Directorate met with officials from rival Paleostinian factions, lasted just hours before fighting erupted again.

Senior Hamas official Moussa Abu Marzouk will meet with Lebanese officials and representatives from the Paleostinian factions to try and reach a settlement to end the festivities, the hard boy group said in a statement.

Hamas has not taken part in the festivities.

Iran identifies 5 prisoners it wants from US in swap
[IsraelTimes] Iran

identifies the five prisoners it hopes to see freed in the United States in exchange for five Iranian-Americans now held in Tehran and billions in assets once held by South Korea.

The acknowledgment by the Iranian mission to the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
in New York comes as the Biden administration has issued a blanket waiver for international banks to transfer $6 billion in frozen Iranian money from South Korea to Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. without fear of US sanctions.

The moves by both Tehran and Washington appear to signal the prisoner swap is progressing as the money once held in South Korean won is converted into euros and moved to Qatar, where Iran will be able to use it for humanitarian purposes.

In a statement to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named, Ali Karimi Magham, a front man for the Iranian mission, confirms the list of prisoners that Tehran wants released.

The five sought by the Iranians are:

Kaveh Lotfolah Afrasiabi, an Iranian charged in 2021 with allegedly failing to register as a foreign agent on Iran’s behalf while lobbying US officials on issues like nuclear policy;

Mehrdad Ansari, an Iranian sentenced to 63 months in prison in 2021 for obtaining equipment that could be used in missiles, electronic warfare, nuclear weapons and other military gear;

Amin Hasanzadeh, an Iranian and permanent resident of the United States whom prosecutors charged in 2019 with allegedly stealing engineering plans from his employer to send to Iran;

Reza Sarhangpour Kafrani, an Iranian charged in 2021 over allegedly unlawfully exporting laboratory equipment to Iran; and

Kambiz Attar Kashani, an Iranian-American sentenced in February to 30 months in prison for purchasing "sophisticated, top-tier U.S. electronic equipment and software" through front companies in the United Arab Emirates.

The US State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the list.

Terror Networks
US sanctions Lebanon-South America network accused of financing Hezbollah
[IsraelTimes] The US Treasury slaps terrorism sanctions on a family network of seven individuals and businesses in Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. ...a country located on the other side of the Deep South. It is covered with Pampers and inhabited by Grouchos, who dance the Tangle. They used to have some islands called the Malvinas located where the Falklands are now. They're not supposed to cry for Evita...
in the 1990s.

Amer Mohammed Akil Rada was described as "one of the operational members" who carried out the attack on the Argentine-Israelite Mutual Association in Buenos Aires in 1994, which killed 85 people and maimed hundreds. A 1992 attack on the Israeli Embassy in Argentina killed 29 people.

"Today’s action underscores the US government’s commitment to pursuing Hezbollah operatives and financiers no matter their location," says Brian Nelson, the Treasury’s under-secretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, in a statement.

The Iran-backed group is designated a "foreign terrorist organization," and Washington also claims that the group has been involved in drug trafficking in Latin America to generate revenue.

Rada, according to the Treasury, spent over a decade in South America before relocating to Lebanon. During his time there, he allegedly ran a charcoal business that frequently exported from Colombia to Lebanon and used "80 percent of the proceeds of his commercial enterprise to benefit Hezbollah."
