Planned Parenthood CEO Warns That Down Syndrome Barbie Could Teach Young Girls To Value Human Life
[Bee] Ouch!
Planned Parenthood CEO Alexis McGill Johnson issued a dire warning in response to Mattel's new Down Syndrome Barbie, saying it might cause young, impressionable girls to think that all human life has value.

"Here at Planned Parenthood, we proudly kill almost 90% of Down Syndrome babies before they have the chance to pollute the world with their inferior genetics," said Johnson. "Our eugenics program could be in jeopardy if kids start to see Down Syndrome kids as precious gifts worthy of love. We can't allow that to happen."

"We're calling on Mattel to pull this harmful product from store shelves immediately."

Sources say the dolls have been a hit, with thousands flying off the shelves in the days after release. Progressives, feminists, and Planned Parenthood executives have petitioned the toy company to halt sales to prevent further damage to their worldview and bottom line.

At publishing time, Planned Parenthood had offered to buy up the dolls and dispose of them for a small fee.

America's Most ‘Woke' Employers: Not The Mouse
[Epoch Times] To compile the list of the top 500 companies, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey 45,000 American workers at companies with at least 1,000 employees. Participants were asked to anonymously rate their companies on criteria such as age, gender, ethnicity, disability, LGBT equality, and overall diversity.

Additionally, participants in "underrepresented groups" were asked to recommend other companies that they felt matched the criteria, and each business’ diversity-related policies were also reviewed and taken into consideration.
I guess that would expand the "top 500 companies" and maybe push Disney farther down the list.
Given Disney’s recent feud with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, sparked by his "anti-woke" policies relating to children and education, the company’s high placement on the list is unlikely to shock many—but some of the Top 10 businesses might.

On Forbes’ 2023 list of "America’s Best Employers for Diversity," The Walt Disney Co. ranked No. 98, beating out such companies as Nike, Bank of America, and Netflix. Topping the list as the most diverse employer in the nation was the insurance provider Progressive Corp.
You'll recognize most of the other 'top ten'.
But not everyone is on board with the progressive approach to business and hiring, which has drawn the ire of Republicans in particular.

In February, the office of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott warned agencies in his state that hiring based on immutable characteristics like race, sex, or religion is illegal under both Texas and federal law.

"Rather than increasing diversity in the workplace, these DEI initiatives are having the opposite effect and are being advanced in ways that proactively encourage discrimination in the workplace," Abbott’s Chief of Staff Gardner Pate wrote in a Feb. 4 letter to state agency leaders. "Illegally adding DEI as a condition of employment leads to the exclusion and alienation of individuals from the workplace."
But mostly more experienced (old), cis male identifying, and color deficient individuals, which may have been the plan all along. Just to make up for past injustices, real or imagined, you understand.
Likewise, in addition to his feud with Disney, Florida’s governor has been vocal in his opposition to DEI initiatives in schools and the workplace.

"I think [DEI] has been used in the administrative apparatus of universities to try to impose, not diversity of thought, but to impose uniformity of thought," DeSantis said at a recent roundtable discussion. "And instead of inclusion, the people that dissent from this orthodoxy are actually excluded and marginalized."

-Land of the Free
Guns Aren't Causing America's Violent Crime Problem
[TTAG] Repeatedly in the press, we see "it’s the guns, it’s the guns, it’s the guns" as the explanation for homicide in the United States, but this rhetoric only serves to obscure the actual homicide problem. I don’t believe that black Americans are more inherently violent than any other group of Americans, but I do believe the country at large, particularly its white liberal faction, needs to come to grips with what’s going on in the black community before anything can be fixed.

As we go through this deep dive, we will discover the mathematical key to solving the murder problem in the United States lies not in gun control, nor even in socioeconomics, but rather in repairing the family unit across all demographics.

As is often the case on Handwaving Freakoutery, we are going to begin with mathematics, and attempt to replicate this entirely unsourced graph I saw on Twitter last week . . .
Longish, lots of charts, but seems well argued.
--- snip ---

What do we take away from this in convenient 280-character Twitter-worthy snippets?

1. If US black and Latino murder rates were the same as US white murder rates, then the United States would have the same murder rate as our economic peer nations even with more than 400 million guns in circulation,

2. Whites own more guns per capita than black folks or Latinos and there’s an inverse correlation between ownership and murder across those demographics, so "it’s the guns" is not explanatory for the murder rate differential in these populations,

3. The racist hot-take of "it’s genetic" is also not explanatory, because US black Americans more than double the sub-Saharan Africa murder rate, and Latin America south of the border is almost six times more murderous than the Latinos here.

It’s not the guns. And it’s also not the genetics.

So what is it?

#2  The FBI has not published a FULL national crime stats report since 2021?

However, pre-2021 FBI Crime Stats clearly showed, which racial group caused the most violent crimes per 1000. It used to show which racial group robbed, stole, or murdered the most of its own racial group per 1,000 incidents.

However, I don't feel it's specifically Black's or genetics to only blame.
I feel, a major part of the blame must include the LSD Metro Voter Plantation's social cultural promotion and funding of single parent situations that has bred, what seems, a race based issue.

Nashville Christian School holds fast to its convictions and successfully repels an LGBTQ operative
[AmericanThinker] The above person is "non-binary" student "B Hayes" and she is (or was?) a student at Nashville Christian School; as you can see, she was barred from entering the school’s recent prom. The image you see was posted to the girl’s social media in an attempt to draw attention to the school, obviously for condemnation; in the caption of her photo she wrote:

My senior prom was today and i wasn’t allowed in the doors because i was wearing a suit. i should not have to conform to femininity to attend my senior prom. i will not compromise who i am to fit in a box. who are you to tell us what it means to be a woman?

(I also find it worth mentioning the utter contempt of someone like "B Hayes" to pull such a stunt in the immediate aftermath of a "trans" suspect allegedly targeting a Christian school and executing innocent human beings, some of whom were children, in the very same town. Had it even been a month? Really, how deeply abhorrent can one person be?)

However, the school stood by its decision, and administrators provided the public with relevant and conveniently omitted information. According to a report from Todd Starnes news:

An official said that Nashville Christian School ’has established dress requirements for daily school attendance and at our special events. All students and families are aware of and sign an agreement to these guidelines when they enroll.’

The school added that the expectations for prom attire were communicated to the student and her family before the event.

’Expectations regarding appropriate prom attire were communicated to this student and the student’s family in advance of the prom,’ the statement continued. ’While we certainly respect a student’s right to disagree, all of our students know from our school handbook that when they do not follow such expectations at school-sponsored events, they may be asked to leave.’

Ahhh, and there it is. No one was forcing "B Hayes" to "conform to femininity"; rather, she freely and contractually agreed to do so. Then, when she wanted her fifteen minutes of fame to promote a false narrative, she hopped on social media to paint herself as a victim of the anti-"trans" Christian bigots running her school. Surprised? I doubt it.

    Afghanistan
Interview: Young lion of Panjshir fights Afghanistan’s 'epic prison'
    A taste:
[TheNationalNews] Ahmad Massoud tells The National he is trying to convince the West that his people need support to defy Taliban
    ...Arabic for students...
    rule.

    National Resistance Front
Ahmad Massoud was only 12 when his father, one of Afghanistan’s greatest leaders, was assassinated by Al Qaeda jacket wallahs.

Since then the Taliban has been banished, followed by 20 years of democracy only to be demolished by the bully boys’ resurgence in 2021.

But during that time the son of Ahmad Shah Massoud gained military experience at Britannia’s Sandhurst military academy and studied for a master's degree in international politics.

His aura of authority was evident when, as the youngest person on the platform of a conference on Afghanistan in Vienna, it appeared that he had inherited his father’s stature to lead.

Asked in an interview with The National for his thoughts on western overtures to the Taliban, Mr Massoud, now 33, offered a resigned smile, one perhaps reserved for admonishing a child.

"You cannot wash dirt with dirt," he suggested to emphasise that if the international community thought it co-opt the Taliban with money and hints of diplomatic ties to resist forces like ISIS, it was gravely mistaken.

The faceless myrmidons who seized Afghanistan 20 months ago are deeply attached to a brutal autocratic government that uses hard drugs for income and harbours a number of terrorist groups yet to be unleashed on the wider world.

Until now there has been little internal opposition to their harsh rule. But the capable Mr Massoud has managed to pull together a diverse coalition of Afghans that represent a more palatable alternative government.

That unity was demonstrated in Vienna this week when Tajiks shared a platform with Pashtuns, Uzbeks and Hazaris at a three-day conference on Afghanistan.

As leader of the National Resistance® Front (NRF), Mr Massoud — sometimes referred to as the "Young Lion of Panjshir" — leads the largest group that is showing signs of forming a resilient military and political opposition.

With its attention diverted by Ukraine and still humiliated by defeat in Afghanistan, he warned the West it must not ignore Afghanistan's plight.

"Afghanistan has become an epic prison for its people and a safe haven for terrorist groups" and was also a country that could also revisit the "catastrophic" events of the past, he said.

    SON OF PANJSHIR
When the Taliban crushed government forces in 2021 they swept through the formerly impregnable Panjshir valley. That aura of invincibility was born under the enigmatic leadership of Ahmad Shah Massoud, the "Lion of Panjshir", who had defeated the Soviets and repulsed the first Taliban regime.

Sharing the same looks as his father and the recognisable brown woollen pakol headdress, Mr Massoud possesses a sharp intelligence and polite charisma.

During his interview at a large Austrian town house, where armed police stood guard outside, he said he was not embittered by the West’s lack of interest in the Taliban's opposition but added that the US and its allies should pay heed.

Therefore, did it surprise him that no agencies from any western powers had been in contact?

"Of course it is a surprise because if they think that they can trust the Taliban over the democratic forces," he said.

"It's like cleaning ISIS with the Taliban, then what are you going to do with the Taliban? It’s the same ideology and the same problem. It’s not going to work and will demoralise all our democratic forces who will then lose respect to the West."

    Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Russia in the 19th Century: Why Gendarmes were a special caste in Russia
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[HISTRF] On April 28, 1827, Emperor Nicholas I signed a decree on the creation of the Gendarme Corps, it fell to them to ensure the state security of Russia over the next 90 years.

“And you, blue uniforms, and you, the people devoted to them” - these Lermontov words from the poem, which is still included in the school curriculum, are remembered by the vast majority of Russians. He remembers and recklessly believes, imagining the Russian gendarmes as stranglers of freedom and soulless torturers, which is completely untrue.

Corps of gendarmes, the position of which Emperor Nicholas Isigned on April 28 (O.S.), 1827, was far from being as numerous and omniscient as one might imagine, if one is to believe the ideological clichés of half a century ago. Another thing - its effectiveness was great enough to create such a feeling. But something else is more important: as long as the reigning emperors had enough political will to resist anti-state societies, the Gendarme Corps had the strength, energy and ability to fulfill this will.

    "High Police" by Count Benckendorff
The document that laid the foundation for the existence of one of the longest-lived state formations - the Separate Corps of Gendarmes, was called very prosaically: "On the Establishment of Five Districts of the Gendarmerie Corps." It was this decree that was signed by Nicholas I on April 28, 1827, and the history of the gendarmerie corps begins with it. The five districts of the corps referred to in the decree were distributed as follows: the first district included St. Petersburg and all the northwestern provinces of Russia, the second - Moscow and most of the central provinces, the third - Vitebsk province and all of Belarus, the fourth - the Kiev province and all of Ukraine, and the fifth - the rest of Russia, together with Siberia and the Caucasus.

It should not be surprising that the districts were so unevenly distributed. The reason for the creation of the Corps of Gendarmes, which in name was a purely military organization, but in fact a political police, was the Decembrist uprising in 1825 . Until that time, the concept of "gendarme" in Russia existed in its direct meaning - the military police, whose functions were limited to overseeing the observance of order in the army in wartime and peacetime. But after a speech on Senate Square and the existence of secret societies, the basis of which were officers, was revealed, Emperor Nicholas I realized that officers needed not just control, but political control. And it was hard to find a better tool than gendarmes for this.

The chronology of events looked like this. On June 25 (O.S.), 1826, the position of chief of the gendarmes was established, to which Lieutenant General Alexander Benkendorf , the man who led the investigation into the case of the Decembrists, was appointed. Actually, he owned the idea of creating a special, higher police under the leadership of an inspector of the gendarme corps, and Emperor Nikolai Alexandrovich rightly judged that the author should put his ideas into practice. But Alexander Benckendorff did not get off with the post of chief of the gendarmes alone: he also had to become the head of the III department of his own imperial majesty's chancellery, which quickly became famous.

It was the third branch that became one of the two governing bodies in relation to the Gendarme Corps. It determined all the political and investigative activities of the gendarmes, while military and economic issues remained under the jurisdiction of the War Ministry - so to speak, from the old memory.

Gendarme - work for the elite
If we return to the prevailing idea of the gendarmes as narrow-minded, poorly educated and despised in society, we will have to admit that such a view is completely untrue. Perhaps it is fair, and even then partly, only the opinion that their fellow gendarmes really did not cause much sympathy among army officers. And this is easily explained: the first and for several decades the main object of observation for the Corps of Gendarmes was just the military. This was partly due to the fact that it was the military who were the organizers of the first anti-state conspiracy in the history of the Russian Empire, and partly to the fact that not everyone could get into the number of officers of the gendarmerie corps, and these few lucky ones quickly became untrue fame of careerists and experts in undercover intrigues.

The latter, if it was true, was only in relation to the gendarmes of the later time, when after 1880 they were transferred from subordination to the Third Division to subordination to the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Empire.

As contemporaries testify, then it was possible to get into the number of candidates for filling vacancies in the Separate Corps of Gendarmes (such a name became official since 1836) only through patronage, and at a very high level. And at first, it was enough for the candidate to meet a not too wide set of fairly simple conditions. It must be admitted that there were not too many such people in the Russian army. After all, the applicant for the blue uniform had to be at least 25 years old, to graduate from the cadet or military school in the first category, serve in the army or guards (there were also guards gendarmerie units) for at least six years and not have debts. The last point may seem strange, but in reality it was completely logical: the debtor was dependent on who he owed money to, and this could significantly affect his impartiality.

Was this enough to become a gendarme? No! Because the whole set of requirements determined only the possibility of applying for a place in the gendarmerie corps. After the officer filed the corresponding petition, he was carefully checked by future colleagues for possible "defamatory connections" and unreliability. Then, if everything went well, the applicant was seconded to the headquarters of the gendarme district for a period of two to four months, so that his skills and abilities, level of education and moral qualities could be assessed there.

And only after the officer received a positive review following the results of this internship, he was ... allowed to test! These examinations were held at the headquarters of the Gendarme Corps, and if the applicant successfully passed them, he took one more step towards the desired goal: he was included in the list of candidates.

Those on this list, as new vacancies appeared, were called to St. Petersburg, where they were to undergo four-month special courses. The list of subjects that were taught to the students of these courses is quite remarkable. It included not only jurisprudence, Russian history, geography and political economy, but also, for example, literature, as well as the subject "History of the Great French Revolution" (for obvious reasons). After studying, the candidates passed the final exams and received places in direct proportion to how well they passed the exams. And already in the new place they started practical training under the guidance of an experienced colleague, who was assigned to the newcomer by order and shared with him the responsibility for the successful development of new knowledge. By the way, not all officers who have passed this multi-stage sieve,

    Loyalty Test
Is it any wonder that with such a cruel selection, the number of officers who entered the service in the Separate Corps of Gendarmes was very small. For example, according to the data for 1871, cited by the historian Igor Zimin, out of 142 who applied for transfer to the corps, only 21 people were selected, of which only six were eventually allowed to take courses. However, the very number of gendarmerie officers was very small: at the beginning of the history of the Gendarmes Corps, it was about 350 people, by 1873 it reached 486 generals and officers, and in 1880, when the corps was reformed, it increased slightly - up to 521 generals and officers.

But there were an order of magnitude more non-commissioned officers and lower ranks in the Gendarme Corps - about 6,000-7,000 people. And it was they who were much more visible than their commanders, because the junior officers of the gendarmerie corps were assigned duties, for example, to escort the arrested, to ensure order in places, as they would say today, of a mass congestion of people, and as the transport network developed, and on the railway. And if there were courses for officers that opened the way for them to the corps, then non-commissioned officers and lower ranks were given the opportunity to improve their educational level, having already entered the service. For those who wished, the Corps Preparatory School was opened in St. Petersburg, the main task of which was to prepare the gendarmes for the "conscious use of the duties of the service in the observation unit."

The gradual development of the revolutionary movement in Russia and the expansion of its base by involving in anti-government activities no longer representatives of the nobility from among the officers, but raznochintsy and even workers, significantly expanded the field of activity of the gendarmes.

The corps, created to control the social stratum that was close to the gendarmerie officers, was forced to urgently shift the focus of attention to social groups that had not previously fallen into the sphere of its interests. In addition, the socio-political predilections of the reigning persons also had a significant impact on the success of gendarmerie activities. For example, during the time of the more liberal Emperor Alexander II, the efficiency of the Gendarme Corps decreased, but when his son Alexander III came to power , it increased significantly.

But no matter what winds blew on the political Olympus, the gendarme officers themselves, and many non-commissioned officers and even lower ranks, performed their duties with all due care, demonstrating genuine devotion to Russia and its interests. Moreover, they did this, extremely rarely transgressing the brink of the law: for such a gendarme, a serious punishment threatened, and from their own colleagues, since a special 3rd branch of the corps was engaged in investigating gendarmerie crimes. Is it any wonder that even implacable revolutionaries were forced to pay tribute to their opponents. Historian Vladimir Goryainov gives the following example: in the collection of articles “Technology of the Bolshevik underground”, among the authors of which were such legendary underground workers as Avel Yenukidze and Vladimir Bonch-Bruevich,

However, even the Separate Corps of Gendarmes failed to cope with the truly massive revolutionary movement that swept Russia at the beginning of the 20th century. The forces were too unequal, the task was too great. And in the end, despite all the efforts of the gendarme corps, the October Revolution broke out . But here's what's interesting: from among the generals and officers of the Separate Corps of Gendarmes, there was not a single one who would agree to cooperate with the new government, and even among the non-commissioned officers and lower ranks there were only a few of them.

He was awarded the Order of St. George of the 3rd and 4th degrees, the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree, the Order of St. Anna of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th degrees, the Order of St. Stanislav of the 2nd and 3rd degrees.

February 1917 Kappel took even harder than the following October. From his point of view, the Bolshevik coup was a natural consequence of February. In his views, Capel was a staunch monarchist.

The number of the first volunteer units in Samara - a couple of infantry companies, a cavalry squadron and a horse battery with two guns - was so insignificant compared to the advancing Reds that none of the officers wanted to command this detachment. Only Kappel volunteered. Taking this small detachment as a basis, he very quickly created the most combat-ready rifle brigade, which more than once successfully resisted superior enemy forces.

However, Kappel's fame grew thanks not only to military successes, but also to his character. Vladimir Oskarovich fought and behaved like a Suvorov: he ate with soldiers from the same bowler hat, lying in chains shoulder to shoulder with them, shot back from the enemy, endured all the hardships of transitions without the slightest indulgence. And the soldiers appreciated it in all ages.

At the end of 1918, during the unification of the anti-Bolshevik armed forces of the East of Russia, he headed the 1st Volga ("Kappelevsky") Corps. And in December 1919, already in the rank of lieutenant general, having taken command of the dying Eastern Front, he was able to save the army from encirclement near Krasnoyarsk and lead it to Baikal, albeit at the cost of his own life.

When the pendulum swung towards the Reds and the Whites had to retreat, Kappel's troops were used as a fire brigade. It was the Kappelites who over and over again held back the Reds, allowing others to get out from under fire. With continuous fighting, the Kappelites retreated along the railway, experiencing great hardships. Practically without ammunition, in a 50-degree frost, they made an amazing courageous transition from Omsk to Transbaikalia.

General Kappel is one of the most talented commanders of the White movement. He earned respect not only from his colleagues, but also from opponents. Kappel is an exemplary example of fidelity to the military oath, military duty and self-sacrifice in the name of the Motherland.

Vladimir Oskarovich was dying as a martyr. On January 20, in the most severe cold, his troops, leaving the encirclement, walked along the channel of the Kan River. There he fell into a wormwood, but he said this only a day later, when frostbite of his legs became a fact. There were no medical instruments or medicines, so the amputation of the feet was carried out without anesthesia with a simple knife. Despite the terrible pain that started gangrene and pneumonia, Kappel, gritting his teeth, continued to command. And in order to move on, he ordered to tie himself to the saddle.

The general fought to the end, until he finally lost consciousness. He died on January 26, 1920 near Nizhneudinsk.

For obvious reasons, the Kappelites did not dare to leave the body of the commander to the enemy, therefore, initially, having retreated, he was buried in the Chita Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky. Then the ashes were transferred there to the cemetery of the monastery, and in the fall of 1920, when approaching the city of the Reds, even further, to Harbin.

In 1956, by order of the Soviet Consulate General in Harbin, Kappel's grave was destroyed: the monument was destroyed, removed and thrown near the fence of the New (Assumption) cemetery, and the grave itself was razed to the ground. Only in December 2006, the remains of Kappel were again discovered and reburied in the Donskoy Monastery. So he returned to his homeland.

    Government Corruption
Finally: A Former Intelligence Official Who Declined to Sign the Hunter Biden Laptop Letter
    BLUF:
    [Red State] When I
    [Hoffman]
served at the CIA and we did not know an answer to a policymaker’s query, we asked our sources for more information in pursuit of more informed executive decision-making. Even as Mr. Morell was circulating the letter, then-Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe was saying publicly that the Hunter Biden laptop was "not part of some Russian disinformation campaign."

The letter I was being asked to sign clearly stated: "We do not have evidence of Russian involvement — just that our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case."

U.S. intelligence analysts needed more time to conduct forensics on the laptop and for the FBI to complete its investigation and unravel the details, especially the convoluted part about the computer having been found at a repair shop in Delaware.

But the email I received from Mr. Morell did not invite any further discussion or debate. The letter was a fait accompli. It was being passed around for signatures, not edits.

I’ve never been one to put my name to words someone else wrote on my behalf. Moreover, I was focused at the time on other, more important priorities: My wife, Kim, was late into her third year of fighting cancer, which would take her life in a few months. She entered hospice care a couple of weeks after the presidential election.

And so, I did not sign the letter and never responded to the email.

#1  A rather ominous, top-down and political perversion of the intelligence process. Perhaps there are other examples as well ?

#4  Dan Hoffman has some big ears (literally) - you'd think he'd heard something? *rimshot*

actually, more power to him if exercised some judgement and refused to join in.
