The Grand Turk
Turkey captures over 1,000 migrants during Eid holidays
[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
’s security forces captured over 1,000 "irregular migrants colonists" during the Eid al-Fitr holidays, the country’s interior ministry announced on Friday.

Ottoman Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya on Friday announced on X that from April 6 to April 10, Turkey’s security forces captured 1,177 "irregular" migrants colonists in over 30 provinces across the country.

"The captured irregular immigrants colonists were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Management and deportation procedures were initiated immediately," said Yerlikaya.

No information was provided regarding the nationality of the migrants colonists.

Turkey is a popular destination among migrants colonists from the Middle East and several central and southern Asian countries to relocate to or use as a transit destination to reach Europe.

Roughly 3.2 million Syrian refugees who fled war are currently residing in Turkey and have been granted temporary protection status, according to the Ottoman Turkish Presidency of Migration Management.

"As of 2023, there are 296,685 refugees and asylum-seekers in Turkiye, most of whom from Iraq, Afghanistan, the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran, and Ukraine," according to a January report by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) regarding the situation of migrants colonists in Turkey.

Thousands of migrants colonists brave the waters of the Aegean and the Mediterranean seas in boats in the hope of reaching the shores of Europe.

Turkey says it "has taken a certain position on irregular migration both by taking effective measures against irregular migration at national level and by actively participating in most of the activities regarding the identification of the problems, information exchange, joint struggle and cooperation on irregular migration at international level."

In 2016, Turkey and the EU signed a multi-billion euro deal aimed at containing a wave of migration towards Europe. Under the deal, Ankara agreed to stop people from traveling irregularly to Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and to accept asylum seekers rejected by the EU.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
IDF announces first aid convoy entered northern Gaza through new land crossing
[IsraelTimes] ‘Northern Crossing’ opens after army declares ‘next phase’ of humanitarian operations in Strip; leaflets reportedly dropped over Rafah urging Palestinians to help find hostages

The military announced Friday that the first convoy of trucks carrying humanitarian aid to Paleostinians was transferred to the northern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt"s Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you"d expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip via a new land crossing the night before, as Israel works to significantly ramp up the amount of assistance entering the enclave amid heavy United States-led international pressure.

The "Northern Crossing," located on the northern border of Gaza, was built as a part of a series of steps by the Israel Defense Forces aimed at improving the humanitarian situation in the Strip amid the ongoing war there. It is located near Kibbutz Zikim, defense officials have said.

The IDF said the aid was "thoroughly" inspected by authorities at the Kerem Shalom border crossing on the southern Gaza border before entering via the Strip’s north.

The statement does not specify how many trucks were in the convoy.

At the start of the war, trucks only entered Gaza from Egypt’s Rafah Crossing, with the IDF later opening the Kerem Shalom Crossing from Israel to the south of the Strip. More recently, the IDF has also allowed aid trucks to use a military road in central Gaza and enter via a crossing known as Gate 96.

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari Hagari said Thursday the new crossing was expected to handle at least 50 aid trucks per day, and will "enable more aid to flow directly to civilians in the areas that have been challenging for trucks to access."

The opening of the crossing came a day the military declared the start of its "next phase" of humanitarian operations in Gaza. The White House praised the Israeli moves, saying there was "good progress, but it’s still not enough."

Earlier Friday, the IDF and Shin Bet said the head of Hamas
...a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
’s internal security in northern Gaza’s Jabaliya was killed in an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
the day before. In addition to serving as a Hamas police chief in Jabaliya, Radwan Muhammad Abdullah Radwan, according to the IDF and Shin Bet, was an operative in the military wing of the terror group.

"Radwan gave orders to Hamas operatives and was responsible for directing armed gunnies to take control of humanitarian aid trucks in the northern Gaza Strip," the IDF said in a statement.

It added that his killing "degrades Hamas’s capabilities to attack and take control of humanitarian aid" in the Jabaliya area.

Another strike Thursday killed Hamed Muhammad Ali Ahmed, a commander in the Hamas military wing who was also responsible for internal security in Jabaliya, and another operative in the terror group’s Jabaliya Battalion, the IDF added.

The IDF also said Friday that troops raided a school used by button men in the central Gaza Strip, as part of an ongoing pinpoint operation against Hamas and other terror groups on the outskirts of Nuseirat. At the Martyr Ibrahim al-Maqadma School, just northeast of Nuseirat, the IDF said troops of the Nahal Brigade located and neutralized several heavy primed explosives that were hidden in the classrooms and courtyard. The IDF said the troops also located an observation post at the school that had been used by the button men. When the troops arrived, the operatives had already fled, according to the IDF, leaving behind some equipment.

Prior to the "targeted operation" announced Thursday, Israeli ground forces had not previously entered Nuseirat, though last month Hamas’s third-in-command, Marwan Issa, was killed in an airstrike in the area.

The operation occurred as Israel appeared to dial back the use of ground troops and shift from a wide-scale offensive to pinpoint operations. This was in line with US demands for changes to the way fighting is taking place amid international concern over the deaths of civilians in the Strip and claims of near-famine conditions.

Israeli officials have said that 18 of Hamas’s 24 original battalions in the Gaza Strip have been dismantled, meaning they do not function as an organized military unit, although smaller cells still exist. Four Hamas battalions remain virtually untouched in southern Gaza’s Rafah, and another two are in the central part of the Strip, according to Israeli assessments.

On Friday, the IDF reportedly dropped leaflets in Rafah’s Tel Sultan neighborhood, urging Paleostinians seeking refuge there to help locate hostages held by Hamas.

"If you want to protect your families and guarantee your future, do not hesitate to provide us with information about the hostages or those holding them," read the flyers, which show the names and photos of 35 hostages. The leaflets included a phone number that can be contacted via the Telegram, WhatsApp and Signal messaging apps. There was also a link to a website that displays similar information.

The IDF has made use of leaflets to encourage Gazooks to share information on hostages’ whereabouts throughout the war, as well as on the location of Hamas leaders, placing sizable bounties on the enclave’s arch-terrorists.

Europe
Germany arrests 4 teens suspected of planning Islamist terror attacks
[IsraelTimes] Teens’ plans allegedly included Molotov cocktail and knife attacks against synagogues and churches in the name of the Islamic State

Four teenagers suspected of planning Islamist terror attacks have been arrested in Germany, authorities said on Friday, with churches or synagogues as possible targets.

Three of the suspects — two girls who are 15 and 16, and a 15-year-old boy — come from various parts of the western North Rhine-Westphalia state, Germany’s most populous. They were arrested after a court issued warrants for them over the Easter weekend, prosecutors in the city of Duesseldorf said.

Separately, prosecutors in Stuttgart said a 16-year-old suspect is in jug on "suspicion that he was preparing a serious crime endangering the state."

The three detained in western Germany are suspected of having declared themselves prepared to carry out an "Islamist-motivated terror attack" and planning such an attack, prosecutors said in a statement. They didn’t specify how advanced the plans were, and said they couldn’t give further details because of the suspects’ young age and the ongoing investigation.

They are in detention pending possible charges of declaring themselves ready to commit murder and manslaughter and preparing a serious act of violence.

North Rhine-Westphalia’s top security official, state Interior Minister Herbert Reul, said the investigation was prompted by the 16-year-old girl’s suspected plans to leave Germany to join the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They"re really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they"re not really Moslems....
group.

Chats on her cellphone, in which possible attacks in Dortmund, Duesseldorf or Cologne
...the largest city in North Rhine-Westphalia and the fourth populated city in Germany....
were discussed but also churches and synagogues in her hometown of Iserlohn, led Sherlocks to the other suspects, German news agency dpa reported.

The young age of the suspects left Reul "speechless," with the minister adding it posed a "huge challenge for society as a whole."

Citing unidentified security sources, the agency reported that the teenagers hadn’t yet drawn up a concrete attack plan with a time and place.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people"s bad habits...
Germany’s biggest-selling daily Bild reported that the four youths were allegedly planning to carry out Molotov cocktail and knife attacks in the name of the Islamic State group.

The report added that the suspects were also weighing whether to obtain firearms.

Germany has been on particularly high alert for Islamist attacks since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas
...the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
war on October 7. Germany’s domestic intelligence chief warned that the risk of such assaults is "real and higher than it has been for a long time."

The country is also nervous about security breaches as it prepares to host the European soccer championships from mid-June to mid-July.

’DANGER REMAINS ACUTE’
Police had already foiled a suspected plot earlier this year. Investigators in January arrested three people over an alleged plan targeting the cathedral in Cologne on New Year’s Eve. Bild reported that the suspects were Tajiks acting for Islamic State-Khorasan (IS-K), the same group believed to have been behind March’s deadly massacre in a Moscow concert hall.

"The danger from Islamist terrorism remains acute," Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said at the time, describing the Khorasan offshoot as "currently the biggest Islamist threat in Germany."

Islamist gunnies have carried out several attacks in Germany in recent years. Two Afghans linked to IS were arrested in Germany in March on suspicion of planning an attack around Sweden’s parliament in retaliation for Koran burning
...One of the basic tenets of Islam is that once a Koran has been printed it is expected to last for all time, no matter how old, ratty, and smelly other, lesser holy books may become. Should it actually become necessary to put a Koran out of its misery there is a ritual that includes extensive charivari, featuring long drawn-wailing and head bonking, ritual wife beating, and the sacrifice of dozens of women"s noses and pubic lips. When the actual disposal has been completed there is a prescribed period of celebratory gun sex with the expectation of a minimum of two hundred casualties. Should actual infidels dispose of a Koran, Islamic custom calls for three weeks of rioting and a minimum of three dozen dead, which is a holdover from the days of Moloch worship....
s.

In October, German prosecutors also charged two Syrian brothers for planning an attack inspired by IS on a church in Sweden.

In December 2022, a Syrian-born Islamist was tossed in the slammer
Don"t shoot, coppers! I"m comin" out!
for 14 years for a knife attack on a train in Bavaria in which four people were maimed.

The number of people considered Islamist gunnies in Germany fell from 28,290 in 2021 to 27,480 in 2022, according to a report from the BfV federal domestic intelligence agency.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people"s bad habits...
in presenting the report, Faeser said Islamist extremism "remains dangerous."

Argentina’s Javier Milei tells Miami shul he has Jewish heritage
[IsraelTimes] Pro-Israel politician reveals his grandfather learned shortly before dying that his mother was a Jew, in latest Jewish-related development for the philosemitic Argentine president.
Probably half of the Latin world has a story like this buried in their DNA, given how many Jews in Spain and Portugal converted — or pretended to convert — in order not to be expelled (Spain 1492, Portugal 1493)… and then married their Catholic neighbours. A thought to chill the hearts of Jew-haters everywhere, because there are similar stories in the rest of Christendom and the Ummah, as well.

Report warns Iran could launch major drone and missile attack within hours
Clearly they didn’t — or haven’t yet. The article is time-stamped 9:59 p.m. Israel time, or 3:59 p.m. ET.
[IsraelTimes] US general meets with Israeli defense brass to discuss expected Iranian retaliation for alleged Israeli strike on IRGC members; Halevi says IDF ‘ready for any scenario’.

on Israel could come as soon as Friday, according to an American media report, as the top United States general in the Mideast visited for talks with the defense brass on military readiness amid the Iranian threats.

Citing two unnamed US officials, CBS reported the attack could possibly include more than 100 drones and dozens of missiles aimed at military targets inside the country, the officials said, while warning Israel would be challenged to fend off an assault of that scale.

The officials said it was possible Tehran may still opt for a smaller-magnitude strike in order to avoid a dramatic escalation.
Or, as Grom the Reflective predicts, they will do nothing directly, lest Israel’s response leaves Iran open to the mercy of its other enemies.

#10  I have no opinion on Dan Crenshaw — I don’t live in his district.

But for what it’s worth here is my take on that video: There are five Navy SEALs in Congress as of the 2022 election — sworn in in January 2023 — out of 80 military veterans altogether (there are 17 more vets in the Senate):

Elijah Crane of Arizona (elected 2022)
Reps. Morgan Luttrell of Texas (elected 2022)
Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin (elected 2022)
Dan Crenshaw of Texas (elected 2018)
Rep. Ryan Zinke of Montana (elected 2014).

Why did Chief Petty Officer’s brother target Rep. Crenshaw to demand support from instead of Rep. Zinke, also a retired SEAL, but who had four years of experience in Washington at that point instead of being a newbie? The Gallaghers’ desperation was legitimate — it sounds like the team was fill of personnel problems, and it got ugly and political to the point where President Trump felt it necessary to exercise his command authority — but based on the description in the video, Congressman Crenshaw reacted as badly as most people would to being browbeaten by someone who needed a favour.

#2  Depends. If it is a shorter range city slug crawl, M-4A3 definitely. Lighter and can carry more ammunition and it works perfectly well at 150-200 meters.
Long range fire like the trench warfare in Ukraine, definitely the SLR. Hits harder at longer ranges and I can keep ammo stored near me for resupply.

I Think I'm Going to Pass on 'Civil War'
BLUF:
[Hot Air] A reviewer at the Blaze seems to agree that, while it's obvious the president in the film is meant to be Trump, the film would have been a disaster if it tried to delve deeply into what was motivating the various factions.

It's all very effectively done: harrowing urban combat, menacing rednecks with "assault rifles," real-life Dunst-hubby Jesse Plemon in those red sharpshooter shades. If the point is "war is hell," consider it made. Although, there's nothing here Steven Spielberg didn't do better 25 years ago in "Saving Private Ryan."

And that better be the point, as the movie has nothing to say about our current political divisions. Take away the burned-out shopping malls and the assault on the Lincoln Memorial, and the "Civil War" might as well take place in Bagdad or Odessa.

Had Garland spent his $50 million budget on making the kind of libtard, death-to-muh-democracy fever dream that's been stupefying half of the country since 2016, he would've had a "Battlefield Earth"-level camp classic on his hands.

But over at the NY Times, Michelle Goldberg is pretty excited that the politics of the film are more recognizable than she expected.

Blond haired Aryan Jesse Plemon with his nasal spade on the trigger of an AR.

IDF jets strike 30 terror targets, Hamas rocket launchers and infrastructure in Gaza Strip
[JPost] IDF troops destroyed Hamas infrastructure, including a weapons storage facility, and seized additional military equipment belonging to the terrorist organization.

As IDF troops in the central Gaza Strip continued precise operations against entrenched targets, the military announced on Saturday that it had destroyed launchers containing ready-to-launch rockets aimed at central Israel.

Following sirens yesterday in the Sderot area, three launches crossed over from the Gaza Strip, which the IDF Aerial Defense Array successfully intercepted. IDF artillery responded by striking the area from which the launch was carried out.

Additionally, IDF fighter jets struck and destroyed three launchers containing 20 rockets that were ready to fire toward central Israel, the military reported.

IDF ELIMINATES HAMAS INFRASTRUCTURE
IDF troops also destroyed Hamas infrastructure, including a weapons storage facility, and seized additional military equipment belonging to the terrorist organization.

Simultaneously, during operations in Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, IDF troops used a drone to locate several armed terrorists operating in the area. An Israeli aircraft subsequently struck the terrorists, eliminating them.

The IDF also noted that, in a series of precise strikes, Israeli fighter jets struck over 30 terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip, including terrorist infrastructure, military compounds, and anti-tank missile launchers.

Biden's DHS Offers ‘Temporary' Amnesty to More than 15,000 Ethiopians in U.S.
[Breitbart] President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is redesignating and extending a temporary amnesty program to more than 15,000 Ethiopian nationals living in the United States who would otherwise be eligible for deportation.

On Friday, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for about 15,100 Ethiopians in the United States who can secure work permits, hold American jobs, and be shielded from deportation.
Cab Drivers United
“Temporary Protected Status provides individuals already present in the United States with protection from removal when conditions in their home country prevent their safe return,” DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in a statement:

That is the situation facing Ethiopians who arrived here on or before April 11 of this year. We are granting them protection through this temporary form of humanitarian relief that the law provides. [Emphasis added]

About 2,300 Ethiopians in the United States can retain their TPS designation and extend it through December 2025, while an additional 12,800 Ethiopians will become eligible for TPS to stay in the U.S. so long as they tell DHS officials they have been in the country since April 11 or before.

In addition, Mayorkas announced so-called “Special Student Relief” for Ethiopians who are in the United States on F-1 student visas, “so that eligible students may request employment authorization, work an increased number of hours while school is in session, and reduce their course load while continuing to maintain F-1 status through the TPS designation period.”

TPS was first created under the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1990 (INA) and prevents federal immigration officials from deporting people from countries that are designated as experiencing famine, war, or natural disasters.

Since the Clinton administration, TPS has been transformed into a de facto amnesty program as the Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, and now Biden administrations have continuously renewed the program for a variety of countries.

As Breitbart News reported, Biden has massively ballooned the number of foreign nationals residing in the United States without any immigration status except having TPS. Today, nearly 1.2 million foreign nationals are in the U.S. on TPS.

Secret letters written by Hamas boss who planned October 7 attack reveal Iran paid the terror group £200million
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Letters exchanged by Hamas leaders have revealed how Iran appears to have awarded at least £200 million to the Palestinian militant group since 2014.

One document, seemingly written in 2020 by a top official in Hamas' armed wing, Marwan Issa (Abu Baraa), and addressed to the group's leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar (Abu Ibrahim), showed a table of payments totalling $154 million from the Islamic Republic to Hamas coffers.

A second handwritten letter in November 2021 goes on to show the receipt of at least another $68 million and references to further expected payments.

The Israeli military, which allegedly uncovered the letters amid their operations in Gaza, told The Times they believe the documents prove Iran's systematic funding of the Hamas group prior to the October 7 attacks which prompted the outbreak of war.

They claim the money was transferred into Hamas accounts in Gaza via a complex system that sees members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds force (IRGC-QF) deliver huge sums of cash to Hamas contacts in Lebanon.

Once in Beirut, the money is squirrelled across the border by a network of money-changers using shell companies, crypto-currency, shipping transactions and various credit schemes to funnel the money to Hamas chiefs.

The documents detail how much of the money was paid directly to several top Hamas officials including Issa and Sinwar, as well as Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh and military commander Mohammed Deif, all of whom were implicated in planning the October 7 attacks on Israeli civilians.

But Israel and the US have targeted the Hamas elite and have also worked to dismantle the networks that continue to fund the Palestinian group.

Issa is believed to have died in an Israeli airstrike on March 11, according to the IDF and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

And though Haniyeh is sheltering from the IDF's bombs in Qatar, three of his sons and several of his grandchildren are said to have been killed in a strike in Gaza earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Saleh al-Arouri, another Hamas official marshalling the group from Beirut who was thought to be a key link in the money-changing chain, was killed in a drone strike in January.

Then on April 1, an Israeli strike on an Iranian consulate building in Damascus, Syria, killed 13 people, including Quds force generals Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Hajriahimi.

Zahedi is thought to have worked with al-Arouri to deliver IRGC funds to money-changers in Lebanon.

Mohammad Surur, a man said to be connected to Hezbollah facilitating payments to Hamas, was found dead near the Lebanese capital earlier this week.

For its part, the US has launched a battery of sanctions designed to cripple the money-changing network Hamas relies on to receive payments from Iran.

Financial exchanges in Gaza, an Iraqi airline and backers of Iranian-linked militias in Iraq were just some of the entities subject to economic freezes in measures announced in January by the US Treasury.

'Sanctions are just one of the many levers at our disposal when it comes to holding Iran and some of its proxies accountable,' State Department deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel told a news briefing.

The moves would have 'tangible impacts' on groups Washington blames for destabilising the Middle East, Patel said.

For example, he said, the US hoped blacklisting Iraq's Fly Baghdad airline and its chief executive would 'disrupt' the airline's alleged role in carrying supplies and personnel into Syria for the Quds Force.

Son of top Hamas leader is shot and killed by the Israeli army in his car during gun fight on the West Bank
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Israeli forces shot and killed the son of a leader of Hamas in the West Bank in an early-morning raid on Friday.

Muhammad Rasoul Daraghmeh was killed in the city of Tubas during a shootout with Israeli soldiers after they allegedly discovered automatic weapons in his car.

A second man also travelling in the car was also reportedly killed in the clashes.

The Israeli army claimed Daraghmeh had been planning attacks on Israeli targets but provided no evidence. It also said assailants hurled explosives at soldiers.

Hamas confirmed the death of Daraghmeh and his affiliation with its Al Qassam Brigades.

Daraghmeh, a local commander in his own right, was the son of Omar Daraghmeh, a West Bank leader who died in an Israeli prison following his detention after the October 7 attacks.

Photos from Tubas showed a white car with blown out tyres and windows, allegedly after an intense confrontation between Daraghmeh and Israeli forces.

In a statement, the IDF said: 'The IDF, Shin Bet and MGB forces killed Muhammad Omar Daraema [sic], the head of Hamas's terrorist infrastructure in Tubas, in a divisional operation in the Valley and the Valleys tonight.

'Muhammad is a central Hamas operative in the area and has been engaged in the promotion of significant terrorist operations against Israel in recent months.

'During the operation, Daraama shot at the forces who returned fire and killed him, the fighters confiscated many weapons found in his vehicle, including weapons and other military equipment.

'During the brigade operation, terrorists threw explosives and fired at the force who responded by firing, hits were detected.

'The forces eliminated another terrorist after he tried to attack them, arrested two wanted persons and confiscated weapons. During the operation, the forces uncovered charges planted under the axles with the aim of harming our forces.'

Also on Friday, after the raid in Tubas, dozens of Israeli settlers stormed into a Palestinian village in the West Bank, shooting and setting houses and cars on fire.

The rampage killed a Palestinian man and wounded 25 others, Palestinian health officials said.

The violence was the latest in an escalation in the West Bank that has accompanied the war in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli human rights group Yesh Din said that settlers stormed into the village of al-Mughayyir late Friday, searching for a missing 14-year-old boy from their settlement.

After the rampage, Israeli troops said they were still searching for the teen.

The Palestinian Health Ministry said that one man was brought dead to a hospital and 25 were treated for wounds.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said eight of the injured were hit by live fire from settlers.

The deceased man was later identified by his family as 26-year-old Jehad Abu Alia.

His father, Afif Abu Alia, said he was shot and killed but was unsure whether the fatal bullet was fired by an armed settler or an Israeli soldier.

'My son went with others to defend our land and honor, and this is what happened,' Afif Abu Alia said from a hospital in the West Bank city of Ramallah, where his son's corpse had been transported.

The attack was condemned by Mohamed Mustafa, the new Palestinian prime minister.

The Israeli army said it was searching for the 14-year-old boy, and that forces had opened fire when stones were hurled at soldiers by Palestinians.

It said 'hits were identified,' and soldiers also cleared out Israeli settlers from the village.

'As of this moment, the violent riots have been dispersed and there are no Israeli civilians present within the town,' it said.

U.S. officials, including President Joe Biden, have repeatedly raised concerns about a surge in settler violence against Palestinians in the West Bank since Israel's war with the militant Hamas group in the Gaza Strip began.

Rights groups have long accused the military of failing to halt settler violence or punish soldiers for wrongdoing.

How much is the humanitarian aid pier in Gaza costing the US?
To be fair, Israel adamantly does not want the thing, so it’s only fair that the Biden administration that demands it is also the one who pays for it.
[Jpost] The United States’s plan to construct a humanitarian aid pier in the Gaza Strip may exceed $200 million in cost, ABC News reported on Tuesday.

The cost of the project was leaked to the source by two unnamed officials privy to an unreleased initial estimate by the US Central Command.

The floating dock is expected to be 97 feet wide and 270 feet long. Aid will be screened in Cyprus before being transported by container ships to the floating dock. Ferries would then transport the aid to Gaza’s shores.

The minimum expected cost if at least $180 million, according to the report, but is expected to fluctuate as US officials finalize details of the project such as which countries and humanitarian organizations will involve themselves in the pier.

The report indicated that US discussions will also be held on how to protect humanitarian workers at the pier from Hamas, as the pier will operate only three miles offshore.

US MILITARY INVESTMENT
Six Army and Navy ships will also be stationed at the pier, which will involve some 1000 US military personnel. However, US troops will reportedly not be allowed to transport the aid to Gaza.

"No US boots will be on the ground," US President Joe Biden promised last month. "A temporary pier will enable a massive increase in the amount of humanitarian assistance getting into Gaza every day."

The project is reportedly scheduled to begin on May 2, allowing two million daily meals to reach Gaza.

Biden Unilaterally Cancels Another $7.4 Billion in Student Loan Debt in Latest Vote-Buying Gimmick
[Gateway] Joe Biden on Friday unilaterally canceled another $7.4 billion in student loan debt in his latest vote-buying gimmick ahead of the 2024 election.

"Today, President Biden announced that 277,000 more Americans will get their student debt canceled, bringing the total debt relief approved by the Biden-Harris Administration to $153 billion for 4.3 million Americans through various actions," the White House announced on Friday.

"The 277,000 Americans receiving this latest round of debt relief are borrowers enrolled in the SAVE Plan, other borrowers enrolled in Income-Driven Repayment plans, and borrowers receiving Public Service Loan Forgiveness. The Biden-Harris Administration fixed Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) and launched the SAVE Plan last year — the most affordable repayment plan ever. Already 8 million borrowers are enrolled in SAVE, 4.5 million of those borrowers have a monthly payment of $0, and over 1 million additional borrowers have a monthly payment of less than $100. And if borrowers took out low balances of loans, the SAVE Plan puts them on a faster path to debt relief after at least ten years of payments," the White House said.

Biden has used a series of workarounds to circumvent the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down his student loan bailout program.

Last year the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against Joe Biden’s student loan relief program so the Department of Education rolled out a workaround forbearance program to cancel $39 billion in student loans by counting non-payments as payments for a period of time.

Only it isn’t your typical forbearance program. Borrowers won’t have to pay back ’missed’ payments or make up the difference of ’reduced’ payments. No interest will accrue on any of the missed payments.

Eighty-Six House Republicans Vote for Warrantless Surveillance of Americans
[Breitbart] Eighty-six House Republicans on Friday voted against an amendment to require a warrant for surveillance of Americans’ communications.

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) proposed an amendment to the Reforming Intelligence and Securing America Act (RISAA), a bill that would reauthorize Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). Section 702 is a law that is meant to target foreign adversaries, but often surveils Americans’ private communications without a warrant.

The amendment tied at 212-212 in the House; a tie in the House means that the measure fails. Although Biggs’s amendment did receive support from a majority of Republicans, 86 House Republicans failed to support the proposal.

A warrant requirement is overwhelmingly backed by Americans. A YouGov poll commissioned by FreedomWorks and Demand Progress found that 76 percent of Americans support a warrant requirement, while only 12 percent oppose.

Only one member of House Republican leadership voted with the majority of the House Republican Conference on warrants requirements: House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN). Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), and House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) voted against the warrant requirement.

[Regnu] In January 1943, near Bryansk, employees of the USSR state security agencies destroyed a group of French who fought on the side of the Nazis. They tried to occupy one of the settlements. Such facts are contained in a declassified archival document from the Russian FSB, published by the Presidential Library.

On January 16, 1943, a message was sent to Deputy People's Commissar of Internal Affairs of the USSR Vsevolod Merkulov about the situation in the Bryansk region. The head of the 4th Directorate of the NKVD of the USSR, Sudoplatov, reported that on January 7, a group of French who tried to occupy a populated area was destroyed.

'No moral option' to continue blanket IDF exemption, haredi minister says
[Jpost] The haredi public must internalize that they will need to begin committing to national service, Interior Minister Moshe Arbel (Shas) said in a podcast that was published on Thursday.

The comment was rare, as ultra-Orthodox leaders have largely refrained from taking the side of increasing haredi service since a crisis over the issue broke out in February, when the defense ministry revealed that it was planning to overcome a lack of manpower by increasing mandatory and reserve duty, and not by drafting thousands of haredi men, who have enjoyed a blanket exemption.

The legal foundation for this exemption expired on March 31 and, according to a Supreme Court temporary directive on March 28, the state is now required to draft haredi men, and must provide by April a progress report on the matter. The court will hear the case of whether to make the directive permanent on June 2.

Quds Brigades launch rockets towards southern Israel

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. IDF kills 2 Palestinians, including Hamas commander, in northern West Bank clashes
[IsraelTimes] Army says Mohammad Omar Daraghmeh was a ’central Hamas
...a regional Iranian catspaw,...
operative’ in the Tubas area, was planning ’significant terror acts’ against Israel

Two Paleostinian button men were killed early Friday in confrontations with Israeli forces in the West Bank, Paleostinian medics and the army said, with the Islamic terror group Hamas later acknowledging one of those killed was a local commander in its military wing.

The Paleostine Red Islamic Thingy Society said another three people were maimed, including one who sustained serious injuries, during the festivities in the northern West Bank town of Tubas and the adjacent refugee camp of al-Faraa. The area around Tubas is a stronghold of Paleostinian gangs and the frequent target of Israeli military incursions.

Mohammad Omar Daraghmeh, the head of a local Hamas infrastructure in Tubas, was killed during an exchange of fire with troops, the Israel Defense Forces said.

Amid the overnight incident, Daraghmeh shot at troops from a vehicle, who then returned fire, killing him. Several firearms and other military equipment were seized from his car.

Daraghmeh was a "central Hamas operative" in the Tubas area and in recent months was working on "advancing significant terror acts against Israel," according to the IDF.

Hamas confirmed Daraghmeh’s death and that he was a member of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

The IDF said the second Paleostinian man, named by Paleostinian media as Mohammad Shahmawi, was killed when troops opened fire on Paleostinians who were shooting and throwing bombs at them.

Hamas said it mourned Shahmawi’s death, but did not claim him as a member of the terror group.

Since October 7, troops have arrested some 3,700 wanted Paleostinians across the West Bank, including more than 1,600 affiliated with Hamas. According to the Paleostinian Authority health ministry, more than 450 West Bank Paleostinians have been killed in that time. The IDF says the vast majority of them were button men or Lions of Islam carrying out attacks.

Caught on video: Moment the ex-SBU colonel's SUV detonates in Moscow was
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The moment the SUV of former lieutenant colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Vasily Prozorov was blown up on Korovinskoye Highway in Moscow was caught on video, Telegram channel “112” reported on April 12.

The video footage shows him approaching the car, trying to start it, and at that moment an explosion occurs.

As Regnum reported, on April 12 it became known that a Toyota Land Cruiser SUV exploded in Moscow, damaging two neighboring cars. The source clarified that the explosion occurred from an unidentified explosive device.

The owner of the blown up SUV turned out to be a former SBU officer Vasily Prozorov, who moved to Russia several years ago, and before that, according to him, since 2014 he had been collaborating with Russian intelligence services, transmitting information about the progress of the so-called “anti-terrorist operation” (Kiev’s armed aggression against the republics Donbass).

Prozorov’s assistant clarified that the life of the ex-SBU lieutenant colonel is not in danger. He was hospitalized with a leg injury

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case.

In February 2023, it was reported that Russian intelligence services prevented an assassination attempt on Prozorov, who had previously held a press conference exposing the activities of the SBU. In April 2023, Prozorov said that the Ukrainian special services had chosen the tactics of individual terror to work in Russia.

People, including Israeli leaders, have difficulty making decisions, taking responsibility - study
[Jpost] Research on decision-making has shown that when people are making decisions, they have to evaluate their options over time because they often don’t immediately know what to do.
Too many psych research projects are based on the responses of easily available undergraduate psych students, who tend toward an exploratory rather than decisive personality type. The decisive personality type (eg. engineers, business managers, the military) has a great deal of trouble not making decisions quickly.
Corresponding author and psychology Prof. Ian Krajbich, who studies the cognitive process by which people make choices, and colleagues led by Fadong Chen at China’s Zhejiang University and Hangzhou Normal University, asked 353 college-student volunteers to choose between patient and impatient alternatives – for example to receive $40 in seven days or $60 in 30 days, by clicking their choice on a computer screen while software tracked and recorded the movements of their mouse. In some cases, participants had to make their decisions in two seconds, in others they had to wait 10 seconds or had unlimited time before choosing. At the end of the study, participants earned money based on one decision.
With that subject base and base size, the results can be no more than suggestive. Re-do it with a thousand or more subjects from a variety of backgrounds — see how the results compare.

Trouble-Plagued USS Boxer Returns to San Diego for Repairs to its Rudder
[Times of SD] The trouble-plagued USS Boxer has returned to San Diego after experiencing a new equipment problem during its first deployment in five years, according to media reports.

The amphibious assault ship carrying elements of the Camp Pendleton-based 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit had left April 1 but is now docked at North Island.

The U.S. Naval Institute, a nonprofit military association, said the latest problem is with the ship’s rudder and repairs will take two to three weeks.

U.S. moves MORE forces into the Middle East to prepare for 'imminent' Iranian strike on Israel: Pentagon sends aircraft carrier that can intercept missiles to the Red Sea in warning to Tehran
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] The U.S. has moved more forces into the Middle East to prepare for what officials believe could be an 'imminent' strike by Iran on Israel that could spark a full-scale war.

The Pentagon is beefing up its presence in the region and the USS Dwight Eisenhower has been sent into the Red Sea in a warning to Tehran and to protect American personnel should the violence spill over, multiple reports suggest.

U.S. officials fear that hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles could be used in a retaliation for an April 1 strike on a building adjacent to the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei vowed retribution in the wake of the Damascus attack, for which Tel-Aviv has yet to take responsibility.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to respond with force to any assault by Iran, leaving tensions in the Middle East on a knife-edge.

Defense officials on Friday said they are moving 'additional assets to the area', hours after the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem locked down it's staff.

The USS Dwight Eisenhower would be able to intercept missiles and drones fired by Iran.

Former US ambassador, NSC official admits to acting as secret agent for Cuba, learns fate: DOJ
[FoxNews] A former U.S. ambassador to Bolivia and a National Security Council member pleaded guilty on Friday to secretly acting for decades as an agent of the government of the Republic of Cuba, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

A federal judge sentenced Victor Manuel Rocha, 73, of Miami, to 15 years in prison for working against the U.S. government for decades for communist Cuba in "clandestine intelligence-gathering missions."

"Today’s plea and sentencing brings to an end more than four decades of betrayal and deceit by the defendant," said Assistant Attorney General Matthew G. Olsen of the DOJ's National Security Division. "Rocha admitted to acting as an agent of the Cuban government at the same time he held numerous positions of trust in the U.S. government, a staggering betrayal of the American people and an acknowledgment that every oath he took to the United States was a lie."

Prosecutors agreed to dismiss more than a dozen other charges in exchange for his guilty plea, the Associated Press said.

Biden Treasury Dept official testifies 'any dollar' Iran gets in aid will fund 'violent' activities
[FoxNews] 'What we’ve seen time and time from the Iranian regime, is that they fail to feed their people and they put the IRGC first,' a Treasury Department official told the Senate.

The Treasury Department this week admitted that any funds sent to Iran directly go toward funding "violent" activities of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps "before it’s ever used for their people and humanitarian aid."

Sen. Tim Scott is now demanding answers from Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, after Deputy Secretary Adewale Adeyemo testified about Iran's use of humanitarian aid before the U.S. Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee on Tuesday.

Adeyemo testified in response to questions from Scott, R-S.C., about the "fungible nature of so-called humanitarian assistance."

"What we’ve seen time and time from the Iranian regime, is that they fail to feed their people and they put the IRGC first," Adeyemo said. "Any dollar they have will go towards violent activity before they deal with their people."

Adeyemo said that is "partially why almost none of the humanitarian money has been used for humanitarian purposes, because they don’t care about getting drugs and food for their people."

"In Iran, they’ve proven that any dollar they get, that they have direct access to in the country, will be used for the IRGC before it’s ever used for their people," Adeyemo added.

UN refugee chief says outflow of Gazans into Egypt would make conflict resolution impossible
[Jpost] The prospect of Gazans crossing into Egypt from the border town of Rafah to escape a military assault would make the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict impossible and cause an "atrocious dilemma" for the people fleeing, the UN refugee chief said on Friday.

Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR,) said "We must fervently do everything" to avoid such an outflow of the Gazan population. "Another refugee crisis from Gaza into Egypt, I can assure you... would make the resolution of the Palestinian refugee question as a consequence of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict impossible," Grandi told Reuters at UNHCR headquarters in Geneva.

Experts Recommend Calling A Hispanic Person 'Latine' If You Want To Get Punched In The Face
[Bee] BERKELEY, CA — Speaking from the heart of higher learning at UC Berkley, sociology experts have issued formal guidelines that Hispanic individuals should always be called the gender-neutral term "latine" if you want to get punched right in the face.

The term "latine" has gained popularity in recent weeks thanks in part to an article in Axios in which the author reportedly made up the term as an elaborate prank.

"Latinx is an outdated term, as everyone was making fun of us and giving us wedgies for using it," said Gender-Ethnic Studies Professor Edwina Skuzz, while holding a bag of frozen peas on her swollen eye socket. "Latine is the new official term for persons of Hispanic origin that will help you avoid offensive gendered language."

"Unfortunately, it will not help you avoid getting punched in the face."

"I dare you to call me 'Latine' one more time," said José Gonzales, a farmer in Ranco Encantada, as he pulled up his sleeves and prepared to punch our reporter in the face.

Critics are reportedly calling on the Latine people to "calm down," imploring them that violence is not the answer.

At publishing time, experts clarified that Leftists should probably stop talking to Hispanics altogether.

“As for the fate of the START Treaty and the agreement to replace it, it is as pointless to talk about this at this stage as it is about the prospects for resolving any other problems that have accumulated in the field of strategic stability by political and diplomatic methods,” he told TASS.

Bauer and Rose: Media shocked to find Americans don't believe them that America is as affordable as ever
Fifty minute video.
[JustTheNews] On this episode, Gary Bauer and Tom Rose discuss the double standards in media coverage of President Trump's abortion stance versus Joe Biden's flip-flopping, exposing the hypocrisy in the New York Times' narratives. They discuss the stark contrast in how the media portrays political shifts, with conservatives cast as cynical and Democrats as evolving.

Gary commends Trump's unparalleled contributions to the pro-life movement, including his Supreme Court appointments, and they debate the strategic nuances of winning elections to advance conservative causes. The conversation then pivots to the economy, where Tom and Gary dissect the Biden administration's misleading statements on inflation and the harsh reality of dwindling affordability for everyday Americans.

The duo also critiques the intelligence community's push for FISA legislation without essential reforms, questioning the balance between national security and civil liberties. They're unafraid to call out the failings of Republican leadership and the alarming nomination of an Islamist supporter to a high judicial position.

Tajik Foreign Ministry condemns the torture of those accused in the Crocus terrorist attack case
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Security forces must comply with the principles of international law in relation to those arrested in the case of the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall and remember the presumption of innocence and the prohibition of torture, the head of the Tajik Foreign Ministry said.
Those are American laws and customs. What are the laws and customs in the former Soviet Union?
He also noted that the information campaign launched after the terrorist attack creates a negative perception of Tajiks.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, on March 22, armed people broke into the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk near Moscow, opened fire and committed arson. The FSB classified the incident as a terrorist attack. As of April 6, 11 people were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the terrorist attack. According to official data, as of April 5, 145 people were killed in the terrorist attack. The National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) stated that those detained during the counter-terrorism operation in Makhachkala and Kaspiysk were planning terrorist attacks; they were found with automatic weapons, ammunition and an improvised explosive device.

So, what he's saying is that: unlike the psychotic EUropeans & feeble minded Americans; Russians understand who - or rather what - they're dealing here with.

US Navy Under Secretary Erik Raven on the AUKUS agreement
[FoxNews] The Navy has 49 out of 66 attack submarines necessary to meet their AUKUS requirements

U.S. nuclear-powered submarines are the crown jewel of American military might and key to deterring adversaries like China. The Biden administration signed a historic three-way partnership with Australia and the United Kingdom, known as AUKUS in 2021.

The agreement promotes deeper information and technology sharing between the three countries and the U.S. agreed to share nuclear submarine technology with Australia for the first time ever. Also a first; the U.S. will sell several nuclear-powered attack submarines to Australia.

But there is one problem. The U.S. does not have enough submarines for itself. Old subs are being retired faster than they can be replaced and the U.S. ship building industry is years behind schedule.

Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., who serves as ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, supports AUKUS, but is concerned how the U.S. is going to live up to its commitments to Australia.

"The intelligence couldn't be clearer... China is preparing for a war and specifically for a war with the United States," Wicker said on the Senate floor. "The AUKUS deal will help prevent that war from happening."

Wicker has been ringing the alarm for years on how the U.S. needs to build up its industrial base. Wicker inserted $3.4 billion into the national security supplemental to jumpstart the ship building base.

The Navy requires 66 attack submarines but right now only has 49. In total, the Pentagon is 17 nuclear attack submarines short of Navy requirements and needs to build 2.33 Virginia-class submarines per year to meet its AUKUS commitments on time.

The basic fact is this: Our defense industrial base is not where it needs to be," Wicker said.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News, U.S. Navy Under Secretary Erik Raven explained how the Navy is addressing the shortage. Asked why the submarine industry is so behind and backed up, Raven said demand for submarines has gone up five times in the last 15 years.

"While industry has been increasing its production, it's been challenging. And what we're seeing is they're not quite catching up to the demand signal, but we're doing something about it," Raven said.

Raven explained the U.S. Navy is partnering with private industry, state and local governments, community colleges and non-profits to recruit 100,000 Americans to work in the submarine industry.

"We're going through a generational change in the workforce at our shipyards and our suppliers. So we need to build new talent, bring in more Americans to work in the sector and also in supply chain. Covid was a significant interruption in our ability to do business," Raven said.

It is a modern day "Uncle Sam Wants You!" campaign.

Non-profit BlueForge Alliance has been tasked with helping the Navy hire 100,000 Americans.

Kiley Wren, the co-founder and chief executive put this as an appeal to patriotism.

"There are literally tens of thousands of opportunities over the coming decade and more for long term, family-sustaining generational jobs that have a really important purpose," Wren told Fox News.

"We have, high-paying, good wage, family-sustaining jobs. But the number one thing that comes up is purpose and the ability to serve your country in a job that you go to every day is an enormous sense of pride," Wren said.

Earlier this month, Admiral John Aquilino, U.S. Pacific Commander, assessed China would be capable of invading Taiwan in 2027. One way the U.S. stays ahead of China as the dominant Navy power is its submarines.

"Submarines have a unique role in securing the peace all around the world. Their ability to move unchallenged, through, through the seas, all around the world is an incredible asymmetric advantage. And the United States builds and operates the world's most advanced submarines," Raven said.

Asked about reports China is building a "Great Underwater Wall," to monitor submarine activity in the waters around China, Raven said he is not concerned.

"We have an incredibly capable submarine force that's capable of tackling any challenge that her adversaries may pose… our submarines are incredibly capable," Raven said.

Raven emphasized in order to stay ahead of China, the U.S. must have a strong submarine industrial base.

"These are good, dependable jobs with a long future. No matter whether you are an engineer, a welder, an electrician or an accountant, there's some role for any American who has an interest in helping us build submarines," Raven said.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israeli goes missing while shepherding in West Bank; bloody clashes erupt amid search
[IsraelTimes] IDF still probing circumstances of 14-year-old Benjamin Achimeir’s disappearance; at least one Palestinian said killed in al-Mughayyir as settlers, troops clash with locals

The Israel Defense Forces said on Friday that troops, including special forces, were working alongside police to locate a missing 14-year-old boy in the West Bank, as violent mostly peaceful festivities broke out in one of the villages they searched.

Jerusalem resident Benjamin Achimeir left a farm near the outpost of Malachei Shalom in the early morning hours to go shepherding and has not been seen since. The sheep returned to "Gal Farm" without him, according to police.

The chief of the IDF Central Command, Maj. Gen. Yehuda Fox and the head of the West Bank division, Brig. Gen. Yaki Dolf, were at the scene leading the searches, the military said.

Police and military forces were blocking roads in the area. The Shin Bet security agency was also involved in looking for Achimeir.

Malachei Shalom is located near the West Bank town of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah.

The circumstances around the boy’s disappearance were still unknown and the military was not sure if the incident was terror-related.

Amid the searches, settlers entered al-Mughayyir and clashed with locals, with the Yesh Din rights group reporting they employed live fire.

The IDF said that amid the searches, "violent mostly peaceful disturbances erupted at several points in the area," and that soldiers and Border Police worked to disperse them and get the Israelis out of the Paleostinian town.

According to the IDF, troops had shot up Paleostinians hurling stones at them amid the festivities, not settlers as Yesh Din claimed.

At least one Paleostinian was said to have been killed by gunfire amid the festivities.

The IDF said one soldier was lightly injured by a stone hurled at him.

Video from the town showed mask settlers throwing rocks, while reports said they also burned a number of cars there.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
The atmosphere is very tense in southern Lebanon
[Al Jazeera] Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for launching more than 50 rockets towards the northern communities in Israel.

According to Hezbollah’s statement, this comes as a response to the Israeli attacks on Lebanese towns and villages in the south.

The fact is that these rockets were launched towards an Israeli post in the occupied Golan Heights.

This hints at a change in the rules of engagement, though these changes are slow and a bit different from what we are used to in normal war.

The situation is very tense.
Good. Y’all should be very, very worried.
There’s an anticipation of an Iranian retaliation for the killing of its general in Damascus and what’s going to be the next step.

Everyone is waiting, and people were linking this attack today to what could be an attack from Iran.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Our Two New George Floyds Received Stealth Reparations Too
[ZeroHedge] Consider the latest two black deaths at the hands of police that the media are trying to turn into new George Floyds in this election year, Dexter Reed, who was killed after opening fire on police during a traffic stop in Chicago…

And Kenneth Knotts, who died after struggling with hospital police during a mental health evaluation in Dallas two years ago (this story hit the news this week because the video footage of the incident was just released).

"Confirmed Miscer" returns to show that both of these men received PPP cash: Knotts for nanotechnology research...

And Reed for "All other support activities for transportation".
Not stealth reparations, just simple Covid PPP fraud — and then they got themselves killed by the police. Tweets showing it all can be seen at the link.

Government Corruption
Texas farmers ask judge to block USDA from doling out disaster aid based on race or gender
[JustTheNews] “When natural disasters strike, they don’t discriminate based on race and sex. Neither should the Department of Agriculture,” request fr federal injunction says.

A group of white farmers in Texas is asking a federal judge to block the U.S. Department of Agriculture from using race, gender or other “socially disadvantaged” traits to determine who gets disaster and pandemic farm aid and how much, arguing the agency’s current administration of eight emergency funding programs is unconstitutionally discriminatory.

“When natural disasters strike, they don’t discriminate based on race and sex. Neither should the Department of Agriculture,” the group of farmers wrote in a court filing made public Monday.

The farmers, represented the nonprofit legal firm called the Southeastern Legal Foundation, asked a judge to issue an emergency injunction from the U.S. District Court in Amarillo, Texas, to stop any additional awards from being made on the basis of race and gender or other liberal standards.

“Enjoining USDA from using race, sex, or progressive factoring when administering the programs is warranted because Plaintiffs are likely to succeed on the merits of their claims that: (1) the programs, as currently administered, are unconstitutional; (2) USDA lacks statutory authority to run the programs in their current form; and (3) USDA failed to adequately explain changes in calculating payments when implementing progressive factoring,” the motion stated.

The farmers said the Biden administration has taken roughly $25 billion in disaster and pandemic aid approved by Congress for farmers in eight programs and devised a system to make awards based on race, gender or other “socially disadvantaged” traits. Such decision-making violates the Constitution’s Fifth Amendment and the Administrative Procedures Act.

“The Constitution promises equal treatment to all Americans regardless of their race or sex," the court filing also reads. "It also promises the separation of powers. USDA broke both promises through the disaster and pandemic relief programs challenged here."

The farmers said they can prove that “USDA gives more money to some farmers based on” race, gender or other factors never approved by Congress.

“USDA does this by first defining farmers who are black/African-American, American Indian, Alaskan native, Hispanic, Asian-American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, or a woman as ‘socially disadvantaged,’” the court filing said. “Then, it provides farmers who qualify as socially disadvantaged more money for the same loss than those it deems non-underserved, along with other preferential treatment”

The request for an injunction relies in part of the Supreme Court’s landmark decision last year banning racial preferences in college admissions. It even quoted from the high court’s declaration that “eliminating racial discrimination means eliminating all of it.”

USDA's program appears to be rooted in an executive order that President Joe Biden signed.

Lawyers for the plaintiff told Just the News they believe they have a strong case to win the injunction while litigating the larger case.

“Disasters don’t discriminate and neither should USDA. In fact, the Constitution prohibits it,” the lawyers said in a statement. “That is why our brave clients – a group of Texas farmers that includes three white men who received significantly less money in disaster relief funds from USDA than if they had been of a different race or sex – filed this case and are asking the court to stop USDA’s blatant discrimination.”

The lawsuit names the USDA and Biden Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. The farmers bringing the action include Rusty Strickland, Alan and Amy West and Bryan Baker, all of Texas.

Fifth Column
Bipolar ‘Reacher' Star Alan Ritchson: ‘Cops Get Away with Murder All the Time'
[Breitbart] Alan Ritchson, the star of Amazon’s hit show, Reacher, claims to be "very disturbed" that police officers can get away with murdering people "all the time" and are never held accountable for it.

The 41-year-old actor cast his accusation about lawless police officers in his interview with The Hollywood Reporter last week in which he made a series of admissions of his extreme views.

The tough guy actor has revealed his anti-cop sentiment in the past, of course. He raised eyebrows in August of 2020 by wearing a t-shirt calling for the arrest of the Kentucky Police officers who shot Breonna Taylor in March of that year.

Ritchson spoke about the Taylor shooting to the Reporter, calling it a "tragic case. But he went on to attack all police officers everywhere.

"Cops get away with murder all the time, and the fact that we can’t really hold them accountable for their improprieties is disturbing to me," the star of a show that is said to be a favorite of conservatives and members of the military.

"We should completely reform the way that we do it," he said of police work.

"I mean, you shouldn’t have to spend more time getting an education as a hairstylist than as a cop who’s armed with a deadly weapon. We should make it very hard for people to make mistakes or abuse power in our institutions," he said.

The claim that hairdressers require a more stringent educational process than police officers is dubious. Potential police officers have to pass numerous mental health evaluations, in-person interviews, and a long list of other requirements before they are even considered for the job. Then they must go through an academy training course and a probation period if they pass the training.

Further, more and more police departments are raising standards to include college courses, as well.

Ritchson made a number of other extreme statements during his Reporter interview, as well.

He called former President Donald Trump a "rapist," hinted that one cannot be a Christian and a Trump voter, called the Catholic Church a haven for pedophiles.

He also admitted that he got so depressed as his acting career was ramping up that he tried to commit suicide.

"Being bipolar has wreaked havoc on my life many, many times. I would wish it away if I could, but it’s so much a part of who I am now that I should celebrate it a little or, at least, accept it," he said.
I have lost all respect.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: April 12, 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

[Korrespondent] 22:35 The Czech Republic has found more than 1 million artillery shells for Ukraine, said President Peter Pavel. He added that other countries are also developing programs for the supply of shells to the Ukrainian Armed Forces: “Our initiative is not the only one; Estonia and Great Britain are developing a similar one; France has also spoken about this.”

22:06 Ukraine is consulting with partners about the possibility of providing additional air defense systems to protect the Dniester hydroelectric power station, Energy Minister German Galushchenko said: “This is important. If something happens to this facility, it will affect not only Ukraine. I hope Western partners will agree to provide necessary air defense systems. Consultations continue. Attempts to strike were repeated several times. This means that the enemy has a target."

20:59 Ukraine is now actively negotiating for two Patriot batteries and one Samp-T, Kuleba said: “All Patriot batteries, in the end, depend on the decision of the United States, because this is an American system. We know exactly where and what is located. There are currently active negotiations for two Patriot batteries and one SAMP-T battery." According to the minister, if there is a willingness of countries that have these systems to transfer them to Ukraine, then it would be “a matter of weeks.”

20:08 Minister of Infrastructure Alexander Kubrakov said that protection from drones is available at almost all Ukrenergo substations. He clarified that there are now several levels of protection for energy facilities, and almost all 22 substations of Ukrenergo managed to build second-level protection. However, this level does not protect against missiles - only the third level can protect against them. But there are no such facilities that have been fully built yet; they are in varying degrees of readiness, the minister added.

19:56 During his presidency, Trump believed that Ukraine should be part of Russia, Fiona Hill, a former official of the Trump-era White House National Security Council, writes in her book. "Trump made it clear that he thought Ukraine, and especially Crimea, should be part of Russia," the author notes.

19:14 The Russians shelled New York in the Donetsk region - at least one person was killed, one was wounded, said the head of the OVA Vadim Filashkin.

18:47 Commander of OK Pivden, Major General Andrei Kovalchuk, announced his resignation. He was appointed the new head of the Odessa Military Academy.

18:33 The EU Council has finally approved a directive that criminalizes violations and circumvention of sanctions, including against Russia. Punishment for deliberate circumvention of sanctions is provided in the form of imprisonment for up to five years.

18:18 The Cabinet of Ministers made a decision that will allow financing the purchase of electronic warfare for critical infrastructure facilities, Shmyhal said.

17:52 Air defense shot down a missile in the Krivoy Rog district of the Dnepropetrovsk region - as a result of falling debris on a private house, one person was injured, said the head of the Air Force Sergei Lysak.

17:36 The Russians attacked Konstantinovka, Donetsk region, wounding six people, the prosecutor’s office reported. Residential buildings, cars, and power lines were damaged.

17:29 The Russian Army launched an airstrike on the civilian infrastructure and housing sector of Sumy - according to preliminary information, three people were injured, the OVA reported. Non-residential premises, two administrative premises, and three residential buildings were damaged.

17:24 Zelensky said that he was in Chernivtsi and met with representatives of the World Congress of Ukrainians. We discussed how to intensify international support and maintain the world’s attention to Ukraine.

17:13 The General Staff reported that a planned rotation of units that have been performing tasks in combat areas since the beginning of the full-scale invasion is currently underway. At the same time, “a set of measures is being applied to strengthen the brigades that continue to carry out combat missions at the front.” This decision was made, in particular, after a revision of the number of certain units not participating in hostilities. The released thousands of military personnel were sent to combat units, the General Staff clarified and promised that “this process will continue.”

16:47 Russian troops attacked residential buildings from a drone in Berislav and Novoberislav, Kherson region, two people were wounded, OVA reported.

16:21 The Netherlands has allocated another 1 billion euros for military assistance to Ukraine and 400 million for reconstruction - in addition to obligations under the bilateral security agreement, Zelensky said following a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Mark Rutte. They also discussed the supply of shells for artillery, ammunition and air defense systems.

15:40 Energy Minister German Galushchenko advised Ukrainians to stock up on generators and power banks “to be prepared for any scenario.” At the same time, he added that “the energy workers will do everything you don’t need.”

15:34 The Russians fired artillery at the village of Kupyansk-Uzlovoy, Kharkov region, one person was killed, the prosecutor’s office reported. In addition, two people were injured as a result of enemy shelling. Monachinovka, Kupyansky district.

15:28 The Russian army continues a series of massive attacks on the energy sector of Ukraine. Moreover, this time the enemy is focusing on thermal power plants, central lines and hydroelectric power stations. It is their restoration that takes a very long time - from several months to years. About what Ukrainians should prepare for in the event of complete destruction of thermal generation, see the article Will Ukraine Have Light?

14:51 In Moscow, the car of former SBU officer Vasily Prozorov was blown up, his legs were damaged, Russian public pages write. Since 2014, Prozorov has collaborated with Russian intelligence services. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case under the article of attempted murder.

14:35 The International Energy Agency said that Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries risk disrupting global markets for petroleum products. In particular, shutting down damaged refineries or units for four to eight weeks for repairs “could mean significant damage” to Russian exports of petroleum products, the agency said, adding that “international markets depend on Russian exports of diesel, crude oil and aviation fuel.”

13:59 Prime Ministers of Canada Justin Trudeau and France Gabriel Attal said that Ukraine itself must decide how to defend itself and its people. They also assured that their countries will continue to provide financial, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support to Ukraine for as long as necessary. In addition, Ottawa and Paris promised to continue efforts within the framework of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.

13:36 There is no electricity in the entire deoccupied territory of the Kherson region, said the head of the Kherson GVA Roman Mrochko. According to him, this is due to the shelling of critical infrastructure in the neighboring Nikolaev region. The lack of light also led to breakdowns in the water supply system. Thus, the water supply network in the village of Tekstilny in Kherson experienced interruptions in the water supply.

13:11 General Director of the Yasno electricity supply company Sergei Kovalenko called on Ukrainians to save electricity daily during peak hours: “What can we do now? Save consumption during peak hours. And if there are many of us, it will work. Therefore - from 19 to 22 hours. Every day. Please save energy. Every day. All of 2024. Make it a habit."

12:48 Ukraine has returned the bodies of 99 dead soldiers, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported.

12:40 The Cabinet of Ministers has established an additional payment of 70 thousand hryvnia for military personnel and police officers performing combat missions on the first line, Shmygal said. A one-time reward will be awarded for every 30 days of completing such tasks.

The prime minister also said that the government has allocated an additional 3.88 billion hryvnia for the further construction of defensive lines. Of these funds, 1.7 billion are provided for the Kharkov region, 1.5 billion - for the Sumy region. Donetsk, Kherson and Nikolaev regions will also receive additional resources. In total, since the beginning of the year, the government has already allocated almost 30 billion UAH for the construction and improvement of fortifications.

11:57 In Belgorod, a drone hit the Gazprom administration building, Russian media write. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced two wounded, and the Russian Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of five drones over the region. Russian public pages also write that in the Rostov region the Novoshakhtinsky Oil Refinery was hit by drones - one of the downed UAVs fell on the territory of the plant.

11:46 Air Force Speaker Ilya Yevlash confirmed media information that Russia could hit the Trypillya thermal power plant with an X-69 missile: “This is an improved system of the X-59 version. Now it is being established what kind of missile it was, what its type was. Preliminarily, "Russia has used similar missiles before. These are fresh missiles, the parts of which were manufactured in 2023." According to him, Patriot "will most likely be able to withstand it, since it fought with more complex types of missiles, like Zircon and Kinzhal."

11:23 Tonight, a Russian UAV caused damage to equipment at one of the Ukrenergo substations in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Household and some industrial consumers were partially de-energized, the company reported.

10:55 British Defense Minister Grant Shapps does not rule out that London could send Ukraine its DragonFire laser weapon, capable of shooting down UAVs. Britain plans to put this new weapon into service with its army until 2027. But its prototypes may appear in Ukraine earlier, even if they are not 100% improved, the minister clarified. A feature of DragonFire is its low cost - the stated cost of a shot is less than 12 euros.

10:41 The death toll as a result of the Russian attack on the transport and logistics infrastructure of the Odessa region on April 10 increased to six - one of the 14 wounded died in the hospital, the prosecutor's office reported.

10:19 Great Britain transferred two minesweepers of the Royal Navy to Ukraine. They have already arrived in Portsmouth, where their crews are being trained to prepare for missions in the Black Sea, the British Ministry of Defense said. The department clarified that these ships cannot currently enter the Black Sea due to the terms of the Montreux Convention, but they will become a critical asset for Ukraine in its future coastal defense.

09:52 Russia is sending personnel of the Pacific Fleet, as well as the 11th Air Force and Air Defense Army, to the war in Ukraine, Ukrainian military intelligence reported. According to the decision of the command of the Pacific Fleet, rotations to Syria have been completely stopped, and all personnel are sent to the combat zone on the territory of Ukraine. We are talking about 2,000 Russian military personnel from the Primorsky and Kamchatka territories of the Russian Federation. About 400 more military personnel from the military units of the 11th Air Force and Air Defense Army, stationed in the Khabarovsk Territory, should join the 155th and 40th Marine Brigades, which are fighting in Ukraine. Some of the personnel from the military formations of the Russian Far East will be included in the new motorized rifle brigade, which is being formed in Voronezh.

09:14 Since the beginning of the year, Russia has fired 1,000 missiles, about 2,800 suicide bombers and 7,000 aerial bombs into Ukraine, reported Ukraine’s permanent representative to the UN Sergei Kislitsa. "The total explosive yield of combined air strikes on Ukraine during this period exceeds 9 kilotons. Only 3% of Russian missiles, drones and guided bombs hit military targets, while 97% hit civilian infrastructure," he added.

08:53 The Russians fired at the village. Verkhnyaya Pisarevka, Chuguevsky district, Kharkov region - a forestry building was damaged, two people were injured, said the head of the OVA Oleg Sinegubov. Another person was injured as a result of shelling. Great Passages, Kharkov region.

08:36 The General Staff announced the estimated losses of the Russian Federation as of the morning of April 12:

  • personnel - about 451,730 (+840) people,

  • tanks - 7146 (+9),

  • armored combat vehicles - 13,698 (+19),

  • artillery systems - 11,486 (+34),

  • MLRS - 1042 (+2),

  • air defense weapons - 755 (+1),

  • aircraft - 347 (+0),

  • helicopters - 325 (+0),

  • UAV of operational-tactical level - 9161 (+57),

  • ships/boats - 26 (+0),

  • submarines - 1 (+0),

  • automotive equipment and tank trucks - 15,339 (+41),

Half a million under arms. What threatens Russia with tougher mobilization in Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Mikhail Zakharov

[REGNUM] On Thursday, April 11, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law tightening mobilization rules. The document must be signed by Vladimir Zelensky, and then, approximately in mid-May, it will come into force.

There is no doubt that Zelensky will approve the innovations. Especially considering the fact that he recently reduced the age of those subject to mobilization from 27 years to 25 years.

After the adoption of the law, life will become harder for most male Ukrainians, and for many - shorter.

Firstly, all those liable for military service who have not yet updated their data in the TCC (territorial recruitment centers that perform the functions of military registration and enlistment offices) are required to do so within 60 days. Otherwise, the fine is 17–22.5 thousand hryvnia (from 40 to 54 thousand rubles).

Secondly, all men between the ages of 18 and 60 are required to carry a military ID. If it is not there or the data is incorrect, the person will be detained. TCC employees, police officers and border guards will be able to check the “military personnel”. In addition, without this document, Ukrainians who have gone abroad will not be able to obtain a new or renew a valid passport.

Thirdly, those who previously received disability groups II and III will have to undergo a medical examination again.

In addition, provisions on demobilization are excluded from the law. Now mobilized Ukrainians will not be able to leave the service after 36 months.

At the same time, heads of government bodies, deputies, employees of strategic enterprises and some media and cultural workers, in particular, the Traveling Circus of Ukraine, will be exempt from mobilization.

The law adopted by the Rada will not fundamentally change the situation in Ukraine, says Donetsk sociologist Denis Seleznev. Many norms, he explains in an interview with IA Regnum, were in effect before: for example, Ukrainian security forces required military ID from men even before the adoption of the law. At the same time, the life of draft dodgers will become more difficult - in particular, their right to drive a car will be limited.

Key norms for the authorities have already been adopted in other laws: the abolition of the status of “limited fitness” and the reduction of the conscription age to 25 years, Seleznev believes.

“The fundamental thing in the new document was the abolition of the provision on the demobilization of military personnel after 36 months. Moreover, against the backdrop of the fact that Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers are actively demanding that they be replaced on the front line.

For them, this light in the window went out,” notes the sociologist.

"SECOND CLASS SUMMONS"
Even before the law was adopted, Ukrainian authorities announced the need to mobilize approximately half a million recruits.

Now there are about 3.5 million potential military personnel remaining in Ukraine, military expert Vladimir Gundarov told IA Regnum. It is, of course, impossible to conscript everyone, since Kiev needs men not only in the army, but also in critically important industries and services, such as the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

“ To call up one mobilized person, it is necessary that six working people remain in the rear, who would ensure the normal existence and functioning of government bodies and enterprises,” the expert emphasizes.

At the same time, according to him, the Kiev regime has already “scavenged out” many combat-ready men. Denis Seleznev speaks about the same thing: the number of conscripts into the Armed Forces of Ukraine is steadily decreasing, the previous methods of conscription no longer work.

“ If in the first six months they mobilized 600–800 thousand people, then by August 2023 another 400 thousand. What they really count on is 200–240 thousand people a year, which allows them to cover losses, but not to build up the group,” — the interlocutor of IA Regnum is sure.

Surely things will come to a full-fledged conscription of women to the front. In the meantime, judging by numerous videos from Ukrainian cities, “robbers” grab men right on the streets and in transport, without regard to age.

“Motivation is very bad now. Everyone who wanted to fight has already left. And those who didn’t want to remain in the rear, they are caught,” says Vladimir Gundarov. “This will be a second-class conscription.”

"IT'S A TRAFFIC JAM"
Experts interviewed by Regnum news agency agree: tougher mobilization will not really affect the situation at the front. Yes, Kyiv can theoretically call up new soldiers to the front, but this will be “plugging holes” - they will not have time, they will not even try, to fully train them.

At the same time, they will be thrown into the most difficult areas where reinforcements are urgently needed.

It is impossible to assemble strike fists from such fighters for possible attacks. Moreover, Ukraine has a big problem with equipment and heavy weapons, military expert Anatoly Matviychuk tells IA Regnum.

“On the battlefield, infantry solves problems only when it operates in conjunction with aviation, heavy equipment, and weapons, which Ukraine does not have.

How will mobilization affect the situation at the front? It will only prolong the war. They will not be able to launch any counter-offensives,” predicts Matviychuk.

Russia will probably continue to use the tactic of grinding down enemy personnel, since it brings success at the front.

The identities of those killed during the special operation in Nalchik have been established
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Two people killed by security forces during a counter-terrorism operation in Nalchik were residents of Kabardino-Balkaria, investigators said.

As the "Caucasian Knot" wrote, on April 11, during a counter-terrorism operation (CTO) in a gardening community in Nalchik, security forces killed two people. Those killed were members of a cell of an international terrorist organization and were planning sabotage and terrorist attacks in Kabardino-Balkaria, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee said. The investigator reported that a criminal case had been opened regarding an attack on the lives of security forces and illegal trafficking in weapons and explosives.

The identities of those killed have been established, said a representative of the ICR department for Kabardino-Balkaria. “These are residents of Kabardino-Balkaria born in 1997 and 2004,” TASS quotes him today.

Let us remind you that the CTO regime was canceled on the same day. Residents of Volny aul and other villages near Nalchik said that in the morning they were awakened by machine gun fire and explosions, and some residents decided not to let their children go to school.

In Kabardino-Balkaria, the CTO regime was introduced for the first time since July 3, 2021. Then the counter-terrorism operation was carried out in Nalchik and Baksan, during which security forces killed five alleged militants.

Memphis police officer killed during shootout with teens, one of whom was recently released
[FoxNews] A Memphis, Tennessee, police officer and an 18-year-old male suspect were killed during an early morning shootout Friday – with the deceased suspect having been arrested last month with an illegal weapon and subsequently let go without bond, law enforcement officials say.

A second officer was also struck and is in non-critical condition while a third officer was grazed by a bullet during the gunfire. A second suspect, a 17-year-old, was also shot and is expected to survive, police say.

Officer Joseph McKinney, who joined the department in 2020, was shot dead when police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle at Horn Lake Road and Charter Avenue in Whitehaven, about nine miles south of Downtown Memphis, Interim Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn "C.J." Davis announced during an emotional press briefing Friday.

When officers approached the dark-colored sedan, they were fired upon by the two suspects inside the vehicle, Davis said.

Police immediately returned fire and the pair sped off in the car only to stop a short time later in the area of the 400 block of Hewlitt Road as officers gave chase.

One of the suspects was immediately apprehended while the other ran off but was later caught nearby, Davis said.

The suspects were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition and the 18-year-old was later pronounced dead, Davis said. The pair have not been identified.

She said that McKinney was also struck and succumbed to his injuries.

A statement from the Iran-backed terror group claiming responsibility for the rocket fire on the Galilee Panhandle said Hezbollah operatives launched dozens of Katyushas at Israel Defense Forces artillery positions in northern Israel.

The military said around 40 rockets were launched, some of which were intercepted, while others impacted open areas or fell short in Lebanon.

There were no reports of injuries in the attack.

The IDF also said air defenses shot down two explosive-laden drones launched by Hezbollah at northern Israel.

Sirens sounded amid the incident, including as a result of falling shrapnel from the interception.

Hezbollah also fired several projectiles from Lebanon at the Upper Galilee earlier in the day, which, according to the IDF, caused no injuries.

The IDF said it also shelled the launch sites.

The attacks Friday evening came not long after the IDF said it struck several buildings used by Hezbollah, where operatives were gathered, in southern Lebanon’s Ayta ash-Shab.

Another building belonging to the terror group in Taybeh was also hit, the IDF added.

Hezbollah has named 273 members who have been killed by Israel during the ongoing skirmishes, mostly in Lebanon, but some also in Syria. In Lebanon, another 53 operatives from other terror groups, a Lebanese soldier and at least 60 civilians, three of whom were journalists, have been killed.
