Arabia
Saudi Prince Not Pleased with Champ's Agreement
Unexpectedly. Will Champ lecture him like he does the MSM?
Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan, a former ambassador to Washington, has said in an opinion piece for Elaph newspaper that the United States moved forward with the Iran nuclear deal despite predictions of the situation developing into a North Korean-style scenario.

In a column published by the London-based Arabic news website Elaph, the former chief of intelligence said the nuclear deal "will wreak havoc in the Middle East," a region already plagued by major conflicts.

President Clinton's decision was based on strategic foreign policy analysts, top secret national intelligence, and the desire "to save the people of North Korea from starvation," wrote Prince Bandar, in reference to the 1994 "Agreed Framework" between North Korea and the United States that aimed to freeze the country's nuclear power program.

The agreement finally broke down in 2003 when North Korea announced its withdrawal from the international Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and later declared it had manufactured nuclear weapons. The country now has as many as 20 nuclear warheads, according to Chinese intelligence.

President Clinton "would not have made that decision" had he known it was based on "a major intelligence failure" and "wrong foreign policy analysis," wrote Prince Bandar, nephew of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
One would hope you are correct, Prince, but when you're building your legacy or trying to get your roommate elected President, sometimes you do weird things.
But "President Obama made his decision to go ahead with the Iran nuclear deal fully aware that the strategic foreign policy analysis, the national intelligence information, and America's allies in the region's intelligence all predict not only the same outcome of the North Korean nuclear deal but worse - with the billions of dollars that Iran will have access to," Prince Bandar stated.
So how long will it take for Champ's deal to unravel?

#2  Another thing women are challenged at: climbing the 30 meters Pointe du Hoc ion order to destroy guns who could have converted the landings at Omaha Beach from bloody success to bloody failure. While the politically correctr is "waht was needed was string persons" the fact is last time I looked the women's heavy weight world record for weight lifting is about half from the men light weight world record. In other words a man half her weight was lifting about a load tow times heavier. In other words there are hundreds of thousand men in the world who can lift a heavier load than the woman world record.

So for climbing Piinte du Hoc, thousands of Americans could have with due trining climbed it. How many woimen? How many womenin the whole United States who in addition to climbing Pointe du Hoc could have met basic military requirements like being ablte to run fast, walk 40 miles ijn day (Wight lifters can't) and shoot reasonably straight?

And if landings at Omaha Beacjh had failed the whole D-Day would have been a failure and another landing would have been need in 1945...

Wisconsin Supreme Court orders end to investigation into GOP presidential hopeful Walker
HT to Insty and Gabriel Malor. The WI Dems ran a criminal enterprise via the State's Prosecuto, handpicked corrupt Judge and Milwaukee County DA John Chisholm. They all need jailtime and civil fines
The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Thursday ended a secret investigation into whether Republican Gov. Scott Walker's campaign illegally coordinated with conservative groups in winning his 2012 recall election

The court's action is a major victory for Walker as he pursues the presidency, though one expert said prosecutors could appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. No one has been charged in the so-called John Doe probe, Wisconsin's version of a grand jury investigation where information is tightly controlled, but questions about the investigation have dogged Walker for months.

The case centers on political activity conducted by Wisconsin Club for Growth and other conservative organizations during the 2012 recall, which was spurred by Democrats' anger over a Walker-authored law that effectively ending collective bargaining for most public workers.

Prosecutors accused Walker and the groups of illegally coordinating their campaign efforts in violation of state law. They denied wrongdoing.

Republicans called the investigation, launched by Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm, a Democrat, a partisan witch hunt. Wisconsin Club for Growth and its director, Eric O'Keefe, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit last year seeking to halt the probe, arguing the investigation violates their free speech rights. U.S. District Judge Rudolph Randa sided with the club but a federal appellate court later tossed out the lawsuit, saying the issue belonged in state courts

Obama: Extra resources for Iran's military due to deal not a 'game changer'

said on Wednesday it was likely that Iran would have more resources for its military and other threatening activities once sanctions are pulled back due to a nuclear deal, but he said it wouldn't be a "game changer."

Obama said Iran could potentially put more resources toward assisting the hard boy group Hezbollah. "Should we put more resources into blocking them from getting that assistance to Hezbollah? Yes," he said during a news conference.

Europe
"Subsidizing Scroungers" - The Germans knew how Europe would end back in 1997
[Zero Hedge] In 1997, Arnulf Baring (of the German-British family of Baring bankers) unleashed the following 'Nostradamus'-like prediction of how the euro would end (from a German perspective)...

"They will be subsidizing scroungers, lounging in cafes on the Mediterranean beaches.

Monetary union, in the end, will result in a gigantic blackmailing operation.

When we Germans demand monetray discipline, other countries will blame their financial woes on that same discipline, and by extension, on us. More they will perceive us as a kind of economic policeman.

We risk once again becoming the most hated people in Europe."

It appears that Arnulf pretty much 'nailed it'.

Sanders: If '€˜Cruel' Austerity Forced on Greece, the Nazis Will Rise
[PJ Media] Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) warned today that austerity measures in Greece could lead to a Hitler-style rise of Nazis in Europe.

Greek lawmakers approved a bailout plan today despite voters rejecting similar measures last week, sparking violent protests in Athens. They'll have to institute tax reform, pension overhaul and spending cuts to qualify for some $96 billion in bailout aid.

Sanders called the situation "a tragedy of enormous proportions."

"In the last five years, as a result of austerity measures, the Greek economy has contracted by 25 percent. Today, unemployment is 26 percent, youth unemployment is near 60 percent and 30 percent of the people in Greece are living in poverty," he said in a statement.

"Tragically, Germany and other European creditors are trying to squeeze blood out of a stone. Instead of providing an agreement with Greece that allows its economy to grow and create jobs, generate more tax revenue and eventually pay back their debt, Greek creditors have insisted upon even greater austerity: cutting jobs, making deeper pension cuts, increasing regressive taxation and privatizing important parts of the Greek economy."

The Democratic presidential candidate and self-described socialist added that "of all countries on earth, Germany, whose economy was destroyed as a result of the Treaty of Versailles and the harsh measures associated with it, should understand that a nation in deep depression should not be squeezed even more."
Sanders is more than a 'self described' socialist, he's a full blown communist. I believe we've seen the Nazi meme previously.

#2  "In the last five years, as a result of austerity measures, the Greek economy has contracted by 25 percent."

In other words, it is returned to the actual value of its productivity.

Why is that a bad thing?

And if they wanted more material stuff than the worth of their labor and were trying to finance it against a future time of more productivity, could they please give an exact date for that future productivity and factual evidence of how it will come about?

#4  Covet thy neighbors wealth, bear false witness, steal. Key tenets of socialism to which Sanders is an acolyte. To take something without intention of returning without the consent of the owner is still stealing regardless of the spiel of politicians.

Now you witness how socialists and plantation owners rationalize their behaviors of taking the product of labor, skill, ability of others for themselves without proper compensation.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
More than 50 IS Child Soldiers Killed in Syria in 2015
[AnNahar] More than 50 child soldiers recruited by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group in Syria have been killed since the beginning of this year, a monitoring group said Wednesday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said it had documented the deaths of 52 child soldiers, all under the age of 16, who had been part of IS's "Cubs of the Caliphate" program.

The program provides intense military and religious training to children throughout IS's areas of control in Syria, the Britannia-based Observatory said.

As many as 31 were killed in July alone, in kabooms, festivities, and air strikes by Syria's regime and the U.S.-led coalition.

The child soldiers are used to man checkpoints or gather intelligence from areas outside IS control, but IS has been increasingly using them to execute prisoners or conduct suicide kabooms.

So far this year, IS has used 18 children as jacket wallahs, most recently in its fight against Kurdish militia in northeastern Syria.

"This shows that Daesh is exploiting the suffering of the Syrian people," said Observatory head Rami Abdel Rahman, using the Arabic acronym for IS.

"When a child reaches the point of becoming a suicide bomber, this means that he's been completely brainwashed," Abdel Rahman told AFP.

The Observatory said it had received information on dozens more children killed, but that it could not confirm their deaths.

Since the beginning of 2015, IS has recruited more than 1,100 children.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israeli security forces arrest terror cell behind murder of Danny Gonen
[Ynet] Shooter, a member of the PA's elite Force 17 unit, incarcerated
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
after calling police and boasting of attack; four other accomplices also arrested.

Israeli security forces arrested the terrorist who killed Israeli hiker Danny Gonen near the settlement Dolev in the West Bank, along with four other suspects, it was cleared for publication on Wednesday.

The shooter was identified as Muhammed Abu Shaheen, 30 years old from Qalandiya, is a member of the Paleostinian Authority's elite Force 17 unit. He was imprisoned between 2006-2008 after confessing his intention to carry out a terror attack.

During questioning, Abu Shaheen confessed to the shooting and said he had collected intelligence before committing the attack. He also admitted to six other shooting attacks in the last year, including one in November 2014 in Al-Ram, in which a soldier was maimed.

The five were arrested about a week and a half after the attack, when troops raided the suspects' homes.

According to Sherlocks, there was no connection between the arrested cell members and the cell that committed the terror attack near Shvut Rachel, in which Israeli Malachi Rosenfeld was killed, or the shooting at an ambulance near Beit El. However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by...
the Shin Bet reportedly made new discoveries about those attacks over the last few days.

The attack took place on June 19, when Gonen and a friend were driving away from a spring near the Dolev settlement in the Binyamin area of the West Bank. A Paleostinian man signaled for them to stop as if to ask for help before firing at them from point-blank range, critically wounding Gonen.

The case reached a turning point when the Judea and Samaria District emergency center received a call from the attacker, saying he committed a terror attack and shot Israelis. The Shin Bet then traced the call, leading them to Qalandiya. One of the arrestees was Amjad Aduan, 35, who was previously detained for planning terror attacks. He is suspected of supplying Abu Shaheen with ammunition and served as a lookout at several shooting attacks.

The other suspects who were arrested are Asraf Amar, a 24-year-old member of PA military Intelligence, Fatah member Osama Assad, 29, who was released in the Shalit deal and is suspected of hiding the gun that Abu Shaheen used for the attack in his home; and Muhammed Aduan, 37, who has no history of security offenses, who is also suspected of hiding weapons for Abu Shaheen.

The terror cell belongs to the Tanzim militia founded by Fatah, which has been working to rebuild its infrastructure in the West Bank over the past year. These are young terror operatives, who do not answer to Fatah or the Paleostinian Authority.

[AnNahar] Kuwait's public prosecution has demanded the death penalty for 11 of 29 suspects charged over the suicide kaboom of a Shiite mosque last month, a newspaper reported Wednesday.

Al-Qabas, citing informed sources, said two of the suspects are currently fighting with the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
jihadist group which claimed the attack.

The June 26 bombing, carried out by a Saudi, was the bloodiest in Kuwait's history and left 26 people killed and more than 200 maimed.

Those charged are seven Kuwaitis, five Saudis, three Paks, 13 stateless people known as bidoons, and another person on the lam whose identity is unknown, the prosecution said Tuesday.

Twenty-four suspects are detained in Kuwait and the other five are to be tried in absentia, including two Saudi brothers who allegedly transported the explosives and are being held in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
Al-Qabas said some of the suspects were also charged with joining a "terrorist" organization fighting against the state.

Two of the suspects have been charged with premeditated murder and attempted murder.

Two others were charged with training in the use of explosives, nine with assisting in the crime and the rest with knowing of the attack without informing the authorities.

An IS-affiliated group calling itself Najd Province claimed the bombing and also said it carried out suicide kabooms on two Shiite mosques in Saudi Arabia in May.

IS considers Shiites to be heretics and has targeted them across the region.

20 militants killed in attack on security checkpoint in North Sinai: Reports
[AlAhram] Twenty bandidos bandidos bully boys were killed and 25 injured as security forces repelled an attack on a checkpoint in North Sinai on Wednesday, Aswat Masriya said.

The reported attack took place to the south of Sheikh Zuweid.

Jet fighters and troops on the ground repelled the attack, a security source said.

The army has intensified its anti-insurgency operations in the Sinai Peninsula since early July after Islamist bandidos bandidos bully boys killed at least 21 soldiers in simultaneous attacks on army and police posts in North Sinai.

The decade-long Lion of Islam insurgency in North Sinai has intensified since Islamist president Mohammed Morsi was ousted from power in 2013.

Hundreds of army and police personnel have been killed. The army has also announced the killing of hundreds of terrorists.

Not by force alone
[DAWN] There can be no two opinions on the relief afforded to the citizens of Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
, especially its large industrial/business community, by the Rangers' crackdown on forces of Evil and criminal gangs. A perceptible decline in street crime, including kidnapping for ransom and extortion, is conceded by all parties. But there is a limit to which use of force alone can eradicate lawlessness in a metropolis, to say nothing of its need for peace and order that could allow its citizens an environment conducive to the flowering of their genius.

The main issue in Karachi is its need for a political understanding between the provincial government and the city's representatives on the one hand and among the latter's various ethnic groups on the other.

Western Libyan army chiefs meet in Jadu
[Libya Herald] Senior officers from the Libyan National Army (LNA) in the west of the country as well as commanders from local brigades met yesterday in the Jebel Nafusa town of Jadu to discuss tactics to secure the Jebel as well as bring an end to all the various differences between communities and towns both there and in the coastal area.

The discussions were led by Colonel Idris Madi, formerly commander of the Western Operations Room based in Zintan but who now heads LNA operations for the entire west of the country including the Sirte district.

The location is seen as both strategically as well as symbolically important. Jadu has tried to take a neutral position in the conflict between Libya Dawn

It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar...
and the LNA but, as an Amazigh commnunity, is closely tied to Zuwara which has stayed firmly associated with Dawn.

The meeting had been planned to take place last week. Reasons for the delay have not been disclosed.

Arabia
Man blows himself up planting bomb in Bahrain
[ARABNEWS] A man accidentally went kaboom! as he tried to plant a bomb targeting police in a village in Bahrain, the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.

Several coppers have been killed over the past year in a series of attacks in the kingdom.

One officer was killed after a bomb went off near East Eker, south of the capital Manama, in July last year.

"A person killed himself in blast while trying to plant a bomb in East Eker. Bomb was meant to target police. Investigation opened," the ministry wrote on its Twitter feed.

The country, which hosts the US Fifth Fleet, says it has made strides in political reform and is increasing monitoring for abuses by security forces.

Bahrain freed prominent dissident Nabeel Rajab on health grounds on Tuesday, more than two months into his six-month jail term for insulting the authorities.

Manama hit back at US expressions of concern over the Gulf Arab kingdom's treatment of opposition figures on Wednesday, saying all its actions followed due legal process.

Bahrain's Foreign Ministry said in a statement the individuals were detained on the basis of criminal acts not political expression. "The government of Bahrain will not tolerate incitement to violence, and it is the government's duty to protect citizens, residents and visitors alike," it said.

Dems defend Planned Parenthood
[THEHILL] Democrats have been mostly silent on the issue as details continued to emerge Tuesday evening, when Planned Parenthood
...has received federal funding since 1970, when President Richard Nixon signed into law the Family Planning Services and Population Research Act. It is sometimes described as the gynecololgical wing of the Democratic party.
released 11 pages of attack points against the makers of the video.

The rapid rise of what has widely been called a "sting video" has surprised some Democrats on the Hill, including one aide who called the attention "unexpected."

When asked about Republicans' planned investigations into Planned Parenthood, Schakowsky said she wanted an investigation, instead, into the Center for Medical Progress, which she called "a phony company."
As opposed to an organization that is actively violating federal law over the use of aborted fetal tissue...
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), another prominent supporter of abortion rights, also dismissed the latest attacks against Planned Parenthood.

"They've been attacking Planned Parenthood for years," she said. "They've been calling for investigations for years, and they surface videos and they come on the attack ... and I think it's outrageous."

Lee also said she has not seen the video.
Nor will she...
Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.), who is also a member of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus, said she had not heard of the video and could not comment.

"I'll take a look at it, but I did not see it so I have no idea what's in it," she said.

The Tanzeem Ittehad-e-Ummat Pakistain claimed in a statement here on Tuesday that the fatwa was issued on its request. It said by banning offering of Eid prayer the Daesh committed an act of infidelity because "offering of Eid is wajib (an obligation) and preventing someone from offering a wajib is the severest atrocity... and in the light of Shariah Daesh stands expelled from Islam."

The statement demanded that the Iraqi government in collaboration with other forces should make foolproof arrangements for offering of Eid prayers in djinn-infested Mosul

Referring to a previous fatwa, the statement said the Jihad methodology of Daesh was un-Islamic.

"Daesh arrested 355 shop owners in Mosul after they refused to pay zakat to the group," said Saad Mamuzin, front man of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in Mosul, who lives in the Kurdistan Region since ISIS seized the city in June last year.

He added that ISIS had previously warned it would punish violators.

"Anyone who violates the ISIS decree is imprisoned by the group," Mamuzin said, explaining that detainees have been taken to unknown locations and their fate is unknown.

Villagers grateful to heroic Philippine soldier
[InterAksyon] A clash between the New People's Army and Philippine soldiers in Gingoog City Saturday afternoon left several women and children in Alagatan village traumatized.

Gem,who asked that her full name not be revealed, said, "My 4-year-old daughter kept on saying 'God help us, please God help us' while she cried. As the gunfight ensued, we thought we were about to die as we crawled on the bamboo floor. I held my two children tightly and just prayed for our lives with our neighbors who were with us.

"The frightening part was that the NPA rebels were hiding underneath the bamboo floor where we were. If the soldier on the CVO outpost had fired back, I am sure we would have all been dead. The soldier just shouted to [the rebels to] let the civilians get out of the house until the time he [the soldier] surrendered to save us," said another woman who survived the encounter.

From their accounts, it appears that Pfc Adones Jess Lupida, the soldier who avoided firing at the NPA militants hiding beneath the civilians' bamboo floor, was eventually taken by the communist guerillas as a prisoner of war. The residents said Lupida is their hero because he surrendered to save their lives.

Residents said there were 15 people, including five children and two pregnant women in the house when the incident happened. All of those who survived while hiding in the house said they were grateful to the soldier who surrendered to the NPA in exchange for their lives.

Greg, who requested that his real name not be revealed, said, "For us he is a hero, he exchanged his life for our safety. He could have killed several NPAs from his vantage point above the CVO outpost, but he did not fire back or even throw a grenade towards the house."

'You should know better': Obama scolds critics, press on Iran nuke deal
[FOXNEWS] President B.O. on Wednesday staunchly defended the newly struck Iran nuclear deal, using a presser to lecture critics and assembled media on the agreement -- even admonishing a news hound who questioned his resolve on U.S. prisoners left behind that "you should know better."

The president met the press as his national security team, and Vice President Biden, began to lobby skeptical politicians in Congress to back the agreement. Obama already faces bipartisan resistance to the deal, but on Wednesday challenged critics to present an alternative.

"I'm hearing a lot of talking points being repeated about 'this is a bad deal,'" Obama complained, speaking at the White House.

He said he doesn't expect Republicans to get behind the deal, but asked of critics, "What is your alternative?" Obama claimed the alternative is war.

Climate, Daesh top list of global worries
[ARABNEWS] Climate change is a big worry in Latin America, Asia and Africa, but the Daesh group spells more anxiety among Europeans and North Americans, a global opinion poll released Tuesday suggests.

The Pew Research Center in Washington said it interviewed 45,435 respondents in 40 countries to see what issues were most likely to keep them awake at night.

Sixty-one percent in Latin America identified climate change as their biggest worry, the highest proportion of any region, said Pew in a summary of its findings.

Concern was greatest in Peru and Brazil, running at 75 percent in both nations, it said.

Climate change was similarly the top concern for 59 percent of Africans surveyed in nine countries, with fear expressed most frequently in Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
(79 percent), Uganda (74 percent) and Ghana (71 percent).

In the Asia-Pacific region, a majority in half of the 10 countries surveyed identified climate change as the top issue, with the proportion running as high as 73 percent in India and 72 percent in the Philippines.

Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Count Guido had escaped from his bonds and overwhelmed his guard using the bludgeon the faithful Filomena had smuggled to him in the loaf of bread...
the Daesh group was the leading worry in Europe, where 70 percent expressed serious concern about the threat that it represents, Pew said.

Sixty-eight percent of Americans and 58 percent of Canadians felt likewise, and IS was also the top concern for a majority of respondents in South Korea, Japan, Australia and Indonesia.

Fear of Daesh was shared by respondents in the Middle East, where 84 percent of Lebanese, including 90 percent of its Sunnis and 87 percent of its Shias, said they were very concerned by the group's proliferation.

Sixty-two percent of respondents in Jordan and 54 percent in the Paleostinian territories agreed with that concern, Pew said.

Hafter delivers mixed message to politicians
[Libya Herald] Flanked by some of his top commanders, Armed Forces commander-in-chief, General Khalifa Hafter tonight delivered an ambiguous analysis in the wake of the UNSMIL peace accord.

Speaking in a broadcast presser, he touched on both the political and the military positions. He began by saying that the armed forces should be above the political process. They drew their legitimacy, he said, from the elected parliament.

However,
a clean conscience makes a soft pillow...
when he turned to the need to ensure national security, he added that politicians should be prevented from interfering in army affairs. He also said that he did not want politicians from going into combat zones and making statements to camera.

In the formal setting of a meeting room at his Marj headquarters, Hafter had commanders ranged along tables on either side of him. They included army chief of staff Major-General Abdul Razzaq Al-Nazhuri, Saiqa special forces head Wanis Bukhamada, air force commander Saqr Geroushi, Colonel Jamal Zahawai Commander of 21 Brigade, Colonel Mahdi Bargathi commander of 204 Tank Brigade and Colonel Abdulsalam Hassi commander of Omar Mokhtar Room for the East of Libya.

(ISIS) launched a coordinated assault Wednesday against Peshmerga positions in Khurmatu, 88 km south of Kirkuka. After several hours of intense battle the Death Eaters were repelled.

"The attack was launched at 00:10am in Zargah bridge and stretched across different areas and lasted till 03:00 am," said Ahmed Besheyi, Peshmerga commander.

According to Besheyi, the attack was coordinated and was launched from several directions, "But due to the well-positioned strongholds and the fighting will of the Peshmerga forces, the attacks failed to achieve any territorial gains or inflict damages," said the Peshmerga commander.

"The Death Eaters managed to reach the area by crossing the Rokhana waters using rafts from one direction, and on foot from another direction, but they were repelled and could not achieve their goal," added Besheyi.

Khurmatu was detached from Kirkuk and became part of Saladin Province in 1976 with a decree from the Iraqi government. The town is currently under Peshmerga control.

Macy's Takes it In the Shorts
Macy's is paying the price for sacking Donald Trump, because we've learned thousands of customers are cutting up their Macy's credit card in protest.

Sources connected to the department store tell TMZ, Macy's has received complaints from approximately 30,000 customers since ending its relationship with Trump nearly 2 weeks ago.

We're told the store has been "inundated with complaints" from customers who believe the department store is unfairly punishing Trump for his views on immigration.

Our sources say thousands of customers have vowed never to shop at Macy's again and many of them say they're cutting up their Macy's credit card to make a statement.

We're told the complaints have come in various ways, including phone, Facebook and email. A Macy's spokesperson would only say, "Our Facebook page is often times used by our customers to express their feelings or points of view. Many times it does not correlate to any action."
Leave it to TMZ to come up with the scoop. If you want to get the real news, don't bother with ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS or BBC.
Question for the Donald at his next presser: would you short Macy's?

They will bide their time and strike at the most opportune moment. Strike as they see fit. Like Tip O'Nell, he being the true power under Carter. The media will provide cover as well. This time I don't believe things will go as planned. Too many chiefs in the mix jockeying for power for their own groups. This is no longer a country united together for the betterment of all. Each group vies for power among their own.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Regime army, Hezbollah advance in Zabadani, rebels resist
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] The Syrian army backed by Lebanese ally Hezbollah has advanced deeper into the besieged Syrian city of Zabadani two weeks into a campaign to capture it from bully boys, Rooters said.

The control of the city, about 45 km (30 miles) northwest of the capital Damascus, is seen as crucial to consolidate government-held areas linking Leb and Syria. Zabadani is a former popular resort on the main Beirut-Damascus highway.

Activists said 5 Hezbollah bandidos forces of Evil had been killed on Wednesday, saying the dead of Iran proxy reached 75.

Bashir al-Assad army and Hezbollah captured the western mountains overlooking Zabadani last March but rebels who control the eastern hilltops have used rocket launchers to hit their positions.

Rebels have destroyed a rocket launcher set by Hezbollah in al-Zahraa citadel west of Zabadani, field sources said.

Hezbollah bully boyz and the army, aided by reinforcements, advanced closer to Zabadani's center under cover of heavy artillery fire and intense aerial bombardments of bully boy hideouts, according to Rooters.

Footage released by the Syrian army showed troops in the heart of the southeastern district of Sultani, the focus of street fighting. Rebels said some 500 families were still inside Zabadani and had taken shelter but the city was mostly deserted.

ZABADANI STRATEGIC GAIN

Its capture would be a strategic gain for al-Assad, whose army is battling on several other fronts with groups including non-jihadist rebels and hardline Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. myrmidons.

A victory over the rebels would also secure a corridor for Hezbollah to transport fighters and arms. The Shi'ite Moslem group's military role inside Syria has been growing steadily since the start of the conflict in 2011.

Rebels contacted by phone said although they had lost some ground in parts of the city in the last few days, they have so far repulsed advances deeper inside their stronghold.

"They have now secured what they want...any more advances would be very costly in human terms for them," said Abu Abdo, a field commander from the Ahrar al-Sham

bully boy group.

Around 1,500 to 2,000 fighters from Islamist groups including Ahrar al-Sham and al-Qaeda's Syrian offshoot Nusra Front alongside local fighters have dug inside the city that was besieged by the army even before the last assault.

The army cut an bully boy supply route from neighboring rebel held town of Madaya to Zabadani two days ago, part of a move to further tighten the siege around the city and to sever supplies to forces of Evil from outlying areas.

The Sunni Moslem rebels in Zabadani have appealed to their counterparts in the Ghouta suburbs of Damascus further southeast to escalate attacks to relieve pressure on them.

The area around Zabadani was part of a supply route for weapons sent by Syria to Hezbollah before the outbreak of the Syrian conflict, which has killed more than 230,000 people.

Afghanistan
Taliban leader Mullah Omar backs Afghan peace talks
The Islamic State having reared its ugly beturbanned head in Nangarhar, the Commander of the Faithful has decided to bury the hatchet for now and fight it out when the immediate danger (in the form of a competing Amir al-Moumineen) is dealt with.
[CNNPHILIPPINES] Secretive Taliban leader Mullah Omar
... a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. The imposition of Pashtunkhwa on the nation institutionalized ignorance and brutality in a country already notable for its own fair share of ignorance and brutality...
signaled support for Afghan peace talks in a message to supporters Wednesday (July 15).

"Concurrently with armed jihad, political endeavors, and peaceful pathways for achieving these sacred goals is a legitimate Islamic principle and an integral part of Prophetic politics," he said in a message released on the eve of Eid celebrations to mark the end of Ramadan.

The Taliban leader said he had ordered the formation of a "Political Office" that was "entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring and conducting all political activities."

"The objective behind our political endeavors as well as contacts and interactions with countries of the world and our own Afghans is to bring an end to the occupation and to establish an independent Islamic system in our country," he said, after explaining at length why negotiating with "infidels" is permitted by the Koran and actions of the Prophet Mohammed.

His message comes a week after the Afghan government held face-to-face talks with Taliban representatives for the first time in an attempt to work toward a grinding of the peace processor.

Mujahedeen told to stay united
Mullah Omar also sent an apparent warning to ISIS, the Sunni holy warrior group that has seized a swath of territory across Syria and Iraq, not to create a new front in Afghanistan.

"Since maintaining the unity of jihadi front in our country is a religious obligation, we have therefore directed all our mujahedeen to preserve their unity and forcefully prevent all those elements who attempt to create differences, damage this jihadi front or try to disperse the mujahedeen," he said.

His words come after ISIS published a long interview in its English-language propaganda magazine, Dabiq, in which a Moslem scholar argued that jihadi forces should back the self-declared caliphate of leader His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
over the "regional" leader Mullah Omar.

Insurgency rages
The Afghan government described last week's talks, hosted by Pakistain, as "the start of the first ever official peace talks" between the two sides.

Afghanistan's Caped President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
had been seeking dialogue with the Taliban with the encouragement of the United States.

But finding a peaceful resolution to the country's lengthy conflict will be challenging, to say the least.

As U.S. and other NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
troops are drawing down their numbers in Afghanistan, the Taliban insurgency continues to rage across wide areas of the country. The Lions of Islam attempted a brazen attack on the national parliament last month.

The U.S. combat mission in Afghanistan ended last year, leaving the Afghan military to lead the fight against the Taliban. The thousands of NATO troops that remain in Afghanistan are there in a training and support role.

Egypt foils suicide attempt against army outpost
[ARABNEWS] Egypt's military said Wednesday its troops foiled a suicide car kaboom targeting an army outpost on a highway between Cairo and the canal city of Suez.

The Egyptian affiliate of Daesh group known as the "Sinai Province" claimed the attack on a Twitter account affiliated to the group.

A jacket wallah driving an explosives-laden vehicle attempted to strike the outpost on a highway leading to Suez, the military front man said on his Facebook page.

He said the explosives-laden vehicle was destroyed and its driver killed.

The front man said the bomber tried to drive through a checkpoint and ignored warning shots, prompting soldiers to open fire, blowing up the vehicle.

"There were no losses among troops, and preliminary inspection shows that about half a ton of TNT" was used, he added.

Daesh has stepped up attacks targeting security forces since the army's ouster of President Muhammad Mursi in July 2013.

Most of their attacks have been in the restive Sinai Peninsula, but deadly attacks have also been carried out in Cairo and other cities.

On Saturday, a car kaboom struck the Italian Consulate in Cairo killing a passer-by and wounding nine others, in the first against a foreign mission since Mursi's ouster.

That attack came days after a car kaboom in Cairo killed the country's top state prosecutor.
Al Ahram adds this about the 5 a.m. attack:

Fatah Army launches attack on two Shiite villages in support of Zabadani: statement
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Fatah Army on Wednesday announced a major offensive on two Shiite-dominated villages in the northern province of Idlib after two years of siege, the rebel group said.

The new battle is in support and solidarity with rebels of Zabadani in order to ease two week of bombardment by Syrian army and allied Hezbollah militia on the Syrian border city with Leb.

The powerful alliance of Islamist groups warned in statement of Zabadani fallout as it happened to Qusayr town in May 2013, assuring the new battle on al-Fou'a and Kefraya villages is a clear response to the Syrian army brutality in Zabadani city.

Army of Fatah, a reference to the conquests that spread Islam across the Middle East from the seventh century, has seized swathes of territory northern Syrian since late of March 2015 including Idlib city, Ariha and Jisr al-Shughour.

On Wednesday, regime army backed by Hezbollah has advanced deeper into the besieged Syrian city of Zabadani two weeks into a campaign to capture it from Lion of Islams, Rooters said.

Rebels contacted by phone told Rooters although they had lost some ground in parts of the city in the last few days, they have so far repulsed advances deeper inside their stronghold.

"They have now secured what they want...any more advances would be very costly in human terms for them," said Abu Abdo, a field commander from the Ahrar al-Sham
...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014...

The control of the city, about 45 km (30 miles) northwest of the capital Damascus, is seen as crucial to consolidate government-held areas linking Leb and Syria. Zabadani is a former popular resort on the main Beirut-Damascus highway.

Congo looks to insect farming in fight against hunger
[ARABNEWS] There is no shortage of protein in Kinshasa's Gambela Market, from cows to antelope and snakes. But it is the blue and silver bowls brimming with twitching crickets, termites and slithering mealworms that do the briskest trade.

Experts hope that the love of edible insects in Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
may hold the key to tackling widespread hunger among its roughly 65 million people by scaling up a millennia-old consumption habit.

Six-and-a-half million people live in food insecurity in the giant central African country, according to the World Food Program (WFP), largely due to low agricultural productivity and persistent violence in its volatile east.

Edible insects, which are just starting to win acceptance in the West, have long been one of Congo's most popular dishes. Often served as bar food or on special occasions, they are grilled and commonly served with hot pepper, lemon and onions.

"This is the main food of Congolese," said Marie-Colette Bena, who sells clothing at the market, "I'm proud to eat that food." The average household in the capital Kinshasa consumes about 300 grams of caterpillar a week, according to a UN study but insect supplies can be seasonal and are generally more expensive than other types of food. In Kinshasa a kg of crickets costs about $50, more than twice the price of beef.

Congo's Environment Ministry and the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) hope to capitalize on Congo's affinity for the crunchy fare with a new programme to promote insect cultivation, a plan that could make them more widely available and bring down prices.

At least 30 dead in triple militant attack in Nigeria
[DAWN] At least 30 people were killed in three attacks by bandidos Lions of Islam in northeastern Nigeria, local officials and inhabitants said on Wednesday.

The three assaults were carried out simultaneously on Tuesday. In the deadliest, over 20 were killed outside Ngamdu, a local politician, Mohammed Sando, told AFP.

"Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
gunnies... yesterday set up a barricade on the Damaturu-Maidiguri highway just outside Ngamdu, and attacked motorists. They killed over 20," Sando said.

"They then moved to Ngamdu and began to set houses on fire. Last week they burnt almost half the vilage in a similar raid," he added.

Haruna Kabil, a bus driver, said a large number of people from Ngamdu fled their homes after the attacks.

"Some houses in Ngamdu were smouldering when I passed this morning. I learned from some passengers I took from Ngamdu that Boko Haram invaded the village in the evening and began burning homes after attacking motorists on the highway. They said that many people were killed on the highway, by the attackers," Kabil told AFP.

Near Baga, which is located northeast of Ngamdu, Boko Haram attacked residents who had decided to return home from Maiduguri, where they had been living in forced displacement since January.

"Yesterday, they chartered a lorry to (take) them to Baga. On reaching Garin-Giwa, which is just four kilometres from Baga, they were ambushed by Boko Haram gunnies who opened fire on the vehicle, forcing dozens of men inside to flee into the bush," said Abubakar Gamandi, head of the fishermen's union in Borno state.

"The gunnies however apprehended eight of the passengers and shot them in the head," he added. In Damasak, Boko Haram assailants set fire to the town and "opened fire on everyone they saw," said local resident Buba Ari.

"We are now going through the burnt area looking for bodies. So far we have covered five. "The attacks underlined the threat still posed by the krazed killers, despite the authorities' pledges to crush Boko Haram's insurgency and with a new regional force set to deploy at the end of the month.

Charges against Altaf
[DAWN] THE Muttahida chief is no stranger to making impolitic remarks. With legal troubles in the UK and a barely hidden confrontation with the government and security establishment in Pakistain, the party is under pressure, which has led to a number of unguarded, ill-advised public outbursts from Altaf Hussain
...think of the head of the Barzini clan, only in Urdu...
. In its defence, the party has pointed out on several occasions that the ongoing security operation in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
is unfairly and lopsidedly targeting its cadres. Indeed, this is a valid complaint, judging by the law enforcers' actions against the party of late. The most recent manifestation of this has been the registration of a number of cases against Mr Hussain in several cities across the country, after the MQM supremo passed biting comments critical of the Sindh Rangers' director general. The charges include waging war against Pakistain and committing acts of terrorism. Adding to the pressure, some of the MQM's political rivals, too, have jumped into the fray; the PTI filed an application at a Karachi cop shoppe against Mr Hussain for 'hate speech' against the armed forces, while on Wednesday both the PTI and MQM moved rival resolutions in the Sindh Assembly against each other's leadership.

The MQM's alleged links with militancy are no secret: it has been accused of a variety of crimes, ranging from extortion to assassinations, to the murder of its own leaders. As such, all criminal elements affiliated with the party must be apprehended and brought to justice -- and the same must be done to all Lion of Islam actors, regardless of their political and religious affiliations, whose violent tactics have spread fear in Karachi. But angry statements do not fall into the same category as militancy. They must be handled deftly and the response to them should not give the impression of a state-orchestrated action against a political party. This is not for the first time that attempts have been made, apparently by state-backed elements, to create difficulties for a particular political party. Our history is full of similar instances, but such efforts have largely backfired, often causing a rise in the popularity of the targeted politicians. If the state's actions strengthen the perception that the MQM is being victimised, it will only add to the ethnic and political divide within the province and hamper efforts to comprehensively tackle all types of militancy in Karachi and beyond. The state must stick to a broad-based strategy while conducting the operation, and refrain from demonising any one party.

Obama's Iran deal has just granted an amnesty to the world's leading terrorist mastermind
[TELEGRAPH.CO.UK] As head of the Quds Force in Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Qassem Suleimani is widely regarded as one of the world's leading terrorists. Now Barack Obama has effectively granted him an amnesty. Leafing through the more obscure annexes of President Barack Obama’s “historic” deal with Iran (page 86 of the annex, to be precise), I found that Mr Suliemani – as the White House no doubt now refers to him – has been granted an amnesty and taken off the list of proscribed Iranians – together with a number of senior members of the Revolutionary Guards.

Chinese police gun down three Uighur 'terrorists'
Much more on this story from yesterday.
[UPI] Chinese police on Monday gunned down three knife-wielding men they called "terrorists" from Xinjiang province. The men brandished knives and shouted jihadi slogans as officers entered their apartment in the city of Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province, according to officials.

After an initial retreat, officers called in reinforcements and cordoned off the building before returning and shooting four people who confronted them with knives and clubs.

Police say a 28-year-old woman assailant was injured in the encounter. She and three children were taken into custody. Another woman bystander was injured by police gunfire.

Security forces reportedly conducted the raid while investigating a group known as Hijrah Jihad and described the four attackers as "Xinjiang terrorists," according to a statement posted on a provincial government social media account and later removed.

Uighur rights groups have questions about the official police account.

Family disowns former blasphemy accused but not his wealth
[DAWN] The family of a wealthy old man, accused and later acquitted of blasphemy charges, has approached a civil court of Rawalpindi, seeking ownership of Rs127 million worth of saving and income certificates.

Seventy-year-old Dr Iftikhar Ahmed Sheikh was booked for blasphemy in December 2012 after a complaint was lodged against him by his nephew Usman Rashid Sheikh, at the Industrial Area Police Station. Dr Sheikh was accused of authoring books in 2001 with alleged blasphemous content.

Before his nephew lodged the complaint, Dr Sheikh had reportedly served a Rs5 billion notice to his nephew in a civil matter. Additional district and sessions judge Rafaqat Awan acquitted Dr Sheikh on February 2, 2013 from the blasphemy charges.

Following the acquittal, Dr Sheikh along with his family members sought asylum in the United States citing threat to his life as the reason, but his asylum case was not finalised as his children refused to go with him.

His wife, two daughters and son have now petitioned before the civil court in Rawalpindi, seeking ownership of saving and income certificates worth Rs127 million. According to the petition, Dr Sheikh is a millionaire with "different properties, cash deposits in foreign banks in US and UAE, and he owns regular income certificates and special saving certificates under his name".

The petition claimed that since his children and wife do not agree with Dr Sheikh's opinions, they refused to seek asylum with him anywhere as this would be akin to supporting his past blasphemous views.

Kurds volunteer to fight ISIS
[RUDAW.NET] The Ministry of Peshmerga in the Kurdistan region recently ended its recruitment campaign in Erbil, Duhok, and Suleimani provinces.

The ministry is planning to form two Peshmerga brigades consisting of 4,400 members. The recruitment campaign, which lasted for a month, recruited 3,500 only.

On the last day of the campaign, Rebin Abdulla, a graduate student, came to register his name in order to become a peshmerga. "I tried several times to get employed, but my attempts failed," said Abdulla.

"I was jobless and I did not have other options. I could either illegally go abroad or become a Peshmerga. Being a Peshmerga is a sacred occupation but I prefer to work in the field of my specialty," said Abdulla.

"I would rather sacrifice my blood to my country than abandon it and depart to Europe, what the youth does is wrong, they better serve Kurdistan," Mohammed Farouq, a Peshmerga volunteer told Rudaw.

The Peshmerga ministry consists of 16 brigades, each brigade composes of 3200 Peshmerga. The Peshmerga ministry decided to form three more brigades for volunteer Peshmerga, only two have been formed so far.

"These two brigades will alleviate the Peshmerga shortcomings, but they cannot be considered as a main backup force for a long-period in major battles against the enemy," said Bapir Kamala, member of the Kurdistan Parliament's Peshmerga committee to Rudaw. "I call upon the government to expedite preparing these two brigades and form the third brigade as well," he continued.

"The volunteer brigades are going to be trained directly by the United States of America (US), which will be sending experts for that purpose," said Anwar Haji Osman, the deputy minister of the Peshmerga.

Obama: Iran deal is only alternative to more Mideast war
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] President Barack Obama
If I had a son he'd look like Trayvon...
, seeking to sell the Iran nuclear deal to skeptical U.S. politicians and nervous allies, insisted on Wednesday the landmark agreement was the only alternative to a nuclear arms race and more war in the Middle East.

Obama made his case in a nationally televised news conference responding to critics at home and abroad after Iran and six world powers sealed an accord in Vienna on Tuesday to restrict Tehran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.

"Without a deal," Obama said, "there would be no limits to Iran's nuclear program and Iran could move closer to a nuclear bomb ... Without a deal, we risk even more war in the Middle East."

Obama, who must still overcome a congressional hurdle to enact the accord, said that if the United States does not seize the opportunity, "future generations will judge us harshly."

The agreement is a triumph for Obama, who has made outreach to America's enemies a hallmark of his presidency, but it is also seen as his biggest foreign policy gamble since taking office in 2009.

In his first public comment, Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said the deal should be scrutinized and legal procedures taken so the other side does not breach it.

Russia doesn't have the Romanovs anymore. The last sprigs of the family live in Paris and New York, as I recall, and seem remarkably unsuited to either reign or rule, though perhaps the younger generation has developed skills other than pretentions to the throne. Nor can I imagine Russia successfully enticing the head of the family to move back to Moscow, given the proclivities of the current ruler.

As for the abdication being legal or not, the fact is that the Russian branch of the family was slaughtered, so it was certainly a de facto removal from power, if not de jure -- and with centuries of historical precedent, both at home and abroad.

Caucasian terrorists recieve stiff sentences
[RAPSI] The North Caucasus District Military Court has sentenced a group of terrorists that were convicted of attacking a police station in December 2013 to long prison terms, the court's press secretary, Alyona Katkalo, said on Tuesday.

He said, "Murad Atayev and Shamil Abdulazizov were given life sentences, Ramazan and Vladimir Khalizov received 23 years and 18 years, respectively, Magomed Ibragimov will spend 19 years in prison and Shamil Gazimagomedov 17 years."

According to reports, on December 27, 2013 the Khasavyurt Sector, a terrorist cell of the Islamist militant group Vilayat Dagestan, blew up a car at a traffic police station in Pyatigorsk, a resort city in the Stavropol Territory, killing three people.
