Stalling Completed - Historic Iranian Agreement!
Well, at least the stalling phase is completed.
Both Rouhani and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif referred to the dispute over Iran's nuclear program as an "unnecessary crisis". Zarif said the deal was "not perfect for anybody'', but that it was the "best achievement possible that could be reached".
Didn't we say that about the 1994 North Korean deal? That turned out well...
Obama, who is trying to persuade a skeptical US Congress of the benefits, said it would oblige Iran to:
o remove two-thirds of installed centrifuges and store them under international supervision
o get rid of 98% of its enriched uranium
o accept that sanctions would be rapidly restored if the deal was violated
o permanently give the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) access "where necessary when necessary"

Sanctions relief would be gradual, Obama said, with an arms embargo remaining in place for five years and an embargo on missiles for eight years.

Separately, the IAEA and Iran said they had signed a roadmap to resolve outstanding issues.

In a televised address, Obama insisted the deal would make the world "safer and more secure", and provided for a rigorous verification regime. "This deal is not built on trust - it is built on verification," he said.
Trust but verify. Who said that, Champ?
Immediately afterwards, Rouhani gave his own televised address, in which he said the prayers of Iranians had "come true".

He said the deal would lead to the removal of all sanctions, adding: "The sanctions regime was never successful, but at the same time it affected people's lives.' After 12 years, world powers had finally "recognized the nuclear activities of Iran", he said.
Updates at 2:38 p.m. ET:
The Times of Israel has what is claimed to be the full text of the 159-page agreement here.

Netanyahu announced that Israel is not bound by the agreement here.

An Nahar has a round up of responses here, and points out that President Obama

...vowed to veto any Congressional effort to block the deal, reached between Tehran and the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany.

Interesting times, ladies and gentlemen.
Remember, Congress passed legislation that gave up the Senate's right to review the treaty and vote on it with a 2/3 majority. Now it takes a 2/3 majority in both houses to STOP it. The Pubs then will wring their hands piously.

Primary the bastards, every one of them.

#1  I wonder what the agreement says in Farsi and how it is decided 'when/where' the IAEA determines the necessity of inspections

#2  This is a serious $hit sandwich that is going to take major cleanup. All who voted for Mr. Obama have their hands dirty.

It'll be interesting to see what happens when:
1. PM Netanyahu decides to take matters into his own hands.
2. Obama VlaJar issues "go" codes to the US Military to wall off Israeli preventive action forces.
3. Many US Military commanders are, somehow, unavailable to receive said codes.

#3  just read thru some of this (annex on inspections)

-its true that the IAEA will get good access to DECLARED sites but for undeclared sites where the IAEA suspects activity, there is a multiple step process to determine access that could easily takes over 2 months

#7  All who voted for Mr. Obama have their hands dirty bloody.

But wasn't one of the conditions that Iran will not acknowledge the existence of any enriched uranium? What is 98% of zero again?

And asking IAEA to 'verify' is like asking Obama to watch your wallet.

Obama's legacy.

#8  Taken collectively, AFAIC the new Iran Nuke Deal is another way of saying that ... ...

> IRAN = indeed a future OWG Co-Superpower sibling + BFF/BFRNF of the US, + also ditto ala Putinist Russia + China [Other?].
> IRAN = will likely get "the Bomb" 2020 NLT 2025, the latter also being the time period when Amerika should be mostly or fully suborned under anti-Sovereign UN-based, OWG NAU.

AGAIN, OWG-NWO + GLOBALISM = PARITY WID THE US, NOT INFERIORITY AGZ THE US.

* BLOOMBERG = ... ...

> CHINA POSES GREATER THREAT TO INDONESIA THAN GREECE, KALLA SAYS.

D *** NG IT, iff the Bammer can surrender like France to IRAN, he can surrender like France as well to CHINA in East Asia-WESTPAC as per China-desired control of 1/2 of the Pacific for its own "Sphere of Influence".

POOR GUAM'S TINY CAMEL ROCK - WE HARDLY KNEW YE!

* LUCIANNE = .... ...
> [Independent.UK] IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL: HOWEVER THE GREAT OR GOOD REPRESENT IT, AMERICA HAS NOW [effectively = officially?] TAKEN THE SHIA SIDE IN THE MIDDLE EAST'S SECTARIAN WAR.

WHAT PART OF IRAN = OWG AMERIKA'S "US-STYLE", "US-PAR", CO-SUPERPOWER SIBLING DID WE NOT UNDERSTAND - AGAIN!?

> [Rush Limbaugh] OBAMA DELIVERS [unilaterally gives] VICTORY TO IRAN.

China? Russia? Other?

> [USA Today] IRAN CAN STILL GET THE BOMB.
> [Pajama Medias] OBAMA SIGNS IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL, SAYS BYE-BYE TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION.

End of Traditional or Historical Western = European domination of Civilization, Religion, + Histoire', ... @etc.

#9  OOOOOPPPPSSS, forgot JAPAN TIMES > NUCLEAR DEAL SEENS AS BOOSTING IRAN'S ECONOMY, NOT REGIONAL AGGRESSION.

True enuff, as FUTURE OWG "US-STYLE", "US-PAR", CO-SUPERPOWER IRAN badly needs to modernize its Military-Industrial Complex in support of such status.

Darth Vlad = RUSSIA is pretty much in a POST-MAHANIST STAGE of MilPol-Geopol Dev - IRAN + CHINA, HOWEVER, IMO ARE STILL IN EARLY MAHANIST STAGE OF DEV.

#1  FTA: there was a gap between male and female performance on the rifle range

This is curious. It is a demonstrable fact that your average man is stronger than your average woman, something that bears strongly (heh) on performance and standards. But why a gap in marksmanship? This is a skill that requires practice, but needs neither speed nor strength. The article attributes it to low expectations, but that's a management problem, something Germano seemed focused on correcting. So, WTF?

All you need to know is failure rate of females in the Infantry Officer Course: 100%. It has nothing to do with intelligence or desire.

#4  SteveS, It is proposed to be a trained, 'hand/eye' coordination activity in which many boys, such as those that join the Marines, have been engaging since childhood. Many can visualize pitching/throwing that pellet downrange to the target. Through studies regarding online and first-person shooter gaming it has been demonstrated that females have equal aptitude given enough time to 'spin-up', but 16 weeks of boot is not sufficient to fixate basal ganglia...

Africa Subsaharan
At Least 11 Dead in Twin Suicide Bombing in Cameroon
[AnNahar] At least 11 people were killed when twojacket wallah'> exploding trollop female suicide bombers blew themselves up near an army camp at Fotokol in troubled northern Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
, a local security source said Monday.

A police source in the region confirmed a double attack had taken place on Sunday but was unable to give a precise corpse count.

Northern Cameroon, like Nigeria, Chad and Niger, has been hit in bloody attacks by the Islamist group Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
The kabooms occurred 50 meters (yards) apart within a few seconds of each other, near a camp of Cameroon's Rapid Intervention Battalion, according to the source in Fotokol.

"I counted 12 bodies," including one of the bombers, the source said.

Cameroonian and Chadian troops, who are deployed in Fotokol under the program to fight Boko Haram, deployed around Fotokol "and killed an Islamist," the source added.

#4  Given that a couple of New York federal judges went the other way in similar cases, we're going to see enough conflicting case law that eventually the USSC will have to take a look. I fear the outcome.

For me it's easy: Congress and the Executive branch can't use "administrative hearings" and procedures to circumvent constitutional guarantees regarding counsel, right to confront witnesses, and examine evidence in an adversarial hearing in which there is an accuser and a defendant. Particularly true if there are penalties attached to the defendant, and even more true if the hearing is guided by a letter issued by a Federal bureaucracy with a desired outcome.

Canadian GardaWorld Security Buys Aegis Group For Expansion Into Africa And ME
[Feral Jundi] This is some big news. Both GardaWorld and Aegis are some big companies, and this is more sign of consolidation in the industry as the market compresses. The Iraq and Afghanistan wars have drawn down significantly since the hey day of contracting, and moves like this signal the latest strategies of the major companies--if they want to survive.

I first found out about Aegis shopping around for buyers from Intelligence Online. It has a paywall, but what little they said in the brief description is all I needed to know. As for GardaWorld, here is a snap shot from Wikipedia as to their size and status.
"Market compression" could be the reason for the merger. The need to disconnect from the name 'Aegis' may be another. OBTW, our old 'Foggy Bottom' Benghazi friends at UK's Blue Mountain Security have upgraded their website.

Scott Walker erodes college professor tenure
h/t Instapundit
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's trailblazing effort to weaken tenure protections at public colleges and universities is now a reality with his signing of a $73 billion budget on Sunday.

The effort has outraged unions and higher education groups, leaving them fearful that other lawmakers will follow suit to unravel labor protections in higher education that have long been considered sacred ground.
Maybe if you people didn't treat university tenured faculty appointments as your private club...

#3  Tenure will not protect a faculty member attacked by the PC police and thus is worthless. Tenure was a game to protect lefties before they had control, and now to protect lazies who just want to coast.

Either use tenure properly to protect uncomfortable idead or just admit universities are controlled by the brainwashed mob.

#5  Gov. Walker is quite impressive. He mentioned in his announcement speech last evening that his grandfather had worked at Barber-Coleman in Rockford, IL. He is undoubtedly aware of what has taken place with our industrial base in the last 50 years. This knowledge and the desire to do something about it, earns my vote.
Posted by: Besoeker || 07/14/2015 11:01 Comments || Top||

#6  Tenure doesn't mean much anymore--it is a dying institution. In the past, it was a protection for free speech and academic freedom. Today, even with tenure you can be fired for "cause." Cause is anything deemed a reason for firing by an administrator--often some violation of political correctness. Today, tenure is usually granted on the basis of how much research money you can bring to an institution. In the faculty evaluation scheme, federal dollars count more that dollars from industry or other sources. The academic tenure system today is similar to the system used for the evaluation of big time college football coaches; your contract is extended depending upon your win-loss record. Personally, I don't have a problem with Walker going after tenure; however, the current tenure system IMHO doesn't stand for much.

Attacks on France's Jews are surging
[Bus Insider] The number of reported anti-Semitic incidents in France the first quarter of 2015 has increased exponentially compared to the corresponding period the year before, a French watchdog group found.

The country has seen an 84 percent uptick in anti-Semitic hate crimes since four Jewish shoppers at a kosher supermarket in Paris were killed by an Islamist gunman after the Charlie Hebdo murders, theJewish Telegraphic Agency reported.

The watchdog, Service de Protection de la Communauté Juive (SPCJ), counted 508 anti-Semitic incidents between January and May this year, compared to just 276 incidents the year earlier.

Almost a quarter of those attacks were classified by the organization as violent. Most of the other incidents were reportedly death threats, JTA said.

Jewish leaders in France have grown increasingly concerned by the rise of anti-Semitism in their country in recent years.

According to New York Times Tehran correspondent Thomas Erdbrink, Iranian state TV has announced that the text of the deal has been completed and only needs to be proofread before the agreement can be finalized. State media agency Fars News also reported that the final document is around 100 pages long.

According to the Associated Press, the deal will be announced early on July 14th.

Seoul's National Intelligence Service told lawmakers that People's Armed Forces Minister Hyon Yong Chol was killed by anti-aircraft gunfire in May on charges of disloyalty to leader Kim Jong Un.

It is understood that the 66-year-old defence chief had talked back to Kim during a gathering of top ranking officials, openly complained about the dictator's policies and fell asleep during meetings.

Shebab Militants Target Kenyan Police in IED Attack
[AnNahar] Suspected Death Eaters from the Somali-led Shabaab Islamist group carried out a kaboom against Kenyan police on Monday, but the officers escaped unharmed, a Kenyan official said.

The attack took place in the coastal county of Lamu, which borders Somalia and has been hit by a wave of attacks by the Al-Qaeda linked group.

Northeastern regional commissioner Mohamud Saleh said a police four-wheel drive vehicle hit an IED (improvised bomb) while officers were traveling to Lamu from a neighboring county to buy supplies.

He said the vehicle was badly damaged but that the officers had been evacuated to the nearby town of Hindi.

Shabaab Death Eaters have recently been blamed for a string of security incidents in the Lamu area, including attacks on passenger buses and a failed raid on a military base last month.

The turban group is believed to have fighters operating in the area's Boni forest.

In mid-June 2014 close to 100 people were killed in a series of armed assaults on the town of Mpeketoni and surrounding villages in Lamu county.

These attacks, close to the once-popular holiday island of Lamu, led to a collapse in tourism on Kenya's coast after foreign governments warned their nationals against travel to the area.

our forces were able to retake control of the neighborhoods of Albu Khanifer and Khalif Sulaiman northwest of Fallujah," the statement claimed.

According to the statement, in an ongoing military campaign the Islamic State's top local leader in Fallujah, named Abu Shahab Al-Orduni, was tossed in the clink

.

The Iraqi government officially announced the launch of a military campaign to liberate areas under ISIS control in Anbar province.

Iraq said Sunday its forces had surrounded ISIS in Fallujah and the Anbar thriving provincial capital Ramadi, where they had opened a corridor for civilians to flee before a planned assault begins.

2 Morocco women acquitted of indency charges
[ARABNEWS] A Moroccan court acquitted two women who faced charges of "gross indecency" for wearing dresses in public, their lawyer said Monday, after their case sparked a national outcry.

"This is a victory not only for these two women but for all members of civil society who mobilized," said defense attorney Houcine Bekkar Sbai.

Fouzia Assouli, head of the LDDF women's rights organization, confirmed the acquittals handed down by a court in the southern city of Agadir.

"This acquittal is positive and shows that wearing this type of clothing (a dress) is not a crime," Assouli told AFP.

The women, hairdressers aged 23 and 29, were jugged
Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw!
on June 16 as they strolled through the open-air market in Inezgane, a suburb of Agadir, on their way to work,

Merchants accused them of wearing flimsy and "immoral" clothes, surrounded and heckled them, media reported at the time.

Police intervened to wrest them away from the angry crowd but then drove them to a cop shoppe where they were charged with gross indecency.

Article 483 of Morocco's penal code states that anyone found guilty of committing an act of "public obscenity" such as "gross indecency" can be tossed in the slammer
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
for between a month and two years.

Their case sparked an outcry in Morocco, where supporters of the two women held rallies denouncing their arrest and demanding their release, requests echoed in a petition that circulated online.

Hundreds of lawyers also offered to defend them while rights organizations kept a close tab on the proceedings.

Assouli said that Monday's verdict should prompt politicians to revise Article 483 of the penal code and adopt a law criminalizing violence against women.

Earlier this month, police arrested of two men "accused of aggressing the women." They have been referred to trial and could face prison terms from one month to two years if found guilty.

State has not turned over 2 Benghazi-related emails to Congress
The State Department has not turned over to congressional Benghazi investigators an email exchange between Hillary Clinton and top aides who were prepping the former secretary of state to discuss the 2012 terrorist attack with a U.S. senator.

The House Select Committee on Benghazi has confirmed to POLITICO that it does not have copies of two Sept. 29, 2012, emails between Clinton and her top policy staffer Jake Sullivan, chief of staff Cheryl Mills and spokesman Philippe Reines.

The emails -- which surfaced last week in a State Department response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by a conservative group -- also mention the talking points for Susan Rice, then U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, according to a description of the messages in court documents.

In the days after the Sept. 11, 2012, attack that left four Americans dead, Rice had blamed the tragedy on an anti-Muslim video. Hill Republicans would subsequently accuse the Obama administration of misleading the public about how security at the U.S. compound broke down.

State would neither confirm nor deny that the emails had been withheld, other than to refer to the court filing, which argues certain agency deliberations are exempt from disclosure.

Yes, theater indeed, Besoeker.

Politicians stand behind "executive privlege" or "classified" because the documents would not stand the light of day. Occasionally, things are classified to protect sources or personnel or sensitive relationships) However, too often these ploys are used by our betters to keep up from revolting in disgust.

Afghanistan
Activists Demand Justice for Young Boy Raped, Murdered in Kabul
[Tolo News] A group of civil society activists in northern Balkh province on Monday demanded severe punishment for those alleged to have sexually abused and killed a three-year-old boy named Yunus in Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
last week.

The activists issued a resolution that urged the country's law enforcement and courts to take action and severely punish the perpetrators of the heinous act, who have yet to be identified.

"Balkh civil society activists have raised their voice to ask Afghanistan's judicial system to act seriously regarding the sexual abuse of the underage boy," civil society activist Malika told TOLOnews.

The head of the northern branch of the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC), Sayid Mohammad Sami, called the rape of Yunus an inhuman act. "Unfortunately, such occurrences are the result of the fact that rule of law is fading away in our society," Sami said.

"Such a situation means that any brutal human and those who are against the law in every hook and nook of the country commit illegal acts and then there is no one to arrest them and send them behind bars," he added.

The extent of concern about whether or not justice will be served in Yunus' case was made readily apparent by the Balkh activists on Monday. One, named Malalai Usmani, went so far as to suggest the local community take their own action and not risk leaving it in the hands of law enforcement and the judiciary.

"We were against kangaroo courts in the past, but now I want to say that the local residents should arrest the perpetrators who raped the child and punish them before they reach the police and courts," Usmani told TOLOnews.

Demining Worker Killed, 8 Wounded in Zabul Blast
[Tolo News] A member of Demining team was killed and eight others were maimed in a mine blast in southern Zabul, local officials said Monday.

The incident took place in Qalat, the historic provincial capital, when a vehicle of demining personnel struck a landmine, a front man for Provincial Police Chief, Fawad Askari told TOLOnews.

"The mine went kaboom! near a military base in Qalat shortly after the demining personnel arrived in the area," he said.

The injured were in a critical condition, he continued.

No group including the Taliban has so far grabbed credit for planting mine.

Harper Lee's new book portrays Atticus Finch as racist
[CNNPHILIPPINES] The book is not even out, and readers are already rebelling.

Harper Lee's Go Set a Watchman hits stores Tuesday (July 14), 55 years after To Kill a Mockingbird. The book is hotly anticipated but not without controversy.

It purportedly recasts Atticus Finch, the moral center of Harper's first book, as racist.

Hearts broke across Twitter.

Lee completed Go Set a Watchman in the 1950s. The manuscript was rediscovered last year.

It picks up the story of Jean Louise "Scout" Finch, the young girl who narrates her adventures in a small Alabama town in Mockingbird.

Mockingbird was published in 1960, won the Pulitzer Prize and sold more than 40 million copies. But now, some fans are saying they might not even read Lee's new book because of the racist revelation. They say ignorance can be bliss.
The snowflakes won't read it?
"Readers will do as they wish," filmmaker Mary Murphy, who recently spent time with the reclusive Lee, told CNN.
That's a polite way of saying the snowflakes can go have sex with themselves.
She offered a potentially more nuanced view of Watchman.

"Let's remember that Alabama was a state that would have rather closed its public schools than integrate them. This is the climate in which this book appears," Murphy said. "And a truly liberated white Southern man wasn't something you'd find in these small towns, or across the state. So, Atticus, in the book, reflects -- sort of -- the time, and reflects the culture of the time."

Some fans agree. Heroes are complicated, they say, and life is not about easy -- or necessarily agreeable -- answers.
It sounds like the author maybe drew her hero as a human being instead of a statue of probity cast in cheese.

#1  Well if he was a racist, then his defense of the black man in "To Kill a Mockingbird" is even more powerful as a story of a man putting ethics and the law above his personal feelings or bias.

Great stuff!!!

The snowflakes can't get it through their heads the concept of a man putting the truth and what is right ahead of personal conviction...doesn't happen in their neighborhood.

Barmen at Hootananny pub in Inverness drop kilts
[Telegraph] Male staff members at Inverness pub now wear trousers instead of kilts after one too many attempts by women to see if they are 'true Scotsmen.'

Kilt-wearing barmen have ditched the tartan because they are fed up of being sexually harassed by rowdy women. They now wear trousers at the Hootananny pub in Inverness, after one too many attempts to see what they wore underneath.

Iain Howie, the pub's assistant manager, said the incidents mostly happened at weekends when the bar was particularly busy.

Iraq
Iraq launches Anbar assault to oust Islamic State
[Dhaka Tribune] Iraqi troops and Shi'ite Moslem militia forces attacked Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
fighters on several fronts in the country's largest province yesterday, saying the battle to drive the hardline forces of Evil out of Anbar was under way.

A front man for the joint operations command said the offensive, which began at dawn, brought together the army, mainly Shi'ite Hashid Shaabi militias, special forces, police and local Sunni Moslem tribal fighters.

Military sources in Anbar said they met fierce resistance from the myrmidons, who deployed five suicide boom-mobiles and fired rockets to repel their advance on the city of Falluja, about 50 km (30 miles) west of Baghdad.

There were also reports of fighting around the placid provincial capital Ramadi, captured by Islamic State two months ago.

Islamic State's capture of Ramadi two months ago marked the biggest defeat for the Baghdad government since the forces of Evil swept through the north of the country last June and declared a caliphate in parts of Syria and Iraq.

Until Ramadi's fall, Iraqi troops and Hashid Shaabi forces, backed by US-led air strikes, had been pushing Islamic State back, recapturing the eastern province of Diyala and former leader Saddam Hussein's home town of Tikrit, with the target of retaking djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
Although Ramadi remains the strategic target, military sources and Shi'ite militia leaders have said the initial focus will be on Falluja, which fell to IS 18 months ago.

A US-led coalition of Western and Arab air forces has been bombing Islamic State positions across Iraq, supporting Baghdad's ground forces and its poorly equipped air force.

Iraq has sought to redress its own lack of air power by purchasing F-16 fighter jets from the United States, but deliveries of the 36 aircraft were delayed because of security concerns after the Islamic State offensive last summer.

Yesterday, a first batch of four F-16s landed at Balad air base north of Baghdad, an Iraqi air force officer said.

It was not clear whether the planes would take an immediate role in the operations in Anbar.
Rudaw adds:
The F-16 is a single engine, all-weather military aircraft. It was originally developed by General Dynamics before the manufacturer became part of Lockheed Martin after a merger in 1995.

The jets Iraq ordered are F-16IQ Block 52s, which are considered downgrades from the advanced F-16C/D Block 52. This is seen as part of the US policy of avoiding selling the Iraqi government sophisticated jets capable of using advanced air-to-ground weapons and air-to-air missiles in order to alleviate the fears of regional US allies.

Chicago's Financial Fire
[CITY-JOURNAL.ORG] After years of warnings, financial reality is hitting home in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
, clouding Mayor Rahm Emanuel's hope for a transformational legacy. In March, Moody's downgraded the city's credit rating to junk, but Chicago's financial hole long predates its ratings slide.

The trouble began emerging at least as far back as 2003, albeit under the radar. Then, as the Great Recession pummeled municipal budgets around the country, former Mayor Richard M. Daley engaged in dubious deals, such as the city's parking-meter lease.

In 2010, as Daley's tenure neared its close, Crain's Chicago Business published an exposé on the troubling levels of debt that the mayor's administration had accumulated.

In 2013, after Daley had left office, the Chicago Tribune ran a series further detailing the city's questionable debt practices, such as "scoop and toss"--that is, rolling over debt at higher cost as it came due, rather than paying it off.

Chicago's pension woes, along with Illinois', started attracting media coverage--as did financial can-kicking by agencies like the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), which drained its reserves in 2012 and created a 2015 budget showing 14 months of revenue ("loopy," said the Tribune).

So for several years now, the media have been telling Chicagoans that there's a financial crisis. But it hasn't really felt like one, at least not in the booming Loop and on the North Side.

The Moody's downgrade triggered termination clauses in swaps contracts that the city and CPS had been using as part of their financial juggling act, creating a liquidity crisis. To deal with the downgrade fallout, the city plans to issue $1.1 billion in long-term bonds.

While some sort of refinancing may be required, the proposed debt issue contains maneuvers similar to those that helped get Chicago into trouble in the first place--including more scoop and toss deferrals, $75 million for police back pay, $62 million to pay a judgment related to the city's lakefront parking-garage lease, and $35 million to pay debt on the acquisition of the former Michael Reese Hospital site (an architecturally significant complex Daley acquired and razed for an ill-fated Olympic bid).

The debt-issue proposal also includes $170 million in so-called "capitalized interest" for the first two years. That is, Chicago is actually borrowing the money to pay the first two years of interest payments on these bonds. In true Chicago style, the proposal passed the city council on a 45-3 vote. Hey, at least the city is getting out of the swaps business.

since March 26, aiming to push them back from southern and central areas and restore the country's exiled government.

The Houthis, who are allied to Riyadh's main regional rival Iran, advanced from their northern stronghold a year ago, capturing the capital Sanaa in September and then pushing south early this year, prompting the Saudi-led Arclight airstrikes.

More than 3,000 people have been killed in the fighting and air strikes so far, amplifying an existing humanitarian crisis, but the Houthis and Saleh's forces remain embedded across the populated Western side of the country.

The United Nations brokered a pause in the fighting on Friday to allow humanitarian aid to be delivered, but the Saudi-led coalition said it had not been asked by Yemen's exiled President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, in whose name it is acting, to stop its raids.

Brigadier-General Ahmed al-Asiri, the front man of the coalition, was reported by al Sharq al Awsat newspaper as saying there would be no truce because Houthis were not committed to a ceasefire.

There have also been reports of fighting in breach of the pause conditions in Aden, Marib and Taiz, the main theatres of battle between local resistance movements, tribes, Islamist turbans and the Houthis and Saleh's forces.

A Houthi leader, Saleh al-Samad, described the continued Saudi raids as presenting "a clear challenge to the international community ... to stop this aggression."

A United Nations Security Council resolution in April demanded the Houthis and Saleh's forces quit areas they have captured, release prisoners and surrender weapons taken from army units that have been overrun.

forces fired mortar rounds at an oil refinery in the southern Yemeni city of Aden on Monday, starting a huge fire, witnesses and local officials said.

The mortar barrage hit three full storage tanks, in an incident sure to add to the fuel crisis in the southern port. After months of conflict, most of Yemen's oil and gas industry has ground to a halt.

The attack on the refinery in the Buraiqah area sent black smoke and flames swirling high into the night sky.

"We are trying to put out the fire. The shelling targeted the tanks where we were storing diesel and fuel for local consumption in Aden. The damage is going to be very big," one official at the facility told Rooters on condition of anonymity.

The Houthis, who took over the capital Sanaa last September, have been battling local fighters in the south for three months and had attacked the refinery before.

Industry sources said in April the 150,000 barrels-per-day Aden refinery had shut its operations and declared force majeure on its imports and exports due to the war.

Residents say that despite heavy shelling, locals had been able to tap the refinery's oil and gas supplies to meet their own needs.

More than 3,000 people have been killed and over a million displaced in the conflict, which pits the Arab coalition against the Iranian-allied Houthis.

A week-long U.N.-brokered ceasefire was meant to begin on Saturday to allow the delivery of aid. It failed to take hold, after Saudi Arabia refused to recognize the truce and continued air strikes.

Burundi Military Kills 31 Suspected Rebels in Northern Forest
[BLOOMBERG] Burundian soldiers killed 31 suspected rebels and detained another 170 in a forested area in the country's north, said military front man Gaspard Baratuza.

One civilian was killed and six soldiers were maimed in the festivities, Baratuza said on Monday by phone. The army was acting on information that a band of armed rebels was roaming the remote region, which borders Rwanda, said Baratuza. The group is being investigated, he said, without elaborating.

Burundi, a landlocked coffee-producing nation, has been facing unrest since an announcement in April that President Pierre Nkurunziza will be running for a third term, sparking an outcry by opponents who say he'll violate a two-term limit. The decision triggered a failed coup attempt and protests that have left 77 dead, forced another 100,000 to take refuge in neighboring countries and prompted several delays to the presidential vote. It's currently scheduled for July 21.

The violence has raised fears of a return to conflict if rebel groups abandon a 2005 peace accord that ended a 12-year civil war, during which 300,000 people were killed. It also has the potential to destabilize the Great Lakes region, which includes Rwanda where a genocide took place in 1994.

The United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
has warned that the East African nation risks sliding back into violence and said voting last month for politicians was not"free, credible and inclusive."

Pakistan's minorities: A case of systematic marginalization
[BLOGS.THEFRIDAYTIMES] "India grants citizenship to 4300 refugees from Afghanistan and Pakistain" read a recent news headline circulating in the media.

As a Pak, this headline carried more heartache than surprise. At a time when the Pak social media is abuzz with underlining the plight of the minority Rohingya-Moslem community of Myanmar, minorities and marginalized groups in our own backyard are fighting a battle of their survival. So how come Pakistain, a country established on grounds of secularism, reach this stage of deserting its own? Systematic constitutional marginalization, growing Lion of Islam narrative, and alleged state-backed persecution are some of the major reasons.

Between January 2013 and June 2014, up to 3,753 Non-Moslem Paks, especially Hindus, gave up their passports to acquire Indian Visas. Also, the Foreign Policy magazine ranked Pakistain as the third worst state in terms of group grievance, whereas Freedom House, in 2012, categorized the country as partially free for religious practice.

leaders were killed in an air strike in northeastern Syria on July 13, a monitoring group said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights identified the leaders as an Iraqi, Abu Osama al-Iraqi, and a Syrian named Amer al-Rafdan.

Rami Abdulrahman, head of the U.K.-based Observatory for Human Rights, said that it could not be determined whether it was the Syrian Army or the U.S.-led coalition, which runs a separate aerial campaign, that carried out the air strike in Hasaka Province.

Iraqi had the title of a "governor" of the province IS had declared in northeastern Syria, while Rafdan had served as IS governor of Deir al-Zor Province, according to Abdulrahman.

Primark store siege: Police hunt for gunmen in France
[FINANCIALEXPRESS] French police are hunting for the three gunnies who barged into a Primark store near Gay Paree in a suspected robbery attempt.

According to the BBC, the gunnies escaped the scene after special forces evacuated 18 people trapped inside the Qwartz shopping centre in Villeneuve-la-Garenne.

The area around the shopping centre has been shut down.

The shopping center and surrounding area are closed to the public because of the security operation, said police.

The siege comes a day before the Bastille Day celebrations in the country.
An Nahar adds:
French police on Monday were hunting armed robbers who escaped after holding up a store in a shopping mall near Paris, prompting special forces to intervene and seal off the area.

The three men -- one of whom was thought to be an employee of the shop -- burst into the Primark store in Villeneuve-la-Garenne early Monday, said a police source who wished to remain anonymous.

But while security forces initially thought the gunmen were still inside the mall, they realized after searching the premises that the men had escaped.

The suspects "appear to have run away, and the search continues outside the mall," a source close to the probe said.

Prosecutors added they did not appear to have fled with any money.

- 'This is a hold-up' -
Memories of attacks in January by Islamic extremists who gunned down 17 people in and near Paris -- including several who were held hostage in a Jewish supermarket -- are still fresh in many minds in France. France, and the Paris area in particular, remains on high alert with some 7,000 soldiers deployed around the country to help police in countering any further attack.

But so far police have indicated Monday's attack was a common armed robbery.

"I saw two robbers, dressed in black, hooded. They were calm, not in a hurry," said Bruno Jahin, a 20-year-old witness. "The tallest... had a gun, I think it was a pump-action shotgun. The other man was smaller.

"I heard 'this is a hold-up, you must go' several times... I turned around and took the lift," he said. "They were definitely looking for money, it's a store that is doing very well."

A London-based spokesman for Primark, a low-cost clothing store that has been a huge success in Britain, confirmed there had been an "incident" at its store, which is located just north of Paris.

Home Front: Culture Wars
Confederate flag supporters rise up to defend embattled symbol
[REUTERS] An eight-mile convoy of pickups, cycle of violences and cars wound through a central Florida town on Sunday in a show of support for the Confederate flag, as a backlash against its banishment from public landmarks across the South picks up steam.

Horns blared and hundreds of the rebel flags fluttered as more than 1,500 vehicles and some 4,500 people turned out for the "Florida Southern Pride Ride" in Ocala, according to police estimates. Vehicles from states across the South and as far away as Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, participated.

"That flag has a lot of different meanings to a lot of different people," said David Stone, 38, who organized the event. "It doesn't symbolize hate unless you think it's hate - and that's your problem, not mine."

Organizers announced the event as the South embarked on an emotional debate over the flag's symbolism in the aftermath of the massacre of nine blacks by a white gunman in a Charleston church last month. The suspect in the church shootings had posed with the flag in photos posted on a website.

In South Carolina, politicians moved quickly to take the flag down from the statehouse grounds in Columbia, a longstanding demand of those who see it as a divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
symbol of the South's pro-slavery legacy.

Alabama and scores of municipalities have take similar steps since the June 17 massacre.

But the national push to pull the controversial icon from stores and public displays is being met with determined resistance in some corners of the United States.

Supporters such as those who drove through Ocala on Sunday insist the flag is a honorable symbol of regional pride, a mark of respect for Southern soldiers who died in the American Civil War.

In Ocala, the seat of Marion County, an administrator had ordered the Confederate flag's removal from a government complex. But last week county leaders overruled the order and the banner is again flying atop the building.

"It's just about heritage. I'm upset they want to remove a piece of history," said Jessica McRee, 29, an Ocala native and employee of a law enforcement agency who participated in Sunday's ride.

#1  It is very interesting to see how the Media twists the story.

So instead of a rogue male loner on a second generation antidepressant with a history of violence, it is a rogue male racist with a confederate battle flag.

The first few articles about Roof indicated he was talking one of the "new" antidepressants (which have a history of precipitating violence outbursts, temper tantrums, suicides, etc.,). Suddenly when the confederate flag picture of Roof appeared the entire narrative changed to racism and the nasty old hate provoking flag.

I personally think the Media is not only running the DOJ/WH agenda on race but is also running cover for the pharmaceutical industry and the FDA which is pumping people full of the stuff.

Just about everyone of the recent mass shooters was taking one or more of these nasty little pills...

Instead of questioning the drugs, the media buries the story to promote gun control and racism.

NE China: Three 'Xinjiang terrorists' shot dead by police
Police in the north-eastern Chinese city of Shenyang have shot dead three "knife-wielding" men, state media said, calling them Xinjiang terrorists.

A woman was also injured in the raid which took place on Monday afternoon.

Xinjiang province, home to a significant Muslim Uighur population, has seen several clashes and public attacks in recent years, which police have attributed to terrorists.

Monday's incident was one of the few such clashes outside of Xinjiang.

The statement, as reproduced in Chinese media, said that police caught 16 "terrorism suspects" in a raid in Shenyang.

During the raid, officers entered a rented apartment where they "discovered Xinjiang terrorist suspects" and were attacked by four people "wearing masks, holding long knives, and shouting 'holy war' slogans," the statement said.

Police then retreated and called for back-up. More than 200 officers, including an anti-terrorist unit, evacuated nearby residents and surrounded the building. A cherry picker was used to reach the seventh-floor apartment.

The Grand Turk
Kurdish militants to attack dam sites, saying Turkey violated ceasefire
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Kurdish militants will attack Turkey's dam construction sites in the mainly Kurdish southeast, the group said in a statement late on Saturday, another blow to a fragile peace process meant to end a three-decade insurgency.

The Union of Kurdistan Communities (KCK), the Kurdish militants' umbrella political group, on Saturday issued a statement saying that Turkey's construction of military outposts, dams and roads for military purposes had violated the ceasefire.

"The Turkish state took advantage of the ceasefire conditions not for a democratic political resolution but to gain an advantageous position in preparation of war by building dozens of guard posts, roads for military purposes and dams in order for a cultural genocide," the statement said.

The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) launched a separatist armed struggle in 1984 before moderating its goal to improving the rights of Turkey's roughly 12 million Kurds.

President Tayyip Erdogan, who has boosted Kurdish cultural rights during more than a decade in power, began peace talks with Ocalan in 2012, risking nationalist wrath.

"The Kurdish movement has decided to not to accept this treatment any more, and to mobilize all means necessary, including the guerrilla forces, to stop the construction of all dams," it said.

In a June general election, the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) passed a 10 percent election threshold for the first time and gained 80 seats in Turkey's 550-seat parliament.

However, Erdogan's ruling AK Party, running a single party government for 13 years, failed to get a simple majority. He mandated Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to form a government last week.

Coalition talks will start on Monday. A possible coalition with the right-wing Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) would be likely to scupper a peace process with Turkey's Kurdish minority, something Erdogan sees as part of his legacy.

Britain
Prince William starts new helicopter rescue job
[CNNPHILIPPINES] He's a working dad whose career is flying: Prince William is taking to the air as a newly qualified air ambulance pilot, while trying to keep his feet on the ground.
One of the good guys.
Second in line to the British throne, William started work Monday (July 13) as a pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance service.

He'll be flying rescue missions for four counties around Cambridge, where he'll be based. Cambridge is about 100 kilometers (60 miles) north of London.

"For me it's really important to be grounded. I feel doing a job like this really helps with grounding ... at the core of what I am trying to become," he said in an interview Monday.

And what he wants to become is -- in his words -- "a good guy," "a decent individual."

He said he wants to balance his career with his royal duties, which, at some point, will inevitably take over.

He'll be working part-time, his office said Monday, ideally in blocks of several weeks, with his royal duties sandwiched into a week at a time.

The Prince also has a young family to worry about, the newest member of which is Princess Charlotte, who was christened July 5.

"She's been a little joy of heaven but at the same time, it is more responsibility looking after two little ones, especially when (her older brother) George is around," William said. "He's a little monkey. But it's fantastic having a little family. I'm so thrilled. Catherine has been doing an amazing job as a mother and I'm very proud of her."

Mali Forces Arrest Gunmen Linked to Terrorist Attacks
[ALMANAR.LB] The Malian army captured two people linked to Ansar Dine group (Arabic translation of "supporters of the religion") and seized evidence linking them to planned attacks, security sources said on Sunday.

Ansar Dine was part of an alliance of gunnies that helped seize Mali's desert north after a Tuareg uprising in 2012 but was ousted by a French military operation a year later.

The group this week grabbed credit for a series of recent attacks across Mali's south and west, including the capital Bamako, formerly deemed safe.

"An army patrol tossed in the slammer
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
two men in possession of military material and compromising documents," said one of the sources, adding that the men were captured in the central region of Mopti and taken to Bamako.

He said the documents contained a message from Ansar Dine's Tuareg leader Iyad Ag Ghali to an accomplice in the south about future attacks.

The southern accomplice has not yet been identified, he said, adding that others had been called in for questioning based on the intelligence gathered so far.

A second security source said a total of six people were tossed into the calaboose for questioning, including two women, part of a push to dismantle Ansar Dine's network.

Armed groups and the Malian government signed a peace agreement in June designed to stop uprisings in the north, but Ansar Dine was not part of it.

Syrian army issued new wanted list includes 21000 defectors
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] A new wanted list issued by Syrian regime army and leaked to the media has included names of 21000 defectors who escaped fighting in the ranks of Bashir al-Assad forces.

Unconfirmed figures say around 100,000 soldiers and gunnies loyal to al-Assad have been killed in four-year armed conflict.

the list has also included named of 600 army defectors from Assad's hometown of Qardaha.

The newly high record of defectors has reflected the amounting outrage of Assad's fellow Alawite sect, especially in his hometown of Qardaha near Latakia.

Syria's conflict began in March 2011 as popular protests against four decades of Assad family rule but changed into armed insurgency under a security force crackdown.

Fate of Islamabad's anti-terror force hangs in balance
[DAWN] More than six months after the National Action Plan (NAP) was finalised, the Islamabad Police is still struggling to get the green signal for the special anti- terror force for the federal capital.
Death by babu...
Of the 20 points listed for implementation under NAP, number eight aimed at establishing a 'special anti-terrorism force'.

With this aim in mind, the Islamabad police had proposed a strong contingent of 1,000 highly trained personnel to fight terrorism in the capital.

Sources in the Islamabad police told Dawn that the file for the establishment of the anti-terrorism police force had made its way to a senior government functionary for approval.

"The file was forwarded to the ICT administration and the Chief Commissioner's office forwarded the file to the interior ministry and now it is with the Planning Commission," the officer said.

However,
women are made to be loved, not understood...
background conversations with concerned officials revealed that there is a serious difference of opinion over the plan between the police and the interior ministry.

Despite resistance by the Islamabad police, the ministry has decided that the Rs1.8 billion project would be implemented in two phases.

The dear departed were identified as Miraz Molla, Harun Bepari of Khulna and Hanif Sardar of Hizla upazila.

Golam Sarwar, officer-in-charge of Hizla cop shoppe, said local people caught three robbers around 3am while they were allegedly taking preparation to commit robbery at the village.

Sensing their presence,
My spider sense! It's tingling again! To arms! Aux barricades!
villagers caught them and then gave them a good beating, leaving the three dead on the spot. Police recovered five sharp weapons and the bodies from the spot in the morning.

The lynched victims were members of dacoit gang 'Yusuf Sardar Bahini', said Khalilur Rahman, chairman Barojalia union parishad, adding that Yusuf Sardar was also lynched by a mob on May 17.

Punish Rajon's twisted murderers
[Dhaka Tribune] We are shocked by the vicious murder of Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon, the 13-year-old boy, who was tied to a pole and tortured to death by a group of men in Kumargon, Sylhet.

It is difficult to imagine the anguish his family must be enduring as the nation learns of the 28 minute video of his barbaric torture which was filmed and uploaded by his killers.

The video contains harrowing footage of the horrific beating and torture Rajon was subjected to by a group of five or six individuals, before he departed this vale of tears.

Some comfort can be taken from the fact that the prime accused has been placed on a five-day remand by the Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate. It is fortuitous that he was detained last week after being caught red-handed trying to dump Rajon's body.

Now that a murder case has been formally filed, the police must ensure the immediate apprehension and arrest of all the accused's accomplices.

The damning evidence that the tormentors have provided of themselves brutally laughing and jeering as they tortured their victim, can be used to quickly bring them to justice.

Nothing can excuse or explain why they brazenly boasted about their sickening depravity. But everyone knows that no one should be allowed to get away with murder.

Rajon's killers must be held to account and punished to the full extent of the law.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
Pentagon Readying Plan to Lift Transgender Ban
[ABCNEWS.GO] Pentagon leaders are finalizing plans aimed at lifting the ban on transgender individuals in the military, with the goal of formally ending one of the last gender- or sexuality-based barriers to military service, senior U.S. officials told The News Agency that Dare Not be Named.
Once they get that out of the way maybe they'll have time for that Islamic State thing.
An announcement is expected this week, and the services would have six months to assess the impact of the change and work out the details, the officials said Monday. Military chiefs wanted time to methodically work through the legal, medical and administrative issues and develop training to ease any transition, and big shots believed six months would be sufficient.

The officials said Defense Secretary Ash Carter has asked his personnel undersecretary, Brad Carson, to set up a working group of senior military and civilian leaders to take an objective look at the issue. One bigwig said that while the goal is to lift the ban, Carter wants the working group to look at the practical effects, including the costs, and determine whether it would affect readiness or create any insurmountable problems that could derail the plan. The group would also develop uniform guidelines.

#12  Im sorry, but this is simply mental illness defined by the medical establishment into "normal". Its not. Your body says XX or XY. You are therefore Female or Male. If you are one thing and think you are another then that is a mental aberration, not a normal situation. Extreme therapy may be required, as some want to mutilate their body hormonally and surgicallyt, but whatever the outcome, you cannot treat the final condition as "normal" - because it cannot be sustained without continuous treatment. Same as Cancer or HIV or Organ Transplants - if the treatments are required, you still have the disorder, and the need for continuous treatments means you are not eligible for service.

This is imply using the military as a lab for social experiments. What happens to Jim who used to be Jenny, when they get stuck at the far end of a supply chain and dont get their testosterone? Same as a male who isnt making his own testosterone and requires hormone treatments - lose muscle mass, lose strenght, lose ability to perform the military duties. Therefore INELIGIBLE TO SERVE.

Sorry folks there are limits, this is not Kindergarten. Doesn't anyone at the Pentagon have the guts to speak up?

Zakat must not land in wrong hands: govt
[DAWN] Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has advised people to pay Zakat and charity to institutions which save lives and not to those producing jacket wallahs.

Addressing a ceremony held here on Sunday to mark the 18th foundation day of Sundas Foundation, he said while giving charity during Ramazan it was imperative for people to ensure that it landed in the hands who spend it on purchasing medicines rather than those making suicide jackets and spreading hate and extremism.

"Knowledge spreads love and brotherhood and the institutions which preach prejudice, massacres and suicide kabooms do not deserve any charity. It is necessary to ensure that our charity does not go into wrong hands," he said.

The minister said that the services of institutions like Sundas Foundation were commendable because they had been working to save life and not to destroy it. "It is a virtue to preserve life." He said the people suffering from thalassaemia and haemophilia were braver than "us and deserve our respect and admiration".

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Jewish woman who helped Kurds fight IS returns to Israel
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] A Canadian-Israeli who was the first foreign woman to help Syria's Kurds fight Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
has left the front lines and returned to Israel, citing the spread of Iranian influence in the war zones among her reasons.

After eight months in which she was often incommunicado, stirring rumors that she had fallen captive, Israeli media feted Gill Rosenberg's sudden return on Sunday. But she may still face a legal reckoning for her unauthorized travels.

The 31-year-old former Israeli army volunteer said the lessons of the Holocaust drove her to help protect the Kurds and other Middle East minorities menaced by Islamic State advances.

"I think we as Jews, we say 'never again' for the Shoah, and I take it to mean not just for Jewish people, but for anyone, for any human being, especially a helpless woman or child in Syria or Iraq," Rosenberg told Israel's Army Radio on Monday.

"But in the past few weeks I think a lot of the dynamics have changed there, in terms of what's going on in the war. The Iranian involvement is a lot more pronounced. Things changed enough that I felt that it was time to come home."

Rosenberg started out with Kurdish YPG guerrillas in Syria before moving to the Dwekh Nawsha, a Christian militia in Iraq. Both countries are formally at war with Israel, which bars its citizens from traveling there. Iran is among regional powers sending forces to battle Islamic State in Iraq.

The Israeli internal security agency Shin Bet said it questioned Rosenberg after she landed in Tel Aviv. It did not elaborate on whether she would face criminal charges, but an Israeli justice official told Rooters it appeared unlikely.

Rosenberg's native Canada, from which she emigrated alone to Israel, had also urged her to get out of Syria. The Canadian embassy in Israel did not immediately comment on her return.

U.S. authorities could pose more of a challenge, however.

In 2009, Rosenberg was incarcerated
Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try!
in Israel over an international phone scam and extradited to the United States, where she served time in prison. Yahel Ben-Oved, one of her lawyers, said Rosenberg won early release in 2013 on condition that she remain paroled either on U.S. or Israeli soil.

"I believe she may have violated this by going to Syria," Ben-Oved told Rooters. "This could be a problem for her."

U.S. officials said they were looking into the case.

Rosenberg declined a Rooters request for an interview, saying she would speak to foreign media later in the week.

Rooters sources familiar with the YPG and Dwekh Nawsha confirmed that Rosenberg had served with both.

"We were, like, under 2 km (1 miles) from Daesh (Islamic State) the whole time, for the most part," Rosenberg told Army Radio. "There were some pretty major firefights, but, you know, a lot of it was just holding lines."

She said she was ordered to keep quiet about her Israeli citizenship while with the YPG, a militia with a historically pro-Paleostinian leaning.

"The Kurds love Israel. They love Israel and they love the Jewish people. But among the ranks of the YPG there's also local Arabs and other people that might not be such big fans of Israel," she said.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Kerry doesn't view Russia as existential threat
[Dhaka Tribune] US Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
does not agree with the Marine Corps general nominated to be America's next top uniformed commander that Russia poses an existential threat to the United States, a front man said on Friday.

On Thursday, Marine General Joseph Dunford told politicians weighing his nomination to be chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff that Russia presented the greatest threat to US national security.

"If you want to talk about a nation that could pose an existential threat to the United States, I'd have to point to Russia," Dunford said. "And if you look at their behavior, it's nothing short of alarming."

US State Department front man Mark Toner said Kerry did not share the assessment, even though Russia's actions in Ukraine posed regional security challenges.

"The secretary doesn't agree with the assessment that Russia is an existential threat to the United States, nor China, quite frankly," Toner told a regular news briefing when asked about Dunford's remarks.

"You know, these are major powers with whom we engage and cooperate on a number of issues, despite any disagreements we may have with them," he said. "Certainly we have disagreements with Russia and its activities within the region, but we don't view it as an existential threat."

Dunford included China, whose rapidly expanding military has alarmed Pentagon officials, second in his list of top US security concerns, as well as North Korea and the threat from Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. Death Eaters.

Toner said Kerry did consider the rapid growth of groups like Islamic State, particularly in ungoverned spaces,

An existential threat.

Dunford added his voice to those Pentagon officials who have supported providing lethal arms to Ukraine to help it defend itself from Russia-backed separatists, a step that President Barack Obama
I inhaled. That was the point...
has so far resisted.

White House front man Josh Earnest said on Thursday that the administration was mindful of Russia's destabilizing activity but Dunford's comment reflected "his own view and doesn't necessarily reflect the ... consensus analysis of the president's national security team."

US Defense Secretary Ash Carter has said he was inclined to provide defensive arms to Ukraine, but has qualified this position by saying that economic sanctions should be the primary focus for exerting pressure on Moscow.

More information needed to expedite Lakhvi trial, Pakistan tells India
[DAWN] Adviser to PM on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz
...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy...
said Monday that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
had told his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi during their meeting in Ufa, Russia that more information is required to conclude the Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi
...an asset of the Pak govt and a big turban in Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is actually a redundant statement. Zak was the criminal mastermind behind the 2008 Mumbai attack. Despite what India's provided there is not enough evidence in this world for a Pak court to convict him or even to keep him in the calaboose for very long...
trial -- the alleged criminal mastermind 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

Speaking to media representatives in the federal capital, Sartaj said that the reference to 'additional information' is a recognition of the need for information which is required in order to expedite the trial.

Lakhvi was released from Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail in April this year, after a court ordered dismissal of detention orders issued against him by the Okara DCO on March 14.

India condemned Lakhvi's release deeming it an "insult" to the victims of the 26/11 Mumbai attack. Lakhvi is among the seven persons charged with planning and helping carry out the 2008 Mumbai attacks.

At the time of the attacks, Lakhvi was believed to be the operational head of the banned Laskhar-e-Taiba (LT) that has been accused by India of carrying out the attacks in India's financial capital.

During the meeting with Modi, Sartaj said, Nawaz also sought information on the progress made on the Samjhota Express trial.

"July 10, 2015 was a very important day in the diplomatic history of Pakistain," said the adviser.

Aziz said SCO took a unanimous formal decision to admit Pakistain (and India) into the organization.

"The process has been launched and after formalities are completed like ratification of SCO documents, Pakistain will become a full fledged member of the SCO."

He said the organization can play an important role in shaping a conducive regional environment that would bring peace and prosperity to all SCO members.

Shashi Tharoor: Need to ascertain if Pakistan is serious on talks with India
[FINANCIALEXPRESS] Sounding a cautious note after India and Pakistain decided to revive their stalled dialogue process, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor today said the government should ascertain the neighbouring country's seriousness on the issue of terrorism while going ahead on bilateral ties.

Commenting on the decision for a fresh beginning of talks at an interaction between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistain counterpart Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
in Russia, Shashi Tharoor said that the government should first understand how serious Pakistain was, particularly on the issue of terrorism.

"We need to know the intention. Pakistain is such a country where the army decides things and, when the army comes into action, then it becomes difficult for the civilian government to stop them," Shashi Tharoor said.

"Dialogue is important, but the subject has to be clear. Terrorism is our first priority. If Pakistain is not serious, then what is the benefit of holding talks? There has been no useful cooperation so far," said Shashi Tharoor told news hounds here.

He was in the city to address a seminar on 'Soft Power of India', organised by FICCI FLO.

Speaking at the event, the former Union minister welcomed the Modi government's initiative to promote Yoga at the international level, but said that "running after a world record" was unwarranted.

He also said that the BJP-led government should take a hard stand on such statements by the party's leader which reflect narrow-mindedness.

"Some people want to pretend India is a Hindu country, but can India be acknowledged without the poetry of Ghalib, qawwali or cricket?" he asked.

On the Lalit Modi controversy and Congress's demand for the resignation of Union Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, he said it was extremely unusual that there was no action against the duo.

Under UPA rule, leaders were asked to resign over allegations, he said. Tharoor said that the legal process should continue and the issue should not be forgotten.

Africa Subsaharan
Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari sacks entire military top brass as Boko Haram strikes
[ABC.NET.AU] Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari has sacked his entire military top brass, as Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
turbans mounted deadly attacks against civilians in the country's remote north-east.
"Yer fired. Pack yer shit and get out!"
A strike by a lone bomber in the restive city of Maiduguri and two women in the border town of Fotokol in northern Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
, killing 11 people, again underlined the regional threat posed by the Islamists.

Both came after a male jacket wallah, dressed as a woman and wearing a full-face veil, went kaboom! at a crowded market in Chad's capital N'Djamena on Saturday, killing 15.

Mr Buhari's purge of senior military commanders inherited from his predecessor Goodluck Jonathan
... 14th President of Nigeria. He was Governor of Bayelsa State from 9 December 2005 to 28 May 2007, and was sworn in as Vice President on 29 May 2007. Jonathan is a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). He is a lover of nifty hats, which makes him easily recognizable unless someone else in the room is wearing a neat chapeau...
was widely expected but is the clearest demonstration yet of his quest for a fresh start.

"President Buhari thanks the outgoing service chiefs and national security advisor for their services to the nation and wishes them well in their future endeavours," his office said in a statement.

The former military ruler has made ending the insurgency his top priority but Boko Haram has intensified its campaign since he came to power on May 29, killing some 570 people in Nigeria alone.

At least 15,000 have been killed since 2009.

Promises to halt Boko Haram unfulfilled

The new appointments are Mr Buhari's first to senior roles in his administration, as he looks to overhaul a military that struggled to take on Boko Haram throughout all of last year.

The outgoing chief of defence staff Alex Badeh and heads of the army, navy and air force were appointed in January 2014 after a daring raid by the Islamists against military installations in Maiduguri.

Mr Badeh promised at his investiture in January last year that the insurgency "must be brought to a complete stop before April 2014" -- but if anything, the violence has worsened.

In April last year, hard boy fighters kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls from the remote north-eastern town of Chibok in Borno state, provoking global outrage.

Mr Jonathan's administration and the military were criticised for their response and Mr Badeh promised the 219 girls' swift return yet nothing has been seen or heard from them since May last year.

His time in the post also saw Boko Haram overrun vast tracts of north-eastern Nigeria, capturing towns and villages and even proclaiming a self-styled caliphate.

Demoralised frontline troops were seemingly unable to prevent the take-over and protested over a lack of arms and ammunition to take on the better-armed rebels.

Procurement since the end of last year, the arrival of foreign mercenaries and assistance from Cameroon, Chad and Niger have apparently reversed the unprecedented land grab.

But the rebels have since allied themselves to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group, handing a potentially more troubling portfolio to Mr Badeh's successor, major-general Abayomi Gabriel Olonishakin.

There will also be questions over who heads the new, regional force due to deploy at the end of the month, with the appointment of major-general Tukur Yusuf Buratai as chief of army staff.

Mr Buratai had been acting as commander of the Multi-National Joint Task Force, which has its headquarters in N'Djamena.

India-Pakistan
'Military takes over Imambargah case investigation'
[DAWN] Zain Shah is very worried. The caretaker of an imambargah that has been the target of two suicide kabooms, he continues to fear a third.

"We have not received any direct threats from anyone," he tells Dawn but adds that "the local police have told me that the threat levels are very high and that we should be on our guard."

With a furrowed brow, the old man in a white shalwar kameez gets ready to say his prayers, as he talked to Dawn.

The attack happened on February 18, 2015, when a suicide attacker went kaboom! outside the Imambargah
...since Pakistain is very religiously correct, Shia Moslems can't call their houses of worship 'mosques,' which are reserved for Sunnis. It's not clear if imambargahs are used for explosives storage like mosques are...
Qasr-e-Sakina, killing two people and injuring several others.

The damage could have been a lot worse had the bomber managed to make his way inside, but he was stopped by the two guards who bit the dust but averted a greater tragedy.

The imambargah is located at the junction of the Islamabad Expressway and Kuri road in Shakrial.

The first attack on the imambargah happened in December 2009. The caretaker's fears become more palpable when he revealed that he had no information about any progress in the investigation of the attack.

Shah said so far he had not been summoned to court, asked to testify or been approached by the investigating authorities.

All he knows is that the investigation has reportedly been taken over by the military authorities and the police are no longer working on the case.

As the complainant in the FIR of the attack -- registered in Shahzad Town Police Station -- he had approached the police a number of times to ask them for an update, "but each time I get told that the military is investigating the case."

"The police give us the same answer each time; that they will update us when they hear something from the military. But there has been no progress in all these weeks. How can I feel safe when I know those people are still out there," he asked, rhetorically.

Shah said so far he had not been summoned to court, asked to testify or been approached by the investigating authorities.

It is pertinent to mention that the day after the incident a protest was held, blocking the Expressway. This increased the pressure on the law enforcement agencies and resultantly the investigation was transferred to the intelligence agencies.

This is not surprising. In a number of high-profile cases which either caused excessive fatalities or where the target was an important personality, the traditional response is to establish a joint investigation team because it becomes an act of terrorism. Such teams depend on the information and capabilities of the intelligence agencies rather than the police. Such as joint investigation teams were established after the district court attack, blast in fruit and vegetable market etc.

As a result, the police have not much to offer. A police official requesting anonymity said in the past different sections of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain (TTP) claimed the credit for various attacks. For instance, a TTP splinter group, Ahrarul Hind, grabbed credit for an attack on the Islamabad High Court in March 2014. But, he added that the TTP or any of its splinter groups did not claim the imambargah attack.

"The attack on imambargah Qasr-e-Sakina looks like a continuation of the sectarian killings in Pakistain. And, like other sectarian cases, the arrest of the culprit seems difficult," he said.

Khurram Shahzad Qureshi's father Ghulam Hussain was one of those who lost his life while stopping the suicide attacker. Khurram told Dawn that his 63-year-old father would come to pray at the imambargah and was volunteering as a guard on that fateful day. Like Shah, Qureshi also said he would not feel safe until the criminal mastermind behind the two attacks on Qasr-e-Sakina was brought to justice. "As long as the perpetrators and criminal masterminds are on the lam, there will always be the chance of another attack," he said.

Israeli Occupation Forces Arrest Khodor Adnan in Jerusalem Day after Release
[ALMANAR.LB] Israeli occupation forces on Monday evening enjugged
... anything you say can and will be used against you, whether you say it or not...
veteran Paleostinian hunger striker Khodor Adnan while heading into Jerusalem's Old City to take part in Laylat al-Qader prayers a day after he was freed from an Israeli prison.

Israeli soldiers detained Adnan, 37, at Herod's Gate at the entrance to Jerusalem's Old City.

He was reportedly taken to the David cop shoppe inside the Old City.

The Zionist authorities in the early hours of Sunday released Adnan who staged a 56-day hunger strike while being detained for a year without charge.
The Times of Israel adds:
Paleostinian activist Khader Adnan was tossed in the calaboose
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
Monday in Jerusalem and held for several hours before being freed.

Adnan was detained in the Old City of Jerusalem, where he sought to attend Ramadan prayers, because Israeli restrictions barred Paleostinians under 50 from attending, police said.

He was released home after several hours.

Officials with the Paleostinian security services said Adnan was arrested while heading to to the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, the third-holiest site in Islam, for a special ceremony during the sacred fasting month of Ramadan.

"Khader Adnan was arrested because he had no right to be in the Old City of Jerusalem where free access is allowed to West Bank Paleostinians only aged 50 and above, and he is just 37," Israel Police spokesperson Luba Samri told AFP.

Samri insisted, however, it was not an arrest as such, but an "inquiry to investigate the offense committed by Khader Adnan."

Micky Rosenfeld, another police front man, said Adnan is "an Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
activist and is also prohibited for this reason from entering Israeli territory."

Howzzat
[THEFRIDAYTIMES] Apologise for lying? Who, me? Never! Never in a million years. Apologising for their mistakes is what ordinary people do. Not entitled, arrogant, egotistical, self-centered, shameless autocrats like me and my team. We never apologise. So what if I lied about Najam Sethi stealing 35 seats during Election 2013? So what if I invented the lie about "35 Punctures"? I can brazen it out. We're untouchable, me and my Teflon Team. Except for Dr Arif Alvi, founding member of the Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
and former Secretary General. He had the gall to tell me to apologise to Sethi and get it over with. "I've been looking at PTI members' opinion polls. They want you to be different from other politicians and accept your mistakes", he mumbled. I shouted back, "WHY WOULD I WANT TO LISTEN TO THE SORT OF IDIOTS WHO VOTED ME IN??" "Quite right, mein fuhrer, quite right", he mumbled and slunk away.

Meanwhile,
...back at the palazzo, Count Guido stepped from behind the suit of armor, rapier in hand. Ciccolini snarled and reached for his own weapon...
I've been busy doing extremely worthy things. I've renamed many of Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
's famous places. Shahrah-e-Ghaffar Khan is now Shahrah-e-Reham Khan. Khushal Khan Khattak Road is now DJ Butt Road. The Khyber Pass is now Pass The Joint. The Qissa Khawani Bazaar is now Kiss 'n Tell Bazaar. Hayatabad is now Wahayatabad. And so on and so forth, in my usual mindless manner.

And another great thing I've done is to persuade the Taliban to come to the negotiating table. I summoned the most blood-thirsty ones to my palace in Bani Gala and when they strode in, strapped with suicide jackets, I said, "Listen guys, you're not going to like this but I've decided we're going back to the old Islamic values of tolerance, art, culture and learning". They sulked for a while and finally agreed when I told them that they could wage bilateral negotiations on their opponents for ten generations.

As I tucked them into bed, I asked, "is there anything you'd like before sehri?" "Yes please", they replied, "3 RPGs, 1 IED and some weapons grade plutonium."

Son of Boston police captain charged in alleged ISIS-inspired bomb plot
[BUSINESSINSIDER.IN] A Massachusetts man has been charged in connection with an alleged plot to set off pressure-cooker bombs on behalf of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
myrmidon group, the Department of Justice said on Monday.

ABC reports that the man, Alexander Ciccolo, is the estranged son of a respected Boston police captain.

"Ciccolo's father is Boston police Captain Robert Ciccolo, a veteran commander assigned to Operations at Boston Police headquarters who was one of the first responders to the deadly Boston Marathon bombing in April 2013," ABC reports.

Ciccolo, 23, was incarcerated
Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out!
on July 4 for the unlawful receipt of multiple guns, the DOJ said.

"Ciccolo was arrested immediately after taking delivery of the firearms, which included a Colt AR-15 .223 caliber rifle, a SigArms Model SG550-1 556 caliber rifle, a Glock 17- 9mm pistol and a Glock 20-10 mm pistol," the DOJ said. "Ciccolo had previously been convicted of a crime punishable by more than a year in jail and therefore was prohibited from possessing firearms."

Prior to his arrest, Ciccolo is alleged to have told a witness that he planned to purchase a pressure cooker similar to that used in the Boston bombings, prosecutors said. Ciccolo said that he was interested in carrying out an ISIS-inspired attack on a highly populated public space, "such as college cafeterias."

Ciccolo told the cooperating witness that he planned on filling a pressure cooker with "lack powder, nails, ball bearings and glass," the DOJ reports.

After Ciccolo's arrest, federal agents conducted a search of his apartment. The agents found "partially constructed" Molotov cocktails that contained a mixture of Styrofoam pieces and motor oil. The DOJ states that Ciccolo had told the cooperating witness previously that he believed such a mixture would "stick to people's skin and make it harder to put the fire out."

"This is a very bad person arrested before he could do very bad things," one senior federal official briefed on the arrest told ABC News.
Anguper Hupomosing9418 submitted an article from Boston.com which added:
When the FBI searched his apartment, they found several partially constructed Molotov cocktails, two machetes, and a long curved knife, according to the complaint.

After his arrest, Ciccolo met with a nurse for a routine medical screening. There, he took a pen and "forcefully stabbed" the nurse in the head, causing a bloody gash and breaking the pen in half, according to the complaint. He also waived his Miranda Rights and reaffirmed his support for ISIS, the FBI said.
Nice lad. An Nahar had an explanation:
The son of a U.S. police officer, who has a history of mental illness and was on probation for drinking, has been charged in connection with an alleged terror plot, officials said Monday.

Alexander Ciccolo, 23, also known as Ali al-Amriki, was placed in durance vile
Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'!
on Independence Day in the northeastern state of Massachusetts and is due to appear in court to answer firearms charges on Tuesday.

He was detained after allegedly taking delivery of four weapons -- two rifles and two pistols -- from an FBI informant. Prosecutors said he had a knife strapped to his waist at the same time.

But court documents unsealed on Monday portrayed a disturbed Ciccolo, an individual with "a long history of mental illness" who was put on probation in February for a drinking conviction.

In the 18 months prior to his arrest he became "obsessed with Islam," prosecutors claim.

Last year, the 13th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, the FBI was tipped off that Ciccolo allegedly had expressed a desire to go to Iraq or Syria to fight for IS.

The FBI says that he operated a Facebook page under the name Ali Al Amriki, that was a platform for Lion of Islam postings. Under the photo of a man holding a machete, was written "another day in the forest strengthening myself" and next to the image of a dead American soldier, was written "Thank you Islamic State!"

Last month, he allegedly told an informant about his intention to travel inter-state to bomb two bars and a police station, before switching his focus to attacking a university instead.

Further concerns were raised by Ciccolo's alleged praise of the June 26 massacre of 38 foreign holidaymakers on a beach in Tunisia, which he is accused of calling a "huge accomplishment."

Gul urges 'more realistic' foreign policy
[ARABNEWS] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
's former President Abdullah Gul has called for the country to pursue a "more realistic" foreign policy, in one of his most significant political interventions since leaving office, reports said Sunday.

Gul, president from 2007-2014, made the thinly-veiled attack on the government's foreign policy late Saturday at a fast-breaking dinner for the holy month of Ramadan also attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
.

Gul cofounded the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) with Erdogan. But tensions between the two men have been an open secret since Gul handed over the presidency to Erdogan in August 2014.

"To be frank, I think it would be beneficial to review our policies in the Middle East and the Arab world with a more realistic approach," the Dogan news agency quoted Gul as saying at the post-dinner speech in Istanbul.

"Another big development is promised in the region and if a great chaos emerges we could be faced with surprises that we never considered before," he added.

Gul said Turkey needed to go back to being an "inspiration" in the region and develop its relations with all the countries, including current foes like Egypt.

Commentators have criticized foreign policy under Erdogan for being overly ambitious, with Ankara seeking to make Turkey the central power of the Middle East as under the Ottoman Empire.

However from Egypt to Israel, Turkey has poor relations with many countries in the region and has tricky ties with the West. It has also so far failed in its aim to oust Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Despoiler of Deraa...
.

Prime Minister and former Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has been repeatedly mocked for explaining Turkey's foreign policy as "zero problems with neighbors", with critics saying exactly the opposite is the case.

Mexico's billion-dollar drugs lord threatens Donald Trump on Twitter account 'run by his son'
[DAILYMAIL.CO.UK] Mexico's billion dollar drugs lord known as 'El Chapo' has gloated on Twitter about his escape from a maximum security jail by taunting authorities and threatening US-presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

Joaquin Guzman, billionaire head of the powerful Sinaloa Cartel, made his jail break on Saturday morning and is on the run from Altiplano jail, 50 miles outside of Mexico City, security officials said.

His audacious escape saw him dash through the mile-long tunnel system, which led to a building under construction next to the prison - from where he collected clothes left for him by his conspirators.

But following his escape he has took to Twitter and used it to hit back at Trump, who has said that the Guzman embodies 'everything that is wrong with Mexico' and added he would 'kick his ass'.

On the account, administered by Guzman's son Ivan, the escapee reportedly wrote: 'If you keep p****** me off I'm going to make you eat your words you f****** blonde milk-s*****'.

In Mexico, a milk-s****** is a homophobic slur.

The property magnate is taking the threat seriously.

According to TMZ the billionaire has called in the FBI to investigate the source of the Twitter account which warned Trump he would be sorry he spoke out against Mexico.

He also took aim at the Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto saying: ''And you @EPN, don't call me a delinquent because I give people work unlike you you cowardly politician.'

The drugs lord's account became particularly active yesterday, when many believe it was Guzman himself sending messages of victory and threatening his enemies with gruesome death.

He also posted: 'Never say never, this world keeps turning. In this life, he who risks nothing cannot win'.

He followed up with 'There's no jail for such a big midget' as El Chapo means midget in Spanish as Guzman measures only five foot six inches tall.

IRS' Lerner close friends with leader who targeted Scott Walker
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] The official behind the IRS

She was held in contempt of Congress for her role in the IRS targeting of regime political enemies and refusing to testify. The dog ate her computer's hard drive with all her emails on it...
, was friends with the Wisconsin regulator who targeted Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's conservative aides and allies.

Lerner and Kevin Kennedy, director of the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board, were friends for 20 years and traded emails on campaign finance, politics, and personal matters between 2011 and 2013, emails obtained by the Wall Street Journal reveal. That was the same time frame the IRS increased its harassment of conservative groups and Wisconsin prosecutors conducted a secret John Doe probe of Walker's allies, raising the troubling question of whether they coordinated their investigations.

After Walker's victory in a recall election, Lerner's long time friend Kennedy helped Milwaukee County prosecutors conduct an onerous, several-year investigation into Walker's political allies, complete with secret subpoenas for phone, text message and email records and armed, middle of the night raids on Walker associates' homes.

Under Kennedy, the Government Accountability Board hired four Sherlocks to conduct the probe and set aside staff for the investigation, according to WSJ.

Ostensibly the purpose of the investigation was to determine whether Walker's campaign had illegally colluded with conservative groups, after Walker had busted state employee unions and Wisconsin Democrats lost the state election recall to Walker.

Altaf accuses Rangers chief of violating army code of conduct
[DAWN] Muttahida Qaumi Movement
...English: United National Movement, generally known as MQM, is the 3rd largest political party and the largest secular political party in Pakistain with particular strength in Sindh. From 1992 to 1999, the MQM was the target of the Pak Army's Operation Cleanup leaving thousands of urdu speaking civilians dead...
chief Altaf Hussain
...think of the head of the Barzini clan, only in Urdu...
has called upon the army chief to take notice of the alleged violation of army's code of conduct by the director general of Sindh Rangers and other officials and urged him to do justice in the matter.

"Are Rangers a security force or a political party? Does the code of conduct of the armed forces allow the army, its paramilitary forces like Rangers, etc, to issue a charge-sheet against a political party," Mr Hussain asked while addressing from London a convention of party workers here on Sunday.

"We are not against the army; we are against the rotten eggs in the institution... Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif should save Pakistain and throw out the rotten eggs who have embezzled billions of rupees like civilians," he said.

The speech was apparently in response to media reports that quoted Rangers sources as saying the paramilitary force was going to release a factsheet in a couple of days about the March 11 raid on MQM's Nine Zero headquarters in Azizabad.

Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
no group including the Taliban has so far grabbed credit for Khost bombing.

National Defence militia despised and humiliated by Syrian regime: leaks
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Another leaked document from the National Defence forces in Yarmouk camp for Paleostinian refugees, showed the humiliating treatment they receive from the regime's intelligence.

Within the series "National Defence Militia under spotlight", Zaman al-Wasl is publishing leaked documents to show the extend of violation of law and human right, besides unacceptable practices of the National defence militia, which are one of the main forces the Syrian regime uses to suppress the Syrian people.

The document is a report sent from the commander of the National Defence militia in Yarmouk camp to Paleostine intelligence branch informing him about an incidence happen to two Paleostinian members of his militia at the new year eve in Daf ashouk area, Eissa Mohammed Abo Sweid and Samer Ali Hassan, when they were in their way back home after finishing a task and they were stopped by members of "Dawriyat branch" who demanded them to show their identity and to hand their arms. However,
some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go...
Eissa and Samer refused that and said they would hand their arms only to their commander.

Afterward, according to the report, Dawriyat's members threatened the two militia members with arms and hit them and enjugged
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
them after forcing them to hand their arms.

The commander of the National defence forces mentioned that his members were humiliated and sworn at and accused of being thieves with all the National Defence forces as well.

The National Defence commander begged the intelligence branch to free his members without mentioning any accountability to Dawriyat's members for their acts and humiliating his member, which indicate the type of relationship between the two sides, in which the intelligence suppress and scorn the national defence forces.

[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] A leaked document from the archive of the Syrian regime showed that in 2015, the Syrian regime reported 686 defected soldiers and officers, most of them were of relatively high ranks, as almost 53% of them were sergeant and first sergeants, and dozens of commanders.

Moreover, many of them were from very known Alawite families, even from the Assad (Hazem and Moeen), the Makhlouf , Bashar's mother family(10 officers and soldiers) and the Shalish, Bashar's aunt family, (4). Other well known Alawite families like Ismael (31), Deeb (17), Jdid (13), Saqer (13), Haifa (3), Dweri (4) Bilal (4), Rawaa (3), and others.

The ranks of defected officers varies as 225 of them were ground forces commanders, 7 landing commanders, 24 scout commanders, 23 tanks' commanders, 15 commanders of cannon group.

Unconfirmed figures say around 100,000 soldiers and krazed killer loyal to al-Assad have been killed in four-year armed conflict.

The newly high record of defectors has reflected the amounting outrage of Assad's fellow Alawite sect, especially in his hometown of Qardaha near Latakia.

More than 3,000 fighters from Qardaha have been killed during the conflict, activists say.

The traditional home of the Assad family, which has ruled Syria since 1970, was a main supplier for Shabiha militia.

The village in the mountains overlooking the coastal town of Latakia, believed to be the last bulwark for Assad's family.

Activists said Assad's main mission now is to rebuild trust. Some Alawites social media activists called for a new man to protect them.

Last two months marked humiliating deafest on Assad's forces inflicted by rebel groups as well the Alawite villages have been a clear target for constant shelling by Fatah Army what sparked a state of fear and panic amid its people.

Syria's conflict began in March 2011 as popular protests against four decades of Assad family rule but changed into armed insurgency under a security force crackdown.

North Mexico Gunfight Leaves Six Dead
[ALMANAR.LB] Gunmen attacked a police convoy in northern Mexico's violence-plagued city of Matamoros on Saturday, sparking a clash that left five suspects and one officer dead.

The clash erupted after four carloads of armed civilians opened fire on Tamaulipas state and federal police in the city that borders Texas, authorities said.

Four of the suspects were killed inside a car, which struck a restaurant's metal gate, the Tamaulipas state government said in a statement.

A state police officer was maimed and later died in a hospital.

The other assailants were able to escape following a car chase, except for one who was bumped off.

Following the shootout, police chased a different group of criminals and two bystanders were maimed by bullets fired by the suspects, the government said. The injured civilians were out of danger.

Mexican Illegal Alien Arrested For Allegedly Kidnapping, Raping 13-Year-Old
[BREITBART] While outfits like the Immigration Policy Center say Americans ought to stop believing their lying eyes and understand that the more undocumented Democrats stream across the border, the more crime rates fall, the reality is much darker.

On Thursday, Michigan police incarcerated
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
a Mexican illegal alien, 23-year-old Aurelio Hernandez-Gomez, after finding him with a 13-year-old Florida girl who had last been seen two days before her ordeal.

Cops acted on a tip that led them to a Hartford home where Hernandez-Gomez hid the girl while assaulting her.

Michigan authorities charged Hernandez-Gomez with one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, meaning they believe he raped or otherwise penetrated the girl after incapacitating her or otherwise rendering her helpless. They have not released further details, such as whether or not the victim was related to the alien suspect. Hernandez-Gomez is being held on $150,000 bond in a Paw Paw Michigan jail and will be back in court on Wednesday.

Florida authorities plan to charge him with interference with child custody and felony kidnapping, according to WZZM 13, after Michigan ships him back to Polk County, Florida at an unspecified date. U.S. Immigration Customs and Enforcement has been notified, but it's unclear how they will proceed.

Hernandez-Gomez hails from Chiapas, Mexico, where the sexual age of consent is 12.
Regardless, kidnapping and rape are also illegal in Chiapas. Enjoy prison, pendejo.

#1  If Americans committed the same level of murder, rape, and assault in Mexico and Central America that their brethren do in America, the borders would have been closed to the Yankee years ago. You certainly wouldn't be seeing HGTV house hunters international filming in such countries because no one would be permitted to sale land to such a plague.

#2  You mean Trump was right, illegal aliens actually are raping young uns?

#3  Open border means no background checks. IOW, we don't know who is coming across the border. Most of them are probably honest, fun loving, hard working, family oriented people looking for work and a chance to improve their lives. I've met quite a few like that. But you're also gonna get rapists, murderers and narco terrorists. So, yeah. Trump was right.
