Last month, President Trump warned of a potential violation notice, saying the city was allowing needles and human waste to go through storm drains to the ocean -- an allegation denied by city officials.
EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler also sent Gov. Gavin Newsom a letter last week alleging waste left by the homeless in San Francisco and other cities was being improperly handled.
Mayor London Breed says the violation notice contains "mischaracterizations, inaccuracies and falsehoods" and says the city's sewer system is one of the most effective in the country.
California has filed dozens of lawsuits against Trump administration policies.

[9to5mMac]There is controversy today after Apple removed a Hong Kong protest app from the App Store. The developers claim that the app helps people avoid trouble spots and comply with the law, while Apple says that it's intended to circumvent the law.
It's currently unclear whether Apple made its own decision to remove the HKmap Live app, or whether it acted at the request of the Chinese government…
...
It could be used by protesters who want to evade the police, or it could be used to allow citizens to avoid trouble spots where there is a danger of being caught up in conflicts between the police and protesters. [Although this may be innocent, Apple has been cooperating with the PRC oppression for 2 years now by reducing access to various apps. Similarly Google has assisted the oppression enthusiastically also by providing tracking applications]

[Dhaka Tribune] Harkat-ul Jihad al-Islami Bangladesh (HuJI Founded in 1984 by Fazlur Rehman Khalil and Qari Saifullah Aktar. The Bangla branch was established in 1992 with assistance from Osama bin Laden. Recruits come mostly from Deobandi madrassahs. HuJI and Fazlur Rehman Khalil are signators of bin Laden's declaration of war on civilization. B) leader Mohammad Atiqullah, an Afghan-war returnee, met al-Qaeda leader the late Osama bin Laden ...... who is now among the dear departed, though not among the dearest...... in Afghanistan during the war that started in 2001.
Atiqullah, who was arrested in Dhaka on Wednesday, had multiple meetings with top krazed killer leaders, including Laden, Mullah Mohammad Blinky Omar ...a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. The imposition of Pashtunkhwa on the nation institutionalized ignorance and brutality in a country already notable for its own fair share of ignorance and brutality. Died of an unspecified ailment in a Pak hospital... , and Ayman al-Zawahiri ...Formerly second in command of al-Qaeda, now the head cheese, occasionally described as the real brains of the outfit. Formerly the Mister Big of Egyptian Islamic Jihad. Bumped off Abdullah Azzam with a car boom in the course of one of their little disputes. Is thought to have composed bin Laden's fatwa entitled World Islamic Front Against Jews and Crusaders. Currently residing in the North Wazoo area assuming he's not dead like Mullah Omar. He lost major face when he ordered the nascent Islamic State to cease and desist and merge with the orthodox al-Qaeda spring, al-Nusra... , according to police.
Bin Laden, who ordered the September 11 attacks in 2001, was killed by US forces during a raid in Abbottabad ... A pleasant city located only 30 convenient miles from Islamabad. The city is noted for its nice weather and good schools. It is the site of Pakistain's military academy, which was within comfortable walking distance of the residence of the late Osama bin Laden.... , Pakistain, in May 2011.
On Wednesday evening, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit picked up Atiqullah, alias Asadullah, alias Zulfiqar, 49, and two of his associates, Mohammad Borhan Uddin Rabbani, 42, and Mohammad Nazim Uddin, alias Shamim, 43, from a playground near Boro Mosque in Nikunja 2.
During interrogation, Atiqullah told them about his meetings with bin Laden and other krazed killer leaders and his ties to al-Qaeda, according to CTTC sources.
Informed that several HuJIB men had gathered at a playground for a secret meeting, a CTTC team conducted a raid there, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman,on Thursday.
He also said Atiqullah was an organizing secretary of the committee of HuJIB formed by Mufti Hannan in 1996, and was later assigned to oversee the Baitul Mal and International Relations Department of the organization.
CTTC sources said that during the tenure of the last caretaker government, he went into hiding in Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... and visited Pakistain multiple times for krazed killer activities.
in primary interrogation, police learned that Atiqullah has connections with krazed killer groups in other countries, including Pakistain, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, sources at the CTTC said.
A CTTC official related to the investigation said Atiqullah also told police that he is a bomb specialist. After being exiled abroad for long, he returned to Bangladesh in March this year, and had been trying to contact old members of the krazed killer outfit to reorganize it.
He also had been trying to recruit new members to speed up HuJIB's activities in the upcoming days, he said.
The CTTC official said Atiqullah also made organizational visits to various places across the country, and raised money from both domestic and foreign sources, to mobilize the organization.
Najim, one of two other persons arrested besides Atiqullah, is a secretary of the HuJIB Dhaka Metropolitan South unit, while the other person arrested, Rabbani was given the responsibility of handling Feni district.
Recently, the three, Atiqullah, Najim, and Rabbani, were trying to reorganize the group, focusing on India's Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... and Rohingya issues, said the official.
DC Masudur Rahman said a case has been filed in this connection with Khilkhet cop shoppe under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
[PJ] WASHINGTON -- Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper suggested the creation of a "national fact checker" who would monitor social media for false information.
"I've often fantasized about some sort of national fact-checker -- unassociated with the government, perhaps," said Clapper, who served in the Obama administration as the director of National Intelligence from 2010-2017, during the Washington Post's Cybersecurity Summit on Wednesday. "I don't know quite how you would constitute this that the fact-checker would be seen as uniformly, universally credible, but somebody like that, that could verify or refute what's being said out there particularly on social media."
[Breitbart] Film students at the University of Southern California are protesting against a campus exhibit dedicated to the life and films of John Wayne.
According to a report by the USC student newspaper, a group of student protesters is pushing back against an on-campus exhibit dedicated to the films of Hollywood legend John Wayne.
Eric Plant, a junior at USC, created a banner that he intends to display outside of the film school."By keeping Wayne’s legacy alive, SCA is endorsing white supremacy," Plant’s banner reads.
"I’m going to go every minute that I have and stand there," Plant stated. "I had conversations while I was standing there, and I was getting people to support it. I would like to keep being there and keep having a presence there."
The criticisms of Wayne are in part based on a 1971 Playboy interview in which Wayne said that he believed in "white supremacy" and defended the taking of the land that became America from the Native Americans.
"I believe in white supremacy," Wayne said during the interview. "We can’t all of a sudden get down on our knees and turn everything over to the leadership of the Blacks."
"I don’t feel we did wrong in taking this great country away from them," Wayne added. "Our so-called stealing of this country from them was a matter of survival. There were great numbers of people who needed new land, and the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves."
USC’s Interim Assistant Dean of Diversity and Inclusion Evan Hughes offered a vague statement to the student newspaper in response to the student protests.
"Our values as an inclusive community are predicated on the idea that our student population needs to be heard and have a say about our SCA environment, especially when information comes to light that changes how we relate to it," Hughes said in a short comment.

I wonder if John Wayne actually said 'white supremacy'? I somehow doubt it.
Indeed. Turns out he did use those words, but the rest of the sentence gets clipped and removes the context. From a Playboy mag interview in 1971:
Playboy: Angela Davis [a Communist professor in the San Francisco Bay Area] claims that those who would revoke her teaching credentials on ideological grounds are actually discriminating against her because she’s black. Do you think that’s true?
Wayne: With a lot of blacks, there’s quite a bit of resentment along with their dissent, and possibly rightfully so. But we can’t all of a sudden get down on our knees and turn everything over to the leadership of the blacks. I believe in white supremacy until the blacks are educated to a point of responsibility. I don’t believe in giving authority and positions of leadership and judgment to irresponsible people.

I distinctly remember buying that issue of Playboy so I could read the interview.
I can believe it. "I just read Playboy for the articles" was a running joke, but at one time, in addition to pix of naked persons of the female persuasion, the mag ran some great fiction and had interesting interviews with famous people. No idea about current content, but I'd wager that, like The Atlantic and Scientific American, it has turned to SJW crap.
[CNN] Four people have been killed in the stabbing at the Paris police headquarters, according to CNN affiliate BFM TV.
Loïc Travers, secretary of the French police union National Police Alliance for Île-de-France region, which encompasses the capital, told BFM TV that five were dead, including the attacker.
The motive of the attacker, who was a longtime administrative employee for the police, is still unknown.
"He has been with us for over 20 years," Travers said, speaking outside the police headquarters.

[DailyMail] A deaf civilian police worker who had recently converted to Islam was shot dead in Paris today after murdering four colleagues with a ceramic knife following a 'dispute over working with female colleagues'.
Michael Harpon, 45, caused the bloodbath in the French capital's historic Police Prefecture, next door to Notre Dame Cathedral.
Investigators have not ruled out a possible terrorist motivation for the Thursday afternoon attack, which left a woman and three men dead.
All were repeatedly stabbed by Harpon, who had worked in the IT department at the Prefecture since 2003, in the worst loss of French police lives in a single day since World War II.
Harpon had recently been reprimanded by his female boss over his refusal to interact with women, reported.
Within hours of the attack, anti-terrorist officers had raided Harpon's flat in an apartment block at Gonesse, a suburb some 12 miles from the scene of the attack.
His wife, Iham, was arrested, as an investigating source said that the nature of Harpon's attack corresponded with similar ones carried out by terrorists affiliated to Islamic State and Al-Qaeda.
'An investigation has been launched into a grudge the assailant may have held against his colleagues, but terrorism cannot be ruled out,' said the source.
'Many of those involved in similar attacks on the police have been Muslim converts influenced by radical terrorist groups.'
Christophe Crépin, spokesman for the union France Police Policeman in Anger, told : 'I know this man. He worked in IT and he had long-running problems with his superior. He stabbed her first and then colleagues intervened and were stabbed as well. I am told he then got hold of a firearm.'
Harpon, who was deaf since childhood, was originally from the Caribbean island of Martinique – a French overseas territory.
He had been married since 2014, and converted to his wife's religion in 2018 before they had their first child together.
An eye witness to the attack, which happened just after 1pm, said: 'I saw a man with a knife in his hand.
'He was running after a policeman. He was told to drop his knife, but he did not stop and the policeman fired.
'At first I thought it was a training exercise, but no. The policeman, who was on a break, shouted out three warnings, but the assailant would not stop. The police officer fired two shots and then the assailant fell.'
Harpon originally attacked three male officers in two offices on the first floor of the Prefecture, and then took his knife to two females – one died, and another was seriously injured.
None of Harpon's victims have been identified by name.
A ceramic knife would not have activated metal detectors, and Harpon would not have been searched.
Harpon worked directly to the Directorate of Intelligence of the Prefecture of Police, or DRPP.
[NYP June 9, 2017] The wild-child niece of former Veep Joe Biden stole more than $100,000 in a credit card scam ‐ and quietly cut a plea deal in Manhattan court that spares her any jail time, The Post has learned.
Using a borrowed credit card, the blonde Caroline Biden
set up an unauthorized customer account at Bigelow Pharmacy on Sixth Avenue in Greenwich Village, and racked up the six-figure bill over the course of a year, according to a criminal complaint that does not name the victim card owner.
As part of a plea deal before Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Kevin McGrath, Biden, 29, pleaded guilty to one charge of grand larceny and another of petit larceny and agreed to make restitution of $110,810.04.
If she pays everything back and keeps her nose clean, she can return to court and enter a substitute plea to a lower, misdemeanor charge of petit larceny and be sentenced to two years probation. clever reference to Hunter "the vacuum"
But she’ll stay out of jail even if she fails to live up to the plea deal, instead getting sentenced on the felony larceny to five years probation.
[NYP] Ukraine’s former top prosecutor told Rudy Giuliani earlier this year that he was indeed asked to back off any probe of a natural gas company linked to Joe Biden’s son, according to a copy of Giuliani’s notes obtained by Fox News.
During the pair’s Jan. 23, 2019, phone call, scandal-scarred ex-prosecutor Viktor Shokin told Giuliani that his "investigations stopped out of fear of the United States," after a top diplomat asked that he use "kid gloves" in pursuing the company, according to the notes of President Trump’s personal attorney, reported by the outlet.
"Mr. Shokin attempted to continue the investigations but on or around June or July of 2015, the U.S. Ambassador [to Ukraine] Geoffrey R. Pyatt told him that the investigation has to be handled with white gloves, which according to Mr. Shokin, that implied do nothing," the notes from the phone call state.
Shokin was booted from his post in April 2016, amid accusations of corruption, including that his office was blocking major cases against allies and influential figures.
In March 2016, Biden, as vice president, had threatened to cut off $1 billion in guaranteed loans unless Ukraine ditched Shokin.

Per Wiki - U.S. Ambassador [to Ukraine] Geoffrey R. Pyatt was a Soetoro appointee who enjoyed dabbling in regime change. Apparently things may have become a little hot at the Kyiv mission, and in May of 2015 Pyatt was transferred to Greece.
I recommend the Villa Agazini on Corfu for week ends. Great views and excellent security profile.
Geoffrey Pyatt might be someone Bill Barr would wish to talk to, unless of course John Brennan voiced some objection.

[Washington Examiner] Legendary operatic tenor Plácido Domingo has resigned from his role as general director of the Los Angeles Opera nearly two months after numerous accusations of sexual misconduct surfaced.
The departure puts the 78-year-old's U.S. career into question, according to the Associated Press. Domingo still has support and performs in venues across Europe.
"I hold Los Angeles Opera very dearly to my heart and count my work to create and build it as among my most important legacies," Domingo said in a statement.
"However, recent accusations that have been made against me in the press have created an atmosphere in which my ability to serve this company that I so love has been compromised," Domingo said. "It is in the best interests of LA Opera for me to resign as general director and withdraw from my future scheduled performances at this time."
Domingo pledged to work to clear his name.
In August, dozens of women accused Domingo of using his powerful position within the opera industry to solicit sexual relationships from them. The Los Angeles Opera announced it would investigate the renowned opera singer in wake of the allegations.
Many of the accusers said Domingo's alleged behavior is an open secret in the industry, but he has used his position and clout to silence and discredit women that accused him of improper sexual conduct.
[Washington Examiner] Former CIA Director John Brennan said he is "concerned" about the Justice Department's review of the origins of the Russia investigation.
The "investigation into the investigators" has been underway since the spring, and reports this week showed Attorney General William Barr has taken a more expansive role in it than previously known, pressing foreign leaders to cooperate with the DOJ.
During an interview Wednesday, Brennan said he is "supposedly" going to be interviewed by John Durham, the U.S. attorney tasked with leading the review. Brennan said by all accounts Durham is a man of "integrity" but added Barr has proven himself to be the "president's attorney."
"Given that Barr is now accompanying Durham on these things, it really makes me think that the hand of politics and of Trump are now being used to massage what this ongoing review quasi-investigation is. So I am concerned," Brennan said on MSNBC.

[PJ] WASHINGTON -- Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said that there isn't a "deep state" effort to undermine President Donald Trump but the whistleblower complaint about his call with the Ukraine president from someone in the intelligence community "fuels that conspiratorial fire." "Said Clapper, the known liar"
"Well, I never heard of the term deep state, maybe I was, you know, ignorant or bliss or something, but I never heard of that until the campaign and afterwards. Allegedly this is a conspiracy of career government public servants who somehow organize themselves into a conspiracy to undermine or overthrow the president, which on its face is ridiculous," Clapper said during the Washington Post's Cybersecurity Summit on Wednesday.
[Townhall] House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes (R-CA) on Wednesday told Fox News' Martha MacCallum he believes the whistleblower complaint filed against President Donald Trump for a call made with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky "reads like the Steele dossier."
"We learned about this three weeks ago on a late Friday night press release that was multiple pages long, about a paragraph long," Nunes said about the whistleblower complaint.
Nunes comments come after it was learned that Schiff knew about the whistleblower's complaint a month before it was brought to the Intelligence Committee.
"We got that, Republicans receive that, what on Earth is going on here. All of you in the press office, why is this being pumped up as big," he said. "A few days later after a briefing, Schiff briefs us a little bit on this and claims he doesn’t know exactly what this is, but it must be really important."
"Those are just two sets of facts that clearly he’s trying to pump up and promote this story. And that we find out that, yeah, because his staff knew about it ahead of time," he said. "The thing not clear is when did they actually find out about it. We still don’t have a date, when did the whistleblower start talking to the Democrats of the Intelligence Committee? It would’ve been very easy to just tell us. He had multiple opportunities to tell."
[Breitbart] Wednesday on his nationally syndicated radio show, conservative talker Rush Limbaugh took a jab at Fox News for the airtime the cable news network was allotting for critics of President Donald Trump.
Based on that, Limbaugh suggested Fox News Channel change its name to "the Fox Never Trumper Network."
Partial transcript as follows (courtesy RushLimbaugh.com):
There’s something interesting about this impeachment inquiry, ladies and gentlemen, because they are doing it in the Intelligence Committee. One of the things Trump said, by the way, is that Adam Schiff should have should be charged with treason. Now, you think, "Well, wuh, wuh?"
Well, Schiff is out there as the chairman of a committee, the Intelligence Committee, openly lying about the president’s phone call with the president of Ukraine ‐ and he lied about it again today in his joint press conference with Pelosi. He literally said that the president told the Ukrainian president to "create dirt," to "make it up, as much as you can." When the Republicans finally called him on it, Schiff said, "Well, I was just engaging parody. I’m sorry it wasn’t seen."
Well, look, you have the sense of humor of a snail. Nobody thinks anything about you is funny, Pencil Neck. It wasn’t parody, anyway ‐ and if you have to tell somebody that you’ve just done parody, it was very bad parody. It was not parody. It was an attempt to purposely misstate and mischaracterize the words and the actions of the president of the United States. They’re trying to create the illusion that Trump is a mob boss and he was ordering somebody, "Make up dirt or else we’re not gonna give you the money ‐ or worse."
None of what they are saying happened in that phone call did, and we’ve even got Never Trumpers now all over Fox News, "Well, this phone call is very hard to defend. I wouldn’t want to have to defend this phone call. If I were the Republicans, I wouldn’t want..." There’s nothing hard to defend about the phone call! You just don’t want to defend it! You know, Fox really ought to change the name of the network from the Fox News Channel to the Fox Never Trumper Network, because that’s who’s getting the highlights, and they’re bringing in Democrats like Donna Brazile.
What do you mean, "The phone call’s hard to defend"? The phone call’s not hard to defend, and Trump isn’t hard to defend! But if Trump is hard to defend, what about conservatism, you Never Trumpers? Can you defend that? Do you not understand that conservatism’s under assault? You may not be because you’re renouncing conservatism to sidle up with these guys that you don’t want to be criticized by. So you’d rather be friends with these nincompoops on the left than have to defend your own side and defend your own beliefs!

In this stunning work of investigative journalism, filmmaker Joel Gilbert uncovers the true story of the shooting of Trayvon Martin, a case that divided America. By examining Trayvon’s 750-page phone records, Gilbert discovers that Rachel Jeantel, the key witness whose testimony led to the prosecution of George Zimmerman, was a fraud. Gilbert's research takes him to the high schools of Miami Gardens, into the back alleys of Little Haiti, and finally to Florida State University where he finds Trayvon's real girlfriend, Diamond Eugene, the girl who actually was on the phone with Trayvon in his final minutes. Gilbert confirms his revelations with forensic handwriting analysis and DNA testing. He then exposes in detail the most consequential hoax in recent judicial history and reveals how The Trayvon Hoax was ground zero for the downward spiral of race relations in America. This incredible film and book have the potential to bring America back together again.

Not w/o the black community acknowledging the deceit, trumped up racism and destruction and then making amends.
I wouldn't hold my breath on amends, but there are signs that the black community is beginning to wake up and realize it has been played, starting way back when with LBJ's Great Society. Candice Owens, for example, is pushing back against what has been a very lucrative hustle. She is not the only one. I see it as a positive sign.
Multiculturalists, being devoid of convincing arguments, use black slavery as a club to beat white people into submission. After clubbing by academia, media, and others, many whites have capitulated to the progressives’ guilt-preaching that has produced copious tears because of their cursed whiteness and white privilege.
...Sorry, but I have no guilt for slavery. Consequently, I will not pay a dollar of reparations because of those blacks who are full-time victims wallowing in self-pity looking for lifetime handouts.
Since their dishonest, dishonorable, and disgraceful ploy will not work, I suggest the do-gooders (as opposed to those who do good) turn their efforts elsewhere -- for example, to the actual slavery existing throughout the world. They should do something lasting rather than preach an empty message for financial gain and personal influence.
...If the fanatic slavery whiners really do care about slavery, they can do something about the overt slavery in Mali, where at least 200,000 people are held in direct servitude. In March 2002, French television channel TF1 reported how about 15,000 children were abducted from Mali and sold as slaves to work the cotton plantations in the Ivory Coast.
...Maybe one country is not enough of a challenge, so let them take a shot at world slavery. The Topical Research Digest: Human Rights and Contemporary Slavery reports about 27 million slaves worldwide. However, it reveals that "Some human rights organizations have the number as high as 200 million."

My own modest proposal as regards for reparations for slavery in the US, as I posted on Chicagoboyz some months ago -
"I put forth a modest counter-proposal, acknowledging that yes, IF there should be reparations paid in this day for the institution of chattel slavery, for the malignant practices of the Jim Crow laws, and local law-enforced racial segregation, and the depredations of the KKK, which cruelly impacted Black Americans, such reparations ought to and should be paid by the Democrat Party."

Reparations should only be paid by slave owners, and only to people who were slaves.
Race-based reparations would mean people like Obama, who had no slave ancestry but did (I think) have slave-owner ancestry would be getting paid by descendants of the hundreds of thousands who died freeing the slaves.

One step above slavery in cultures based on feudal social structures is the role of serfdom. Generally tied to location and given obligations to work for their feudal lord, they gave a quarter to a third of their crops in taxation and survived on the balance. If you look at America’s social structure today and change the titles from Duke, Earl, Baron etc to the special roles we give celebrities, high visibility political figures and the ranks of the wealthy, the parallels are striking. Hereditary power, fame, special rules and accommodations, different justice systems, arrogance, elitism.... and above all, the looting of the public trust, treasury and tax farming the serfs. Sound familiar?

Why, that’s not right at all. They would replace Donald Trump with…Mike Pence, who will probably do the same things that have made Trump so successful without all the tweeting.

[Townhall] In these times of near civil war, Americans agree on almost nothing. Yet sometime in 2019, almost all of America finally got "woke" on China.
For years, our leaders had yawned about Silk Road neo-imperialism in Africa and Asia, and gross abuses of human rights against Chinese religious minorities and political dissidents.
Almost every assumption Washington made, both by Democratic and Republican administrations, was logically flawed at best. And at worst, these calculations were a weird mix of conservative commercial greed, liberal political correctness and shared screwball naivete.
American trade and political appeasement were never interpreted by Beijing as magnanimity to be reciprocated, but always as weakness to be exploited. It was always ludicrous to think that the more concessions on trade and human rights the United States gave, the more China would Westernize and begin to resemble America or an EU nation.
Even sillier was the old shibboleth that China's embrace of capitalist reforms -- as if by some unwritten, determinist economic law -- would lead to constitutional government. But the ability to buy a new cellphone never ensures the right to vote for a candidate of one's choice.
Instead, all China did was auction off large sections of its new and more efficient economy to crony communist pseudo-capitalists and corrupt provincial officials in order to modernize the country, beef up the military, warp the international trading system -- and make itself very rich.
Why did America act in such a suicidal way on China?
Cheap Chinese labor and lax American laws motivated hundreds of U.S. corporations to shut down their domestic assembly plants and relocate to China. At least at first, they were free to pay substandard wages and were mostly unregulated.
Once American businesses got hooked on mega-profits, the Chinese government slowly started stealing their technology, infringing on copyrights and patents, dumping their own merchandise on the world market at prices below production costs, running up huge trade surpluses and manipulating their currency.
But by then, American corporations were so addicted to laissez-faire profit-making that they turned a blind eye and paid their hush money.
Universities cashed in too, both by setting up lucrative satellite campuses in China and admitting tens of thousands of Chinese citizens. These Chinese students paid full tuition (and sometimes premiums and surcharges), turning once cash-strapped campuses into profitable degree mills.
Most college deans and presidents simply ignored the dreadful human rights record of China, not to mention occasional expatriate espionage rings designed to steal engineering and high-tech research.
...The domestic winners in the appeasement of Communist China were the two American coasts -- the New York financial industry, the Washington political lobbying nexus, Silicon Valley's high-tech companies, and the coastal mega-research universities such Harvard, Stanford and Yale.
Suddenly, the intellectual and informational classes could sell their wares in a new global market, and they profited enormously.
Few cared about the "losers" in the now-hollowed-out Midwest and in rural America. For corporate America, domestic muscular labor could be easily and cheaply replaced by millions of Chinese workers. Outsourcing and offshoring pulled investment capital out of America and put it overseas, as Chinese-assembled products brought far greater profits.

The only possible explanation - the one that future historians will almost certainly agree upon - for such an unbelievably self-destructive policy as prostrating ourselves before China and enabling them to go from near-subsistence to our only global rival is corruption.
Kissinger has made a killing in China, as have hundreds of lobbyists.
Investment banks have made a killing advising Chinese firms.
Hedge funds have scarfed up a total of trillions in
Chinese assets under management, pocketing many billions in management fees.
CEOs have shaved costs and increased their profits by outsourcing most of our manufacturing supply chain
to China.
Where does our shitty political class head when they're done with Washington?
To lobbying/PR and consulting firms such as Kissinger's.
To Goldman and other Wall Street trading houses.
To the big banks, the hedge funds and private equity funds.
To the boards of publicly-traded Fortune 500 companies.
All of them have lined their pockets with golden crumbs from China's table.
None of these bastards is suffering what over 100 million Americans have had to contend with for the last 30+ years: shit wages, zero job security, sideways home equity if they even have any, shitty schools for the kids.
And all of it surrounded by the constant drumbeat of an insane mantra of globalism, global citizens with global virtues creating a new "flat" global order that will reward the supposedly "superior" and more "productive" Chinese and other third worlders instead of supposedly lazy, drug-addled, above all, racist Americans.
Screw these morons. What they have done with their insane China policy is criminal.
It reads like something out of the history books about the follies and madness of the German Foreign Office that led to WWI, or the foolish miscalculations that led to the Peloponnesian War.

Ditto for open borders and mass illegal immigration from Mexico and Central America.
Madness. Impossible to explain other than with simple corruption.
Does anyone remember when then-VP AL Gore tried to shut down Ross Perot's critique of NAFTA by promising the nation that the trade deal would REDUCE illegal immigration?
How on earth did our political class go from defending American workers - or at least trying to mount a defense of US workers - to this unbelievable stage where literally everyone in DC (except maybe a few oddballs such as Trump, Sanders, and Sherrod Brown) believes that native-born US workers are despicable lowlifes who deserve not only to be made poor but also to be castigated as inferior to supposedly hardworking, upright "God's people" in the form of illiterate peasant indios from abroad?
What the hell happened to this country?
How did we get saddled with such a shitty, stupid, thoroughly corrupt political class?
And No, I don't agree that "we get the political class we deserve." No one in his right mind would vote for these greedy, cynical, incompetent fools.

Here's a typical bio of one of the sleek fools who've botched so much of our foreign policy for over two decades and then landed in fields of gold post-Langley.
After helping Tenet botch the Iraq intel, this one landed nicely in a series of exec roles at Lehman (!) and Kissinger Associates, and is now raking in the $$$$ while sitting on the boards of Morgan Stanley, GM, EMC and other globalist entities that have helped China become a deadly global rival to us.

Yet sometime in 2019, almost all of America finally got "woke" on China.
As a smelly, deplorable Wal-Mart shopper, one started noticing Chinese crap @WM long before 2019. It just wasn't until Trump came along that we thought we could do anything.

I think folks believed to strongly in the J curve, that once wealthy enough nations become democracies. There examples of this happening are numerous.
So we let China get away with murder to avoid war, and with the hope we would win in the end with a massive democratic Chinese market ready for American goods.
They assumed the J-curve was some kind of law when the fact is all of the examples were in the Western Sphere already and Communist China isn't. then we continued the same game plan long after it was a failure because we had no better plan and because of massive inertia of corrupt-o-crats making money off the whole thing..
#8
Ruprecht, great analysis. Also, it was just the neocon con that the Chinese will stop being Chinese if they are rich. China has always been hegemonic, with or without money. Why did they call themselves the Middle Kingdom?
Does the concept of citizenship still have any value to these people? Rule of law?
Why is a senior law enforcement officer refusing to enforce the law against criminals?
What is this nonsense about pretending that illegal entry is not a criminal offense?
Do these people really not understand the language in the US Criminal Code (Title 8 U.S.C. § 1325):
Section 1325 sets forth criminal offenses relating to (1) improper entry into the United States by an alien, (2) entry into marriage for the purpose of evading immigration laws, and (3) establishing a commercial enterprise for the purpose of evading immigration laws. The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRIRA) amended 8 U.S.C. § 1325 to provide that an alien apprehended while entering or attempting to enter the United States at a time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil penalty.

Someone at DOJ needs to send a message to the chief -
18 U.S. Code § 2384. Seditious conspiracy
If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

Fairfax county demographics have overwhelming number of civil service employees in the adult voter roles. Even in the midst of the more or less spontaneous popular uprising, ISIS still needs to be dealt with.
Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) ‐ Iraqi military intelligence announced on Wednesday that a notorious leader of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... murderous Moslem group and four of his aides were killed during a military operation in Salahuddin province, north of Iraq.
"Troops of the Iraqi Military Intelligence Directorate, in cooperation with the 88th brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces and the Iraqi Air Force, carried out a military operation in Hamrin Mountains in Salahuddin, leaving an IS leader and four of his aides dead," Alghad Press quoted the directorate as saying in a press statement.
The IS leader was identified as Talib Garw al Azzawy, the directorate said.
The troops also destroyed nine terrorist hotbeds in the operation, added the statement.
We had the story yesterday, but Fred’s in-lines are always worth savouring.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, Major General Qassem Soleimani , told Iranian state TV on Wednesday that he was present in Leb during the 34-day-long Hezbollah-Israel War in 2006. "Yep. There I wuz..."
During the 90-minute-long interview, Soleimani detailed his role in advising Hezbollah as they faced off against the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). "... so I gets him in me sights, an' I starts squeezin' off me round..."
The Quds Force commander said he was entrenched with the Hezbollah military commander at the time, Imad Moughniyeh, who was later assassinated in Damascus by Israel in 2008. "Yessir, there we wuz, me and Imad. 'Muggsy,' we used to call him..."
He would detail how he and Hezbollah’s Secretary-General Sayyed His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah ...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb... barely escaped a bomb that struck the Lebanese group’s operations room in Beirut’s southern suburbs "Tried to blow us up, the bustards! An' him a holy man!" However, a clean conscience makes a soft pillow... Soleimani said he was not deterred after the attack, as he remained inside of Leb for much of the war. "Nah. I wasn't scared. Not me. Takes more'n a bomb or two to scare me."
Soleimani’s interview marked the first time that the commander of the Quds Force discussed his role during the 2006 War. The Quds Force commander has played a major role in several regional conflicts since 2006; these include the Iraq War (2003-2010) and Syrian Conflict (2011-Present).
[ALMASDARNEWS] A Death Eater sleeper cell attacked a civilian in the Daraa Governorate on Wednesday, shooting him dead before they could be apprehended.
According to a military source in the Daraa Governorate, the Death Eaters shot and killed the man in the al-Balad District of Daraa city after he was accused of working with the government.
The source said they were able to interview witnesses after the attack, who claimed the man was killed for working with the government.
The Daraa al-Balad District was previously controlled by the Free Syrian Army ... the more palatable version of the Syrian insurgency, heavily influenced by the Moslem Brüderbund... (FSA) and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... during their long presence inside the governorate.
[Jpost] IDF forces arrested on Wednesday three suspects who crossed the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... border fence in to Israeli territory , according to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit.
The IDF force surrounded the suspects and took them for further investigation.
Either jihadis or escapees — we might find out later.

[THEDAILYBEAST] When Attorney General William Barr showed up at the U.S. embassy’s Palazzo Margherita here on tony Via Veneto last week, he had two primary requests. He needed a conference room to meet high-level Italian security agents where he could be sure no one was listening in. And he needed an extra chair for U.S. Attorney John Durham of Connecticut, who would be sitting in as his right-hand man.
Barr was in Rome on an under-the-radar mission that was only planned a few days in advance. An official with the embassy confirmed to The Daily Beast that they had to scramble to accommodate Barr’s sudden arrival. He had been in Italia before, but not with such a clear motive. Barr and Durham are looking into the events that led to Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, and suddenly all roads were leading to Rome.
The Daily Beast has learned that Barr and Durham were especially interested in what the Italian secret service knew about Joseph Mifsud, the erstwhile professor from Malta who had allegedly promised then-candidate Donald Trump

The Popdopolus connection from the Mifsud meeting and his US Customs luggage inspection for the 10k gave me a clear understanding of how deep the corruption has gone. [DAWN] Flash-mob rallies broke out in Hong Kong on Wednesday as anger mounted over police shooting a teenage protester who attacked officers in a dramatic escalation of the violent unrest that has engulfed the territory for months.
A large crowd of demonstrators, including office workers in shirts and suits, mustered in a park and then began marching through the city's commercial district in an unsanctioned rally, chanting anti-police and anti-government slogans.
Hundreds of students also staged a sit-in at the school of 18-year-old Tsang Chi-kin, who was shot in the chest by a policeman as he and a group of masked protesters attacked officers with umbrellas and poles.
The international finance hub has been left reeling from the shooting, the first time a demonstrator has been struck with a live round in nearly four months of increasingly violent pro-democracy protests.

[Washington Examiner] As of this moment, the Iranian hardliners have the aligned motive (hatred and a need to alter the sanctions status quo), authority (Khamenei's harder line), and confidence (a belief Trump is desperate to avoid conflict) to escalate against America. It may be through proxies or Iranian operatives directly, but it is likely that Iran will soon strike American interests.
Trump must again clarify that any attack which harms American citizens will result in military retaliation.

[Jpost] Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi on Wednesday declared a curfew in Baghdad until further notice after at least seven people were killed and more than 400 were maimed during two days of nationwide anti-government protests.
Curfews were imposed earlier in three southern cities while elite counter-terrorism troops opened fire on protesters trying to storm Baghdad airport and deployed to the southern city of Nassiriya after shootouts broke out between protesters and security forces, police sources said.
"All vehicles and individuals are totally forbidden to move in Baghdad as of 5 am today, Thursday, and until further notice," Abdul Mahdi said in a written statement.

Jailed? Their bewigged mightinesses are getting a tad over-enthusiastic, methinks.
[BREITBART] A Scottish judge could force Prime Minister Boris Johnson ...pro-Brexit British prime minister, succeeding no-Brexit Theresa May. BoJo is noted as much for his sparkling personality and his hair as for his Conservative policies.... to request a Brexit extension or face a fine or imprisonment.
The legal bid has been launched by anti-Brexit campaigner Jolyon Maugham QC and member of the leftist Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP) Joanna Cherry. Both were involved in the successful Supreme Court challenge against the government over the suspension of parliament last week. The case is being funded by millionaire green energy ... the attempt to produce energy without using fossil fuel. The preferred methods are solar, wind, geothermal, phlogiston, philosophers' stones, and rattling bears' teeth. The approach with the most promise involves attaching generators to perpetual motion machines, but using Words of Power to summon energy-rich demons may also work. The green in the term refers to the vast number of dollars that have been thrown at the problem since 1973 with indifferent results... industrialist Dale Vince.
Lord Pentland, an Outer House judge, will hear the case at the Court of Session in Edinburgh on Friday. He will rule whether it should be moved to the senior part of the court, the Inner House, on Monday according to The Scotsman.
Last month, the British parliament passed a law, the Benn Act, which forces the prime minister to seek an extension of Article 50 to the end of January 2020 if he fails to pass a deal in the Commons by October 19th. The law also prevents Boris Johnson from taking the UK out of the EU without an agreement on October 31st.
However, death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate... Remain activists fear that Johnson’s team will exploit loopholes in the law and deliver Brexit on October 31st, as the prime minister has pledged "without or without a deal". Last week, a Downing Street front man said that the government "will comply with the law, but we are leaving on 31 October".
It could also be a good excuse to get the troops out of Qatar without publicly slapping the country in the face. Then just quietly put off going back to the Home of the Moslem Brüderbünd until two or three weeks after the Last Trumpet sounds.

You say: "More and more, one gets the feeling that the only competent, reasonably honest and at least minimally well-managed large institution in this country is our military." If that is so, why was the US in Qatar in the first place. The ruling al=Thani family has been for decades a major funder of the Muslim Brotherhood. Nonetheless, despite this knowledge, first the military and then the Clinton Foundation, Brookings and others NGOs have screwed around in Qatar.
[PRESSTV] The front man for Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... i Armed Forces says three Saudi military bases and more than 150 square kilometers of land have been taken during the second phase of a recent large-scale military offensive carried out by Yemeni Army troops and allied fighters from Popular Committees in the kingdom’s southern border region of Najran a city in southwestern Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... near the border with Yemen. It is the capital of the province of the same name, a favored target of Houthi rocket forces because they can see it, so there's no math involved.... Speaking at a presser in the capital Sana’a on Tuesday evening, Brigadier General Yahya Saree said video footage recorded by Yemeni forces on the second phase of Victory from God Almighty Operation attests to their full control over the Saudi military sites and seizure of considerable amounts of munitions. The offensive also resulted in the death and injury of at least 200 Saudi-led coalition soldiers.
Saree added that the second phase of the operation was launched on September 3, and that more than 150 square kilometers were purged from the presence of Saudi troopers and Saudi-sponsored Yemeni murderous Moslems loyal to Yemen's former pro-Saudi president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi. More than 120 armored vehicles were destroyed and seized in the process as well.
He said Yemeni missile defense units carried out six operations in the military campaign, most notably against Najran Regional Airport, while domestically-manufactured Yemeni combat drones struck positions inside Najran on 16 different occasions.

[PRESSTV] Riot police in Iraq have fired live rounds into the air and used tear gas to disperse protesters, who erupted into the streets in the capital, Baghdad, for a second consecutive day against what they describe as unemployment and poor public services.
Police opened fire in the al-Shaab neighborhood of north Baghdad and in Zaafaraniya, in the south, on Wednesday.
At least eight people were maimed during the protest in Zafaraniya, police sources said.
About 200 people took part in the rally in northern Baghdad and blocked a key highway linking the capital to northern cities. Police and the army deployed to the area to disperse them, according to police and eyewitnesses.
This came one day after police used tear gas, water cannon, and live rounds to prevent "groups of riot inciters" from crossing a bridge leading into Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone, which houses government buildings and foreign embassies.
The protesters in #Iraq, mainly nationalistic youth with no sectarian agendas are targeting every group, individual, organization and entity that has ties to the Khomeinist terror regime in #Iran. The office of Nouri Al-Maleki's party in #shiia holy city of #Najaf was set on fire
[PRESSTV] US President Donald Trump ...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...... should not only be impeached but tossed in the calaboose I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece! and that in a solitary confinement says, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Representative Mugshots/maxine-waters.jpg U.S. Representative for California's 43rd congressional district, serving since 1991, a total of 27.83767513651228 years. A member of the Democratic Party, she is the most senior of the 12 black women currently serving in the United States Congress, is a member and former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Before becoming a member of Congress she served in the California Assembly, to which she was first elected back when Disco was in flower, in 1976, which would make it 42.835621748421936 years. She has been a politician for virtually all her adult life. If she was brighter she'd be a Communist... Comrade Maxine Waters. Right. And he oughta be whipped with snakes every hour on the hour!
One of the first Democrats to call for the president’s impeachment, Waters made the comment in Tuesday. She first called for impeachment about the time he was being inaugurated, if not before.
The politician’s tweet came in response to Trump’s attacks on the intelligence community whistleblower complaint that has sparked a formal impeachment inquiry by House Democrats.
"I'm calling on the GOP to stop Trump's filthy talk of whistleblowers being spies & using mob language implying they should be killed. Impeachment is not good enough for Trump. He needs to be imprisoned & placed in solitary confinement. But for now, impeachment is the imperative," she said.
Trump has apparently pressured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'... , his potential opponent for the 2020 presidential election, and his son, Hunter, before Kiev can receive the US military aid.
The president is trying to find the whistleblower, whose revelations lie at the heart of the impeachment proceedings.

Look at her bank accounts before you make such determinations SR-71. Selling out fellow African-Americans may not be as lucrative a business as selling out USA to China/Saudia/EU, but it's lucrative enough.

Another loudmouthed gem of the Dem part who has enriched herself in corrupted politics and held office for far too long.

I doubt Joe will have the stomach to run as Warren's VP, and neither will Sanders. So the Dems might have a Warren/Harris or Warren/Butt ticket to compete against Trump?

Why is this under "Great White North?? Is it an extremely veiled reference to oour upcoming election?? I see it refers to Northern Syria, but still . . . . . . . . ???
[SPECTATOR.US] Impeachment is a regime counter-attack against a man elected to bring about change. And while impeachment is certainly constitutional, it is an elite procedure not a democratic one. The prestige media has passed the first judgment on whether it’s warranted in this case. (It is, they say.)
The Democratic House will investigate and then ‐ inevitably, if they’re not to lose the faith of their own voters ‐ bring articles of impeachment. Ultimately, the Senate will hold the trial (if Mitch McConnell can’t delay it until the election), and Trump will almost certainly be acquitted on a partisan vote. Instead of showing, as the Nixon and Clinton impeachments did, that party isn’t quite everything and some establishment cohesion remains, the failure of the Trump impeachment will deepen the divisions of 2016 and sharpen the question of regime legitimacy. A mistaken premise ‐ overestimation of support for the ruling class and their rules ‐ will lead to the regime losing rather than gaining credibility. This will be most obvious among the activist wing of the Republican party, but the effects won’t stop there.
The old saying is that if you strike at a king, be sure to kill him. In this case, the regime is striking not a king but at the very idea that an elected official can challenge the establishment. This risks revealing just how weak the country’s ruling class really is: if 40 percent of the country remains with Trump through the ordeal of impeachment, that will show that 40 percent is anti-regime ‐ revolutions are made with less. And that 40 percent would be a floor, not a ceiling; a starting point for a future anti-regime movement.
The moderate path here is the one that eschews impeachment and instead shows that the elite still has faith in elections. Let the voters decide whether they want to defend the ’norms’ of the regime, and even if they decide not to ‐ by re-electing Trump ‐ the regime will have lost less credibility than it stands to through a failed attempt ...Curses! Foiled again!... at impeachment. Legitimacy is bleeding away from American politics and society, and Trump is a symptom not the cause. The cause is the folly of America’s leadership class as a whole. Electing Trump was the public’s way of impeaching that class.

The fall of the Roman Republic was marked by vast corrupt bribes to buy government positions, more corruption to pay for the bribes once in office, and finally attacks on those losing (or being forced out) of those positions. The US has had a good run of peaceful transitions and it would be a shame if 2020 marked the inexorable slide from Republic to Oligarchy...
Probably 60 million Americans work as white-collar, educated employees inside state or federal government, other nonprofits, or large "woke" corporations outside of the oil/gas/chemicals, agribusiness and construction sectors.
These are deep-blue environments where anything that could be construed as even remotely pro-Trump is verboten.
Of those 60m white-collar employees, at least a third are moderate, or moderate-to-conservative or conservative: 20 million potential college-educated Trump supporters surrounded by "woke," virulently anti-Trump colleagues, HR departments, and virtue-signalling senior execs.
Of the 20 million, maybe a quarter are openly pro-Trump, maybe another quarter are genuinely NeverTrumpers, and the remaining 10 million are either on the fence or underground.
How many of the 10 million are secretly pro-Trump-- secretly because to reveal their inclinations would be to risk retaliation, denunciation, ostracism-- perhaps even professional suicide or bankruptcy? 7 million?
7 million underground pro-Trump voters would amount to 11 percent of Trump's 2016 vote total, or about 5.5% of the electorate.
Are these voters, who face ruin if they let anyone around them know they support this president, really going to voluntarily open up to anonymous polling companies who call them?
Isn't it obvious that the polling numbers are seriously undercounting Trump's actual support - by at least 5 or 6 points?
How many others are there who don't fall into this white-collar group but nonetheless are underground Trump supporters?
We'll know next November. Don't be surprised if Trump wins easily.

Voting is always better than killing.. The Marines take an oath to support the President and defend the Constitution.. Who does the Army support? The Military stays out of politics for a reason.
The Praetorians could be bought. And the Legions fought for their Generals who paid them. And the Legions could always march on Rome...Brutus died at the battle of Philippi? And Octavian was the adopted heir of Julius....he executed Anthony in Egypt. or forced his suicide and saw Cleopatra handed the Asp.

..but in Rome, most of the upper class didn't have the money either to personally pay the troops. They raised the money via looting of the losers, to include the 'profits' from selling the losers into slavery. Tangential note - Revolutionary France invaded and occupied the Swiss cantons....for the banks!

When I was a kid and I watched the Boomer class fight each other on the college campuses and it became clear that our way of life would be at risk when they came to power in DC. I am technically a Boomer, born early 1960. But it was clear when the generation that was so incredibly divided at 20, by 60 the divide would be institutionalized, and now it is. It does not matter who wins in this, it does not matter who loses. What will happen here is more and more bullshit hate from a generation that hates itself will destroy us from within. The left will live off the hate until Pelosi goes to rehab, and McConnel will deride the left until he has a stroke. These boomers were diametrically opposed since high school, and will be until death. What we the rational have to do is try to preserve the constitution until this threat to our existence has passed. Socialism/communist ideal have soaked into our schools poisoning our next generations, all the while the boomers point at each other and bicker over hurt feelings and colors of the rainbow. The boomers are no more or less corrupt than the generations before, they are human after all, and they will not be any more or less corrupt that the Gen X, Y, Z or what ever they call them selves that follow. What the boomers have lost- or never had, was basic respect for their fellow American. They/we are willing to believe the lies and believe the ends do justify the means. The Clintons are a prime example. Our constitution is in crisis, and my sad best guess is it will fail, not from an enemy attack, buy from a generation of self absorbed fools that are willing to toss the greatest thing on the planet to prove their side is right.

A vote for impeachment to be recommended by the House of Representatives requires plausible charges which in the past were subject to debate. What seems to be lacking here are plausible charges that can be written down and that can stand up against scrutiny. What are those charges supposed to be?
Trump tweets?
Trump uses secure systems for his communications with other heads of state?
Trump finds Biden's brag that he forced firing of a Ukrainian chief prosecutor horrible?
Trump saying he would like to find out what really happened with that to the Head of State of Ukraine?
Trump getting two scoops of ice cream at certain meals?
Where is the meat?

The "inquiry for the media" (a.k.a. Circus) has one drawback: Trump is a counter-puncher and will not hunker down and be endlessly pummeled like the milquetoast "gentlemanly loser" Republicans the GOPe prefers.

The dems know they can't win with any of their clowns in an honest election. I think it doesn't matter to them if they have a credible charge for impeachment. They just want to continue making noise using the media to create a huge distraction and to try to chip away at all the success Trump has had. There are too many people than can be taken in by this nonsense. On the other hand people who may have been on the fence about Trump are disgusted with this dem $hit show. I don't know what the answer is other than Trump keeping up the good fight and those of us who are with him doing whatever is in our own small milieu to do to support him.

During the French " Reign of Terror " Robespierre was the most vicious leader/killer. As it came around for his turn to get the chop, he didn't get the then current practice of having a bag placed over his head and being placed face down on the block. He was placed face up so he could see the blade dropping.
[THEFEDERALIST] For two years, our political and media elites assured us that a wide-ranging independent counsel investigation of Russia’s efforts to interfere in the 2016 election would reveal that the Trump campaign, and indeed Trump himself, colluded with Moscow to steal the election. The Robert Mueller probe, we were told, would prove it.
Not only did that turn out to be false, but as the investigation dragged on it became clear that the origins of the probe were highly suspicious, implicating senior intelligence officials in the B.O. regime and raising questions about whether the whole thing was a political hit job from the start.
Now those same political and media elites are assuring us that Trump has broken the law and must be removed from office‐not for colluding with Russia, but for pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to dig up dirt on Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden

In fact, everything about the Ukraine affair thus far has the same stink as the origins of the Russia probe‐the suspicious actions of unelected intelligence community babus bureaucrats, the hysterical proclamations of congressional Democrats, the uniform efforts of the media to distort every aspect of the story in the service of an impeachment narrative. Sound familiar?

1. This whistleblower needs to file his complaint in a court of law instead of hiding behind whistleblower rules designed to be abused by nefarious coup-intended shady operators.
2. The complaint is all based on hearsay that would never make it into a court.
3. Shifty rule changes prior to th BS complaint being filed.
4. Brennan's fingers are over this.

As far as I can tell the rules requiring "whistleblowers" to have first hand knowledge of misdeeds by intelligence officers are imbedded in the law that created the status and procedures for whistleblowers, That law cannot be changed without a new law passed by congress and signed by the president. That has not happened. Changing forms does not change the law,

[AlAhram] The Egyptian security forces have arrested the administrator of a Facebook page that published posts advertising the buying and selling of human organs. Egyptian Planned Parenthood affiliate?
According to a statement issued by the interior ministry on Wednesday, the general directorate of information technology observed the posts on the Facebook page, in violation of the law.
The ministry did not reveal the name of the administrator. It, however, said in its statement that the defendant confessed his crimes, noting that he was exploiting patients’ conditions and had established a Facebook page to buy and sell kidneys.
The Egyptian parliament is currently working on amendments to the legislation on organ transplants to organise organ donation.
[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] Secretary of State Pompeo told news hounds he was on the July 25th Ukrainian call which would be expected. He also said the policy with Ukraine is consistent. Of course, this is what the liberal media latched onto.
But then Pompeo dropped these bombs on the street thugs and goons running the US House committees.
Pompeo told news hounds how Democrats in the House violated fundamental principles, contacted State Department officials directly and told them NOT to contact legal counsel.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo: Back to first principles. The predicate of your final question about objecting to what the folks on Capitol Hill have asked. It’s fundamentally not true. What we objected to was the demands that were put that deeply violate the fundamental principle of separation of powers. They contacted State Department employees directly. They told them NOT to contact legal counsel at the State Department. That’s been reported to us. They said the the State Department wouldn’t be able to be present. There are important constitutional prerogatives that the executive branch has to be present so that we can protect the important information so our partners, countries like Italia, can have confidence that the information they provide can have with the State Department will continue to be protected. So the response that I provided them was one that could acknowledge that we will of course do our constitutional duty to cooperate with this co-equal branch but we are going to do so in a way that is consistent with the fundamental values of the American system. And we won’t tolerate folks on Capital Hill bullying, intimidating State Department employees.

But what's going to happen? NOTHING What ramifications will there be for these Democrap thugs? NONE
[DAWN] Imran Khan is now back home amidst applause for his ’historic speech’ at the UN to face some hard political realities. The government is in a state of disarray and the opposition is threatening to bring the capital to a standstill. It is not a pretty situation. Meanwhile, ...back at the palazzo, Count Guido had escaped from his bonds and overwhelmed his guard using the bludgeon the faithful Filomena had smuggled to him in the loaf of bread... rumours abound that a major cabinet shakeup is in the offing. But will reshuffling the deck resolve the primary problem of governance?
Over the last one year since coming to power, Khan has made several changes in the cabinet that now looks more like a collection of relics from the past. Reshuffling the same deck is not likely to transform this gallery of curiosities. Mere changing of portfolios and jettisoning a few dead weights is not likely to deliver.

[TOWNHALL] Rep. Adam Schiff ...Showboating U.S. Representative for California's 28th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Schiff has served in Congress since 2001. He currently serves as the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In a manner reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, on March 22, 2017, in a interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC Schiff claimed there was “more than circumstantial evidence now” that Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... 's campaign colluded with Russia." Todd followed up by asking if he had seen direct evidence of collusion and Schiff responded that there was "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation... (D-CA) is a snake. Period. There’s no way around it. He’s part of the cabal of anti-Trump Democrats who pushed the Russian collusion myth for two years. Actually, he and the rest of his clown crew haven’t but we have a new front in this war against Trump. The Trump-Ukraine phone call that the Left thought would be their ticket to impeachment.

Personally, I can blame the Newt. Term limits were part of the deal he dropped. How many of these clowns (in both parties) would be here today if term limits were passed in the early 90s?

We tried term limits for the California state legislature. It didn't work. Today our state legislators are as leftist and crooked as you can possibly imagine. It is apparently easy for the villains who sponsor them to find stooges to take their places.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
